Heyyyy, remember Billy Danasty, well I got around to drawing another OC. Her name is Gloria Tzuentes. She’s not a descendant of Drolta, but she is distantly related to her through other extended family members. All her life she’s been outcast and bullied because of some of her family members’ poor history with the law. She has a lot of trouble trusting people. When they first meet, she and Billy do not get along, she initially thinks he’s a coward and a jerk. Billy thinks she’s a huge hypocrite and careless. As the story progresses tho, they both realize they’ve been putting up fronts for similar reasons and have a lot more in common than they thought.

Her sprite is supposed to be a similar color palette as Sypha, just with that darker bluish to stand in for black. It was really difficult trying to get her blazer right, and I still kinda think the sprite makes it look like a hoodie, but yeah d(TwT ). The color looks really crushed and messed up cause for some reason instagram did that to it lol.

Also! Billy Danasty with his hair down! :3 Yeah anyway, she’s cool, I gotta think more about other characters and plot points and stuff for this cause it’s been fun making Castlevania OCs tbh.

Like, I don't want to be a dick, but I was checking my Castlevania-only sideblogs and it took me all of 15 seconds to find the first Bathory post. (https://www.tumblr.com/asoftercastlevania/135592557703/ive-got-pomeranian-gladness-in-my-heart?source=share) same for other minor characters I like. There's also a lot of art in pixiv, a character being minor doesn't mean they don't have fans!

I find very fascinating how nearly every character in CV has at least one fan absolutely dedicated to shower them with love and shout to the world that they're actually very cool and with tons of potential. It speaks about the charm the series has. I may not care much about the Bloodlines cast, but it warms my heart that others do because it's clear that it gives them happiness!

The staff of NFCV has the possibility of taking obscure, unloved characters, and giving them the spotlight and fleshing them out while still being faithful to whatever little canon information we got about them. Actually doing what the games could not. Actually showing them some love and getting other fans closer to those characters.

Instead they're stealing these names for their OCs, with zero respect for canon, only taking what they think they could get. And as I always say, it comes off as scummy to me. Now people will look at the pink-haired BDSM mommy vampire, who is for some fucking reason named Drolta Tzuentes despite having absolutely nothing in common with her aside from being Erzsébet's servant I suppose, and acclaim Nocturne for making her hot interesting. Well maybe an old human witch who may or may not be Death could have also been interesting?

But hey, they do the same with the major characters as well :V no one is safe. They're all a bunch of OCs stealing the place of the game characters because the crew knows they get more praise like this, and that's why they didn't simply make an original show about vampires.

Friendly reminder that Ellis wanted to name Godbrand "Mathias Cronqvist" :) names are just ripe for the picking without actually giving a shit about the lore :)

(I also wonder why are they fusing RoB and Bloodlines together when the two are separated by 130 years - was RoB's story not enough? Why are you bothering? I mean, we all know why *coughcoughalucard*, but I'd like to hear their reasoning.)

I have a Castlevania OC >:3c. He and his story are still very work in progress stuff, but he’s got some rough concept doodles! And when I say rough I mean ROUGH cause one of his arms I erased so many times some of the layers of the paper were tearing so I had to just leave it as is and it looks a little short whoops— but yeah

His name is William “Billy” Danasty :3. I think I’m gonna have his story be set sometime around the height of the Satanic Panic with music and stuff, he’s kinda a bit of a metalhead. He seems all tough and scary, carries a switchblade at all times, and keeps everyone at a distance, but it’s not because he’s mean, he’s just afraid of people. He does make some friends eventually, but I don’t have drawings of them yet. I need to make a nice full color concept page for him someday hehehe.

Also, NES Castlevania style sprites are fun to make!!! :D
