its pretty 50/50! i tend not to draw from refs as much for comms/commercial work, whereas w personal art i use refs to Have A Good Time and help me study/improve at the same time 🤔 theres less creative brainpower needed sometimes lol...

good grief by bastille is probs, in my mind, the most AAI song out there (it's one of the first tracks i put on the dev playlist LOL). only one character in the game has a route that deals with the loss of someone else, but everyone else has a route that deals with another kind of loss -- the loss of a dream, the loss of who they used to be before trauma, etc. mourning/loss/grief are feelings felt by more people than just those who lose others to death, albeit the scale of those feelings is quite different.

i also like this song a lot in general, because it's a mournful song while also being frank about the feeling of loss. and there's still some hope in it, somewhere. one comment on that youtube video says something like "it's a happy depression", which i like. i hope adonia ai is able to embody that same feeling for others.

hello hey hi!!! ty for the message i love talking about uniforms and spend way too many hours of the day looking for reference of them

so i talked a bit about this before in this post! i stand by a lot of what was said there aka pinterest, google searching/scouring, and that book i linked........ these are all good for officers too! looking for officer ref is often very similar to infantry stuff, tho there may just be less of it depending on what specifically you're looking for. if you are looking for very specific references and want to get insane about it i can talk about that too.... tho i would like to say i dont have like one specific website to link bc i use so many different ones only like once or twice

if you're willing to spend money i'd recommend looking for books on the subject- there is always one strange book from like 1970 about the helmets of ww1 on ebay or something. the nice thing about that is they will typically name the different parts of a uniform, which allows you to google that specific thing to get a closer look. learning about the makeup of a uniform/everything's specific use helps when its time to draw them. ofc this isnt a super sustainable option but investing in a good encyclopedia once has saved me so much time. that guide to ww1 has been well loved

if youre not looking to spend money there are still a lot of options. stuff i like in no particular order:

reenactment pictures- action shots, higher quality pictures than something from 1918. you can find whole galleries of people's reenactment battles (?? is that what theyre called??) if you do a little clicking around.

stock photo websites- be really careful here bc you dont want to get into trouble with usage rights. i only rly use these if im desperate and then very sparingly and piecemeal bc i dont want to get in trouble lol

websites where they sell reproduction/reenactment uniforms- here is an example. reproduction stuff is great bc u can usually find every little bit of the uniform being sold somewhere by someone. ebay has also been surprisingly helpful.

& the thing i would like to stress the most is that i rly dig for references. i literally have 21 tabs open with different searches for super specific things on my phone at this very moment. i use google image search extensively and scroll through literally so many jpegs, pngs, pdfs, webps, etc etc etc. the unfortunate truth is that the more specific you get the harder it is to find stuff. i recently drew a ussr female fighter pilot and had to get ref for her uniform from about 5 different sources (and that was one drawing!!!!!) sometimes i find a reference for the exact thing i need on a website that has nothing else of use to me. the best advice i have here is just keep scouring and clicking and you will eventually find something. i wish this was more helpful but once you know what you are looking for you can search for that thing specifically and that's a big help

if she loves her things organized, i can see— during the beginning of their dating life, tae'd come over on a random weekend, only to find a!oc cleaning up, in her most natural state, and the mundane aspect of it would melt him. why? bcos he's the been there, done that sort of person, but not when it comes to these things. the domesticity, i mean. hehe.

also, the fact that she trusted him enough to show that side of her? :') the only reason she wouldn't stress about her look is bc she's adorably engrossed in her work and NEEDS IT DONE AND HE SAW HER IN OTHER STATES TOO 🫠

this one is also from initial years. i think if she were to ever get injured in any way or had a scar—however minor, he'd still spend hours on those spot/s, kissing & hating himself for not being there when it happened. also, i think if she didn't tell him about such a thing/things bc it's not an issue to her, because he had sm going on according to her and didn't wanna pile on— he'd be upset. can see her making jokes about it since it's nothing to her, and him glaring at her with swimming red eyes ( just like the wedding drabble where he threatened her to never leave him ), and making similar threats to his favorite girl ( mid-lovemaking ) ☹️

you often write that before meeting her, tae's biggest flex in bed was composure. so i can literally see him shortcircuting (even during the roughest rounds), hearing her say the most loving things and her unadultered affection. the holds only bared by his urge to take care of her first like you always say.

also, i think when he first introduced her to his world of ruined tango, he was more concerned about her, than a!oc herself. can see him internally worrying, but she is the type to want it harder and more, anyway, to his constant surprise 😂 no, but seriously. suppose it's waxplay, and he knows what he's doing bc he's a pro, but it's still his a!oc 😭 no matter how much lust and control is swarming around them, his need to smear his affection on/inside her is REAL! ever love someone so much that even being balls deep in them isn't enough bc you wanna consume them whole??? and merge with their soul and being??? that's them, and it was novel for him. right?

This is "Truck Baumgardner" (his actual name is confidential. No one knows what her name is except for Truck). Truck serves as the music video director and cinematographer of Dethklok, having been with them since almost the beginning. He uses he/she pronouns

I'm still a little stuck on his voice claim but I'm mostly leaning to either Debbie Harry or Jen from Downtown (Tammy Lang). As of now, Jen has been a place holder voice claim.

She's very much a stoner lol (her and pickles are best friends and likes to do drugs together. They like to get drunk and high)

Speaking of Pickles and Truck, these two loved going to concerts together, mostly punk shows (Trucks favorite genre is Punk btw). The two don't do it often now since Dethklok is one of the biggest bands but they love going to bars and drinking. They're very close.

As of Fertilityklok (Season 3 episode), Truck and Toki are dating. They've been having a situationship

since probably season 1. The two do love each other, they just never said it until after the events in Fertilityklok which did make Truck a lil upset (the events in the episode I mean)

should I mention that Truck has died plenty of times in the past here too? Yeah she's immortal and has always been immortal since she was 15 after being burned alive by her father. He also knows Lucifer and likes to call him Lucy, mostly just to make him upset. She thinks it's funny.

The band all acknowledges the fact that Truck is immortal and they never talk about it. Ever since Murderface learned of this fact, Truck became this dummy for him to experiment with all of the weapons he has. The first time Toki saw Truck die, it was pretty traumatic for him since he didn't know about it. So often whenever Truck is alive, he just listens to her heartbeat to make sure he's alive.

Trucks death lore is a lil complex, if you would even call it that, it has rules. Okay, depending on the injury, Truck can be dead for at least a couple hours or for even an entire day. Though her body always rejuvenates or heals the injury in 24 hours/couple hours. It happens in real time too. I have no idea if that made any sense lol

Getting away from all the death stuff, Trucks relationship with the other band members follows as this; Truck sees Nathan as a Father figure, the only father figure in her life as her own father often neglected her. She sees Murderface as an annoying brother and the two often bicker. She has no hard feelings towards Murderface killing her because she doesn't remember it happening. Her and Skwissgaar I'm working on because I don't know, the two had a quiet falling out to say the least. They just don't talk to each other as much as they did back then.

Her relationship with Charles is professional, they do work together after all. Often Truck tells Charles the music video she has in mind for a Dethklok song/single. Dick Knubbler and Abigail still needs work but I know that Truck loves Abigail more than Knubbler and they love talking to eachother. Her and Magnus used to date but never worked out because they often fought and argued. I think of their relationship like Marceline and Ash from Adventure Time.

Role: She’s an interdimentional scientist, she created one of my ocs(Jade) and helps others teleport between aus with tech, she also developed soul transportation (moving a soul from the original body to a new one, which is how she became a skeleton)

Sexuality: Aroace

Race: Skeleton, she also has angel wings and an angelic form(similar to the angels in four angels of heaven) she was once human but many flaws and problems occurred in her human form and got so severe that she had to make a new body for her to use. Although now she is considered a monster(the undertale kind lol)

Extra details: she plays a big role in the AUD series(a Wip series, not yet released) she is soul linked with Jade and has a spiritual connection with her, she can sense Jade’s location and (at will) can communicate with her telepathically. According to watcher lore she is considered a listener, but not quite a watcher. 

As you can probably tell this character is mainly inspired off of W.D. Gaster, but instead of W.D. I put Z.L. For my initials :))

Z.L. Gaster has been my persona/skelesona for quite a while now, ever since I made the character I use her a lot, she was originally created as a sprite for a YouTube channel I was going to make, I decided it would be too much and decided to scrap the idea, but I still liked the character so I kept her :D

In her original design she sported a pair of square shaped glasses, a blue jacket exactly like the one I wore constantly when I made her, a heart locket, grey pants, and a pair of black boots which I also wore at the time(and still do)

okay so I'm pretty bad at tagging things/having a tagging system, I had a blog back in 2016 (middle school) and I was so efficient at tagging my reblogged supernatural gifs, dan and phil clips, and voltron posting but when I lost access to that blog and made this new one I told myself not to take it as seriously (and somehow thought it'd be cringey if i was ultra organized?? which doesn't make sense and I'm still upset at myself for,,) SO for the first half of this blog I didn't tag anything I reblogged at all, I'd just go to town and go through tags I liked (mainly danganronpa) and reblogged infinitely. and I LOVE text shit-posts so it was a mix of everything I enjoyed and found funny

this is a collage of pages and each single one was taken from a different comic, every single one that existed so far, including the very recent one. well i only missed the valentines comic that is

and u can def tell something changed yeah. and that im focused on arama maybe too much. but he is really a character who got a ton of headcanons that i want to talk about. and some of them were basically build in that public ask, such as ears touching that we are not talking about either. i really had some crack time with it.

i was just having a lot of fun. with the requirement of 1 comic (thats actually not necessarily for it to be a comic, but i love making comics) per month, in the very first month i made three, each of which was 3 or more pages long. i even got a second role of, you wont believe who, ararycan because i was just as confident... but ended up with just 2 comics one of which was 1 page long before i left it behind. that was jus too much.

so uh, what i wanna talk about is my funky ref sheets for these because goddamn these are the hilarious.

the very first refsheets i used, except for cinnamon arama one cuz it sucked and was made long before i introduced cinnamon arama to the public and his design was a bit different. i think it was the very first time i ever showed cinnamon arama anywhere, somewhere in the end of november? but this ref most likely was made about a month earlier, alongside with my names comic (the third one) when i started my book long tractate (its really long trust me). that tractate started with discussing names and language so i think it was that time.

and u can see the very first cinnamon arama encounter with the very first page that has him among others.

also i used to make actual gradient on his cap, but with gradient maps over it, that started looking like two separate colors and i took it as a feature, up until now. and that applies for every single aranara i ever drew, i never used gradients.

and since i got a role of ararycan at that time, i added him here as well. he doesnt have that gradient too. its also the time when their mouths could open finally, and for long these were rather catlike for whatever reason. but i like it. my necoarc drawing expirience def helped me with that.

this is the very first ref of cinna arama that i used up until recent. i for some reason made him kinda reddish... but i think thats because under gradient maps he looked more yellowish. then i stopped using these and didnt change the design anyway. and as u can see, the pattern on the cap is still incorrect, while we are somewhere in january, when my last cinna arama comic was made lol, not including the one im working on now ofc. this refsheet looks like arama lore btw.

in the meantime i only changed his bud into flower* with one petal bended. this is what i was talking about when i said that u can differ regular arama and cinnamon arama even if i wont color them. cinna also has shaggy scarf tip, in case u didnt notice.

and we are finally at the current moment, this is the most recent refsheet. simple yet accurate, and i love this one. i love how it took me half a year to finally understand the design. they look kinda yummy like that, but its unwelcome to eat aranara and shriveled seeds somewhere near me. thank you.

I like to think that Pharaoh man is the old man of this team.

Maybe he was fighting along with other robots in Hard war somewhere far away, was able to survive and run away from government long enough to be considered a legent, waiting for the right moment to rejoin in this lost war again.

Maybe he heard about Silicon city's many attends from other robots to overthrow humans ones again but without any luck and decided to lend his hand there. And so he travels and eventually arrives and joins your terrorist club. Maybe he even seems badass first time we get to his introduction. A legend thought to be long gone, a experienced warrior that can survive in extreme situations, a hard war veteran and ect.

And then hes like "how do you do fellow kids" and the badass points that he has? Long gone.

Expect the "in my time-" and "I've seen better" routine. And don't even try to ask about his past, because you just will be stuck in unskipable cutscene of him telling you all about it, like at least 3 hours, bare minimum. Usually the victim of this "cutscene" is Hard man, because he's to slow to make a getaway in time before Pharaoh starts telling story and to nice to actually walk out if he started it.

Also i just think that solar shot (or whatever Pharaoh uses) is actually one of few things that beats Hard mans defense. Like, dude can be dence as much as he wants but can he stand the plazma with a heat that feels like surface of the sun?

Imagine Snake asking Pharaoh about Hard war, and thinking that now that he has a literal veteran he won't need to steal documents about that ever again and walking out of that same room 12 hours later and be like: i wish that i was stealing documents and failed rather than be stuck in a room with him like this ever again.

Pharaoh is pretty affectionate toward Metal man but in a "grandfather that tells u suck after barely telling that he's proud of you" kinda way. Like "man, Metal you actually not half bad with repair stuff, i dont feel anything wrong with my arm animore. But i still had better, so you have room to improve."

Also Pharaoh sometimes uses slangs in hes speeches, so it leads to situations like this:

Oh my GOD this is such a treat, actually!! I've been having a bit of trouble characterizing him and this is PERFECT for him. Pharaoh being a veteran is such a good idea! It also officially marks him as the oldest of the group. I'm still deciding on what his abilities will be specifically, since I'm trying not to have too much overlap between them lol. Poor Hard Man though, big man has to deal with so much lol

I do imagine Pharaoh and Skull being from the same creator (Some FC version of Dr. Cossack) BUT keep in mind I haven't touched the comics at all, aside from skimming the articles on the Wiki. This is already an AU of sorts anyways, which I'll elaborate on eventually. That being said I think Toad should also have come from the same creator for shits and giggles lmao THAT DOES REMIND ME i gotta finish Pharaoh's ref, hes been legless for so long oops (and I gotta do one for Metal and the last two guys. whoops.) so a while ago i drew this sketch and then my therapist was like "hey is that a brain?" and i was like mmm,, nah... but then the more i sat and thought about it the more i liked the idea, so . i modified it a bit to make it more brain like! im very silly about my ocs in that i rarely think up backstories or even names i just. draw them. lol

i had nagito on th brain in class so i pulled out my sketchbook and drew smth with a 4 leaf clover and this turned out! colored with highlighters lol- didn't put much thought into it but i feel like Brain and Clover ( lmao ) would be in the same universe & friends

k so i was talking to my online friend one time bout how i wish i was creative enough to think up + draw my fursona and they were like "hey i'll draw it for u" so i was like YES YES A MILLION TIMES YES. and a little bit ago there was like an art night at this studio near where i live, and the theme was like myths and stuff- there was a tarot card print making activity that was free. so i drew my fursona. and its the hanged man. it just says the hanged. you can interpret it either side up. it has like spider eyes, but its robotic, and has like a mermaid tail and a cat esque face. its the bbg <33

DORM

🎩Lewis is a Heartslabyul guy who definitely thinks that he does not belong in HL. Despite this, he is, in his own way, a good HL student. Although he's not one for the rules, he IS incredibly loyal and dedicated (loyalty and dedication are traits that ive noticed are a big theme amongst HL but thats an essay for another time) to those he trusts and/or respects, even if it's shown in weird or unconventional ways. He has one roommate, a hare beastman, and the two kinda vibe and coexist together. They aren't like. Besties for life or anything, but they do get along really well and consider each other close friends (and also have a mutual disdain for the rules and the way they get enforced). Think like. ADeuce but if they were not as close friends.

♌Izem, though he is not present here yet, is a Savanaclaw third-year who I think definitely does resemble the dorm quite well. He's not (as much of) a jock like many others in his dorm, but he still sees the value in strength as power and being dedicated and persistent in achieving your goals. Honestly, if he wasn't basically the head delinquent in charge of a lot of rowdy students, he'd probably be teased by his dormmates by taking the Beast King's Tenacity WAYYY too seriously. He doesn't have any roommates anymore, but he used to have them in previous years. He keeps in touch with all of them, just because of the fact that even if they weren't delinquents in his group, he still sees them as members of his "pride".

🌙As a member of Diasomnia who feels oddly outcast by his peers at times, Casimir is very much a perfect representation of Diasomnia. He may not be as powerful as his housewarden (and his retainers), but he still has the potential to be a very capable mage, should he choose to hone his skills. He's also, as I mentioned earlier, a bit of an outcast amongst those in his classes and such, which is also something that I feel is very in character and fitting for a Diasomnia student (yet again another essay for another time). As a freshman, he's got three other roommates, though he does wish that they'd just move out and leave him alone already. They're already rarely around, and when they ARE around, he's constantly fearful that they're just going to tease him (they won't- in fact, his roommates are quite fond of him. Casimir is just... not sure how safe they are for him to unmask around oops). Nobody will tell him this, but in his dorm, Casimir has come to be seen as a younger brother figure of sorts for many.

HOMELAND

🌙Casimir is from a mountainous town in the Rose Queendom (because i didnt wanna make him from briar valley) known for producing some of the world's top musicians (specifically in a composition sense, you aren't gonna find pop stars from this place). When he first came to NRC, there were one or two upperclassmen from his hometown, but they were in different dorms, and he didn't know them (rip king).

UNIQUE MAGIC

♌Izem's UM is called "For The King". Initially I was gonna go in a completely different direction for him, with a UM named after Zira's song in LK2 (My Lullaby) that had a sleep kind of effect, but I decided to do something different with it instead. It's a very defensive magic (that is also a bit self-sacrificial if we're being honest here) that will redirect hits from the target of the spell to him. Think like the move "Follow Me" from Pokemon if you're familiar with it? Or alternatively like Floyd's "Bind the Heart" but for other people instead of himself. Anyways, yeah it's like that. He doesn't use it very often unless someone is going after his housewarden or his fellow delinquents because it's often a one-way ticket to the infirmary for him. "My loyalty is pledged to few, and no man nor beast shall sway this vow. To show my devotion I grant you this shield... For The King." there aren't too many holes that can be exploited on either end, unless you consider that Izem will only use it to protect those he trusts. Blackmail could be a viable option for getting him to use it to protect you, but it would NOT work in the long term (he would know).

🦜I don't have a name for it yet, but Rusul's UM allows him to perfectly mimic any voice he's heard before (so original, i know. i think its silly and fun tho). Makes him great for doing impressions of his friends! The only stipulation is that he HAS to have heard the person before without any kind of filtering/modifications. This means that, unless he has seen a VA doing a character voice IN PERSON, he can't really mimic that. He also can't mimic talkshow hosts or famous celebrities for the same reason. He CAN however mimic his dorm mates, which was very interesting post ch 4. Many of his dorm mates reported hearing Rusul repeatedly saying "NICE SHOT!!!" over and over again in his vice housewarden's voice, just because he thought it sounded nice to say (when ur evil berserker vice says something that becomes a vocal stim 😳). He was dropped on party cleanup as a chore for the next month. Since I don't have a name for his UM, I also don't have any incantations thought up either oops.

🐁James's Unique Magic "Goodbye So Soon", is a pretty convenient UM for someone involved in the theatre. It allows him to basically vanish from a spot (and teleports him a few feet away) that he has to perceive as a "trap" (e.g.: if he is on stage and needs a sudden exit, he can view himself as "trapped" on the stage, cast his UM, and magically disappear from view, reappearing backstage.). It CAN work on other spells (like "Off With Your Head", for example) but ONLY if the mage that cast the spell is of equal or lesser power/skill to James himself (meaning he could certainly [and barely] escape from OWYH if he NEEDED to, but he could not escape from Malleus's "Fae of Maleficence"). The incantation for his spell is not necessary (he practiced for a REALLY long time to make it this way), but the incantation is as follows: "I do hate to leave, but with time so short, I must say so long... Goodbye So Soon". The major loophole with the spell were stated earlier kinda (he has to be of equal or greater skill to another mage to use it to override their magic), but I did NOT mention that he does, in fact, have to be able to see his target location as well. Get him blindfolded and he cannot use his UM to escape.

TALENT

🦐Yuna is a girl of a couple of odd talents, but her main one is her skill on the piano. It takes a while for most people to appreciate/acknowledge it, but if there's one thing Yuna will give the Octavinelle boys credit for, it's appreciating her musical ability.

🩺Heinrich is VERY skilled when it comes to empathizing or sympathizing with his students' plights. Whether it's a result of his own odd upbringing or the fact that he has a teenage daughter, no one is sure. What IS certain, though, is that this skill of his is something that many students of NRC can appreciate, whether they want to admit it or not.

BACKSTORY

Not sure if I wanted to put these two together or separate but I think I'll do them together for the time being and maybe I'll do a more in depth thing at another date.

🎩🐁James and Lewis have always been close friends as far back as anyone can remember. Lewis's family was always there, basically helping out wherever they could all over their hometown, so even if James DIDNT want to be around Lewis, he would have been so anyways. They met when they were both around 4 or 5 at an annual event that their hometown hosts and were near inseparable for the time after. They eventually split for a short while, as Lewis was initially enrolled at RSA, but they were quickly reunited and were eager to spread the gossip that they could find (Lewis was particularly disappointed when he learned that he missed such an entertaining and crazy entrance ceremony).

It was odd to many people (including those at NRC) how such different individuals managed to become so close to one another, with some people joking that it's only because they have so much blackmail on the other that if one went down, the other would be soon to follow. The truth, though? They've just known each other for so long and are like brothers as a result, and that's all there is to it.

PERSONALITY

🦜Rusul is a very mischievous, playful, and conniving young man. He loves playing pranks on his fellow Scarabians (or his fellow NRC students in general, to be honest), and will consistently weigh the pros and cons of allying himself with various individuals. In true NRC student fashion, Rusul prefers to think about making the decisions that will benefit him the most in the long run, though he will make the occasional sacrifice to make sure it won't hurt the other party TOO much. I think of the existing cast, Rusul is probably a lot more like Floyd or Ortho, both of whom I think he would get along with quite well (he would probably go out and mess with other people with them for funsies). Despite all of that, though, he still will put himself up on the line if someone else is gonna get hurt. I think he would like to live by the "confuse, don't abuse" motto when it comes to not only pranking his peers, but also just in his daily interactions with others as a whole.

Bottom line is: as concerned as Rusul is with keeping his own tail in tact, he knows his (and others') limits, and will NOT overstep those boundaries.

unfortunately i don't have any refs beyond what i drew, but he just has typical vampire traits (red eyes, claws, very pale, etc)

in my universe, vampires are more biologically plausible, so they have adaptations and they're mostly limited to what's natural. they aren't immortal, can't turn humans into vampires, etc. though it's not completely realistic, otherwise this story wouldn't exist lol

vampires can live to 1000 years. they're hardy, they can take injuries that would be fatal to a human (though they feel just as much pain), and are difficult to kill. yet that's exactly the problem for our unfortunate guy :)

hunters imprisoned and tortured him for over 300 years, never granting him the mercy of death. he's now merely a shell of who he once was, and he has no memory of his past or who he was (and honestly, i don't know either lmao)

as you may know, being tortured for centuries leaves irreparable trauma/mental damage, not only making him lose his memories but rendering him incapable of fending for himself. he can barely function, can hardly say anything other than apologies or pleas, etc. i think his brain has even lost significant mass (i have no idea if this is even possible but let's go with it lol)

in present day, he's out of there and with a caretaker, though i'll share more about that later, or if i ever get around to writing his story lmao

you didn't think last week that your saturday night would be spent waiting on your boyfriend's bed, dressed head to toe in a bunny girl outfit while you waited for him to get done showering. it originally began when nobara showed you a funny tiktok of someone else pranking their significant other while they were dressed in a bunny outfit, and you'd both joked about doing it to your respective significant others. you had teased nobara, doubting that maki would be flustered even by such an outfit, which then led her to tease you about how fushiguro wouldn't even bat an eye at it. and, well, here you are.

you want to blame nobara for this entire fiasco, but you can't help the scratch of curiosity you yourself have about your antisocial boyfriend's reaction. if you're being entirely honest, the thought of making him flustered makes you a bit giddy. you decide to wrap yourself in his bed covers, seeing that fushiguro's designated showering time is ending soon, and then duck your head under the covers like a child hiding from a monster. the door lock clicks, and you hear the familiar sound of the sliding door.

"what are you doing?" fushiguro asks, closing the door behind him as he makes his way over to the mound on his bed. you giggle and hug the covers closer.

"take a guess," you tease, and you were sure if you could see him he'd be rolling his eyes.

"i don't know," he responded bluntly, "are you cold? i'll warm you up." you could hear the slight grumble in his voice at the last part, clearly still getting used to voicing his affections. it made your heart flutter a little, and you decided to stop teasing, mostly because it was the first time today you'd be able to see your boyfriend's face. you quickly pulled the covers back, sitting up on his bed as you stared up at fushiguro with an innocent grin.

"wha?!-" fushiguro spluttered, pink immediately beginning to stain his cheeks. his mouth hang open as he stared at you, eyes rapidly glancing around your outfit. "what are you doing?" he asked, gulping obviously after his sentence.

"what do ya think?" you teasingly asked, deciding to stand up and give a quick spin around, only flustering fushiguro further. "maybe this should be my halloween outfit? oh, we could even match! you could be a magician-" fushiguro let out a noise similar to a growl, and the next thing you knew, you were back in his bed, covers one again wrapped around your body like a cloak.

"no." he said plainly, and you had to hold back your laughter.

"no? no what, love?" he scrunched up his face at the nickname, but you could tell he liked it just by the simple fact that he'd never told you to stop. your teasing smile dropped when he leaned in closer, his breath ghosting on your ear as he whispered,

"i wanna be the only one to see you that way."

...and now here you are, dressed in a bunny girl outfit, standing in the middle of your boyfriend, inumaki toge's, room. the outfit was bought last halloween as a complete joke between the three of you, and you had completely forgotten about it afterwards, keeping it in the deepest part of your closet. how had maki even come up with that on the spot? damn her brains. your phone pinged, vibrating on inumaki's desk where you had put it, and you glanced over to see nobara's text;

'he's coming!!'

the simple message made your heart pound, your head frantically snapping back to look at the door as you waited for your boyfriend to come through. you held your breath when you heard a key being inserted into the door, and a small noise of surprise when inumaki realised the door wasn't locked. he quickly understood that you were most likely in his room.

"kombu-" inumaki froze, quite literally froze. it reminded you of the times he'd unzipped his collar and whispered the words "don't move,", his enemies bodies going rigid just as his just did.

you began to speak, and then realised, what the fuck were you meant to say in this situation? you'd been so focused on when inumaki would come through the door, you hadn't even thought about what to say when he did. you quite literally felt the way your heart fluttered when you heard inumaki let out a quiet breath, and you heard him whisper,

"wow."

it was already rare to hear your boyfriend's soft voice, even when he was simply speaking in onigiri ingredients, and you were shocked that you had caused this much of a reaction from him.

inumaki finally took back control of his body as he dropped the plastic white bag full of late-night snacks he was out getting, quickly shutting the door behind him and rushing over to you. his arms snaked around your waist, and you stumbled when he pulled you from the middle of his room to his bed.

"toge!" you yelled, arms wrapping around him automatically. you giggled when he began bombarding you in kisses, kissing you on the tip of your nose, the corners of your mouth and continually along your jaw, each a sweet peck full of affection that was more than enough to convey inumaki's feelings. "toge," you whined, now lowering your voice, "maki and nobara are probably right outside the door!" inumaki continues to hold you close while he reaches into his shorts pockets, pulling out his phone and typing a quick message, still giving you sweet pecks as you read his text.

how do you paint metal?? owo

first, like i always say, find loads of ref pics and have them open right next to whatever metal thing you are painting. other than that, one trick i recentlyish learned is to not be afraid of a super hard and crisp pen when coloring metals! i usually use a soft edged pen at 65% opacity in sai to “layer” colors like glaze, which is how i shade, i dont actually,,, use any blending / painting tools ^-T BUT i found using a 100% opacity crisp hard pen for bold highlights look rly gud!

idk if u can rly tell but everything there is either 1. solid color 2. with a gradient / ambient light & glow airbrushed on 3. soft shaded with the low opacity brush and, 4. hard edge coloring on the metal candle holder and the highlights on candle. see how the candle pops from the other objects? idk it looks that way to me lol

maybe 1 can be a duller metal but for super reflective metal i suggest 2 or 3. at the very least make the highlight super hard and crisp!

it works for other reflective surfaces as well such as jewels or pearls, etc. dont forget colors reflect onto the shiny object, and the color of the object itself (esp if its reflective or translucent) will throw itself onto it’s cast shadow! if u have no idea wat im talking abt you can look up the physics of shadows and reflections~

and lastly, if u add a glow to a shiny object like metal or jewels or reflected light it looks so pleasant? just airbrush on a little bit of white or u can use a layer mode like luminosity / soft light / whatever else looks good! heres a sexi pic of madara lmfao
