and since i’m posting: that one episode of clone wars where anakin sends c3po to go buy fruit for padme’s banquet is so hilarious for me. because you know coruscant is a capitalist hellhole and the senate apartment building probably has its own built-in mega mall, and anakin sends c3po to the only outdoor market left on that planet to haggle for a deal. he’s so funny
#teddy talks#he’s me-coded but that’s another story for another time (never)#the fact that actually they needed anakin in the episode for any of it to even take place#because if he wasn’t there padme would have spubereats (space ubereats) the fruit from the mall downstairs to her door

Whoa! Pfatter University is just now recovering from a week-long cyberattack. Every device on campus was somehow infected by something called the Consu.m3 virus, causing all cell phones, computer monitors, and TV’s to display a hypnotic pattern 24/7. Anyone unlucky (or lucky?) enough to get caught staring into it succumbed to an insatiable appetite, consuming any nearby food as quickly as possible. If they ran out, they rabidly ordered and consumed mountain of takeout, mindlessly tossing their trash out the window. The traffic jam of UberEats and GrubHub delivery drivers has only just cleared up, and our groundskeepers are working overtime to clear all the styrofoam containers and candy wrappers off the quad.
Carlos, a computer science major, was the one who finally cracked the code, ridding our network of Consu.m3. He did let his greed get the best of him, though, and one late night in the lab found out how powerful the virus really could be …

Watch Carlos fall victim to the super-charged Consu.m3 virus by joining our Senior Class tier on Patreon!

EVERY TIME … ── c.dixon ౨ৎ ⋆。˚

summary : every time (sort of) that chris mentions you in a youtube video // hint : there’s a lot. a/n : happy birthday chris!! ik i said the next post would be an inside post, but it’s chris’ birthday so :) content : established relationship ,, mentions of childbirth and postpartum anxiety ,, sexual references & talks of sex
𐙚 Whenever he does his football challenge videos, he’s points at the camera and says ‘Reader, this is for you’ before scoring an impressive goal or missing miserably.
“Give it a rest, Chris, she probably doesn’t even watch your videos!” Theo complained. “That is the fifth time this video he’s said that.” George added. “How many of these do you think he makes the editor keep in?”
𐙚 Always mentions you in the podcast episodes when he goes on them (Fellas, Useless Hotline, Bach&Arthur) and is open but to an extent about your relationships. When Cal and Chip get him talking about kinks, he expresses what he’s into but makes sure to never reveal anything to haven’t already told him you’re okay with the world know.
“So, like, the maid shit, is reader into that?” Chip asks, fiddling with the microphone. “She can be, yeah, it really depends on her mood. I think she prefers lying down as opposed to being on top, so it’s a win win for both of us when we do that stuff.” Chris answered honestly.
𐙚 He makes sure to repeat everything said on the podcast back to you so you can tell him if you want it cut out or not, and if you do he’s never mad, all he does is send a quick text to Chip saying ‘reader wants this, this and this cut out please’ and it’s done with.
𐙚 When he did the cooking video with Arthur and George, you went out for the night with some friends and he was talking about you the whole time.
“Reader would think this is absolutely disgusting.” / “Arthur, I hope reader comes home and sees what you’ve done to her kitchen and beats you.” “Her kitchen?! You share the apartment with two other people!” Arthur exclaimed, but George butted in, “It is her kitchen, to be fair.”
𐙚 Adding on to the cooking thing, he brings up your food a lot, especially when he gets to that whiney, moaning state of tiredness in his videos. It happened in the North vs South video:
“God, I would kill for readers lasagne right now.” Chris groaned, resting his hands on his elbows. “Yeah, you’d like her beef and cream all over you, wouldn’t you?” Theo jeered. “Well, yeah, actually, because she’s my girlfriend?” “Can you just pop her a text and ask her to bring a family sized lasagne, I’m starving.” Will added.
𐙚 If he’s doing a video where he has to physically walk around London to complete challenges, he’ll walk past places and say “Oh, reader wants to go here for dinner.” or “Reader loves this shop, can we pop in so I can get her something?” (Always ends in him coming home with a special something he picked up from your favourite clothes shop).
𐙚 He knows your routine like the back of his hand. When it hits lunch time and filming ran overtime, he’ll order you something he knows you adore and screenshot the UberEats code and send it to you without saying anything else other than what he’s ordered. Example: ‘kfc boneless banquet for you x’ In response? Probably a tit pic, or underwear pic.
𐙚 When you have kids, he’ll mention it as much as possible. He’s so proud to be a dad and even prouder of the fantastic mother that you are. Also definitely talks about having his son/ daughter going into football, makes jokes about disowning them if they don’t want to but everyone knows he would never.
“Chris, what are you doing if child doesn’t want to play football?” Harry asked, to which Chris replied, “Mm, adoption, probably.”
𐙚 Rambles about you on the Three Peaks video so much because the only for him to get through 24 hours straight of hike, eat, sleep, repeat is to think about the love of his life. Since the video was a dedication to mental health, he talks about how having a baby affected both of your mental healths (his with more anxiety about the baby getting hurt and yours with just being drained 24/7)
“I know some of you are probably sat at home saying ‘Oh, where’s reader?’ ‘Reader would love to do this!’ Yes, she would, but she also gave birth a week ago and I have strictly forbidden her from doing any strenuous activity.” George makes a joke out of Chris’ statement, “Sounds like you’re holding her hostage mate.” “No, but I did tell her that I didn’t want her doing this in case she hurt herself, but … she didn’t really want to do this anyway. She’s been having major postpartum anxiety recently, and just hasn’t been sleeping well … but … we’re getting back on the right track.”
𐙚 He gets really excited to talk about you whenever someone asks about you. Even if it’s just a fleeting comment asking how you are, he can go on for hours and hours about the most recent date you went on, how you’re holding up with motherhood and just handling life in general. He’s 100% your biggest fan (even though he’s the famous one in the relationship).
𐙚 If he films a video with Bach or Chip, they will both end up talking to each other wondering if you and Liv/ Sabina are into the same stuff, in which the conversation vaguely goes something like this:
“Has Sabina been showing you this new dress style recently?” “Oh, yeah, non-stop. Has reader been showing you?” “Yeah, constantly. I think it’s trending.” “Are you gonna get it for her?” “Are you?” Followed by a simultaneous “…Yeah.”
𐙚 Always puts in a song you’ve been really enjoying recently, whether it’s in a clip interval or a beat-drop moment when someone scores, the song will be something you’ve had on repeat.
𐙚 His outro always has something to do with you, whether it’s mentioning your name or referencing something only you two would understand.
“Thanks for watching today’s video! Um … pie and chips for tea please, my love!” / “If you watched till the end, go follow my girlfriend @/yourusername right now!” / “Thank you for watching, here’s a cute clip of reader crying because child made their first steps. I want edits. Now.”

----------------------------------
Every night seemed to stretch into eternity for Ellie as she counted down the days to Saturday. The anticipation gnawed at her nerves, making even the simplest tasks feel insurmountable. Thursday Night was no different. She walked through the door, dropped her bag onto the floor of her small, organized room, and tried to dive into her usual routine to keep her mind occupied.
Ellie opened her desk drawer, pulling out her stack of neatly organized notebooks. She started with her math homework, scribbling equations and solving problems with a level of precision that Joel would’ve praised if he’d been home. But even with her focus honed on numbers, her mind wandered back to the thought of you—your laugh, your confident smile, and the way your skirt swayed when you walked away from her at your locker.
Shaking her head, Ellie forced herself to move on to her history assignment. The project you two were supposed to work on together loomed in her mind. Should she prepare some of it ahead of time? Would you even care if she did? The thought made her stomach twist, and before she knew it, she was flipping through pages of her textbook, jotting down notes for the upcoming project.
By 6:30 p.m., Ellie had completed her assignments for the week. But she wasn’t done. She pulled out another notebook, this one for biology, and began revising chapters they wouldn’t even cover until the next semester. Her handwriting remained flawless, her notes color-coded as always, but the words on the page blurred together. She groaned, leaning back in her chair. The clock on her desk read 7:00 p.m.
With a sigh, Ellie pushed away from her desk and headed downstairs. The house felt empty without Joel. He was working the night shift again, and the stillness made her feel uneasy. She wandered into the kitchen and opened the cupboard, hoping for a quick snack or something she could throw together for dinner. But the shelves were nearly bare, save for a can of soup and a box of stale crackers.
Frustrated, Ellie checked the fridge, but it wasn’t much better. She closed it with a huff and trudged back upstairs to grab her phone. Scrolling through her contacts, she found Joel’s name and pressed the call button.
It rang three times before his familiar voice answered, warm and reassuring. “Hey, Ellie! What’s up, kiddo?”
“Hey, Joel,” she said, a small smile tugging at her lips. “Umm, there’s nothing I can cook for dinner...”
“Oh, right!” Joel said, his tone brightening with realization. “I forgot to tell you, I left some money on the counter. Order yourself something nice, okay?”
Ellie’s heart sank. She hated the idea of interacting with strangers, even if it was just a delivery driver. “Yeah, okay,” she muttered, trying to keep the disappointment out of her voice.
After hanging up, Ellie reluctantly opened the UberEats app. She scrolled through the options, finally settling on a burger and fries from a local diner. At least this way, she wouldn’t have to talk to anyone. She could just grab the bag and retreat to her room.
When the food arrived, Ellie stood by the door for a full minute before mustering the courage to open it. She grabbed the bag from the delivery driver with a quiet “thanks” and quickly closed the door. Back upstairs, she set the food on her desk and turned on her laptop, deciding to distract herself with a YouTube video while she ate.
But even as she watched clips of a random gaming stream, her mind drifted back to Saturday. What would you wear? What would you talk about? Would you even like her?
Ellie pushed the thoughts aside and finished her dinner in silence. She cleaned up and spent the rest of the evening scrolling through her phone, occasionally opening your chat and rereading your short messages. By 10 p.m., she was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling.
The house felt too quiet without Joel’s familiar hum downstairs. Ellie wrapped herself in her blanket, trying to push away the ache of loneliness. She wanted to text you, but she didn’t want to seem desperate. Instead, she let herself imagine what Saturday might be like, her nerves and excitement battling each other until sleep finally claimed.
Friday night was a welcome change for Ellie. The days leading up to Saturday had felt agonizingly slow, but now, with only one more sleep separating her from seeing you, her excitement was at an all-time high. The thought of finally being around you again filled her with a nervous energy that bubbled over into her every action.
Joel was home tonight, which only added to the excitement. With him around, the house felt warmer and more alive, and she was glad for the distraction from her nerves. She decided to give herself a break from her relentless studying and headed downstairs, following the sound of Joel humming a tune as he cooked dinner in the kitchen.
“Hey, Joelllllll,” Ellie drawled, her voice tinged with playful charm.
Joel paused, his spatula hovering over the sizzling pan, and turned to her with a knowing smile. “Yeah, kiddo? What do you want?”
Ellie grinned, rocking on her heels. “Can we have a movie night tonight?” she asked, her voice full of hope and excitement.
Joel chuckled, wiping his hands on a dish towel. “Of course we can! I assume you wanna watch the Jurassic Park movies again?”
Ellie’s face lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. “Yes!” she cheered, clapping her hands together before dashing into the living room to get everything set up. She fluffed the couch cushions, grabbed a cozy blanket, and sorted through the movie collection until she found the first Jurassic Park.
Meanwhile, Joel plated the dinner—spaghetti and meatballs, a favorite for both of them—and brought it into the living room. “Ready?” he asked, balancing the plates and drinks as Ellie snuggled into the couch with the remote in hand.
“Ready!” she replied enthusiastically, pressing play as Joel set the food down on the coffee table and took his spot beside her.
The familiar sounds of roaring dinosaurs and adventurous theme music filled the room, and for a while, Ellie’s excitement about Saturday took a backseat to the thrill of the movies. They laughed together at the cheesy lines, shouted warnings at the characters who were inevitably about to get eaten, and debated which dinosaur was the coolest (Ellie was firmly Team Velociraptor, while Joel argued for the T-Rex).
As they moved on to the second and then the third movie, the hours ticked by unnoticed. By the time the credits rolled on the final film, the clock on the wall read 2 a.m.
Joel yawned and stretched, his arms extending above his head as he sat back on the couch. “Whew, that’s enough dinosaurs for one night,” he said with a tired chuckle. He glanced over at Ellie, expecting her to do the same, but she didn’t move.
“Ellie?” he called softly, leaning closer.
She didn’t respond. Her head had lolled to the side, her cheek resting against the back of the couch, and her chest rose and fell in the steady rhythm of sleep.
Joel smiled fondly, shaking his head. “Out like a light,” he murmured. He stood and carefully gathered the empty plates and glasses, setting them in the sink before returning to the living room.
He crouched beside the couch, gently brushing a strand of hair away from Ellie’s face. “Come on, kiddo, let’s get you to bed,” he said softly, but she didn’t stir.
Not wanting to wake her, Joel carefully scooped her up in his arms. She murmured something incoherent, her head resting against his chest as he carried her upstairs. Her room was just as tidy as always, the bed neatly made and her desk covered in perfectly organized stacks of notebooks and textbooks.
Joel pulled back the blankets and laid her down gently, tucking her in with care. He stepped back for a moment, watching her sleep peacefully. She looked so small and unguarded in that moment, a stark contrast to the driven, determined girl she was during the day.
“Big day tomorrow, huh?” Joel whispered with a smile. He reached down, brushing a hand over her hair before switching off the lamp on her nightstand.
As he closed the door behind him, he couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride. Ellie had grown into someone special, even if she didn’t always see it. He knew tomorrow meant a lot to her, and he silently hoped it would go as perfectly as she dreamed.
Back in her room, Ellie shifted slightly, a small smile tugging at her lips even in sleep. Saturday was just a few hours away, and even in her dreams, the thought of seeing you made her heart race.
Friday night for you was business as usual—the kind of night that perfectly matched your status as the popular girl. It wasn’t uncommon for weekends to blur into a whirl of parties, late-night adventures, and the kind of social life most people could only dream of. This time, it was at your best friend Olivia’s house. Her parents were conveniently away for the weekend, which meant only one thing: the unofficial party of the year.
The music was loud, the drinks were flowing, and the house was packed with what felt like the entire senior year. People danced in the living room, spilled onto the patio, and crowded the kitchen. Olivia was in her element, commanding the room like the queen she was, while you stayed nearby, laughing and making rounds to talk to everyone who came up to you. You wore a sleek, black mini-dress paired with heels that clicked confidently against the hardwood floor, effortlessly drawing attention wherever you went.
As the hours passed, the crowd began to thin. One by one, people filtered out, leaving just you, Olivia, Nat, Sara, and Alex sprawled across the living room couches in various states of exhaustion and tipsiness. It was well past midnight, but none of you were ready to call it a night just yet.
"Should we go get ice cream?" Olivia suggested, her voice still buzzing with energy despite the hour.
"At, like, 2 a.m.?" Alex asked, half-laughing.
"Why not?" you chimed in, already grabbing your bag. The suggestion seemed to electrify the group. Within minutes, you were all piled into Olivia's car, driving to the 24-hour ice cream shop on the other side of town.
By the time you arrived, the initial excitement had been replaced with ravenous hunger. The alcohol buzz was wearing off, and you all devoured your ice cream as if it were a five-star meal. You sat at the table, laughing about the night’s chaos, trading stories, and planning the rest of the weekend.
Eventually, you excused yourself to the bathroom, leaving the table and your half-eaten ice cream behind. But when you returned, the booth was empty. At first, you assumed they were messing with you—Olivia especially loved pulling pranks—but when you stepped outside and didn’t see the car anywhere, the truth hit you like a truck.
They had left you.
You stood in the parking lot, blinking in disbelief, your breath hitching as you tried to process what had just happened. Panic and embarrassment clawed at your chest, and the alcohol in your system didn’t help. Before you knew it, hot tears spilled down your cheeks. You tried calling Olivia, then Nat, then Sara, but no one answered. Each voicemail made your stomach sink further, the feeling of being stranded alone in the middle of the night overwhelming you.
In your haze, it didn’t even occur to you to call an Uber or a taxi. Instead, you unlocked your phone and opened Instagram, scrolling mindlessly until one profile caught your eye: Ellie’s.
She wasn’t your first thought. You barely knew her beyond the project you were working on together. But something about her—maybe the way she’d seemed so eager to help earlier that week—made you pause. You didn’t even think twice before sending a flurry of frantic messages.
notyourfriend Hi Please wake up Ellie, I need help Ellie
Ellie groggily woke to the rapid vibration of her phone. She fumbled for it on her bedside table, squinting at the screen. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw your name, and for a moment, she wondered if it was a dream.
Ellie_TheDino What’s up? Is everything okay? notyourfriend Finally Ellie_TheDino y/n, are you okay? notyourfriend Can you call?
Ellie didn’t hesitate, her thumb hovering over the green button before pressing it. The phone barely rang once before you answered, and the sound of your shaky sobs immediately put her on edge.
“Hey! What’s going on? Are you okay?” Ellie’s voice cracked slightly, her usual awkwardness amplified by her nerves.
“I-I was at an ice cream s-shop with my friends, and I went to the b-bathroom, and now they’re g-gone,” you stammered, barely able to get the words out through your crying.
“Okay, okay, just breathe,” Ellie said, trying to steady her own voice as much as yours. “I’ll come get you, alright? Just—just tell me where you are.”
You sniffled, giving her the name of the ice cream shop. Ellie repeated it back to make sure she got it right, already scrambling out of bed. She grabbed Joel’s truck keys from the kitchen counter, scribbled a quick note explaining her absence, and bolted out the door.
It should have been a 10-minute drive, but Ellie’s nerves turned it into five. As she pulled into the parking lot, her eyes immediately landed on you, huddled near the bench outside, arms wrapped around yourself to ward off the cold. She stepped out of the truck, awkwardly adjusting her oversized Spider-Man T-shirt and mismatched sweatpants.
“Y/n?” she called, hesitantly approaching you.
You looked up, your tear-streaked face softening slightly at the sight of her. Without a word, she handed you a gray hoodie she’d grabbed from the backseat. You threw it on without hesitation and pulled her into a hug, clinging to her as if she were your lifeline.
“Thank you so much, AEllie,” you whispered, your voice muffled against her neck.
Ellie’s cheeks turned scarlet, her hands hovering awkwardly before she tentatively wrapped them around you. “Uh, yeah, no problem. Are you—are you okay? Like, besides, uh, this?” she stammered, her words coming out in a rush.
You nodded, pulling back slightly. “Can you just take me home? I can’t go back to them.”
Ellie helped you into the truck, carefully typing your address into Google Maps. As the voice-guided directions filled the silence, she glanced over and saw you had already fallen asleep, your head resting against the window.
As Ellie pulled up to your address, the calm voice of her GPS announced, “You have arrived at your destination.” Her eyes widened as she came face-to-face with an imposing gate, complete with intricate designs and a keypad entry system. The size and elegance of it left her feeling slightly out of her depth.
She sat there for a moment, staring at the gate before glancing over at you. You were slumped against the window, eyes half-closed but still awake. Ellie sighed and gently nudged your shoulder.
“Hey, uh, we’re here… but there’s a gate. What should I do?” Ellie’s voice was hesitant, almost apologetic.
You stirred, groaning softly as you straightened up. “It’s fine. I can walk from here,” you mumbled, already reaching for the door handle.
Ellie’s hand shot out instinctively, her voice coming out louder than she intended. “No!”
You froze, startled, and turned to look at her. “Sorry! I just—um—look, I can’t just leave you here. What if you pass out or something? It’s… uh, it’s not safe,” Ellie stammered, her cheeks turning pink.
You sighed, the exhaustion evident in your voice. “Okay, okay. The gate code is 8018.”
Ellie nodded quickly, hopping out of the truck and making her way to the keypad. Her hands fumbled a bit as she punched in the numbers, the gate groaning to life as it slid open. She scurried back to the driver’s seat, muttering, “Fancy gate, geez…” under her breath, and drove up the long driveway.
Her jaw dropped as your house came into view. It wasn’t just big—it was a mansion, complete with towering columns, immaculate landscaping, and enough windows to light up a small town.
“Holy moly…” Ellie muttered, her nerdy tendencies slipping through. “This is, uh, really nice. Like, billionaire-nice.”
She parked the truck near the front entrance and hurried to your side, opening the door for you. You stepped out unsteadily, leaning against her for support. Ellie awkwardly wrapped an arm around your waist, helping you up the steps to the grand double doors.
Once inside, the sheer size of the entryway left her gawking. “Okay, wow. This place is like—uh—something out of Architectural Digest. Where’s your room?”
You gestured vaguely toward the stairs. “Upstairs… third floor…”
Ellie’s eyebrows shot up. “Third floor? Are you serious?” She eyed the grand staircase nervously, already dreading the climb.
You shook your head. “Take the lift,” you said, pointing to an elevator tucked discreetly into the wall.
“Oh. Right. Of course, there’s an elevator,” Ellie mumbled to herself, guiding you toward it.
Once inside, Ellie’s eyes darted over the panel. “This thing has more buttons than Joel’s old TV remote…” she muttered, pressing the number three.
The elevator doors slid open to reveal a sprawling hallway. You led her down the corridor to your room, which was so large it could have easily been a small apartment. Ellie’s mouth fell open as she took in the plush furniture, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a bed that looked like it belonged in a five-star hotel.
You collapsed onto the bed without a second thought. Ellie hesitated, then began searching through your drawers until she found a pair of pink tracksuit pants and an oversized white shirt. She handed them to you, her gaze averted.
“Uh, here. You can, uh, change into these,” she said, shuffling awkwardly toward the door. “I’ll just, um, wait out here. Take your time!”
Ellie paced nervously in the hallway, glancing at her phone every so often. She had no idea how long it would take you to change, but she didn’t want to rush you. After about 30 minutes, she heard your voice call out, “Done!”
When she re-entered the room, you were lying in bed, your makeup still smudged from the night. Ellie hesitated, then walked over to your vanity and grabbed a pack of makeup wipes.
“Uh, I think we should, like, take this off. Your makeup, I mean. It’s not good to sleep in it, right?” she said, her voice uncertain.
You gave a small nod, too tired to argue. Ellie gently wiped your face, her touch careful and deliberate. As she worked, she couldn’t help but notice how stunning you looked without the makeup—your natural beauty left her momentarily speechless.
Her phone buzzing in her pocket snapped her out of her thoughts. She pulled it out, sighing when she saw Joel’s name on the screen.
“Ellie! Are you okay?” Joel’s voice was filled with concern.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine,” Ellie said quickly, glancing at you to make sure you were still resting comfortably. “I, uh, just had to help someone get home. I’m heading back now.”
Joel let out a relieved sigh. “You’re a good kid, you know that? Just don’t stay out too late.”
“Got it. Be home soon,” Ellie replied, hanging up.
She turned back to you, pulling the blanket up to your shoulders before quietly slipping out of the room. As she made her way back to the truck, she couldn’t help but smile, feeling oddly proud of herself for the night’s events.

had my second high definition viewing of atsv in the theater today and here are my favorite details that i missed due to being overwhelmed on my first viewing:
LONG AF POST:
-gwen is literally wearing a rainbow shaped trans pride pin on her jacket with her prom outfit. she's soooo so canon trans <3
-captain stacy HAS A TRANS FLAG PATCH ON HIS POLICE UNIFORM JACKET?????? when i'm telling u my eyes popped out of my head 😳 SHES SO CANON TRANS!!!
-poster outside miles's guidance counselor's office reads: "visions sciences: telling you your story".
-parallel of miles's and gwen's dad kicking things out of general exasperation towards the beginning and end of the movie respectively
-when miles as spidey is talking to his dad and giving him advice (for himself) there's a reference to miles possibly reading vonnegut? (maybe in class??) "if this isn't nice what is" is a collection of kurt vonnegut's commencement speeches. (literally subtitled "advice to the young". the writers were extremely clever for this reference. if not reading it in class, miles has been searching up life advice on his own)
-i barely caught this but i'm PRETTY sure that in miles' room near his door there's a MICHELLE OBAMA presidential race sticker??? was president obama in the earth-1610 dimension michelle obama?? iconic if so
-fedex on earth-1610 is REDEX
-gayatri seems like they took elements of both gwen (police dad) and mj (young model) for her background as i believe i caught her visible on a "zomato" ad billboard (which appears to be the earth-50101 version of ubereats)
-i spent all of hobie's scenes trying to pick up the details of his many pins; but the only one that i could really make out with the quick shot changes besides the union jack pin was the one right above it, which is a three-leaf clover. i wondered if maybe it had some kind of significance to maybe irish independence or smth but i couldn't find anything online that backed that up so not sure what it means. if u know pls drop it in the replies.
-hobie's boots are definitely NOT ladder laced. i KNOW there is concept art and poster art of him with ladder laces but in the actual movie they are 100% crossed. also unlike the poster art, both boots have blue laces, not one blue, one yellow/orange. i wanted to be all on board the ladder lace code train but i'm pretty sure they just made his laces blue so that they could contrast against the red boots and be spidey colors. they probably abandoned the ladder lace part of the visual when someone realized what blue ladder laces meant in lace code. "HAS hobie killed a cop," you ask? given his comic backstory i'd say the odds are HIGH. but i would bet they didn't want people to think that since he's gone through canon event asm-90 ("a police captain close to spider-man is killed by falling rubble during a battle with a nemesis") that there's any possibility THAT was the cop he killed and he's proud of it (since it's supposed to be all abt character development from the ✨trauma✨ of the event)
-during the whole "intervention" scene, while all the other spider-people are facing directly in towards miles and miguel from wherever they are standing in the circle, hobie is the only one whose back is turned. he watches most of the scene over his shoulder. also, during a couple shots facing miles before the entire society of spiders show up, hobie is separated in the shot from all the other main spiders (Peter B, Gwen, Jess, etc) BY MILES. he is visible over one shoulder and everybody else is visible over the other. these two details are great signals of hobie having already MORALLY turned his back on miguel's authoritarianism, as well as giving a nice inverted "devil/angel on the shoulders" nod.
-peter b asks miguel to take a picture of him and mayday since it's her first chase; miguel brushes him off but mayday understands and uses her webshooter to click the camera button on peter b's phone and take a selfie without him noticing 😂😂😂 shes everything to me
-when miguel is pinning miles to the train, after gwen and peter b have caught up, there is a very fast moment when miles calls for help ("PETER!!") and peter doesn't reply to him, but calls out to miguel to calm down (smth like that) instead 🥲 peter for the love of god step up your mentor game and look out for this kid i can't handle it anymore
-when gwen takes the watch hobie made her out of the box, the screen is briefly visible and reads "project botleg". bootleg -> bot -> "botleg"; I SEE YOU HOBIE. people think he's so cool (and he is!!) but he's also just as much of a dork as all the other spiders. what a goofball
-in miles-42's room, a speed bag/speed ball/maize ball is attached to his wall near the door. there are other substantial differences to their rooms, but i think this is clearly a reference to uncle aaron-42's large presence in miles-42's life, given the association from both movies of aaron with the punching bag and miles getting guidance from him/looking to him for support.
-in addition to all the miles-1610 vs miles-42 prowler vs spidey reflection imagery in the end credits, guess who else has several moments of flashing from spider-man colors (red and black at least) to prowler colors (purple and green)?? miguel, that's who. miguel and miles-42/uncle aaron-42 team-up in beyond the spiderverse? or just an extra parallel for the antagonists sharing goals/possibly methods?
OKAY ANYWAY if ppl want i can try and dig up images of some of these but i figured that would make this post long af so that's all for now folks!! go see across the spider verse again and marvel at how much more fine detail you find like me 🕸🕸🕸

🔞 Five Star (Chanlix) 🔞

Synopsis: Chris is a depressed college student. Felix is the hot delivery guy who shows up at his door.
Tags: Unprotected sex (obvs), depression, massages that turn into sex, pet names
A/N: This is literally your classic pizza guy porno trope. Happy Sunday Night!
Chris clicked “place order” on the UberEats app and tossed his phone to the side. He had 10 notifications from his school email that he was ignoring. Half were from his professors. He hadn’t been to class in over 2 weeks. After the fight with his parents at the beginning of the year over changing his major, and surrendering to their desire that he stick with his business major instead of switching to music, he’d barely left his apartment. He’d taken a music theory class as an elective the previous semester and fallen in love. His parents insisted it wasn’t practical and they’d stop paying for his tuition and apartment if he changed his major. So Chris had given up. On all of it.
He’d been awake for at least 24 hours and he couldn’t quite remember the last time he showered. He was singlehandedly keeping the kids who worked for his zip code of UberEats in business. Chris shuffled into the kitchen and pulled a beer out of the fridge. His phone went off right as he sat back down.
Felix is on his way with your order.
“Huh,” Chris mused. That was an unusual name. Of course one of the previous drivers was named Neveah so maybe it wasn’t that unusual. He took a sip of his beer and leaned his head back on the couch. He hated feeling like this, but he wasn’t sure how to fix it. A loud knock made him jump.
“Yeah, hold on!” he grabbed his wallet and opened the door.
“Double cheeseburger extra bacon and large fries and onion rings for Chris?” the delivery guy, apparently named Felix, read off the tag. He was hot. He was really hot. He was lean with blonde hair and freckles dusting his nose and cheeks with what Chris could only describe as the face of a god. The second thing he noticed was he was Korean. Chris only knew one other Korean in the whole school. He couldn’t stop himself from staring.
“Is that right?” Felix asked, prodding Chris for a response.
“Yeah, yeah that’s me. I’m Chris,” he said, fumbling with his wallet for the tip.
“Well, Chris, your arteries might slam shut after this,” Felix smiled.
“Maybe,” he handed Felix a $10 bill. He reached in his pocket to get change.
“No, keep it,” Chris insisted.
“That’s like a 75% tip,” the other boy pointed out.
“I know,” Chris knew he was still staring.
“Are you...okay?” Felix asked. It was the first time anyone had bothered to ask him for the sake of asking. Chris couldn’t stop his eyes from welling up behind his glasses.
“No, no I’m not okay,” he shook his head. He clutched his food bag and tried not to start sobbing in the hallway.
“Hey, whatever it is, it’ll work out,” Felix said.
“It won’t. It really won’t,” tears fell on Chris’s glasses and the bag.
“Can I come in?” the delivery boy with the face of an angel asked.
“Sure,” Chris sniffed.
He carefully took Chris’s elbow and stepped inside, steering them to the couch. The apartment looked like a depressed person lived there. It was a mess with old food containers from previous meals scattered on various surfaces. Felix gently took the bag from him and placed it on the coffee table, shoving trash out of the way to do it.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” he asked.
“It’s my parents,” Chris confessed. “If I don’t stay in the major they want me to stay in then they’ll cut me off. I have to stay the perfect Korean son, you know? I got a B for the first time in my life last semester. I’m lucky I’m smart or I would’ve flunked completely. Of course, now I’m flunking because I haven’t gone to class in weeks. I hate my major so much, though. I’m miserable.”
“What do you want to do?” Felix asked, his voice deep and soothing.
“Music. I took a music theory class last semester and it just...spoke to me. I’m in business right now and it’s awful. It’s boring and my classmates all think they’re gonna be CEOs one day. We’re in Indiana for fuck’s sake,” he looked up after he cussed. “Sorry.”
“No worries,” the other boy smiled. “I’m a delivery guy because my parents didn’t want me giving up a full ride scholarship to Stanford for the dance program here.”
“You dance?” Chris asked. Felix nodded.
“It’s my life. I’m good at other stuff, but dance has my soul. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. They basically disowned me, but I know they’ll get over it when I make it big someday. Then I’ll be the good Korean son,” he smiled.
“So you get it,” Chris took off his glasses and wiped his eyes.
“I definitely get it,” Felix put his hand on top of Chris’s.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be holding you up. You should go,” he said.
“You were my last delivery. It is almost 1am,” Felix told him. Chris looked at his watch. He’d even totally lost track of time.
“Then you should go home. You probably have class…” Chris began.
“Honestly? I hate my roommates and try to stay out of there as much as possible. I’m happy to stay as long as you need someone to sit with you,” Felix replied.
“Are you sure? I don’t want to guilt you into anything,” Chris said.
“I’m the only boy. Guilt has no effect on me anymore,” Felix laughed a little.
“I’m an only child,” Chris said.
“Oh shit, that’s rough,” Felix winced.
“Yeah. I guess guilt still does work on me,” he said.
“Not everyone is as resistant as I am,” the other boy grinned. “You should eat. I’m sure your burger is cold by now.”
“Like I haven’t eaten cold Chinese food for a week,” Chris laughed, but it sounded more like a sob.
“Changed it up, huh?” Felix teased.
“I was getting sick of Kung Pao chicken,” he replied. He opened the bag then looked at Felix. “I’m sorry. I can share.”
“I’ll just have an onion ring. However, I will take a beer if you’ve got any left,” Felix eyed the bottle on the table.
“They’re in the fridge. Help yourself,” Chris replied.
“Thanks,” Felix got his beer then sat back down. Chris had already finished half the fries and onion rings combo.
“Damn, you were hungry,” Felix observed.
“Actually not really. I think I make up for not sleeping by eating,” the other responded.
“How long have you been awake?” he asked. Chris thought for a second.
“Well, I thought it was 24 hours, but if it’s 1am then it’s really more like 27 or 28,” he replied.
“You haven’t slept in 27 or 28 hours?” Felix did a very poor job hiding his surprise. Chris shook his head.
“You need to sleep,” he insisted.
“I can’t. I’ve tried. I end up staring at the ceiling because my brain won’t stop spinning,” Chris sighed. Felix shifted a little in his seat.
“I know I’m a total stranger, but I know a lot of massage techniques so maybe I could give you a massage before I go?” he suggested.
“That would be nice,” Chris replied, dropping his gaze.
“You wouldn’t need to get naked. I can work just fine over clothes,” he was quick to add.
But what if I want to? Chris thought.
“I like that idea,” was what came out instead.
“After you shower then,” he suggested.
“I...don’t remember when’s the last time I took a shower,” Chris blushed.
“Then I guess I’ll just have to drag you in there and make sure you do it,” Felix seemed completely unphased by his statement. He seemed completely unphased by all of it. Chris was sitting there in a shirt that was falling apart and dirty sweatpants. He may or may not have smelled bad. Yet this stranger seemed okay with it. Though Chris supposed he wasn’t a total stranger. Felix understood what it felt like to be the perfect son and the crushing weight that came with it. He wasn’t only gorgeous, he was ballsy.
“You’re staring,” Felix said.
“Oh, sorry,” Chris immediately looked down at his lap again. Felix laughed softly, but it wasn’t hurtful. It was indulgent.
“I’m used to being stared at,” he told him. “Hazard of the profession.”
“Right,” Chris dared to look up.
“And I also know how hot I am,” he smirked. Chris felt his whole body blush. If that was even possible.
“I...you...I didn’t mean to…” Chris stuttered. Felix put his hand on top of Chris’s.
“Hey, I’m not gonna take advantage of you. I can tell you’re not doing well. I just want to help,” he insisted.
“Thank you. I mean, not that I thought you would. I haven’t had a guy like you ever even remotely try to flirt with me,” he replied.
“And what kind of guy am I?” Felix grinned.
“Nice, hot, brave enough to stick it to your parents,” Chris said, averting his eyes again. Felix gently turned his chin back to look at him.
“I have a feeling you’re pretty nice and hot when you aren’t stuck in this vicious cycle,” he said.
“You think so?” Chris was genuinely surprised by the compliment.
“Let’s get you showered and I’ll give you the best massage of your life,” Felix smiled softly.
“Okay,” he nodded. Felix got up and put the leftovers in the fridge. He pulled Chris up off the couch. He was strong for his size. Very strong.
“I’ll take care of you, Chris,” he told Chris when he bumped up against his chest.
“You will?” Chris tightened his grip on Felix’s hands.
“I will,” Felix confirmed.
“Thank you,” Chris whispered.
“You’re welcome. Now let’s get you showered,” he said. Felix started the shower and pulled Chris’s top off over his head. They stared at each other for a moment.
“You can take your shoes off since you’re gonna be here a while,” he said.
“Right,” Felix looked down at his feet. “Don’t go anywhere.”
Chris took the opportunity to take off his sweatpants and underwear and get in the shower. He was closing the curtain when Felix came back.
“You could’ve just told me you wanted to preserve your modesty,” he said. Chris was glad Felix couldn’t see his face.
“You did need to take off your shoes,” he replied.
“Fair enough. Should I get you clean clothes?” Felix asked.
“I’ll be okay with the towel,” Chris thought for a moment.
“Now you’re getting risqué,” the other boy teased, sitting on the closed lid of the toilet. “Make sure you scrub everything.”
This guy really knew how to make him blush. Chris went as quickly as he could while remembering to wash his hair along with everything else. He shut off the water.
“Towel please,” Felix passed it to him without pulling back the curtain. Chris wrapped it around his waist and stepped out. Felix gave him a quick once over.
“Not bad,” he grinned.
“Thank you,” Chris replied quietly.
“Just the truth,” Felix followed him into the bedroom.
“How do you want it? You can put your clothes back on or any level of undress you’re comfortable with,” he said. Chris took a deep breath.
“If I cover myself with only the towel?” he asked.
“I promise I will remain professional. I won’t touch you anywhere you don’t want me to,” Felix told him. Chris knew he was serious.
“Okay,” he nodded.
“Got any lotion?” Felix asked.
“Top drawer,” the other replied as he settled on the bed. Chris hoped Felix would ignore the other 2 things in the drawer. At least for the moment. Felix didn’t say anything as he pulled out the bottle of lotion and settled next to one of Chris’s legs.
“Are your feet ticklish?” he asked.
“No,” Chris shook his head.
“Then I’ll start there,” Felix slowly started massaging Chris’s feet. He had no idea they were that tired and sore when he was barely walking around his apartment.
“Feel good?” Felix asked.
“Yeah, really good,” Chris replied. Felix moved up his calves. “So what year are you?”
“Sophomore. I’m 20,” Chris said, propping his chin up on his folded arms.
“I’m a freshman. Gonna have my 19th birthday next month,” Felix replied. “Damn you’ve got some knots in your calves.”
“You can go harder. If you need to,” Chris told him. Felix leaned more of his weight down on Chris’s legs.
“You’re definitely gonna make me work,” Felix laughed a little.
“You don’t have to,” Chris started.
“I told you I’d do it, so I’m gonna do it,” he slowly worked his way up Chris’s body until he reached the edge of the towel covering his ass.
“What do you want me to do?” he asked.
“Ummm, work on my back first?” Chris suggested.
“Sure,” Felix positioned himself on the back of Chris’s thighs and began working out his tense back muscles. He felt himself relax for the first time in weeks under Felix’s hands.
“Wow,” Felix said.
“What?” Chris asked.
“You’re making some pretty suggestive sounds there,” he grinned.
“I was?” Chris turned to look at him. Felix leaned down so his chest was almost flush with Chris’s back.
“The only time I make a guy sound like that is when I have my cock in his ass and I’m fucking him into the mattress,” he breathed against Chris’s ear.
“Would you...do that to me?” Chris swallowed hard.
“Only if you want me to,” Felix replied. “Though I would’ve thought you’d be a top.” Chris shook his head.
“I am very much a bottom,” he replied. He rolled over under Felix so he was fully exposed, half hard, with a fully clothed Felix straddling him.
“What do you want from me?” Felix asked, not so subtlety eyeing Chris’s dick.
“I want you inside me, but...be gentle…” he stumbled over the words.
“Do you want me to make love to you?” Felix raised an amused eyebrow.
“I hate that term, but yes,” Chris consented.
“I can do that,” Felix pulled off his shirt and tossed it somewhere to the side. He leaned down and carefully kissed Chris. It was like an electric shock when their skin touched. For as much as Felix was trying to be gentle and take it slow, a fire ignited in the cores of their beings. Chris pulled Felix closer, licking into his mouth, holding onto his cheeks.
“I need you, Felix. I need you so much,” he breathed, eyes glossing over with tears again.
“It’s okay. I’m right here,” Felix reassured him, kissing his nose, cheeks, then his lips. “I’m right here.”
Felix managed to sit up long enough to wrestle out of the rest of his clothes and get the condoms and lube. Chris pulled him back down almost immediately.
“I’m gonna take good care of you. Don’t worry, baby,” he cooed as he lubed up his fingers. He teased at Chris’s rim causing his breath to hitch. “Relax, baby. I have to prep you.”
“Okay,” Chris replied. Felix carefully slid one long, thin finger in then another one quickly behind it. He slowly massaged Chris’s sensitive inner walls, feeling him relax under his touch. Once he had 3 fingers in, he began to scissor Chris’s hole open. Chris dropped his head against the pillow and sighed.
“Feel good, baby?” Felix asked.
“Uh huh,” Chris breathed. “It’s been a while.”
“I’ll be gentle until you tell me otherwise,” Felix kissed him slowly, withdrawing his fingers.
“Felix…” Chris whined when he felt empty.
“Don’t worry,” Felix sat up and rolled on the condom ensuring it was generously lubed. Chris didn’t even have to be prompted to spread his legs. Felix pushed into him gently, watching for signs of pain or distress. Chris pulled him down against his chest and wiggled his hips, fully seating Felix inside him. He placed panting kisses on the corners of the other boy’s mouth.
“We’ve got time, baby,” Felix smiled. Chris looked up at him.
“Go deep. I want to feel you in my lungs,” he breathed.
“I don’t think I’m quite that big, but I’ll do my best,” Felix laughed, showing his dimples. He brushed Chris’s bangs back and began grinding his hips hard against Chris’s pelvis. Chris was dying for a connection. Maybe this was the wrong way to go about it, but it felt good. It felt right - having the delivery boy buried balls deep in him. Then Felix brushed his prostate for the first time.
“Fuck!” he grunted.
“Found somewhere good?” Felix teased. Chris nodded. Felix lied down so his entire body was on top of Chris’s and rolled his hips.
“You want me to finish you fast or keep going?” he asked, his face in Chris’s neck.
“Surprise me,” Chris replied, barely above a whisper. Felix kissed him hard, brushing his most sensitive spot with every roll of his hips. Chris whined into his mouth as he felt his orgasm building.
“Stay with me,” he breathed against Chris’s mouth. Felix snapped his hips into Chris two, three times and then Chris came hard between them. Chris was writhing around, smearing come all over both of them. Felix emptied into the condom with a feral growl. Chris dimly registered Felix pulling out and disposing of the condom. He felt him get off the bed then a warm, wet cloth on his chest.
“Gotta clean you up,” Felix smiled at him. “We made a mess.”
“Oh, thanks,” Chris gave him a sleepy smile. Felix carefully cleaned him until he was satisfied then put the washcloth back in the bathroom. He crawled back in bed and Chris wrapped his arms around him. Then Felix started to laugh.
“What’s so funny?” Chris asked.
“This is like a bad porno. You banged the pizza guy only I was delivering a burger instead of pizza,” Felix replied, rolling his head over to look at the other boy. Chris started to laugh too.
“I guess I did,” he grinned.
“The delivery guy is happy to bang you whenever you want,” Felix cuddled up next to him.
“I think I might actually be able to sleep,” Chris yawned.
“Then you’re gonna have to keep me around so I can fuck you to sleep regularly,” Felix kissed him.
“I like that plan,” Chris hugged him.
“Go to sleep. I’ll be here when you wake up,” Felix told him.
“Thank you,” Chris felt the weight of those words deep in his chest.
“You’re welcome,” Felix smiled. “Now sleep.”
Chris rolled over with Felix cuddled behind him and fell into a deep, dreamless sleep. This was good. This was very good.

just saw an ad for eharmony where a guy got his gf to pop a massive zit on his back in front of the tv i can't do this anymore like am i crazy for wanting at the very least a temporary comb your hair and check your breath level of romantic formality like even just for fun? like real intimacy isn't always pretty but i prefer those deeper levels to be earned by changing seasons and the full bloom and decay of superficial fantasy. a waning honeymoon phase is great compost for true, imperfect romance. i don't want to fill out a fucking survey like a cheat code just to skip right past mystery and chance and discovery to get to unbuttoned, pally comfort with someone but it just feels like the bar keeps getting lower and convenience is god and wanting anything more than parallel subsistence, couch dates and ubereats is seen as some deluded stuck up pipedream. like if everything just keeps shrinking faster and faster into a world of his and hers disney+ profiles and shitting with the door open as a love language i'm gonna hoard every birthday, valentines day and anniversary target gift card and find out how many smart home toasters it will take to kill myself and take down the power grid at the same time

Crowdstrike things I haven’t seen talked about
The binary code that crashed the boot driver was all zeros. I wonder if a malicious actor could crash a machine running CrowdStrike by adding a file full of zeros.
They claimed their system “gracefully handle[s] exceptions”. One that didn’t have null exceptions (exceptions for 0’s)
They bypassed staging, which is why so many companies got hit so bad
(Update) they didn’t do staggered updates! At all!
THEY (most likely) WEREN’T USING LOCAL DEVELOPER TESTING
Crowdstrike gave their contractors 10 buck UberEats gift cards as a reward.
Said gift cards were refunded because UberEats thought there was fraud

What is the Best Mobile Application Development Framework, Flutter, or React Native?

As an ever-increasing number of individuals are accepting modernized innovation in technology, the interest in mobile applications has expanded step by step.
Hybrid mobile frameworks are acquiring prevalence. The presence of React Native (RN) in 2015 opened astounding chances to assemble applications for iOS and Android utilizing one codebase. Thus, it permitted us to solve two problems at once and not rework a similar code two times. Large firms like UberEats, Discord, and Facebook moved to React Native, a powerful promotion.
Google didn’t stand separated; they saw the immense popularity of RN. Subsequently, Google presented an alpha version of its hybrid framework called Flutter in 2017. Flutter likewise turned into an extremely famous framework. The improvement of a framework like React Native prompts confusion over what to decide for hybrid mobile app development:
React Native or Flutter? Nonetheless, there’s another significant inquiry which you ought to choose before this: Is it better to develop a hybrid or native mobile apps?
Both cross- platform application has its upsides and downsides and prevalence
Flutter
Flutter is an open-source mobile application development Software tool sh that has design & created by Google. It had its main release in May 2017. Flutter has composed into the C, C++, Dart, and Skia Graphics Engine. Flags have been created by Google. Creating Android and Android applications is additionally utilized. The SDK is free and sent off as a source designer to explore and make strong, powerful applications around.
Why choose to Flutter for Android and iOS mobile application development?
Cross-platform
Hot Reload
High compatibility with programming languages
Faster and improved native performance
Appealing UI
Accessible SDKs and native features
The functional and reactive framework
React Native
React Native is a structural framework made by Facebook that permits us to foster local mobile applications for iOS and Android with a solitary JavaScript codebase.
React native is a genuine mobile application, additionally open-source application development system which is created by Facebook. Rouse that ideas should be created on the web for mobile development. Reactive native is accustomed to making iOS and Android applications. IT was delivered in March 2015. In such a manner, JavaScript is created. Notwithstanding, the application appearance is by all accounts a native app.
Why choose to React Native forAndroid and iOS app development?
Seamless and synchronous API
Seamless and synchronous API
Quick performance
Greater reach
Which is Better: Flutter or React Native?
Flutter ranks positions higher with 75.4% and React Native likewise cut with 62.5% among most cherished frameworks.
Both Flutter and React Native are famous and exceptionally used by the application developers for the development of cross-platform applications. Every single one of them has their one-of-a-kind upsides and downsides, stability in development, speed, and much more.
Flutter is a new framework, and it is expanding and growing slowly and gradually. Compared to Flutter, React Native is in the industry for a long time now. Hence, it is mature enough that leading brands have experienced its benefits of it. While Flutter is yet to have such strong case studies.
The choice of the right framework can be best done based on your mobile app requirements.
Flutter is new in the framework market, and it is extending and developing gradually and slowly. Contrasted with Flutter, React Native is in the business for quite a while now. Thus, mature an adequate number of leading brands have encountered its advantages of it. While Flutter is yet to have areas of strength for such investigations study.

Me getting that refund from Ubereats 'cos they failed to deliver to my address. So I ended up not getting my order, as my order was somewhere else. I double-checked to make sure that my address was correct. Including my post code and house number. But nope, in the end, half of my post code was missing once again, and my house number wasn't there. Ubereats is no longer my friend, Deliveroo is my bestie now. ( Because I ordered from them twice now, and just-- my god, the service is so good and they get to my address without any problems, no post code cut off. Seeing that delivery person and that line on your phone on the map, and seeing how they get closer, it scratches the brain just right. )

Overcoming Bot Detection While Scraping Menu Data from UberEats, DoorDash, and Just Eat
Introduction
In industries where menu data collection is concerned, web scraping would serve very well for us: UberEats, DoorDash, and Just Eat are the some examples. However, websites use very elaborate bot detection methods to stop the automated collection of information. In overcoming these factors, advanced scraping techniques would apply with huge relevance: rotating IPs, headless browsing, CAPTCHA solving, and AI methodology.
This guide will discuss how to bypass bot detection during menu data scraping and all challenges with the best practices for seamless and ethical data extraction.
Understanding Bot Detection on Food Delivery Platforms
1. Common Bot Detection Techniques
Food delivery platforms use various methods to block automated scrapers:
IP Blocking – Detects repeated requests from the same IP and blocks access.
User-Agent Tracking – Identifies and blocks non-human browsing patterns.
CAPTCHA Challenges – Requires solving puzzles to verify human presence.
JavaScript Challenges – Uses scripts to detect bots attempting to load pages without interaction.
Behavioral Analysis – Tracks mouse movements, scrolling, and keystrokes to differentiate bots from humans.
2. Rate Limiting and Request Patterns
Platforms monitor the frequency of requests coming from a specific IP or user session. If a scraper makes too many requests within a short time frame, it triggers rate limiting, causing the scraper to receive 403 Forbidden or 429 Too Many Requests errors.
3. Device Fingerprinting
Many websites use sophisticated techniques to detect unique attributes of a browser and device. This includes screen resolution, installed plugins, and system fonts. If a scraper runs on a known bot signature, it gets flagged.
Techniques to Overcome Bot Detection
1. IP Rotation and Proxy Management
Using a pool of rotating IPs helps avoid detection and blocking.
Use residential proxies instead of data center IPs.
Rotate IPs with each request to simulate different users.
Leverage proxy providers like Bright Data, ScraperAPI, and Smartproxy.
Implement session-based IP switching to maintain persistence.
2. Mimic Human Browsing Behavior
To appear more human-like, scrapers should:
Introduce random time delays between requests.
Use headless browsers like Puppeteer or Playwright to simulate real interactions.
Scroll pages and click elements programmatically to mimic real user behavior.
Randomize mouse movements and keyboard inputs.
Avoid loading pages at robotic speeds; introduce a natural browsing flow.
3. Bypassing CAPTCHA Challenges
Implement automated CAPTCHA-solving services like 2Captcha, Anti-Captcha, or DeathByCaptcha.
Use machine learning models to recognize and solve simple CAPTCHAs.
Avoid triggering CAPTCHAs by limiting request frequency and mimicking human navigation.
Employ AI-based CAPTCHA solvers that use pattern recognition to bypass common challenges.
4. Handling JavaScript-Rendered Content
Use Selenium, Puppeteer, or Playwright to interact with JavaScript-heavy pages.
Extract data directly from network requests instead of parsing the rendered HTML.
Load pages dynamically to prevent detection through static scrapers.
Emulate browser interactions by executing JavaScript code as real users would.
Cache previously scraped data to minimize redundant requests.
5. API-Based Extraction (Where Possible)
Some food delivery platforms offer APIs to access menu data. If available:
Check the official API documentation for pricing and access conditions.
Use API keys responsibly and avoid exceeding rate limits.
Combine API-based and web scraping approaches for optimal efficiency.
6. Using AI for Advanced Scraping
Machine learning models can help scrapers adapt to evolving anti-bot measures by:
Detecting and avoiding honeypots designed to catch bots.
Using natural language processing (NLP) to extract and categorize menu data efficiently.
Predicting changes in website structure to maintain scraper functionality.
Best Practices for Ethical Web Scraping
While overcoming bot detection is necessary, ethical web scraping ensures compliance with legal and industry standards:
Respect Robots.txt – Follow site policies on data access.
Avoid Excessive Requests – Scrape efficiently to prevent server overload.
Use Data Responsibly – Extracted data should be used for legitimate business insights only.
Maintain Transparency – If possible, obtain permission before scraping sensitive data.
Ensure Data Accuracy – Validate extracted data to avoid misleading information.
Challenges and Solutions for Long-Term Scraping Success
1. Managing Dynamic Website Changes
Food delivery platforms frequently update their website structure. Strategies to mitigate this include:
Monitoring website changes with automated UI tests.
Using XPath selectors instead of fixed HTML elements.
Implementing fallback scraping techniques in case of site modifications.
2. Avoiding Account Bans and Detection
If scraping requires logging into an account, prevent bans by:
Using multiple accounts to distribute request loads.
Avoiding excessive logins from the same device or IP.
Randomizing browser fingerprints using tools like Multilogin.
3. Cost Considerations for Large-Scale Scraping
Maintaining an advanced scraping infrastructure can be expensive. Cost optimization strategies include:
Using serverless functions to run scrapers on demand.
Choosing affordable proxy providers that balance performance and cost.
Optimizing scraper efficiency to reduce unnecessary requests.
Future Trends in Web Scraping for Food Delivery Data
As web scraping evolves, new advancements are shaping how businesses collect menu data:
AI-Powered Scrapers – Machine learning models will adapt more efficiently to website changes.
Increased Use of APIs – Companies will increasingly rely on API access instead of web scraping.
Stronger Anti-Scraping Technologies – Platforms will develop more advanced security measures.
Ethical Scraping Frameworks – Legal guidelines and compliance measures will become more standardized.
