With just 4 days to go until the launch of Meizu’s 17 series flagships, we have most of the details about the phone thanks to Meizu’s barrage of leaks and teasers. The latest details confirm the phones will ship with a custom Samsung Super AMOLED displays. Previous teasers detailed that the panel on both will also feature a 90Hz refresh rate and 32MP selfie cam housed in a punch-hole cutout. In separate Weibo posts, Meizu also confirmed the 17 series will come with NFC connectivity and that the Meizu 17 is already up for pre-registration from Chinese online retailers. The Meizu 17 will arrive next week, and today we got confirmation there are going to be at least two phones - a vanilla version and a Pro variant. The lineup will be introduced with a 90Hz screen, and a 64MP camera, according to official teasers. In the meantime, a trustworthy source from Weibo revealed the Pro option will come with Super wireless mCharge. While the images, posted by Weibo, are pretty self-explanatory, the Meizu 17 Pro flyer reveals a bit more about the phone. It will also have OneMind 4.0 which is Meizu’s spin of software booster for certain scenarios. The 64MP quad-camera on the back will have AR filters and stickers. Connectivity-wise, the Pro will come with Wi-Fi 6 (which is expected, given the Snapdragon 865 chipset inside) and NFC. The launch of the Meizu 17 family is scheduled for May 8, which is next Friday. Meizu has been teasing its upcoming top-tier smartphone, the Meizu 17, for a while now and we have a new installment in that promo campaign. From a post shared on the company's official Weibo page, we learn that the Meizu 17 will will be powered by a 4,500mAh battery and will support 30-watt charging with Meizu's proprietary mCharge solution. Okay, techincally, there were already rumors on that particular number for the battery capacity and the 30W charging was mentioned in a certification document, at which time a photo of the actual brick also made the rouds. But info comes from the source, so it's rocksolid. Previously, the company revealed that the Meizu 17 will have the Snapdragon 865 in charge, to noone's surprise. The phone will also feature UFS 3.1 storage offering a significant upgrade in terms of random read and write speeds over the prevalent UFS 3.0 as we saw while testing one of the first phones with UFS 3.1, the vivo iQOO 3. A previous teaser had us marveling at the quad-cam setup on the back (without offering any details), while a couple of sceenshots from way back in February point to a 90Hz display. vivo sub-brand iQOO is set to unveil the iQOO Neo3 5G on April 23 and the company has been drip-feeding information about the smartphone to build up the hype. iQOO previously revealed that Neo3 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC and will be the cheapest smartphone to have the Snapdragon 865 chipset at the helm. Now the company has announced that iQOO Neo3 5G will feature dual stereo speakers for an enhanced audio experience. Additionally, the smartphone will come with a Hi-Fi chip with a signal-to-noise ratio of 125dB. We don't have the full specs of the iQOO Neo3 5G yet, but from previous leaks and official teasers, we know the smartphone will pack a 144Hz screen with a punch hole in the top-right corner for the selfie shooter. The iQOO Neo3 5G has an ambitious goal – to become the most affordable phone that offers the speed of the Snapdragon 865 chipset. And that’s fast, 600,000+ points on AnTuTu fast, as you can see in the screenshot below. This score was achieved with 8GB of RAM on board as well as 256GB of speedy UFS 3.1 storage. While this is not the highest AnTuTu score we’ve seen, it’s still a pretty impressive result considering that this phone is targeting a price point of CNY 3,000 or lower (€390/$425) as that’s how much the Redmi K30 Pro costs. And while the K30 is also powered by the S865 chip, it doesn’t come anywhere close to the 144Hz refresh rate of the Neo3 – in fact, there’s only one phone that can match it and it’s not even competing in this category. All other high refresh rate mobile screens out there are either 90Hz or 120Hz. Even more interesting is that this will be the first phone to support adaptive refresh rate. The phone will automatically adjust the refresh and touch sampling rates to match the frame rate of the currently running app or game. Outside of games, the screen will instantly go into 144Hz mode when you touch it to ensure that the UI is as smooth as possible (and then drop back to 60Hz to reduce power usage while nothing is happening). The display will also use Qualcomm’s LTM tech (“local adaptive tone mapping”) that boosts the darker parts of the image to improve visibility under bright sunlight. Last month, vivo’s iQOO sub-brand introduced the iQOO 3 5G, one of the most affordable Snapdragon 865-powered phones on the market. Now the company has gone even more aggressive with the new iQOO Neo3. It comes with a 144Hz refresh rate display, Snapdragon 865 chipset, dual-mode 5G connectivity and a CNY 2,698 ($380/INR 28,991) starting price. The iQOO Neo3 is built around a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. It’s also HDR10 compliant and comes with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The panel has a punch-hole cutout in the top right corner for the 16MP selfie cam. Around the back we have a 48MP main camera, joined by an 8MP ultrawide shooter and a 2MP macro snapper. The Snapdragon 865 sits at the helm aided by 6/8/12GB RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The 4,500mAh battery supports 44W fast charging. On the software front, we have iQOO UI on top of Android 10. The phone boasts stereo speakers, a headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The iQOO Neo3 will come in black and blue colors.
