Was thinking about Sun Wukong in the car and about the line "I just wanted to protect the people I care about."
And then, not only does he 'lose sight of why he's doing that" but he ends up killing Macaque, imprisoning the rest of the brotherhood, and it seems like the other pilgrims died (which isn't exactly his fault), and Ao Lie holding the Samadhi Fire. And then in the book, the monkeys go through a lot such as having their home burned down and being hunted while Wukong was away.
So, in the end, he's accomplished the exact opposite of what he was trying to do. Which... hngh don't mind me, I'll cry in the corner.
.... So.....
Did you just wanna break my heart today??
Was that your goal????
(Sobbing) CAUSE YOU ACCOMPLISHED IT!!!
He's literally so alone.
And honestly, I feel like that is why he is so hesitant to even talk and bond with anyone other than MK in the show.
Like-like I think he is starting to now after the recent season, but he was 100% actively avoiding talking to the gang. Ducked out the moment they knew he was there. Always wanting to train MK alone and such.
Like, I think he is terrified to make new bonds. To make new friends. Cause he knows, whether it's by his hand or not, they will leave him.

Maybe its just the blade brainrot, but i keep thinking of him in relation to ruan mei. Like what would she, someone who grew up on a planet blessed by the abundance and is trying to create a life that doesn't wilt, think about blade, a man cursed by the abundance and left unable to die? I think she would find him fascinating but his existence is the other side of the coin of the life she's trying to cultivate. Yes he's immortal and he's so close to what she wants to achieve but ultimately she would consider him a failure i think. He's plagued by mara which interferes with his own intelligence and turns him berserk. She wants something closer to an emanator and he only has shuhu's gift.
If they met, i wonder if she would try to use him as a basis for her research. I don't think he'd like her in turn.
