#ugh. i still hate everything about s8

Okay, storytime!
I was hardly on the internet as a kid and teen, and I really didn't know about the existence of online fandoms. So the first time I heard about the Lego Ninjago movie, I was sitting in the movie theater waiting for Lego Batman to start. A trailer started playing, and when everyone started yelling about 'Garmadon' I almost exploded with excitement. And then I saw the ninja. And heard the ninja. And because everything was different, I don't like change, and I had no clue what was happening, I immediately developed a visceral hate for the Lego Ninjago Movie. I almost cried in that theater. Even when I saw the movie I tried to have an open mind, but I still abhorred it.
Flashforward, eh, a year. 2018 SDCC, Ninjago had a panel in which they showed the first scene of season eight. My brother found it on YouTube and showed it to me. Between the different looking Lloyd and his different voice actor, I thought the rest of the show was following the movieverse (because again, I wasn't online and had no idea that that wasn't the case at ALL). Because of this assumption, I decided that I wouldn't watch any of it.
A couple months go by. My brother and I are out of shows for watch. He finds Ninjago season eight. I refuse to watch it. He begs me to just watch one episode. "One episode, that's it," I begrudgingly agreed. I hated the first half or so, because the designs took me a WHILE to get used to. I was mad at the new designs. I was mad at a random monarchy all of the sudden. I was mad at the intro. I was determined to hate it.
But hearing that only Lloyd's voice had changed, seeing that it was still in the continuity of the show, learning that it was faithful to the characters and plot, I began to crack. At the end of the episode my brother turned to me and I pointedly looked elsewhere as he played the next one.
As the season went on, we had our theories about Samurai X, Harumi, the baby, and the rest. I loved it. I was genuinely enjoying myself-- not because I'd gone in with my expectations underground, but because it was also just a fantastic season. Episode 7 rewired my brain, episode 8 was an insanely wild ride. We would have finished the season in a week, but I had a camp to go to. I begged my brother to wait for me, and he grumpily agreed.
Finally home, we had two episodes left. Our mom said we could watch one. As we turned on the TV, we saw this new thing called Hunted, but I assumed it was a miniseries we had missed, like Decoded or something. Landing on the horrifying cliffhanger at the end of 9, we begged for one more episode. The season finished on yet ANOTHER MASSIVE CLIFFHANGER.
Out of desperation, we clicked on the Hunted thingy, and to our utter shock, it was a new season. The first three episodes premiered in exactly 15 minutes.
Long story short, we started season 8 at the exact right time, watched it at the exact right pace, and didn't have to deal with the wait that the rest of the fandom did. Somehow.
Anyway, that's a really long story but it's cool so I thought I'd share :}
Oh wow! Funnily enough I think that's how I first heard of the ninjago movie too. But unlike you I wasn't a fan. Ninjago was just another lego movie to me, but my friend did tell me there was a series about it. Movie was fun, but it clearly didn't leave a lasting impression on me since i barely remember anything and didn't seek out the show.
I...unfortunately understand not liking change. I loooove denying it, but I have to force myself to keep an open mind. I was so salty over the changes in s8 but also felt guilty over it since I know that shouldn't judge the quality of the season. Also idk if you noticed, but I kept getting whiplash with the changes they'd do with cole. HES A GHOST NOW? ...Ok I've accepted it. WAIT HES NOT A GHOST ANYMORE? BUT I JUST GOT USED TO IT. Ugh ok fine atleast he has his ghost scar. WAIT THEY TOOK HIS GHOST SCAR. Oh, it's still there it just shows up when he uses his fist powers.
LIKE SKDJFSKJDFK IM NOT IMMUNE. I GET YOU. But I always try to give things a chance. I've gotten loads better, but its still there in the back of my head at times.
uhhh...confession time, I have not watched tales of the tmnt bc of this. mutant mayhem never fell prey to this and i love it, but tales looks too much like rise without being rise and it makes me incredibly angry. also i learned too many things they did that i am not a fan of. love mutant mayhem but it held tales back from what i heard
BUT YA. Glad you gave it a chance. Cuz wheeeew, you would've missed one of the best seasons. And also watching the episode that got you into fanfiction. That's still crazy to me.

So, I think I mentioned this in another post… but curiously, a few times in the Buffy tie-in books, Buffy has definitely been being interested in having children with Angel (like in her ideal life/fantasies and stuff). Part of me wonders if maybe if this was foreshadowing the Twilight S8 stuff? (But maybe not, because I think at least some of these were written before that, of course. Though maybe Joss already had the idea at the time and could have told these writers about it? IDK.) Or it could have absolutely nothing to do with that, which I honestly hope it doesn’t, and it’s just Buffy voicing what she wants, as she definitely should be allowed to do, of course.
But anyway, I decided I’d go ahead and compile them all here (that I’ve found so far). And -sighs- the Twilight thing too, just on the off-chance it is connected to that. (Though I pray not.)
From “Unnatural Selection,” that takes place in Buffy season 3 (though this one’s actually a cover story on Buffy’s part.)

2. Book three of the Unseen Trilogy, entitled “Long Way Home” (this takes place in Buffy Season 4/Angel season 1 and is a Buffy/Angel crossover book. In this instance, Buffy is seeing a parallel universe and is somewhat being tempted by it).

3. This is from the book “Heat” (another Buffy/Angel crossover, that takes place in Buffy season 7/Angel season 4. Buffy is being shown her ideal fantasy by the enemy in a way to keep her down, but I don’t think this one’s real. Like, I don’t think it’s a parallel universe or anything like that.)

And then here’s a beat from “Heat,” where Buffy and Angel talk about Connor:
And here’s stuff from Buffy season 8, where Buffy and Angel are gods, have sex, and give birth to a sentient universe that then possesses Angel and is evil, because it’s not too happy its parents abandoned it right after creating it (this universe is called “Twilight”). Because why not do all of this nonsense? I mean… I guess it could happen, arguably, make some sort of sense because it sort of rings like Greek mythology or something, and they did all kinds of weird stuff like this. But this all thing is strange, and why did we need it? And it makes me sad that this is the only canon “child” of Buffy and Angel that we have.
But here it is:

Anyway...
#long post#buffy the vampire slayer#bangel#bangel family#guess i'll use that tag?#bangel with kids#twilight from buffy season 8#twilight from buffy#guess i gotta use those tags too#twilight: buffy#ugh. i still hate everything about s8#pssst. boom. write a bangel happy ending where they're parents so twilight isn't their only 'canon' kid anymore#because they deserve SO much better. 'kay? thanks#buffy season 8#buffy tie-in books#buffy books#angel tie-in books#angel books#unnatural selection#the unseen trilogy#long way home#heat#but seriously if i could just pretend that s8 never happened i gladly would it and it would be a good day#and most of the time i do#the only reason i'm putting it here and mentioning it at all is 'cause there's a SMALL chance these book moments are foreshadowing it#but truly i don't think they are and thank God for THAT#also i know i've mentioned this a million times now... but i love how buffy and angel talk about connor in 'heat' but not in either of#their shows *grumble grumbles*. like don't get me wrong i'm so glad we have it there. because if we didn't we wouldn't have it anywhere#*sobs* BUT WHY DON'T THEY PUT SUCH IMPORTANT THINGS IN THE ACTUAL SHOWS? *sobs again*#oh and then buffy forgets that too because of COURSE she does!

Thoughts on seasons 7 and 8 of “Endeavour”...
Behind the cut for obvious spoiler reasons
Oh wow, Violetta is just complete Morsenip isn’t she. Beautiful, femme, into classical music, mysterious, manipulative, sad, vulnerable... Deeply operatic. Just. Ouch. I... am sad that she didn’t have much personality other than that. I’m unsure if that’s Russell Lewis failing in his portrayal of women again (I love so much about his writing, but...) or if it’s Morse’s perspective that can’t see past his need to save sad, beautiful women. Possibly both.
Ludo is of course the other kind of Morsenip, and there is no heterosexual explanation for anything much involving the two of them. (Ludo is also completely fucking horrifying of course. Possibly what Morse needs is a charming, cultured bi man to spoil him who is neither doomed (poor Bixby and poor Nick Wilding!) nor evil.)
(Nah, he most needs a lot of therapy and then someone grounded but intellectual, like Max, or perhaps like Monica. And to finally embrace the friendships offered to him, especially from Dorothea, and to have the Thursdays just openly treat him as part of the family and to let himself accept their affection. :-) )
These were the seasons where I started to really love Jim Strange, despite the Freemasonry thing. Also when (well, specifically in s8 when she’s actually around ;-) ) I started to finally really warm to Joan. It turns out that when she’s not being constantly ship-teased with Morse she’s far more interesting. Also I just love how much more comfortable in her own skin she is, and how much good she’s doing.
Above all, oh goodness I adore Bright so much. Especially in “Scherzo”; his interactions with the model were my favourite things in that episode.
There was not enough Max. There is never enough Max.
I’d had low expectations of s7 especially. It’s certainly not as good as some others (and really, where did Morse and Fred pick up the idiot balls from? there were reasons why they both kept fucking up so much in s6, but here there were a lot of unforced errors and being gratuitously awful to each other), but still an awful lot to like.
S8 I thought was really quite a return to form. “Striker” was damn good, “Scherzo” rather less so. “Terminus” was heartrending and chilling and beautiful. I love that the father-son thing with Fred and Morse seems to be returning. And that Fred’s as close as he could be to regarding Morse as another son: but one that he has no actual rights to be as protective and caring of as he’d like to be, which makes everything so hard.
I hate Gwen Morse. I hate her so much. Ugh.
Morse’s alcoholism was treated with serious levels of compassion, as it should be. I appreciate this enormously. I pretty much cheered when he stopped himself getting drunk in the abandoned hotel, and then when he accepted Fred’s suggestion to take time off to get help.
The show continues to be gloriously shot and gloriously acted, at all times.
I hope there’ll be a season 9, and I hope that whatever happens Morse and Fred hug at least once.
I’m going to go forth and watch Inspector Morse now. Looking forward to it, but my Gods I’m going to miss Fred, and the other Thursdays. And Bright. And Morse being played by Shaun Evans, though I’m certain I’ll adore John Thaw too. :-)

so i’ve been reading a lot of post season 8 JH fics and my heart literally hurts from all the angst. do you have any recommendations for more happy and fluffy multi chapter fics??
PS. I keep rereading TSG for the family cuteness
There's nothing I love more than family cuteness, man. I'm glad you like TSG so much!!
And I get you 😭😭😭 There are some J/H fics where the angst is downright cruel to us.
Whenever the angst gets too much for me, I take a small break and read a fluffy one-shot or a chapter of s8 redo (my comfort fic), and it always makes me feel better!
Anyway, here's a list with all the fluffy multichapter stories that make me swoon:
Catch The Bouquet by heatherlea75 (post s8):
It's a post s8 fic, but I promise you it's fluffy as hell. Trust me.
Fate has been unkind to Jackie Burkhart for too long. She has a plan to change that, and to obtain what is rightfully hers a glorious wedding. Though she doesn’t know it, she needs a little help, and a surprising person is perfectly willing to offer it.
This story is complete, and it has an adorable sequel, called Pop The Question.
6k words, 2 chapters.
Rated T.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde, background Eric/Donna
Escaping The Friendzone by KayRight (AU canon divergence):
Jackie doesn’t take Kelso back at their prom. Instead, she starts an odd friendship with Hyde. They both want more but the only problem is he thinks she’s on the rebound and she thinks he’s not interested.
This story is complete.
73k words, 23 chapters.
Rated M.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde
Also Available on AO3
Everything Works If You Let It by Ultrawoman (AU canon divergence):
Jackie and Hyde pretty much hated each other from the get go, and yet he still agreed to take her to Prom. Kelso was unable to win Jackie back that night, and everything changed between the rich cheerleader and the Zen Master. S1 rewritten from ‘Prom Night’.
This story is complete and it’s SO CUTE.
60k words, 23 chapters.
Rated T.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde
Focus by Jenny7 (AU):
After a metaphysical awakening, Hyde develops the ability to telepathically connect with a single stranger. What he doesn’t expect is that the girl that he shares the connection with, a rich cheerleader with a complicated past, will forever alter his views on life and love.
SO GOOD. It’s complete and it has a sequel (that’s not complete but still worth the read), called Darlin, Walk Awhile With Me.
2k words, 19 chapters.
Rated T.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde.
It Must Be Love by That-Maria-Girl (missing scenes):
What happened after the Valentine’s dance.
4k words, 2 chapters.
Rated M.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde
Mistaken Messages by MistyMountainHop (soulmate AU):
Slightly angsty at first because Jackie and Hyde are dumbasses, but at the same time it's so fluffy, ugh. This is probably my favorite soulmate story ever.
Jackie longs for her soulmate to accept her, and Hyde hopes his will leave him alone because he’s in love with someone else. A stack of mystical index cards lets them communicate with their as-yet unidentified soulmates. But the more their soulmates write, the less control Jackie and Hyde seem to have over their fate.
This story is complete.
23k words, 5 chapters.
Rated M.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde, background Eric/Donna
Also Available on AO3
New York, New York by Shabbuuu (AU canon divergence):
This one is also on my top favorite stories of all time, do yourself a favor and read this, it’s amazing.
What if Hyde did go to New York City with Chrissy? It’s 1981 and Jackie has just moved to NYC for a job. What happens when she runs into a familiar face at a bar?
This story is complete.
40k words, 38 chapters.
Rated M.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde
Of All Things Creepy and Unnatural by CaedanceLaura (AU canon divergence):
Also on my top favorites, lol. I can’t help myself, I really love AU’s.
What if Donna and Eric hadn’t found out about Hyde and Jackie? Hyde and Jackie manage to keep their relationship a secret for much longer. How will this change the development of their relationship without having their friends lack of support and ridicule in the beginning?
Not complete, but it ends in a nice place. No cliffhangers here.
56k words, 16 chapters.
Rated T.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde, background Eric/Donna
One Difference: Hyde Goes to Kelso’s Ice Shack by MistyMountainHop (AU canon divergence):
Kelso plans to get Jackie back by taking her to his uncle’s “fabulous” cabin in the woods. He has everything in place—the right lie, the right couple to emulate—but an unexpected variable threatens to dismantle his scheme: Steven Hyde.
This story is complete.
21k words, 5 chapters.
Rated T.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde, Eric/Donna
Season 8 redo by tanith75 (s7 fix-it):
This is the most famous story of the fandom for a reason.
The story starts after the s7ep21 episode, so there’s no Chicago problems or people going to Africa over here :) It’s amazingly written, it’s funny as hell, and it honestly feels like I’m watching an episode of the show when I’m reading it. It’s amazing, it’s what should’ve happened in the show.
This story is not complete, but please, don’t let this stop you from reading it.
293k words, 42 chapters.
Rated T.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde, Eric/Donna, Red/Kitty, Fez/Laurie, Kelso/Brooke
Stuck With You by nannygirl (post s8, Christmas fic):
Christmas 1980 with the Formans, just like any other Christmas right? Not exactly. Find out what makes this Christmas so memorable. It’s a story about the whole family!
This story is complete (and it’s one of my favs).
50k words, 21 chapters.
Rated T.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde, Eric/Donna, Kelso/Brooke, Red/Kitty, Fez/?
That 70s show by Zenmaster21 (AU):
What if Jackie had dated Hyde from the beginning instead of Kelso? This is simply a re-write of the episodes had Jackie and Hyde always been together.
One of my favorites stories from the entire fandom.
Not complete, but please read it, it’s worth it.
Trigger warning for child abuse.
152k words, 37 chapters.
Rated M.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde, Eric/Donna
The Love I Need by myboygeorge (missing scenes):
Everyone knows when Jackie and Hyde first hooked up. But when did they become lovers? Set as an extension of Season 5’s ‘Over the Hills and Far Away’.
3k words, 3 chapters.
Rated M.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde
The One Where Jackie Moves In by Floweerchild96 (AU):
Jackie has been living in New-York with her family but after her father goes to jail and her mother abandons her, she is forced to return to a town she thought she was done with for good. How will Jackie’s reemergence in the basement effect the gangs lives?
A really good story, but unfortunately, it’s not complete. Still worth the read.
103k words, 20 chapters.
Rated T.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde, background Eric/Donna.
You Can’t Hurry Love by holeygeorge (post s8, Christmas fic):
It’s 1983, the gang is getting ready for Christmas and the New Years.
Not complete, but extremely fluffy.
40k words, 16 chapters.
Rated T.
Pairings: Jackie/Hyde
I know you asked only for multi chapter fics, but if you're feeling like reading some fluffy one-shots, I highly recommend for you to check out springsteenicous profile on AO3. Their one-shots are so cute that I literally blush when I'm reading them.

Hi Chey :)
Ahhh yeah I know I've seen some of your posts I truly hope your situation gets better because ugh I couldn't imagine going through some of the stuff you do. Also vice versa if you need an ear or just someone to listen I'm here for you ok <3<3 Ahhh yeah if I do I'd probably DM you if that's alright I just get shy to DM people lol <3<3 (plus I've been meaning to show you my newly painted room I remember you saying you wanted to see it I think :) )
omg I'm sending you hugs right back <3<3 ily too you are too sweet...
Yeah totally agree with you on Cisco like if they were gonna do that then they could've just waited for the finale to send him off....which would've been better scenes to put in at the end other than the wedding vow scene tbh .-. would've been more emotionally impactful as well.....I know Jay <3 it would've been nice to see more set up for him and Impulse's relationship since apparently he's really important to Impulse but we don't know quite how exactly.....
Remember Flashpoint kind of reset all that with reverse flash (thanks Barry) and Crisis so if my memory serves me right he was just stuck in the Speed Force (or it's prison) and I think that's how he's back but I'm not sure...but omg if he's the big bad for S8 YESSSS what a way to end it right where it began to come full circle...
Yeah tbh I ironically predicted that about Kramer and I was pissed I was right (she's basically Rogue from X-Men aiodjk) .....omg no Allegra and Chester seemed kind of natrual at first at least to me but then these last couple of episode (ever since Esperanza?? came to Star Labs) it for sure seems rushed and forced which ugghhhh .-.
Yeah the whole Iris not being stabilized (how and why was she not to begin with I still have no clue) and then Dion magically being able to stabilize her was so stupid and pointless to me idk why they shoved that useless plot point in there.....Totally agree with the singing though MAKE THEM STOOOPPP!!!!!!!!
oof....this was a big rant I'm sorry lol
hey shay!! 🥰
don't worry me loves big rants >:)
thank you!! i'm alright, don't worry :) but i really appreciate the offer thank you <3 and yes i do still wanna see your painted room!! 👀
love you the mostest 🥰🥰
i'm very glad that you agree with me on the Cisco thing 🥺i was all over the place >< but yes i also agree about Jay and Bart/Impulse! i'm guessing Jay is like a father figure to Bart...which makes no sense unless Barry was dead or something... or they just be very close as uncle and nephew...although not really... this show is very confusing
but point is they always do Jay dirty and i hate that </3
ahh yes Flashpoint! okay yes then that makes a lot of sense now. i'm sorry sometimes i think of the Reverse Flash on LoT and i forget all about the timeline again 😔 time travel is fun but soooooo tiring to remember everything... but if he really is the big bad for S8 i'm going to scream with happiness!!!
Kramer's story is so :// we saw it coming...we really did 😔 honestly they spent a lot of time on her storyline so i hope she joins the team and helps out because if she's just gonna be a side story for Joe i'm gonna be pissed
Allegra and Chester... i have no more words </3 why does it seem like none of the romantic relationships in this show work?? besides Joe and Cecile and maaaaaybe Cisco's relationships (past and present), i don't have much faith in any other romances :(
speaking of... what happened to Chillblaine? can't believe they ended off the season with no closure about him >:(
i have literally forgotten all about the Forces already... seems like they're bringing Deon back to remind us of said Forces but yeah they better explain the plot with Iris not being stabilized!!
ALSO??? IRIS STILL BEING ABLE TO RUN?? CUZ SHE HAD A "SPARK" IN HER?? yo that was like 3 seasons ago like...huh?? and her jacket? that she gave to Nora...? but somehow she still has it...?
absolutely no continuation whatsoever idk what the writers are on anymore 😔
this was also a big rant i'm sorry

I’d very much like to hope this isn’t George’s end for Brienne, and I don’t really believe it is, but a tiny bit of me thinks back to how D&D said they seeded in endgame stuff in S4 because it was the first season after they had that story conference with George and there was so much emphasis on the white book that season. But we’ll never get ADOS so I’ll remain happy in my headcanons.
You know what was also seeded in S4 and even in later seasons after their conversation with GRRM? Their marriage.
4x01: Jaime and Tywin conversation, with Jaime protesting becoming heir because he wants to be near Cersei. Assuming his character has development and will break from her (which he does in canon and should have been starting at that point), “I don’t want a wife, I don’t want children!” would translate into him willingly getting married and wanting to openly father.
4x01: Maybe you’re a Lannister too
4x02: While the Bear and the Maiden Fair is playing in the background, Loras tells Jaime he’ll never marry Cersei and then walks off. When he walks off, Brienne walks past and Jaime looks up at her.
Then we have the whole conversation with Cersei and Brienne, with Bear and the Maiden Fair playing in the background again. The scene establishes that Brienne is in love with Jaime (and CERSEI NEVER FINDS OUT THEY BONE ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME ugh that’s another rant). The Brienne and Cersei scene isn’t direct marriage foreshadowing of course, but when you couple it with the previous scene with Loras, Jaime and the Brienne transition … well.
Also why the fuck would they seed a ONE EPISODE consummation in episode 8 all the way back to the beginning of season fucking 4 (and even back to season 2) if there was no intended meaningful endgame for this relationship? And the best part? GRRM wrote that episode, and we know he wrote those scenes because he mentioned he had to imagine how a Cersei and Brienne encounter would go down.
4x06: Jaime and Tywin conversation, with Jaime showing a bit of growth by agreeing to “marry a suitable woman and father children named Lannister.” He’s essentially choosing Tyrion over Cersei. (so lmfao to their switch from his core being “the things I do for love” to “the things I do for Cersei.”). Considering this is the last conversation he has with his father, with him saying “you have my word,” that gives scene a lot of fucking weight in terms of foreshadowing. YES, the plan didn’t work because Tyrion went crazy during his trial, so he doesn’t have to hold to any agreements he made with his father. But… that misses the point. In that season, Jaime went from totally rejecting any outcome where he’d have to leave Cersei, to choosing his brother’s life over his twin and accepting his role as heir. Because he showed that growth, and this was the last conversation he had with Tywin, it sets up the possibility of him being able to make that decision willingly in the future.
Also, that scene is like a checklist lol. Tywin is telling him to leave the KG, which HE DOES, and then marry a suitable woman to father children named Lannister (oh HEY there’s a Lady Brienne who you just sent on a quest, gifting her with your own fucking sword -a classic literary symbol for love-, who you coincidentally just had a transformative journey with, and who coincidentally just had a scene where it was revealed she was in love with you HMMMMMMM I wonder where this story is going)
5x03: Brienne’s happiest moment. This scene right here is why I LOATH HER ENDING FYI. They really failed at adapting her character to screen, but her ending on the show even sucks WITHIN IN THEIR OWN NARRATIVE and defeats the entire fucking point of her character. (I’m not going to rant about that anymore, but I’ll link you to posts that explains why I hate it. [1], [2], [3] [4]).
Anyway, not only have they been setting up Jaime for marriage, but they also threw this bit in that show’s Brienne isn’t opposed to marriage and being a lady!! She literally says the happiest she had ever been was when the boys wanted to marry her and take her back to their castles. This scene is now completely pointless! Yes, it was to show why she was so devoted to Renly, but they could have written it a million different ways without adapting the romantic rejection element to her arc if they were just going to shit on it in the end? They didn’t have to say she loved the idea of marriage and living that life style? SO LOGICALLY, before the S8 mess, one would think there was a narrative point to throw that in, and that it could be foreshadowing of a marriage between her and Jaime if you add everything up (and for book readers especially since this is also heavily foreshadowed in the books)
5x04: Jaime drooling over Tarth. Seriously, WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS SCENE other than to continuously seed his connection to Brienne and possibly foreshadow HIS ENDGAME DESTINATION? Keep in mind they spent loads of money and time on actors to stand around so Jaime can stare at a CGI Tarth. If they wanted to just show that he was thinking of Brienne (again, WHY, if it was meant to be just some half episode fling?!), they could have done it in a way less expensive and time consuming way through dialogue, or him writing her name down on his page of the White Book (WHICH HE DIDN’T DO ON THE SHOW DFGHSLKDJSFGHL) but NO they INTRODUCED THE ENTIRE FUCKING ISLAND I mean….
5x10: Jaime tells Myrcella he’s her father. In the books, it is made clear that Jaime develops a desire to want to father his children, but knows he’s unable to. He even has a thought about how if he has another child he’s going to make damn sure he gets to hold it. This scene is introducing his desire to father, but is now reduced to being completely pointless thanks the S8 and Jaime apparently not caring about having a child. Before the joke of S8, if you add this scene with everything else, it’s a sign that the Tywin Checklist is on its way to completion, just in a way Jaime had not intended.
6x06: There is literally NO REASON for Jaime to leave the Kingsguard, other than to release him from vows so he’s eligible to land, titles, and marriage. He could have achieved the same endgame while never being released from the KG. He could have left Cersei to join the North while still being in the KG/QG. In the books he even runs off with Brienne to help her while he’s still in the KG. Then Tommen says this, “you have served your House and your king faithfully for many years, and you’ll continue to do so, but not in this city.” Keep in mind that a) from a narrative standpoint there is no reason for him to leave the KG unless he’s specifically being set up for marriage and b) we were introduced to Tarth in the previous season.
Then we get the tent scene in episode 8, which isn’t marriage foreshadowing by itself, but it for fucking sure continues to seed that relationship with one of their most romantic scenes (and foreshadowing the bang), almost immediately after he has been released from the KG. Anyone who has the slightest bit of pattern recognition, and able to string clues from a narrative together, can see where this is heading.
7x04: Brienne accepting her title as Lady. Ignoring the fact she doesn’t reject her title in the books, the show has her say over and over and over again that she’s not a lady. We assume this stems from her insecurities and not because she doesn’t want it, because her insecurities are strong in the books and on the show they even established she was happy with the thought of married life in a castle. So obviously there was some sort of confidence boost for her character development on the show, since she’s now accepting her title with a “thank you” and a smile. So… WHAT’S THE POINT of all this Lady Brienne build up for her show arc if the plan was just to have her ditch her title by joining a celibate organization in the end? This was a seed for a very different endgame.
We also have the dragon pit scene where Cersei looks at them TWICE. Again, not marriage foreshadowing, but taking everything into consideration and piecing it all together….
D&D very clearly had an entirely different endgame seeded. I am convinced GRRM told them the Jaime and Brienne marriage endgame, and they seeded it JUST IN CASE they decided to follow through. They’re lazy writers and never cared about properly adapting Jaime and Brienne (I mean, LSH? Adapting literal opposite scenes like the WST?), and they didn’t have a plan after the Red Wedding (they even admitted to not writing stuff that fans started to guess because sHoCk), They threw in only a COUPLE bits of contradictory endgame seeds just to give themselves an out. Towards the end, they decided to go with the out. When did they decided to detour from GRRM and drop it? I’m not sure, but I think they made this final decision when they suspiciously removed Cersei’s miscarriage scene from S7 at the last minute.
Anyway, the scene with Brienne reading his page doesn’t even happen in the books, and IF she winds up as some bodyguard in the end (again HIGHLY DOUBT), it’ll be a completely changed KG that allows love and heirs. In the books it is made clear that Brienne is the heir to Tarth and it doesn’t look like her father is going to have any other children. And again, she definitely doesn’t oppose being a Lady, she just thinks she’s unworthy to be one and unworthy to be his heir because of her insecurities.
#gm answers#also#they even point out she's the heir to Tarth on the show too! LIKE WTF#THEY DID IN EPISODE 2#BY EMPHASIZING SHE'S AN ONLY CHILD#and WOW excuse my typos#I am still half asleep

Arrow 8x02 Brain Dump
Meh! This is gonna be a shorter one, because quite frankly, this just wasn't worth staying up late for (it airs at 2am my time 😩😩), and I felt it a waste of one of the final run of episodes. It wasn’t the worst episode everrr, by any means, but it was just meh. And I think for the last season we deserve better than meh, every single week.
The good 😍
Always start with, and double-down on the positives haha!!
Antonio Negret and Stephen Amell really came through for us with The Ring Moment, which, albeit very brief, just gave us a little moment to remind us that Felicity was on Oliver’s mind throughout all of this, that she was his driving force for doing this crazy mission, and that (through the quotes they selected for flashbacks) he still had hope in what he was doing, and that Felicity will find him, and they were “gonna be fine” 😭😭😭
Source: olicitygifs
If this wasn’t foreshadowing a happy Olicity ending, then why are we even here haha!
Some more below the cut:
Antonio did a great job overall in this episode; his episodes are always beautifully shot and he gets the absolute best out of the character moments in the scripts. I’d have actually loved for Antonio to have directed the premiere last week…ugh that would have amped that up to astronomical levels of awesome!!
Oliver’s moments with Tatsu. I’m glad they used her to service Oliver’s character; we could have done with her joining the team back in the day instead of NTA! She was a true ally!
Source: oliverxfelicity
This moment was wonderful to show why he is still there on the mission (short version, he's a paragon of heroes, duh). I’m really glad they had Tatsu question his reasons so he could give this answer; that he is in this for his family. He ‘knows’ he’s going to die, and he left his family behind to keep them (and the rest of the multiverse) safe, so he has to keep trusting The Monitor, because if not, and he doesn’t see this through, then he left his family for nothing. However, I’m pleased that Tatsu challenging him on this, led him to ultimately actually question The Monitor, by deciding to go to Nanda Parbat for more answers.

The flash forwards. A very welcome reprieve from the A storyline this week! Mia taking the lead back in the lair, and being all protective sister over William is A MOOD.
I love seeing her in softer moments like when she was reassuring Connor, or her panic over William. We have seen glimpses of this before last season and it reminds us that she does have a big squishy heart inside like her papa, along with the empathy of her Mama Smoak, as well as being the kickass team leader/warrior/vigilante.
William continues to be his witty, adorable, hacktastic self and he has my whole heart!! 💗💗💗
Connor and JJs relationship is adorable. Connor has so much John Diggle in him, I just cannot 😍😍 And we saw the mask slip a little on JJ, and heard about the little hero boy that he used to be, but appears to have well and truly left behind 😩 I can’t wait to see future Dig because this good/evil brother thing is just going to remind him of him and Andy and he’s going to blame himself and it’s going to be fantastic!! I hope we get to see that!!
What else…ooh THAT ENDING!!! From that awesome shot of Lyla's Amanda Waller shoes to finding out that she is already working with The Monitor 😱😱😱 This ending was gooood. Do I think that Lyla is really evil? NOPE. Do I hope that this will lead to a beautiful Dyla confrontation? HELL YES!!! But as Mia said in the flash forwards that Lyla and John were “basically saints”, I hope that that implies that she (1) isn't evil and (2) doesn't die...yay!!
The bad 😡
Black Siren😒😒😒 My brief love affair with BS has officially ended haha! I really wanted to continue liking her after there was no Felicity for her to bounce off, but NOPE. Instead they’ve had her revert back to every other incarnation of LL, whereby she just blames Oliver for everything that goes wrong for her (and let’s not even get started on that terrible fake crying). Blaming Oliver when he literally had no clue what he was doing on that Earth, and it would undoubtedly have happened anyway (The Monitor confirmed this later). Oh and he just saved your ungrateful arse, when you could have stopped to help (and would have definitely died), but you just hopped straight on through the portal instead so shut the fuck up and sit down!! RAAHHH!! Ok, I know that she was just processing her grief etc etc etc, but ugh!! And then she comes back and takes all the glory for saving Tatsu when she should have been there repaying Oliver and Dig and helping them out in the first place, without even a hint of an apology?! **SHAKES ANGRY FIST**
The Monitor manipulating Oliver by telling him he was responsible for the loss of Earth 2. This was later revealed to not be the case, him stating that it was a necessary sacrifice. So what was the point in this? To keep him in line? To ready Oliver somehow, as he alluded to with Lyla at the end? Ugh. The Monitor sucks balls.
The plot…what even happened? Some Dr bloke was needed by The Monitor for Unknown Reasons (I feel like we’ll be getting a lot of this, I only hope that most of it is accounted for later). He didn’t appear to be interested in the new Alpha-Omega virus, leaving that plot point seemingly shoehorned in because ode to S3 🙄🙄 Oliver stopped the virus getting out and rescued the Dr, but didn’t want to hand him over right away (but Lyla did anyway), so he decides to go to Nanda Parbat next week for answers. The end.
The Meh 😕
Meh sums up this episode for me really. This is how I thought I'd be feeling about S8, but last week showed that they could still make it good, so why aren't they?!😭😭 I really want to be enjoying this last run!
Action, action, action! 🙄🙄 A fight sequence-heavy episode was never going to be a favourite, it’s just not what I watch for, so that’s not a bad thing; lots of people are here for all the fighting, so this is for them! The fight scenes were actually shot well, and didn’t have any of the awkward camera-moves-past-each-character-one-by-one-and-hopes-no-one-misses-their-marks-or-gets-caught-standing-still moments that we often see **cough** last weeks episode **cough** 😂
Lyla. Don’t hate me. I love Lyla! But until that (awesome) ending, her presence was wasted by being BS’s cheerer-upper, when she could have been with the A team haha! I did like her little “hi honey” moment with Dig though 😍😍 I’m hoping they use Lyla more as the season progresses up to the crossover, especially given that ending!
Source: feilcityqueen
China White. Although it was good that they kept her a secret, and were able to use an already-established baddie for the episode, she just fell a bit flat for me, much like other times in later years that they brought her back.
Of course the episode wasn’t 100% terrible, there were some beautiful little character moments for Oliver and the flash forward crew, but for me, a few heartfelt moments does not a great episode make. It felt like they got Tatsu to come back for an episode and thought ok, how do we build an episode around that. It didn't drive the story forward, it didn't particularly offer any character development (all of BS's fake crying notwithstanding), it was meh. There are so very few episodes of this show left, ever, and I feel like each one they should just be squeezing out all of the excellent Arrow juice and making them count, and this just didn’t feel like that for me, sadly. But onwards and upwards!! Next week has potential!!
Next week
Speedy and Nanda Parbat!! And if we don’t get a 3x20 sexytimes call-back then quite frankly what is the point hahaha!!
Thank you to the wonderful gifmakers, who always capture the best moments so beautifully 😍😍😍 (Uncredited gifs are mine)

My Thoughts on GoT 8.01 (“Winterfell”)
So, this is late, but I watched S8, E1 (”Winterfell”) with my Dad and Brother and had some thoughts (these thoughts are from my first time viewing it, but I was too insecure to post them until a magnificent mutual of mine suggested it).
Spoilers, but the warning might be irrelevant by now. Featuring running commentary from my family because they’re amazing.
So, maybe I’m alone, but I’m not that fond of the new opening. Sorry, it just looks cheaper to me than the old one somehow, even though I read somewhere that more money was spent on it
That child climbing a tree gave my entire family and I some serious Bran/Arya nostalgia, as did that Baratheon theme
Arya’s little smile when she saw Jon half filled me with joy, and also half broke my heart. So much has happened since they last saw eachother. So fricking much
Arya looking at the Hound in a parallel to S1, E1 has been found
Non-verbal Gendrya is life
Oh, yay, an obligatory manhood joke to start off the season. Ugh. You know, I’m really tired of them at this point.
So......... can somebody remind me why Tyrion is even here anymore? And how he became the least interesting remaining Lannister by far?
Missandei and Grey Worm’s little “wow, they hate us” look is honestly the best thing. To quote my Brother: “Finally, two people that can take a hint”
Dany is upset at people not kissing her boots - shocker. Look, sweetie, it’s been a rough couple of years for the Northerners. Not to mention the last time they had a Targ in power he burned their liege lord and had his heir strangled. And that Targ was your father. So no duh they’re skeptical
Yeeeeeeaaaaah... I don’t think giving a good portion of the people you’ve supposedly come to “save” heart attacks with your WMD children is the best way to establish you’re a “great” ruler
SHE SMIRKED THAT LITTLE --!!!
(And the camera lingered on said smirk, hmmm, wonder why...)
Just a little over ten minutes into the episode and I’ve already reached new levels of Dany hatred
Entrance to the Winterfell courtyard parallel to S1, E1 spotted
Jon riding in and seeing Bran is making me cry. Like, the last time he was riding towards a family member was with Rickon, the only “sibling” (aside from Sansa) he thought he had left - only for Rickon to die moments before he reached him. And here’s Bran, his “brother” who he thought was dead up until recently, sitting there alive and (mostly) well, and I just... *sobs uncontrollably*
Compare and contrast how happy Jon is to see Bran vs. how “who cares?” he was when finding out he was alive in S7 and tell me that political!Jon isn’t real. Tell me
... I thought we were supposed to get non-robo-Bran this season, but, so far, I don’t see it
My Dad is honestly cheering because Bran’s looking at Dany all creepily. He’s just thrilled someone’s giving her some variation of the stink-eye
That Jon and Sansa hug is not the same one that was released, and I’m a little disappointed. Let Jon give bear hugs to his entire family 2k19
Sansa/Ned parallels from S1, E1 and I’m loving it
Dany is literally the embodiment of all her stans who thought she and Sansa would be besties and braid eachother’s hair. Sansa is the rest of us who knew better
Bran cutting straight to the point adds years to my life
Sansa running things is my aesthetic
Dany seriously didn’t sit down till Ned Umber called her “my queen” and I’m rolling my eyes. So what if I’m too critical? I’m bitter
I love Jon getting called out if political!Jon isn’t real, but I’m honestly tired of Lyanna Mormont at this point. Sorry, unpopular opinion
......................... is it just me, or has Tyrion become a lot less smart in recent seasons?
Wait until they find out who burnt the loot train * snicker snicker*
Sansa asks practical questions. Dany replies with an answer that basically gives the green light for eating innocent civilians. But, sure, Sansa’s a jerk
My Dad doesn’t even like Sansa and he’s scoffing that Dany couldn’t hold a candle to her when it comes to ruling
Yep, Tyrion’s become a lot less smart. I was right
Bran being creepy is actually great when it’s directed towards Dany and her team
Awwwwwww... Jon and Arya. Don’t screw this up for me, please...
Parellel to Ned/Catelyn in the Godswood in S1, E1, I believe
Seriously, Jon is ecstatic to see his little “sister”. Don’t tell me he would’ve reacted with nonchalance to the news of her being alive if political!Jon isn’t true. Don’t even dare
Am I the only one who’s a little heartbroken that Jon is actually surprised that Arya still had Needle?
So....... I think that “Sansa thinks she’s smarter then everyone” comment was supposed to be an awkward joke. So therefore, I’m not going to get angry
STARK SISTERS AS A UNITED FRONT! YES!!! NED, YOU WOULD BE SO PROUD!!!
Yeah, Jon, don’t forget. I believe in you
I imagine everyone’s probably going to be really angry with Jon, but I kind of feel badly for him. He seems so insecure about everything in this episode. If the parentage reveal happens here, too, I’m a little worried how he’ll take it
My Brother pointed out that Jon’s homecoming in this episode kind of mirrors Jaime’s in S4 and I’m honestly living for it
I missed Cersei. I really did
I missed Yara, I really did
I didn’t miss Euron, not a bit
Wow, the Red Keep feels so lonely and I think that’s the vibe the showrunners were going for. Kudos if it was
Cersei seriously has some of the best lines and Lena Headey is brilliant in her delivery
Euron... yeah. Dude needs help
Oh, so that’s what happened to Ed Sheeran and co. Time to get started on my “I See Fire” tribute
Little parallel to Tyrion in the brothel with Bronn from S1, E1
“Which girl?” Poor Bronn in a world without modern medicine
Um, excuse me, but if you even think of using that crossbow I’ll make sure that Ser Bronn of the Blackwater becomes black and blue
Someone get Cersei her elephants
Okay, so what’s up with the pregnancy? Was it a hoax, or something else...?
THEON!!! Finally stepping up! Finally!
So... anyone else thinking that Yara believes Dany sent Theon to rescue her and that’s why she’s still loyal to this dragon brat?
Tyrion is on and I’m ignoring him.
Davos nooooooooooooo. No marriages!!!
I see you, Varys. I see you showrunners. Nothing lasts, indeed... *laughs evilly*
Aw, what happened to Dany and Sansa braiding eachother’s hair again?
I’m angry at Jon for not defending Sansa. Really. But how much could he actually have done without spelling potential doom for the North? Littlefinger didn’t have dragons. Dany does.
OKAY, NO. THAT WAS A THREAT. A FRICKIN’ THREAT. AND MY FAMILY AND I ARE NOT OKAY WITH IT!!!!!!!!!
........... the dragons are barely eating? Barely? And just how many Northerners could those 29 goats and sheep have fed?
“Um, Dany, giving Jon a dragon might be the dumbest thing you’ve done yet” - My Wonderful Dad
“And that’s saying something” - My Wonderful Brother
Wow, Dany doesn’t give two cents about Jon’s consent. Shocking
Wow, Dany doesn’t give two cents about Rhaegal’s consent. Actually shocking
So... if no one knows how to ride a dragon until they do and you’ve already ridden one so therefore know, give the guy some pointers
Haha you might die. Isn’t that adorable?! *sarcasm sarcasm*
POINTLESS SCENE ENSUES
That boy kept his eyes open, honey. That’s not a good thing.
Drogon and Bran should have a staring contest. My money’s on Bran
(scratch that, my money’s on Jaime and Brienne whenever they see eachother)
Ugh. How many manhood jokes are we going to have before this season’s over?!?!
So... the Hound and Arya’s reunion was kind of underwhelming, imo
Gendrya awwwwww.
Ooh, new weapon. Wonder what it does.
“You don’t know any other rich girls” - Arya // “And with you around he never will.” - My Wonderful Dad
Interesting point my Brother made about Lord Glover always being that guy never wanting to join the fight
Oh, Jon. If political!Jon is true, then stop handling this all on your own. Heck, even if it’s not. Your family is strong as steel. Trust them
Not sure if it’s intentional, but this scene kind of brings to mind shades of Ned and Catelyn in S1, E1 when discussing Ned becoming Hand of the King
Sansa is not helping those vibes. Oh, boy
“Why does everyone who claims Dany will be a good queen sound less like they believe it and more like they’re trying to convince themselves it’s true?” - My Wonderful Brother
SAM!!! MY DEAR CINNAMON ROLL!!! I’VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!!
Oh, shoot. Is this the Tarly reveal? I don’t think an “it was necessary” is going to work this time...
WOW. She didn’t even try to explain her actions. This somehow makes it far worse for me...
Jorah looking guiltier is actually unsettling
You made Sam cry, Dany. The gloves are off. You’re officially irredeemable in my books
Um, has no one wheeled Bran in yet? Like, he’s just been sitting there?
“Waiting for an old friend”? Is it Jaime? It’s got to be Jaime. Wonder if they’ll save the reunion for the end because more parallels
PARENTAGE REVEAL!!! PARENTAGE REVEAL!!!!!!!!
Jon looks so tired all the time in this episode, even with his family. Even if political!Jon isn’t real, Dany certainly isn’t doing him any wonders. And if you say she is, you’re not really watching the show
Awwww, Jon and Sam together again! And Jon is just as happy to see him as his “siblings”! My heart...
“So, are we ever going to find out if Little Sam’s alright, or...?” - My Wonderful Dad
Jon’s reaction to the burning of Sam’s dad and brother is kind of weak, but I”m hoping we get some more of his wrath directed at the source of this fiasco (Dany)
No, Jon. You and Dany aren’t alike in any way. Case and point - how you’ve been talking about how titles don’t matter every two seconds of this episode, while she was about to threaten your “sister” for not “respecting” her. See the difference, sweetie?
PREACH, SAM! PREACH!!!
Um... it probably would’ve been better to lead with Ned’s wasn’t your father than Lyanna’s your mom, but other than that, you’re doing great, Sam
A man from the south tells his northern best friend with a man-bun some game-changing news in a crypt. Sam-Jon, Robert-Ned parallel from S1, E1 achieved
I’m going to take a moment to appreciate how Kit subtly incorporated and conveyed each of the five stages of grief in this scene
“It’s treason”/”It’s the truth”. I mean, maybe it’s just me, but Jon seems almost terrified to hear this news. Which tells me he’s well-aware of how Dany could react to it. Which tells me he’s not as daft as he’s letting on.
“You gave up your crown to save your people. Would she do the same?” Sam knows what’s up and I love him all the more for it
“No, no she wouldn’t” - My Wonderful Dad, Brother, and Less-Wonderful I all at the same time in response to Sam’s query
The score in the back, “Winter is Here”, when “Truth” might’ve been a more ironic, dramatic option - like with the last reveal. Hmmm. I see you, Ramin Djawadi. I see you
Edd! Beric! Tormund! Still stand by the idea that at least one of you should’ve died for emotional weight, but I’m glad to see you.
Okay. The blue eyes joke got a chuckle out of me, I admit
Child nailed at their torso thanks to white walkers parallel to S1, E1 achieved
Ned Umber opening his eyes seriously made me jump and I was expecting it
Child who is actually is a white walker nailed at their torso by white walkers parallel to S1, E1 achieved
And now I’m deaf. Thanks, Ned Umber
“Hey, don’t you think that creepy art piece kind of resembles the Targ sigil?” - My Wonderful Brother before the piece was set on fire
“Hey, now it really does.” - My Wonderful Brother after the piece was set one fire
A rider riding into town and I think I know who it is...
JAIME!!!!!!! *has meltdown because he’s my second favorite character, okay?*
My Wonderful Dad and Brother are just as hyped as I am. Bless them.
Jaime taking off headwear and looking around Winterfell parallel to S1, E1 spotted
Is it just me, or does he actually look happy to be there? I mean, you’d think he’d be more uncertain...
Oh, there’s the uncertainty
Jaime and Bran ending off the episode on a cliffhanger parallel to S1, E1 unlocked
#gots8e1spoilers#dark!dany#anti daenerys#anti jonerys#anti targ restoration#i stand with dickon#sorry it's so long#poilitcal!jon musings#you have been warned#sorry about potential typos and incoherencies

the reactions to got s8 are rlly making me realize how entitled fans have become. now everytime canon doesn't satisfy every one of their whims they're ready to cry bad writing. everyone thinks they're so smart when most of them couldn't even write a script. i've even seen a dumbass redditor proposing to boycott hbo and force them to remake this season like ppl wanted to with the last jedi. i'm tired.
facts
the entitlement shows so much these days. I love making theories and speculating and analyzing characters but at the end of the day the only things I need answered by the writing to be content is “Does it make sense for the plot?” and “Does it also make sense for the character?”. If the answer to those things is Yes then there isn’t a writing flaw to me. The problem a lot of people have is they latch on to plots in their heads and think that’s the ONLY plot that makes sense. The worse mistake they make is with characters tho. Got fans love to write mountains of meta on characters and their nuance but when it actually comes to down to it they consistently strip them of their nuance when what they see doesn’t suit their headcanons.
These days any bad decision made by a character is “wow look at the bad writing” instead of maybe just maybe character X is being motivated by situation Y so they do Z. You see it so much when it comes to discussions about Dany and Jon.
There was this big hoopla about DnD saying Dany forgets about the iron fleet and talking about how Dany’s terrible strategy decision making is terrible and makes no sense when of you just paid an ounce of attention and thought about it, it makes perfect sense for plot and character.
Literally anything that deviates from what they expect is “look at this writing! look at this assassination” it’s also funny when you consider the fact that we’ve had the same writers the entire series. GRRM wasn’t writing the early episodes he HELPED, the majority of that was still done by the people they swear can’t write anymore. People sit on her and pick apart every single thing and swear they care and understand more than the people who have dedicated their lives to something for 10 years now. People feel entitled to their narratives and their narratives only and everything else is trash.
Most of these people have no clue how to balance creating a TV show from a book while managing a massive cast and a very convoluted and complex story. This is demonstrated every day by some of the “superior” writing suggestions people give on here that make zero sense and would make shitty television but since it’s their personal wish fulfillment it’s clearly the better idea than what we got.
This all comes from fans who swear they are smart as hell and could see nuance in a glance but then act like they have to be force fed every part of a narrative that’s outside of their personal expectations in order for it to make sense.
And don’t get me started on this sudden idea that plot and character and inherently opposed to each other and clearly character should take precedent. The way people disparage narrative decisions for the sake of plot, which is literally something you MUST do with writing or else you’re entire story is a massive disjointed and aimless collection of random character studies is so odd.
They are like “ugh plot dictates that person must do X even tho the character I personally think they would do Y instead so clearly this writing decision is terrible and makes no sense” not realizing that any given moment if you have a well written character there are 15 different things they can do or say that make sense for them and the ONE thing they do end up doing usually always serves the plot in some way, whether it be short term or long term.
take the Arya and Sansa plot from last season that people hate. Could Arya have handled her reunion with Sansa differently? Sure, I can think of about 5 other ways it could have gone. Was the way she handled it against her character? Not at all if you actually view Arya as a multidimensional character with her own feelings and past that still influence her connection to other people especially the sister she held a contentious relationship before they were separated. The way arya handled her reunion with Sansa did stick to her character even tho it deprived a lot of fans of the instant stark sister fluff AND it served the plot as well. That’s solid writing even if you didn’t get what you personally wanted at the end of the day. Fans need to realize that every writing decision isn’t about their personal wish fulfillment, if it was that would literally be fanservice which is something everybody claims to hate. Which is the problem here.... everybody want’s their own version fanservice from a story and arrogantly think that their version of that fanservice is the only valid version of a narrative that can possible be written. It’s entitlement, arrogance, and delusion at it’s peak when you think about it.
Look at the way people swear up and down the lack of stark bonding makes no sense when it actually makes a whole lot of sense of you get over your personal desire to see Stark bonding. These characters aren’t fluffy characters anymore, they have their own pasts and mental struggles that will bleed through every interaction. Suddenly being back home with your family members isn’t gonna erase that just because it’s your family. In some ways it makes it even harder, I mean you only have to look at Jon to see a good example of this. Yet with all this going on people still can’t seem to grasp why the Starks don’ sit around the heart tree and laugh and cry about the old days and reflect on their parents and all they’ve lost together all episode before they leave the Godswood as the perfect wolf pact that operates with one mind and consciousness. Instead of getting that instead entitlement overrides all and makes people believe not getting stark fluff in the middle of life or death with all the pressures they have going on it such bullshit and terrible writing. It all goes back to the belief that their version is the only valid version and there is no other alternative.
Ultimately tho I feel bad for a lot of people. They are ruining their own experience and nothing can stop them. I have plenty of things I would LOVE to see, things that I think would make sense, but I’m not delusional enough to think that I can figure it all out myself and I’m not arrogant enough to think that I already have, so I watch and digest, critique what I’m not sure of or uncomfortable with, mock what I think is funny, and enjoy what I think worked even if it wasn’t what I expected. To me this makes for a much more pleasant viewing experience that what a lot of other people seem to have going on.

If you dont mind me asking. What is your problem with Lance Stans?
Alright. I knew I would get this sooner or later. Note I’m not about to pull punches. Also this is a long one because I don’t want to have to answer this again so strap in for a ride. Here’s MY experience with Lance stans. This won’t even get into my experience with Klantis. Because that’s just a whole different ball game.
So, In the beginning everything was fine. And I can say that with confidence because I was in the Tumblr Voltron tag the day the show’ first season dropped on Netflix. I was that excited. Voltron was my childhood and I loved the direction they were taking it and I wanted to talk about it. I instantly loved all the characters but Keith, having been my favorite character in the 80’s series quickly became my favorite once again so I was excited for content on him especially. I can tell you truthfully, that even back in the early days most of the Keith content was shipping him with Lance. At the time I was alright with that. I liked Klance.and everyone shipping it was really chill (if you can believe it) but I noticed that he was usually portrayed as a pining love interest who hyped Lance up and that bummed me out cause Keith was so much more than that, but I was confident that when Keith got more development that would change. But then things took a turn as Lance stans emerged as the most vocal fans in the fandom and Klance as the most popular ship. Because he got so little focus in the first season, people had to supplant their own views of Keith’s character to write fics and draw fanart. So Lance stans already had a certain view of Keith’s character and that was, a way to prop up Lance or highlight Lance’s insecurities so he could apologize to Lance and they could have Langst (Ugh) and Klangst.
Things took a turn in S2 when Keith got his character arc and more spotlight. I was ecstatic.More people started to appreciate KEith, I got more Keith centric fanart and headcanons and Fanfictions. But then I noticed A Lot of Lance stans started to grumble and complain aoubt Keith getting a character arc, because apparently it took away Lance’s screen time and ruined the view they had developed for Keith as a empty love interest. His bond with Shiro and the alone time he got with Allura threatened Klance. Him finding out his heritage, and piloting Black and going on solo missions with other Paladins threatened the view Lance stans had of Keith and because S2 established him as his own character, and back then, for Lance stans, everything Keith needed to revolve around Lance and Lance stans got bitter and the attacks began. Now it’s important to note that there were Hunk fans who were upset Hunk didn’t get an arc, but I never saw any of them go after Keith or his fans. Also other fans were also getting mad at other characters. There were those who went after Allura and Hunk during S2. But once again those fans didnt go after the fans of the characters and they didn’t hate on the characters just to hate, rather criticized their actions, from what I saw. But Lance stans were by far the most vocal, violent and the most antagonistic. It got to the point where Keith fans were forced to participate in the then budding discourse because Lance Stans hijacked the Keith tag and filled it with their crap with bashing Keith and his fans when they defended him and his arc. We were constantly defending him and constantly suffering personal attacks for defending him. I saw Lance stans throw around the words homophobic and racist ( Which was personally offensive to me as I’m black) at Keith fans because we were happy that Keith was getting development after an entire Season out of focus.Because being happy that Keith was getting an arc was a apparently a gross offense that warranted attacks on our personal persons.
Some of the things they said was absolutely insane. Keith was horrible because he argued back when Lance started fights with him. Keith was to blame for Lance’s insecurities because he was better than him at flying. Somehow Iverson chewing out Lance was Keith’s fault. To Lance stans Keith was only one of three thrings, an empty love interest who hypes and props Lance up, A terrible person to blame for Lance’s insecurities or a combination of the two. By extension Keith fans who so much as pointed out things like Lance being mean to Keith or expressed love for Keith were Terrible people who supported the sidelining of their precious golden boy. It didnt help that I didnt know how to exclude tags on Ao3 at the time so I couldnt escape it even if I left tumblr.
As someone who viewed 80’s Keith as her Hero as a child, and who absolutely adored his new portrayal and related to him on every single level, seeing him get attacked so much was disheartening. Every trip to his tag had me leaving so sad and upset.
It got even worse when s3 dropped and Black Paladin Keith was confirmed. After months of Lance stans ragging on us and screaming for Black Paladin Lance and making headcanons about how Keith would never be chosen for the Black Paladin and that the Black Lion would absolutely reject him for Lance , to have all that debunked with Black actually rejecting everyone else and accepting Keith was too much and it sent Lance stans into a nuclear meltdown. The attacks came more and more, everyday in the tag turned into a war. Many Keith fans had to make separate accounts to combat the hate just to keep it all from our main account. It was TERRIBLE. There were so many Lance stans in the Keith tag claiming that Keith was a terrible character, that he didn’t deserve screetime and that Lance should be the main character, the black paladin, that he should get all the arcs and after months of fighting for the right to have Keith as my favorite character I. WAS.TIRED. I was tired of fighting just to have a good experience in the tag. I was tired of the attacks. I was tired of watching other Keith fans get attacked and get fed up and complain about how much they had to block and filter just to have a positive experience. I was tired of words like homophobic and racist being thrown out by Lance stans like candy. I was just tired. And so I stepped out of the fandom. I tried to still watch the show but it just reminded me of the horrible time I had and I stopped watching it as well.
I occasionally stepped my toe back in a couple of times like when Keith’s blog dropped, when his birthday was revealed, when Krolia was introduced and when the fandom did something particularly toxic and I just had to know, but my time watching the show and interacting with the fandom was done.
Until the last season dropped and there was a huge movement of people leaving the fandom and I wanted to see what was so bad and I ended up binging the entire show and rediscovered my love for it (Excluding S8 because yeah) and Keith. And thus I wondered back into the fandom.
So in conclusion, Lance stans ultimately drove me away from Voltron ( A franchise I’ve loved since I was a literal child) and I’m not ashamed to say I deeply resent them for it. I’m mature enough to admit that not all Lance stans are like that, that some hate the toxic stans just as much as I do , that some absolutely love and respect Keith but there’s too much negative feelings that I hold for that side of the fandom so i felt it best to just entirely exclude them from my Voltron experience. There’s too much of a chance that I’ll run into toxic ones again and I don’t want my time in this fandom to be ruined again. This fandom under all the toxicity can be really fun and nice and I refuse to give up on something I love ever again. And it sucks because I do love Lance and I have to pretty much stay away from his tag.
It doesn’t help that Lance stans still have the reputation of being the toxic side of the fandom for not only switching to bashing every other character in the show ( even side characters) for being ‘mean’ to Lance, but also for going after the cast and crew of the show ( Lance Stans attacked Neil Kaplan in droves because he said something about Lance), and that terribly cringy thing with the Lance stan at SDCC literally yelling at the voice actors because they felt no one appreciated him. It also doesn’t help that even now it’s a running joke even to people OUTSIDE the fandom to ‘watch what you say about that Blue guy from Voltron or his cult of fans will attack you.” I don’t want to be anywhere near that shit.
The silver lining is that the love and appreciation for Keith is at an all time high and the posts I do unfortunately come across that bash him all come from posts Lance stans made in 2017, or as I like to call ‘ the dark ages of Keith fandom’. And that Keith hate is actually out of the norm and other fans, not only Keith fans are quick to shut it down and that Fans of the other characters are just as quick to go after the fanatical Lance standom making everything about Lance. Turns out taking a break and coming back actually resulted in a much better environment so y’know small mercies and all that.

The Umbrella Academy 1x01-03
okay, so I have been watching this new show cause y’all know I love me some group based narratives. And the premise feels very fun with lots of ways they can play around with it. It’s like Sense8 if Sense8 focused more on worldbuilding and constructing an overarching narrative to connect all the characters too. However, I find these two shows to be inverses of each other even though their premises are similar thematically. UA and S8 (how I will abbreviate them) seem to excel and stumble in a complementary fashion. Before I get too deep in what I mean, I should talk more about just the UA itself and my general impressions over the first 3 episodes.
OVERALL, it’s enjoyable. I feel like the world building and the over arching plot are the two main elements propelling me through the series. Which like... GOOD! That’s what is supposed to happen when watching a show. If you don’t like the story, watching the show feels like a task. But I am genuinely intrigued by the mystery of the show and what will happen next. Five: “The world will end in 8 days.” Vanya “I’ll put some coffee on then.” Solid way to end a pilot and leave me wanting more. Not just for the next episode, but that is a great way to kick off the first season. BOOM! The Hargreaves have to band together and stop the world end of the world. I just appreciate this because it gives a solid foundation for all other storylines to center around. It is something your brain can stay conscious of throughout each episode and I feel that is such a strong element and important element for a tv show to posses to be good.
Continuing with the writing, I think so far the pace is decent and the writing is competent from episode to episode. The less important, character-driven storylines are given weight but never take too much focus from the main plot. The dialogue is passable. It doesn’t have a very distinct personality to itself though. If the character is not eccentric themselves, then they probably won’t ever say anything interesting. Which ugh ehh. I just wish the dialogue called more intention to itself because that way the writers could infuse more character moments in fun little quibs. However, it does its job so I can’t complain.
But I will complain about the use of flashback in the show. The flashbacks feel more used to quickly establish something that is happening in the present day storyline than really be anything more than that. Which is.. like technically okay and the POINT of a flashback. But it is so cliche and I believe there are other, more unique ways to deliver information than just cutting to a flashback. Granted, I do love seeing then team as young teens fighting crime. That’s super cool and I wish the show showed more of that. Cause MY GOD does this show need some more ACTION scenes in it.
I feel like my biggest problem in the first 3 episodes is that the action feels second to the drama and that totally needs to be reversed. I’m so sorry, but outside of whatever Five is doing, all the other individual character storylines are so fucking boring. I don’t care what any of them do when it doesn’t relate to the main plot. I think that’s why I like Diego’s character cause his whole thing is ABOUT the main plot. I mean, I feel like the show will deliver in terms of action. It’s clear that more insane elements will get thrown in and the filmmakers do like the demonstrate the special powers in fun ways. So I am excited to see what action scenes will come up. I just think overall the show needs more cause the melodrama kinda sorta makes the episodes drag. Like, why is Diego constantly in his fight clothes but he has only been in 2 fight scenes? And Five has like what 3 or 4 in just the first 3 episodes?
And MY GOD DO I HATE HOW THIS SHOW IS SHOT!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH the cinematography is fucking crap. I hate how it is lit. I hate how the director decided to compose the shots. I hate how there appears to be this like.... haze fliter???? on everything??? Like every scene looks cloudy. It’s like supersaturated. I don’t like it cause 1) I feel it does not help the tone of the show. I feel like we shouldn’t take everything so seriously and have more fun with the premise. But this smoky haze filter makes everything more somber and I think it bumps with most of what actually happens on the show. And 2) it genuinely makes it harder to make out expressions in the actor’s faces. Ugh fire the DP. They are doing a terrible job.
Let’s talk about the individual characters:
1) Luther. Hate him. Boring white man. Why is he “the leader of the family” after the dad has passed? Like he has not a single interesting aspect about himself. I am honestly so bored every time he talks. And it doesn’t help with the fact that the actor’s head is way too small for the illusion they are trying to create for the character. It’s like “Yeah, let’s put a stale ass, tiny ass white man head on this GIANT 7 foot muscle clad body. He just looks bizarre cause his face says “5′11″ and toned” but his body is that of a bodybuilder. I just wish they found an actor who is just massive like that already for the show. The ridiculous costume they have him in honestly takes me out of it for a bit. And it doesn’t help that they actor isn’t really trying to do anything with the character. Luther says lines. Luther is strong. That’s about it. I will say that despite him being “Number 1″ and “the leader of the family” the show hasn’t given him that much screen time and we still don’t know much about him at all. Which I really appreciate cause it is giving a lot of other (more interesting) characters necessary focus and thus makes getting through Luther scenes that much easier. I don’t know need to learn more about it. Just have him be strong in a corner.
2) Diego. MY FUTURE HUSBAND!!!!!! HE IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! I WILL SUCK THE SOUL OUT OF HIS DICK AND ASS HE IS SO FINE OMG yeah badass martial artist who throws knives and has a bit of an anger management problem. I am SMITTEN! I mean eww why the fuck does he have to be straight and keep hitting on that one detective. Honestly, ugh I hate that he is straight. It’s boring and unoriginal. It would have been neat for him to be asexual. He is good looking so people assume that he would be a lady killer. But he is WAY too obsessed with fighitng crime that he literally doesn’t pay attention to his own sexuality. But WAHTEVER! The queer character has to be the eccentric one with the drug problem alkfhadlskfadslkfbdskh ANYWAYS I like hos Diego adds a healthy amount of doubt amongst the group. In terms of constructing group dynamics, he is a lancer AKA the one always playing devil’s advocate. I think he adds a valuable perspective to the team and it will be interesting to see how the family will solve problems with integration of Diego’s help. I don’t like how the show handle showing the relationship between Diego and Mom/ Grace. But I will dive more into that when I talk about the flashbacks.
3) Allison. My god is she boring. But like, in the perspective in how she is an actress, yet doesn’t act like an actress. I mean, yes some actors can act like “normal people” but like... most actors don’t. I say this as someone who lives in LA and knows actors. They have BIG PERSONALITIES. They like to be KNOWN! However, Allison just feels way too subdued and “normal”. Like, okay she must have pursued an acting career of her own violation. So she must be a person who loves attention and strives for their chance to be in the spotlight. Everything needs to revolve around them. But that’s not Allison. She isn’t really anything. She is concerned about her daughter... if feel like that’s the only real thing we have learned about her so far. I wish her narrative had an angle about her being attention seeking. During the scene when all the siblings were reading Vanya’s autobigraphy, the voiceover cut to Allison when the VO mentioned attention seeking. Which, if that is an aspect of Allison’s character, then SHOW it to us. Have her do SOMETHING besides give creepy incest bedroom eyes to Luther.
4) Klaus. Finally, an interesting character! His powers are unique yet have a direct influence on how his personality is shaped. His is a drug addict because dead people are constantly trying to talk to him. Kinda sorta metaphor for the mentally unwell and how they abuse drugs because “It makes the voices go away”. They just have a lot of things they can do with him and the writers know this. They obviously have some extra fun when writing him. I just wish the other characters were a lot more sympathetic towards him. Like.... maybe try and talk to him about his drug problem? Rather than patronize it literally every single time you talk to him. SERIOUSLY every single scene Klaus is in with one of his siblings, they always HAVE to mention his drug problem AND THEN scold him for it. Like............ that’s not very constructive? Like at all! But I guess that’s just how some families are to one another. Also, it is very interesting to see how they are handling Robert Sheehan’s performance in UA compared to Misfits. In Misfits, he has a tendency to devour each scene he was in, to the point where he felt like the central character of that show. But Nathan was such a great character, that often times you didn’t mind how he would steamroll over others because it was done in such an entertaining way. But in the UA, the director’s have chosen to use Robert Sheehan’s signature eccentric style to flavour the scenes, rather than change the tone of the scene altogether (unlike how they used Nathan in Misfits). Anyways, I am most intrigued to see what they will do with his character.
5) Five. I don’t have too much to say about him because I feel like there is a lot more to be discovered about this character. Overall, I like the concept around the character and tbh he gets some of the best scenes in the first 3 episodes. I am truly impressed with the actor portraying this character. I think he is doing quite a great job in giving us the nuances of the character. A 58-year-old trapped in the body of a 13-year-old. Like, I get that. I see that. It works and I am here for it.
6) Ben. WOW so the one Asian one is dead and barely gets any lines. Ugh okay. Really REALLY want to learn more about him. Really intrigued with how he died to begin with. Hopefully the show shares this story element in an interesting way that connects to the main plot in a way other than just thematically.
7) Vanya. I.... I wanna hold my tongue about her. Cause she is obviously the audience perspective character for this world. So there isn’t much to say about her besides her being a tool to help the audience get integrated into the show’s world. I just... I gotta wait cause I feel like they are going to do something cool with her character and I don’t wanna make any.... undeserved assumptions. I just want more from her which like... I guess is a good thing?
#the umbrella academy#Imma try and do reviews for this show#but it probably won't be episode by episode like I did with Sense8#netflix#review#tv show

Okay but what in the actual fuck...?
I just watched 9x03 and I have a lot of Thoughts. Spoilers ahead I guess.
For the Minor (read: non-Jamko) Issues that I hated... let’s just get these out of the way:
Wtf @ Erin in this whole episode. Misunderstandings/communication failures with coworkers happen all the time. But she was so unnecessarily bitchy to Anthony. And then she blamed him for making her look like an asshole in front of everyone else. Nope, that’s your own fault, gtfo. And don’t even with their ~sweet reconciliation~ with booze at the end. That doesn’t excuse Erin for acting like a terrible person.
Wtf @ Frank/Garrett’s whole storyline. Garrett acts like some butthurt 7th grader who didn’t get invited to the cool kid’s sleepover birthday party. “I may not be a cop but I’m still important!” Ugh. Quit the whining. And also what was even the point of this story existing? Cool @ the secret bunker but centering the story on Garrett’s Feelings was dumb.
....I actually liked Danny/Baez’s story for once. You know it’s bad when I just want the next Danny scene to curtail my misery.
OKAY BUT THE REASON WE’RE ALL HERE: Wtf @ Jamko. I hate everything. Let me elaborate:
Jamie seems so indifferent to Eddie when she brings him lunch. I could almost excuse that in the name of Looking Tough as the boss at a new shitshow precinct. But then Eddie sits down like she’s going to hang out and chat and he actually sighs and rolls his eyes like she’s this big imposition. Eddie, sis, you deserve so much better than this clown.

He also tells her during that scene that the 2-9 is “much busier than the 12th” with a gross undertone of “...so can you go so I can get back to work?” Ugh. Fine @ being professional at work but... really? Act like you like her a little.
Can Eddie give Jamie a compliment other than “you look good in stripes” every episode for the rest of our lives? I mean look at that jawline.
I’ve had Feelings about Eddie’s wardrobe this entire season so far, and that continues here. Why does she look all dressed up to bring Jamie lunch at the precinct? Dresses at Sunday dinner are one thing, but normal, Off Duty Eddie would be in a t-shirt and jeans, not all fancy like here (and in that bar scene with the yellow dress). It’s some kind of intentional Choice, I think, to make her softer and more ~feminine~ as if that’ll win over the Eddie Haters who are probably pissed about their engagement. IT’S OKAY HATERS I AM TOO. LET’S BE FRIENDS.
Though I also think there are new wardrobe people all around. Like what’s with Jamie’s clothes this season? I can’t handle these chinos and iced macchiato colored Pumas. Bring back the dorky dad New Balances and dark jeans.
Sorry, I’m getting ahead of myself. Anyway.
This diner scene. I had mixed feelings.
Pros: Jamie looks hot af. Eddie has a 10/10 ponytail. Apparently Jamie is putting off sleeping post-night shift to eat with her, which let me tell you as a night shift nurse, this is a Big Deal. So maybe he does actually like her or something.
Cons: it makes me sad that Eddie is less than up front with Jamie. Like you’re going to marry this guy but you don’t want to tell him some info that’s honestly probably not new to him? Odd. Also why does Eddie say she’s “dating” Jamie? That was weird. Him correcting her was kinda cute and their conversation was less forced in that scene than it has been this season but still, really?
Also wtf @ this weird hand holding situation? Jamie looks like the Claw in one of those stuffed animal vending machines at the bowling alley.

OH SIDENOTE: Somewhere In here, Anthony calls Erin “sweetheart” in this gross demeaning tone and it was gross. Moving on.
OH COOL WE’RE... mini golfing? Okay this might be cute?
WAIT JAMIE FUCKING PROPOSED AT THE MINI GOLF PLACE? Oh my god kill me now.
Who..... who thought that was a good idea?
It’s like the writers are trying to throw fans a bone since they know everyone wants to know more about how he proposed. But it comes off as ridiculous satire and/or them almost making fun of the fans. I look forward to reading all the coming fics of this Putt Putt Proposal™️ and making fun of everything 5ever.
Also LOL @ the idea of Jamie and Eddie at this mini golf place on a Sunday morning before family dinner. Who the fuck goes mini golfing (...and proposes there) on Sunday morning?
OH NOW WE CAN TALK ABOUT THESE SHOES:

Okay and the pants also showcase Jamie’s Assets nicely. That’s a trend in recent episodes I can be on board with. So maybe I shouldn’t complain. But also bring back his jeans plz. Like what are we, on vacation at the country club?

What’s with Jamie grabbing Eddie’s wrist all the time? But also 👀 @ his grip here like can we see this in another context next week? 🌶

WHAT IS GOING ON? Does... does Eddie just carry a copy of their ~vows~ around in her purse? Or did she just jot those down real quick as they’re chatting? Either way, wtf?
It’s a little sweet, I guess, that Eddie wants to transfer to the precinct where everyone hates Jamie to be a friendly face/change everyone’s minds about their new boss. But I am seriously sick of this will-they-won’t-they back and forth as far as working together. The will-they-won’t-they was more fun when it was will they or won’t they fuck.
And them working together is a terrible idea anyway. Would it even be allowed for an officer’s fiancé to be her direct superior at work? That seems even more professionally compromising than an engaged couple riding together. Cool I hate it.
Do all married/soon-to-be married couples settle disagreements by just... reciting their vows? What is this, a recap of the S8 finale? WHY?
Oh hey they’re kissing. Oh that’s nice. But why are we looking up from underneath their chins?
OH LOOK EDDIE’S AT THE 2-9 making major Heart Eyes at her sergeant/fiancé. So I guess this settles the last 3 episodes of uncertainty as far as their Work Future. COOL I HATE IT.

That dinner scene was... something.
I’m surprised the Reagans were so fine with Eddie and Jamie’s little practical joke centering on grace. The show could’ve accomplished a similar result without turning the prayer into a joke. And I don’t think fucking up the prayer is going to endear Eddie to any Haters. So that was an interesting choice.
I’m also tired of this drawn out Transition of Eddie fitting in at family dinners. When I imagined Eddie integrating into the Reagan family I saw maybe one awkward, best-behavior instance and then fast forward to next week and she’s going at it with Danny and Erin, requiring Frank to intervene and remind everyone of dinner table decorum.
But I guess playing tricks on the fam means she’s One Of Them now?
Here’s my official vote for a Normal family dinner next week, which just happens to include Eddie in a seamless way, as if she’s always been there. No more Big Events at dinner.
In conclusion, why do I watch this show?
There was one Redeeming Factor — the cop at the 2-9 at the beginning who says “Is that a stick up your butt or are you just happy to see me?” Jamie wishes he had something up his butt. @ontherockswithsalt I hope you’re on that. I need Something To Believe In.

I wish I was like you guys!
Sheithers, I love the tinhat theories and the ringgate conspiracy and I'm all for the possibility of JoshK coming back to the studio to maybe record extra scenes for Shiro since the delay of s8.
But
And this is a realistic BUT for me
Until I hear StevenY come back to the studio to record for Keith too--I can't in good conscious think that the reason why the extra animation and extra audio is entirely for Sheith.
Like they say: it takes two to tangle.
And so far, we only heard JoshK coming back which he has something to do with Shiro based on the new sketches we saw so it makes sense.
But until I hear news of StevenY going back to add more audio for Keith, I honestly can only spazz with yall about a possible "Sheith Ending" in fanon--'cause I can't get my hopes up for it in canon when we only heard news of one VA coming back so far.
Sorry if I bursted any bubbles but I can't, for my own sake, participate in any "sheith is gonna be canon cuz of this delay" ideas as Fact when it isn't yet--I hope.
And I am so desperately hoping.
Please don't think this is me picking at ya'lls ideas 'cause I honestly want it to be true so badly but I couldn't agree fully with the few posts I've seen saying "yes this is definitely the real reason why Josh and the animation team is back! For Sheith!" When we aren't 100% certain.
I guess this is me being the stupid voice in the back of my head giving me doubts and I'm so so sorry if I sound negative and seem like yall are "wrong" 'cause you're not! But I'm honestly not sure if we're right with it either.
Ugh I'm so contradicting imma stop rambling I'm so sorry please ignore me I'm just afraid and I need to do better at handling it.
Super long story short: Bleach messed me up real good and ever since then I can not trust any of my own ships or even characters to get the proper ending or canon they deserve so just ignore me please this is me being insecure on my ships with myself and I'm sorry for the unnecessarily long ramble.
I thought I was over that past fandom but here I am still being weak and stupid and dreading that despite all the canon evidence to support Sheith romantically and the fact I'm the one who chose to interpret and analyze the ship in that way too--I might still see them not get together which would be fine but my biggest fear is seeing them get with two other people with no chemistry or even worse get a horrifying unsatisfying ending of their arcs despite everything they went through together.
The fact even though I think Sheith is romantic and I hope I'm not wrong for seeing their canon that way that somehow and in some way s8 will prove I'm still fucking wrong and I shouldn't have gotten my stupid hopes up because haha s8 ended with Shiro with someone else and how dumb was I to assume Keith was into Shiro!
And that fucking terrifies me.
That I once again analyzed a ship through their canon moments as romantic--not like klantis do with KL blindly but took the time to break it down and actually see that, like with Allurance, Sheith has potential for something stronger than platonic--but the writers did a "syke bitch you wrong" and show that my interpretation was deadass wrong and I'm the one to blame for hoping.
I'm sorry I'm sorry this is stupid and I make no sense please ignore me. I just had this sudden grip of terror about Sheith and I don't want it to be like Bleach. I hate Bleach it fucked me up and I can't forgive it but here I am letting it scare me with Sheith because I know I know the writers would never do that. They wouldn't trick people about Allurance and they wouldn't string people around with Sheith...
But I didn't think Bleach's writer would either...
Imma fucking stop I'm sorry please just forget this imma delete I promise. I'm sorry I'm sorry.

My Personal Voltron Season 7 Review
Okay, so I’m seeing a lot of S7 hate and love on here, and I have some opinions of my own, so let’s talk…
(Just so you know, none of my opinions are influenced by which ships did or didn’t get their moment.)
THE BADS:
• First off, I hated the game show episode. Hated it. The only part I liked was the end where they all voted for who should get to leave and gave reasons for it, but then they just cut through a good moment with Keith’s reasoning for picking Lance. Like, totally threw his character development out the window for a jab at Lance, which, ha ha, makes an audience of ten-year-olds laugh I guess. But for older and long-time fans of the show, it just fell short of anything good. The whole episode was full of Lance jabs, too. And Lance has been developing as a character, so I don’t think that was very fair. Here, it’s like the one-sided rivalry all the way back from S1 is back, but this time Keith, the leader, is the petty one. I just really didn’t like that episode. Overall, they were barely in character, character development was completely ignored, and it did not move the plot along What So Ever. Filler episodes were cute in earlier seasons, but this season is the penultimate. There’s sooo many more filler options that could’ve maintained the tone of the season while still being funny and light-hearted.
• Too many new characters. I feel like the writers are digging themselves in a hole here. Don’t get me wrong, I like Romelle, but she’s just… there. In the background. The only scenes where she’s given any screen time are comedic ones, which is great, but she’s just tagging along and the loss of hER ENTIRE CIVILIZATION AND HER BROTHER DYING IN HER ARMS Is never acknowledged. I would’ve liked to have seen a bonding moment between Allura and Romelle, maybe even with Coran. Hell, they could’ve made THAT the filler episode. Aside from Romelle, I feel like they did a good job with Krolia’s character and her bond with Keith, but they haven’t really given us a reason as to why she’s there. What’s her purpose? Too much screen time with too little impact on the plot, in my opinion. Don’t get me started on Acxa. No point. Literally no point. I seriously hope that the writers have plans for her in S8 other than Keith’s love interest. Characters don’t have to fall in love to get closure, but it seems like that might be the “closure” route they’re heading to with Keith and it scares me. It’s such a forced relationship. I don’t mind Keith getting with a girl but shit, at least put him with someone the audience can connect with. A blade member that he fought side-by-side with or something, not “Im so sorry for being on an evil team, I’m different now” and “don’t you remember how she never wanted to kill him uwu” ugh. Please stop. And I like Griffin’s team, a lot, but I’m not sure what the purpose is of introducing a group of characters with main-character potential with only one season left. Maybe it’s a surprise, or maybe they just did it so the audience could be better invested in the flashbacks about what happened to Earth.
• The??? Fucking getting lost in space??? How? Like, I sort of understand the purpose: Keith’s been separated from the team for a while, and they need to re-establish their bond. However, it seems like Keith’s character development has been ignored again, and he’s reverted back to S1 Keith, which is really annoying. I was rolling my eyes the whole time. Like, I get it, they’re going a little space-crazy, and they’re gonna turn on each other a bit. But it’s like the writers forgot that they aren’t in S1 and S2 anymore, or at least that’s how it felt to me. Angsty Keith, *yawn* been there, done that. He’s an adult now. And their leader. They could’ve gone about re-forging the paladins’ bonds another way. Not to mention, the time-lighting thing was never explained, never made any sense. Oh! And guess what else was ignored? The characters figured out a long freakin time ago that they could call out to their lions for help, did they just forget?
• Shiro and Keith practically don’t interact throughout the entire season, besides ep 1. Again, I kind of get it. They dedicated an entire episode to their bond, last season and this one. I’m not looking for more proof of their bond, but they need to talk about Shiro being dead, Keith fighting his clone, and Keith willingly falling to his death with Shiro. They’ve both got to be traumatized on some level, and it’s not even acknowledged. Like, what are the writers afraid of? Are they afraid that the Sheith shippers will get their hopes up? Are they afraid Klance shippers will get mad? Are they afraid people will get bored of Shiro and Keith interacting? Did they just not have enough time to address it (*cough* game show episode *cough*)? Like, regardless of the reasoning, a lot of shit happened between the two that needs to be talked about. I don’t know and it doesn’t matter if the writers intend for them to be like brothers or best friends or something more, that kind of stuff needs closure. Shiro probably has nightmares about dying/being dead and trying to kill his team. Keith probably has flashbacks of the first person other than his dead father to care about him trying to murder him and saying he should’ve abandoned him. Writers, please, even a thirty second conversation would suffice if it’s done well. They at least need a
“I’m sorry I tried to kill you, Keith.”
“It wasn’t you, Shiro. I’m sorry I didn’t know you were dead.”
“It’s okay, you saved me from that darkness. I thought I was going to be there forever.”
Then they hug and go on their ways. That’s it! That’s the bare minimum. That would’ve sufficed. Shiro’s obviously got some heavy inner monologue, why push it off to S8 or ignore it completely?
• And for my last bad, we have: killing Adam. This isn’t about shipping; I really didn’t care if Shiro and Adam got back together or not. But they deserved closure. Shiro deserves closure. I know Shiro’s the “stoic leader” but he has feelings, and the writers just keep making bad shit happen to him and never address how it’s affected him. Listen, Shiro is an LGBT+ rep regardless of whether he’s in a relationship, as long as he isn’t killed off. But give him some depth. The closest thing to that we’ve gotten so far is knowing that he (used to have?) muscular dystrophy, and seeing his memories of Keith. Other than that, where’s his backstory? His reason for joining the Garrison? His family? How his adventures have affected him mentally? Adam could’ve been the window to all of that, but they killed off an opportunity. If they wanted to highlight the loss of war, they could’ve killed one of Lance’s many family members, or one of Hunk’s; but Adam, as far as we know, was all Shiro had to come back to. He was the only way that they could’ve taken Shiro and made him into a more complex character. Besides that, I don’t think it’s right that they had us anticipating meeting this queer character for nearly an entire season before revealing he’d died. It’s not as bad as when some shows kill off queers, but still… I hope they give Shiro a romantic interest in someone else; queer representation includes healthy queer relationships and happy endings.
Overall for the bads, in my opinion, this is the gist of it: Character development was ignored at times. Some of the writing was lazy. Too many characters/plot point, too little time. Not addressing major issues with characters. And… queerbaiting. You don’t have to agree, but this is my opinion on queerbaiting: it isn’t black and white. Sometimes it’s terrible, sometimes it’s just a little annoying. Voltron killed off a queer character, but he wasn’t a main, and he wasn’t the only queer, and we didn’t know him. On the other hand, he was the only other (confirmed) queer character’s love interest. On a queerbaiting scale of 1-10, I’d call it a 5. Like I said, it’s partly redeemable if they give Shiro another male love interest.
THE GOODS:
• Shiro’s flashbacks of Keith. We’ve been seeing since S1 how much Keith cares about Shiro, and now we finally get a glimpse of Shiro caring about Keith. The “we saved each other” line. The flashbacks paired with Keith’s desperation really cemented that bond that they started showing us in S6, and little Keith was adorable. It was also important to get a little more background on Keith, it tied up all the loose ends from Keith and Krolia’s time in the quantum abyss. Also in ep 1, the humor was top-notch. The writers managed to make comedy out of a dire situation for the paladins, and Romelle seemed to fit in very well! And I find it impressive that shifting back and forth between the funny, light-hearted adventure of the others and the solemn, tense situation in the Black Lion didn’t kill the mood of either plot line. It will come as no surprise to you that ep 1 was my favorite of the season; probably one of my favorites in the series.
• Having Krolia separate from the team. Don’t get me wrong, I love Krolia. She’s a great mom and her relationship with Keith was written perfectly; it checked all the boxes for my hopes when Keith finally met his mother. But she was older and more mature than the paladins; she didn’t fit in. In her heart, she’s a member of the Blade, and she knows she’s more useful to the cause as a spy and fighting alongside Kolivan. I’m glad that they didn’t undercut my love for Krolia by having her awkwardly tagging along. And the writers kicked fragile masculinity’s ass with the goodbye scene between Keith and Krolia. The soft smiles, the “I love you”s, the hugs, and KeiTH GIVING HER HIS BLADE THAT HES HAD SINCE HE WAS A BABY BECAUSE HE KNEW HED SEE HER AGAin those were all wonderful. Everything about the mother/son relationship between Keith and Krolia, from the moment they met to the moment they said goodbye, was perfectly executed. They took their time with it. Kudos to the writers for that.
• Character development. Barring everything I said in the ‘BADS’ because I don’t want to be repetitive, the character development in S7 was phenomenal. We have Lance taking on more leadership responsibilities, stepping up, protecting people he cares about at the risk of his own life, and respecting Keith as the team leader. In this season, I’ve grown to respect Lance a lot (ha) more. And we finally get some background on Hunk, we see him missing his family and home, we see him crying, being frustrated about it. We see him opening up to Keith. Keith, of all people (maybe Keith was the only one who asked). Either way, I love the depth they gave Hunk, and I love the acknowledgement of Keith and Hunk’s friendship, especially after that lost in space scene. And Keith’s character development, omg. It was the best. He was a leader before, but now, he could give Shiro a run for his money. Maybe he already did. The team respects him unhesitatingly. He leads them out of every life-or-death situation on top. He helps them forge a closer bond with their lions than they’ve ever had before, on more than one occasion. And he does something that’s really hard for him, which is asking someone else (Hunk) to open up to him. He offers to listen to his teammate’s worries. His fighting (mostly hand-to-hand combat) skills are clearly the best we’ve seen in the show, right on the same level with Shiro. When he killed that Druid without seeing him I was like 😯, and when hE LAUNCHED OUT AN AIRBORNE LION AND SLICED THROUGH SENDAK LIKE HE WAS NOTHING BECAUSE SHIRO WAS IN DANGER I Was like 😲!!!
• The animation was outstanding. I know the poor animators were busting their asses, especially during those last few episodes. It’s got to be the best animation I’ve seen in the show so far (besides the ‘The Black Paladins’ animation in S6, it sent me into another dimension). In fact, VLD has some of the best animation I’ve ever seen in shows of its kind, and that’s saying something. Those fight scenes get you so immersed, and they’re like a visual orgasm.
• This one is more opinion than anything else, so I’ll keep it short, but I love how they showed the fighting spirit of Earth. How humanity never gives in. I think that’s part of why everyone enjoyed those flashback episodes of Earth so much; the audience felt they could relate to those people, and they felt proud to call themselves human. In the show, while interrogating Sendak’s memories, they asked, “What do you do if a planet refuses to give up?” (Referring to Earth). And Sendak basically says, “We destroy it, but the only planet who’s ever refused to give up is Altea.” And I. Love. That. Time and time again, we’ve been shown how smart and powerful the Alteans were, and now we’re being compared to them. I love the overall way that the writers handled the paladins’ return to Earth. I love the paladins’ interactions with Griffin’s team, I love the Alteans integrating easily with humans, I love humanity’s resilience being showcased, I love the reunions, I love Keith’s interaction with Iverson, and, most of all (some people won’t agree with me on this), I love that humans already knew about aliens and the Galra when Voltron returned. I would have dreaded them having to go through quarantine, and being called crazy, and having to fight against the Garrison, and whatnot. I just love how most of the last few episodes were handled; it was mostly the middle of the season that I had issues with.
Overall for the goods: I liked getting a little insight into how much Shiro cares for Keith. I liked ep 1 a lot. I liked how well they handled everything about Krolia. I liked the character development and background that we FINALLY get throughout the season. The amazing animation. Enough said. And the way the writers wrote Earth, in the flashbacks and in the present.
Overall for the season: I don’t think it completely tanked. I think too much of people’s opinions are based on ships, but I agree that this was not the best season, and it fell short in a lot of areas. It was a little disappointing, but not un-redeemable, and I think everyone who’s saying “fuck Voltron” and swearing to never watch it again is a bit ridiculous and childish, tbh. Disagree if you want, but that’s my opinion and last I checked, I was allowed to have one.
Alright, let me know if I left anything out! Feel free to add anything or share your opinion, even if it’s negative, I want to know your thoughts!

Let me go over what I learned happened in s8.... this is just what I’ve learned from other people’s posts. Let me know I’ve gotten things wrong (and any further clarification would be appreciated, if you’ve seen s8)
Lotor’s corpse was shown onscreen shortly after flashbacks proving that he was a good person who grew up abused & brainwashed by his parents. His corpse was then used as a puppet by Haggar, his mother and abuser. Allura finally says that Lotor had good intentions after two seasons of not once showing regret or second thoughts on what they’ve done to him. Haggar tells her that Lotor was truly happy when he was with her. No remorse is shown, apparently nobody cares that they’ve murdered him. The fact that they created a power vacuum within the Galra Empire and caused the deaths of thousands of people all because they didn’t think twice before attacking & abandoning Lotor (aka the one who GENUINELY wanted to help bring peace & also the one who was literally the SOLUTION) to die in the rift, is never addressed or questioned. The Colony story that was the Plot in s6 was never addressed. I’m wondering what were the writers’ intention with Lotor?! It’s like they can’t make up their minds. They had people-- including those who he once most trusted-- slander and demonize him. Then they humanized him and showed us that he was a Good person who was abused and traumatized by his parents & tried not to be like them. Then they showed us a grotesque imagery of his corpse. Then they went all like, yup he was a Good Person all along who was “misguided” & he could have had a Redemption Arc, but whoops, he’s dead. His death was meaningless. It was without reason or purpose. All I’m seeing from this is a terrible message surrounding abuse victims. They ditched a story of hope, a redemption/vindication arc for a meaningless tragedy. Congrats. I can’t forgive them for what they did. I can’t.
Line from s6, from Lotor’s confrontation with Haggar, who’s kidnapped him and tries to get him to stay with her, but is rejected by Lotor. Lotor says this to her: “The end is near, witch. I know you can sense it. If you beg for your life now, maybe I will take pity on you when the time comes.” This was CLEAR foreshadowing. But in the end? Lotor’s rotting corpse being used as a puppet. Then in the end, him immediately forgiving his parents & happily reconciling with them in the afterlife. What. The. Flippin. Heck. What was the POINT of that whole confrontation then? More importantly, what was the point of the whole colony plot?! It was the Plot of s6!! It was what led them to abandon & murder Lotor, which then led to a power vacuum in the Galra Empire & death of thousands!! & led to what happened in s7 & s8!!! The entire situation surrounding the colony plot was clearly Fishy as Hell, implied that there was a misunderstanding going on, that Lotor was likely going to get vindicated/redeemed, and also that Haggar had her nasty fingers in the PIe. But literally nothing came out of it. WHAT. WAS. THE. POINT. Clearly something happened behind the scenes between s6 & s8.
Somehow Zarkon comes back via Haggar & quintessence, but he’s Good guy Zarkon (aka pre-corrupted)? I’m not sure how this happened, but okay. I mean, if anyone could give me the full rundown on how things led up to this. He got a redemption arc. Hagerva got a redemption arc too.
I don’t have a problem with redemption arcs. I love them. I hate the whole Tumblr™ “you have to earn redemption” thing. Redemption isn’t something that is earned. Anyone can be redeemed-- even the worst person possible. However, in stories it HAS to be told well. It’s got to be meaningful. And frankly the main reason why I have a problem with them getting redemption arcs is because Lotor never got one while his parents did. He never got a redemption or a vindication arc. Zarkon and Haggar was allowed to have a voice, while Lotor was not. This just comes across as them somehow being More Deserving of a redemption arc than Lotor, which is honestly just bullshit.
Zarkon & Honerva apparently weren’t corrupted anymore when they got redeemed, so that.. makes everything they did over 10,000 years okay I guess? Since it technically wasn’t them? But like, they still did that. They got corrupted by the bad quintessence by their own direct actions, and then proceeded to commit genocide, enslave and conquer thousands of planets and people, and abuse their son. None of that has changed. I never thought that they’d get redeemed mainly because I didn’t think there would be any way it would be written well & that it wouldn’t have been able to be fit into the story’s plot well.
While Corrupted!Bad Guy Zarkon told Shiro that he was Too Weak and Unworthy to be the Paladin for the Black Lion, Good Guy Zarkon told Keith that he was a good leader & a good Black Paladin because of his Galra Lineage. Like.. uh, what? RACISM MUCH? I guess Keith didn’t say anything. What happened to him being the #1 Black Paladin!Shiro stan? Oh wait, he stopped back in like S3 or something.
This makes me think of that one Nightmare post I read months ago. It was basically “What if Shiro is not the Black Paladin because the Black Lion is racist against non-Galra?” [It cited that when Shiro was the Black Paladin, he had a Galra arm. & now that he doesn’t have a Galra arm, he is no longer the Black Paladin.] I thought it was utterly ridiculous and that it was the stupidest thing ever. But I guess being Galra is indeed what makes you great for the Black Lion after all. Oof. Wtf.
Apparently Shiro also barely had a meaningful interaction with... pretty much anyone, least of all Keith, who’s supposed to be like his little brother. This has been happening for a while even before s8. (I honestly hate that Shiro was reduced to just being mere plot device for Keith’s development and arcs. Don’t think I’ve forgotten how JDS & LM called him boring, wanted to kill him off permanently, but then was forced to bring him back, and how they pretty much got around that loophole by killing him off at least twice and finally pushing him into the background. Oh and they didn’t even give him a family either lol. WTF.)
Lance says his “I’m good at winning prizes” line at Allura. Wtf. It seems that the context is Allura asking Lance to get something for her, but I saw the screenshot and.. G R O S S. They KNEW what they were fucking doing, especially with THAT expression. *shudders* I like Lance, I really do. But I hate him for Allura. He became smitten with Allura the minute he saw him, and pretty much called dibs on her. Spent a majority of his time hitting on her while she reacted in distaste & discomfort, continually rejecting him or brushing him off. Showed jealousy and entitlement when Allura exhibited interest in other guys or when other guys seemed interested in Allura. [Lance, you do not own Allura. You’re not even with her, she’s not interested in you. BACK. OFF.] Even made fun of Allura’s Altean culture and heritage, and never once showed any signs of interest in learning about it. And I’m not even going to go over all the ways how they are not compatible with each other at all. A//urance literally plays into the trope that if the Nice Guy is persistent enough, he will get the Girl. The Girl is his Prize. Again, they KNEW what they were doing with that line. So that coupled with the imagery from S3-ish of Lance’s fantasy-- in which he is revered and praised by all, standing at the very top holding a big flag saying “Winner” with a dream starry-eyed Allura at his feet. Ugh, BARF.
A//urance happens. Apparently neither of them are very happy??? [and honestly it just confuses me why it even happened because there is such a stark difference between how Lotura & A//urance was written-- but I guess Lotura was just a stepping stone for the less well-written & clearly-forced ship after all? Tf.]
There’s some stuff about Hagerva breaking into alternate realities because she can’t cope with the fact that her son is dead, so she’s trying to enter her alternate families’s lives.
There’s some stuff about Altea & Daizabaal being brought back. I.. don’t know. I’ve seen some people say that if those could be brought back, then why couldn’t Lotor & the others be brought back too?
Allura kisses Lance twice. Tells him that she’ll always love him. (lmaoooo what? okay sure) She transfers her Altean Marks onto Lance. (What. the. HECK?! THAT MAKES NO SENSE.) She then.... sacrifices herself? To save her Reality? To save all of existence? From what I’m hearing from other people, there was no real good reason for her to sacrifice herself. She then steps into the afterlife with her father, her mother, Zarkon, Honerva, and Lotor. There’s a legit outline of her [who is clearly defined], with Lotor at her back [who is not as defined], in the stars.
I cannot believe they killed off their main female protagonist & a princess. You don’t just.. do that in children’s media. I don’t know of any children’s media in which a princess dies. I thought she was untouchable. Not to mention there was absolutely no pay off for Allura at all aside from her being dead and in the afterlife reuniting with her family. She’s had to sacrifice everything every season-- her planet & her family was destroyed, then she lost her castle, her rank, her crown, her clothes, her people. I thought there was going to be an ultimate pay off for her in end, but no she even had to lose her own life. Really?! This doesn’t speak of Hope to me.
Lance spends the rest of his life with Allura’s Altean marks tattooed on his face. He’s a farmer, growing Altean flowers (???) and it’s implied that he never gets over her. I... just can’t. The bitter irony. In giving Lance what he wanted, the writers took everything from him. Much of his character, aside from growing in his role as a Paladin, bonding with others, and dreaming of being a pilot, also revolved around Getting Allura. He was never allowed to grow out of that. Now they’ve effectively erased his identity-- he no longer has an identity separate from Allura. That isn’t.... what his arc should’ve been. Also does the marks mean he’s Altean now or what?? You can’t just change races like that. Tf. If he has an Altean lifespan now, that means that he’s going to watch everyone he loves die. His infatuation for Allura has become his curse. And while it’s been implied that he’s worked on a farm before [look, it’s canon that he knows how to milk a cow. that’s enough of an implication.], that was never his dream. He wanted to be a pilot.. and now he’s just a farmer forever pining over Allura and growing flowers in her memory, or something. They destroyed Lance’s character.
Apparently Allura didn’t just transfer her Altean Marks to Lance, but also gave him Leadership over the Alteans. WHAT. THE. FUCK? So Lance didn’t just Get Allura & then is cursed by Allura’s selfish act, but he also gets Allura’s ROLE. They seriously had Allura sacrifice HER own leadership & give it to a boy who has NEVER once shown interest in HER culture, & has even mocked it more than once. THE. AUDACITY.
“Lance will get what he needs, not what he wants.” That implies that he was Not going to end up with Allura, seeing as she is what he clearly wants. So.. what is it then? Unless him being a lonely pining farmer for all of eternity was what he needed? Either they straight up lied or like I said before, something happened behind the scenes.
Keith apparently is leading Lotor’s Generals & the Galra now or something..?? WHAT? Why TF would the Galra listen to him? And I guess he gave a speech that was essentially Lotor’s speech in S5. EXCUSE. ME.?! Also apparently Keith now has magical powers and is a diplomat dedicated to spreading good will in the universe..?? So basically he was given Shiro’s position, and then Lotor & Allura’s ROLES. Ha ha ha.
There was a line from a crack-foreshadowing episode in s7, in which Lance says Keith “is the future”-- and a lot of people came up with the Emperor!Keith theory. I quickly concluded that it was total bullshit because it made ZERO sense within canon. It still makes no sense, but then again not much makes sense in s8 apparently.
Apparently Nothing is Really Solved. The Galra still need Quintessence to survive. The Quintessence Rift is closed, so there’s nowhere for them to get their quintessence. Lotor, the only person who had the solution, wanted peace, & intended on leading an Alliance between the Paladins & the Galra, is dead. Allura, who could’ve allied with Lotor to help the cause of leading the universe & Galra into an new era of peace, is dead. But Apparently there’s Peace now. Okie dokie.
I... don’t really know anything about Katie & Hunk. What happened to them?
I can’t think of anything else right now. All I can say is that s8 sounds vile.

So I watched S8 of Voltron...
EDIT: Alright so APPARENTLY Shiro married Curtis, a character who's been around since S7 but he was really a background character. Even in S8 he was still just like... a crew member taking orders. Apparently his highlighted moments are when he's cheering for Shiro during the arm wrestling and noticing that the guys were in trouble when Zethrid attacked but i mean???
And Im so fucking hurt man. Why did Allura have to die? She was the best character, or hell, one of the best because i liked a LOT of characters in that show. And she finally her new family, finally found someone to love and then there comes fucking bitter ass crusty old Honerva to ruin EVERYTHING.
because SHE didn't listen when everyone said to stop fucking around with the entity, because SHE ruined her OWN LIFE and made her son hate her.
But no, Allura had to pay the price for that, Allura and Lance and everyone who cared about and loved Allura. I mean granted, she got to be with her family again but... ahh I guess i'm just angry and sad. It didn't have to be like this. It really didn't.
But I guess that's what this show is all about in the end; making hard decisions and living with the consequences of them. Everyone in this show has had to made difficult choices, to some degree, at some point.
And I've seen some complaints about Shiro as well. About how he married some rando we never met and apparently spent the rest of his days on earth/altea. Now, granted, I get the thing about random guy, I didn't quite care for that. I mean I don't think we saw him ANYWHERE not even a name. But I don't agree with the idea that Allura could have brought Adam back. That wasn't a good idea either, that would've jsut been dramatic and painful because Shiro and Adam broke up before all the Glara shit even happened. So him being there would not have been positive.
But what i don't agree with is the idea that a) Shiro should've still been out spreading peace throughout space or whatever. Listen.. Shiro was like.. what.. kick 30 years old or something? He's been abducted by aliens, forced to be fight for his life, has PTSD, 'Died' although he continued to exist int he black lion, Was mind controlled by Honerva to fight Keith, died AGAIN, Found our his ex was dead (and remember the last time he saw him they had an argument), Had his new alien arm go berserk for a bit, had to fight a intergalactic WAR, and to top it off he also lost Allura. So can you REALLY blame the guy for wanting to just have a normal ass life for a little bit? and b) I don't think that Shiro had to be the only queer rep. Sure, he was the main one but uhh what about Ezor and Zethrid? Those were the most lesbian aliens I've ever fucking seen. Sure, they didn't get a ton of screen time but you definitely knew they were a thing. And I actually felt for Zethrid that she was mourning the loss of Ezor and turning to the only thing she knew; anger. I wish they'd gotten some more screen time because I was really interested in their relationship.
But also, this show wasn't about relationships. Everyone's relationship got glossed over, even Allura and Lance. They just got a liiiiitttle more screen time because both of them were MCs. Though they did get more kisses in. And I mean, this was the last season if they would've tried to shoe horn in everyone's relationship then the ending would've been rushed and shitty. The episode I think they wasted though was the documentary one. and some of the Clear Day one. Those could've been used a bit more I feel. Maybe that's where they could've had more of Ezor and Zethrid, or mentioned Shiro's partner. Although, I suppose the did Shiro that way to show that he moved on after the war, dated people and all that, like a normal person. We don't have to be in his business all the time.
So yeah, those are my thoughts on Voltron. Overall, I think this final season was really good. they still didn't have to fucking kill allura though fucking crusty ass witch ruining everything ugh
