Nobody necessarily expected Kimi Antonelli to still be in school. Rarely did you see a Formula One driver who was still learning about the basics, such as math and language, while also simultaneously passing world champions in their sport and making a living for themselves. After this information came out, there was obviously⌠Quite a few jokes.
Kimi had made a whole ordeal of asking George to tutor him in math, and while viewers (and George himself) passed it off as a joke, the truth was Kimi really was struggling in the subject. It didnât have much substance to him, and lacked sense. Unlike racing, which came so naturally to the rookie.
His teachers were emailing him nonstop, scolding the racer on how unbalanced his school life and work life were. Despite being a kid who raced cars for a living, going at unimaginable speeds, he still walked away with his tail tucked between his legs after being harshly lectured by his elders. After being reprimanded for about the thirtieth time, Kimi was instructed to find himself a tutor.
Online class was easy. Everyone was given their own workload to finish at their own pace, with varying deadlines depending on level of learning. Y/N excelled in this department, finishing most of her work far before the others. She was a straight A student, sitting at the top of her class.
On rare occasions, their class would host little lessons over Zoom. It always reminded her of the quarantine days, but it was nice to see familiar faces nonetheless. Even if most of the time she was sat there quietly, watching everyone else get caught up with the work.
One evening, a surprise guest had popped up. Andrea Kimi Antonelli, whom had never had enough time to make an appearance. Everyone knew of himâ Y/N would be stupid if she didnât. Of course, the reaction to his involvement was rather distracting to the sake of the course, but it was entertaining nonetheless.
He seemed lost the entire time, barely able to answer basic questions about logarithm and pythagorean theoremâ Things they had actually learned during the prior years. Being an F1 driver must really be time consuming. Once the call was over, she did what a typical, compassionate person would doâŚ

At first, their meetings were strictly professional. Sheâd teach him the basics, and then heâd be on his way. But by the fourth night of tutoring, the air had become more friendly. He brought in leftover food from the after party, which they shared while watching the newest episode of whatever reality TV show was airing on the hotel TV.

1. Origin of username?
Around the time I came up with my username "mayykit," I was getting progressively less comfortable with using my real name on the internet. My previous username was a pun off of my real name, and in wanting to keep the spirit of humor, while using a new nickname I felt comfortable with online (Kit), a friend and I brainstormed for about an hour on what combination of letters could make a good pun with the sound "kit" either in the beginning or the end. At some point, I think I said something in frustration along the lines of - "I just have no idea what to make it..." and my friend went dead quiet before they started laughing. Thus, MayyKit was born.

5. Weirdest habit/trait?
For some reason, I get a weird, unbalanced feeling if I take the last step of a staircase with my left foot, so often I'll either count the steps before I go up/down so I can end on the right foot, or I'll take the last two steps together so that my right foot can be the one to finish the stairs. It's something I've done since I was a kid.
6. Hobbies?
I've got a ton of 'em. I've been ice skating for quite a while, so I spend a good amount of time on that; I also play a lot of piano and flute, and I'll occasionally revisit violin (I used to play in grades 5-10). I also like to read (mostly the same few books I've been reading for years but I do like exploring new fanfics), I do a good deal of digital art or traditional drawing in my free time, and I like listening to music as much as I enjoy playing it. I used to creatively write a lot, but I've been simmering in writers' block from the sheer amount of writing I have to do for my classes. I've gotten quite into cooking recently (especially soups), and I think I'm also going to get back into language learning once my workload eases up.

Student. University. Political science and business degrees. Graduating in ten or so weeks... Aiming for law... (Although I also do some volunteer work in education, ice skating, and arts/entertainment.)
8. If you could have any job?
In an ideal world, I'd love to get into acting. It's the idea of getting to live and experience and explore so many different lives and states of being... and getting paid for it?? Yes please.
9. Something you're good at?
Analyzing things from lots of perspectives. I'm a big analyzer, and I do a lot of it in my work across the board. I also do it a lot for fun. Keeps my brain moving and happy :)

Two-faced behavior. Fake.

Umm... uhh... good question. Better question might be what I don't forget... Hmm... I forget my toothbrush almost every time I travel, if that counts...
12. Your love language?
Sharing food #1. But also, just being interested in each others' interests even if there's no personal connection necessarily. Two individuals with separate lives who just deeply want to share their happiness with one another. Mwah.
13. Favorite movies and TV shows?
There's gonna be some range here. Basically anything Ghibli, A Silent Voice, Big Hero 6, The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, South Park, The Devil Judge, Law School, True Beauty, Weak Hero Class 1 (season 2 is almost out!!!), Twinkling Watermelon, Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, Haikyuu, and Revenge Note 2.
14. Favorite food?
My go-to answer lately has been malatang (spicy hot pot), but there's this dish my mom makes at home with beef, tomato, and occasionally egg that is - in my opinion - completely unparalleled in yummyness. I could have that with rice or noodles genuinely any day every day, probably.
15. Favorite animal?
I like cats very much. But also ermines are SO adorable and I'm so pleased to exist in the same universe as them. I would genuinely sob out of joy if I ever got to hold one.
16. What was I like as a child?
Controlled chaos in the form of a goody two shoes. I loved reading and creative writing (and got labeled as "the perfect student" for it) because I could be as unhinged as I wanted, as long as it was on paper and not towards other people.
17. Favorite subject in school?
K-5, I loved math; 6th through middle school, I was a huge fan of history and English; high school, chemistry and physics had my soul. Currently, as a uni student, the ball's pretty split between political science (my major!) and education studies.
18. Least favorite subject?
Biology and computer science. I'm pretty good at bio, I just don't like how memorization-based a lot of it is. But then, compsci is the one subject that my brain simply refuses to process.
19. Best trait?
Thoughtfulness. I tend to approach my tasks and the people around me with a lot of intentionality and consideration, and I'd like to think it's a pretty good trait of mine. It combines my other good traits - analysis with empathy, deep care with rational pathways for it - and does a lot of good in my life.
20. Worst trait?
I can be mentally dramatic, but I'll almost never say it out loud. The dramatism makes me quick to judge, and rather harshly - others and myself alike - but staying mostly silent on those thoughts tends to leave people around me very much in the dark on where I stand. It's also just not good for me since I spiral easily when I do that.
21. If you could change any detail of your life, what would it be?
I just need my wi-fi to stay alive. And consistent.
22. If you could travel in time, who would you want to meet?
My parents when they were young, probably. I wish I knew what they were actually like as people before they became parents.

Points on 7b february update:
- loved the outfits.
- Love flirting with Kettering. Still trying to finish James sex scene then I'll almost be caught up.
- Tristan was perfect and I loved his grand plan to use orgasms to keep Jaynie away from sexual predators.
- I'm enjoying the trafficking plot line. Sexual abuse is the basis of capitalism but people aren't ready to hear that.
- I think we will get the chance to turn Jaynie into an addict based on the attention drawn to her college stress and the option to use excessive drugs and alcohol
- admittedly something about this update felt unbalanced. Some parts felt overly slow while others seemed to go too fast. Plus, the only reason we couldn't go to the diner with lilian and grant was workload - if we can see chloe, i dont see a wastonian reason we cant see the others. But again, workload. I would respect Langley if she needed a break.
- unlike what others (read: 1 or 2 really loud people) have said, I don't think the poly routes add much time-wise. The sex scenes with Tristan, Chloe and James seem to have added the most.
- I love the fact we can finally ditch carter if he's not getting better. It's cruel to both Jaynie and Carter for her to keep giving him help, then backing off when she inevitably burns out. This cycle is precisely why he's supposed to cut tied with her. Codependency.

that's interesting, I only thought of it as her simply experimenting like every college student. also the stress depends on your route I believe; my MC Izara felt less confident about taking the test than my MC Dan-Bi, who kept talking about how confident she felt and how she was gonna reward herself with a snack. -> in route 1, she was talking about how she was gonna do better next semester, and that the first semester was really overwhelming. in route 2, she was talking about how she had a rough start but everything is slowly getting better again. anyway, I don't think she's gonna become an addict? that would be an INSANE twist from Langley, and I wouldn't like it personally

hard agree !! for example the transition from meeting Logan to the party felt very rushed. this was definitely an unbalanced update as you said; some parts were either too much (not in a bad sense, just 'fuller' I guess?) while others just went quickly. also just missing scenes? like, does Jaynie not know about Anne coming if she doesn't romance James? isn't that weird lowkey? like not even a small 'lol guess whose fiance is coming' from one of the brothers? I feel like James' path definitely had the better episodes ending cause you get her 1) running away in tears and 2) seeing Anne. the rest felt hollower? haven't played Grant and Lillian's routes yet, but Grant is going to play a bigger role in season 3 (and Chloe I believe is going to be one of the most important people) and we get the trip to Paris with Lillian so I do believe that the screentime will be balanced again next update ! I think it's hard to make sure James, Tristan, Chloe, Lillian and Grant ALL have fair equal screentime in one update, but I do agree that we should've gotten more scenes with G and L. for example, they could've come over while studying or stuff like that I wonder if Lillian got a scene like this if you share a similar class? (I believe this was geology). if she did, she could've walked with Jaynie to her faculty leader meeting, brought her snacks while she waited etc...

first of all, it's sooo necessary to take time with the poly route. a well-written relationship, especially one as nuanced as a poly dynamic (especially between a queer, queer, lesbian dynamic), requires time and attention to flourish. if Langley doesn't dedicate enough time to these routes, she's misrepresenting polyamory and doing a disservice to the relationships she's trying to portray. but if she does give them the necessary time and depth, then suddenly she's "wasting" time? itâs a no-win situation. no matter what she does, people will find a way to criticize her. also, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the only poly routes that were developed this update Chloe + Tristan (highly necessary considering the plot) and Grant and Tristan at the veryyy end of episode 8? and C+T also only had the scene in the car. people are crying as if they had a kiss scene in ep 6, a sex scene and dance scene in ep 7, and got married in ep 8 like ???? I don't get it at all
re: Carter and Codependency
I still think there's gonna be a plot twist, like, Carter left because X and Y happened, and he needed to protect Jaynie from (whatever the drug version of loan sharks is) (I guess just plain old drug dealers?). I'm REALLY hoping it's that, and not that he relapsed. I'm holding out hope that he can get better, maybe just because I can relate to this dynamic and it didn't work out irl for me. I'm rooting for Carter so badlyđ addiction is complicated, and expecting a perfect, linear recovery isnât realistic. cutting ties might just be necessary cause it's harming Jaynie (if he didn't leave to protect her or sth like that I mean), but that doesn't mean Carter is beyond helpâit just means he's not ready yet. he's literally just a teenager, I feel like people keep forgetting this. a teenager that compared the feelings drugs gave him to the faith his grandma has in God. people are acting like he should be written off just because he isnât magically "getting better" on their timeline. heâs not some evil, irredeemable person deliberately trying to hurt others. heâs a kid who got caught up in something bigger than himself, and instead of recognizing that, people are acting like heâs just a burden who deserves to be abandoned. I do agree that going No Contact with him would probably be the best for Jaynie atm, but I hate people who keep pretending like he's the worst boy to have ever existed. I really hope there is a plot twist, because if Carter left to protect Jaynie, that means heâs still choosing something beyond his addiction. even if heâs not getting better in a way people want him to, that would at least show heâs still trying, in his own way. but even if itâs not thatâeven if he just relapsedâhe still doesnât deserve to be thrown away like heâs nothing. because itâs addiction, because people donât understand, they think it means heâs choosing this. they think it means he deserves to be alone. istg Jaynie is so relatable. her whole journey as the eldest daughter hit HARD. Jaynie doesnât know who she is outside of this; outside of being the one who fixes things, who holds people together when theyâre falling apart, who drops everything to go and unscramble everyone's mess. she has spent so much time being the one who stays, the one who refuses to give up, that the idea of walking away feels like erasing herself. you donât even realize how much of yourself is built around that role until you try to imagine who youâd be without it.Â
so yeah, TLDR: Jaynie shouldnât have to destroy herself to save him. that much is true and I truly hope she finds peace, whatever it might look like. guilt-free. but Carter doesnât deserve to be hated just because he isnât healed yet.

When load balancing WebSockets in a Kubernetes (K8s) environment with Istio, there are several considerations to ensure persistent, low-latency connections. WebSockets require special handling because they are long-lived, bidirectional connections, which are different from standard HTTP request-response communication. Hereâs a guide to implementing load balancing for WebSockets using Istio.
1. Enable WebSocket Support in Istio

Session affinity is typically achieved by setting the sessionAffinity field to ClientIP at the Kubernetes service level.
In Istio, you might also control affinity using headers. For example, Istio can route traffic based on headers by configuring a VirtualService to ensure connections stay on the same backend.
3. Load Balancing Strategy
Since WebSocket connections are long-lived, round-robin or random load balancing strategies can lead to unbalanced workloads across pods. To address this, you may consider using least connection or consistent hashing algorithms to ensure that existing connections are efficiently distributed.
Load Balancer Configuration in Istio.
Istio allows you to specify different load balancing strategies in the DestinationRule for your services. For WebSockets, the LEAST_CONN strategy may be more appropriate.
Alternatively, you could use consistent hashing for a more sticky routing based on connection properties like the user session ID.
This configuration ensures that connections with the same session ID go to the same pod.
4. Scaling Considerations
WebSocket applications can handle a large number of concurrent connections, so youâll need to ensure that your Kubernetes cluster can scale appropriately.
Horizontal Pod Autoscaler (HPA): Use an HPA to automatically scale your pods based on metrics like CPU, memory, or custom metrics such as open WebSocket connections.
Istio Autoscaler: You may also scale Istio itself to handle the increased load on the control plane as WebSocket connections increase.
5. Connection Timeouts and Keep-Alive
Ensure that both your WebSocket clients and the Istio proxy (Envoy) are configured for long-lived connections. Some settings that need attention:
Timeouts: In VirtualService, make sure there are no aggressive timeout settings that would prematurely close WebSocket connections.
Keep-Alive Settings: You can also adjust the keep-alive settings at the Envoy level if necessary. Envoy, the proxy used by Istio, supports long-lived WebSocket connections out-of-the-box, but custom keep-alive policies can be configured.
6. Ingress Gateway Configuration
If you're using an Istio Ingress Gateway, ensure that it is configured to handle WebSocket traffic. The gateway should allow for WebSocket connections on the relevant port.
This configuration ensures that the Ingress Gateway can handle WebSocket upgrades and correctly route them to the backend service.

A huge, HUGE part of why i cannot get my household organized and clean is that it's an unbalanced system. There's me cleaning, but there's kidteen and me making a mess.
And she's currently not even doing the one thing she's assigned to: clearing the washing machine. Which cloggs up the entire workload, because if the dishwasher's still loaded with clean dishes, i can't put away the dirty dishes, which means i cannot clean the countertop, which means i cannot cook.
And i just don't get the hang of it. Either i put her under too much pressure by giving her three tasks or i do it all myself. I've tried giving her more chores. I tried losing assigned chores and having her understand doing things that are necessary (teenage!brain has not picked up that concept yet. in no area of life.). I tried handing over the kitchen to her completely (<- me not doing anything but only telling her to do it).
And it works for a week, then dissolves.
It's been like this for a decade.
I can't wait to live on my own.

Thoughts and updates for final day of the project.
The entire semester has been extremely taxing. Unrelated to workload having to manage my work in relation to the project and also managing my own health as it's been declining has been irksome to say the least.
I'm glad I chose the topic I did for my project, it feels like a sort of cosmic irony in a sense as the months I begin to work on this project my physical health started to decline, which made my ability to move alot worse.
I've definitely been more aware of how unbalanced/uneven and unsafe pathways can be, how heavy doors are to push or pull, doors being too small for me to go through easily, how the only art stores near the university are in no way accessible to me.
It's alot of things like that.
I'm happy with the engagement I was able to make with the two electives I was around to engage in. I found it alot more difficult to find artists I could use to reference in my work as I was working with more of a niche topic. So if i could dedicate more time to that in future I would. I enjoyed print and painting.
My main goal with this project is to offer insight into what my day to day life is like.
Accessible space are so important to people. The bare minimum is not enough. Complacency in following bare minimum code standards is ridiculous, it's tiring and angering not just for me, but anyone who's disabled. If the disability is visible or invisible, people should not have to beg for accommodation that should be given as a standard.
