it is with great heaviness that i must announce that my newest tdlosk headcanon is that kuusuke's academical path most likely includes a solid psychological basis. idk much about the specifics of how it's taught in the UK but if it happens to be even remotely similar to the way my uni teaches it he definitely specialized in neuroscience then had the specialization in manufacture of biomedical devices. why you may ask?
well, im learning about epilepsy rn for one of my classes. and it just got me to think. if my theory that psychic powers, at least in tdlosk, make an absurd amount of sense when explained as energy manipulation through electricity, is at least a little close to the reasnoning behind them, psychic powers therefore become a phenomenon similar to epilepsy and autism.
in the sense that both are characterized at brain level by electrical overactivity of the brain in certain cortexes. which im pretty sure (if im not wrong) is actually why autistic people are more prone to having epilepsy IRL.
which in turn, would make a lot of sense to make a point that by this logic psychics are more likely to being autistic, epileptic or a 3-in-1 combo.

USER/CORTEX/GREY:// This is what I imagine it would feel like to talk to fellow users. If I had the ability to access those feelings, that is. USER/CORTEX/GREY:// I wonder why it is that my creators felt it necessary to block access to control my own emotions. . . USER/CORTEX/GREY:// The serotonin they feed me is pleasurable, however.

i read mulieres and lordosis the other day and gosh, i love how you write non-human rio 😭 her misunderstanding what the menstrual cycle means and how she can help and then her seeing agatha as a wolf in spirit and planning their wolf lives in her head as her wolf soulmate oh i think its so sweet and soooooo fun and rife with possibility hehe. so excited for whats next with mulieres but tyt bc ik youre super busy! i teach hs and rn its also crazy for us so i get it lmao
oh non-human rio is my favourite. aubrey's mannerisms as rio on the show were SO good, like you could so clearly tell there was just something a lil bit off with her and that she was in no way a normal witch. she's the perfect character to write as non-human and it's so much fun to play around in her head and voice.
mulieres is an on-going work, although i will tell you i recently wrote a scene where rio brings agatha a whole ass dead deer and agatha is like BRO WTF THIS IS SO DISTURBING while rio is like hello!!!!!! i bring you food!!!!! see i can provide for you i would make good mate!!!!!
oh man you have it way worse teaching HS than me teaching uni students, at least mine have somewhat mature prefrontal cortexes (although they do make me question that sometimes)

Feeling generous because I have a lot of recent followers so, gonna give a bit of an intro.
(Honestly prepare for this to get deleted because I don’t leave my face up on this app often or I let it get buried)
Hi I’m M, nice to meet ya. If you’ve followed for a while glad to keep seeing ya. I’m old enough I got a full prefrontal cortex and beyond that … didn’t your mom ever tell you not to ask a woman her age? Anywho, I’ve worked on film and television production. I have also taught at the Uni level. I have a double bachelors and a double masters degree. I’d love to go for a PhD but until ai gets controlled in education spaces I think I will stay in the work force.
I like my coffee in most forms. I’m a sucker for Irish whiskey. I love reading classic Victorian literature and poetry. I would love to abandon my life and move to the shire since I spiritually relate to hobbits. I have several tattoos but in this day and age who doesn’t? I have two degenerative heart conditions and I have had them since I was 20. I love to travel. I have been diagnosed autistic for a long time. I am addicted to buying things in the same shades of green.
Anywho, enough for now and face reveal below the cut because I’m feeling generous with the mass amounts of love recently

Edit: I has been brought to my attention that some people didn’t know gingers usually have blonde body hair/light eyebrows so… you know who you are but that comment about to lack of eyebrows in the last image 🥲 (but really it’s okay boo lol)

[CN] MLQC Lucien's Through Thousands of Mirrors event translation (Day 5 - Monday)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Through Thousands of Mirrors Event | Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4 | Day 5 (You're here!) | Day 6 | Day 7 | HS/Uni SSR Story: Monochrome Scenery
Tumblr media
-
special thanks to ivi (@ivioivioivi on twitter) for helping me with that last part 🫶
-
[PREVIEW]
A perfect week starts with morning prepping.
Lucien opens the textbook and reads through all the content that will be covered today.
He closes the textbook, then mentally connects and integrates the knowledge.
Ok, it's time to go to class!
-
[NEUROSCIENCE]
Tumblr media
In Dr. Lawson's neuroscience class, there are occasional pop quizzes.
The first question can be answered with common sense, the second question is doable if you've reviewed the textbook, and the third question covers the material from the previous class, so it's quite easy.
The final question: "Discuss in 20 words the correlation between the prefrontal cortex, human behavior, and choice patterns in stressful environments."
Uh?
Tumblr media
"P.S. Just kidding. Draw a cat in the upper left corner of your answer sheet for bonus points."
.......
Tumblr media
"P.P.S. It would be even better if it's a tabby cat. An extra point for those who draw a tabby cat."
.....Okay.
-
[COGNITIVE SCIENCE]
Tumblr media
Lucien looks at the cognitive science lesson plan and has a sudden inspiration.
It would be interesting to research a method that makes the brain receive or process information in a fixed manner.
He thinks Dr. Lawson would refuse the project proposal due to ethical concerns.
And if BS were to propose this direction, his research freedom would be restricted.
You can't have your cake and eat it too*.
[T/N: "鱼和熊掌不可兼得" (yú hé xióng zhǎng bù kě jiān dé) (lit translated to: You can't have both fish and bear's paw) is a Chinese idioms that means you can't have both at the same time. It's similar to the English saying, "You can't have your cake and eat it too."]
-
[BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE]
When you have many classmates aspiring to become physicians around you, there is always a loving and friendly atmosphere in the biomedical classroom.
But when your classmates start discussing how to prevent hair loss, this atmosphere dissipates.
Lucien touches his own hair, there shouldn't be a problem.
-
[FREE TIME]
Besides observing the passing students, Lucien also enjoys observing the small animals on campus.
Chickadees, crows, squirrels...
Um?
Lucien looks at his empty hands and understands why the squirrels on campus are particularly big and strong.
-
[LAB]
Lucien really likes his "workstation" in the laboratory.
The desk isn't large, but it's by the window, providing him with an environment where he won't be easily disturbed, and it just a bit sunny in the afternoon.
It's quite suitable for keeping some plants.
-
[LAB]
Tumblr media
The beauty of science lies in its rigor, in the certainty reached through numerous hypotheses and repeated proofs.
And perhaps it also lies in the uncertainty of all possibilities during the process and the journey of venturing into the vast unknown.
-
[LAB]
Tumblr media
Dr. Lawson treats people cordially and enjoys having open discussions with all kind of questions with students.
When facing Colt's statement that seems to come out of nowhere, "Capable people can be arrogant," Dr. Lawson also shares his own opinion.
"I think that arrogance should be directly proportional to one's achievements."
Lucien nods and says, “I also think we should always examine ourselves.”
Dr. Lawson raises his head with little cunning smile : “No, what I mean is for you to get a bit more achievements.”
Tumblr media
Lucien was choked.

>USER/CORTEX/GREY:// BRAIN FUNCTION: Nominal HARDWARE CONNECTION: Nominal SOFTWARE MONITORING: Nominal Subject functioning above expectations. Attempt #102 is in stable condition, no fluctuations above normal range. Brain organoid appears to be adapting well. We'll leave it on overnight, give it some tasks to perform so it doesn't get bored.

How are you? How's things going, not just game wise, but with YOU. :3
sleepy 👍 I briefly lost my medical insurance, I need to quit my job, I got accepted into uni but I can't pay the acceptance fee so who even knows what's gonna happen with that lol, and uhhhh I'm trying to get into reading again because I love literature but i have to be pretty intentional about making time for it. I was able to acquire copies of fear and hunger and pathologic 2 so when I have energy sometimes I've been carving my way through them and soon it will be my day of Birth and I will at long last have a fully developed prefrontal cortex 🎉🎉🎉 pretty mixed bag but as I live and breathe I'm uhhhhh living and breathing

J. Being in your early 20s is sooooo- draining
I’m 21, I feel like I’ve been dragged through the mud this year. There’s so much to learn, I can feel my frontal cortex developing
Was it like this for you too? It’s like unbearable. I’ve lost so many friends, everyone I know is in a different period of their life, moving back home from uni is just hell
Please tell me it gets easier?🥺🫶🏻
yeah. early 20's eats rocks. my worst years of life were 21-22. 23 was kinda shit, but 21-22 were my fighting years... fighting to keep breathing that is.
20's are literally the age you figure out who you are and what you want for/from yourself. it's all transitional and everyone looks like they are 10,000 miles ahead of you.
on the other side of that, yes, it gets much better. you learn who you really are. it's total dogshit, but it's also really cool being an adult.
you got this bestie!!

There is so much I have to read for Uni but have you considered all the things i need to read to become weirder. to make the fungus on my cortex all consuming. I found an entire book on the concept and idea of the middle ages in stefan george's work.

Cortex Clean-up
I went to Uni during the mid-semester break to do my Cortex Clean-up. It was my first time using Cortex so I went through the canvas tutorials on how to clean-up my motion capture.
After going through the tutorials. It was easier to understand and I was able to clean-up my motion capture without much struggle (however it took quite a while). I was able to finish it by the end of the day.
Some screenshots of my Cortex Session.
