Anna Jarvis Since it wasn't until Ann Reeves Jarvis' daughter, Anna, came around, Mother's Day has become a universally recognized celebration. Anna desired to establish a memorial day for mothers who had gone away and recognize women's contributions to their children after her mother died in 1905.

On May 10, 1908, a church in Grafton, West Virginia, hosted the first formal Mother's Day celebration. John Wanamaker, a Philadelphia businessperson, contributed to making this Mother's Day immense popularity thanks to his money. On this day, a huge number of people also went to a Mother's Day occasion at one of Wanamaker's retail locations at the same time. I think they had gone on for at least two years, but honestly, Francis knew Nacha was the one from the first 2 seconds he glanced at her. He was on his knees for her since 💘

He was never the type to do big extravagant things or gifts for anyone (unlike Izaack), Nacha knew this since their first anniversary was just walking out, watching a movie and having the entire day for them, simple date, and she was fine with it

But for the proposal my DUDE worked his a$$ out to get the shiniest, most pretty-looking ring, and a very unique one because if it was hit by the sun, the reflections would show the colors of Nacha's eyes

Such a pretty ring you'd get lost in if you stared for too long, just like he got lost in her eyes all the time

So there she was, sitting at a table of the restaurant where they met; (1941) she used to work there as one of the chefs, the man in charge of receiving food and supplies didn't show up, so Nacha was assigned to do that too (besides all the cooking, ugh yk). A knock on the door made her rush to open and just get done with this delivery already, or else her soup will boil up. Door opened, and a "mmm, hello-" just stop abruptly, and somehow the very visibly tired man's eyes managed to widen, focused on Nacha's. Francis was used to just have a man pick up the milk bottles into the place and be done in just a couple minutes, so this was a very... pleasant shocking surprise. She also forgot how irritated she was just seconds ago, being honest it was nice to see someone closer to her age around here. And so it all started.

(1943) After some minutes of Nacha making circles at the top of her wine glass with her hand, Francis arrived... different. He wasn't in his usual half-asleep mood, he looked very much awake, happy to see her and even a bit nervous. She had to ask what's up with him, they were just having dinner, right? He was up to something, holding himself from letting whatever the secret was slip, and just said he ordered for both and it should arrive anytime. I the meantime, trying to calm things (and himself) down, they chatted on all the wonderful things they've happened to live together, what they've learned from each other, and before they could go on with thinking about the future, a waiter stopped the music machine to turn on the radio; a familiar voice was reading this very specific, romantic poem that was read to Nacha, in one of her dates with Francis...

As she realized, she turned to Francis, who was on one knee already, and now exposing a big flower bouquet he'd hidden in his back; words coming out of his mouth were just revealing how pure his feelings for her really were. As he was done and getting to say "today, I have something very special to ask you...", same waiter came with a silver platter, she took off the lid, and an opened little box with a diamond ring was there, along with a note that said:

"My sun,

... would you marry me?"

The excitement she felt was undescribable, a frantic YES!! was all she could say through her tears and excited jumps, immediately hugging/kissing him (which was a very moving scene for anyone who was there, clapping and cheering filled the place.

The wedding, ooh! Just as beautiful as you can imagine, her dress was pure white with a long tail, golden hour sunlight framing their first husband/wife kiss perfectly 🧡💕

i keep saying how down bad caine is for his partner, and i think he would amp it up on this day! hes going to drop everything for you and make sure youre going to be drowning in gifts and affection! hes going to be following you around listening to your every whim. gives you something every hour of the day, and he might take you out to that cute little restaurant he and bubble went to in the pilot... makes you a digital meal catered to your palette. probably takes your hand and 'kisses' the back of it when he sees you arrive to the dinner date... 8/10 deducted points because he might get overbearing at some point.... not sure if thats the right word, though...

i think this comes as a shock to absolutely no one, but she makes you a card with her own hands. but i think it would be intricate. gangle seems like the type to better express her feelings through writing rather than verbalizing them... so for you, in this card, she pours herself out to you. theres multiple segments, youre going to have to hold it sideways and let it fall open, it probably hits the ground... she even make little pop-outs, of the two of you and hearts and other things... theres even some tuggy things to reveal portions and make things move... she looks so anxious giving it to you, perhaps thinking shes done too much,, but she awaits your response... yeah i dont think anything is going to top this, its deeply personal and its crafted for you and only you.. 10/10 i would frame it up honestly

Office Dynamics - Part 4: Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day at Dunder Mifflin was always a big deal. The office was adorned with red and pink decorations, and there was a palpable buzz in the air. Michael, of course, was over the moon, running around the office spreading Valentine's cheer in his own unique way.

You arrived at your desk, greeted by the familiar, warm smiles of Stanley and Phyllis.

“Morning, Y/N. Happy Valentine’s Day,” Phyllis said, offering you a heart-shaped cookie.

“Thanks, Phyllis. Happy Valentine’s Day to you too,” you replied, taking the cookie and savoring its sweetness.

Stanley looked up from his crossword puzzle, giving you a rare smile. “Hope you’ve got something fun planned.”

You smiled back, grateful for their kindness. “Just taking it one step at a time, Stanley.”

The camera caught you giving a small wave to Jim, who was engrossed in a conversation with Pam. As you settled in, your thoughts turned to your best friend. Pam and Roy had agreed not to do anything big for Valentine's Day since they were saving for their wedding, but you knew Pam secretly hoped for a little surprise. You decided to take matters into your own hands.

Jim walked over to your desk, leaning against it with his usual playful grin. “Got any special plans for today?”

You shrugged, smiling back at him. “Just seeing where the day takes me.”

The flowers arrived just before lunch. The delivery person walked straight to Pam’s desk, handing her the bouquet. Pam’s eyes widened in surprise, and she blushed as she read the note.

“Oh my gosh, Roy!” she exclaimed, looking genuinely touched. “This is so sweet!”

The office erupted in murmurs and smiles, everyone glancing at Pam with approval. Roy, who had come by to take Pam out for lunch, looked confused at first. As he approached her desk, you were standing by the printer nearby. You caught his eye and gave him a wink, hoping he’d understand.

Roy blinked, then smiled, playing along. “Yeah, babe. I thought you deserved something special.”

Even though Killer Pizza has some of the best pizza in the state, sometimes I think that people who work in pizza joints aren’t very smart. You get someone that calls you up with a weird name and orders a dozen pizzas, and you don’t comment? You just make the pizza and lose money? Well, lucky for every pizza place in town, they had a name and a credit card number for the unusual order they all got. Unlucky for Barry Kennedy, who I guess had his credit card stolen… unless he intentionally ordered over fifty lopsided beef only pizzas.

In the ever growing competition between the Blue Moon Diner and The Scoop, both stores have been holding promotional events with The Scoop offering up coffee tasting weekends and a lottery to win free coffee for a week, no limit! Congratulations to Becca Vergara, who can have as many pumpkin spice lattes (or just black coffee, if she’s boring and doesn’t know how to be festive) as she wants for the next seven days. Maybe she should start trying to stock up on that.

The new age darling of town known as Celestial Beings is currently offering one lucky person per day a gift box of talismans and charms! No one knows how they’re selecting the winner, and no one knows how long the special is going to go, but the congratulations list in the store says Jae Walsh has won four sets of anti-possession talismans. No one knows if Walsh has even been to the store. 

In the ever growing competition between the Blue Moon Diner and The Scoop, both stores have been holding promotional events with The Blue Moon Diner trying to remind you of just how long it’s been around. The Diner is claiming to be a family tradition and introducing you to its employees by printing their faces on the plates and offering discounts based on which employee’s plate you bring in - except somehow it seems only Ethan Weaver ended up with his face on a plate. Does it count as a collector’s item if there’s only one item in a set? (By the way, you get a discount on a plate of waffles for Ethan. Having a plate of Penny would have earned you twenty percent off steak.)

Through rain, sleet, dark of night, yadda yadda. We all know the post office is great at its job and a national treasure. We also know that we can’t say the same about shipping companies. Sometimes we get deliveries that are supposed to go to our neighbor’s door, but rarely do we get our neighbor’s neighbor’s packages or the entire street’s. People say it looks like the truck backed up and dumped every box  they had at Maharth Chandrasekhar's door and that the tower of boxes has the names of at least five different streets.
