No, sorry, this is annoying me too much.
"The space ships [in Iron-Blooded Orphans] never take damage from guns mounted on said space ships" is not 'Artistic License - Physics' you utter balloons. I'm sorry, did I miss the memo that says you are obliged to make space warships out of cardboard and tinfoil?
This setting makes a MASSIVE FUCKING POINT out of the fact the widely-used armour is basically god-proof. Most of these ships are designs that *literally date from the Calamity War*. No shit they're tough. Like, yes, nano-laminate armour is technobabble nonsense but including it as a plot device means OF COURSE YOU'RE NOT GOING TO SEE SEED-LIKE FLEET MASSACRES.
Also, it's not bloody true! Need I remind you want happened to the Brewer's battleship?
Apparently I do.
Oh look. It took damage after being shot at BY CARTA'S ENTIRE FLEET. And before anyone quibbles, this is several frames before Tekkadan blow it to bits to blanket the area in chaff, and after it served its purpose of shielding the Isaribi. A tactic that is itself clearly depicted as necessary for making a head-on charge at a superior force work.
It's almost like the folks making the show made a decision about how tough they were going to depict their spaceships as being and stuck to it. Up to and including a line about 'anti-ship napalm', implying that is a thing and therefore people have invented quicker means of fighting spaceships coated in the magic resisto-armour but it can only be used in close proximity. Gee whiz.
And this is why I should not look at TVtropes pages.

I know I am very much a doing this for the journey not the destination knitter because I started knitting this one jumper two years ago and I still haven't finished it to this day, not because other projects have gotten in the way (which like, they have but I have been consistently working on it throughout), but because it never looks the way I want it too. I made it once, it was too big, I frogged the whole thing except the sleeves and re-knitted it (I should mention that it's a stripped jumper with 5 different colored stripes), tried to use the old sleeves but they were too tight, frogged them, then started doing the sleeves by picking up stitches around the shoulders, I didn't like it, frogged it, then made one set of sleeves, and the way I casted off was very stiff, so I frogged the ends and cast off a different way. Also did I mention that I had weaved in my ends in a way that looked akward at the front and I had to go STRIPE BY STRIPE AND UNWEAVE MY EDGES. THE FIRST KNITTER TO DO THAT. I'm FINALLY putting the final sleeves on this thing and I have decided that If I Don't Like Them, I'm gonna just make it sleeveless. Am I doing this without a pattern. Yes, obviously. Am I making ANYTHING without a pattern EVER again? Hah. Hahaha...
