System update and all that...

I have the strong feeling that if I don't update from Windows 7 very soon, I'm getting a strong ass malware lol.

Windows 11 is known for pink soup and crashes, but I will still need to install it for uni and work.

Windows 10 is already obsolete, so I don't want to go for that because in a few years I'm going to be in the same situation again.

Linux Mint refuses to dual boot with Windows. I had to unplug its SSD.

Kubuntu does allow dual booting, but SimPE refuses to work on it for me, and I really need it.

I've seen some tech-savvy users recommend Fedora (@brandinotbroke in particular comes to my mind!) but have we got our tools (SimPE etc) to work on it? is it a good distro for Linux beginners, in your opinion?

I could just disconnect my w7 from the internet but I need it for mods and cc making. :(

Tech deities of simblr, what do you recommend for me? What is a distro that I can use well with Sims 2 and its tools, that can still dual boot with Windows?

....... I should also mention that both Mint and Kubuntu caused audio buzzing 😭 if you have tips on that I'll be eternally grateful !!!!!

All finished with my volunteer shift!!! Got a lot done today!!! I'm really glad the people there seem to really like me and are happy with me! Makes me feel more confident with what I'm doing!!! Can relax when I get home since my uni account is down for maintance so no studying for me today!!! Will be nice to have an evening where I'm not busy as hell 😭

TMBM Fun Fact Friday #4

This was meant to be a longer one, but I can't find the scrapped writing I wanted to use (thought I had in on docs, but it might be on my old computer or a usb XP)

You can also try giving some Linux distros a spin. It's always free and you can set them up to boot from a USB thumb drive, so it won't change anything unless you tell it to. It's honestly just handy having one in case windows gets borked or smthn so you still have something to boot up. Linux Mint is the classic beginner rec and Zorin OS is pretty new but making some headway for it's general usability and UI. It's what I've been using for a few months now and I rly like it. Windows is only gonna get worse from here lol

I miss posting pjd screenshots on here. The reason why I haven't for ages isn't because I lost interest it's literally because I started playing the game on original hardware and barring the diva rooms there isn't a super intuitive way to take screenshots.

Found out my laptop mouse has been draining my battery while I have said laptop off which may have caused the battery to have 1/4th wear and thus needed to be repaired. Gonna see if I can have my mouse unplugged when it's off from now on to see if that's been a factor in the battery problems such as it immediately being at 0 when I boot up to use 3D programs like MMD or Blender.
