The Lifesurger: Genetic Anomaly
**Given my track record, I'd like to state that there are no further plans for this concept.**
this concept was made because i hate how there's not a true support character in this game which i understand why thats the case. if youre in singleplayer theres no point for it. the medimarker and feedback loop passive gives a reason to want to pick up allies and heal people. maybe this game will never fit a true support archetype but as a permanent support class mf in games like OW, TF2, and LOL it scratches an itch in my brain lmao
Feedback Loop - Passive
Healing yourself(via items) or others will make your attacks stronger. Decays over time. Amount charged is proportional to healing done.
Feedback Pulse - Alternative Passive
Healing past a certain threshold creates a burst of healing around you, harming enemies and healing allies. The threshold increases with level.
Stimshot - Primary
A single shot that can be held down to do more damage. The projectile heals and pierces through allies, while dealing damage to enemies. A fully charged shot pierces enemies and heals more damage. While an uncharged shot is a projectile with gravity, the charged shot is hitscan.
DIRECTORY: MARK - Secondary
The Medimarker targets a selected enemy and attacks it. Additionally, all damage done to the target is tripled.
DIRECTORY: BLOCK - Alternative Secondary
The Medimarker targets an ally and shields them. The target is only able to take an amount of damage up to 50% of their max HP in one hit.
DIRECTORY: ESCORT - Utility
Recall the Medimarker and grab onto it to ascend upward. This skill recalls your secondary.
DIRECTORY: MOUNT - Alternative Utility
Recall the Medumarker and ride it. The drone is weighed down by you, but can be controlled for ten seconds. The drone has less gravity and is faster than your sprint speed.
Pulse Accelerator - Special
Empower yourself and surrounding allies, giving a 50% chance to critical hit chance, removing all debuffs(except void kills, cooldown debuffs like rings, etc.), and a slight healing aura to anyone within range of the skill.
THE MEDIMARKER V1.0.0 LOGBOOK ENTRY:
The Lifesurger(Patent pending) is a prototype firearm that is meant for quick healing on the battlefield. The Lifesurger(Patent pending) excels in its ability to both heal organic creatures and repair machines, meaning that cybernetic enhancements can benefit from the effects of the firearm.
The Lifesurger(Patent pending) is also able to hurt enemy combatants by disrupting cardiovascular tissue, genetic material, and electronic signals. Through the help of an accompanying MED-E to identify friendly and hostile entities, the Lifesurger(Patent pending) is slated to be one of the greatest supporting assets on the battlefield.
Side effects may include: Vomiting, nausea, soreness, sudden bruising, death, genetic scrambling of previous users, limb loss, fever symptoms.

[EXT. CAM A]
Dr. A. Kurosawa is seen standing over the corpse of an unidentified creature. Her hands are up as UESC-dispatched enforcers approach her. The Lifesurger(Patent pending) is strapped over her back.
Enforcer: IDENTIFY YOURSELF.
KUROSAWA: I AM DOCTOR KUROSAWA.
Enforcer: DOCTOR KUROSAWA. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING?
KUROSAWA: I DON'T KNOW. THERE ARE MORE INSIDE.
Enforcer: GET TO THE SHIP.
Three enforcers enter the facility. Dr. A. Kurosawa moves out of the FOV. The escorting MED-E follows her.
[Post analysis: Patient 4-B did not report to UESC authorities following this encounter. Her current location is unknown.]
Detective's Notes: I don't know how, but she somehow passed the genetic and facial recognition tests. Someone please let Captain ???? know about the background of his alleged "doctor". Although somehow I doubt he'll really care, seeing as how he's got some real screwballs on board.

Empowering Future Urban Designers: A Vision for Tomorrow
Tumblr media
As globalization accelerates, the world is experiencing rapid urban expansion. Metropolitan city centers serve as the backbone of economic growth and a sustainable future. Urban planning and architectural design play a crucial role in shaping both our current living spaces and future habitats. Therefore, on World Architecture Day, it is essential to reflect on the importance of urban design in our everyday lives and its impact on community development.
The Role of Future Urban Designers and Architects
The next generation urban designers and architects hold the key to shaping tomorrow’s landscapes. Given the complexities of real estate growth, infrastructure networks, and diverse socio-civic amenities in urban hubs, strategic urban design remains at the core. Future leaders must be equipped with analytical thinking, innovative design approaches, technological integration, and policy-driven solutions to craft livable, dynamic urban environments. This blog delves into how we can establish a framework for the future.
Leveraging Technology for Sustainable Urban Design
In today’s digital landscape, technology is revolutionizing urban development. With cutting-edge AI tools, cities are being envisioned using Blockchain, BIM modeling, drones, augmented reality, and GIS mapping. Intelligent technology is essential for addressing urban challenges, climate risks, and resource scarcity. Therefore, urban architectural planning should embrace tech-driven design ideologies, empowering young visionaries to create resilient, smart, and adaptive cities.
Sustainability as a Cornerstone of Urban Growth
The current generation is highly conscious of the pressing need for sustainability in urban planning. As environmental concerns escalate, the future of urban development depends on sustainable practices. Green building methods, energy-efficient technologies, and eco-conscious designs must become fundamental to city landscapes. The mixed-use integrated townships by the Hiranandani Communities exemplify this future-forward approach. With meticulously planned socio-civic infrastructure, precise architectural execution, and state-of-the-art engineering, these townships seamlessly blend aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.
Balancing Aesthetics with Practicality
A well-designed city is more than just a cluster of towering buildings. It must thoughtfully integrate aesthetics with functionality to create a sustainable urban ecosystem. Efficient transportation networks, abundant green spaces, essential services, and robust infrastructure contribute to a higher quality of life for residents.
Community Engagement in Urban Design
Empowering the next generation also involves fostering participatory urban planning. When communities are actively involved in the design process, cities evolve to better serve their residents. Young minds bring innovative perspectives, allowing for the creation of inclusive, forward-thinking urban spaces. By promoting collaborative planning, architects and urban designers can develop cities that are both user-centric and environmentally sustainable.
Government Backing for Urban Sustainability
A sustainable urban future requires strong government policies that support and incentivize progressive building initiatives. Developers prioritizing eco-friendly, inclusive, and functional designs should be encouraged through financial incentives and tax benefits. By implementing favorable design policies, governments can inspire developers to construct landmark structures that enrich cityscapes and promote urban tourism.
Conclusion: Building the Cities of the Future
As urban design and architecture continue to evolve, they must prioritize both societal and environmental sustainability. Architects, developers, and policymakers must collaborate to pioneer innovative solutions. By engaging young professionals and integrating emerging technologies, we can create inclusive, resilient communities that cater to present needs while shaping the future of urban living.

IPS-N Kidd
A sidegraded cousin of IPS-N’s Lancaster support frame, the Kidd was produced under a joint development contract by IPS-N’s Titan–Enceladus Field Project and Northstar Branch Robotics. The original pattern for the frame was bought off a mining commune that had rigged their support drones in a slapdash but ingenious neural mesh that both hardened them against tech intrusion and increased their operational efficiency many times over. Urban legend was that the original builder of the rig had used his drone team to bury caches of black-market Volador tech in several wandering asteroids, and out of extreme paranoia made his systems almost impossible to crack. To this day Northstar Branch Robotics tries valiantly to squash down persistent rumors that clues to the location of the caches are hidden in the Kidd’s code base. Designed to provide an aggressive, all-theater support solution to rugged field teams in hostile environments, the Kidd mounts a trio of powerful systems to ensure a broad operational envelope. The Jolly Roger semiautonomous personal orbital platform, bundled with every genuine-license Kidd platform establishes theater control in any open or near-surface environment. A squadron of bundled subalterns (along with an onboard maintenance suite) guarantees friendly support in any environment and provides a broad suite of tactical possibility. Finally, Titan–Enceladus’s SMOKESTACK heat sink pylon represents the cutting edge of IPS-N’s thermodynamic axiomatics, allowing users to offset surplus heat via the creation of a pinhole-window into an omega state of absolute zero. The Kidd is a popular chassis in Evergreen where it is employed as a subaltern command platform for civilian and engineering purposes. Its familiar bulk can also regularly be seen accompanying traders on their way to do business with the Gray Towns.

Hope, Love & V - Chapter 3: Confessions
Summary: The days leading up to V's surgery are filled with all sorts of confessions.
It had been a week since V had made her decision about the surgery, and those days which were mostly filled with going through a lot of meeting and talking with the tech-surgeons who were going to perform her operation. A lot of it involved taking measurements, getting to look through some of the designs that would potentially be used, aftercare and the amounts of mandatory therapy – both physical and psychological - she would have to do afterwards.
Uzi visited every day, often having N with her. The goofball was so happy to see V the first time he walked through that door that he pretty much lunged at her to give her a hug and knocked her almost out of bed. At least the amusing sight of Uzi reprimanding her boyfriend made up for it.
And then …there was Lizzy. She hadn’t been acting the same since their …moment together. Despite what she had said, they never had, uh …picked up where they left off. V wouldn’t say things had been tense between them, but the whole event just didn’t get mentioned by neither of them. V figured that Lizzy was having the same problem as her and just didn’t know how to bring it up. Luckily, nothing about that seemed to deter Lizzy from visiting every day – one time even sneaking in after visiting hours had already ended.
Somewhat unexpected, it seemed that word about V’s ‘noble sacrifice’ had gotten around the Colony. Thad once came in with a ‘Get Well’ card, signed by Uzi’s classmates – some adding a lot of hearts next to their names, much to Lizzy chagrin and V’s amusement. Not only her, but N seemed to reap some of the rewards as well. Since being ‘released from the rogue AI’s influence’ meant neither of them would be hunting down Worker Drones anymore, the good people of Colony Outpost 3 seemed it only fair that they could live there. N was given his own home and he had assured V that there was a room waiting for her when she’d get better.
All in all, V felt things looking up for her.
***
One afternoon, when all her friends were visiting and sharing stories of their week, V’s doctor came in with good news. They had made the finishing touches on V’s new legs and had come to show V and give some explanations around their use. Only, one thing …
“They are …a lot more, uh …” V struggled to find the words as she looked at what’s supposed to be her new legs.
“Clunkier than expected?” N suggested.
“Yeah, that.” V tilted her head, as if a different angle would improve how they looked. The two legs were indeed a lot more robust than those of the average Worker Drone – which meant all of them.
“Yes, but you have to understand that your situation and the operation we’re going to perform are quite …experimental. A lot of things needed to be accounted for in the design.” Doctor Steen explained to her. “A wider surface for better grip, sturdier design to help you keep your balance, things like that. And even with these, you will need to use crutches as extra aid.”
V bit on the inside of her cheek. “I see…”
“I do also recommend that you use a wheelchair for the first 6 months after your surgery for most of the time, as not to overexert your legs.” He smiled sympathetically when he noticed how V’s face fell. “But keep in mind that these modifications are just the first version. An improved version is already being designed and what we will learn from you usage of these will only help make your replacements being more user-friendly.”
That bit perked V up, if only even a little. “So …how is this gonna work? You just gonna slap those puppies on me?”
“Don’t use the word ‘puppies’ like that, V.” N whispered, being quickly silenced by Uzi pinching him in the rear.
“Miss V, you must understand that these are essentially prosthetics.” Steen began. “Your surgery involves removing the damaged parts and grafting connectors in their place. These connectors will, as their name implies, connect you to the prosthetics and thus will allow you to remove them more easily.”
“Uh-huh ….” V muttered, her eyes fixated on the two heavyset legs.
“Obviously, it’s a simplified explanation, but we can get into details after you’ve recovered from the surgery.” Steen said, as he took out a clipboard. “Speaking of which, I’ve got a few dates here for you to consider. When would you-?”
“whichever is the first one!.” V quickly decided. She huffed when everyone in the room gave her a dumbfounded expression. “I am done being in this room, I need to get this over with as soon as possible, can we make that happen?”
The doctor blinked a few times, his mouth still open from being interrupted. He shook his head and smiled. “I’ll let you know when we are ready.”
V just nodded as the doctor left the room, letting out a heavy sigh as the door closed and left her alone with her friends. A hand on her shoulder made her look up.
Lizzy, who had been sitting right next to her the entire time, gave her shoulder a soft squeeze. “You okay, V?” The concern on her face spoke volumes. “You seem …out of it.”
“Y-yeah, I’m …” V smiled sheepishly. She hadn’t realized how expressive she must’ve been. It used to be easier to hide away her feelings and true motivations in order to protect those she considered close to her – even though she never admitted it to them before. Nowadays …letting out het feelings and concerns seemed …laughable natural, almost. And why not? It’s not like she has anything to hide …anymore. She sighed. “I’m just nervous, I guess?”
“Scared of the operation?”
“Pssh, what? Nah.” V scoffed, waving away the accusation but ...that soft look in Lizzy’s eyes broke through the cracks in her defensive wall. She let out a heavy breath, flopping down on her pillow. “Okay, fine. Maybe …I am …just a little?”
“Why?” Uzi piped up. “You seemed so certain of it before.”
“It’s just ….” V took a deep breath as she collected her thoughts. “I’m banking pretty much every remaining shred of hope on this operation.”
“What do you mean?” N asked as Uzi, who had been sitting comfortable on his lap, hopped off.
“What if none of this works out?” V asked, more to herself than anyone else in the room. “What if I just wake up again and nothing changed? What if I still can’t walk? What if it gets worse instead? What if-?”
Lizzy grabbed V’s hand and gave it a hard squeeze, jolting the panicking drone out of her rambling. “V, calm down. You’re going to blow a fuse!”
V muttered a ‘sorry’, before she buried her face in her hands to let out a groan. “I’m being ridiculous.”
“Hey, it’s a big operation, you’re obliged to feel scared about it.” Uzi remarked.
“Still …what if it doesn’t work out like we hope it would?” V asked.
“Would it stop you?” Lizzy asked. “Let it hold you back?”
“Our V?” N questioned with a grin. “Doesn’t seem like her.”
“Yeah, who is this whiney crybaby that has taken her place?” Uzi added with an evil grin with an added playful wink.
“You know, at first I figured that this was going somewhere wholesome, but then you had to open your noise-hole and ruin the entire thing, Doorman.” V remarked dryly, making everyone – including herself – laugh. She took a deep breath and gave Uzi a genuine smile. “But thank you.” She turned to Lizzy. “All of you. I know I’m being dramatic.”
“You’ve always been dramatic.” Lizzy stated as her expression softened. “That’s one of the things I love about you.”
“’One of the things’, huh?” V asked with a soft smile, as she reached out to grab Lizzy’s hand.
Lizzy’s fingers closed around V’s hand. “Yeah…”
A silence fell over the room, which Uzi broke after a few moments when she cleared her throat. She grabbed N’s hand and started to usher him towards the door. “Uh, N, I just remembered that we’re going to be late for that thing with the person.”
“Huh, we don’t-“ A light bulb appeared on N’s visor. “Oh! You want to-“
“Oh, for f-“ Uzi, done with being gently, just started to push her boyfriend out the door. “Bye! We’re going and leaving you two alone now!”
“Bye V!” N called out. “Bye Lizzy! We’ll visit-”
The door slammed shut, cutting of the rest of what N was going to say and leaving the two Drones alone in the room.
Lizzy eventually chuckled. “Wow, those two aren’t exactly subtle, aren’t they?”
V snorted amusedly. “N is just too much of a goof and Uzi never knew how to, so why start now, huh?”
A muffled ‘Bite me’ sounded from behind the door, making the two Drones erupt in laughter for a few moments, with Lizzy burying her face in V’s chest. After their laughter died down, Lizzy looked up from her ‘headrest’ and smiled softly at V, who started to let her fingers caress through the former’s hair.
“Hi.”
“Hey.”
They paused for a few moments. Neither of them knew how to start. This had been hanging between them for the entire week and now that they had the opportunity and time to discuss this …both of them were at a loss for words. Eventually, V felt it was time to speak up.
“I …I think it’s time we address the elephant in the room, huh?” V asked, a little nervous.
Lizzy sat up with a heavy sigh, folding her hands in her lap and twiddling her thumbs. “Yeah, about time, I’d say.”
“You wanna start?”
“Do you?”
“I’m asking you.”
“I’m asking you.”
V chuckled. “This is going nowhere.” She took a long, deep breath and smiled. “So I guess I’ll start. So …Lizzy, about what, uh, happened last week?”
“Yeah?”
“We kinda got interrupted.”
“Yeah, we did.” Lizzy bit her lower lip, seemingly contemplating whether or not to ask the following question. “Did you like it?”
V smirked teasingly. “Getting interrupted?”
Lizzy rolled her eyes with an amused chuckle. “Before that, dummy.”
Blush lines formed on V’s visor as a small smile tugged on her lips. “I did.”
Even brighter blush lines formed on Lizzy’s visor. “I did too …very much.”
“Honestly, it was hot.”
“So hot.”
“And we never really picked up where we left off.”
“No, we didn’t.”
“You still wanna?”
“Yes!” Lizzy blushed when she blurted out – petty much shouted – her reply and shrunk into herself, grinning sheepishly. “I mean …if you…”
V gulped. Why was this getting more difficult all of the sudden? “Y-yes.”
Lizzie’s expression blanked out, her blush glowing more and more brightly every second. “Okay…” She fiddled nervously with the seam of her dress. “Uh, V?”
“Yeah?”
“Before we do, uh, that, I just want to say…” Lizzy took a deep breath, as a progress bar with the words [FORMULATING CONFESSION (syntax error)] underneath it formed. It wasn’t loading very quickly. She blinked the snitching message away and tried again. “I just wanna say …I…I…”
V rolled her eyes, grabbed Lizzy by her shoulder and pulled her in, leaving only a little space between their visors. “You talk too much.”
And then she kissed Lizzy. After a surprised squeak, Lizzy’s hands landed on V’s cheeks, letting out a soft moan as she and V melted into the kiss. V ran her hands through Lizzy’s hair while Lizzy’s hands seemed not able to decide where they’d rather be holding V. Time seemed to stretch out into infinity as they kept kissing. Thank Robo-God that Drones don’t need oxygen, making these types of prolonged make-outs very fun. Eventually, they did need to pull themselves away from one another, albeit very reluctantly.
“Wowzers…” V whispered softly as she caressed Lizzy’s cheek.
Lizzy giggled. “Did you really said ‘wowzers’?”
“I did.” V admitted as she softly tickled under Lizzy’s chin. “What about it?”
“N-nothing.” Lizzy cooed as she blushed brightly. “Ab-so-lu-te-ly nothing at all.”
V chuckled, gazing deeply in Lizzy’s eyes. “I love you, Lizzy Casio.”
Lizzy’s mouth fell agape as a loading wheel appeared on her screen.
“You okay, Liz?” V asked, not able to stop herself from smirking.
Lizzy answered, but it was a series of sounds, not unlike those made by old human internet dial-up modems. V couldn’t help herself and bursted out in laughter, which brought a flustered Lizzy out of her bootloop. “S-stop laughing. I-I just wasn’t ready for that!” She reprimanded, blushing fiercely. “You can’t just throw out such a big thing all casual like.”
“You want me to take it ba-OOMPH!” The air got knocked out of her proverbial lungs when Lizzy suddenly threw herself on top of her. “Easy, or else I’m going to need more surgery.”
“Don’t you dare take that back, V. And …sorry, I guess.” Lizzy mumbled as she made herself comfortable, nuzzling her face in the nook of V’s neck. As V wrapped her arms around her girlfriend and pulled her closer, Lizzy let out a heavy sigh before quietly adding: “I love you too, V.”
V’s core started buzzing and she could feel her own circuits heating up all across her body. Okay, maybe Lizzy had a point about blurting out something big like that all willy-nilly. She was so glad that Lizzy had her face buried in her hair right now, so she couldn’t see the big, goofy grin that was forming on V’s face. “I …I am happy you are here …with me” She whispered. “I …I know I’m putting on a brave face, but …”
“I know, I know …” Lizzy quietly acknowledged. “I’m here, V. And whatever happens, I’ll still be here. Whatever the outcome, I will be by your side to help you while you go through this. I promise you that.”
“Quite the promise.” V stated as she gently pushed Lizzy away from here, so she could gaze into those neon pink eyes and caress her cheek. “You sure you are up for it?”
“Honestly, no.” Lizzy admitted truthfully. “I have never done something like this before, I’m certain that I’m gonna mess up, but …I’m willing to try and learn along the way.”
“All I’m asking for.” V chuckled as she pulled in Lizzy for another kiss. They were just about to really get into it, when:
“Hey, if you guys ae gonna keep acting all mushy and gross-“ Uzi’s voiced called out from behind the door, with N sounding like he was trying to drag her away in the background. “-can you at least toss my bag out the room? I left it under my chair!”
V and Lizzy turned to each other with a big grin, before they turned their attention to the door and shouted in unison: “Bite me!”
***
Well, V had asked that they’d schedule her for her operation as soon as possible, but she hadn’t expected it to be this fast. So, here she was, in an operating room only a few days after she and Lizzy officially got together. She nervously looked around her. The room was filled with machinery, tech-surgeons and nurses. On her right, she could see a table filled with various tools. As a former Disassembly Drone, she could appreciate good cutting equipment, but today the sight of them made her feel queasy.
“Okay, we’re ready to begin.” Doctor Steen appeared in her view, giving her a sympatric smile. “How are you feeling?”
“Nervous. A bit scared.” V figured putting on a brave façade wasn’t gonna do her much good.
“Don’t worry, Miss V. You are in capable hands.” He reassured her. “Now, relax while I insert the anaesthesia-cable.”
She felt something brush against the back of her head and she had to keep herself from flinching when she felt something being put inside her data port at the back of her neck.
“Now, count from 10, please.”
“Fine, 10, 9, 8,7-“
Wait, when and why did she stop counting?
“Guys, I think she’s waking up?”
N? What was that goofball doing in the operating room?
“Well, seeing how she scowled at hearing your voice, I think she is.”
Uzi too? Were they here to watch?
“Stop it, guys.” Now she heard Lizzy’s voice. “V, can you hear me?”
V groaned as she opened her eyes, squeezing them shut immediately as the bright light of the room was an offence to her and only made her head feel like it was going to split open. She waited a few moments more before she opened them more slowly, her interface slowly loading up as her vision became more clearer. First thing she saw was Lizzy, her expression a mixture of concern and relief.
“Hey baby, how you feelin’?” she asked,.
“Thirsty …” V’s voice was raspy. She took grateful sips of the bottle of oil that Lizzy brought to her lips. She cleared her throat, feeling relieved that the thick liquid had eased it a little. “But otherwise …tired. My head feels like they’ve hammered some extra screws on them.”
She felt her bed creak as Uzi leaned down on her legs. “I’m sad to say that they didn’t do that.” The purple-haired drone grinned. “Too bad, it could have been an improvement.”
Before she could throw back a snarky comment, N interjected – a bit too enthusiastically loud, making her wince.
“Ooh, can I tell her a-“ He began, but a look from Uzi made him shut up.
Hang on, why was his visor cracked?
“Tell about wh- Doorman, get off me.” V was getting annoyed at how Uzi was drumming her hands on her body like she was some sort of drum set..
“And what if I don’t?” Uzi asked with a grin.
V kicked Uzi’s hand off her. “I’m gonna-“
She suddenly realized what she had done. She looked at the blanket that was covering her legs, tried to move one …and lifted one up. A soft gasp escaped open mouth, as tingles ran through her entire body. She tried to lift her other leg ….and up it went. Slowly and it definitely felt like it took a lot of effort, but …
“I can move my legs again!” V exclaimed, looking around at her friends and girlfriend, as if to ask them for confirmation that she wasn’t dreaming. . “I’m not imagining it, aren’t I?”
“No, you’re not!” N happily confirmed. He rubbed his cracked visor. “In fact, I was the first one who saw it up close …when I got close because I thought I saw your legs twitch when you were sleeping. Turns out I was right when you accidentally kicked me right in the face.”
Oh, so that’s how he got his injury. V gave N a sheepishly apologetic grin. “Uh, …oops, sorry?”
N waved away her apology. “Ah, nothing that a little TLC from Uzi – and a trip to the mechanic – can fix.”
V turned her attention back to her legs, trying to move them again. Yeah, her legs felt heavy and moving them did require some effort, but she figured that was to be expected. She tried to force them up, when something jolted through her entire body. She suddenly saw the message <ALERT! Power Surge imminent> on her interface and it made her core jump as she prepared herself for another violent seizure. She did feel her body cramp up, but much to her surprise, it wasn’t as bad as before her operation. It didn’t hurt as much either, as it was more like a dull pain all over her body. Still sucked, but it was at least bearable. As her body slowly relaxed again, she noticed the concerned expressions on her friends’ faces. She must have shown more discomfort than she realized. Oh, or maybe because she had gripped the railing of her bed so much that she left an impression of her hands in it. Whoops.
“Did …did you get another seizure?” Lizzy asked carefully.
“I’m getting the doc.” Uzi stated as she turned towards the door.
“No, don’t.” V called out. “I’m fine. It wasn’t so bad this time.”
“You sure?”
“I’m fine, Lizzy.” V assured, giving her girlfriend a loving smile as she entwined their fingers together. “I’m okay.”
“Ugh, barf…” Uzi gagged, but the teasing grin on her face said otherwise. She giggled as N wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in for a hug. “Okay, okay, I’ll behave.”
“Okay, let’s see how they ended up.” V stated as she reached over to her blanket to pull them off. Suddenly, Lizzy’s hand grabbed her arm and held it in place. V looked over in confusion.
“Sorry, just …be prepared.” Lizzy warned softly. “It’s going to be a lot to take in.”
V scoffed and started to tear away the blanket. “Oh, how bad can it -oh…” A cold feeling travelled all over her body as she saw the results of the surgery. Both her legs were completely removed and were replaced by two sockets that ended in a long connector pylon. She had known what the outcome would have been, of course. She had extensive consultations with her primary doctor, but to see it in the metallic flesh. Lizzy was right, it was still shocking to see.
“V?”
V shook her head and slowly turned her head towards Lizzy. She let out a heavy breath. She suddenly felt so drained and it was like her entire body had become numb. She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. “I’m okay. It’s just… yeah, it’s a lot….” She was surprised how small her voice sounded.
Lizzy’s arms suddenly wrapped around V and hugged her tightly. V instantly repeated the action, burying her face in the nook of Lizzy’s neck. Her core was beating so hard and her head was spinning. Her breath hitched in her throat and she was trembling. Everything that had happened, everything that she had endured, the realization about the hardships that this change would bring …it all suddenly hit her all at once and she it made her feel so small, so weak.
She felt two hands rest on each of her shoulders, making her break up the embrace and look up. Uzi and N were standing by her side, giving her a sympathetic smile.
“It’s going to be okay, V.” Uzi stated softly.
“We are here for you.” N reassured.
Lizzy reached out and held V by her face, a look of loving determination in her eyes. “You are not alone in this.”
A warm feeling swelled up deep inside V’s core – for a moment, she thought she was overheating again – and she allowed herself to act extremely sappy for once and she pulled them all into an embrace – inwardly relishing in the embarrassed sounds Uzi was making as she struggled in vain to wriggle herself free from the constricting hug. She was at a loss for words.
For the first time since she had woken up from her coma, she felt like everything was finally going her way, and she’d happily take the coming struggles she certainly had to face with it.

Mods To Use In Murderdrones Playthroughs!
Tumblr media
Hello Murderdrones Fandom!! It's been awhile, sorry! Wave 2 is basically done, but I'm running into some issues hosting its files, as well as compiling a streamlined way to link all of the necessary CC as well as double-checking the linked CC will actually properly work with the exported tray files. A big hassle, really.
But I promised somebody I would give out a list of mod recommendations to spice up Murderdrones-Themed gameplay, so here I am doing just that.
(Disclaimer: I own none of the mods below. All links go to their respective creators. I also cannot promise to those reading in the future that all mods will still be functional, however I do know Sacrificial and several other creators do well to maintain their mods)
That said, let's begin:
Sacrificial's Extreme Violence Mod
Tumblr media
V disembowels a guy
If you want to put the murder into Murderdrones, look no further than Sacrificial's notorious Extreme Violence Mod
Demonstrated effectively by V here, this mod allows you to go in for the kill, with a variety of weapons a disassembly drone would possess in their natural arsenal.
My personal favorite are the animalistic murders, intended for werewolves but available for any sim via a toggle. Rip straight in with claws and teeth, and devour the flesh of your enemies.
Tumblr media
V goes for the throat, retrieving a chunk of flesh
Sacrificial's Life's Drama Mod
Tumblr media
Lizzie practices her posing for dramatic effect
This one’s for all the Lizzie players!! Or anybody keen on navigating the hostile community of teen worker drones. Life's Drama focuses precisely on that: social drama.
Tumblr media
This mod also allows you to establish a reputation amongst your peers, gaining social influence according to your actions. Character interactions are given a lot more depth as a cohesive community.
You also gain the ability of customized dialogue, allowing your sim to say exactly what's on their mind, with an attached affect on the receiver.
Tumblr media
Even in the digital world, there is no escape from J's scorn
Sacrificial's Zombie Apocolypse Mod
Is the mundane style of a life sim not enough? Do you crave danger? Look no further than the Zombie Apocalypse mod by Sacrificial, which will have your drones scavenging resources to fend off infestations of zombies. Things just got deadly on Copper 9.
Tumblr media
V reminds a human corpse that it is supposed to be dead
thepacake1's More Traits In CAS
More Traits in CAS is a mod I would recommend to anybody, but especially those seeking to play a fully-fleshed character. This mod grants 5 total trait slots per a character, and is especially good combined with the next mod...
Vicky Sims' 100 Traits in CAS
100 brand new traits in CAS, ranging from that such as scary to mysterious, to silly to shy. It is a versatile pack that, combined with the previous, grants a much more nuanced personality to the sims made with it.
Abidoang's Walk In Style
A small feature, but a nice one nonetheless. Its nice to have a character's body language match your expectations. That's what allowed V to prowl around so eerily in the screenshots below.
Tumblr media
Walk In Style provides a user-friendly menu with access to all walkstyles in the game. This includes the notable CAS styles that you can select during creation, but extends well beyond to emotion-tied walkstyles, situational walkstyles, occult walkstyles, and more. (NOTE that for occult styles to work, you will need to own the pack the occult is found in. For example: V's walkstyle above and below is from Werewolves.)
Tumblr media
That's all for now! Thanks for tuning in, and happy simming!

The Future of E-commerce: Trends, Technology, and Transformation
E-commerce has revolutionized how the world shops, and the pace of this evolution shows no sign of slowing down. In the last two decades, we've gone from slow-loading online catalogs to AI-driven, hyper-personalized shopping experiences available at the tap of a smartphone. As we look toward the future, it becomes clear that e-commerce is not merely a convenient alternative to brick-and-mortar shopping—it’s shaping into an intelligent, immersive, and integrated ecosystem. From augmented reality (AR) to drone deliveries, the coming years will redefine the very fabric of consumerism. Here's a deep dive into the future of e-commerce and the trends that are shaping it.
Tumblr media
The Future Of E-commerce In India
1. AI and Personalization: Smarter Shopping Experiences
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already embedded in e-commerce through chatbots, recommendation engines, and predictive analytics. But in the future, AI will evolve from a helpful tool to a cornerstone of every online retail experience. Imagine an e-commerce platform that not only knows what you like but also predicts what you’ll need before you even realize it.
AI will enable hyper-personalization, tailoring product suggestions, discounts, and marketing messages based on user behavior, browsing patterns, past purchases, and even emotional cues detected from facial recognition or voice tone (in the case of smart devices). This will result in increased customer satisfaction and retention, as shoppers will feel uniquely catered to.
2. Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality: Try Before You Buy
Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) are poised to bridge the gap between physical and digital shopping. AR allows customers to visualize products in their real-world environment—like placing a virtual couch in your living room using your smartphone camera. VR, on the other hand, can offer fully immersive shopping environments that mimic the in-store experience.
Retailers like IKEA, Sephora, and Warby Parker are already using AR to enhance customer confidence and reduce returns. As the technology becomes more mainstream and affordable, smaller businesses will also adopt it, making virtual try-ons and immersive product demos a norm in online shopping.
3. Voice Commerce and Conversational Shopping
With the proliferation of smart speakers like Amazon Echo and Google Nest, voice commerce is gaining traction. Voice-enabled shopping allows users to search for products, place orders, and track shipments simply by speaking to their devices.
In the near future, voice assistants will become more conversational, capable of understanding complex queries and offering context-aware suggestions. This hands-free, frictionless mode of shopping will particularly appeal to multitaskers and busy households, making it an integral part of the e-commerce landscape.
4. Sustainability and Ethical Commerce
Modern consumers, especially Gen Z and millennials, are increasingly concerned about the ethical and environmental impact of their purchases. E-commerce companies are responding by investing in sustainable practices—like biodegradable packaging, carbon-neutral shipping, and transparent sourcing.
Future e-commerce platforms will likely include filters for “eco-friendly,” “ethically sourced,” or “locally made” products. Brands that can prove their commitment to sustainability through verified practices will enjoy greater loyalty and market share.
Blockchain technology may also play a role in ethical commerce, providing transparent, tamper-proof records of a product’s supply chain and ensuring authenticity for things like organic certifications or fair trade sourcing.
5. Omnichannel Integration: Seamless Shopping Across Platforms
The future of e-commerce isn't limited to websites. It’s increasingly blending across platforms—social media, mobile apps, physical stores, and even smart TVs. This omnichannel approach ensures a unified customer experience, regardless of where or how a person shops.
For instance, a customer may discover a product on Instagram, research it on their laptop, try it in AR on a mobile app, and finally purchase it via voice assistant—all without losing their shopping cart, preferences, or data. The brands that can offer this seamless continuity will lead the way in customer satisfaction.
6. Faster, Smarter Fulfillment and Delivery
Consumer expectations for delivery speed are higher than ever. Thanks to Amazon Prime, two-day or even same-day shipping has become a baseline for convenience. In the future, we’ll see even faster fulfillment through automation, robotics, and drone deliveries.
Warehouses will be run by AI-powered robots capable of picking, packing, and shipping with incredible efficiency. Last-mile delivery, often the most expensive and time-consuming part of logistics, may be handled by autonomous vehicles or drones, especially in urban environments.
Additionally, micro-fulfillment centers located within cities will help brands store popular products closer to their customers, speeding up delivery and reducing environmental impact.
7. Cryptocurrency and New Payment Methods
The future of e-commerce will likely include a broader array of payment methods. Digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay are already mainstream, but cryptocurrency is slowly entering the retail space as well.
As blockchain technology becomes more scalable and secure, crypto payments may offer a decentralized, low-fee, and global payment alternative. Some companies are already accepting Bitcoin and Ethereum for online purchases, and this trend is expected to grow—particularly in cross-border commerce, where traditional currency exchange can be slow and costly.
Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) options will also continue to evolve, with more flexible financing models being integrated directly into the checkout process.
8. Social Commerce: Shopping Through Social Media
Social media is no longer just a place to discover products—it’s becoming the platform where purchases happen. Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest are now equipped with direct shopping features that let users buy products without ever leaving the app.
In the future, influencer-led commerce and live-stream shopping will grow. Influencers can host live product demos with real-time purchasing options, combining entertainment and shopping in a way that resonates with younger audiences.
9. Artificial Storefronts and Digital Twins
As AI continues to evolve, we may see the rise of AI-generated storefronts, tailored specifically for individual users. Instead of browsing a generic website, users may interact with a dynamically generated storefront based on their tastes, browsing history, and current interests.
Similarly, digital twins—virtual replicas of stores or products—could allow users to explore entire retail environments digitally, perhaps even through VR headsets. This would offer a near-tangible experience from the comfort of home.
10. Globalization and Localization
E-commerce allows businesses to reach global markets, but success often depends on localizing the experience. This includes language, currency, cultural relevance, and even logistics infrastructure.
In the future, smart platforms will be able to localize on-the-fly, adapting everything from product recommendations to advertising tone based on the user's region. At the same time, businesses will benefit from global infrastructure tools that make international shipping, customs compliance, and foreign exchange seamless.

Subnautica x Alien
So, this one was a phenomenal mess, safe to say as an enjoyer of both franchises I was very sad to wake up from this dream.
It started with me playing one of my favourite video games sitting on the floor of my dad’s living room in my childhood home. I was about 20, and honestly all the dog-hair tumbleweeds and slightly crusty carpet were pretty accurate. I was ranting and raving to him about how I had opened up one of my old playthroughs and that there was suddenly new content in the game I had never seen before, it was completely unexpected seeing as the game has been finished now for a long time. There was an updated UI on the PDA that was a bit confusing but pretty user friendly once you got the hang of it - and then there was this mysterious signal with unknown origins being sent to the PDA from somewhere around the edge of the crater and the dunes.
This was where it stopped being a game, as if I was sucked inside it, it became my life - as often happens with a lot of my video game dreams. I was there, it was real, I was determined to follow the signal even though all I had was my upgraded oxygen tank, flippers, some tools and my seaglide.
I got roughly above where the signal was coming from but didn’t want to go much further out because if I did I would have started migrating into the void, so I filled my tanks and my lungs, and I dived. My seamoth did a good job of getting me almost all the way down, yet what I hadn't realised after the long journey is that it was dangerously low battery. It died completely just as the source of the signal came into my view. It was a rickety old station, looking like it had been here longer than I had, which begged the question, how come I’d never found it before. I didn’t even know from looking at it if it was going to have any oxygen or power inside. However, I was not left with much choice but to chance it, with a dead seaglide, quite deep down from the surface, about halfway through my oxygen and there in the distance getting noticeably closer, a huge ghost leviathan. It was a tense scramble to find a door or hatch, there was an old moonpool but it was flooded and didn’t give me much hope. Cutting it really close, I could basically feel the vibrations of the leviathans roar when I found a hatch and heaved myself inside, seeing the familiar, often deadly glow right outside as I pulled it closed.
I am now inside the compound and things are not looking good, it is flooded and has been for quite some time, there are acid mushrooms on the floors, jelly stingers hanging from the ceiling and dirt and grime covering the walls, I couldn’t chance venturing back outside but I needed air, so as a last resort I headed deeper into the flooded station. Thank god I did because as my chest started to hurt and the pressure gauge on my tanks were scarily low - I found a bulkhead sealed off. Heaving it open with little oxygen made my arms burn, but I did it, and didn’t even have to pull myself in as the rush of water did that for me. I had to wait for the pressure in this little antechamber to even out before I could close the door again, activating some kind of bilge pump and emptying the chamber of water, replacing it with beautiful rich oxygen.
I took off my helmet and took the best deep breath I can remember, and it was then that I could hear this droning hum, more like a murmur, power maybe, in all directions, coming from the station itself. I let myself through the secondary door and thankfully it was not flooded, but now seemed to beg more questions like how the hell was there air, electricity, and most importantly, what was that signal?
I looked around and a lot of the place looked well used, but long since abandoned or forgotten about, rubbish and old tools strewn on the countertops - then I heard something, a rustling, or a creaking just beyond another turn in the tunnels. Cautiously I made my way around, and was met with a sight that made me freeze. A stasis rifle being pointed right at me, and looking beyond it, down the long grip, was a woman. She looked to be around her mid forties and was sitting surrounded by desks of equipment, in a makeshift wheelchair fashioned from what looked to be various spare parts.
Seeing as she held the gun, I was tentative to move beyond raising my arms, and barely managed to ask something like “who are you” and “please don’t”, bare in mind my brain was still spinning at finding someone else alive on 4546B who looked like they’d been here longer than I had. She introduced herself as Tarin, a researcher sent by Alterra almost twenty years ago to set up this station which wasn’t supposed to exist. How she explained it was that Tarin and her crew were supposed to observe and not intervene, but the station’s location right on the crater’s edge made that pretty difficult. She and her crew used to go out and collect samples to analyse, but they were here so long that one by one they perished. Some from injuries that never healed, like the incident that left her needing the wheelchair, some from disease (presumably the Kharaa) and some from unfortunate introductions to the native fauna, mostly leviathans. After that, she said she refused to leave the station, just keeping it running from the inside, utilising some old geothermal power generators. Honestly I felt sorry for her but asked why she had been here the entire time since I had crashed on the Aurora and she hadn’t communicated at all or sent her signal until now. She explained that she was supposed to be non-existent, not interfere but now with her in her current state and refusing to leave the station, she needed outside help.
As it turns out, my receiving her signal was not the only strange occurrence - her station had picked up some strange readings from a distance along the crater’s edge, some things that almost read like tectonic events but weren’t and then a short failing signal of its own, indicating intelligent life. She knew it needed to be investigated, but clearly was in no shape to do it herself, so reached out to the only other human left on the planet, me - and up until now she didn’t even know if she could trust me but was left with no choice.
This seemed a lot to take in, honestly I was emotionally reeling, having been on the planet alone for so long, anthropomorphising fish as friends just to stay sane. But nevertheless I accepted, maybe because I was a fool, maybe because after looking at her playback of the readings, I was curious too, I was beginning to love this planet despite how often it tried to kill me and I had never seen anything like this.
It was going to be tough, with no submersible support, only my seaglide - but as it turns out, the coordinates attached, albeit possibly corrupted, were not too far from where I had previously left my cyclops near the bottom of the grand reef. A very fortunate turn of events, formulating a plan to get out there, check out the signal and then retrieve my cyclops to bring me back and regroup at this station. Thankfully, Tarin agreed to give me some much needed gear to get me there hopefully in one piece - notably a more advanced set of oxygen tanks and some ion batteries for the seaglide. I thought about asking for the stasis rifle too, but I was not the only untrusting one and she refused.
As scary as it was, after I geared up, there was no point in waiting, so I locked myself back inside that antechamber with the bulkheads and let the water in, taking one last deep breath before latching on my rebreather and tanks, the water quickly rising around my legs. Making it back out of the station was a little easier, less confusing as I attempted to acclimatise to the layout, but it was no less scary when it became time to slip out of the round hatch and out into the unprotected abyss.
I was alone again, except for a few helpful mutterings in my radio from Tarin, that was until I left the range, isolated with nothing but a static buzz. I did not miss the ominous sounds in the water around me, checking out all directions as often as I could, and staying low to the ground to avoid being an easily picked-off snack as much as possible. It wasn’t too bad, I kept telling myself, yes albeit on my right was an endless void home only to miniscule plankton and huge hungry ghost leviathan and reapers - but on my left, a jagged plateau of life, a few crabsquids, a few new spider-like species I’d never seen, I even passed this gorgeous jellyshroom grove that couldn’t be more than a few decades old, it was more of a nursery.
Things started to get rocky, both physically and metaphorically, when I reached almost the other side of the crater’s edge, much more steep declines, a lot more rocks and sand than flora and fauna - and this low familiar roar echoing all around me, I couldn’t even make out where it came from. That was, until I turned around before following this downward slope, and as much as it was necessary - I wish I hadn't looked.
It was a sea dragon, easily double the size of a reaper, menacing and looming over me from behind, casting huge shadows on the seabed as it glided effortlessly in my direction. Two things to know about sea dragons, they might be just as terrifying as reapers or ghosts, if not more, and deal life-ending amounts of injury to someone not inside a prawn suit, but they were much slower due to their sheer size, and not the sharpest tool in the shed. I had faced off with these guys before, down in the inactive lava zones - but never this exposed, god knows what it was doing up here. Instead of instantly freaking out like my body urged me to do, I swam down as fast as my seaglide would allow, following the contours of the rocky mountainous ridges, trying desperately to get away.
As luck would have it, I did manage to find a cave, a small alcove in the rocks, with lots of stalactites and stalagmites, and took cover inside pretty swiftly, feeling the roar of the beast outside shaking my very core. I held there for quite a while, watching the entrance and my tank gauges nervously. At one point I thought I was done for when I saw those spider-like legs of one of those newer species just at the entrance, it was the bigger than a car, and I was wondering if I had accidentally stumbled into its home, but within a moment I saw the huge talons of the sea dragon swipe down and grab into it, gripping it so tightly it let out this blood-curdling high pitched shriek that I hope to never hear again. After that, it was a matter of staying as calm as possible whilst I listened to it die a horrible painful death - it must have been a sufficient and satisfying meal because the dragon’s roars slowly got more and more distant, allowing me to nervously continue on my way, albeit trembling like a leaf.
Now, I was only a click away from the supposed source of the signal and the water around me was becoming more and more murky by the meter, as if something big had kicked up a load of silt and sand that had yet to settle. Continuing onwards, with the added fear of a much smaller field of vision, I located the rough area and sunk down to the seabed. I could see pieces of scrap metal and warped ship’s hull that reminded me of my initial crash in the Aurora - and then I heard the familiar sound of a crabsquid. I was quick to turn off the light on my seaglide, plunging me into darkness, but when I turned around in the murky depths I could see another dim light. Curious if it was the source of my signal, but also wary of the locals, I headed closer until I could actually see. The Crabsquid was attacking an old mech, one that long predated the prawn suit, it was boxy and square, and contrary to all of my expectations, beyond the small cracked glass window, there was a person inside. At this point I had no idea what to do, I could not signal to them to turn off their lights, I couldn't even get close enough to communicate without also alerting the creature to my presence. I had to watch as the mech slowly lost more and more structural integrity, and in a second that had to have seemed so terrifying and bleak, the person inside was forced to abandon the suit before it shattered entirely.
They were shot out of the back hatch, in what looked like rudimentary space-wear, with not even a tank, just the air in their lungs. In the dark I hesitated but knew I had to act, shooting forward with my seaglide and grabbing a hand, probably freaking them out in the short term, but intending to save their life as we were dragged away from the angry clicking beast and the old mech. I knew we had to be somewhat close to where I left my cyclops - since I could see the bulb-bushes of the grand reef - and started aiming the seaglide toward it, hoping the ship’s ion cells still held enough power. In the meantime, I had to hold on devastatingly tight to my new passenger, the second human being I had met on this barren planet in less than a few hours. When we got far enough away I knew they would be struggling, panicking and oxygen deprived and thus turned on my little light, illuminating that it was another woman, younger this time, maybe around thirty. I took a deep breath and slipped off my mask, effectively buddy breathing with the poor girl, as risky as that is, until the big looming shadow of my cyclops came into view, I had never been so happy to see such a large and annoying lump of metal.
We clambered inside and she basically collapsed on the deck as I immediately went to check on our power levels. Thankfully we had maybe enough to make it back to that station or even the safe shallows at a push - so I took off my gear, turned on the minimal inside lighting, set up the tanks to refill and went to check on her, grabbing some left over rations and water I kept in the downstairs lockers.
She introduced herself as Becca and was a shaky crying mess, thanking me and freaking out all at once. She told me about how she was just a medical officer, promoted when the chief medical officer was fatally injured in an emergency landing. Their crew aboard a small low-class freighter, had been hired to do a simple retrieval for some research team on an uninhabited planet and somehow it had all gone wrong upon their return and they crashed into 4546B - and Becca seemed awfully sketchy when I pushed her for more details on what exactly had gone wrong, or how they crashed here.
With as much sense as I could pluck from the clearly traumatised woman, I led her upstairs and sat her down on this cot/bed I had built into the cabin of the top deck whilst I entered the cockpit and keyed in the rough coordinates of the void’s edge station. The water was so murky as I started the engines and got us going that I had to turn on the sonar too, not wanting to be surprised by any more leviathan-class visitors.
On the way back, my sonar sent back some pings of some larger chunks of metal and getting closer in the gloom I could make out the majority of Becca’s crashed ship, the USS Intrepid, with bits missing and chunks gone as debris was clearly settling to the sea floor. I went and got Becca, not wanting to disturb or traumatise her further, but I needed to ask if there were potentially any other survivors of the crash and if she wanted me to go look for them before we left, or any salvageable gear. She was more than adamant that there would be no one and that she wanted to just get as far away as possible.
I found this a little more suspicious than your average crash survivor, so allowed her to return to resting, quietly locking her in the cabin and returning to the cockpit. My brain was overflowing with these delusional ideas of what could have gone wrong, up to and including the possibility that Becca could have hurt someone, or been the cause of the crash somehow. It seemed paranoid but I couldn’t risk being right after all this. I lingered by the crash sight for a few more minutes, watching for any signs of life or movement, when I pointed the cyclops floodlights down a little further.
Buried in the sand a few meters from a chunk of ship was what looked to be a humanoid skeleton, and I was more than confused, because the ship had only just crashed, it was impossible for there to be just bones already, right? Instead of perhaps asking Becca what it was that they were hauling, I decided to grab my gear and just quickly head down to check it out, pulling on my tanks and going downstairs, only planning to be gone for maybe two or three minutes.
As I slipped out, there was only the sound of creaking metal, it seemed even the native species had been spooked from the area, almost more dead than the crash site around the aurora which was a far larger ship. I followed the beams of the flood lights down to the sand and brushed away what I could from the strangely out-of-place skeleton, and that was when my hand reeled back, goosebumps and bad feelings running down my body. First of all, it had a tail. Secondly, and more frightening, the head of the skeleton was certainly not human, for at the end of all those bones, there was a terrifying elongated skull, resembling nothing I had ever seen before even in all the strange species I had discovered on this planet. I knew it meant bad news, deep in my core I felt it instill a level of fear that somehow surpassed each and every leviathan I had ever faced, and I instantly headed back for the ship.
When I got inside, I turned that thing straight around and heard Becca knocking on the inside of the ship, probably trying to get out of the locked door or something, and relying on the autopilot and the coordinates for just a moment, I headed back to let her out only to find her sat on the bed, rocking a little with her knees up to her chest. I sort of feel bad for the way I interrogated her next, but it was necessary and I was rightfully scared after what I had found (it was almost like I had some subconscious knowledge of the skull, like the movies had taken place, but they certainly weren’t movies, yanno?).
Begrudgingly she let loose, bursting into frantic tears as she told me more of what had happened, about how the planet they were sent to was definitely not uninhabited and housed one of the worst species they had ever encountered. How they were apparently supposed to just bring back samples, and one of the damn company’s scientists found the bones and decided to bring back those too, only for a live one to make its way onto the Intrepid and wreak havoc, killing almost everybody and causing the malfunction and the crash. She said something about the little bug thing that clung to her crewmate's face, and the way a small crawling beast forced its way out of his chest. With hindsight it is clear this is Alien by now, but being there, hearing all this for the “first time” it was horrific and hardly even believable if I had not seen those bones with my own eyes. This is why she wanted to get far far away, this is why she was inconsolable, and rightfully so - she also pointed out that she believed that the company knew of the danger and purposefully didn’t tell them; I sympathised, thinking it sounded like something Alterra would do. I didn’t argue with her from that point forward and just focused on getting the cyclops to the station.
When we returned I pulled up as close as possible and grabbed all the power cells to bring with us to charge as we swam the short distance to the hatch, thankfully no leviathans this time. Tarin was inside and thankful that I was at least alive, and quite baffled by the survivor too, and I did not know where to even start explaining what was happening. I don’t think she quite wrapped her head around it either based on how poorly I was shooting unbelievable information at her, but then she paused as we went back into the little hub where all her equipment was, and apologised before letting us in, quietly explaining that Alterra had been in contact and wanted to know exactly why Tarin had been in contact with me and what that stray signal was.
I don’t know exactly why I did it, I just did. Instinctively when we went in there, I made sure Becca was kept off screen, and I took the lead, saying hello to the industry, my employers, who had abandoned me here in the first place and lying to their faces. I told them that Tarin needed assistance doing some repairs she could no longer handle in her physical condition so she reached out, out of necessity, and that she had located the signal and sent me out to investigate. I then told them that there was nothing there, and it must have just been a glitch in the system. I didn’t need yet another greedy capitalist cooperation on my ass when we were now potentially battling for our lives against the ultimate non-native predator.
That was when my PDA started alerting me, and I quickly shut off the intercom, only to look down and see that there was unrecognised movement inside the engine room of my cyclops.

Can Amazon Sustain Its Dominance in the E-commerce Sector?
Tumblr media
Amazon has taken its place amongst the world’s major Internet-based corporations. A platform that has attracted millions of its user across the globe and one that has revolutionalized our ability to shop. It provides a fast shipping service, a rather vast product portfolio, and concentrates on its customer base. However, the question that arises is that: As more and more competitors appear in the near future, can Amazon continue to dominate the market? As such, more people are asking whether the company can maintain its superiority. By this, it means that for Amazon to remain dominant it must be able to come up with strategies that counters the ever evolving trends. This fact is confirmed by examples from the past, according to which the position on top is never certain.
Growing Competition
Indeed, the level of competition on Amazon is increasing. Retail giants like Walmart, Alibaba and e-commerce enablers like Shopify are pushing hard. They are enhancing their platforms, the platforms are becoming better for the customer. New competitors are only a click away and Walmart has recently initiated fast and cheaper shipping like Amazon. Through shopify, small business are being aided on how to operate online. These competitors are not just competing directly with Amazon as was the case a few years back. But the slice is getting thinner and even new platforms like IGTV and Instagram Shopping are dragging users away. Thus, the key competitors — big retail stores and merchants — are trying to edge Amazon by concentrating on their advantages, namely, individual approach and specialisation.
The Future of E-commerce
However, we also have primary strengths for Amazon as follows: Logistics infrastructure which the company has established is almost unchangeable. The fact is that people still come to Amazon Prime in millions. In newer tactics of delivery like drone delivery, the cashier-less stores they are preparing the future of the retail business. Basically, Amazon cannot wane or pause at this time and you will read why in the subsequent sections of this discourse. Listening to customers remains one of the most critical activities the company has to undertake. If it fails to adapt, customers can always switch to other brands that preference green in their products. This outlet of business is dynamic, and Amazon needs to adapt for it to keep on being the market giant it is. That makes the question, can Amazon maintain its position at the top of the online retail food pyramid? In any case, it is a good niche player, at least for now, though only time will tell.
It is our observation at Amazon that the game is never won; it has to be played over and over again. Only a few years down the road the success of this company will only be determined by how it is going to manage competition and which market trends it is going to embrace.
