:O I guess this is what I get for forgetting to put my choices into the og submission for but!! still I was so surprised that es no yuutsu didn’t show up in the a3 music polls? mb it’s because I haven’t actually listened to much a3 music yet (only act 1 chara songs + act 1 plays) but still… I think homare and hisokas voices go very well together and I really like how the song is kind of like. it doesn’t get too dramatic and it sounds almost kind of like… languid? very fitting for like the solemn vibes of solving a murder mystery. anyways this is not a complaint mostly I just wanted to talk abt a song I really like lmaooo

It's really such a nice song and their voices really go very well together. It's too sad it didn't make the cut.

but it's okay, we know how great it is, it has the perfect vibes for the mystery they're in for.

(personally i'm also kinda buzzing over how some of the words end up echoing Chikage's future songs 🙈 Like there's a line in Es no Yuutsu sang by Hisoka where he goes on about "Keep deceiving me with beautiful lies" or something like that, in comparison to Usotsuki wa Mahou no Hajimari, the Charlatan of Oz's song, where the chorus is "you can deceive others, be deceived, who'd have thought that it's not so bad after all?" and they use the same word, and i don't know i'm just really a sucker for songs that sort of refers to one another)

butyeah, can't be helped, there are honestly so many good songs even onward, and obviously some characters bias, not to mention a lot of the stage songs as well, so it couldn't make the cut... still is an incredible song though, what a banger.

Completely forgot to share this lol this is what was causing my suffering over runs (I gave up on figuring out the fingerings for the high ones.  Violins you figure that shit out yourselves I just know it’s possible because I can do it slowly)

Anyway, this was a gift for both Sakuya and my darling friend @moonmuffins, as well as a commemoration of A3EN... though the last one just happened to coincide with the first two.  It’s also way different from the other two I’ve already worked on, but I wanted to challenge myself!  Some parts were torture and others were really fun, but that’s not too unusual

thinking about this song in terms of the freelancer!imperium videos once more & very much along the lines of my "usotsuki wa mahou no hajimari" hc

just imagine life goes on after the freelancer and vindemiator make it to the academy.

eventually, the rain stops. everything goes according to the way it should. and life continues on.

the freelancer studies magic, vindemiator lives with his new reality and with avior, huxley still acts as grunt work for lasko, and the air elemental himself stays in power.

and then the freelancer wakes up one morning in their dorm room and its storming. hard. just like the day kody had cornered them in that dark alleyway.

they had cut their hair since then, chopping it to give themselves a "fresh start" once more, but now it had grown back out. the freelancer couldn't help but run their finger over the hair framing their face, the same way kody had, gently skimming past their cheek. the same way kody had when he threatened to slice away their magic.

the freelancer can't help but shudder.

when vindemiator hears the incessant pounding of the rain, he feels restless. he remembers the feeling in his chest when he was escaping with the freelancer, so many months ago, the euphoric feeling of being free again.

he also remembers the actions that got him free.

vindemiator sees kody as he left him completely numb and motionless in that van, paralyzed with pleasure and burnt out to never feel it again. it hadn't felt good when vindemiator had done it and today, it felt like a suffocating weight on his chest.

evil, just like the department believed.

huxley is standing guard when the rain hits. it chills him to the bone despite his best efforts to stay warm under his coat. he spies vindemiator hiking through the campus, looking bothered and lost, and considers giving him a hard time-

but something in his gut twists uncomfortably.

he can still feel the way vindemiator's nose had cracked under his fist. the way his blood stuck go huxley's hands. the names he shouted at the demon who could have never fought back.

why did huxley do that?

lasko tries to block out the noise of the rain as he meets with the freelancer about their classes. they're feeling nostalgic, wanting to see their old partner in crime as a reward for their hard work in their studies.

lasko can't let them go back to him. he'll lose the freelancer to the demon.

but yet he sees the way their words draw on in fatigue, the way their shoulders sag in exhaustion. they are not the same humanborn that came to him months ago, now just a hollow shell of the person they were.

lasko can't help but feel responsible for it all.

the rain serves as a reminder of what happened to them all.

what have they become?

bring the rain to my front door,

bring a thundering sky.

Itaru hates Chigake’s stats even more

Chikage somehow managed to avoid recording and only minimal song practices with Sakuya, but when he's stuck with Izumi she not only makes him practice his lines but also his singing

Izumi is already plotting Chikage's involvement in more songs in the future to which he scoffs at her, but she has thoughts about a curry song so.... His blog could use some music...

When Chikage has his "change of heart" with Sakuya, the next morning they also practice the song together. Chikage gets it much better than acting and they have the entire song recorded, edited, and finalized within a day

Omi has a steady supply of tea prepared

They have a version from before, where Matsukawa synthed Chikage's voice and it's surprisingly decent considering (they were planning on saying Chikage was shy about singing)

This version becomes a meme amongst the Mankai members and Itaru especially is a shit about it, playing it as an alarm or when Chikage is in the bath

The 2 came to a stalemate when Chikage almost exposed Itaru at work in retaliation

Chikage is now a prime candidate for karaoke night, and whenever he refuses to sing, the other members get Sakuya to sing their song and Chikage gives in

He still refuses to do the partner promotion dance that Izumi and Kazunari choreographed though

He did it once for promotions and Kaz swears he had it recorded, but can't find the video

Want to hear Kakihara Tetsuya (Elmott/Icas) sing as a sexy vampire in love with a mortal man? Please listen to Shoutai. Or want a sweet song about cuddling at night until morning comes? Yoake no Junsui is for you.  Or how about a cool song that, look, idk how to describe, it’s just super cool, with Kikyou no Hana?

You see me cry about Wataru Hatano (Randall/Owen) all day? that’s because of a3 too! Want to see him fool himself setting himself up as a hurtful person? Please listen to Petenshi no Yuutsu. Or want to hear him as Moriarty having a very sexy duet about murder? Please listen to Scarlet Game it’s probably my favorite song like, ever. Or want to hear his take on the Wizard of Oz? Ever saw me lose my mind when Atsushi Tamary (Tor) joined the gbf cast and wondered why? And i’ll invite you to Unmask because who needs any adaptation of Phantom of the Opera after this banger of a song? 

Or how about an hilarious one of, wanna hear a duet of Eguchi Takuya (Vane) and Shirai Yutsuke (Mordred) where they just act like bitchy arrogant models together and having the biggest whiplash imagining Vane and Mordred singing it? Professional is for you.

Or maybe you’ll take a crossover of hearing EguTaku singing with Koutaro Nishiyama (Justin from the Vicious D) because crossover craziness ever? Please listen to ITTEKI ~Yoshitsune Ibunroku~. Or maybe you’d just like to listen to the woes of a perfectionist being burdened by his shortcomings with Natsu no Dilema.

What A3! song makes you feel happiness?

Usotsuki wa Mahou no Hajimari (Sakuya + [Chikage]), Suisei to Circus O (Kazunari + [Homare], and Wonderland a Go Go! (Itaru + [Masumi]). Oh, look, for once an image that had the slightest thing to do with one of the actual plays!
