"No, or at least, I don't remember swallowing anything of the sort. There's really nothing supernatural to my crafting. It's just skill and practice, and is something anyone could theoretically do.

Though I will admit that there have been a lot rumors, and while some of them underestimate my capabilities, there have been ones that hugely overplay it, too. Especially my ability to "create life". You see, I can swallow and store more than one thing at a time, and I can also store a Snail or a Noodlefly Egg. That isn't widely known, but it is known that other slugcats cannot do these things, so when others see me spit up multiple things, or 'conjure a Snail out of nowhere', they think it's me doing crafting. It's very silly, I know. Folks often go for such strange explanations for things, when the answers are so simple! Maybe I should have told them, but… I think it's more fun this way"

I combined footage from my Detektiv Conan Blu-ray with audio from my Case Closed FUNimation DVD and made an HD English dub clip compilation for Episodes 57-58, "The Holmes Freak Murder Case."

#detective conan #case closed #video #funimation english dub script #i wasn't actually gonna post this video to tumblr because it's so long (because i have a lot of feelings about this case!)#but folks on discord liked it and i'm all about my funi dub propaganda so why not right?#the dub script here is just so fun--and does so well at making the dialogue *work* and sound natural in english #and has so much flavor! it does arguably too much in terms of creative liberties but things like #'can i really trust what a kid saw?' of the sub translation compared to 'and what were you smoking before you ran out there?' in the dub #are much more enjoyable to me #(other fun phrasings: 'the one who's always hangin' around you guys' (sub) vs. 'the little-bitty one with the great big brain!' (dub))#(and 'of course not! the reason i applied for this tour was 'cuz i thought i might find kudo' (sub))#(vs. 'who me? no no no. actually i signed up because i was hoping to run into jimmy here. but i guess i'm out of luck' (dub))#(and so many more! this script just has so much character)#and while it is a shame that the dub eliminated heiji's accent i do like the changed line ('i know it's you!')#'cause you've met shinichi *once* heiji lol #but yeah this is a fun case! i'm really happy to have finally hd'd the funi dub for it :')#one of my favorite things about the funi dub is that jerry jewell (shinichi's va) voices conan's thoughts #and it's so nice to hear *shinichi* and heiji deducting together (and the way they finish each other's thoughts and vibe... it gets to me)

my brother walked in on me watching tottmnt at the moment where donnie said he has to go "beast mode" and he was like "did he just say beast mode?" and i said "yeah im sorry about him" like im a disappointed father responding to their kid's teacher explaining that their kid just swore in class

Queer Is Profitable Now (But Only Happy Queers!)#made me cringe in a ‘oh god that’s so accurate’ kind of way #There’s a few brief chapters that are full production scripts (sound effects/multiple VAs) which was cool (if brief)#and the way that related to the story was really interesting.#I will say - lots of discussion of bury your gays in tv (obviously)& discussion of recent trying to replace artists/writers with ai #but I feel like it skipped over the whole Cancelling Every Show With Lesbians (especially since the characters in his show are sapphic)?#Like that's very on theme and relevant; I would have expected a mention of it if nothing else haha #his best friend is aroace and I thought was handled pretty well #there's a bit at the end that's like her invisible identity helps her save the day which is obviously pointed commentary #but also it was her tech skills that did that not her sexuality?? so it felt slightly awkward. idk. not a major criticism lol #(I guess she is the kind of character to make it into a joke about that)#also is he named misha after. you know

I cannot express how happy I am to see the new Rick and Morty VAs taking pics and clearly having fun with the rest of the Smith/Sanchez VAs at the wrap party.

I honestly believe having separate VAs for Rick and Morty is going to completely elevate the show. Imagine how much more effective and realistic their interactions are gonna be when in the booth together, getting rid of R*iland will be the best thing they've probably ever done
