i don't know! i dont really get the terms optimist and pessimist really. i just kind of go through my day to day. same thing with intro/extrovert. i just kind of do my thing. i think all of us end up being optimists at times, when things r good, and pessimists in other times. but i think daily im just a ferret in a tube responding to stimuli with base instincts

fun fact i also have scars on my knuckles from "punching" concrete lol. i was in a pool with that sort of popcorn ceiling texture concrete instead of tile on the inside and misjudged my distance from the wall and scraped my hand while doing front crawl/freestyle laps

okay so!! I was watching a streamer from the Netherlands just now and I started thinking about if you can draw a line from northern Sweden down to say.....northern France, and get an audible dialect continuum!

Because in my mind, Danish sounds like swedish with a German rhythm, and Scanian (skånska, southern swedish dialect) always sounded like swedish with a danish rhythm. That dialect also gets more "rounded" the farther up you go.

Keeping in mind that the German language branch as a family is very closely related, to the point that old Norse and old English once upon a time was very similar, I don't think it's too speculative to presume that there exist some sort of dialect continuum across all the Germanic languages. I was looking up to see if the same can be said for its influence on french, but french is vulgar Latin as spoken by the Gauls, and the Gauls spoke a Celtic language.

wrt the mechanisms: i actually recommend starting with the "revenge of spaceport mahon" video on youtube, bc it gives u a good sense of the band/characters and their whole schtick Before u dive into the other albums, and then i just listened to them in order (OUATIS, UDAD, HNOC, then TBI). TBI has a different sound from the others so i think it's best to save that for last, just imo

since some of the songs in tales to be told are mechs' backstory and some are stand-alones, i think once you've got a sense of who all the crew is u can listen to TTBT 1 + 2 last if u want, it doesn't rly matter when u listen to them since they're not the Big Stories. (they're still rly good tho! hereward the wake is one of my fav mechs songs and dr pilchard is hilarious)

didn't send that anon but i do agree i find bullets hard to listen to, smth about the rawness of both the sound quality and the feeling in it feels like i have to be in the right context/mood or else i can't handle it emotionally lol. i actually tend not to listen to it much at all even tho i listen to the other 3 albums all the time but it's not cuz i don't like it or anything it's just. A Lot

OOPS sorry tumblr wasnt showing me the whole ask lol i only saw the first sentence. i actually agree with this bc bullets is so emotional both in itself and also in what it means to me that listening to it casually is difficult. i have to be in a bullets mood, which is not something i have with any of the other albums.
