Introducing (a few of) My OCs
Beneath the cut: a version of them without their names, a version with their identities, relationship diagrams, and a little bit about their story
If you have trouble reading anything, just let me know and I’ll clarify!
First things first, something that you might have noticed are the symbols beneath a few of their names. The characters who have those symbols (Okiltran/Oki, Naidra, Arpos) aren’t human, so that writing is their names in their language (I’m still tweaking their alphabet, but I have it down for the most part.) Another thing, this story (as of today: 06 Sep 2024) takes place around the 1820s in northwestern Arizona (which was Mexican territory at the time).
Okiltran is a noble from his planet who went into human studies (anthropology) instead of following his parents’ career paths. He became pretty renowned in his field, so he was able to apply for an expedition to study humanity on Earth, but when he got here, he was separated from his team. Although strictly forbidden, he entered human society and mingled with people nearby– the first one being Bernardo.
Bernardo, a horse farrier working at a ranch, discovered early on that Oki wasn’t human. Instead of fearing him, however, he struck a deal with him. If Oki agreed to marry him, Okiltran could have a place to stay among humans for further research and Bernardo would finally get the local townsfolk to quit pestering him about settling down. Oki agreed, but over time they gradually caught feelings for each other until their love wasn’t fake anymore.
Justice is a mutual friend (although Bernardo is reluctant to admit it). He’s a USAmerican trader/merchant who set up shop in the town this story takes place in. He’s friendly with all the townsfolk, but he likes to think he’s much closer to Bernardo and Oki than anyone else until Naidra and Arpos enter the picture.
Naidra is Oki’s childhood friend. He was actually hired as a body double for Okiltran in case any assassination attempts were made on the young lord’s life when they were children (high class culture ruthless and willing to sacrifice another child to protect their own). After Oki no longer needed a body double, Naidra was reassigned to mercenary work and they didn’t see each other again until years later on Earth. As adults, the love and camaraderie they had as children was reignited, and they still consider themselves to be best friends. Having been raised as cannon fodder, Naidra is more than willing to kill and be killed for his loved ones since he sees that as his life’s purpose anyway.
Arpos is a scholar and a noble much like Okiltran, but she’s much more in tune with rules and regulations. She was also Oki’s betrothed until he went to Earth and failed to keep contact. It was an arranged marriage with no feelings from either side, so she was more peeved about Oki breaking the law to be with humans than she was about breaking the engagement without notice. Her dedication to customs and laws made her very antagonistic, but while on Earth, she gradually mellowed out and learned that some rules shouldn’t be taken so seriously.
That’s all for now so :) I’ll answer any questions you might have. Thank you for your interest if you’ve made it all the way down here <3 I appreciate it <3

"OLHA A COBRA! É mentira!
Olha a chuvaaa! Já passou! Anarriê!"
DFW24, day 5 – Culture Couture
Speaking of cultures around the world, i decided to throw Donald, Daisy, José and Rosinha to a sometimes forgotten part of my own culture: the Festa Junina! So put on a good xote to listen and drink a nice glass of quentão while i explain in a little abstract under the cut how this party works!
The Festa Junina are a group of popular parties that lasts the whole month of june due the celebrations of holidays of Saint Anthony (june 13), Saint John (june 24) and Saint Peter (june 29) from the catholicism and the harvest in late autumn (especially of corn). There are games, typical food like the canjica, clothes, musics and the dances (in the art above you can see the characters dancing the quadrilha)!

Right now, Twitter is inaccessible to Brazilians. We'll see how long this whole situation lasts but know that I'll still be posting my art to Tumblr normally! I also have an Instagram and Bluesky I'll try updating!
