Akechi as a Velvet Room attendant au- but he effectively replaces Caroline and Justine in Ren's Velvet Room.

So basically: During one of Wakaba's questionable experiments, Akechi dies, and Yaldabaoth is like "Fuck, I can work with this" and scoops up Akechi's soul into the Velvet Room to act as Ren's attendants when the time comes. The whole 'splitting in half' thing was barely even Yaldy's doing in this au- Akechi's personas were already Robin Hood and Loki, so when he was dragged into the Velvet Room post-death, he manifested as two seperate entities.

Back in the real world, Wakaba's reaction essentially boils down to "shit", since she just murdered a child by mistake. Shido would normally be very upset by this, but he instead decides to make it work, and instead of having Wakaba killed, he blackmails her into complete compliance by holding her ethical malpractice over her head. Somewhat unsure as to the state of the mental shutdowns- definitely no psychotic breakdowns, though.

Meanwhile, in regard to other canon divergences- Futaba doesn't have a palace, but is quite upset with her mother due to how obsessed she is with her research, especially since all the stuff with Akechi. (Futaba is unaware of all this, for the most part)

Wakaba, on the other hand, does have a palace. Perhaps focused on guilt +deflecting blame?

Sae's role in the story is fairly similar, but rather than being on the mental shutdowns case (She might still be on the case, but it isn't her focus/leads into what she's actually interested in) She's obsessed with Akechi's missing person's case, since she noticed it two years ago and how suspicious it is, and is furious that no one seems to care, a concequence of Shido's influence and the general poor treatment of orphans.

can I say as I do elizabeth’s requests. god making jimmy the velvet room attendant for joel was SUCH a funny choice actually. I think he acts like a beleaguered fail man so much that joel doesn’t realize at first that jimmy like. is still a supernatural, possibly immortal man from another dimension, who, and this is key, is very much not human. so joel is like “yes he’s the weird little man only I can see. we have a teasing relationship. he is somehow one of the only sane people I know though, don’t tell him I said that.”

except then jimmy starts requesting of joel to get escorted places in the human world from time to time right. asks joel to take him to a “laundromat” to “do laundry” and joel is like. why are you saying it like that. sure. this’ll be funny. and he’s expecting jimmy to make a LITTLE BIT of a fool of himself. he is NOT expecting that jimmy straight-up doesn’t know what a washing machine is. like jimmy squints at it and asks how it doubles as a torture device. he’s heard doing laundry is a kind of torture. and joel goes WHAT. and jimmy says yeah he doesn’t really get it this is fun to sit and watch though. and joel goes WHAT???

and this is the first time joel takes jimmy out of the velvet room. joel immediately on returning goes “I need to make a list of places to take you that will confuse you the most possible” and jimmy is like “BUT YOU WOULDN’T ACTUALLY EXPLAIN WHAT THE PURPOSE OF LAUNDRY WAS STOP MOCKING ME???”

anyway the point is that velvet room jimmy remains hilarious,

Going back to this dream hypothetical Persona 6 game, gimme an Attendant that just fucking hates the protagonist. Not so much that they'd refuse and actively hinder you but make you sweat and earn your way to maxing their SLink.

Like, they look back at their siblings and the one who left and think to themselves - Man, these humand ain't shit why'd she go out of her way for some chump? That mentality fuels the actually difficult Persona fusions they wanna see.

Go out of your way to schedule a Fusion Forecast with an Alarm to get a Fusion Failure so you can get the stacked Metatron with only passive skills which have a 5% chance to have Victory Cry and Almighty Amp.
