Artista italiana che vive a Hong Kong, Valentina Loffredo produce immagini e le pubblica su Instagram. Il suo lavoro riscuote immediato successo: 80 mila follower in 4 anni, e nel 2017 una serie di mostre: una prima personale a Hong Kong, una collettiva al The Other Art Fair di Londra, a Venezia in occasione dell’evento collaterale della Biennale Personal Structures infine é stata presente dall’ 8 febbraio 2018 a Milano alla galleria Post Design per una nuova personale. Il segreto di tanto successo può essere svelato dal critico fotografico Denis Curti: sulla messa in scena di un immaginario surreale, Valentina Loffredo fa propria l’audacia interpretativa di un linguaggio inedito, a sua volta espressione di un pensiero e di una personalissima attitudine visiva. Le coordinate della vita reale e dei consueti metodi di lettura delle imagini non sono contemplati in questa visione, che solo il sogno e l’immaginazione possono tentare di spiegare dall’interno. E, in effetti, nel corso della nuova costruzione di senso, è l’autrice stessa a dettare le regole di quella sorprendente “grammatica della fantasia” che segna il passo di una consapevole scelta stilistica. As for me, I’m very little è il titolo della collezione di lavori che la fotografa porta a Milano, queste le sue parole a spiegare il progetto: il concetto di “little” è centrale nel mio lavoro. Essere piccoli vuol dire essere all’inizio di un percorso, porsi nella condizione di poter crescere, condizione che mi affascina perché cela dentro di sé i concetti di potenzialità, esplorazione e trasformazione. Osservando le immagini realizzate da Valentina Loffredo si ha infatti la sensazione di entrare in un mondo in cui tutto sia possibile.

Introducing Blue Blood Killer, a project that I will do in class and a future series that I will do.

SPOILERS:

Blue Blood Killer takes place in Europe, where a secret organization is sworn to protect those with superpowers from getting killed by an alien race known as the Caeruleans. The main characters are all humans except for the one that is a Caerulean who despises his species' ethics and views towards the homo sapiens. This story carries action-packed fantasy and a comedic tone. It also explores how both sides in a war may have grey moral compasses—similar to Animorphs, Deadpool, B the Beginning, and other modern X-men comic titles.

2008: The story starts in Porta Venezia, Milan, where Airi Rossi, a spunky young girl, meets a shy, young alien boy– later known as Aoki Lombardi– after meeting each other in a forest where a spaceship crash landed. Airi and Aoki would become the best of friends as time passed. They grow in mutual understanding, with Airi understanding Aoki's powers and Aoki understanding human culture. Aoki was the only alien until the war began. His parents sent him away to avoid his capture by the Grand High Arclight and the Caerulean guards.

Nine years later

2017: A giant blue goop from the sky splashed all across the regions of Planet Earth, including European regions. The goop demolished buildings and statues and even caused earthquakes, tsunamis, and other natural disasters. The ones that survived have been contaminated with the blue goop from the sky, and the ones that didn't have succumbed to the disasters. Survivors have built makeshift hospitals and refugee camps–-Including one in the Milan Cathedral— in order to tend to each other. With their newfound powers, some people have attempted to rebuild establishments, monuments, and homes. Some have even attempted to replant new crops and jumpstart electricity for refrigeration, guidance, and communications.

6 Year War

2018: Things have died down, at least for the moment. But right when Airi and Aoki were settling into their new home, a group of Caeruleans and Caerulean-Human mutations known as Azurites ambushed their home and began attacking them. Right when the Caeruleans were about to inject a concoction that would diminish her powers, Airi manifested the power of luck onto the plasma-like lycanthrope Aoki, causing him to obliterate the Caerulean soldiers and Azurites with a giant blast. Recognizing they were targets, the two raced out of their home and tried to find a place where they could not be found. As they began searching for a place, a teleportation disk stepped into view and warped them into a high-tech facility. This secret hideout was located underneath the grassy side of Parco Sempione. Another location was in Milan.

This is where the two meet the stoic, no-nonsense Office CEO turned commander Edgar Watson and tech specialist Thea Cirillo. Their new goal is to save hundreds if not thousands, of lives from the Caerulean who try to terrorize and wipe out their superpowers. From there on out, they formed an organization known as the Lapis Reale.

Aoki meets three more Caeruleans during the 6-year war. In 2020, he met an ill-tempered and antisocial Cerulean named Telice Cortecepts, who lives in the Vertical Forests of Milan. In 2021, he met Nizami Konojami, a crafty and eccentric Caeruelean who wields the power of the weather and is known for pranking Aoki. And in the middle of the summer, he meets Ciel Shimumu, a psychic Cerulean Aoki was supposed to marry by order of the High Arclight.

2023: Years after saving countless lives, including ones who would become members of Lapis Reale, their new objective is to get rid of the person who started this war: an immortal Caerulean and leader of Caerule, known as the Grand High Arclight. The Grand High Arclight decides that since their soldiers couldn't muster any strength to wipe out the human race, they would have to take action. Grand High Arclight resorted to kidnapping all of the human race and eating it, regaining more power and immortality so that they could recreate their race.

Not wanting to die, Airi, the rest of the Lapis Reale force, and the reformed Cerulean soldiers team up to find ways to prevent them and the innocents from becoming digested. While doing so, Airi and Aoki have also spared the injured soldiers after fighting them to see if they're willing to switch allegiances. If possible, the two also help the aliens, who are non-soldiers around town, and give them food and shelter.

They began crawling out of the Grand High Arclight's digestive acid and trying to find their brain(their weak spot). This attempt was arduous as Azurites were lurking within their stomach, trying to rip the bubble the Earthlings were in and then kill them. However, once they reached the brain, they finally shut it off, resulting in the Grand High Arclight's death and their ship shutting down. After getting out of the ship and realizing that the Grand High Arclight was the one that powered the ship, the Airi and the group scrambled to find the controls. Having full knowledge of the Caerulean language and technology, Aoki and several of the reformed Caeruleans powered up the ship and piloted it back home. The story ends with a festival celebrating the two races' victory, defeating their immortal godlike tyrant.

Blue Blood Killer (ブルー・ブラッド・キラー) Characters.

Airi Rossi(アイリ・ロッシ, Age 28, Tychokinesis): A spunky, optimistic girl and the aunt of a girl named Hiromi who always gets herself into trouble no matter how big or small. However, she makes up for her clumsiness with her incredible knowledge of astronomy and astrology that she inherited from her father, and her willingness to help others in need, even after going through so much disasters. Her main superpower is luck, meaning she can increase the probability of her and her friends. She and Aoki have been best friends since childhood. Prior to the war against the Caeruleans, she grew up to be a cop.

Aoki Lombardi or Niro Oregine(アオキ・ロンバルディ/ナイロ・オレギン, Age 28, Plasmakinesis, Wolf Physiology): Quiet, kindhearted, lonely Caerulean and at some point paranoid. After being separated from his parents and sent all the way to Earth, he became scared and alone until he met and befriended Airi. Prior to the war against the Caeruleans, he was a Mineralogist and Petrologist, and he would rather not have anyone including himself destroy life on a planet. Because that would see himself as a monster.

Thea Cirillo(テア・シリロ, Age 29, Technokinesis): A sassy, partying, and mischievous, Tech specialist/hacker and a good friend mainly Airi and Aoki. In the aftermath of the destruction from the Blue Goop, and after being shafted by her estranged family, she traveled all the way from Paros and straight to Italy to find Edgar and her new coworkers.

Edgar Watson(エドガー・ワトソン, Age 41, Metalkinesis): Stoic and perfectionist man who was once President of the office building QUOCA Distribution(Quality United Observation Collective Administration) and is now leader of Lapis Reale. He is usually calm and collected, but when faced with any sort of nonsense or a threat that greatly impacts him and his associates he will lose his temper.

Marco Orlando(マルコ・オーランド, Age 38, Dragon Physiology): A wrestler with a big heart of gold and a muscle of a Titan. He had a wife named Key and a young daughter named Marcella and ever since they were killed, he had been devastated and angry, causing the newfound draconic powers to overtake him and go on a kill spree. After Lapis Reale defeats and reforms him, he decides to train himself both emotionally and physically in order to keep his inner demons at bay.

Benjamin Hoffman(ベンジャミン・ホフマン, Age 26, Hydrokinesis and Merfolk Physiology): A Jewish sailor borne from France dedicated to his job and his daily life routine. When the goop destroyed all of the areas in France, cities were destroyed his captain crew mates as well as families were killed and he was stuck in the ocean. Everything was all crashing down. However, Lapis Reale managed, he slowly had to get used to having new people in his life as well as having a new job. He’s used to having a routine and has a bad habit of overthinking, but his strength comes in unlimited geographic and oceanographic knowledge.

Kline Ledger “McCoy” Rossi(クライン・レジャー・マッコイ・ロッシ,Age 40, Jinx Manipulation): Former professor at Caraway University with a Ph.D. in astrophysics, an old friend of Edgar and Claude and the real father of Airi Rossi. Very lax and antisocial individual contrast to his cheery attitude prior to his kidnapping by the Caerulians. McCoy is his pen name.

Titus Gardener(タイタス・ガーデナー, Age 60, Elasticity): A kind old man who works and lives in the gardens of the Milan apartments. Like He’s a pacifist and sees the good in nature despite the flaws, hence why he’s not keen in a participating a war and would rather act as a part of a rescue team. He’s good friends with and would often bring tea in order to comfort them during a stressful situation.

Ciel Shimumu(シエル・シムム, Age 28, Psychokinesis): A Caerulian and a former significant other for Aoki/Niro who would often times sticks to the rules, especially, however will not outright dictate anyone and would rather stick to the sidelines if need be. However due to her psychic powers, she cannot ignore those suffering, human or Caeruleans. She’s good friends with Hinako and Airi Rossi.

🛶let me take you backwards and forwards🚤 This is a painting I did while in residence @bevilacqualamasa in 2017/18. It’s based on a photograph I captured of friends waiting for the Venice Night Line at the Rialto boat stop. If you’ve never stood in one of these stops, it may recall some sort of public transportation interior. Feel welcome to comment below what you may be seeing for yourself :) This piece was first exhibited at the end of residency group show at the BLM Gallery in Piazza San Marco, Venice. Later that year, it travelled to Berlin to be shown in Transferred Recall, a solo show. Yayoi Kusama è la più importante artista giapponese.

Geniale e camaleontica, realizza installazioni tridimensionali, performance di body painting e dipinti che danno corpo al suo paesaggio interiore.

Un lavoro concettuale che porta avanti tematiche femministe con una tecnica mista tra minimalismo, surrealismo, art brut, pop art ed espressionismo astratto, accomunati dalla tecnica dei pois.

È nata il 22 marzo 1929 a Matsumoto in una famiglia dell’alta borghesia. Ha avuto un’infanzia difficile e travagliata segnata da grossi traumi psicologici. Fin da bambina, ha sofferto di allucinazioni visive e uditive, percependo un’aura particolare intorno ad alcuni oggetti e sentendo gli animali parlare.

Ha utilizzato l’arte per riprodurre ciò che faceva parte di questo mondo, cercando trasformarla in un antidoto.

Appassionata di pittura, veniva ostacolata in tutti i modi dai genitori, ha iniziato a ribellarsi al sistema, sognando di abbandonare il suo paese non appena ne avesse avuto la possibilità.

Nel 1958 si è trasferita a New York per seguire la sua musa ispiratrice, l’artista Georgia O’Keeffe.

Gli inizi non furono facili, l’arte era dominata dagli uomini e nessuna galleria era disposta a offrire spazio a una donna, asiatica e sconosciuta.

I suoi primi lavori sono stati la serie Infinity Net, grandi tele di circa dieci metri, astratte e molto colorate.

Durante tutta la sua carriera è stata subissata da atteggiamenti sessisti e razzisti da parte di colleghi, critici e galleristi.

Negli anni ’60 ha realizzato numerose performance, spesso provocatorie, in cui dipingeva con dei pois i corpi nudi dei partecipanti, facendoli “entrare” nelle sue opere.

Nel 1964 ha presentato alla galleria di Gertrude Stein One Thousand Boat Show, opera in cui ha sfidato il patriarcato attraverso innumerevoli forme falliche.

Una sua performance indimenticabile, nel 1966, portò scompiglio alla Biennale di Venezia dove si era presentata, senza essere invitata, gettando 1.500 sfere galleggianti nei canali della città come parte dell’opera Giardino dei Narcisi.

Dopo aver vissuto a pieno la vivacità delle avanguardie newyorchesi, nel 1973, è tornata in Giappone ritrovandosi davanti un mondo arretrato di cento volte rispetto a quello che aveva lasciato. I giornalisti connazionali la trattavano in modo freddo e infastidito, quasi fosse uno scandalo per il paese, questa brutta accoglienza, le ha procurato una forte depressione.

Dal 1977, ha scelto, volontariamente, di vivere in un ospedale psichiatrico, crea le sue opere in un atelier di fronte alla struttura.

Come donna e artista si è sempre male adattata agli schemi sociali, soprattutto in un paese tanto conservatore e contraddittorio come il Giappone. Nel suo percorso di sfida di genere nell’arte, non ha mai rinunciato a combattere le sue fobie, come quella per il sesso instillatale dai genitori, realizzando performance uniche su corpi di donne e uomini nudi.

Il 1993 ha rappresentato la data della sua vera rinascita, il suo lavoro è stato ospitato alla Biennale di Venezia per la quale ha realizzato un’abbagliante sala degli specchi con inserite delle zucche che sono diventate il suo alter-ego.

Da quel momento in poi, le sue opere sono state esposte nei più importanti musei del mondo come il MoMa di New York, la Tate di Londra e il National Museum of Modern Art di Tokyo.

Il grande pubblico ha iniziato a conoscerla grazie alla collaborazione con Peter Gabriel per il videoclip del brano Lovetown del 1994, in cui evidenzia tutte le sue ossessioni: pois, reticolati, cibo e sesso.

Nel 2012, grazie a Marc Jacobs, direttore artistico di Louis Vuitton, è iniziata una importante collaborazione con la maison francese per cui ha creato numerosi capi di abbigliamento, accessori, borse e scarpe che riportano gli ossessivi pois molto grandi e colorati oltre alle zucche e i nervi biomorfici, altri elementi caratteristici della sua arte.

Nel 2017 è stato inaugurato il Yayoi Kusama Museum di Tokyo, cinque piani che accolgono una collezione permanente, collezioni temporanee e le sue installazioni immersive.

Nel 2018, il regista Heather Lenz, ha realizzato il documentario Kusama Infinity, che mostra il percorso tortuoso della grande artista dallo spirito fragile, la cui costante è una sensazione di enorme solitudine.

Bisogna scavare nel suo passato remoto per trovare la chiave interpretativa del suo percorso artistico. Fin da piccola, soffriva di disturbi ossessivo-compulsivi e allucinazioni plurime, dovute a perpetrate violenze domestiche.

Yayoi Kusama ricrea, attraverso l’arte, le sue visioni come mezzo per dominarle, convertendo questa proliferazione minacciosa in una via di salvezza e fuga verso un’entropia liberatoria.

Pois e fiori giganti, reti, protuberanze molli e forme falliche. La riproduzione, moltiplicazione e aggregazione ossessiva di questo ristretto vocabolario di forme è la firma stilistica delle sue opere.

Sempre in bilico tra due estremi, ci parla del cosmo, dei pois, che riportano alla natura universale delle sue visioni allucinate e ripetitive, e poi, come se si staccasse dal suo corpo, si osserva dall’esterno e sente tutta la concretezza dell’ambiente sociale in cui è immersa.

"De Visu" è disco jazz di brani inediti, in guitar trio, del chitarrista catanese Sergio Casabianca. Insieme a lui completano la formazione Riccardo Grosso al contrabbasso e Peppe Tringali alla batteria. Il taglio delle composizioni originali di Casabianca varia dal semplice al ricercato passando dal sound soft di ballad eteree e sentimentali come "Sire", "Birds of San Marco" e "Fondamenta Nuove", ad un jazz post-bop dal tono sia dissacrante e diretto, che introspettivo e riflessivo, come in Dreams in a Spiral, Raining in My House e De Visu. Non mancano riferimenti chiari all'interesse ed il piacere per il feel ritmico del funk come in "Desk of Love" e la stessa "Milo Crew". Casabianca usa una chitarra archtop a cassa larga, dal suono caldo e legnoso - tipico del jazz - talvolta miscelando questo timbro a sonorità, effetti e stilemi decisamente moderni.

Spiega l'artista sul nuovo album: "L'uscita di questo mio disco ha sicuramente una notevole importanza per me. De visu è un punto di partenza, un lavoro in cui ho voluto raccogliere materiale musicale di diversa natura, senza lasciare nulla da parte, per cercare di condividere le mie note, le mie necessità artistiche e la mia creatività con colleghi ed ascoltatori. E', come detto, il punto di partenza da cui si diramano diverse strade per il futuro. La mia mappa musicale è in continuo aggiornamento".

Biografia

Sergio Casabianca è un chitarrista jazz italiano, nato a Catania nel 1990. Vive in Sicilia dove si occupa di didattica, produzione musicale e divulgazione in ambito di chitarra jazz e moderna. Nel 2023 ha pubblicato il suo ultimo disco "De Visu", edito da TRP Music, che ha ricevuto numerosi consensi dalla critica e segnalazioni su riviste specializzate italiane ed estere come Musica Jazz, Jazzit, Jazz Guitar Today ed altre ancora. E' stato finalista di concorsi internazionali come il "Premio Massimo Urbani" ed il "Baku Jazz Competition". Nel 2017 ha pubblicato il suo primo disco da leader, in quartetto, dal titolo "Out of Cage", incentrato sulla rielaborazione della musica del grande Charlie Parker. E' stato Artist- Exhibitor della Wambooka presso il NAMM 2020 a Los Angeles ed Artist Dogal Strings. E' autore di vari articoli per il rinomato blog Guitarprof.it, ai primi posti in Italia, in cui si occupa di chitarra jazz, improvvisazione, trascrizioni, tecnica e storia della chitarra jazz. Dal 2024 collabora stabilmente con AMG - Alessio Menconi Guitar Institute come insegnante. Ha all'attivo 2 dischi da leader e diversi lavori da sideman, come il disco di conduction sperimentale "Another Way For Meditation", d Francesco Cusa e "Glenn Miller Story" con la HJO Jazz Orchestra. Ha collaborato, in ambito jazz e di musica cantautorale con musicisti e progetti del calibro di Francesco Cusa, Giuseppe Urso, Carlo Cattano, Paolo Sorge, Archinuè, HJO Jazz Orchestra, Federico Saccà, Peppe Tringali, Emanuele Primavera, CESM Jazz Orchestra. Ha curato la sua formazione nei conservatori di Catania, Venezia e Palermo. Diplomato prima in Chitarra Jazz presso il Conservatorio "Bellini" di Catania nel 2015, consegue poi il Diploma di Biennio Specialistico in Chitarra Jazz presso il Conservatorio "Alessandro Scarlatti" di Palermo con una tesi compositiva (concerto in 5 movimenti) per chitarra elettrica ed orchestra jazz dal titolo "Making Love To Universe" con il massimo dei voti e la menzione d'onore. Si è esibito in concerto in festival e rassegne come "Zafferana Jazz Festival 2020", in calendario insieme a Matteo Mancuso, Omar Sosa e Kurt Rosenwinkel; "Baku Jazz Festival"(Azerbaijan), "Battiati Jazz Green Festival", "Catania Jazz Marhaton", "ISMEZ MUSIC LIVE 2017" - Casa del Jazz, Roma e altri ancora.

Roberto Floreani (Venezia, 1956), artista, scrittore e performer, inizia l’attività pittorica nel 1981, dopo la laurea presso l’Università di Padova.

Dal 1985, ha tenuto più di ottanta mostre personali, di cui oltre venti in spazi museali, in Italia e all’Estero, tra cui quelle alle Gallerie Civiche di Como e Ravenna e al Muzejski Prostor di Zagabria (’94-95); alla Galleria del Credito Valtellinese-Le Stelline di Milano (’99); ai Musei di Stato di San Marino (2001); al Museo Revoltella di Trieste (2003); a Palazzo Ducale (Mn), al Kunstverein di Aschaffenburg, allo Städtisches Museum di Gelsenkirchen e alla Mestna Galerija di Lubiana (2007-2008); al Museo MaGa di Gallarate (2011); al Centro Internazionale di Palazzo Te (Mn, 2013); al Palazzo della Gran Guardia (Vr, 2014); ai Musei Civici di Padova, nel 2017.
