Sometimes I think of how Village was Ethan's worst day of his life (heh ... life) bc of the stuff you mentioned; in ONE day he: is betrayed by protector+friend > sees wife get shot to death > kidnapped along w kid > stranded in weird as fck place > only allies die in front of him and is upset by their loss > cryptic merchant is cryptic, yet like the villagers and the hag is the only one not to lay a hand on him, so he listens to merchant > gets impaled w extreme prjudice by magneto cousin > dragged into meeting about how best to torture him > death gauntlet > hooked/dragged/cut into/hooked again/behanded/mauled by dragon > kills dragon > finds out his 6mo baby was dismembered and given to 4 lords > varcolac > H Beneviento > Moreau's place > catches chris keep being an unhelpful asshole > gets led to lycan nest and all that implies > sees Rose's vision of the lords reaching for her w malicious intent via moldstagram ig > impaler has the gall to try and coerce him into helping kill MM (Ethan was listening, he lowered his gun... until 'use Rose' was said, heise you dumbass) > is thrown to monster > chris is 5% less asshole and half ass explanation is given, still hits him and manhandles him like a ragdoll > fights monster Heise > gets heart ripped out > finds out in the worst way he's moldy and falling apart > fights+kills MM > FINALLY gets to hold Rose > for 1.5 seconds > starts falling to pieces > leaves Rose w chris in hopes she'll have a safer life (yeah ... about that, honey...) > knowing he'll never see her grow up, but his exhausted mold body just can't take it anymore, he tearfully presses the detonator > end. (my physical+emotional mauling whump heart is content and in pieces in equal measure <3 ) contrast with how it's Heisenberg's BEST day of his life since MM deceived him into serving her: EVERYTHING is going according to his plan > he has his soldats all in working order and in giant numbers > has intel about p much everything dulvey+Ethan+fam+bsaa related > MM seems to suspect nothing > Ethan steamrolls through the only ones that might give him trouble and or try to stop his rebellion, his loyal to MM siblings, so less work for him > has a lot of fun tauting and leading and moving Ethan as he pleased > rebellion was going to happen w or w/o Ethan so chair close to vent in case 'no' to his kind offer of using his dismembered baby to off MM or get thrown to sturm after his poor me info dump > 'no' happened, but it was always a known and calculated 50/50 so woop down you go, he didn't give a f if ethan died to sturm, it was rebellion time! > rebellion start! > and end bc byebye soldats > shrugs it off even if pissed > (and only here his day goes to sht) fights Eth > dies.

it was also Miranda's best day since 1919 and losing Eva, some mishaps sure but overall still absolutely doable, pesky organizations and father not letting her bring back her 10yr old through a baby aside, the kid was passing all tests w flying colours to be a vessel, Ethan clearing out her failed experiments and energizing the fungus made everything easier... then Rose did her thing at the end and Ethan managed to take MM out. I remember saying I'd make my asks shorter... i couldn't ;_; many feelings about Ethan <3

Dude this message(s) made my morning, so don't ever think about making them shorter! I especially laughed out loud at "moldstagram" 🤣🤣 Also "in case 'no' to his kind offer of using his dismembered baby to off MM or get thrown to sturm after his poor me info dump" I mean lol but this is exactly what happened too 🤣 as much as the story is heartbreaking, I live for funny recaps like this.

And yeah while Ethan was definitely out there having the Worst Day Of His "Life" 2: Electric Boogaloo, Heisenberg was twiddling his thumbs, enjoying the sight of Ethan destroying the obstacles Heisenberg would need to overcome for his rebellion, without knowing that Miranda was perfectly aware of Heisenberg's rebellion plan and was also twiddling her thumbs, enjoying the sight of Ethan destroying her fake children and waiting for him to kill Heisenberg as well.

You know, I'm thinking... in a way, Miranda knew how dedicated Ethan was to save his daughter. She probably felt it was similar to what she felt for her daughter. So when she attacked the van Ethan and Rose were in and took Rose, she probably looked at unconscious Ethan and was like "Imma let him live. At worst, he'll get killed off by the lycans. At best, he'll get rid of my fake children and awaken the gLoRiOus MeGamYceTe all to save his daughter, so he'll save me some trouble too."

I also love how us whumpers are both Yas Ethan Get Rekt and ETHAN NOOOOO T_T T_T T_T at the same time during this whole thing. They really did know how to satisfy us and how to break our hearts in one go. ALSO ALSO as much as I understand Chris trying to balance between being a professional, finishing the mission and protecting Ethan, the way he first treats him at Heisenberg's factory drives me MAD. He just grabs Ethan, punches him, kicks him down, and then berates him like, BRO. Homeboy was just trying to save his daughter! Why you gotta be such an ass to him??

And like, how much it breaks my heart that he barely got to hold Rose T_T he was already exhausted by everything, including his fight with Miranda, and he hadn't held his baby whole since the previous night, before watching his "wife" get murdered and her getting kidnapped, and when he finally holds her in his arms, he starts calcifying and his legs give up on him T_T and all he can do is hope Chris will provide her with a safe life (and we saw how that went T_T) and that Rose and Mia will be happy without him T_T Like seriously there are tragic endings and then there's endings that rip out your heart and squeeze

the blood out of it for good measure.
