Shattered Reality Theory?

Hi yes hello. I’m about to go autism hyper fixation mode let’s go

I call it that as if it’s a well known theory BUT ITS nOt bc I haven’t shared it yet

So basically this theory explains a lot of continuity errors and contradictions and the faulty way the VT world works Imo. (Which irl is only like that bc the irl creators didn’t keep track of everything but that’s fine) But basically what I believe/vibe I get is that the main dimension where all the main event happens is a larger fragment of a reality that’s now shattered. And other dimensions like the 13th Dimension like the Anti-challas for example (and the hundreds of other numbered dimensions 😭) are other shards of that reality. So basically the whole thing is barely functioning.

And also, it might not have a proper after life or “ghost dimension” … or “veil” and that’s why ghosts are so common and capable of ridiculous things??

Also an alternative minor theory attached to this one is that sometimes the reason that characters come back from the dead is because there’s no space for like more souls in the afterlife(?) or where ever ghosts are supposed to go. But also I’m kinda iffy on that one.

Basically the VT world(s) is like a broken world- similar vibe to when a planet is thrown out of orbit.

Funny enough though is that in the VT 5 year anniversary stream Johnny Ghost from the future/Alt time line tries warning Present Day P.I.E. (Ghost was retired at the time) that they need to get their Ghost to rejoin P.I.E. Because in future Ghost’s future Housekeeper “shatters reality.” But that implies it hasn’t happened but will- so idk but genuinely is a fascinating coincidence (there’s SO MUCH lore in that stream btw bahsjd)

I do believe that the Divine One (a canon deity made of 13 beings that also created Housekeeper) may have tried fixing or adopted their shattered reality?? And maybe housekeeper got mad and/or jealous and started causing problems idk tbh 😭

Also another part of how i picture this broken world is that sometimes it tries to fix itself (either that or it’s the divine one) so it’ll like repeat events and it’ll change what happened (which would explain certain contradictions. Example: Ghost originally being afraid of birds. Then way later Ghost is completely unphased by birds but Toast is terrified of them?? That happened in an anniversary stream too but it was either year 3 or 4)

Basically a bunch of cosmic horror / reality stuff 😭

(I picture it a lot like a dirty/scratched/broken CD that’s bouncing around, replaying or stuttering or skipping around in the cd player kinda lol but also it’s floating through space deeper and deeper into the void while grabbing the attention of interdimensional higher beings that see it as a cool toy)

Also Acalacams (if you know what those are) kinda tie into this as well as the Divine One but I’ll get to that later

This is also my personal headcanon but I’m curious to see what others think :3

A great big spiel of Timothy Casket theories—

I love how the combination of Johnny Ghost being an unreliable source for anything from his childhood and the original Cardboard Friend video having a million contradictions about Gregory allows us to come up with basically any theory and have at least one canon statement that lines up.

Example: Johnny Ghost claims his father died before he was born and he lived alone with his mother, but Gregory claimed both of his parents left him (and then his grandparents). So you could headcanon pretty much anything about them. I want to explore the possibility of Timothy Casket being alive, at least until Gregory met Box Friend.

For the most part, the fandom agrees Timothy Casket was a bad person, probably with very dark secrets, and if he actually were alive after Gregory was born, he was also a bad parent. The kind of bad parent you might have dissociated from and forgot they existed.

I see some headcanons that he would have been neglectful and cold outside of providing financially, and a cosplay where Ghost does remember his father hazily and deeply resents him. Timothy Casket is probably the reason why a demon like Cardboard Friend was drawn to the house where Gregory was left alone, I’ll elaborate on that in a bit.

I think Gregory’s parents separated, and he was sent back and forth from his mom’s to live with his dad sometimes because his mom wasn’t as financially stable. I think he grew up a little bit poor without his father’s income (after Timothy Casket either dies or abandons the family), as much as Johnny Ghost denies it.

His dad would leave him alone for days at a time, and the house had so much negative energy that it was a beacon for demonic forces which brought along Cardboard Friend. I also think demons are drawn to vulnerable people, such as neglected / mentally unstable children like Gregory.

I think Jimmy Casket is a product of both Timothy being either neglectful or straight up evil and CF driving Gregory crazy on purpose, except it worked way too well and now Jimmy Casket is a paranormal entity manifested by them that CF is terrified of.

I would love to see a fic of PIE investigating a haunted place, and when they see the ghost, it’s an older man with dark eyes, silver hair, a black coat and umbrella, and calls Ghost “Greg.” oooooooooo spooky oogoolaboogaloo

This is not coherent at all but we have (slightly weak) evidence that jimmy casket that is passed down from parent to child (tommy to gregory/ghost) in the casket family. When tommy died, he gave jimmy to ghost. Jimmy has possessed and/or impersonated (implying they look similar) princeton quagmire. Mayhaps. Quagmire is related to Johnny Ghost ? Yes. 👍

One thing I’ve never seen discussed is whether or not the unicorns in VT lore are actual unicorns or something else. Like, is Stardust Sprinkleshine an actual unicorn, or is he an entity that possesses people and claims to be a unicorn? Jordan and the crew have never really specified, so I assume it could go either way.

Hey I’m not the Theory Machine for nothing! Let’s look into this.

We know that there are unicorns plural because of the appeances of Sparkly Puddleshine and Tumblerina or whatever her name was- all in all there are three unicorns we’ve seen, so we know it’s not just a single entity. We also know they have two forms of appearance; skittles consumption and interaction with the Floating Gun of the Aztecs. That does imply that... Yeah. Possession.

I suspect that yes, these creatures ARE unicorns, but unicorns in venturiantale are something entirely different creatures than the unicorns we know in our reality. As in they’re whimsical to the point of insanity and protective to the point of dangerous. And also a possessive creature.

Or perhaps it is not a unicorn. Or possession. But rather a state of mind brought about through rumors and shared information. Like a very common kind of drug trip or something. No idea what the Aztec gun would do with anything here though. this is the least likely to be accurate.

Let’s look into the Floating Gun of the Aztecs. The Aztecs were known for having a pantheon of gods who need blood to survive and continue doing their jobs. Also having a VERY violent pantheon, focusing more on the life being taken away part of mother nature than the life being given part. Its possible they aren’t unicorns at all, but rather a forgotten Aztec mythical monster in the canon of the universe, renamed and out for blood.

There’s also the possibility that there’s a curse of sort on the gun and the people who exit by something from the Aztecs. The Aztecs had a mythical creature called the Managua; shapeshifting witches who can take the abilities of those they transform into. Perhaps a few transformed into unicorns and used some other kind of magic to capture their consciousness into a weapon brought by the Spaniards during the Spanish invasion on the Aztecs, and then sent the weapon to appear wherever it would wreak the most havoc on them all. Originally made to cause chaos in the ranks of the Spanish, now traveling wherever to cause mischief with no one to free them from their prison. After years of this they’ve slowly grown a tad insane.

Finally, it could be meta. Like the unicorns warp space and stuff and ARE representatives of the siblings that play them in that universe. Like anyone being played by Jordan who touches the gun will be Stardust, and anyone played by Isaac with by Sparkly, and the people not played by anyone will not only feel no attraction to the weapon, but even if they do touch it will be unaffected and so on. To the people in-universe, there is no correlation and it doesn’t make sense.

Cool, here we go 👀 LONG POST! Sorry about that 😔

So, let’s start with Jimmy so we don’t get sidetracked later (I’m not very good at finding a good flow so please bear with me :’) )

Me and my friend kinda came up with a thing that Jimmy was some sort of demon parasite/infestation that’s caused by Box Thing. Mostly to help the kid or whoever go crazier faster (I imagine Gregory wasn’t the first kid, there’d been others before him but he was basically the one that got away). Jimmy presents himself as a friend, similar to Cardboard, and slowly gets more deranged as he chips away at whoever’s sanity. (There’s a bit more to that but I might get into it at a different time)

Now, enter Gregory Casket, pure baby who needs to be loved. I imagine that despite being mentioned as being a police officer, Mr. Timothy Casket wasn’t a very good dad, bordering abusive. This left Gregory feeling alone and scared, so he built himself a friend. That pile of boxes just happens to get infested with a demon and gains Gregory’s trust. Timothy dies or leaves, it’s not too important, and MamaCasket is left with her son and his imaginary friend.

Now this is where things could go either way for me, either Box gets rid of MamaCasket o r, MamaCasket moves her and her son to a new house and Box lures Gregory back. We’ll go with the latter, but the previous is good too. So, Mother decides to pack up and move, taking her son with her. Gregory has to leave his friend, which he’s heartbroken about. Box somehow gets Gregory back to the house, made a plan with him for him to run away or lured him back, but either way Gregory runs away back to the childhood house, the big mansion place. (He’s probably around 7 or 8 at this time)

It’s unclear how long he’s there. Weeks, months, maybe even up to a year. Either way, Cardboard is doing his demon thing and eventually introduces Jimmy, a new friend that will be able to stay with Gregory better than Box can. Box starts to get more intense, trying to speed things up. Gregory starts to get frightened and eventually runs away, unable to take it anymore. Jimmy is forced to tag along.

Gregory is found a couple days later, dazed and confused, likely not doing great physically or mentally. Based on which ending for MamaCasket you liked from above, he’s either put into a foster system and adopted into the Ghost family or his mother is found and he’s returned to her after she has remarried. (Likely after being in an institution to improve his health for a period of time btw)

He’s still pretty mentally confused and the things that happened mixed with the demon in his head splits his personality. The name Gregory now has some trauma behind it so he basically ditches the name and shoves that all to the back of his mind, for lack of better term-

He starts going to school and meets Toast, and the rest is history (besides some other stuff and Katrina stuff, but this is already long). And now he has a list of mental and emotional issues

VT Things I’m Always Wondering About:

Did Toast and his late wife (Mary) ever have or plan on having kids? Think about it, her death wasn’t planned, they just wanted to have some fun that night and Johnny accidentally killed her. Did they have a young child? Were they planning on having a kid? Was she pregnant? The world may never know seeing as how Toast doesn’t really like talking about a lot of his past, mostly that era of his life (married life) .

Ok I changed my mind this is a theory post now !!!

Toast never mentions his wife, Ghost only brought it up to explain something.

We all know that Toasts life is actually pretty terrible. He has alcohol and drug addiction problems probably because of the death of his wife.

So if he turned to alcohol (and maybe drugs, but that was probably later) soon after his wife’s passing, he might not have many memories of what happened during that period of time.

so if he had a small child (let’s say, a son around 2 or 3 y/o) surely he would remember him, right? Well maybe not. If you neglect your child DCFS/CPS can take your child from you. Do you see where I’m going with this?

So his son was probably taken away from him, to a better suited place where someone will actually take care of him.

Now, being that they are lifelong best friends, Ghost probably knows about Toast’s son. He probably remembers his birthday, babysitting him, and all the times he probably helped him while Johnny was drunk.

What if Ghost was babysitting the night of Mary’s passing? What if Toast paid Ghost with $200 instead of $20? What if Ghost has to ask his best friend what was wrong the next day only over the phone to find out that his best friend’s soulmate had died? Just imagine the call:

Ghost: hey buddy, everything alright? You seemed a little out of it last night. You paid me with two hundreds instead of two tens.

Toast: sorry man, in all honestly, I am terrified. I was so set on what happened I could barely function.

Ghost: what happened?

Toast: Mary is dead. And I killed her.

Ghost: wha-what?! Why would you kill her?! She was like, your one true love!!! You guys have a kid!!

Toast: it wasn’t on purpose, it was british disco, a thing I can’t control. if I hadn’t fallen for an American this wouldn’t’ve happened. (What am I doing, making this all about her, it’s all your fault you dick!)

Ghost: Johnny, it’s not your fault. You two were like soulmates, meant to be. Just like you said, you can’t control British Disco, it just happens. now go take care of your kid, just tell me when her funeral is.

Imagine the crying from both of them after the other hung up.

Obviously Toast still remembered his kid, at first. But later he would just get blackout drunk and completely forget what he was doing and rinse and repeat, to the point where he was always drinking, he wasn’t sober for years.

so this kid is neglected, living in his own filth, powerless to help himself.

when Ghost heard his best friend’s kid was being taken away, he knew something was terribly wrong, but he didn’t know what to do. Ghost had a serious connection with this little boy. He loved him as if he was his own son, not just his godson (yes Ghost is his Godfather).

Imagine every year remembering your godson’s birthday but not wanting to say a word to his father out of fear he might start drinking heavily again, or that he might have a PTSD episode.

sorry that this is so dark it just makes sense to me, you know? Like there’s so much we don’t know about that time in Toast’s life and no one ever really talks about it.

Did any one else piece together that Johnny Ghost was probably adopted. Since, ya know, he started out as Gregory Casket, then ended up in an abandoned mansion with a ghost alone in the middle of nowhere. To his name “suddenly” being Johnny Ghost?

Also the multiple dad thing. I assumed the ones named Johnathan Ghost were made up in his imagination since it sounds like Peewee died when Ghost was young. Though it could be like, his different dads that he had going through the system for a bit before Peewee (who he inherited the McDonald’s from.)

(Thoughhh Some people like to think he had like multiple dads at once. At least two. Which is cute. Not my headcanon but I wanted to acknowledge it since it’s a valid take <3 )

Not much is spoken about his mothers or if he had more than one. I just know at least one of his mothers was shit. (Johnny Ghost UN-retirement video lol)

Got a little off topic but that’s the vibe I’ve gotten. If that’s not what others think I’m genuinely curious to see what you think happened instead? Bc I can’t see it any other way wheeze 😭

More Jimmy (summary at end)

Be warned I’m thinking through this as I write it so it may not be coherent, it’s more of I’m writing down my thoughts about how the transition from Johnny to Jimmy works

Scroll to the end for a summary, I understand not being able to read big things, tbh if I saw this on my dash I’d skip right past it

We know that Ghost and Jimmy are definitely two separate people- unlike Johnny and Gregory. Jordan said so himself. And he can’t be a ghost, otherwise Johnny would be setting off their equipment all the time. Unless! he is only with Ghost from time-to-time. We only know of a few occasions in which we have, without a doubt, Johnny-Jimmy (as opposed to the murder videos, where it’s plausible this is happening separate to Johnny’s body) And in all those instances he’s never really been in a situation where anyone’s pointed some ghost detector at him.

That being said, in The Return (presumably)Jimmy says “I’m free, Johnny” implying that he was somehow trapped in Ghost’s body, mind, or otherwise. It’s possible that he was trapped in the afterlife, and Johnny was his key out, he could only get through by this poor kid’s mind.

Johnny has been seeing that manifestation of Jimmy since he was a child, it went away after he saw some people, (really it just lessened, Johnny mentions he still saw him on occasion) but came back at the time of this video. Now we don’t know when exactly this video was set, it could have been before or after the Mystery Shack videos, I vouch for before, simply a preference. Either way, there are two occurrences where Jimmy was “disconnected” from Ghost. Still, the “I’m free” may not have been a “I’m a separate entity” it could just be “I have control” But in the case that it’s not, I’d like to believe that the spirit of Jimmy Casket, whether that be ghost or demon or other, separated from Johnny at this time and went to roam the world, maybe with a new host, maybe with his own body, maybe he just visited his tomb and hung around, maybe he chilled with my newfound son Gavin, who knows.

Back to my original point- Johnny and Jimmy are two very different people, which raises the question, in that “transitionary stage” why does it seem like Johnny, simply acting like Jimmy? We know how Jimmy acts (murder videos) and we know that Johnny has completely switched (Batman Horror map) But, the inbetween stage, just seems to be Johnny scared or confronted, lashing out on impulse in a stressful situation- particularly when his past is mentioned. Could it be Jimmy simply fading into power, he can’t quite take over the mind so he puts in little quirks and impulses, He lets Johnny do it on his own accord. Similarly, in the Batman video mentioned earlier, Johnny is still referring to himself as Johnny Ghost when he is turning, and based on his voice he seems to have fully switched, so it’s almost as if it’s Jimmy referring to himself as Ghost. But that makes no sense, why would Jimmy do that? And in the Underground horror map he’s clearly losing a hold, at at the very end switches. He goes from “Do you want to know his secret?” to “do you want to know my secret?” With almost no indication. In addition, many times after this video Johnny has straight up asked who Casket is, he has no memory of the man (Batman map) in The Return he doesn’t know who the person he’s seeing is, but in The Underground he knows exactly who Jimmy is and walks to him- also! in one of the FNAF 2 map videos he knows who Jimmy is, and is freaking out about him. He not only calls balloon boy Jimmy, but adds Casket on the end- he knows who Jimmy is, whether that be some person he sees, or the actual murderer. Yet in the second gravity falls video, he has no clue. I don’t know, I think I’m done typing this out for now...

Summary

Johnny Ghost and Jimmy Casket are separate people, DID is ruled out, Jordan said so

In The Return Jimmy considers himself “free” implying that he was trapped before, and what happened with Ghost released him in some way, whether that be “I am a separate entity” or “I have control”

Johnny at some point knew who Jimmy was, and at another did not, these videos may or may not have been in order

The transition between Johnny and Jimmy is very VERY blurry, at times it is clearly Jimmy, other times it seems to be Ghost acting like Jimmy (still identifying himself as Johnny Ghost)
