i rarely talk about them on here but in my analysis of the text, sweet cap'n cakes are very important characters. just as characters like the dog guard, napstablook, and monster kid help to characterize and endear an audience to the world of undertale and make us sympathetic to the monsters' plight, so too do characters like sweet cap'n cakes, c. and k. round, and tasque manager help to characterize and endear an audience to the dark world and the plight of the darkners! they're meant to be fun, endearing, and likable, and moreover, they're meant to make the dark world feel like a living and breathing world with people in it that the audience should be concerned with.

Controversial Opinion Alert: I am a huge advocate for this new wave of sincere western animated shows aimed at older audiences that we're finally seeing, giving creators more freedom to tell these fun sweeping serialized stories without the restrictions placed on children's television or the toilet-humour expectations of "adult animation." BUT some of these creators really need to stop overcorrecting by adding jarring & unnecessary amounts of blood and gore to scenes they previously would've animated just fine without it. Like, more graphic depictions of injury is good when used well, but having bright blood appear with every minor scratch or scrape just kind of looks bad and bland.

I don't know you and it's not cool to say that stuff to a stranger. Is the frosting something I'm not entirely happy with? Yes. Is it okay to call my cake a "horror beyond comprehension" and "thicker than a brick and just as dense"? No. I put a lot of care and effort into this and it really hurt being insulted about it.

First time making a carrot cake from scratch, and its one im being paid to make 🥴 hope i didnt fuck it up. The recipe just said grated carrots, so i grated them, but it looked odd, so i googled and the pictures are of Shredded carrots. Shredded. So like. I hope it doesnt make too much of a difference.

Im decorating it tomorrow and thats the fun bit. She gave me free reign except she requested fall colors. Im gonna leave it mainly a cream/tan color, with dark red, yellow/orange, and brown piping on the top and bottom.

Im thinking of doing plain piping on top, the putting dollops of frosting on the bottom edge and kind of swiping? Pulling? Them up. I think itll be a cool effect.
