figured out a more precise way of wording why exactly i hate transmascs making jokes right now:

i know damn well you still use the women’s bathrooms - because i do too. they’re infinitely cleaner, smell better, and have cubicles we need to use vs the men’s having one or two.

women’s bathrooms are safer for trans women, not to mention also better to use. anatomy changes with estrogen, meaning using a urinal may not be as easy as it used to be - and, again, cubicle superiority.

so, instead of saying “hey transfems, we’re classed as women now, we’ll defend you in the toilets, you can come with us, we’ll keep you safe, solidarity forever!” you say: “haha! isn’t it funny i’m considered a woman now? how ridiculous! i have a beard! i have a deep voice! i don’t have boobs!” etc. etc.

and when i tell you this is insensitive, when i say this isn’t the time and it isn’t about us, when i say that in these very words you are calling many trans women un-feminine, you say:

“don’t you know they’ll come for us too? don’t you know how stressful this is? don’t you have any solidarity for trans people? an attack against trans women is an attack against everyone (and that’s why i care)!!”

that’s what irritates me. that’s what i hate. this isn’t solidarity - this is a quick way to pat yourself on the back for how masculine you think you are and how your “radical queer joy” dunks on the transphobes who clearly must just be stupid - can’t they hear my deep voice? how could i ever be a woman?

they smiled and looked at each other for a moment, a glint in their eye

literally nowhere did i say transmascs don’t experience any problems at all. and also we SHOULD be defenders bc we have a duty to other ppl in our community to protect each other. i’m not saying this because we’re men - i’m saying this because we are part of a fucking community and if we want to be part of that community we need to act like it. it can’t be all take and no give.

bumping my kofi as my money situation took a bit of a hit this month with a lot of high fatigue days meaning i had to spend a lot more on unnecessary costs than i wanted - mutuals are welcome to ask for uncoloured comms and i’ll send my rates, with my current schedule and energy level i don’t feel confident fully opening them up :’)

thought i’d make a new post that’s up to date!! student housing likes to fuck ppl over so i’m having to fork out money for rent without having my money from student loan for this year which is. gonna be a lil tricky to handle!! my wages and shifts aren’t consistent and are given on a first come first serve basis which also has to work around when i’m in the city in the first place.

i’d rlly appreciate any donations to help out!! i’m gonna see if i can set up a way to pay the rent due at the start of september a little later so i have loan money but that may not be possible - even if it is some help would rlly be nice so i don’t have to stress abt spending on groceries

washing and drying bedding is such an absolutely horrific task bc ur without ur bed for a day and have to find a reason to be away from ur bed for a day (difficult for me, a fatigued man that loves to lay down) but it’s so rewarding when u get that first sleep….

i want to already preface this by saying that i have absolutely zero faith in cis people so i’m not even talking to you but if you’re listening that’s lovely ok.

but it is mind-numbingly infuriating seeing ONLY NOW is anyone other than affected transfems speak out about the shitty treatment they get. and i’m not even talking specifically about tumblr i’m talking just. in general. how long until you all go back to ur circle of friends being only other afab trans people and you somehow just don’t happen to hang out with transfems. how long until you go back to throwing around dude and bro and guys and tucking tail when someone politely asks you to stop. how long until you go back to “trans solidarity!! why should we fight?? we should be having sloppy t4t sex!!!!” i am so sick of it. you all already should’ve been protecting transfems but i don’t wanna see anyone going back!! no more believing callouts at first look. no more blindly trusting anons. no more mockery no more “eh.. kinda has a weird vibe… i don’t like THEIR url their interests their Energy”

take your transfems out to lunch. if you can, maybe cover some costs for her. does she wanna try out wearing bralettes or makeup but is nervous about wasting money if she doesn’t like it? do it for her. let her borrow some of yours. if your sizes line up, give her some clothes you never reach for. if you don’t know any transfems, maybe think about why. are you just sorta a shut-in? understandable! donate to a gal’s transition fund, send someone a nice ask about their art or their transition timeline or ask about something they like. get involved with local trans groups if you can and there are any!

i love art school but the bad thing about art school is i’ve been studying the same thing for three years and now that i’m at the stage where it’s like ok lets make a finished product now to conclude my studies. my brain’s already jumped to the next thing. the circle of life is that i left illustration during my first semester to study comics instead and now i wanna go back and do illustration for my masters degree lmao
