The roofs of the city were Shinsou’s second home. He sat on the ledge of a building and watched people mill about below as he ate his lunch. Patrol had been a drag and he was itching to wrap up and get home.
Maybe he could convince Sho to forgo their meal prep for the night and order pizza. The thought of winding up his boyfriend about his meticulous diet made him chuckle to himself.
Just as he closed his lunch box and shook crumbs from his lap a shrill scream rang out below him.
“My purse! That brat took my purse!”
Shinsou groaned. A purse snatching wasn’t exactly exhilarating but it was better than sitting around doing nothing. He unfurled his capture weapon and offered the woman a wave before flying after the thief.
“Hey! Stop!” He called but the kid either didn’t hear or just ignored him as he ducked and dived through the shadows. Shinsou moved along the rooftops with ease. The kid was about to take a corner that would slow him. He threw his capture weapon so that he could swing around and cut him off but the flimsy sheet metal underneath his foot gave way.
The fall felt absurdly long as he watched sunlight flow into the dingy warehouse he tried to wrangle his capture weapon to grab a beam. He caught one but still hit the ground with a resounding thud. Dust clouded his vision as he spluttered and tried to find his feet.
“Fucking kid,” He grumbled. The warehouse was dark and smelled like mold. The only light came from the hole he’d just fallen through. Just as he was dusting himself off he realized he could hear voices in a room nearby. He followed the sound as silent as a cat.
A gap in the door gave him a clear view of what looked like a drug deal.
“Oh shit.”
He was about to back off and radio for backup When a large hand squeezed his shoulder.
“Don’t move, Hero.”
Shinsou sighed, “Fuck. I suppose you got me, huh?”
“Damn rig-”
The man’s mind was muddy, likely from years of drug use but he managed a firm grip on his consciousness.
“What am I looking at here, Big Guy?” He asked.
“Weapons deal,” He responded robotically.
“Weapons,” That was genuinely surprising, “Who uses weapons anymore?”
“Gangs. Real mob stuff.”
“Hey, Rilo! What the fuck are you-”
The door swung open. Before Shinsou could react the butt of a gun knocked him out.
When he woke he was cuffed to a pipe. The woman who’d pistol-whipped him and Rilo were arguing.
“He almost threw the whole fucking deal, Rilo!”
“How the hell was I supposed to know he had a brainwashing quirk?”
“Hey assholes,” Shinsou spat dried blood from his mouth, “Back up will be here any minute.”
“I don’t think they will,” The woman laughed.
Shinsou tried to take a hold of her mind and she laughed again, “Cuffs are quirk canceling, Doll.”
“I don’t need a quirk to take you, idiots, out,” He grinned up at them. He wanted to annoy them, make them angry. Angry people slip up.
Rilo swung and the punch felt like it might have shattered something in his jaw, he was about to lash out when he heard a familiar voice.
“Touch my boyfriend again and I’ll kill you.”
“Now you’re in for it,” Shinsou leered.
“Your boyfriend? Shit, Boss, I had no idea!”
Shinsou felt as though he’d been punched again.
/Boss/
“Sho?” He twisted so he could face the man he loved.
“Sorry, My Love,” In Todoroki’s defense he did look sorry, “I was going to tell you.”

A monster called “love” Pt. III
Words ~ 4.600
Slightly suggestive, blood, hurt
With his chin resting on his hand he stared coldly at his subordinate shaking like a leave in front of his desk. The room was noisy with silence, no one dared to move a muscle and upset Shoto even more. It had been a simple task, fetching a package from a negotiator downtown, but his inferior still managed to fuck it all up. Maybe it was partly Shoto’s fault, he knew about the short-tempered male but had been certain that the fact the boss himself was sending him on that mission was enough to push his issues aside. Sadly he had been wrong and if the situation hadn’t been bad enough the man dared to come back empty-handed with fresh blood coating his fingers.
Shoto wanted to burn him on the spot for his failure, maybe release some stress by playing around until he was satisfied with the punishment. Yes, that would be nice, he thought but refused to give in to his anger, knowing that if he made a mess now it would only unsettle his pretty snowflake sitting on the edge of his desk.
He knew that something was off with you lately, judging by the way you were quieter and more reluctant than usual and so he happily let you stay with him whenever you desired, enjoying your calming presence on stressful days like this. Silently you had grown into his haven of tranquility, your presence alone was enough to soothe the burning rage within him. And so, as he felt his anger boiling and daring to spill he let his hand travel to your thigh, massaging and drawing shapes to occupy his hand with something else than violence.
He didn’t need to look up to know that his ministrations had you smiling, a cute blush coloring your cheeks in rosy red. If it wasn’t that his staff was still waiting for his next move, he would have considered taking you right here on his desk, worshipping you like the goddess you were for him.
“Chain him up, for now, I’ll deal with him later”, Shoto hissed and with a flick of his hand, the man who had failed him was grabbed by some other of his subordinates and was dragged out of the door. “N-no! NO! Please don’t do this to me! I’ve always been loy…” Shoto felt you flinching when the door was thrown shut, leaving the two of you alone in his office. Patiently he waited until the desperate echoes had vanished, then he let his shoulders drop, leaning back into his seat as he rubbed his aching temples.
If it had just been some money on the line he would have considered mercy, but the delivery was important, a hard drive filled with private data about the top politicians of the country. Even a powerful and feared man like him had to pull a lot of special strings to gather this information and now they seemed to be lost. All the hard work for nothing?! With a growl his fist slammed down on the dark wood, burning the surface as he released some steam.
You jumped at the sudden impact, watching concerned as some small flames flickered on his hair, heating the room at an unsettling pace. It was rare for him to lash out like this when you were alone and you understood that the delivery must have been very important to draw an impulsive act like this from him. When his brows knitted in anger and you saw the gears rattling behind his mismatched eyes you dropped the papers in your hand, shifting on the table until you were settled in front of him.
Shoto was confused as you pushed his fist from the wood and were suddenly filling his line of sight, a surprise but a pleasant one. “Forgive me, snowflake. I didn’t mean to scare you.” His voice had changed from icy cold to a soft warmth, embracing you like a blanket on a snowy winter night. With a small shake of your head, you cupped his cheek with your palms, thumbs gently caressing his cheeks when you made him look up at you. “It’s fine. But you seem more… angry than usual. Was it such an important delivery?” You asked tracing the edge of his scar that always had him melt into your touch. Only you were allowed to touch the sensitive skin, somehow able to soothe the lingering pain that never seemed to fade away.
He sighed in exhaustion when his forehead collided with your lap, nose brushing over your thighs to inhale your heavenly scent. “Only the most valuable blackmailing material one could ever collect. And now it’s gone because that idiot killed the delivery boy”, his complaint was accompanied by another tired breath. He tried to think who could be sent to retrieve the package, but the recent events had him doubting his staff’s abilities leaving the only solution to go by himself. Shoto wasn’t very keen on this idea, he already had so much work piled on his desk and a row of responsibilities that going on his own would prolong other important meetings. Growling, he aggressively combed through his dual-colored hair, silky white and red strands clenched in his fist.
That’s when he felt your fingers on his chin, slowly pushing upwards until your eyes locked with his. Sudden confidence was written behind your shining irises and he gladly listened to your offer, “Leave it to me. If I go now maybe I can find him before a hero does.”
Shoto was torn between letting you go and the worry what might happen if you left by yourself. It wasn’t that he thought you weren’t able to protect yourself. Hell no, he had experienced firsthand that you were more than capable of fighting and stealthy movements, you had been a top ten hero after all. But the problem was exactly this. Your sudden disappearance had astonished the society, and rumors about you siding with a villain, which was obviously the truth were still spreading like a wildfire which meant that if you were recognized outside your former colleagues wouldn’t let you slip away again.
The times you had been traveling with him Shoto had always made sure to go somewhere secluded, or when he took you out to a restaurant he had bought the whole place for the night as a precaution, but if you went now you would be on your own and he wouldn’t be there to protect you.
His brows furrowed as he considered your offer, but the way his mimic shifted you knew he wasn’t convinced. “I can manage on my own, Shoto”, you tried to reassure him but he wouldn’t have it so simple. “What if someone found you? The heroes would track you down…”, his speech was stopped when you squeezed his mouth shut with your fingers, throwing him a challenging glance as you slipped into his lap and forced him down in his seat. Shoto hastily gulped and tried to withhold an excited groan as you towered over him, hinting at the power you still had.
It was nice to be protected and cared for, but you had never let your guard down, sticking to your training routine to maintain the fitness and strength you had built up over the years as a pro hero. You knew you didn’t need to work out or train your quirk that much, but it felt nice to be prepared, and honestly, it made it easier when you felt the need to remind Shoto that he wasn’t the only one able to make a point. He would always consider you his equal without a doubt, but not all of his men would accept this fact without a little lesson from you. You needed to be strong to survive in the underground world and had more than once proven that you were worthy to share the top with Shoto.
“And here I fought you trusted me”, you pretended to pout and crossed your arms over his chest, pushing him deeper into the chair, “Must I remind you that I’m a big girl?” Your voice was teasingly sweet but Shoto heard the threat loud and clear. It wasn’t often that you displayed your power so openly, but that made the rare moments you took control even more exciting.
His sour mood was fading away and while he was silently convinced that you could handle the job he couldn’t help but prolong this moment a little longer. “Are you really, snowflake? The way I made you scream last night told another story”, his sultry voice breathed into your ear and he traveled his hands up your thighs until they rested on your waist, one hot and the other cold to make you squirm in his hold. Luckily for him, you were already spurred on enough to not let have him his way and you shoved his calloused hands down, leaning closer to him so your lips were dancing over his as you whispered, “My love, I see what you’re doing.” Slowly you let go of his hands and caressed his jaw, fingertips trailing over his sensitive skin as they graced his neck and found his tie.
Shoto gulped again when you pulled at it, unable to focus on anything else but your eyes as you made him shiver with lust. Oh, how he wanted to devour you, and yet he took too much joy from being trapped beneath you to move an inch without permission.
Your voice fanned once again over his drying mouth, edging him until he started whimpering with need. If you weren’t trying to prove a point, you would have kissed and teased him until he came straight into his pants without ever actually touching him. But right now you had something important to do and after another second of memorizing the way his breath hitched when you tugged at his tie you jumped from his lap, rounding his desk to bring some space between you.
Shoto groaned disappointedly and you chuckled as he tried to fix his disheveled appearance. “I’ll be back in a few hours. And If you still feel like underestimating me when I return, this time you will be the one screaming.” With a wink and a smile, you closed the door behind you, leaving Shoto fixing his tie as a deep chuckle shook his heaving chest.
It was a good idea to bring a hooded jacket with you, it was a simple but effective disguise as you walked through the nightly streets and shielded you at least a bit from the rain droplets that started falling a few minutes ago and you looked forward to a nice warm bath when you returned home. You could already imagine the water embracing you and maybe you were sure Shoto would gladly give you a relaxing massage when you were back. But before you got lost you remembered the task you had offered to do, fetching the blackmailing materials he had worked so hard for.
As a precaution you had chosen to take the more empty alleyways, avoiding any possible contact with the heroes patrolling this region and sooner than later you found the meeting point, scenery looking exactly like Shoto’s subordinate had described. It was a hidden area, only a single lamp lighted the alley between two tall buildings and if you wouldn’t know about it you might have missed the feet that were lurking from behind a garbage container. Determined to get this done as fast as possible you crossed the last meters after checking for any passersby and inspected the body leaning against the wall.
To your surprise, you weren’t too shocked about your discovery or the state corpse, the time you had to spend at Shoto’s headquarters made sure a headless blood-drenched body wasn’t the worst thing you might see. But you still wrinkled your nose, being used to seeing stuff like this didn’t mean it would sit right with you. During your time as a hero, you had always preferred to do the job fast and clean without hurting your opponent more than necessary. Maybe it sounded hypocritical but you still tried to keep your pride and some old manners despite living with the scariest villain in the city. It was proof that you still had something of your old self left within you, that you weren’t completely lost under Shoto’s spell and could still make decisions for yourself. And while it was too late for this guy there was still plenty of time to save another.
You laughed dryly at this thought, “Saving the innocents, hm?” With a shake of your head, you slipped on some gloves and searched through the pockets of the delivery man, hoping that nobody else had found him before you did and stole the desired data. Luckily the chosen meeting seemed to be hidden enough that you found the hard drive in his pockets and quickly secluded it in your own before the rain could do some serious damage to it.
Glad that everything had worked out so well you send a short text message to Shoto, reassuring him that you found the data and would head back soon. The answer came impromptu with a short kiss emoji and you smiled at the screen. “You could at least tip a thank you”, you grumbled jokingly and stored the phone back into your pocket, getting ready to head home.
Unfortunately, your luck seemed to be running out that day, and when you turned around to leave you met wide-blown radiant green eyes staring at you. Your heart skipped a beat and you could only stare back at the familiar face, confusion contorting the normally soft boyish features of the number one hero. No matter how much time would pass he never seemed to change. And while he had grown taller and more muscular he looked still like your friend fresh graduated from school with his big round eyes and cute freckles decorating his round cheeks.
Before everything, you would have jumped right into his arms, teasing him when his blush painted his face crimson red but right now you hoped your eyes played a cruel trick on you.
“Y/N?”, his voice was shaking and suddenly he was right in front of you, engulfing your shaking body in a bone-crushing embrace. Nope, definitely not a trick.
Unable to move you listened to his sobbing, heart clenching in frustration that you couldn’t push him away, that you didn’t want to. “Izuku?”, you whispered and finally he retreated enough to get a good look at you, his green orbs filled with tears still rolling down his cheeks. Izuku choked down another cry and nodded.
You couldn’t help but stare in disbelief, paralyzed at the sudden appearance of your former best friend. How did you not notice him earlier? “Izuku, you’re suffocating me”, you groaned and tried to wiggle in his grasp, and to your relief, he loosened his grip enough so you could face him properly. Still overwhelmed with the sudden turn of events you blinked at him, unsure if you should return his affections or not. Izuku on the other hand continued to feel you up and down, making sure that it really was you standing in front of him. He was so careful and gentle that you felt like crying on the spot. Meanwhile, your conscience was screaming at you that you were undeserving of his care. When you felt his hands cupping your cheeks a forgotten warmth flooded you and your restraints broke enough to let the tears run down your cheeks, mixing with the nightly rain.
Izuku suddenly stilled and wiped his thumbs over your cool skin. “Hey, it’s fine. Everything will be fine”, he whispered so gently that you nearly choked on your own breath. “Come on, we should find some shelter and warm you up somewhere dry”, he offered and took your hand to guide you out of the alley, but you wouldn’t move at his pull.
Confused he turned around again and spotted a sad smile tugging at your quivering lips. “I can’t, I need to go back.” For a moment he stared at you, eyes drifting over your pale cheeks and red puffy eyes. “What are you talking about? Where would you need to go?” Something in his voice had changed, you noticed he was more on guard than before.
With a deep breath, you took a step backward, wiping the last tears from your eyes and straightening your back. You should never have let him get that close to you in the first place. “I’m sorry, Izuku. But he is waiting for me”, with a sad smile you turned around and speeded down the street, rounding a few corners to get as far away from him as possible, but the footsteps following your movements in shortening distance told another story. “Y/N, please stop!”, he begged but ignored his request, mobilizing your resources to accelerate more as you jumped over various fences and objects blocking your way.
Now your continued training paid off, but before you could celebrate your escape you were slammed into a wall, caged against the bricks by Izuku’s arms and muscular body. “I told you to stop”, he huffed and punched his fist on the wall, making the stones crack without much care. His strength was frightening and you knew you needed to flee before he decided to force you to follow him.
“Let me go”, you demanded and pushed against him without much of an effect. The flashes of lightning flickering from his body were a clear indication that he was threatening you with his quirk. “Not before you tell me where you have been the last two years. I was worried when you suddenly disappeared”, Izuku admitted with a sad tinge in his voice, despite the serious expression he tried to keep on.
Your eyes flickered between his, torn between the want to fall into his arms and the need to return to Shoto who was probably worried sick when you wouldn’t arrive on time. “I’m fine, okay? Actually, I’ve been better than ever before. So please, ‘Zuku, let me go home.”
Izuku was silent, but you saw the gears turning in his head, trying to understand why you would push him away or at least tell him why you had vanished without a trace. You had always been a picture-perfect hero, faithful and kind, or at least you were before your encounter with Shoto. When the image of the dual-colored haired villain appeared in his thoughts something clicked and he paled as he remembered the rumors that were telling a weird story you had run off with the monster called Shoto. No. No, this wasn’t possible. You wouldn’t side with a villain, would you?
The guilt in your eyes spoke a million words. “Don’t do this, Y/N. Just come back with me and I… I will protect you and we can forget about this?” Izuku was shaking and the pleading look in his eyes broke your already aching heart. “It’s fine Izuku, Shoto is taking good care of me.”
The green in his eyes seemed to intensify as he leaned closer, fist slamming into the wall a second time. “He is a monster, Y/N, a mass murderer. How could you even think that he would care about you”, his growl was menacingly and his face contorted in anger, eyebrows knitted in disbelief of your reckless behavior. Maybe Shoto had manipulated you so you trusted him. Yes, that must be it, he thought, but the look in your eyes was determined that Izuku was in the wrong.
“You are right, he is a monster, cruel and brutal and frightening. But not to me. Never to me.”
The calmness of your voice was alerting to Izuku. How could you believe in someone as disgusting as Shoto?! He needed to take you back, maybe if you were far away from your captor Izuku could bring you back to your senses. With a growl he snaked his arms around your waist and threw you over his shoulder, marching away from the scenery he had found you in. He will definitely make sure you won’t fall into the villain’s arms ever again.
“The fuck are you doing?! Let me go, now!”, you demanded and punched on his back, but Iuku didn’t stop, instead he tightened his grip around you to keep you from wiggling. “I won’t. You will come with me and I will make sure to protect you from…”
Izuku’s growling was interrupted by a flash of fire in front of him. Soon the tiny hairs on his neck stood straight, already sensing the danger laying behind the flaming walls. He knew Shoto was famous for his dramatic entrances but this was a bit too flashy in the dark of night.
When you felt the familiar heat you arched your back to follow Izuku’s gaze, seeing that alley was engulfed in fire. As a tall figure stepped graciously through the flickering flames your heart dropped down. Afraid of what was to come you struggled harder against your friend’s hold on your waist before your beloved decided to rip you from the hero’s grip. “P-please, ‘Zuku, you need to let me go. Please!”, you whisper-screamed but he still wouldn’t budge, eyes focused on the villain in front of him.
When you turned around again you spotted Shoto walking calmly towards you, or that was what it looked like from the inside. A single look into his mismatched orbs was enough to see the rage within him, the anger that somebody dared to lay a hand on you.
“The lady said she wants to go. Not very heroic from you to keep her hostage”, Shoto joked dryly and you swore with how deep Izuku’s fingers dug into the flesh of your waist there would be bruises left. Both men threw each other a deathly glare and you grew more and more anxious. The two people who you loved the most were about to murder each other if you didn’t do something.
“Bold of you to assume I am the one keeping her hostage. Step back and l will forget you this once”, Izuku answered with venom dripping from his normally cheery voice. You felt the constantly changing temperatures, ranging from icy-cold to searing hot the closer Shoto came. “Watch your mouth, hero”, Shoto spat back and you started to feel the shifting of Izuku’s muscles, sparks of green lightning indicating he was ready to attack any second.
Adrenaline rushed through your veins and you couldn’t handle listening to this any longer. You gritted your teeth as you mobilized your quirk to escape from your friend’s insanely tight grip. Izuku was as surprised as Shoto when you finally managed to free yourself and landed right between them, keeping Shoto from approaching Izuku. “But Y/N?”, Izuku mumbled and you felt sorry at this sad gaze when you turned to Shoto and hugged him tightly, turning him away from your former friend who followed your movements in disbelief.
Slowly your hand found Shoto’s cheek and you guided his face towards you, gaining all of his attention by stroking lovingly over the edge of his scar. Even though you saw his eyes flicker to the hero he kept his gaze mainly on you, checking for any injuries or scratches. When he found none his look softened a bit and he let out a content sigh, but the puffy redness from the tears you had shed didn’t go unnoticed by him.
“Snowflake, did he hurt you?”, he asked softly and his hands roamed over your soaked, shivering body warming you up with his warm hand, but when he graced your waist and you flinched at the slight stinging his eyes snapped to Izuku and a piercing icy wall shot at the hero. You gasped in shock at the sudden attack but fortunately, Izuku was fast enough to dodge it before the sharp tips pierced through his chest.
Izuku immediately prepared a counterattack and jumped from wall to wall until he was behind Shoto, ready to punch him in the back when you appeared in his line of sight, protecting your beloved from the incoming blow. Skillfully you redirected the hit and sent Izuku into the opposite wall where he came crashing down, blood now dripping from his curly green mop of hair. “Shit, Y/N! You’re protecting a monster!”, he shouted and shoved the rubble aside returning to stand on his feet and readying himself to strike again.
You did the same and Shoto watched in awe as you stood in front of him, shielding him from any attack Izuku might offer. You had watched this for long enough, you would go home with Shoto and Izuku could do nothing to prevent you from leaving with your man.
“I am protecting my love and you won’t stop me anymore”, you growled and as you saw something break inside Izuku you felt another crack in your heart too. Suddenly his anger seemed to dissipate and he broke visibly. You never wanted to hurt him like this, and while Izuku had always been a tiny light in the dark Shoto was the one who rescued you from the misery you had called your life before. Now that you were at the point where you had to decide between them you turned to Shoto without a doubt.
Speaking of which the villain watched the conversation, worried for your wellbeing but at the same time so incredibly proud that you not only stood up for yourself but for him too. His cold heart burned for only you and he would make sure that from one you would never have to face despair like this again.
Determined to finish rescuing you he raised his left again to shoot another fireball at the hero but was stopped by a hand on his forearm, pushing it back down. “Please don’t hurt him, Shoto.” And he followed your plea, despite his want to lecture your former friend. “Let’s go home, snowflake”, Shoto whispered and blew a kiss against your temple before turning to guide you to his car.
But Izuku wasn’t defeated and he would never accept that you chose a fucking villain over your best friend. With a growl, he jumped forward and tried to snatch you from Shoto’s hold but this time the villain was faster than you. But to your surprise, Shoto still complied with your wish and stuck with trapping Izuku in an ice block without even scratching him. “If Y/N didn’t tell me to spare you, you would be dead by now, hero”, Shoto threatened and mouthed a tiny thank you to your beloved.
As you turned around to leave Izuku cried again, desperation and hurt taking over his last bit of control. “Please stay! Don’t go with him! You can still be a hero, just stay with me!”, Izuku begged and you sighed as you turned to face him, slowly walking over to your friend who was turning and tossing as much as he could in his restraints.
Carefully your hand found his cheek and he stilled, thick droplets of tears rolling down his freckled cheeks as you pressed your lips to his forehead. “I won’t ask for your forgiveness, but please know that you have been the reason I was able to survive until now.” You wiped a tear from his cheek and he cried again, fighting against the ice but unable to free himself as you retreated and faced him one last time. “I love you Izuku, but Shoto is my home, the place where I was always meant to be.”
Your heart shattered once again as the light in his green eyes dulled and Izuku slumped, unable to see you leave in the arms of his greatest enemy.
