this will only be funny to like 5 people probably but I've been playing a lot of that Hunger Games Simulator again and I love how weirdly in-character it can get. (context under the cut)

in the videogame Viva Piñata, when you kill a Piñata, you'll hear a bunch of kids cheering and see their body ascend with harp music as if it's going to heaven. but then it'll just take a sharp left, float to the edge of your garden and respawn there again in monochrome colours (like other wild piñata)

Found a little family of Whirlms outside and one baby whirlm wanting to become a resident as well! These whirlms were inspired by the game ‘Viva Piñata’ 🪅. This is another pattern that I have made myself and I’m so happy with how adorable they look!

Votes have been decided time to explain the au that has been trapped in my brain for almost a week also maybe some of the sketches I have made for the au as well.

I also kinda had a pretty long day, so don't flood the notes please, but like wait 30 seconds if possible.

This might be a really long post since I can trail off at times when explaining.

I am known to ramble so I wanted to add a few more things. I wanted to say thank you to those who have supported me so far even if it is as small as a like. Even some of you inspired me. I can be nervous when talking with people so it's kinda helped me a bit.

So I will now introduce the au.

What started as a small little idea turned in an au.

What is the au about?

Well the au is a crossover of Viva Piñata and Submas.

For those who don't know what it is let me explain.

Viva Piñata is a garden simulation game Created by Microsoft GameStudios and Rare (Those who made Banjo n' Kazooie)

It is also a fandom of a small size from as much as I know.

The first game starts with you getting a deed for a garden on piñata island, that had previously belonged to one of the most amazing gardeners on the island but then his age crept up on him weakening him, so he had his daughter try to fix the garden but couldn't.

We meet her and she gives us the journal and a shovel being held together by basically a ribbon and a wish.

We are then instructed with basics and such and then we are able to break up the junk and renew the soil, and then you get you first piñata, called a Whirlm.

Viva Piñata, the original game is what I explained there are quite a few pieces of media the do exist. There existed a tv show that ran on 4kids, where the main 3 where of the Piñatas above,

Paulie Pretzeltail, Hudson Horstachio, and Fergy Fudgehog. But I will explain about the TV show another time.

Then there was trouble in paradise, which added more plants, piñatas, piñata varieties, and characters.

Okay enough about that for now if you don't fully understand it I also do recommend checking out the wiki. Sometimes I can talk about a topic for hours but I must restrain myself.

Okay so it basically starts like legends arceus kinda, but there is no arc phone this time, but the brothers do have their own phones but the phones aren't functioning.

The twins find themselves separated on opposite ends of piñata island.

Most of they're memories are still intact but not for how they got there, so yes they still remember each other.

Both then search for any life or people on this strange island.

Ingo ends up finding a town, because it seems every seems to wear colorful clothes and masks, some kids and people stare at him, it was kinda rare to see someone from the main land.

(In viva pinata all human characters, okay most human characters have masks, or costumes, sometimes faces are viewable at times)

Emmet isn't as fortunate as his brother. Finding himself being followed by a flock of strange paper birds, when he eventually falls in to a mineshaft. The whole place is covered with webs, when suddenly he is swarmed by arocknid, but not in a hostile way but more curious to why this human had fallen into their home.

As said in the start of the post I did kinda have a long day and artblock has kinda got a hold of me. So I may need a mental break for the weekend.

i was a huge fan of viva piñata as a kid! i picked up a used generic-sleeve copy of the xbox 360 one thats just titled "viva piñata" at my local gamestop when i was like 10 and i played that thing to death. ive looked for ages and havent found an emulation of it that wasnt on the shadiest lyingest site ever. i loved feeding different piñatas flowers to find the hidden color variants and i loved curing the cursed piñatas because i wanted to be their friends 🥺

It's such a process to emulate and even then it can still be buggy or decide not to run 😭 it so tragic I want nothing more then for all the games to remade. I played all of them but mostly the first game and pocket paradise they were the perfect pet sim. No other game I think has gotten close to the level of detail and character design and its so tragic. I still have my copy of viva pinata for the Xbox360 but unfortunately my Xbox broke 💔 I still have a functional disk but no way to actually play it.

Here are so things that I really loved about the game

The different colors- it really was so much fun trying to figure out what to feed different piñatas to unlock the different colors. Then some foods could change a piñatas entire species! It was amazing and so creative. The only way I would improve upon this would be letting the unlocked color impact the patterns and colors of new piñatas when breeding.

The romance dances- I was so excited to get new pairs of piñatas because it would always play the dance and each species had their own unique dances based on different styles of dance. They were so goofy like the whirlms doing the worm xD

Gardening- for the time period viva pinata had a pretty unique and robust gardening system (in my opinion) and it's rarely talked about despite how important it was for looks and attracting new piñatas. The trees growing was so neat and cool to see and it was so nice how so many different piñatas could interact with the plants in different ways it was really immersive.

Piñata interactions- I have a core memory of watching a Pretztail stalk a bunnycomb through the tall grass of my garden before getting into a fight with it. It was really neat to see that! The game treated the life and death of piñatas so neutrally and it was really interesting, these days I'd imagine a game would vilify the poor predatory piñatas. It was cool how they didn't force you to have certain set up either but you would want to still contain some piñatas away from others because they would fight. Its also so funny and morbid dead piñatas drop candy and all the other piñatas want to eat it lmao

The graphics- viva pinata had great art direction and was honestly a very beautiful game with bright cheery colors and great memorable character design!

I love the game so much! I hope one day a game will come out that will be able to fill that hole in my heart. Only thing I have seen that was somewhat similar was wobbledogs but it honestly doesn't hold a candle to viva pinata.

i had the viva piñata ds game but could never beat it because you had to let the piñatas eat each other to collect new species and i was too attached to the mouse ones to let them die

me age 7 realizing i would have to take my beloved whirlm the first piñata i got in the game who i named myself and loved and feed it to the sparrowmint to get it to live in my garden

Beginners tips

(Still being edited/added on to)

Press LS (Left-stick) to move your camera and cursor faster and press it again to return to normal speed

When decorating keep in mind that the "square" isn't quite even (to test this take your grass seed packet and attempt to make a perfect diagonal line from one corner to another it will be kinda wonky at the end)

Raising a piñatas happiness levels can seem pretty difficult in the beginning as you're only really about naming them to make them happy however certain pinata (whirlm and syrupents for example) will gain happiness from being bathed by your watering can

Don't worry about fitting every pinata on one farm! When you create a new save file on viva pinata it transfers money and experience so its a great way to collect every pinata.

Not all piñata get along well and if you notice two species fighting more often than others (Ex. Lickatoads and Newtgats.) I highly recommend selling one and moving them to another save file. (With the help of Gretchen of course)

Use 👏 Your 👏 FENCES 👏 (especially when breeding prey piñata unless they are birds [obviously])

If you're lucky you can smack two pinata out of a fight before it starts so keep your shovel at the ready

A watering can spray can also get pinata out of fights but its much less reliable (does give certain pinata happiness points in return tho so it can be worth a shot)

Before you have all garden upgrade pressing your cursor to the white border for about a minute will let you out of the garden to look around but you cannot interact with anything

Positioning your cursor over her shadow at the right time in the right way will allow you to smack/spray Storkos (not a gameplay tip but i spent a good chunk of my childhood testing this and wish to let everyone know it is possible)

If you smack or spray leafos she will take away the tool responsible from you until she feels you've learned your lesson so don't do it repeatedly

As tempting as it is dont smack seedos either unless you are willing to keep your shovel out 24/7 to smack various weeds and their seeds out of your garden.

Leave marked items closer to the village entrance so bart can get in and out asap saves you a nice chunk of time
