The Umbaran Pathogen - Day 10: Branding
Summary: Two days after the 212th breaks away from the 501st, Waxer and Canivete come across a rather unusual specimen while out scouting the perimeter of their current basecamp.
Warning: N/A
Prev / Next
[In which the events on Umbara are worsened by an unknown pathogen taking hold of both the 501st and 212th. These series of drabbles will follow a non-linear timeline based on the AI-less Whumptober prompt list for 2023.]
THIS STORY IS ALSO ON AO3
---
"I'm just saying... It's not that he can't rock the mustache all on its own, but would it kill him to try to do something different with his hair once in a while?" Waxer carried on with the previous discussion he and Canivete had been having during mealtime.
And, as rude as it was to talk about a vod who wasn't even on planet, Cani couldn't help but to agree a little with what he was saying. Boil could really use a new look that didn't just consist of putting all his effort into facial hair.
Maybe some kind of decorative fade, or maybe even a mullet...
"Keep your eyes on the ground. This place is crawling with critters ready to snack on our bone marrow..." She responded instead, making sure to keep her own peepers glued to the forest floor as she walked.
For all that Umbara was a bit of a desolate hellhole, one couldn't deny that the plants and trees had a sort of ethereal look to them. The Zabrak Spikes's glowing red spines looked beautiful against the dark hues of the landscape. And (if not for the fact they were aggressive) the tendrils of Death's Embrace moved in strangely alluring manners that were almost hypnotizing. Almost.
That enchanting beauty was exactly why it was so easy to get caught unaware by the creatures that roamed up above on the canopies, or that chose to camouflage down below with the foliage.
The Vixus, for example, were masters at just that.
"I hear ye, and I see it too." Waxer reassured as he glanced forward to what had alarmed Cani in the first place. A Vixus tendrils, just barely visible among actual plant roots. Waiting for someone to be so careless as to tread on it. "Nasty beasts..."
Nasty indeed. Too many had already fallen into this particular trap for them to have any understanding or sympathy for this particular way of hunting. Even Pi, with his fascination for animals, wouldn't defend these beasts after he heard just how many vode had been devoured.
If Cani got to live long enough to tell him that is...
Shaking that particularly negative thought out of her head, the medic carefully sidestepped the seeking tendril and carried on moving. Waxer tailed calmly behind her, flashlight skimming over the beast's closed bulb-like maw. Then his footsteps stopped abruptly, causing her to pause as well.
"Waxer?" She turned around, noting the way he was observing the dormant Vixus. "Leave it be, we need to keep moving."
"I know..." Even with his helmet on, she could easily tell he was frowning. "I just... Does that look natural to you?"
He pointed, her eyes following his finger and noting the rather strange marking on the creature's outer shell. It looked like some kind of symbol had been stamped on it. Or rather, burnt on with a branding iron. For what purpose however, she did not know.
Neither did Waxer who was staring at it with clear confusion.
"Uh... Weird..." Cani mumbled as she went to grab her datapad off its belt loop. "There's lettering on it. Umbaran, obviously. I'll snap a holo and we can show it to the General. He's good with languages."
"Yeah, probably best we do that. It's never a good sign when you find a big predator with some kind of branded symbol on it..." If anything, it was downright suspicious. And they both knew it. "Last time that happened, dang thing was some kind of tracking beast..."
"I doubt these things are trainable, but it's better to be safe than sorry." Canivete conceded. She took the holo and then motioned for them to carry on. The sooner they finished scouting the perimeter, the faster they could ask General Kenobi about the odd specimen they'd just encountered.

After the tragedy of the Triumph at the end of Golden Son, Morning Star opens a year later, with Darrow imprisoned by the Jackal in a stone box. He is slowly going insane from the darkness, but, just as he is about to end it all, he is slowly lifted from it. The entire time he was inside a stone table, and it has been 9 months that he has been in the box, after being tortured for 3. He is being given by the Jackal to Cassius au Bellona and Aja au Grimmus so the Sovereign can have him dissected. He is taken by Legion XVIII Grays, and during this, rescued by two of them, brother and sister, Holiday and Trigg ti Nakamura. On their way out they encounter Vixus, who reveals that Victra is alive. Darrow demands they free her, which reveals their escape. Darrow kills Vixus, and they escape into a tunnel dug by clawDrills with the help of Ragnar, Sevro, and the Sons of Ares, who Sevro now leads as Ares. This, however, costs Trigg’s life. Darrow awakes in the underground Sons of Ares run city of Tinos. His entire Red family is there, as is Dancer, Sevro, and Ragnar. Sevro reveals to Darrow a lot of things, such as Darrow’s Carving being made public after the Society fake executed him as a Gold and not a Red spy, that the Moon Lords of Jupiter and the rest of the outer Rim planets had rebelled with the aid of Mustang and the Telemanus family, and that Sevro had taken Darrow’s original Red eyes in place of his Gold ones. Darrow undergoes another carving by Mickey to restore him back to how he was, but has his sigils removed so his hands are bare. They go on bigger and bigger missions till Darrow, Victra, and Holiday are inducted as Howlers. Sevro then decides to move on with their mission to economically collapse the society by kidnapping Quicksilver, the richest Silver in the Solar System and the Jackal’s silent partner, and bombing Phobos. They smuggle into Phobos and find Matteo, the pink that trained Darrow in Aureate society before he went to the Institute, but Sevro breaks his jaw when he doesn’t know where Quicksilver is. They head to his office, and are shocked to find Mustang, Kavax au Telemanus, Moira au Grimmus (sister to Aja), and Cassius brokering a peace treaty between the Moon Lords and the Sovereign. Sevro goes off the walls, drunk on power, and begins a battle. Moira dies, Cassius and Mustang escape, and Kavax, Matteo, and Quicksilver are taken prisoner. Darrow assumes control from Sevro and they escape in the void of space out the window and into the back of Holiday’s ship. Once back in the Sons of Ares safe house, they stress on how to escape, and then go to question Quicksilver. He reveals he was the original Son of Ares all along after having found it with Fitchner. Darrow and Sevro fight, and Sevro defers leadership to Darrow. In order to save the Sons of Ares on Phobos and cause a ruse for another plan, he starts a rebellion of all the lowColors on the moon. As the rebellion rages and he is assumed to be on Phobos, him, Holiday, and Ragnar escape in a ship headed for the south pole of Mars, where they plan to raise an Obsidian army and lead them out of slavery. Mustang also accompanies them on this journey, saying she needs proof that Darrow is fighting for the right cause. After the Obsidians challenged Gold years back, the Golds had marooned them on the poles of the planets, brainwashing them into thinking Golds are Asgardian gods and that their technology is magic to keep them in check. Ragnar intends to show his tribe the way to freedom and have them join the Rising, but they are shot down by Cassius and Aja. They fight off cannibals and snow storms and Carved monsters, but eventually track down Cassius and Aja. Mustang shoots Cassius through the throat and he survives but is subdued, and Aja brings down Ragnar before stumbling off of a cliff. As he lay dying, his sister and her Valkyrie arrive on griffins. He tells her to live for more, and then dies. This leaves Darrow, Holiday, and Mustang to entreat Ragnar and Sefi’s mother, Alia Snowsparrow, to join their cause and tell her people the Golds are false gods. She knew already, however, and tells Sefi to turn them into the Golds on the floating mountain of Asgard. Sefi takes them, but not before making a deal with Darrow to let him prove to her the gods are false, and he does, killing Procter Mercury, who was disguised as Loki, and another Gold disguised as Freya. They capture the rest of the Golds in the mountain, return to the tribe, and present them to the war council and Alia. She demands the Golds freed so Sefi beheads Alia, and then slowly kills all of the Golds. Several weeks later, she has united the Obsidian tribes of south Mars, and leads them all back to Tinos. Their next move is to sail to Io to convince Romulus au Raa to ally with them against the Society’s Sword Armada, led by none other than Roque au Fabii. Darrow convinces/tricks them into an alliance, and they defeat the Sword Armada. Roque kills himself before being taken prisoner or disgraced, and Antonia flees, but is soon caught. Darrow destroys Romulus’s ship port, framing Roque for it, so the Moon Lords will not be a threat to him for the rest of the war. They broadcast that they are sailing to Mars when they actually sail for Luna.  During this time, the Obsidians revolt after Darrow’s uncle Narol was publicly executed by the Jackal. They hang Gold prisoners and attempt to hang Cassius, but Sevro proves a point that they need to be better by hanging himself. Cassius and Sevro fortunately survive the display, and shortly after Victra and Sevro are married. They sail on Luna, and, after rebonding with Cassius, Darrow decides to let him go before one of the Obsidians or Reds sneak into the prison during the battle and kills him. He betrays them however, and kills Sevro, captures Darrow and Mustang, frees Antonia, and escapes. They bring Darrow, Mustang, and Sevro’s body before the Jackal, and the Jackal demands Cassius to cut off Darrow’s sword hand, which he does. He then takes them before the Sovereign. Octavia executes Antonia for her cowardice during the battle in the Rim, and then starts live-streaming the execution of Darrow. The Jackal demands to put him down, but instead, Cassius reveals the entire thing was a trick and starts killing the Praetorians in the room. Together, Darrow, Mustang, Cassius, and the now revived, not dead at all Sevro take down the Truth Knight and the Joy Knight, pin the Jackal to the floor, cut Octavia’s belly open, and kill Aja. They let the Sovereign die, leaving her grandson Lysander alive, and then hear the Jackal laugh. He begins to instruct his Bonerider, Lilath, to detonate 30 megaton nuclear warheads all over Luna. He gets around 15 of them off before Darrow rips out his tongue and the Ash Lord destroys Lilath’s ship. Mustang becomes the new Sovereign of the Society, and the Jackal is hanged. The Ash Lord flees to Mercury, and Cassius takes Lysander with him to start a new life. At the end of the book, Mustang and Darrow are on Earth where she reveals that she has been keeping a secret from him. Another ship with Darrow’s family and the Telemanus family arrive, and he is introduced to his and Mustang’s son, Pax.
Darrow O’Lykos (The Reaper of Mars; The Morning Star): Darrow’s humbling at the hands of the Jackal is some serious character growth that was much needed. He realizes that he and the people around him are not invincible, and is more willing to make sacrifices and smarter decisions. The reveal of him having a son with Mustang is a lovely closing arc (despite there being more books). Eo and their child was lost, but he gained a new life, in a better world with Mustang and their son, the ultimate reward for his sacrifices. The grace he shows for Roque, Cassius, and Thistle despite what they have done to him show him to be a true judge of character.  The only thing I wish had been shown more was his PTSD from the Jackal. Granted he does have it, and it is shown, but I felt as though there could have been better representation of that.
Cassius au Bellona (The Morning Knight): Cassius has one of the best redemption arcs I have ever seen, starting with when he covers the naked and tortured Darrow after he is brought out of the Jackal’s box with his own Morning Knight cloak. Darrow never gives up on him, even when they are enemies, and it eventually gets through to him. He shows grace, mercy, true honor, and a lack of the “revenge/blood for blood” motto he has in the first and second book. It was a really scary plot twist to go from Cassius being good, to him “killing” Sevro and “capturing Mustang and Darrow”, to him then being revealed as good again.
Sevro au Barca (Goblin; Ares): I’m sorry but you will be hard pressed to find a more badass scene than when Sevro hangs himself to save Cassius.
Storyline: The storyline of this book is exquisite. It keeps you on your toes the whole time, and everything flows together really well. Everything makes sense (no “Game of Thrones finale” endings here). Nothing magically resolves itself, there are no plot holes, and the author isn’t shy about killing major characters (RIP Ragnar, Roque, Lorn, Tactus, Quinn, Lea, Pax, Fitchner, and Uncle Narol).
Representation: Orion xe Aquarii, Thistle, and Aja au Grimmus are the only people of color explicitly mentioned. Quicksilver proclaims very proudly that Matteo is his husband. Holiday explains that her brother Trigg was engaged to a man named Ephraim. There are more comments alluding to the fact that Roque and Tactus were involved, and Tactus’ brother makes a joke asking if him and Darrow were involved, as Darrow “wouldn’t have been the first.”
Summary: The plot twists of this book, the secret plans, the bold moves, the character development, the gut wrenching emotions, the entertaining and powerful dialogue, all combines into a serious masterpiece of a book and a great ending to the first part of the series. It has a heavy happy ending; there are still problems, nothing is perfect, they only arrived there through blood, sweat, tears, and death, but everything is good, because they have won, and Darrow has gotten back what he lost in a new way.
Quotes:  “All deeds that last are painted in blood.” (pg. 5) “’I will give Eo your love. I will make a house for you in the Vale of your fathers. It will be beside my own. Join me there when you die.’ He grins. ‘But I am no builder. So take your time. We will wait.’”-Ragnar Volarus (pg. 237) “’This is always how the story would end, Adrius,’ I say down to him. ‘Not with your screams. Not with your rage. But with your silence.’”-Darrow O’Lykos (to Adrius au Augustus) (pg. 501) “’A man thinks he can fly, but he is afraid to jump. A poor friend pushes him from behind.’ He looks up at me. ‘A good friend jumps with.’” “Justice isn’t about fixing the past, it’s about fixing the future. We’re not fighting for the dead. We’re fighting for the living. And for those who aren’t yet born.”-Darrow O’Lykos “And I wonder, in my last moments, if the planet does not mind that we wound her surface or pillage her bounty, because she knows we silly warm things are not even a breath in her cosmic life. We have grown and spread, and will rage and die. And when all that remains of us is our steel monuments and plastic idols, her winds will whisper, her sands will shift, and she will spin on and on, forgetting about the bold, hairless apes who thought they deserved immortality.”-Darrow O’Lykos “If your heart beats like a drum, and your legs a little wet, it’s because the Reaper’s come to collect a little debt.”-Sevro au Barca “Man is no island. We need those who love us. We need those who hate us. We need others to tether us to life, to give us a reason to live, to feel.” “What is pride without honor? What is honor without truth? Honor is not what you say. It is not what you read.” Romulus thumps his chest. “Honor is what you do.”-Romulus au Raa

Okay so Baldi's basics in education and learning just died and things are looking too slightly optimistic for things to go well so COME AT ME WHUMP I GOT KNIVES ON ME YOU CANT GET ME
Also, Antonia got mentioned again. I swear to fucking god she better do something that will live up to the hype I thought she had (to be fair she did participate in golden son's ending, but she felt as important as vixus and the bone hair girl during the scene - just a pawn for jackal 💀)

How did the most beautiful thing I've ever seen turn into a pile of putrid filth?
I'm not talking about Their body even though that is appealing
There is something so alluring about the way They see the world and the way They brush Their teeth. And the way They laugh, and the way They smile and the way They don't give a fuck. Oops.
I'm so tired of crying over you. You never wanted me you only wanted what I gave you
Which is a vessel in which to pour your abuse instead of dealing with it and working through and being the best version of yourself.
I see that you're trying but are angry and scared
I'm sorry you miss the people that are dead
I'm sorry your dad is a moron
I'm sorry that you are more fucked up than me and use that dissonance as a weapon
I can't hate You but I loathe the behavior
You, yourself can be your only savior
Try a different flavor
of a lollipop instead of being loyal to sad sack of cunt

Hello! My name is Luka, and I go by they/them pronouns. This is my roleplay account for my Warrior of Light, Sakura Vixu. I’m not sure how I’ll active be on here compared to my Azem, @starrsheperd, but I do exist ^^ this is a side blog, so all follows will be from my main @lesbianvenat, which is mostly fandom junk and rambles. I am a minor, so if that makes you uncomfortable you are more than welcome to block me and not interact.
I mainly RP in the FFXIV verse but I could probably dip my toes into others, I’m not sure how tumblr rp works >.< thanks!
Edit: I also exist in game as Sakura Vixu on Light!

The Umbaran Pathogen - Day 14: Bleeding Through the Bandage
Summary: In the midst of all the chaos, the holopic Canivete and Waxer took of the Vixus they had encountered lay forgotten in the depths of the medic's personal pad. In her defense, Cani's attention had been drawn towards a rather strange outbreak that had been causing the 212th some grief.
Warning: N/A (there's one instance of ickiness but it's very brief)
Prev / Next
[In which the events on Umbara are worsened by an unknown pathogen taking hold of both the 501st and 212th. These series of drabbles will follow a non-linear timeline based on the AI-less Whumptober prompt list for 2023.]
THIS STORY IS ALSO ON AO3
---
To say Canivete was more than a little confounded by the strange affliction that had befallen the men, was disconcerting to say the least. Not that she was an expert in every exotic malady that came her way (far from it). But she did fancy herself an avid connoisseur of the field dermatology. Mostly because a lot of the vode had atrocious skin routines, and she was more than ready to fight them on their insistence on not giving two kriffs.
Sure at the end of the day all her siblings washed up fairly nicely, and did their best not to pick at spots, or scratch this or that pimple that cropped up unexpectedly. But one could only do so much with the standard military grade 5-in-1 soap they were provided by the GAR... And Canivete was not going to let any of them walk around looking like pre-pubescent cadets with extra greasy skin or dry as kark scalps...
So no, she was no expert, but she did know skin blemishes and abrasions better than anyone else in her field. And the sudden outbreak of rashes was definitely not a normal occurance.
At first she and her fellow medics had assumed it was allergies to the alien foliage and whatnot. The pollen, fungal spores, and bioluminiscent material that the plants naturally produced floated freely in the air, and none of them had been inoculated against Umbara's microbiota or microflora. So that had definitely been a plausible cause for the recent bout of rashes.
But, as she took care to examine the lesions more closely, Cani had quickly ruled out that possibility altogether. Because allergens didn't cause huge swollen craters. At least not on their own.
There was also the fact that every single one of the men that came to her with rashes, displayed them on the same highly localized area on their necks. At the very back, between two vertebrae. Right where a blade could easily sink into the spinal chord and sever it.
A rightful basis for alarm, if she did say so herself. Any potential for spinal damage out in the field was more than a little unnerving...
In the end, the most logical conclusion she'd made was that this was some kind of bug bite. From a very big bug. Big enough that the wound was substantial in size, and that whatever poison had been pumped into the men was immediately met with the body aggressively reacting to it, hence the severe rash. Now how the troopers had all seemingly been ambushed by something that enormous without noticing, was what truly bothered her...
"Crys, are you SURE you don't remember getting bit...?" She insisted, as she carefully coated the back of his neck in some ointment so as to sooth the irritated skin.
"I'm telling you, I really don't remember anything..." The blond replied, sounding somewhat tired as he had been unable to get any rest thanks to the constant itch. "All I know is that Wooley and I were out scouting, and then suddenly I woke up about two clicks away with an awful pain on the back of my neck..."
"He's telling the truth." Wooley confirmed. "One minute we were looking over the perimeter, then the next he was just... Gone. I found him exactly two clicks north looking all kinds of dazed..."
"And there was no sign of anything in the area? No critters that could have attacked him?" The medic continued to press.
"Absolutely nothing in the area... It was kinda freaky." Wooley admitted, sounding a little disconcerted. "When I got to him it was so quiet... Like everything in the area just up and fled. And his neck was a bloody mess..."
"Curious..." She murmured to herself as she carefully bandaged Crys's neck. He wasn't the worst of her cases, as multiple other troopers had rashes that were beginning to spread from the original point of infection to the rest of their body. Proving her theory that some kind of foreign poison was circulating in their blood.
She just didn't know what that poison was, or what creature could have possibly administered it. The database she'd consulted on the Umbaran flora and fauna was severely outdated and incomplete, and it held no useful information on blood sucking insects or any other such parasites...
"I want you to stay close, Cr'ika..." The medic finally said as she finished tending to her fellow trooper and vod. "Just so that I and the other medics can keep an eye on your symptoms, alright?"
"I guess..." Crys shrugged as he got up and began to move out. Not noticing Canivete motioning for Wooley to keep watching the blond, since she didn't want any of the sick moving about on their own. Not when the later stages of infection seemed to come with severe fevers and other alarming developments...
"What a mess..." Canivete whispered to herself as she looked around the triage zone they'd set up. There were several troopers in different stages of their infection. Some with the beginnings of the spreading rash, others covered head to toe in bandages as open sores with strange black growths began to crop up all over their bodies, and a few more suffering through horrific hallucinations and fever.
To say she was worried was an understatement. This was unlike anything she or any of the other medics had ever faced, and she was honestly starting to get a little scared that they might not find a solution for it. At least not without knowing for sure what the root cause was actually was...
Maybe if she looked through her own archive of alien diseases that she'd collected overtime, she might find a better match than the stupid Umbaran database...? Surely there might be something there that would at least point her in the right direction.
She was just about to unclip her personal pad from her belt when General Kenobi began to approach, Commander Cody sluggishly following behind him while maintaining pressure against the back of his neck.
"Oh dear..." She let go of the pad, letting it settle back against her belt while frowning with obvious concern. "Sirs, please tell me neither of you are sick as well?"
"Unfortunately I cannot say that is the case for one of us..." The General frowned as he motioned for the Commander to have a seat. She already knew what she would be seeing once his helmet was off, and his collar was lowered.
"How?" She opted to ask instead.
"It is most peculiar... One moment we were both up at the very top of one of the Zabrak Spikes, monitoring the horizon for enemy patrols with our scopes..." Obi-wan began to explain, a very perturbed look on his face. "And then... I felt two odd presences nearby."
"Carry on...?" This was new information. Cody's wound was much fresher and still bleeding heavily, which gave her a clear view of just how he'd been cut into. It looked like the outer layer of skin had been cut by a pair of strong mandibles, and the puncture wound itself was some kind of needle-like proboscis with barbed structures. Another point towards the bug bite theory.
"It was... Very strange, to say the least. It felt familiar but I could not identify how, since it also felt foreign in a contradictory manner..." Obi-wan continued, scratching his beard in thought as he tried to make sense of the experience. "I must have been so focused on trying to decipher what I had sensed, that I hadn't noticed the Commander was no longer at my side. A rather careless mistake on my part..."
"It wasn't your fault, sir." Cody tried to reassure the General. "When you froze up I should have put my guard up..."
"Let me guess, you woke up somewhere deeper in the woods with no memory of how you got injured?" Cani guessed. She motioned for him to brace himself as she poured some rubbing alcohol into the wound, having run out of disinfectant two patients ago. For what it was worth, Cody only mildly flinched. But Canivete could have sworn she saw something in the wound wriggle.
Blinking in surprise she squinted at the bloodied hole, only to find no movement whatsoever. Just a gaping wound that needed to be bandaged.
Little gods, she must be more tired than she originally thought...
"I woke up tangled in a thorny bush. I just assumed whatever grabbed me had dropped me from tall enough a height that one of the thorns got through my body-glove with ease." Cody admitted, sounding a little sheepish. "But when it started to bleed more heavily while trying to find my way back, I had some doubts... That was at least five hours ago. Whatever took me, covered enough ground that I was a fair distance away"
That certainly explained the temporary radio silence from her superior offers. It also did little to ease her anxiety on the matter.
"Given the recent outbreak of strange symptoms, once we located each other I thought it best to bring the Commander to the medics's care." Obi-wan sighed. "I take it that was a wise decision?"
"Very. Pardon my language General, but whatever the sith-hells is attacking the men is not only doing it with enough concussive force to cause temporary memory loss, but it is also very clearly specialized in this method specifically..." Canivete crossed her arms in slight frustration upon finishing bandaging up her superior officer. She wasn't too happy about any of this. "I'm starting to think it might not even be a regular wild animal attack... Maybe it's another Umbaran weapon? Some kind of domesticated beast that they're using to incapacitate the men?"
"Perhaps. I don't think we can rule out that possibility..." Obi-wan agreed. "The Umbarans are not at all pleased with our intrusion on their home-front, and as much as I'd like to say that they wouldn't stoop so low as to employ biological warfare, I can't say that it's not a tactic one wouldn't resort to in moments of desperation..."
Their Jedi had most definitely seen his fair share of bloody battles in his day. Had seen the worst that could be done out on the field. Canivete knew this well, after taking a closer look at her General's medical files.
She did not envy how he and his fellow Jedi learned some of the hardest lessons one could learn out in the galaxy...
"Canivete!"
All three of them fell quiet as Waxer ran over to the trio, breathing heavily and holding a datapad in his hand. The medic looked at the Lieutenant with mild curiosity as she watched him attempt to catch his breath.
"Waxer... What's got you in a rut, vod?" She greeted, feeling somewhat apprehensive at the possibility of any more bad news.
"It's the 501st!" He exclaimed. "Comms have been down for a while and it took the boys and I some time to get any word from them, but..."
"Waxer, slow down soldier." Cody warned, trying to make sure the other didn't collapse from lack of oxygen.
"Yes sir..." Waxer took a deep breath before regaining composure and carrying on. "The boys and I got through the comms issues. It's... They took over the base and have been holding down the fort. The Umbaran supply ship that blew up? That was the 501st's doing. But... Canivete, a ton of them are gone. More than half that are still alive are sick with the same symptoms our men are suffering with. But they have little to no medical supplies on them..."
The General and Commander exchanged concerned looks, while Canivete bit her lip as she tried to process what Waxer was telling her. So they weren't the only ones facing this mystery illness. And from what he'd just said, it seemed like the 501st was considerably worse off.
"Why do I feel like there's something else?" She dared ask. And to her horror, Waxer nodded in confirmation at her conjecture.
"There is... Krell's dead." Waxer grimly stated. "And from what we managed to get out of Appo, it was one of Rex's men that ripped him apart..."
