The classic before and after and the bit in between. I’d always been into fitness throughout my 20’s and 30’s. I had my first child at the age of 37, which is the picture on the left, taken about 8 weeks later. I had put on over 3 stone in my pregnancy, I did manage to loose the majority of the baby weight, but by that point I fell pregnant with baby number 2 at the age of 39. This time it was harder to shift, I had a two year old and a baby, but I desperately wanted to feel like me again. I wanted to get to the gym and start running, but I didn’t think someone as big as me could. I’d lost confidence and was embarrassed, what if people laughed at me, or sniggered whilst i wobbled around. I did feel all those things but I was determined not to let it stop me. I missed running, I missed the freedom it gave me, the air in my lungs ( which at times felt they would burst with over use), but the more I went out the more my confidence grew, every few weeks I’d increase the distance or maybe go a bit quicker... it didn’t matter I was back out feeling good. The weight did come off and I’m now a 1:1 Diet Consultant with Cambridge Weight Plan, and I want to reassure all of you who can relate to my story, I can help you too 🏃‍♀️❤️🏃🏿. The picture on the right is me in October this year, about to head out to do my first ever marathon, which was the Virtual London Marathon, which I ran in 04:13:57. It's a "No" for me. But I'm not disappointed. I have been lucky enough to have run @londonmarathon three times, twice for charity in 2016 and 2017 and then through the ballot this year but chose to fundraise for @tommys_thebabycharity, and could not have asked for better support. . I say it every year but to be honest this year was my favourite thanks for my RUN Marathon Group (a few pictured) and the memories we made at The Expo dressed as superheroes. 🦸‍♀️🦸🏻‍♂️🦸🏻‍♂️ These were the funniest and the best memories from bumping into @martinyelling and @run.robla.run who had spotted his old friend @official_captain_beany (and myself), to stopping to pose for the Japanese tourists. I couldn't top this day with out them all being part of it too. . The run was my slowest but, I didn't care, I love to run slowly, or as in this case, Jeff with our pacer Dutch Daniel and it eased any pressure off as I was never in this for time, not wanting to miss a second. There were so many funny and emotional moments. . Slow runners remember, there is more fun at the back of the bus so don't stress about pace. This is also a day to enjoy. . I'll be there cheering on all of my friends and handing out the hi fives for the 40th London Marathon. The best marathon on the planet. .
