Favorite DAMAGE DEALING moves
5.) U-Turn - Excellent pivot move. Though more common in Singles than Doubles, U-Turn can provide a quick getaway whilst dealing damage at the same time. This can create interesting momentum and can even provide opportunity to trick up your opponent with a sudden switch. The reason why U-Turn ranks higher than similar moves such as Volt Switch or Parting Shot is because it is a much more widely available move and has no type immunities that would otherwise block the move.
4.) Earthquake - A staple of offense since the early days of competitive battle. A powerful Ground-Type move that targets the entire field. Ground has historically been one of the more popular types in competitive battle— both in offense and defense. And while there may be more optimal moves nowadays, none have been as reliable and longstanding as Earthquake. Its biggest drawback is that it will target your own teammate, but this can be easily mitigated by proper planning.
3.) Rock Slide - A Rock-Type attack that targets the opposing Pokemon on the field, with a chance to make them flinch. The fact that this move has the opportunity to flinch both of the opponent’s Pokemon is what set this move so high above the rest. And unlike Earthquake, this move cannot be blocked by type immunity. In fact, this move can be used in tandem with Earthquake, as it is super-effective against Flying and Ice, two types that are either immune or resist Ground.
2.) Knock Off - A Dark-Type attack that doubles in power when the target is holding an item, knocking it out of their hold and rendering it useless for the duration of the battle. As held items provide such a crucial part of competitive battle, the ability to heavily punish your opponent and remove it can be critical to the outcome of a match.
1.) Fake Out - I already explained this. In a tier of both status and offense, there is a reason that Fake Out was one of the only offensive moves to make the list. It is that good of a move.

What are your psychic abilities if you dont mind me asking?
…Receiving an ask like this feels strange. I have never believed that I would be entertaining such a question of my own will, let alone the idea of being asked this by anyone who was not a psychic themselves. I find myself unsure of how to feel about this.
Nevertheless, I suppose there is no harm in answering.
Before I begin, I believe it is important that I preface this by establishing that not all psychics are created equal. While some abilities— such as telepathy and telekinesis— are fairly common amongst psychics, they are not guaranteed. There are a myriad of factors that can affect or determine one’s capabilities: genetics, guidance in learning, physical and mental health, frequency of practice, etc.
Baring this in mind, I will move forwards and list the abilities I am aware of. I am willing to go into greater depth of the specifics of said abilities if prompted.
Telepathy
Telekinesis
Teleportation
Illusion
Precognition
A trait unique to our family in which very vague memories are passed down.

wait why was he pulled out of class?
I am not about to divulge all of the details on this site to strangers on the internet. All I can say is that an important student is missing.

Well, that explains the pillow training incident back and forth conversation feeling off to me. Gotta compliment you on your ability to keep your cover logically consistent. Handy skill.
Lying is an important skill to have as a hidden psychic. Frankly, I am more out of my element speaking publicly about it than I am keeping quiet.

is The Nuisance (sableye) behaving so far with some of your relatives showing up?
Frankly, I anticipate what may happen when Selena and Isabelle arrive tomorrow. They will be bringing a feast for the beast.

If you don't mind me asking. Does that mean you're keeping the sableye?
It is currently in our custody whilst we figure out what to do about it. We very well cannot release it into the wild, as it is not originally from Paldea. It would be a waste of time and money to send it on a plane back to Alola for the sole purpose of dropping it off where we found it— a place that it was likely never meant to be in the first place, mind you.
This does not mean that I am claiming ownership of it. It simply means that, for the time being, it is being held as a resident of the Velasco estate.

Cocomelon is a show for young children. It's often criticized for relying heavily on flashy, overstimulating visuals while offering little to none of the intellectual stimulation a developing child needs. The previous anon is making a joke about sableye being like a small child that is addicted to it's tablet.
Unfortunate that children are being raised with such mindless drivel. They should be out beating one another with swords and sacrificing dolls in pyres of flame like god intended.

Missing?
So it seems. They haven’t been seen for almost two weeks now. It is of growing concern amongst figures of authority.

how’d it go on your end? esper mentioned you stopped her from getting poison jabbed?
Ah, yes. This.
Our story begins in the midst of the fray, the heart of the battle. Chaos had erupted all around us. Whilst the others were occupied with their own fights, my primary focus was keeping Esper safe from harm— psionic sensing can only do so much in the wake of total mayhem, after all.
Mounted atop Dias’ Cyclizar, she didn’t need to worry about dodging the attacks of the Pokémon fighting around her. All was well until Sharma’s Drakloak, armed with small origami beings atop his head, began attacking me directly, forcing me to divert my attention for the moment.
It was in that moment that, assumedly under the influence of the Nihilego’s neurotoxins, Sharma’s Lurantis managed to knock Esp off of the Cyclizar’s back. With her on the ground, it raised a poison-cloaked foreleg to the sky and prepared to strike her down.
But in the blink of an eye, I folded the planes of reality to teleport myself in her path and, with a forceful motion of my hand, repelled the Lurantis’ arm backwards with such force that it struck itself with its own Poison Jab. I quickly sent it flying backwards after the fact to prevent it from trying to attack again, allowing Esper a moment to catch her breath and recover from being knocked off of a running Cyclizar.
We then quickly returned to the battle, rejoining the ensuing chaos.

Good evening! I do hope you are having a good day today. I am sending this message to let you know to not misuse your abilities to cheat on exams, although your powers are cool you should still make an effort to exercise your mind the traditional way.
You would not be able to tell if I did or did not. You would not be able to do anything even if I did.

what kind of training are you doing?
Caldeira asked that I train them to better prepare them for the upcoming trip into Ultra Space. I am placing less of an emphasis on the rules of league-oriented battle and moreso on keeping a level head in the wake of imminent danger that cannot be run from.
Ergo, I am putting them through unconventional training methods that are more akin to my own.

Kinda odd she didn't take your strategy into consideration
These are the options that I have narrowed down myself. I have taken my own strategy into account. Unfortunately, not many Pokémon can fill the specific niche that a Hatterene can.

oh what did you enjoy about the celebration? since you mentioned that you had a good time this year
Most of the adults were more focused on getting wine drunk than they were criticizing one another or their nieces and nephews. And after making it clear that I would not tolerate any of their usual behavior in the presence of guests, the majority of my cousins opted to leave me alone this year. Possibly because this was the first time that Esper and her brother have been in attendance in the last 9 years. Much harder to get away with anything when I am sticking close to her for the majority of the party.

oh yeah, speaking of the holidays, both you and jaime have mentioned something about the solstice? whats up with that?
Ah. I suppose without proper context, such emphasis on the solstice may seem odd to those outside of our universe.
It is important to preface with the fact that while psychics here do not have a unified international cultural identity, there have been many superstitions surrounding psychics or similar supernatural elements attributed to Psychic Types in several cultures throughout history. One example of this is the Johtonian superstition that psychics and Psychic types derived their power from the sun and its light. The belief stems from a legend that explains that Espeon's psychic power was bestowed upon it by Ho-Oh, the deity of the sun in Johtonian mythos. Naturally, the superstition that psychic power is derived from the sun expanded into the belief that their power grows and wanes with the presence of the sun itself— that psychics are at their most powerful at noon and weakest in twilight, and that they are at the peak of their strength on the summer solstice and at their absolute weakest during the winter solstice.
Alfornadan myth attributes the psychic power of Pokemon to celestial bodies— the sun, the moon, and the stars. Both astronomy and astrology were a large part of Alfornada's culture, and as such, the solstices and equinoxes were deemed of cultural importance.
Thus, the Velascos, being a family that has resided in Alfornada for centuries, has made a tradition of celebrating the solstices with large parties. Publicly, we attribute the reason for our celebration to connecting with our Alfornadan roots. But to us, the celebration also celebrates the survival of psychic culture as a whole. We may not be able to celebrate it publicly, but we can at least celebrate it amongst ourselves.
... Aside from that, I was also born on the winter solstice. Thus, the celebration also doubles as my birthday.

Oh yeah, think I've seen that other gal you were talking with talk about using abilities on multiple orbs of water as default training mode or something. Also something about "air is a fluid" in a shitpost about being the Avatar? That makes sense.
The what?
