Lil Kim Possible doodle from earlier this year! I was visiting a friend of mine and her family, and in the evenings we would watch Kim Possible which brought back a bunch of nostalgia for me 😭 I doodled this during a span of a few episodes and colored later! I sorta mashed up both the OG style (which I cannot replicate, Stephen Silver is incredible) and my own. It was nice to do something so quick and not overthink it. I later did a second version in her spy outfit for a convention, which ended up doing super well! Should I do more Kim Possible art?? 👀

Tsukasa is a Styracosaurus because I made Saki a Stellosaurus which is another ceratopsian and also its frill is like vaguely star shaped kinda sorta not really

I don't have much to say about him so can i just mention how awful that Stellasaurus drawing is.

Yeah only recently did i start figuring out how the fuck to draw decent ceratopsians I am so sorry (the struggle is real i almost accidentally gave tsukasa 2 left feet here i swear i know what i'm doing)

I should redo that Saki at some point, girl deserves so much better than that wonkey crap. speaking of ceratopsians i opted out of giving him protofeathers unlike Saki idk they just didn't look right on him you can kinda go either way with most ceratopsians so i just do it when the vibe fits and don't when the vibe doesn't fit

Rui is a Troodon because Troodons are often associated with intelligence because they have the biggest brain to skull ratio of any dino, there's kinda no real way to know how intelligent dinos were but troodon just has the reputation of the smart dinosaur and people often depict them using tools like how crows do and that's like kinda like how rui does robot stuff, he also just fits the raptor shape sorta i feel like raptors have that sorta look to them that is like a similar vibe to the one Rui has, even tho Rui is the tallest character in sekai I feel like he's a mid sized dinosaur, does that make sense? no, but it does to me and i make the rules he's also 100% a feathered dino so it fits

Speaking of Troodon all you 2 paleo nerds reading this are getting war flashbacks from the name Troodon because Troodon itself has a interesting history of being a "wastebasket taxon" which is nerd talk for "scientists just threw a bunch of vaguely similar animals into this one category and didn't consider that maybe this was like 5 different animals and what would be the long term consequences of doing that" yes this is a thing that has happened enough times that there is a word for it

that shit still as of now isn't sorted out I don't think, I at least based my Troodon off the big one from Alaska that literally does not have a fucking name and is just like "the Alaska Troodon". I feel like the size fits and imma be real its the Troodon you see everywhere in media these days because its big and cool and it lived with Pachyrhinosaurus and Nanuqsaurus and also people like it cuz drawing dinosaurs in the snow is fucking awesome (boom i just tricked you into learning paleontology history)

Emu is an Archeopteryx because Emu is supposed to be like a phoenix and Archeopteryx could probably fly or glide or smth it's general considered like "the first bird" so like yeah (now that i think about it i could've made her pyroraptor cuz of the name but also she doesn't fit the vibes of a raptor at all i guess pyroraptor has the whole fire bird thing from its name) Emu would also be a small feathered dinosaur for sure so it fits in that sense too.

Nene is a Stegosaurus because the plates kinda look like her hair thing and her outfit in general and i feel like nene would have those tail spikes for some reason idk it just fits her energy, she'd def be a herbivore as well i feel. Also i personally just associate stegosaurus with the color green personally idk why (at first i was thinking she would be iguanodon because that's another dinosaur that's green in my head but she has like nothing in common with iguanodon lmao)

I guess nenerobo would be an Ankylosaurus than because that would like probably be the logical robot version of a stegosaurus maybe idk would nenerobo exist in this universe, you decide idk

i guess next one is that last one unless i wanna redo the vocaloids in this style or redraw saki at some point or whatever see you whenever that happens in however long it takes

HI THERE. It's been a minute, sorry about that lol. I took a tiny out-of-nowhere and sorta involuntary break from the fandom because I lost interest for a second, but I'm slowlyyyy making my way back. With art, and some news about Tone Deaf for the people who are still wondering about that.

As stated, I momentarily lost a bit of interest with this movie- partially because I've recently been ensnared in a new fixation that will not be named right now, but yeah. I'm digging my heels in rn, because the last thing I wanna do is abandon this project. But, also, I've clearly bitten off more than I can chew with this being a comic lmao. In over my head and going through all 5 stages of grief and currently on acceptance.

The story got bigger. Like, a LOT bigger. Too big to capture every thought in a drawing and panel it and put it out as a perfectly polished comic without seriously burning myself out. It really doesn't help that my art style evolves by the second too apparently, so I've reached a middle-ground:

Tone Deaf is going to be a fic with some comic-like segments in it. An illustrated fanfic bc I still love showing and not telling a little too much.

This'll help me not only get stuff out faster, but also to help me fill in the gaps I didn't know how to draw with just text. So I can focus on just drawing the juicy shit. This also means it'll all be collected over on Ao3 in a neat little package, and I honestly prefer that over having a bunch of posts of pages that might be hard to find. So yeah, that's the plan.

Another bonus is that the frames can now be a lot more polished and nice looking [in glorious color] rather than hastily mashed together due to my bad habit of going overboard on singular frames without realizing it.

psst hey do u have any sdv mod reccs/any tips on how to use them 👀

yeah! so for stardew mods to work you need to first install the smapi api.

you can either do that through their main website or nexus

neither option has any cons theyre just based on preference on how you wanna install it but theyre both completely safe websites.

after you properly install smapi you’ll have to go to nexus which is the main website for all stardew valley mods. you’ll need to make an account to install stuff i believe. you can find a wide range of mods here that serve a lot of different purposes.

if you haven’t used nexus to mod before then as i mentioned before first make an account then once you are looking at a mod make sure to check the requirements first. sometimes mods need other mods to work and you need to install those first. after you checked the requirements you head to the files section and click manual download. after that select slow download then wait for it to install into your files. then you move those files into the stardew mod folder. if thats not clear enough you can find a bunch of tutorial videos on youtube with visuals:)

since you asked for my recs i’ll give you the list of which i actually use all the time.

NPC Map Locations

- very basic mod. majority of mod users will have this installed and it just shows you on the map where each npc is at at all times.

CJB Cheats Menu & CJB Item Spawner

- these two sorta go hand in hand for me but of course you don’t need to have both installed. this is definitely a play style preference thing but i personally like having these cheats installed for any type of situation that might happen in game that i can’t undo otherwise without them.

- the cheats menu adds a lot more flexibility and well cheats to the game so for instance: infinite health, infinite stamina, give yourself money, instantly increase hearts with whichever npc, always catch every fish, warp locations, change weather, change time, freeze time, and a lot more. this uses the P key to open in game but you can configure that to another bind if you’d like.

- the item spawner is a lot more simple. does what it says and spawns whichever item you want. so basically you can press the i key and it’ll open up a menu with every item in the game and you can spawn in the specific amount you want of something and so forth. simple concept. i mainly use this for when i accidentally sell or gift an item i wasnt intending to and then simply spawn it back in. i also use it for decorating my house:3

Look Up Anything

- this is literally like having the wiki at your disposal at all times in game. extremely helpful for so many reasons especially as i personally always had the wiki open to check for information on items and npcs so having this mod made it a lot quicker of a process. how it works is you simply hover your mouse over whatever you want information on and click f1 and it’ll display all the information about that thing to you! so if you hover over lets say harvey and press f1 it’ll show you a menu with his birthday, his love & like gifts, your hearts with them and how many points till the next heart, etc.

Seasonal Outfits

- this mod puts all the npcs in different outfits for the seasons. its just cute

Elle’s Seasonal Buildings & DaisyNiko’s Earthy Recolor

- the seasonal building allows a lot more variety in structures like farm building and adding holiday decor to npc buildings. simple stuff that can make the game more customized

- with seasonal buildings you can also install compatible recolors which is what the DaisyNiko’s link is. it’s the recolor i personally use for my main farm when i play. this is because the vanilla game is very saturated and does hurt my eyes so having more chilled out tones helps. you dont need to install the recolor i use or any in fact if you like the natural look of the game but just know the option is there and there’s a multitude of recolors you can use to make the game look different:3

Friends Forever

- no friendship decay because itsa pain in the ass and i have no time to talk to the npcs all day. this is very play style based some people enjoy having to go and ensure they speak to npcs daily im just not the type.

Part of The Community

- creates different ways for you to gain hearts easier and passively

Mailbox Menu & Zilch’s Envelopes

- i really like the letters and the fact you can only read them once bummed me out until i found this mod which adds a whole menu for your mail where you can go back and see all the letters you’ve received. feel like it adds that additional touch and care to the whole mail system in the game.

- then to go along with that menu theres the envelopes mod that customizes it even further and makes all the envelopes of the letters have cute appearances and designs. look at this and tell me that isn’t the best thing you’ve ever seen.

in conclusion…

I really suggest just taking the time and scrolling through the nexus mods website on your own. they have a specific category for stardew and you can filter it by most popular and see what you find yourself. since everyone plays differently you might find you enjoy the more technical code side and want to change something to do with that or you might just simply wanna change the npc portraits and make them look nicer. theres so many options on how to mod this game and i honestly could go on forever with mod suggestions but at the end of the day its up to you! so hope this helps and i hope you have a fun time modding.

TIME FOR THE LONG ASS 2024 REVIEW

i am once again gonna review each highlighted piece i have made in 2024 so far like last year even though it's sort of unnecessary i have a bit to commit to

JANUARY

jan's piece is my smash poster celebrating the 25TH anniversary! this after i got rlly into making giant multi-character ensemble pieces, and i've wanted to do a poster like this to celebrate smash, so i'm glad i was able to step up to plate. usually i think my art from january ages pretty bad in these reviews, but i actually still like it from the composition, colors, and the drawings of the characters. i still have the print of it hanging in my room! ^o^ other highlights from the month is the complimentary poster i did with smash ultimate's dlc cast... well i kinda mention that out of obligation because i actually do think this one aged like ass, mainly the shading on the characters looking pretty bad (especially as a print). i think i shoulda saved this idea for later in the year to time it with smash ultimate's release day of december 7 (i am extremely deadline-pilled) but i probably wouldn't have cared by then so i just did it like, immediately after the 64 poster. so it probably smacks of burnout + i can't shade with blue that well

FEBRUARY

this one sorta represents seven whole drawings i did for one series. it's my seven piece set of artworks based on mothy's evillious chronicles, and i chose rilliane's because i think at the time i was putting this together i thought she came out the best (i began assembling this starting april 2024 lol), but idk! i still think she's pretty solid but i think she's tied up with kayo and banica. one thing's for sure, i know sateriasis is my least favorite of the bunch by a wide ass margin, i really wish i executed it better! not much other interesting highlights for this month besides my other vocaloid art series, the alice of human sacrifice ace cards. i think they aged alright but again this is another idea that i wanna execute better in the future.

MARCH

oh boy another series!!! this was part of my four part series redrawing the crossed paths artwork from octopath traveler ii. i chose the one featuring partitio and osvald because it was my favorite at the time. i still think it aged pretty nicely but it has some rendering hiccups that rlly bother me but in terms of colors/the background i still like it. if i had to pick a new favorite, it might go to throné and tenemos or cassti and ochette. another notable highlight of this year was a piece of oc art i made. i need to do something unabashedly overdramatic and angsty with my ocs again cuz i still like this one too. i think i opted out of selecting this one to highlight since cropping a face was kinda awkward lol.

APRIL

an overdramatic oc art has been highlighted! another one i like (it's almost like i picked my best for this chart). it was sorta the origin of me using my favorite watercolor brush in procreate to have an extremely rough idea of the colors that naturally blend together, creating a pretty cohesive palette when i render it (which is the current basis for how i render in my current style). april otherwise is kinda boring idk i don't like a lot of the other drawings here lol. this utsu-p album redraw ft robin is still pretty cool tho imo.

MAY

i feel like i had some nice variety to pick from, but i chose my improvisational and edgy grima drawing since i think stylistically it stands out the most. i found my new favorite sketching/doodling pencil brush in procreate and made a whole drawing using it, and the texture is so niiiice. other highlights: COOL OC ART (ft kandy). part of me feels like it's kinda corny but i was born on da cob so whatever, this one was fun and i still like it!!! there was also my art based on bad end night. i'm a tiny bit mixed on the rendering/colors, idk i was experimenting with a different brush for lining and shading and the slight difference in texture makes it a little weird but that is shit that only matters to me. i think it's a hell of a lot better than the bad end night drawing i made back in 2022, so in terms of "redemption" i think it was successful.

JUNE

kind of a boring month tbh, i got miitopia-pilled again so i was probably busy playing that this month + i was home for the summer and i am extremely lazy when i am at home lol. but to compliment the dive back in my miitopia era i made a sorta sketchy drawing with kandy as my great sage. check it, it's another with my new pencil brush, and i definitely remember having fun with this one (though her robe physics kinda make no sense based on how i drew her ref, i never look at my refs for my ocs/i usually break their designs to fit certain poses silhouettes 💀💀💀). uh i guess the one other interesting piece (imo) from this month was my giant miitopia poster that i was too chicken shit to share proper until recently (if you missed the edit where you can fully see it, there ya go). it's kinda oversaturated vomit and i'm not crazy proud of the execution but it was ambitious and kandy's section still looks really good imo so it has value in that regard to me.

JULY

i participated in my first artfight this july! i drew many cool ocs. by about the halfway mark i got hella burnt out tho and started doing my own stuff to freshen things up (it was also around here when galasynth entered production and i met MANY AMAZING VOCALOID ARTISTS!!! SHOUTOUT TO THOSE MUTUALS :)))))). for this month i chose my poster based on touhou eosd since i think this might be the most gracefully aged piece the whole year (it's probably my favorite!!). the colors just came out real nice.... idk!! a notable piece from this month that couldn't be posted in july cuz of zine nda's was my actual galasynth piece. this was a pretty significant piece since it permanently altered my current rendering/coloring workflow (sorta established in the highlighted piece in april but now with lineart and with a differently textured brush). the touhou poster was created shortly after as a response to this new workflow! other one of note was my perfect cherry blossom poster

AUGUST

brave frobin's design for feh was revealed and i drew it 😼😼😼 (AND I CALLED IT earlier this month. not that i needed to use a lotta braincells but). this was a further step in practicing my new rendering style and see how detailed and meticulous i could get with the colors when i had ONE character to focus on with NO background and i think it was pretty successful. though im glad i posted the wip cuz the colors were probably better there than the rendered... what overthinking does to a mf. another banger from this month was a piece of oc art, it's nothing special but it was a rendered panel redraw of an unpublished comic i made of them and i liked it so yeah. (i also posted my decora una drawing this month which was my scrapped concept for galasynth, but according to my notes it was actually finished in july... but shoutouts to it regardless)

SEPTEMBER

aaaagh this month didn't have much goin on, probably cuz i went back to school around here and the work was getting crazy 💀💀 but i still found time to make something i'm proud of! i drew my oc based on a twitter prompt a mutual of mine shared and i reeeaaally still like it!! especially the details on the corals waow... (i don't really have much else from this month that i consider noteworthy enough to mention here so :P)

OCTOBER

spooky art!!!!! i didn't have much interesting going on this month because again i got very academically demanded of and didn't have much time to draw, BUT i vowed to make a tribute piece to "trick&treat" by oster project for halloween, so i hauled ass to get something ready for that and to have ONE traditional drawing this year (yeah i didn't draw a lot on paper this year unfortunately ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️). other highlights: a traditional drawing of gekiyaku pills for vsynthtober which i did a whole two prompts of (you just saw all of them) + a digital drawing of geki (i really started to like gekiyaku around this time). as much as i still like the latter's colors and texture it sorta started a bad trend where i sorta just drew characters from the shoulders up with not much pose to speak of + no interesting background just for the sake of coloring it. not that it's completely devoid of value but it was a pattern i was starting to get a little to comfortable with. i'll touch more on this in the closing thoughts section, but this new rendering style did sorta hinder my want to experiment with my digital rendering styles compared to previous years where i prided myself on having a bunch.

NOVEMBER

BOTH of my favorite pieces from this month fall in the same trap as the thing i mentioned above. i picked my drawing of hibiki koto for the chart since the pastels added a nice value shakeup. i STILL LIKE IT, it's nice, but did perpetuate this bad habit/shortcut. the other one was my drawing of great sage kandy (current pfp!). the colors here are pretty fuckin nice still imo, so as a coloring tech demo like this flavor of drawing i was doing i think it succeeded.

DECEMBER

AND FINALLY, the end of the year. i finished my december piece early in the year kinda just to check the box off and get this chart off my back (a totally normal thing people do when drawing art throughout the year). i have wanted to do a legacy of lunatic kingdom poster like my eosd one for a while after falling in love with its ost, but it just felt scary. the characters were very detailed and also there were moreeee 😭😭😭 but i got myself to do it cuz i found myself tempted to fall in the same trap as described in october/november (i was gonna draw koishi with the same crop/thought for the bg/emphasis on rendering. you might see her done by the end of the year), but i was like "NO, i must earn this laziness" and finally did something ambitious again. and yeah, i think i did pretty good with this one, even if the crowding of characters and details is sorta unruly.

ok so maybe i'm a little artistically constipated rn

doing this thorough review has sorta gotten me worried. i talked about this in my review last year, but i wondered if my progress has plateaued since i liked a lot of my art throughout the year and didn't see much significant improvement. but looking back no i definitely improved from 2023, and i'd say i broke some new ground with experiments i did throughout the year (the piece from december is still my banner!!). i also had a few different digital rendering styles i played around with for some variety.

this year, after the completion of my galasynth piece, i got really stuck in a specific rendering style and didn't rlly experiment that much with shaking it up. i also didn't feel compelled to try doing solid lineart or rough paintings, and i got stuck in a "halfbody with basic poses and backgrounds" pit when i know i can do better and more cool if i just TRIED.

i am writing this pretty early in december so hopefully i can bring something new to the table..... idk, maybe the differences in my digital coloring styles are only visible to me, but i certainly notice this repetition and wanna break out of my current bubble! i am working on a collab piece that should go live by spring next year that will hopefully do this :) (and i certainly won't be abandoning my current style, at least not overnight/without trying to evolve it, cuz i really like it and have received many kind compliments from people about it! so thank you thank you!!!!)

i look back at some of my pieces from last year and earlier this year and see some variety in how i go about rendering or textures or colors and wanna go back to that. so that'll be my goal for the rest of december + 2025!!!!! ^_^

anyway that's that, it was a good year despite my current crisis, i think i made some good art. also don't be like me and feel obligated to make nice art every month for an aesthetic chart, i do it cuz i draw fast and i am easily satisfied by them. take breaks touch grass drink water, play and draw. yay!

2d games: sonic mania is a good starting point i think, also the original trilogy (particularly 2 and 3&k) (you COULD play them through origins which would also let you play as amy!!! but origins isn't the best so. probably go for an alternative)

3d games: there's been different kinds of 3d sonic gameplay over the years sooo:

sonic adventure 1 and 2 are both good albeit kinda janky. haven't played much of 1 but can attest that 2 is fun and also has shadow the hedgehog

(pro tip: most sonic games range from kinda janky to mega janky)

i personally love sonic colors (the wii version) which is boost style gameplay. i believe it's one of the better 3d sonics tho by no means perfect

sonic unleashed just got a rly good pc port and also has mods to play as transfem sonic and. donkey kong lol

i wouldn't suggest playing sonic and the black knight for a few reasons (namely jank) BUT lorewise it's quite popular in the sonic fandom so watching the cutscenes would be cool. shadow is lancelot isnt that epic sauce

sonic x shadow generations is fantastic!! combo of sonic generations (which is a solid game and has a mix of 2d and 3d style gameplay) and shadow generations which is one of my favorite games of all time. also one of the least janky

sonic 06 also has a pc port/sorta remake called project 06 which is probably the best way to play it because 06 is notoriously buggy. even though it doesn't actually canonically happen it does introduce silver and has rly good shadow characterization

sonic heroes is also pretty important lorewise so play it or watch the cutscenes or something idk. it has neo metal in it <3

and finally for games play the murder of sonic the hedgehog because it's good and fun and free on steam 👍 barry the quokka my beloved

anyway moving on to other media

shows:

sonic prime doesn't have the best writing but i think it's pretty good and it also has good shadow characterization. also it's really fucking gay

there's also sonic boom which is episodic and i got bored after 1 episode ngl. the youtube compilations of funny moments are the best parts of that show

finally sonic underground which i haven't seen and is an older cartoon but is apparently really good

comics:

idw is the most accessible bc it only has 77 issues so far + specials and annuals however characterization is variable.... amy and silver are great but shadow SUUUUCKS

the dc crossover only has 1 issue out so far and it's not perfect but it's pretty fun. batman immediately clocks shadow as having seen a loved one die in front of him which is hilarious

archie is a hellish maze there's so many issues and overlapping side series with the main comic and you have to deal with ken penders echidna bullshit so not recommended unless you're in really deep like me

and then fleetway idk anything about i havent gotten there yet. it's british and amy is a butch who wears a kilt and uses a crossbow

also some games have tie-in comics like frontiers and. team sonic racing for some reason

movies: personally. i do not like the movies. primarily because paramount is a piece of shit but there are several other reasons i can elaborate on if you really wanna know

youtube stuff:

a bunch of the games have tie-in animated shorts on youtube (frontiers, shadow gens, colors, and mania and maybe some others im forgetting) which are all good and have amazing animation. shadow generations dark beginnings and the sonic mania adventures shorts are my personal favorites

chao in space bcus it's adorable. in a similar vein the first episode of chao tales came out today which i am going to go watch right after i finish writing this ask

twitter takeovers because it's fun to hear the characters talk about random shit. shadow agrees to marry a fan. it's great

Good to see Date doing well. Kinda surprised Adachi and him are pals. Serena being the base of operations once again, I shouldn't be surprised.

I'm gonna be fr; CAN WE BLOW THIS TOWER UP?? Like properly?? Ever since the damn thing was built (AND before it, since the Empty Lot was the ground underneath it), it's been nothing but a place for bloodshed. Almost like it's cursed and needs blood sacrifices to keep itself going. Now, I'm not trying to blame the tower, but... something's up. It needs to go.

Kinda curious to see where the whole security firm business goes. Sounds... weird right now, but I'll let RGG cook. Kinda hard to imagine Majima sticking around for something like that, but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he'll stay for Saejima and Daigo. Who knows.

Kiryu will probably fuck off somewhere again because of the contract, so I'm not even gonna speculate what's gonna happen with him. For all I know he's going back to driving a taxi in Nagasugai. Or maybe he'll go live in a forest somewhere far away and live as a hunter-gatherer in isolation. Nothing would surprise me at this point. Kinda sorta hoping he'll vibe with Watase for a while, but that's pretty much as likely as Majima growing another eye.

Ichiban staying with his team was a given, but it was still relieving to hear it from the man himself.

NOW. How did I like the game?

Uhhh... How do I put this. Fuck it, I'll be honest: NOT one of my favourites. The battle system is a MASSIVE part of that.

I'm just gonna say it now: I didn't enjoy the fights in the game. As soon as I got Hariti's Amulet, I never took it off. I just couldn't be bothered to put up with all that. I didn't find fights thrilling or engaging - not even boss battles - besides a few select situations. Those situations being Kiryu switching styles and the Majima + Saejima combo. And, unfortunately for this game, fights tend to be a big part of these games. So yeah.

The plot? Solid enough, I suppose? I didn't really feel drawn-in before chapter 12, but it was... okay. Didn't blow my mind, but also not bad by any metric. About the middle ground (or slightly above it) for what I've seen from the games this far. I know a lot of people love the plot and I can definitely see why! Idk what my issue was, but it is what it is. Maybe I'll watch just the cutscenes at some point and re-evaluate.

(new) characters? Cool. It was interesting having a whole squad after spending so much time solo in the previous games. The group dynamics were cool. I do feel like Joon-gi and Zhao didn't really have too much interaction with the rest of the group besides Ichiban? Yeah, the convos on the street were nice enough, but besides that, I honestly can't remember those two interacting too much with the others in a more casual setting? Idk, maybe my memory is just overloaded rn. I might be remembering it all totally wrong and forgetting stuff. Overall a nice group. Cozy vibes fr.

Favourite newbies... Saeko and Adachi. Maybe a bit random, but I just clicked with them the most. But I do have to give shoutouts to Eri and Joon-gi for pretty much cutting battle time by 75% with their devastating Divine Shot + Darts Airstrike combo. Not too many lucky survivors around after that.

Another huge shoutout to the hundreds of Invested Vagabonds I tore apart for exp. I will never be able to repay my debt to their kind. RIP kings 🫡

Soundtrack slapped. Substories were fun; among TOP3 games when it comes to those. Picking up bugs was relaxing, so shoutout to the bugs too.

All in all? It was okay! Probably not gonna replay the game because of how much the battle system frustrated me. Yes, even the infamous blockuza 3 surpasses this one in my books. If you enjoyed the battle system in this game, that's cool and valid! It just wasn't my cup of tea. Not gonna go into specific details in this post. Feel free to ask if you want said details. When I started the game, I did make it clear that I'm very picky about turn-based stuff, so y'all were warned.

Man push ups this week were rough in terms of actually being consistent with them. Too many fucking distractions and bad days and just overall misscheduling. It's not too bad tho because on the 1 day it turned out perfect i managed to crank out 50. And even writing that is such a fucking thrill. We got halfway to the goal in 1 month. Its so euphoric.

I am just gonna have to start competing against myself aren’t I? I guess its just a bad time of year for it. Everyones tired and tuckered out and in fairness so am I. New year means a mental refresh and reset, so i’ll be more structured in this one in january. Which sounds like the kind of New years res bs you normally hear. But i’m serious (famous last words)

Nothing to throw out this week but I did FINALLY get that rawgear drop. Its actually very nice and is a good set of replacements for what I’m planning to discontinue as well as some new styles that i wanna try out, like this sleeveless hoodie.

 Fewer opportunities to do this one but the times that I did were super fun. I tried to give brah Jockrs a lesson on it and he got some of it down, but only a few aspects at a time. Truly he just ended up breaking down giggling at the way Americans say Cock lol.

Baki was also a bit shaky this week ngl. i just had several days where the cut was taking its toll and my energy levels were stuck. And then some of the days i had some other more pressing matters to deal with which will be elaborated in Set C

There’s this dude i’ve seen around occasionally since I started. He’s not a super regular but he looks amazing. Shredded, lean, cut. Calisthenics type build. Gorgeous blond bro with a beard,  almost stereotypically good looking. I’ve seen him sorta training other folks. He’s always had this super cocky aura whenever I saw him. Would always be smirking and chatting up a bunch of girls he randomly seemed to know. And when I was more insecure it did also feel like he was showing off and being a bit of a douche on purpose around my former fatass self. Which is kinda hot. But it didn't make me feel good.

Well on a really nice heavy pull day i was sitting waiting for a machine to free up and HE came up to ME and started chatting. He told me that I was looking so much better than I was a year ago. We talked a bit and he said he wants to be a PT but is kinda just doing it unofficially. Got his name, Liam. Very golden retriever.

The shitty thing is; despite looking almost 25 i’d say, the fucker is only 17. That was a little heartbreaking. Obviously we’re training for different goals and different ideals and there’s no real competition between us. But come on, that's catfishing at that point lol.

An additional point. Which sounds a little woo woo This was the day that I received some new pheromone cologne. So I like to think that had a little effect in making me more approachable.

Hi hello! It's very kind that you're reaching out here like this! 💖 It made me happy to see when I noticed, which admittedly took awhile (I'm so sorry!), because I have been very disconnected from everything lately!

This is kinda rambly so I'll give it a cut!

I am doing ALL RIGHT (right now, anyway, because before, I was doing TERRIBLY AHHHH like seriously some of the worst months of my life there for a bunch of stupid and also personally catastrophic reasons). I don't really want to get into all that because it's a huge bummer and it all REALLY SUCKED and I don't want to trauma dump! I'm sure I'll get into it a bit on my next author's note! BUT FEAR NOT, I'm not one of those people who gets upset even if people are like, "YO WHERE'S YOUR FIC" even if that was your intention -- long as it's respectful! It actually makes me more happy than anything to hear people still care about my story when I go into social hibernation mode 😭 selfishly my story means the world to me, so anytime anyone likes it, I'm like, yesssssss, my life is validated!

And on THAT front, I'm done with a chapter! I'm gonna do one quick and final pass-over edit and then it'll get posted tomorrow, either before or after work! (It's currently 11:00ish pm here in CST land, so expect it somewhere between like, idk, 8:30 AM and... 5? tomorrow??) Gonna take some brief time to ramble here because WHY NOT and also I AM ANXIOUS and gotta word vomit to STOP IT (it won't actually stop any of the anxiety BUT I CAN TRY) and am I really myself if I am not taking a short, sweet comment and using it to BLAB FOR DAYS???: it's not as long as my last couple of chapters because those 20k+ behemoths were exhausting as fuck to edit and really killed my drive to write. This is more my old style of 10-14k sorta chapters, and the one AFTER it is also actually written, too, it just needs a lot more editing. And then there's a TON of stuff after it I've also written too. In my long sabbatical, I basically let myself write scenes from parts of my fic as I was inspired to write them and not necessarily chronologically! This kinda resulted in me having TONS of shit written but nothing I could post, but it was also all I could really emotionally manage at the time. Between that and letting myself go back to smaller chapter sizes, I'm hoping it means I can go back to posting with a lot more regularity -- like, idk, once every week or two. I kept falling into this DUMB TRAP where I'd get anxious about a long portion of the story being more introspective/emotion-exploring than plot advancing and think, well, I have to hold on until I get some introspection AND some plot advancing moments, and that meant I'd end up with some INSANELY LONG CHAPTERS and editing those things made me really wanna walk directly into oncoming traffic. They were especially torture when I was NOT doing so hot on the brainmeat front, which is... OFTEN. Like who isn't emotionally and mentally a mess these days, the world is a DISASTER Anyway, long story short, I'm going to stop holding myself to arbitrary goals and allow myself to sometimes publish a chapter that's more about some horror-drenched domestic nightmare-fluff even if it doesn't have anything SUPER plot advancey at the moment because it's what makes me happy! AND HEY, character development is plot advancement too! (THAT'S WHAT I'M TELLING MYSELF ANYWAY AHHHH)

(In actuality I feel like I'm constantly terrified I'm letting the 20 people who consistently read my stuff down, but I gotta like, try really really hard to NOT think about that, HNNGH.)

I really think it'll be better for everyone tho. I'm more motivated to write when things don't take me a month and a half, because when it takes me a month and a half to write ONE CHAPTER I want to take a 7 year sabbatical not only from writing, but from life. I don't tend to get near as exhausted churning through smaller chapters though! Also, I hope you're reading on Ao3 and NOT FF.net cause I probably won't be posting there immediately! This chapter gets more overtly sexual than previous ones and I know FF.net isn't down for that so I gotta... find some way to edit it so it's not as heinous? Which is like HALF THE POINT OF THE CHAPTER, so I'm concerned! 🫠 Not that FF.net has any moderation anymore, but y'know, just in case! If you're like me where you're scared of talking to people and interacting with others, you're just gonna have to leave it up to luck whether people notice you or not lmao. That's what happened to me! I just posted my stupid doodles to the madness tags and didn't do much else and I ended up getting lucky in that a lot of people noticed me and a lot of people liked my shit.

Or you can just interact with a lot of people and you'll get your name out there that way! I'm too chicken shit to do that so I don't know how well that works personally lmao

Straight up, you just gotta conquer your nervousness over posting art. I was terrified of sharing my oc x canon stuff with Eb and Tricky publically but hey lo and behold people were really nice and encouraging about it. We successfully got candy on the plan, anyway right now we were getting ready for the dance and I was wearing a dress since there was really nothing but at least It fit the color scheme, me and chooch jumped off his bed and walked to Hash "hurry up with liceman outfit hash, we were supposed to have them outside his door an hour ago" chooch said as hash gave us the outfit them we walked out the door "Man I'm nervous" I said chuckling "Why?" He asked "I have to pretend I wanna sleep with lice" I said as he chuckled "At least you can sleep with someone else after" he said smirking as I made a surprised face "Chooch!" I said as we put the outfit out his door.

We walked into the dance a slow song was playing and I looked at him "May I have this dance?" I said smirking at him "You may " he said as he put his hands on my waist and I put my hands on his shoulders then I put my head on his chest as I put my hand In his as he put his free hand on my waist "you know this is my first dance with a guy" I said shyly "Really? 0% chance of me even coming close to finishing this but I started a New Pork City build on Minecraft

Actually my second attempt, originally I tried basically just going straight off the game

But it doesn't look that good, none of it is sized or styled in a way that feels good in minecraft, it feels very cold and empty to walk through, and my attempts to make it conform to the game's map makes my terrible scaling of everything wayyy more obvious XP (THE STEVE HEADS WERE A PLACEHOLDER i just didn't wanna bother looking for a bunch of custom heads that would fit ><)

So this new version I'm gonna try more to replicate the "spirit" of the game and make something that feels really cool and fits both Minecraft and the MOTHER 3 vibe :D rather than try to transplant a 2D game map to a 3D format

I miiight try sketching out a basic plan of the layout I have in mind, which'll be fairly different

Anyway here's some more stuff I've already built:

While I didn't like the direction I was going with this version, I do like how I did the fake buildings, so this sorta gives an idea of how I'll be doing them in the new version

How much I actually have done XP I've been struggling a lot with the big arch thingy (which I'm moving to be the entrance of the city) Minecraft reeeeally needs more gold blocks for building, copper is GREAT and they need to give more metals as much stuff as copper has

And my first (basically) completed building, Beauty & Tasty! Still needs some work on the walls and ceiling, but it's more or less finished Gives me an idea of the scale everything else will need to be at in the build It's MUCH larger than the first version I did, which was wayyy more cramped and sad

And of course I'll be including the King Statue that I already built ^^ (which would've been wayyyyyy too big at the scale the first version of the city was)

Soooo like I said, no way this'll ever come close to being done, but I'll post updates whenever I manage to make something significant!

How’s everythin goin, creator of Sensetale?

*sigh* I should probably stop accidently leaving y'all in the dark, so first off I've been fine, sensetale isn't canceled and I have been active... not on sensetale but active, I've been working on games had ideas for this and that and have been trying to make stuff and get better at sprite work and writing and stuff. I felt like my current writing style just wasn't going to make a story that people would relate to or feel good about, i love what i've done so far but after the ruins i felt like sensetale got a little messy and such and i just wanted to iron out some stuff despite all of the stuff going on. plus the next part of sensetale is going to have a lot of custom stuff and i... felt like the sprites i was making weren't good enough, i'm not sure if i'll end up remaking that area stuff but if i do it will be for the better, the other option is bringing people onto the team but a lot of asks for help haven't gone the best and so someone who could help with sprites feels sorta out of the question as i think all the people who could help have seen it and decided not to help. which is totally fine but it means progress is going to be slow. beyond that, i also... just have a life outside of this, work, paying rent, hanging out with friends, helping with projects, a bunch of stuff like that and unless a miracle happened i can't really sit around making stuff like i used to when i started sense back when i was... what like 17 or something?

despite general motivation loss from feeling like my work isn't good enough, i never have wanted sensetale to go unfinished i do wanna finish it one day and perhaps i'll be able to go into it at full force one day but it hasn't been like that for a while
