Could you make the characters' reference sheets in your AU because I'd like to see your design of the characters in Sensetale?

ya know i would love to but i really can't draw, a lot of my sprites are made by me but those i hyper focus on and have so few things to work with but with bigger canvases i get too shaky and have trouble making stuff look good, this isn't really anything new, i also have bad hand writing so this stuff sorta comes with the field, so while i have character concepts and stuff, none of it is drawn anywhere, i might have sprites of them but at most i have bad drawlings

Well! undertale pushing on got second place, i think that's pretty good! and third place wasn't very far behind that either! everyone did such a good job and if you haven't read their comics please do so. i do hope i'm able to do more stuff with Alvia at some point as it seems like people have enjoyed their journey, but for now I currently don't plan to do anything else with Alvia. at least currently, it's not like i really had snowdin or ruins planned or know how the full story would go.

2024 Comic Contest Results

Before we get started, I would like to extend a personal thank you to everyone who created an entry for the contest this year. Although we only got four entries this year, those four entries' dedication to telling stories that are novel and interesting for this community to enjoy is worthy of commendation in itself. For a while, I was scared we wouldn't even get enough entries to fill the podium; thanks to your efforts, this has not come to pass.

With regards to prizes: the judge whom was contributing to our prize pool has begun college for the year, and unfortunately they were unable to set aside the money they had originally promised for the cash prize. What does Sensetale!Chara call herself? I can’t image her calling herself great.

First of all, they, Chara is non-binary in Sensetale. I'm not shaming you or trying to make you feel bad, given I've said nothing much about Sense!Chara its fine and happens. Anyways, Chara would stick to official titles, if Chara was a captain or lieutenant or commander or whatever, they would call themselves that. they wouldn't feel the need to add anything on top of that as the title itself is reason enough to respect them and if they aren't in the guard or don't have any titles? Well then Chara would just call themselves "Chara". If Chara doesn't feel like they deserve an extra title or reason for respect they simply wouldn't try and chase it by trying to call themselves something they don't believe, at most they would try and work towards a better title or just fall into accepting they weren't made for greatness. Chara, at least how they are in Sensetale, is a bit of a defeatist, they feel like they need to earn the title, even honorifics like mr. , mrs. , or mx. they don't really like cause they feel cheap to them. a big issue of this is just how Chara was before they came to the underground, their family wasn't nice, treated them like dirt for one reason or another, giving chara a reason to want to vanish. falling down into the underground they still met the dreemurrs was given a home and a family and even a royal status, but after they all died and chara was given the chance to rule the underground they declined. feeling like they never earned the title or were destine to rule the monsters and humans living in the underground, later, they applied for the position of captain of the guard, trying to climb up the ranks and earn that title of power, something they did for themselves, something they earned. but it was too late, they watched as someone cheated their way through the trials, being a age that shouldn't even be allowed to be accepted as captain, all because of their power, a power they once thought was unique to them, but somehow even with all that... they just used it better than chara ever did. sure, chara could play rank, say that they used to be royalty and should be captain, but that's petty in their mind and would it even stick, or would it all just be forgotten and reset if the person was unhappy. well, for the time being they use the title commander.

Well since I can finally post this publicly, here is my submission for the Undertale comic contest, the journey and tale of Alvia, the purple soul of perseverance, in this story we start in the middle of Alvia's journey, where a turning point is set and Alvia must face their strongest challenge yet... a giant turtle with a hammer? I hope y'all enjoy! i put a lot of effort into this and i hope whoever wins this year gets the praise they deserve! everyone worked so so hard this year and while we don't have a lot of submissions it was fun to see people's stuff! Undertale: era of integrity going public + request for help

Howdy y’all after showing off some of my other project stuff it seemed to have gotten fairly positive reception, which was nice but I didn’t think much would come of it, but after a while I had a feeling that I should practice making a game before it’s too late and as much as I love sensetale I really think the combat would be too much for me to handle coding wise, but then I had an idea, I have some sprite for melody so why not just test with her, I added more and more and suddenly I wanted to see where this goes so any coders, sprite artists, and musicians if you would like to see EOI become a real thing I need your help I’d still be coding and helping but I can’t do it all on my own

What does this mean for sensetale or the other projects I showed off? Well sensetale is still on hiatus but I’m hoping that by actually practice coding and working on sprites I’ll improve enough to be happy with what I want for sensetale, as for my other projects I do wanna finish them and I will before go full EOI but it just matters how my motivation and creativity will take me, but sensetale will return at some point I promise

How are things goin for ya (not about sensetale specifically, just in general)

vs. mad mew mew genocide route edition! i love mew mew as a character and i've been really inspired to make something relating to her i just didn't know what to, well recently i got my insperation and have been coding it out, don't know what the ending is currently but i have a rough idea of what i want to do, hopefully you will all enjoy it the song is Dummy! from UNDERTALE: Alternate, thank them so much for letting me use the song! couldn't hope for a more fitting battle theme that just so happened to accidently match with the character i was making the fight for lol I have more projects i'd love to show off but tumblr only allows for 1 video so you'll have to have the shitty gifs instead

after undertale yellow released I loved the concept of everything so much but i really wish some more attention to the lore had been put in, but hey there was still some really cool stuff they did like i loved the guns and ammo types, so i decided to work on what it would look like for the blue soul which i nicknamed melody as her healing things are music notes and clovers are well clovers, this spawned a whole thing where i started making characters and ideas and... honestly i don't think it will go anywhere soon.... if at all but hey a mouse can dream huh? well i might as well show off some characters with little to no context huh?

not all of these are major characters but just stuff I wanted to show off, if people wanna make art or ask about it, the au name is official "Undertale: Era of Integrity" but for now you just get the designs and simple mechanics that i showed off, i have more to talk about

an underfell project! this was mainly learning to code KR and fuck around with my idea of an underfell au that takes the canon version and makes small tweaks here and there, i made some sprites to show what i mean

again not really giving out much info, if people wanna know more let me know i guess! no official name just some underfell concepts i've been working on I do wanna make some playable fights eventually but i'd need to work out some kinks first to make it all work some other projects that feel too small to sorta show off stuff of are a Tale's end sans fight (like from the comic) i was working on with friskbits actually helping quiet a lot and a help_tale sixbones fight (again from the comic) both are almost done but also both have big hurdles i'll need to get past before i finish it, for tale's end it's just... writing, frisky is normally busy and i had major writers block, writing for what you may ask? the comic surely has most of what i need right? haha I wish, there are so many options and it all comes back to that stupid flower, i have like 20 endings based on if you kill or not and then reset and do a certain action, I have the main endings coded but the great flowey remembering my resets makes it way harder to actually finalize the sixbones fight is mainly the absorb stuff, as we never saw that in the comic so i sorta had to improvise and making it looks cool! but I'm sorta just winging it i guess i'm also working on a mettaton date, this one with an overworld, you know how alphys, undyne, and papyrus all got dates? oh and sans too sorta, well toby literally mentioned dating mettaton on the kickstarter and never delivered! so i'm doing it myself, date the sexy rectangle... eventually i'm still on the overworld stuff and need to finish designing mettatons room fully, i'd show some stuff off but i'm not sure how long it's gonna be plus this post is already hella long so just gonna cut this here and maybe talk about it later there is some other stuff here and there but it's mainly just ideas, I had an idea of something something deltatravelers something something OFF but i'm prob not even gonna do that, maybe i'll make some sketches or mock ups for it later but eh i wanna finish projects first i have too many on my plate currently I know a lot of people might be mad, that i'm working on other projects and stuff while im supposed to be working on sensetale, but I'm trying to improve skills and general get better at making the content so people can enjoy it more, and when i was ready i would try and work more on sensetale maybe remake the area do new poses make new characters or sprite something unique and cool, one of the reasons i don't post or even answer questions on this is i don't want to get people's hopes up that this will return soon, i really want it to return soon but I don't have the resources or time to commit to it I had a thought that maybe, I should make this a general au project stuff, so I can show off more stuff and see what people like but i've had 20 or so projects i've never finished. I wouldn't want to show all this cool stuff off and never deliver on it. But perhaps if that is what would everyone would enjoy more, seeing progress and stuff i'm working on, if people would be okay not seeing sensetale in favor of more content? just food for thought, i want to see what people think before i act.

*sigh* I should probably stop accidently leaving y'all in the dark, so first off I've been fine, sensetale isn't canceled and I have been active... not on sensetale but active, I've been working on games had ideas for this and that and have been trying to make stuff and get better at sprite work and writing and stuff. I felt like my current writing style just wasn't going to make a story that people would relate to or feel good about, i love what i've done so far but after the ruins i felt like sensetale got a little messy and such and i just wanted to iron out some stuff despite all of the stuff going on. plus the next part of sensetale is going to have a lot of custom stuff and i... felt like the sprites i was making weren't good enough, i'm not sure if i'll end up remaking that area stuff but if i do it will be for the better, the other option is bringing people onto the team but a lot of asks for help haven't gone the best and so someone who could help with sprites feels sorta out of the question as i think all the people who could help have seen it and decided not to help. which is totally fine but it means progress is going to be slow. beyond that, i also... just have a life outside of this, work, paying rent, hanging out with friends, helping with projects, a bunch of stuff like that and unless a miracle happened i can't really sit around making stuff like i used to when i started sense back when i was... what like 17 or something?

despite general motivation loss from feeling like my work isn't good enough, i never have wanted sensetale to go unfinished i do wanna finish it one day and perhaps i'll be able to go into it at full force one day but it hasn't been like that for a while

In this AU, there was a war between monsters and humans.

BUT, not all humans approved of this war and not all monsters fought for their freedom.

In the end of it, a barrier was made with monster and human magic to trap the traitorous humans and the fearless monsters underground.

The monsters who stayed on the surface were miserable but they never lost hope of a better future.

Hey happy new year pal! Do you have any sensetale updates? :D

well first of all happy new year! second off, i really wish i did, but i guess i can use this to give more of a situation update so that people understand what's been going on, so after i released part 3 i started working on the next part almost instantly, but i knew i had to do some real life stuff too soon, i was able to build some of the monster village and a few npcs along with writing part of the parts dialogue, after that i got spriting block, well rather i felt like the sprites i was making were not good enough for the future parts and so i stopped till i could find some motivation, that time has yet to come and even if it had come at some point i was in no position to work on sensetale, i needed and still need to figure out some irl stuff before i'm able to really commit myself to sensetale, i tried asking for help with sprites or writing a bit so i could just like... get part of it worked on while i was dealing with stuff but i guess not many people saw those posts and those who did either didn't wanna help or couldn't which is understandable, i've had to cut back on some projects i was helping on too. but with staggering motivation, mental blocks and issues keeping me from working on sensetale and even a physical block of my computer not having internet for a while, it's been a bit of a nightmare, i've been working on other projects when i didn't feel like working on sensetale, and a few of those are close to completion and i will be advertising them here so hopefully that will help things a bit but sensetale is sorta in a rut right now, without a lot of time to work on it, making things is slow and will most likely continue to be unless i get some hands or help. right now i just need to get improve my mental health a bit and find a way to convince myself my sprites don't suck so i can start working on things fully again, and since the village isn't finished i can't even start making panels for the comic i know this isn't the update you wanted but as much as it pains me to give a status like this it also feels cruel leaving people in the dark, still part of me still fears this will have people lose hope in the au but i do genuinely plan to finish sensetale in it's entirety, no matter how long it takes me, i never want to end sensetale off without a proper ending unless it would be damaging myself to continue, even if no one watches or enjoys the comics i just wanna finish something and leave a mark. anyways while there is that i do have some vague info about the other projects, guess just some thing to build mystery or get people interested in those other projects without completely spoiling them project 1 teaser: "Within the frozen snow and ghastly fog, you will be put to the test. for a god walks among us, shining bright as a star, lets see if you can play your role or fall to the protector of all monsters!" project 2 teaser: "halls of the forgotten, left to ruin, a plan he never thought he'd have to use, but with how all the others have left, who's to say this one won't do the same. stopping you from leaving to save others. that's the promise he made to himself, but will he be able to keep it? or will he falter, either way. let's hope this won't be the end of your tale." as a note: - both of the projects are undertale related - these are not new, just seen from a "new light" - this is not related to sensetale

yes people have figured out the sign thing, less of a puzzle and more just some small lore for people to think about, and no I will not be confirming anything right now, at least not on the blog. i’d rather have people discuss it and what it means.

Since humans are in the underground too are there going to be original human enemies or still just monster enemies

I'd say yes and no? there are humans and some of them might try and stop Undyne but since humans are stronger and there aren't as many humans as monsters most human enemies would either be mini-bosses or bosses, while I can't confirm there will be normal enemies humans I have considered human enemies that aren't from undertale and even if i don't there will still be more human npcs so at least there's that! hopefully I'll be able to do some good stuff with that

people have been asking stuff, and I do have a stockpile of asks I should get to at some point but I've genuinely just been really busy, it will be worth it I assure you but I haven't had much time to focus on smaller stuff, unless I get someone to either help put together asks or help make sensetale stuff it's just gotta be like this, I can't do everything right now while I'd love to give updates on how the project is going that's also been sorta slow (plus it's mostly script stuff I've had a sorta hard block on making sprites right now so it sucks) that being said i will most likely have some content to post but it will be general UT type content and not directly related to sensetale

I just caught up with Sensetale (it's awesome so far, keep up the good work :D) and I noticed the Sans and Papyrus roles aren't listed in the roles. Is that 'cause they don't exist here... or is it perhaps meant to be a surprise? >:)

well first of all, thank you! it honestly took me a while to realize that part 3 is about as big as all 3 past parts combined so i was just worried that people would think the part doesn't have enough content or was too boring. anyways i'm not sure what you mean by sans and papyrus aren't listed i assume you mean the people who take their roles and not the characters themselves since they've both shown up in the comic, it's not really a secret as flowey and chara take the "role" of sans and papyrus, but while the roles aren't a secret their designs are and i don't think anyone has gotten even remotely close to how they'll look in the comic and i plan to not show them off until snowdin, i might be a bit more lenient towards some future designs but anyone past snowdin won't be shown off until either we get to the snowdin replacement area (lavilla) or some ways into it, of course even then some designs are off the table till they show up in the comic but who says we have to wait all the until later area's to see them in the comic? characters can show up anywhere even if not physically, so we'll just have to see
