1890 New Whatcom
Tumblr media
In 1890 Sehome became the incorporated town of New Whatcom, sharing a boundary with Fairhaven. Together they were the termini for multiple steamboat lines and three transcontinental railroads, providing a much needed transportation and distribution center for fish canneries, shingle and lumber mills, and other agricultural products.

It’s a state tray kind of Saturday;) This one is from 1960’s Washington, a marvel of a place. It's no wonder such a beautiful state would have such a colorful souvenir tray. From the depths of the Puget Sound to the tippy top of Mount Rainer, Washington State is full of dynamic people, places and adventures. Everybody loves it for its independent bookshops, cozy coffeehouses, commuter ferries, smoked salmon, snowy landscapes, wildlife sightings and the most wonderful farmer's market in the country, Pike Place. But it is so much more than all that too. Wild, rugged and wholly unique, travel it from one side of the state to the other and you'll encounter an array of fascinating stories. The types of stories that you can't wait to tell your friends about when you get back home. There was that chat with the old-timer at the microbrewery. That morning you saw a bear in the neighborhood. That day you hiked into the woods and saw an eagle, and a waterfall, and a moose all within minutes. Washington is full of surprises, big and small. This vintage serving tray will help you remember them all. Find it in the shop! . . . . . #washingtonstate #seattle #vintageseattle #vintagetray #souvenirtray #1960sdecor #colorfulhomedecor #pacificnorthwest #vintagemaps #washingtonstatehistory #pnwlife #statepride https://www.instagram.com/p/B8mOKGEgaOr/?igshid=17hurn8c6ixpi
