omg i just noticed something

when lyra opens her mailbox at college and gets that piece of mail that didnt have a postage, she says this:

she says that she “suddenly felt like she was being watched”. and who is known to be the watcher, PLUS has some kind of background with lyra’s father? alice hawthorne.

i feel like this was jlb’s way of hinting to the fact that it wasnt eve who invited lyra to the game, but alice. i think she’s planning something, but i honestly have no clue what. and because thomas’ file in the list was so scant, even if eve found it, she wouldnt suspect much of lyra, so i dont think lyra would have much use to her. but alice seems to have her own plan going on, and knows things that nobody else does, so she must have a greater understanding of the whole lyra’s father situation then eve does, and therefore invited lyra to the game for her own separate reason.

i think that eve and alice must have their own separate plans going on, because even though alice is kind of psycho, eve wants to completely overthrow the hawthornes in some way, and thats alice’s family, so i dont think its likely theyre working together.

however, i dont actually know whats really going on, so those are just my assumptions lol 😭😭

I'm new to the life series fandom and a little shy still but I wanna make some more friends to ramble with so I'm putting myself out there yippee :) if I've got anything ooc to add to a post I'll be talking in brackets [like this!] and I'll use them for narration too!

This is of course not the real Pearl by any means and not meant to be associated with her, I am just a person who likes roleplaying!!!

I would prefer not to interact with DSMP characters, partially because I have absolutely no familiarity with the SMP, partially for personal reasons

There is some shipping content here. Gempearl is at play but romantic interactions between other blogs will also be acknowledged.

I also have no familiarity with other SMPs outside of hermitcraft/trafficlife/empires so Pearl will probably treat such characters as strangers

Original characters are a-OK to interact but I'd rather avoid starting any involved plots with them– except for maybe Watchers, discuss with me if you'd like on that front

Assorted headcanons may also be at play, I'm a fan of Pearl as a moth hybrid and her getting to keep her life series dogs on hermitcraft ^^ this Pearl will also remember everything just as the other affiliated blogs do!

And you know what? That can be fine. If it keeps her fed, that’s all the more reason for him to let all those wicked things he’s thinking spill out the top. Maybe, if he tries hard enough, he can even convince himself that he knew from the very start; that this was the plan all along. Vent to a Watcher to get rid of some of this excess angst, then talk to Ren once your table’s back, it’s foolproof!

Well, I have a theory. I mean, it’s no a great theory, but… it’s been on my mind.

A shot in the dark, in some respects. Barely a theory. But the idea has been ever so slowly eating at him, ever since he first spoke to Martyn.

So, Martyn knows about the relationship me and Ren have. Even before the wedding, it was brought up. It had to have been, I—

— love him. I really do. And Ren knows how much he means to me, or, at least I hope he does. I hope he knows.

I hope he knows how happy he makes me. I hope he knows how much I love the way he speaks, the way he acts, all those little things he does. I hope he knows that I’m more than willing to forgive it all if he lets me into his arms, because he means everything to me. I hope he knows. I hope he knows.

Because Martyn certainly knows. Martyn knows how close we are. And I think it sickens him.

I think Martyn wants Ren all to himself. I think he hates to see me achieving all these great things with his partner by my side. I think he wants to hoard Ren like one of his treasures. Like those things he took from me. Like a diamond. Like a—

God, I sound like one of those crazy girlfriends right now. I never said it was a good theory. And I hope it’s not true. I hope Ren would never fall for someone like that.

But for what it’s worth, it all lines up, y’know? Why does he want to knock me down a peg? Because he wants me out of the picture.

It’s like a weight was lifted off his shoulders. As if he were cleansed by the rain, his nerves began to calm.

All the sickness I feel when I think about it, all the guilt I feel for thinking these things about someone who makes Ren so happy, all the anger I feel about this theory that, reasonably speaking, has little to no credence to it. Eat it. Eat it all.
