"The Speedforce is so thirsty, it needs someone inside it at all times." I'm cackling!
I aim to please!
SPOILER discussion below the cut:
I love your optimistic view of what’s going to happen in the finale and how the sacrificing won’t be the last scene.. But do you think that they would have had goodbyes that are so heartbreaking if he was just returning? Like I know it was the same when he was about to flashpoint in season 1 but then came back despite emotional goodbyes, but that would be repetitive right? It really feels like it’s the last scene, and it’s a pretty damn good but depressing ending, which it usually is..
Your argument is the same as Fowsia’s, and I have considered it. And then I have rejected it! Just kidding, it’s totally possible that you’re right. I just think that any goodbye in which Barry thinks he is going to die and/or nor see these people would necessarily be heartbreaking. I freely admit that I am biased in my reasoning because I *want* this scene to not be the final one, but I also think it’s reasonable to expect more after. Just like it’s reasonable to expect this to be the end… Minus an epilogue or something that sets up the next season. Because the one thing I don’t think this is? The absolute last scene.
“The Speedforce is so thirsty, it needs someone inside it at all times.” LMAO! Oh, how the tables have turned since we’ve seen the clip. It secretly doesn’t want to share Barry with Iris, so they take his ass.
The Speedforce is a jealous mofo.
Tati, I’m hyperventilating! Did you see the flowers in CP’s newest snap chat? They’re similar to the first WA proposal. I keep noticing parallels from S1 to 3. B+I both had mixed feelings about their situations when SnowStorm got married. Iris was happy for them, but didn’t look like she wanted to marry Eddie. Barry is also happy for them, but you could tell he wished it was him and Iris. If they got married I would never stop crying. I’d jump in DeNial with the SB’s. #WAWedding #SpongeBobReady
I saw your follow-up to this, but damn. It would have been a truly tragic parallel if they had done WA like they did SS in 1.23/2.01.
False alarm, I think the flowers are from the casket 💀
LOL, I think it’s the casket too. But it was a cool idea, anyway!
When you have time can you gif the goodbye moment between Barry and Iris we go in that video?
@ohmygettingcrazy already made a better gifset than I could!
Not to to be mean but I’m on your side. I feel like this could very easily be the middle of the episode/maybe close to the end, Barry comes back and then in the last minute there’s another cliffhanger that doesn’t involve separation 😉. I mean the writers have to know that this has been overly speculated (to death really) so it won’t even be that shocking to the non general audience
That’s not mean! My side is the nice side. :P
In my head, I consider Iris second in command when it comes to the team. In the S2 finale, the team locked Barry up. Although the team planned for Zoom to go back to E2, she led the operation. In 2x21, she also did the most when getting Girder over to Starlabs. 3x17, she got Cisco to vibe her and Mon-El to the dream world to save Barry and Kara. So if Barry were to do the sacrifice in the middle, I would like to see Iris lead again, since the TPTB promised badass Iris in the last episodes.
I consider her second-in-command, too! And I want to see her be the leader and kick some meta-ass.
If Barry sacrifices himself in the beginning or the middle, I get the feeling it would be similar to what happened on Xena: Warrior Princess in the final episode. I mentioned this on another blog, but she let herself be killed in order to fight the bad guy in the afterlife in the beginning. In order to come back to life, she had to be resurrected before sunset. But she stayed dead in the end. With the way the scene plays out, I think this could happen in the end or Barry pays the SF their debt.
Interesting…So you think Barry is going to fight Savitar in the speedforce? That was my #2 option, except I think he would expect to have to stay there after. Since the Speedforce needs someone in their prison or whatever. So unless Barry destroys the prison or the power of true love saves him, he would be trapped in the Speedforce after the Savitar battle.
But we know he gets out eventually, because there is no show without Grant. Just a question of whether he gets out in the premiere or before the hiatus.

Awwwwwww Thanks guys! I let my couples critique their personalised ceremony draft if they want, and most actually do, but these guys trusted me :-) #perthwedding #perthcelebrant #perthbride #wawedding #wahitchers #weddinginspiration (at Lamont's Bishops House) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6HfMZ2jICB/?igshid=1kmk9sazh6y9e
