After the Open Mic earlier that night, we rushed to catch Andy’s friends in Everybody That Loves You. They were playing WCDB’S Battle of the Bands – AND WON!
Here’s the footage I managed to take. Thank you to Seth and August for letting us in!

Episode 20 - Threat Level Midnight with Sophie Patka
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/threat-level-midnight-with-sophie-patka/id1451338059?i=1000441373222
This week we are joined by Sophie Patka, the Program Director of WCDB Albany 90.9FM, the college radio station Eric and Eli had shows on years ago. We talk to Sophie about new music from Haybaby, Palehound, and Stef Chura. Plus, Sophie opens up the discussion of music as political media, and the elitism between genres.
The filter above draws directly from the design of the flyer used to advertise the first ever Hip-Hop Culture Show hosted by the HIp-Hop/R&B Department of UAlbany’s student-run radio station, WCDB Albany 90.9 FM (so I’ve included the flyer above as well). I made both the flyer and the filter, and the filter was used at the actual event to help people memorialize their snaps and show off to their friends where they were and what they were doing on UAlbany’s campus that Friday night.
The event was a huge success, considering it was put together in less than a month’s time. As next year’s incoming Hip-Hop/R&B Director, I hope to create more fun and exciting events like this for UAlbany students (and more geofilters!). The filter was up from 8PM until 11PM the night of the show, and covered the show location as well as the surrounding area.
All Great Achievements Take Time! So I'm working on being open and appreciating the process. If we don't enjoy this at least then what's it all even for? It's all about the journey and the lessons we receive on the way. So don't settle for anything less than what drives you. Even if it doesn't happen overnight.
