——THE GENTLE SOUND OF YOUR heel tapping against the ground due to the constant bobbing of your leg as your anxiety builds up inside can be heard beneath the sounds of Nanami and Toji engaging in conversation.
You've been waiting for about six minutes now, having watched every second of the nearby clock tick, and your nerves are all bundled up. In the time that they've been talking, you've mentally rehearsed a plan for yourself.
You're going to ask Toji for private lessons.
And no, not in a naughty kind of way. At least, not yet. But for the purpose of one, having an excuse to attend class with Gojo every Monday to really dedicate yourself to the lie you've given and two, to have one-on-one moments with Toji.
Is any of this going to work? Probably not.
The worst case scenario is that this all goes to shit and Toji rejects any advance you make at him, resulting in Gojo posting those videos of you. Great.
You draw your hand up to your face and begin to chew on your thumbnail as you wait, simply watching the two talk for a few more minutes until Nanami finally leaves.
When he does, you watch him walk away almost in a trance. He's got one hell of a back profile. Similar to Toji, the dress shirt that Nanami had did little to nothing to conceal the toned body that lay underneath.
You never used to undress people with your eyes like this before but then again, you never used to see this many attractive people at once.
The little trance you were in is broken when Toji suddenly snaps his fingers in front of your face, causing you to jump and turn your head to him. You hadn't even realized that he sat back down at his desk.
"S-Sorry Mr. Fushiguro." You apologize as you make eye contact with the man.
"You're fine," He says, his expression void of any real reaction to the way he saw you gawking at his student. "Now," Toji leans back in his chair, a slight creak heard as he does so, "Where were we?"
"Uhh..." You awkwardly straighten up in your seat, "I was telling you about the project I had for my sociology class."
"Right." He nods, "Well, I don't mind you coming to my class for a few weeks for this project of yours, just don't be a disruption."
"I won't sir." You hum.
The gentleness in your tone makes the older man shift in his seat a little. "Good. Anything else?" Toji questions, tipping his head to the side.
"W-Well, I was wondering if I could stay after the lecture as well."
"For?"
"Y'know, like, a more..." You look down at your lap. The eye contact was growing overwhelming. "In-depth lesson?"
The older man falls quiet for a second. Then, startling you, he chuckles at how fidgety and nervous you seem to be about your request. "You're not in any of my classes and yet you want a lesson from me? A private one at that?" He emphasizes.
You swallow hard and look back up at him, "Yes sir."
Toji folds his arms, the large muscles in his arms unintentionally bulging against the fabric of his shirt. "What is there for me to teach ya' privately that you wouldn't learn during the lectures?" He asks.
"Well..." Think, think, think, think, think.... "Students aren't the only people I have to study for this project. As a professor, you'd be a great example to use for how topics, such as economics, affect people in education." You manage.
He scoffs lightly, "So, basically, you want to study me after class?"
You wince a little at his words, "Study isn't really the word I'd use for it. Think of it more like an interview."
"An interview?"
You cross one of your legs over the other, "Yes sir."
He takes a long pause, simply staring at you in thought. Once he comes to a decision, Toji agrees with a nod and a shrug of his broad shoulders. "Alright. Every Monday then, I'll expect to see you during and after class. When's this little project of yours due?"
"Six weeks from now." That should be enough time for you to... seduce him, right?
Toji's eyebrows raise slightly, "Six weeks? Damn, must be some project."
"It's my final project, sir." You clarify.
He clicks his tongue and you watch the corner of his lips raise into a little smirk, "So your final grade will be riding on me then?"
Well technically you riding on him is more of the goal here but, there's no need for you to say that aloud.
You smile, "Yup."
"M'kay, cya next week then," Toji says dismissively. You give him a nod and both of you stand at the same time. He walks you over to his door and adds a simple, "I look forward to workin' with ya', kid."
His last word makes you halt. Slowly, you turn only your head back to him with a graceful smile on your face, "With all due respect, sir, I'm a grown woman. Please don't call me kid." You request.
With your head angled back to him, you notice that he's rather close to you. One of his hands was placed on his classroom door and the other was tucked into the pocket of his pants. His closeness causes whatever, obviously cheap, but rather pleasant-smelling cologne to run through your nose.
Toji tilts his head as he looks down at you, "Yes ma'am. My bad, it's a bit of a habit of mine."
The change in the way he addressed you has your heart feeling a little weird. It has to be that deep voice of his, the damn thing is intoxicating.
"You should get rid of it," You blurt out, referring to that habit of his.
An amused smirk spreads across his face. You didn't know it but, he found this one interaction with you slightly attractive. "I'll work on it." Toji hums casually.
You give him an approving nod and then turn away. His eyes follow you as you enter the mildly busy hallway and after you disappear from his sight, he sighs heavily.
You definitely made a decent first impression on him.

As you rush down the hallway, you're lost in your head thinking about how you're going to pull this off for the next few weeks.
Subtly flirting and throwing small hints at him sound like your best options. Being straight up would be dangerous. You'll have to flirt and pretend like you aren't aware you're flirting-- 'innocently' making your way to what lies beneath his clothes.
You hope it works too. And while you're on that thought, you have to ask Gojo how difficult he thinks this will be for you. God, you hate that man. You don't want to talk to him about anything but you're forced to anyway-
You run right into someone in the hallway.
A phone drops and the binders and books you held make contact with the floor. "Shit," You curse, instantly crouching down to pick up the fallen items.
The person you ran into crouches down too, "Sorry," They apologize, even though you both ran into each other.
You go for the phone and motion the device toward the person, raising your head from the fallen items and meeting a new pair of eyes.
Holy fucking shit. It's another one. Another guy from the list.
And this one is... Well, if not for you picking Geto, this guy would've been your next choice.
Deep sangria-colored irises peer into yours, the shade veering more into the brown spectrum, and oddly attractive eyebags circle the male's eyes. There's a dark black tattoo running across the bridge of his nose and his hair is styled up in two messy ponytails.
You think your heart skipped a beat as you made eye contact with him. Hell, maybe it skipped a few beats-- maybe it stopped working for a second.
His face alone was tantalizing. The man was attractive in a way that made you unable to pry your eyes off him.
You think you flinch when he leans closer to you and tilts his head in concern, "You alright?"
Dazed by his caring voice and mesmerizing eyes, you nod your head. "Y-Yeah." You sigh.
You watch as the man looks down at your lips for a second, then right back up to your eyes as if he didn't mean to glance. The two of you grab all of the fallen items and stand up in sync. You extend your hand out, holding his phone and trying to give it back to him.
"Sorry for running into you," He apologizes again while taking his phone from you.
In return, he hands one of the items of yours he picked up back to you. "You're fine, I should've been watching where I was going."
He shrugs it off and his eyes drop down to the floor for a second before he speaks, "Me too. Also, I like your shoes."
You mimic his motion and look down at your feet, almost as if you'd forgotten what you were wearing. "Thank you," You reply as you look back up to the man.
If there's one thing they all have in common aside from being hot, it's the fact that they're all taller than you. It's something you mentally note as this man stands in front of you.
You smile and make a gesture to his face, "Nice tatt." You compliment simply.
His lips curve into a slight smirk, "Thanks, I did it myself."
"Really?" Your brows raise in surprise.
"Yup."
"Fuck, that's cool. Did it hurt?" You ask curiously, unintentionally leaning forward a little to get a closer look.
He shrugs, "Nah, not really."
You examine it for a second, only growing more and more impressed. "It's like, a perfectly straight line. Are you an art major by any chance?"
"Graphic design." He clarifies, "What about you?"
You shrug casually, "Psycology."
The male's head tilts to the side as he peers down at you, you can tell he's impressed. "Shit, psycology?" His head cocks back a little and he smirks, "That's hot."
"Hot?" You blindly repeat, chuckling at him. "It's just the study of behavior and mind, nothing special honestly."
He scoffs, "I'm pretty sure it's much deeper than that."
"It is but, it's more confusing than hot." You argue.
Your conversation with him is oddly seamless. He's now grinning at you, "The fact that it's confusing and you're still choosing to study it makes it hot."
"So, are you calling me or the major itself hot?" You ask teasingly.
He shamelessly looks you up and down and licks his lips before saying, "Both." He hums.
Your face grows a little warm. "Thanks, you too."
"You think I'm hot?"
"No, I think your major's hot." You utter sarcastically.
He laughs, "Yeah? You think graphic design is hot?"
"Mhm." You hum, "I mean, yeah, you're attractive but when you add on the fact that you're an artist? That multiplies it."
"Really?"
"Yup."
"On that note, you wanna see some of my work?" The man offers surprisingly.
"Yes please." You say with excitement in your voice.
Talking with this man in the middle of the hallway was by far the most refreshing thing you'd experienced within the last six days.
He chuckles and his thumb swipes through his phone for a second. When he finds whatever it is he wants to show you, he motions for you to come closer to him and you do.
Standing by his side and leaning over toward his phone, you see beautiful images of dark-colored designs that are nearly impossible to put into one word.
His art looks like... himself? It's almost as though he put his whole aesthetic onto a piece of paper. You catch shades of black, purple, and red ink swirled together in multiple different designs.
"Holy shit," You breathe out.
He chuckles at your reaction, "I've had a bit of art block recently but uh..."
As he trails off, you turn your head to look at him and notice that your faces are closer than you expected. Neither of you move but the eye contact held is almost intimate.
His voice drops lower and his gaze is unwavering, "I think I just found my new muse."
Heat rushes to your face as you grow flustered. By no means was he referring to you, right?
"R-Really?" You stammer.
His gaze dips lower, focusing on the curve of your lips, "Yeah," He hums.
The two of you lose yourselves in each other's presence for a moment. You nearly forgot about... well, everything for a second.
The male was enamored by you. You were just some random girl he ran into and yet he couldn't take his eyes off you. As for you, well, it's simple to say that you were just as infatuated. His face was so close, so flawless, and yet so mysterious.
You clear your throat and both of you snap out of the little trance you'd been in. Then, the two of you turn away from each other, clearly equally flustered by the closeness and lack of words.
"U-Uhm, your art is b-beautiful by the way." You stutter, physically cringing at the way you're tripping over your words.
You haven't been this nervous in a long time. This is worse than Toji, worse than Geto, and even worse than Gojo. Your heart is a pounding mess and you feel like a high school girl with a crush all over again.
"Th-Thanks," The man beside you chokes out.
A sense of comfort washes over you as you realize you're not the only one whose nerves are bundled up.
He suddenly clears his throat, "Well uh, I should uhm, probably get going."
You turn to look at him, "Right. Sorry for running into you again."
"No, don't apologize. I'm actually glad you did." He says, avoiding looking you in the eyes but smiling a little bit.
"Think I can get your name before you go?" You question shyly.
His gaze meets your face, still looking everywhere except for your eyes. "Choso. Kamo Choso, but you can just call me Choso." He tells you.
You stick a hand out for him to shake and give him your name in return. As his hand meets yours, you notice the slight claminess of his palms-- he was sweating... how cute.
Again, he clears his throat. "Since we're exchanging names, can I get your number too? I doubt we'll run into each other much since we have two entirely different majors..." Choso requests.
You're quick to nod and it's in a matter of seconds that the two of you exchange contact information with one another.
"It was nice meeting you, Choso." You voice out softly.
He nods his head, "Yeah, it was nice meeting you too."
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆ . . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
Alright, so today was an absolute rollercoaster.
From that morning being all lovey-dovey with Gojo, to hating him all over again, to meeting his stupidly sexy professor, to catching a glimpse of the stoic blond, and all the way to having an airy almost whimsical conversation with Choso.
What a day.
Seriously, what a day. Talking to Choso was so different. It didn't feel like you were talking to a target, it didn't feel forced or uncomfortable. Talking to Choso was the most pleasant thing ever.
As you made your way off-campus, your head was in the clouds-- filled with thoughts of the mysteriously artistic man you just had a conversation with. He was different, you could feel it.
You find yourself smiling at the little still moment the two of you had, how innocent it was, and how comfortable you felt. There's a sudden thump in your heart that makes your thoughts freeze.
Shit, the one thing you're not supposed to be doing. The one unspoken rule you'd set for yourself. You're breaking it already. You hardly know the man and you're breaking the single stipulation you'd put on yourself.
No feelings.
It's a simple rule. A needed rule. You can't go around sleeping with different men and fall for one at the same time. That'll never work out.
Imagine the look of disgust on their face when they find out they were just a name you needed to cross off. Hell no, the last thing you want to do is fuck with anyone's heartstrings-- including your own.
But...
Choso was so-
No. Stop it. You think to yourself. You nearly thought the same things about Gojo and look where that got you? In no way can you come out of this situation happy with any of the men involved.
This is just a one-and-done situation. No special cases.
Your goal is to seduce not swoon.
That's all your purpose consists of-- being a little whore for Gojo Satoru. As annoying as it is to come to terms with, that's exactly what your job is here. Fuck people, get paid. Nothing more, and nothing less.
No one becomes the exception. Under no circumstances do you allow anyone to fall for you; nor do you fall for anyone.
The smiles, the laughs, the ticklish feeling you get in your chest-- it all needs to be fake. Those special and cherishable feelings need to forever remain fake.
The second any of those emotions transfer into something real, everything will go to shit.
No relationships.
No feelings.
No romance.
Just sex.
You need to lock those words into your brain for the remainder of this list. Relationships would ruin things, feelings complicate people, romance will never work out, and sex is the only thing you need to focus on achieving.
You're not Gojo so you don't have plans on manipulating people. You simply want to be freed of the grasp he has on you and the only way to do that is by completing this stupid list.
As you made your way home, you thought long and hard about who you would go for first based on the three new people you met.
Toji would be a slow process since you gave yourself six weeks to figure him out. Nanami is a walking question mark since you have literally nothing to go on. And Choso seems all too sweet for you to think about seducing him just yet.
Based on that, you decide that Toji will be your biggest focus for the time being-- unless you spontaneously run into one of the remaining two unidentified people on the list.
With that being the most unlikely thing to happen given how lucky you got today, you end up organizing the list in a journal of yours at home. You'll put them into your own order and check them off as you go.
Yeah, you'll get through this.
...Right?

Game Spotlight #12: Nioh: Complete Edition (2017)
Tumblr media
Acquired Stardust's latest game spotlight is here! Join Ash as she takes a look at the most recent game featured on the blog so far in 2017's Nioh: Complete Edition! Often misunderstood and mislabeled, let's examine the game and see some of what makes it such a standout title. As usual from an Ash piece there's a long read ahead, so buckle up!
Larsa and I are big fans of Koei-Tecmo's work and are naturally huge history nerds, with two subjects that we love being frequent settings for the company's games. Hearing that they were finally releasing a new IP that was set in a familiar period for the company and its fans definitely had us interested. Rising from the ashes of a decade-plus stint in development hell, Koei-Tecmo's Nioh began development before the two companies had even merged. Starting all the way back in 2004 Koei sought to develop a game apparently based on an unproduced Akira Kurosawa script which meandered through several incarnations before ultimately being handed off to Tecmo's Team Ninja and entering real development in 2014. The resulting project caught gamers by surprise in its evolution of the portfolio of a company often labeled as releasing 'the same game every time' by those largely outside of the fandom. Although it stuck to familiar territory of flagship franchise Samurai Warriors in its setting of late-Sengoku era japan, the tone and gameplay had changed drastically from what had been traditional Koei-Tecmo territory. Gone was the romanticized heroics and melodrama, and KO counts that could be racked up well into a thousand enemies by playable characters that were essentially superheroes. In its place was a dark, ominous, sinister tone that was decidedly more grounded. Although character design remains impressively strong as is tradition for the company, Nioh features a less anime aesthetic than the company is known for for the most part with fairly realisitic depictions of its historical cast. Just as well the game veers significantly into appropriately bloodsoaked horror territory given its setting of turbulent late-Sengoku Japan, a stark contrast from the bloodless battles of Warriors games.
Alongside this tonal shift was a shift in its gameplay. Warriors games are something of a comfort food - they are relatively simple and easy, often described as 'button mashers'. It's true enough that they tend to allow you to coast through them doing just that, though there is a depth to the combat systems that often goes unexplored. Nioh's gameplay mechanics complement its horror very well and have taken a shift towards a style that emphasizes its reframing of the Sengoku. Players are able to select two weapons from an array of seven melee weapons as well as two weapons from an array of three ranged weapons as they take control of William Adams and take their first steps into Japan in 1600.
Gameplay is, at first, a slow and deliberate experience. Attacks are able to inflict fatal damage in just two or three hits, so attention and patience are not only rewarded but demanded on a base level. Players quickly learn the value in blocking and dodging enemy attacks which often come in combos of multiple blows as well as from range. Managing William's stamina meter, in this game referred to as the ki meter, is also important and more involved than one might expect with the 'ki pulse' mechanic in which the player is able to restore a portion of their meter immediately which enables further attacks and dodges with less downtime. Enemies are a wide array of human and demonic yokai who must be fought differently both as individuals (as in, for example, what weapon each may have) as well as a species with the universal stamina ki system functioning differently between human and yokai enemies.
If any of this is sounding familiar to you, you're not alone: Nioh is often referred to as a 'Soulslike', a genre of games that take deep inspiration from From Software's Dark Souls series which itself has roots in From Software's earlier King's Field series. Nioh often lives and dies by this comparison and most players come into it with a lot of preconceived notions of what exactly 'Soulslike' is and either fall in love with the differences or can't get over them and put the game down. That being said, there are indeed differences and despite its similarities Nioh is not a simple Dark Souls clone.
Tumblr media
Nioh is most certainly a result of Dark Souls' success, and that much is indisputable. Dark Souls is responsible for reminding the world just how much it really liked cryptic, tense, unforgivingly difficult experiences so much so that even updated ports of things like the 2017 Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was discovered by a generation of gamers and labeled "the Dark Souls of platformers" for its difficulty. In many ways after years of obscurity From Software has fundamentally changed the way we look at and talk about video games as a whole, with even games released well before their Souls series being compared to it.
Although Nioh owes its exit from development hell into the hands of gamers to Dark Souls insofar as its tone and difficulty being inspired by it, Nioh actually owes much to two games that are compared to it far less: Koei-Tecmo's similarly brutally difficult series of Ninja Gaiden games and Blizzard's Diablo. Combat is significantly deeper than Dark Souls' even from the jump with each of the seven melee weapons each having three different stances players can switch between on the fly, each with their own strong and weak attacks and combos. As players explore the RPG mechanics (also a Soulslike staple) they also discover a long list of abilities to unlock for each of the game's seven melee weapons that add new abilities and moves to the combos. The result is a game that almost feels significantly more like 2008's Ninja Gaiden 2 on the Xbox 360 than Dark Souls, with fast paced and tense action that results in either bloody dismemberment for your enemies or a swift death for the player.
Just as well there are also several classifications of armor with many different individual pieces within those classifications, some of which can give the player a bonus when assembled together as a set. Alongside this are countless different weapons within the ten total offensive weapon categories, with gear (all of which have their own levels of quality and stats) frequently being dropped by enemies upon their defeat. Needless to say the loot aspect of the game, itself not entirely unfamiliar for Souslike games, is significantly expanded upon in Nioh especially postgame to the point it much more closely resembles classic PC release Diablo 2.
There are a staggering number of ways to play the game as in addition to all of the gear, weapons, builds and stances there are ninjutsu and magic skills, items and 30 different spirits the player can equip with various different effects, all of which can be summoned as part of Living Weapon mode which sees William manifest the spirit into his weapon for a brief powerup that allows him to devastate enemies. Just as well there is a vast array of clans the player can join, all historical powerful factions of Japan's Sengoku which provide different bonuses and is one layer of the game's multiplayer component. This variety is served well through the base game's brutal difficulty as well as its three DLC scenarios and its equally staggering three additional difficulty levels of new game plus.
Aforementioned multiplayer component comes in multiple forms. Players leave graves where they die which can be summoned as fightable AI-controlled revenant that can drop their gear and glory, a currency used to trade for items or character models of Nioh's vast array of characters that the player can transform into, replacing William in normal gameplay outside of cutscenes. Glory also contributes to the faction wars - a race between the White and Red factions to see who can earn the most in intervals with the winning side awarded discounts in glory-accepting transactions. Players can also face each other in direct player-versus-player combat, and are even able to tackle the entire game together cooperatively.
Tumblr media
You might've noticed that the player character I mentioned earlier, William Adams, is most certainly not a Japanese name. And that's because he isn't (duh!). William is a relatively obscure historical figure who was one of the first non-missionary westerners in Japan as well as one of the few and earliest western samurai. William is an Englishman chasing alchemist Edward Kelley across the pacific ocean to reclaim William's personal guardian spirit, stolen in an encounter with Kelley in the game's opening stage. After his search takes him to Japan William finds his familiar tangled web of influence and power between England and Spain has become all the more complex with the addition of Japan's own political turmoil of the late Sengoku period.
Through the course of the game William finds himself eventually aligned with the Tokugawa forces by way of Hanzo Hattori, a bilingual ninja in service of Ieyasu Tokugawa. Nioh's campaign and DLC takes the player through several highlights of the late Sengoku period which are the game's absolute highlights. Although featuring a wide variety of stages set in varying locales such as cave systems, shipwrecks and ruined temples, it is these recreations of historical battles that the game truly shines with. The base game's recreation of the Battle of Sekigahara is one of my favorite parts of any video game for its melding of historical accuracy and dark fantasy elements. For us history nerds there is nothing quite like the haze of that morning's battle and the show-don't-tell approach much of the game takes with its environmental storytelling. One way this is achieved is through the largely unsubtitled gameplay segments (though the cutscenes do feature subtitles), with NPCs uttering Japanese phrases to William who naturally does not understand them. It's a fun little thing that helps convey the fish out of water elements of the story and rewards players who can speak the Japanese language (of which I am one). Another small moment is in the aformentioned Battle of Sekigahara where a small band of men clad in Kobayakawa-clan emblems charge up the battlefield without stopping to tell the player who they are or explain that the momentum of the skirmish has definitively swung in the direction of the Tokugawa forces. It's a small but memorable moment rewarding big history nerds like myself and Larsa that have memorized much of the intricate tumult of the Sengoku that has stuck with me well into my 200-something hours spent with the game in its various levels of difficulty and gear grind.
Tumblr media
The trend of the game's highlights being the recreations of historical battles is never more apparent than in its DLC scenarios Dragon of the North, Defiant Honor and Bloodshed's End which follow the post-Sengoku struggles against the Date clan as well as the winter and summer sieges of Osaka respectively. Winter's Osaka siege stands out as perhaps the best depiction of war in a video game with the level design and gameplay elements lending itself extremely well to portraying the sheer horror that must've entailed battle in the Sengoku with exhausted enemies surprising each other with their presence in the stage's tight trench corridors before engaging in quick and bloody battles to the death. Defiant Honor's Winter siege of Osaka culminates in a battle against legendary samurai Yukimura Sanada in another particularly memorable moment, featuring a more grounded design than his Samurai Warriors counterpart (although his armor is based on his real historical suit which was also featured as an alternate costume in Samurai Warriors 1), Yukimura wields his iconic traditonal Japanese jumonji spear as featured in Samurai Warriors and even has a few moves reminiscent of his moveset as a playable character in that franchise.
On the subject of further historical matters Nioh furthers the trend Koei kickstarted by reexamining Mitsunari Ishida with his moral fiber and his place in history, featuring a touching moment with retainer Sakon Shima monologuing about him. Nioh was also the first popular modern media, to my knowledge, to feature the obscure historical figure Yasuke, a black samurai associated with legendary daimyo Nobunaga Oda who was recently featured in his own Netflix anime. It was, sadly, also the beginning of Koei-Tecmo's slightly understandable but disappointing nonetheless deemphasizing of historical figure Ranmaru Mori, a popular and enduring cultural icon also featured and beloved in Koei's own Samurai Warriors games.
Tumblr media
The game works very well on the level of a slowly paced Soulslike or a more action oriented Ninja Gaiden style action game depending on the build and play style of the player, which is a great testament to its strong gameplay and level design. Just as well the game becomes significantly less hostile with another player in coop, and is a very satisfying exercise in teamwork. Larsa and I decided to play the base game in its initial difficulty level solo before teaming up to take on subsequent difficulty levels, and we can vouch for the fact that it makes an excellent game for gamer couples especially since the nature of coop allows the player duo to help take the load off of each other. It is as excellent an exercise in teamwork as it is a bonding experience thanks to the tense nature of its gameplay.
Nioh also introduces new mechanics consistently through its entire run even into the final difficulty level of new game plus where there is a whole new tier of gear with its own additional abilities which is a very impressive feat. For as much good as there is to say there is a big asterisk which may deter players as health recovery items are a finite resource not indefinitely restored unlike in Dark Souls, and players must conserve and find more lest they wind up with only limited guaranteed healing. This can gate lesser skilled players out of progress without hope of making it through the game without a lot of practice or getting help from a friend. Another small complaint is the minimap which is a featureless circle in the top right corner of the screen that only provides very minimal information to the player without having an ability such as 'kodama sense' attached to their gear, which displays hidden collectables scattered through stages that provide bonuses such as ultimately 25% more experience or a 5% increase in drops to weapons or armor as a green dot on the minimap.
Nioh indeed has much to gush about, and in many ways it represents the maturation of Tecmo-Koei's library of games. A fun alt history romp through the Sengoku that the company is very familiar with coupled with a fresh coat of paint in its action-horror dark fantasy elements that hearkens back to a little-remembered in today's zeitgeist game in Ninja Gaiden as well as megahit Diablo, the old meets the new in so many satisfying ways making Nioh a joy to have 100%ed (taking roughly 100 hours to have unlocked all achievements). It may owe its existence as a finished product to Dark Souls, but it is far less of a Soulslike than you may have heard or expect and has so much to offer on its own and as an extension of some of the gameplay featured in Ninja Gaiden. It is a joy to play on its own or with a friend/loved one and rewards your time spent with it considerably even far later into the experience than one might expect.
Nioh is immediately available via Steam and the Playstation Store on PC, PS4 and PS5.
A gem hidden among the stones, Nioh is undoubtedly stardust.

Who is Sally Mann, and what did sally do that people think was going too far? (And yes, I know I can Google it, but you can give me the subjective details I crave. And you asked for asks.)
Tumblr media
sally mann is a photographer! she uses large format and some really interesting darkroom techniques imo. her visual style is very dreamlike and wild
she has come under a shit ton of controversy over time (though its less of an ordeal now than it was back when her book was first published)! started with at twelve, her series on twelve-year-old girls, in which she approached childhood not with the false idea of "youthful innocence" but with the awareness that children are more aware of the "real world" than we think, yknow? one of the pictures that stuck with people is a picture of a girl posing defiantly with an older man, refusing to get closer to him for the photo - mann later learned he was abusing her, and that guy got shot for it.
the bigger controversy came with immediate family, though, which is her series on her own family members. this controversy is largely because some of those pictures include her kids in the nude. this was never in some provocative, erotic light, but people (including televangelists) insisted that sally was trying to make money off of child porn. it was a whole Ordeal in the media despite the fact that she never had legal action against her, she took preventative measures to try to make sure her kids were never bullied or mistreated because of the photos (like refusing to publish her books in her hometown), and her kids essentially collaborated with her in her work - years later, her surviving children (now adults) still go with her for professional appearances and such and speak positively of her in interviews. one photo of her kid was falsely said to show a welt from being abused, despite it actually being a mosquito bite. when her son killed himself as an adult she was accused of being the cause, even though he never indicated anything to support that, he was schizophrenic and suffered brain injuries due to a car accident and was still recovering from the effects. she got a psychologist to speak to her kids before publishing the photos. her work was published before stuff like cp was in the public consciousness to the extent it is now. 13 out of 65 photos show the kids naked. she was raised in a home where she was frequently nude (and tbh, ask a lot of rural people. this is not all that uncommon in my experience). her kids and their safety suffered so much more at the hands of over-bloated media backlash than they ever did from her art. like i cannot emphasize enough that while "nude children" is certainly a phrase to make people raise a brow, to accuse her of exploiting her kids is such a misunderstanding of her artistic intentions
she also photographed decaying bodies, and also stuff regarding racial history in the south. that was also controversial, but not capital-C Controversial. some people did not like her emphasis on the physicality of Black bodies, and obviously this isn't my topic to speak on, but i think its important to note that she approached them in a similar way to how she photographed herself and her husband's bodies, not exclusive to that project.
i love her so much and i did a whole photography project on her (with less nudity) back in the spring semester. i also did a project on anne brigman in the fall semester of 2022 tho so like. i really just like photographers who took crazy nude photos in the woods.

Atheist paradox - creator and unicorn- why agnostics are superior(to them) logically
(some)Atheists have this Sardonic "insight". Which they often like to mindlessly regurgitate (like a common belief they recite. how different from the very religions they mock). "believe in god? should I believe in unicorns as well now", well they can snark it better than me, but you get the point. However, such a statement proves they have no real understanding of how randomness works, as expected.
This belief is mindless because it was never logically thought out or scientifically contemplated, and that's what we are going to do now.
First, what's the probability of a unicorn existing outside of our universe? if your answer is ANY number, then you're guessing as much as a lunatic would. The answer is simply "unknown", you have no idea, and no data. You can't anticipate the rest of the set by knowing a single element. You can't anticipate the whole vector space by only knowing a subspace in it. (Hence, the hint of agonism superiority in the title)
Now, the spicy part. According to atheist logic. (we will live in an atheist metaverse a bit). What is the probability of a unicorn to exist Within OUR universe? if you say zero, you clearly have no idea how randomness works, that's what a true atheist shall say. If you say 100%, then you should have a good idea of how atheism exactly works.
That's simply how probability is under chance by understanding the mathematical branch, combinatorics. If you don't understand, LEARN! Use your brainzos ffsk.
But I will simplify it so you can continue reading. We have a rhinos' horn, birds' wings, and obviously the most important part, horses.
Them existing is simply by random combinatorial milkshakes through time, as "by enough time, randomness can sophisticate more than the sophisticated mind" is the empirical proof(atheist type) that a unicorn should exist somewhere at some point. And as long as we can't find unicorns or other absurd possible combinations, this is atheists' problem.
also, some humans' level of understanding can be anticipated so I have to mention this as Guard Clauses:
I don't mean that nature will bring a rhino's horn (for example) as a whole and then put it over a horse's head like Frankenstein would.
Unicorns are imagination inspired from this word as the components are EMPIRICALLY SENSED from this world.
On the other hand, the concept of a creator CAN'T exist within this universe (according to atheism) because then that would be empirical (atheist type I emphasize again) proof of his existence (despite it would be a counter-argument to the argument I am going to state, which I am stating not to proof god, but to show the absurdity, fragility, and paradox within the atheist belief book(s)).
Unicorns, vampires..etc. Those fantasy existences are combinatoric projections from our psyche inspired by what we empirically/sensually have experienced.
blind people can't imagine shapes, deaf people can't imagine sounds, a brain with no sensory inputs at all is almost "dead".
So, the idea we came up with the concept of "creator" shouldn't be inspired by our senses. But this is also proof it can't be a result of our imagination. (Though, in actuality, it is inspired, not by base senses, but combination of higher abstraction analysis of what we have experienced through our senses, aka logical deduction). However according to atheist belief book(s), what is empirically proven must exist. They forgot the part of "even the combinatorics of it" because that's how randomness works.
again, guard clause:
What I stated so far not to prove theism, but to work out inescapable implications of atheists' logic to shine a light on the absurdity, fragility, and paradox within the atheist religion
Yes religion, most of them recite without any real understanding, they have books, even prophets they idolize. (this is belief and religion according to atheists' logic). But belief is when you say something exists or does not exist without solid proof.
So, at this point, we can say that atheism is the empirical hindsight. If someone wants to discuss "cons" and weaknesses of empiricism (by itself) just shout lunatically like an average politician in parliament "ATHEISM".
For their theory to work, they have to overemphasize the senses and extremely underemphasize any Rationalism/formalism. Abstractive deduction and reasoning.
Which also -again- on the ironic part, abstraction, Rationalism/formalism are proof of an "advanced" "highly intelligent" of the "rational brain aka prefrontal cortex". Sensing-based is how animals (non humans, mammalian +reptelian brain without the rational part) work, or at best, in terms of perception of things, a cave-man mindset. Simply, primitive. yet they mock religions to be primitive.
Everything they have mocked so far seems to be proven to reside within their belief system, is that projection?
"Thinking is hard, that's why most people judge" - Carl Jung
Because the only pillar they actually have is shining light on a scientific base rule to create the distorted belief of it. The scientific rule is: Occam's Razor "Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected."
under the mindset of "statistic mindset that has no understanding of what is statistics, how it's used, and how it works"
Their pillar in short "there's no statistics of god"
"The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts while the stupid ones are full of confidence"—Charles Bukowski
______
Message:
The start of the actual intellectual explorer is active agnosticism. This is the "start", step zero.
Atheism simply can't be true, it's like its brother philosophy hedonism, extreme paradox, and absurdity of structure. Being an atheist is being in the negative, having some psyche work to do. Ego and traumatic disturbances, projected into reality due to an inflated ego as a reaction and adaptation to experiences, creating an obvious blind spot. This requires a full essay to elaborate on the truth of that.
Then the agnostics have the intellectual freedom to discover theories or ideas. Even being in a simulation is not just logically, but empirically more coherent and consistent than atheism.
Here's an AI generated essay: (too much time to do essay myself)
Complementary(more explanative) essay
Part I: The Failure of Atheism as a Philosophical Stance
1. Introduction: False Defaults and Hollow Certainty
There exists a common but deeply flawed belief that atheism represents a “default” state of rationality — an absence of belief, a position of neutrality, a sort of intellectual hygiene. This myth has achieved memetic popularity, especially through the mouths of figures in the so-called “New Atheism” movement. But popularity is not proof, and certainty is not strength. Beneath the polished sarcasm and scientific posturing lies a metaphysically bankrupt, psychologically compensatory structure of thought: one that collapses upon sustained logical and epistemological examination.
This essay will present a comprehensive dismantling of the modern atheistic worldview in four dimensions:
Its epistemological fallacy and dependence on degenerate empiricism,
Its internal logical contradictions and probabilistic incoherence,
Its psychological and existential motivations,
The superiority of active agnosticism as the only coherent starting point for metaphysical inquiry.
Atheism — as it is popularly practiced and philosophically justified — is not a lack of belief, but a belief system disguised as absence. It pretends to be anti-dogma, yet upholds dogmas of its own: it dismisses religious imagination while clinging to its own sacrosanct epistemic myths, such as the infallibility of the senses, the self-evidence of materialism, and the sufficiency of Occam’s Razor. These are not neutral tools — they are unproven assumptions taken on faith.
To begin: atheism’s core is not logic, but radical empiricism — and radical empiricism is inherently self-limiting and internally contradictory.
2. The Epistemological Root: Radical Empiricism and Its Collapse
Modern atheism is an epistemological offshoot — not a metaphysical revolution. It claims to be an answer to the “God question,” but it is in fact a denial of the question itself. It simply narrows the domain of acceptable knowledge to what is sensory, immediate, or reproducible, and declares that anything outside of this is “not worth discussing.” This is not skepticism — it is anti-rational reductionism.
Let us break this down:
a) Empiricism ≠ Epistemic Sufficiency
Empiricism, properly understood, is a method — not a total theory of knowledge. It is useful when paired with rational inference and metaphysical grounding. But once empiricism is treated as the sole gatekeeper of truth, it becomes self-refuting.
Can empiricism empirically justify itself?
No. You cannot sense the principle “only sensed things are true.”
Can logic and mathematics be proven through the five senses?
No. They are abstract, formal, and non-empirical — yet we use them to validate all empirical claims.
Is the belief in consistency, causality, or identity empirical?
No. These are metaphysical assumptions that underpin all scientific thinking.
b) The Empirical Dogmatism of Atheism
Popular atheism commits this fatal error: it elevates sensory data into a metaphysical axiom, while simultaneously rejecting the metaphysical nature of that act. This is the fallacy of empirical absolutism — a belief not in science, but in scientism.
This leads to incoherent standards like:
“If God existed, there would be empirical evidence.”
“Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.”
But these are meta-empirical judgments masquerading as scientific statements. “Evidence” is always interpreted through a preexisting metaphysical filter. What counts as “extraordinary”? By whose judgment? Based on what standard of normality?
Thus atheism is not free from belief — it is anchored in unexamined metaphysical dogmas, and most adherents are unaware of this.
3. The Unicorn Argument: Probability, Projection, and Category Error
Perhaps the most common atheist mantra — repeated in forums, debates, memes, and essays — is the rhetorical quip:
“Believing in God is like believing in unicorns, fairies, or flying spaghetti monsters.”
This is often delivered with smugness, but it conceals a profound philosophical error.
a) Unicorns Are Derivatives of Empirical Data
Unicorns are conceptually composite entities. Their visual and conceptual features (horns, hooves, equine structure) are all empirically derived. They are imaginative recombinations of known biological forms — possible under the laws of combinatorics. They do not violate the structure of empirical possibility. In fact, it is entirely valid to say that:
"If evolution or mutation took a different path, something unicorn-like could exist."
This is why their probability of existence — though uncertain — is at least conceptually calculable. It is rooted in known variables.
b) God Is Not a Derivative Entity
In contrast, the concept of a Creator (especially in monotheistic traditions) is not a sensory recombination. It is a metaphysical postulate derived from:
The necessity of an uncaused cause (Aristotle),
The demand for explanatory closure (Kalam),
The impossibility of infinite regress,
The appearance of design and order,
The irreducibility of consciousness, morality, logic.
Thus, the Creator is a non-contingent, non-empirical, transcendent ground of being — not a higher-order biological feature.
To compare God to unicorns is a category error. It conflates:
Metaphysical necessity (God),
With combinatorial possibility (unicorn),
Under the pretense of empirical ridicule.
This is not logic. It is projection.
4. The Simulation Hypothesis Is Stronger Than Atheism
Even if one rejects traditional theism, the most rational alternative is not atheism — it is metaphysical agnosticism. Consider this:
Simulation theory posits that we may live in a universe constructed by intelligences beyond our understanding.
This is not just science fiction; it is being seriously considered by philosophers (Nick Bostrom), physicists (Rizwan Virk), and computer scientists.
It offers empirical correlations (quantization of space, digital-like constraints, entropy dynamics).
Ironically, the simulation hypothesis gives us a “creator” — one that is testable in principle, and coherent with rational inference.
Thus: simulation theory is more scientifically and logically defensible than strict atheism — because it does not deny the possibility of metaphysical causation. It embraces it.
If an atheist accepts simulation theory but rejects theism, it proves the rejection of God is emotional, not logical.
Conclusion to Part I: Atheism Is Not Rational — It’s a Collapse
The philosophical foundation of atheism is eroded at every edge:
It is rooted in a reductionist epistemology that cannot support itself,
It rests on logical fallacies and misuses of Occam’s Razor,
It confuses combinatoric absurdities (like unicorns) with metaphysical necessities,
It prematurely closes the inquiry it claims to uphold.
Atheism is not the start of reason — it is the end of thought.
Part II: The Logical and Probabilistic Collapse of Atheism
1. On the Meaning of “Nonexistence” and Its Logical Pitfall
Atheism often positions itself as a rational stance of non-belief — i.e., “I simply don’t believe in God because there is no evidence.” But this masks a serious logical ambiguity: what does it mean to say something does not exist?
To claim something does not exist is to assert:
That the entire ontological domain (all of being) has been sufficiently surveyed,
That the entity in question cannot be inferred by any indirect logical or metaphysical principle,
That this absence is justified — not simply due to ignorance, but due to completeness of knowledge.
But this is epistemically impossible.
a) Axiom: Absence of Evidence ≠ Evidence of Absence
This principle is universally accepted in science and logic — except, curiously, in atheist rhetoric. We do not say that black holes or dark matter “do not exist” because we do not directly see them. We infer their existence based on their effects and logical implications. Similarly, the cause of being, morality, logic, and consciousness may imply non-empirical origins.
The atheist denial of God due to “lack of empirical proof” is therefore logically equivalent to:
"I cannot see gravity directly, so I deny its existence."
This is not rational skepticism — it is lazy epistemology. At most, it justifies suspension of judgment — which is agnosticism, not atheism.
2. The Fallacy of Zero Probability
Atheists often appeal to a sort of statistical posture — the idea that God has no probability of existing because no empirical data points to him. But probability, especially in epistemology, does not work that way.
a) Probability Cannot Be Assigned in Ignorance
Imagine you're shown a sealed black box and asked:
“What’s the probability that there’s a red ball inside?” If you know nothing about its contents, the only honest answer is: unknown.
But atheists answer this question — regarding the most complex, origin-defining being — with: zero.
This is epistemologically invalid.
Probability requires:
A known sample space,
A prior distribution based on relevant information,
A consistent model for prediction.
God is not part of a known reference class. There are no baseline statistics to work from. Assigning probability = 0 is not scientific — it's assertive metaphysics disguised as science.
If you want to deny God probabilistically, you must first:
Define the sample space of possible metaphysical realities,
Justify your prior with coherent logic,
Apply Bayesian inference over that domain.
No atheist has ever done this rigorously — because it’s not possible.
3. The Atheist’s Hidden Faith in Randomness
Atheism claims to be scientific and naturalistic, yet it relies heavily on the unproven metaphysical assumption that randomness is sufficient to produce all known complexity — including consciousness, morality, and language.
This is ironic, because randomness:
Is not a cause, only a description of unpredictability,
Cannot explain purpose, direction, or semantics,
Is often limited by combinatorial boundaries.
To say that time + matter + randomness = everything, is not different from saying:
“Shake a box of sand long enough and Shakespeare will emerge.”
In information theory and combinatorics:
The probability of high-order complexity forming randomly decreases exponentially,
The entropy cost of structure and syntax grows with meaning,
Evolution itself does not work by pure randomness — it filters through non-random selection.
So to claim that the cosmos, consciousness, ethics, and language emerged purely through blind mechanics is to take a massive leap of faith.
It is not less metaphysical than theism. It is more dishonest — because it denies that it is a belief.
4. Atheism and the Evil God Paradox
Here lies one of the most overlooked absurdities of atheism:
Atheists often argue against the existence of a specific kind of God — e.g., one that is benevolent, omnipotent, and just. This is usually done via:
The problem of evil,
The problem of suffering,
The problem of divine hiddenness.
But this only refutes specific traits — it does not refute a creator per se.
If we follow their logic:
“The world is too cruel and unjust to have been created by a good God.”
Then this opens another option:
“Perhaps the world was created by a malevolent God — or one with motives we do not understand.”
This possibility completely satisfies atheist empirical criteria:
We observe cruelty, indifference, entropy.
So these could be design traits of a creator with alien moral logic.
But atheists never entertain this possibility — despite its greater consistency with empirical suffering.
Why?
Because their rejection is not about logical analysis. It is emotional revulsion. They conflate disliking a creator’s personality with disbelieving his existence.
This is philosophically weak.
5. The Atheist’s Use of Occam’s Razor is Misapplied
The last refuge of most atheists is to appeal to Occam’s Razor:
“Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.”
But this principle is heuristic, not absolute. And it is grossly misapplied.
Let’s compare: Hypothesis Assumptions Explanatory Scope Atheism (Materialism) Matter exists, laws of physics are uniform, consciousness is emergent, moral sense is illusory or adaptive Explains physical structure, denies or deflates meaning Theism Matter exists, plus a causal origin of it by a non-contingent mind Explains structure, cause, order, moral perception, logic, consciousness
So which is “simpler”? That depends on your epistemic frame. Adding a Creator adds coherence, even if it adds “entities.” Occam's Razor is about explanatory efficiency, not literal count of nouns.
The truth is: atheists cherry-pick simplicity. They oversimplify the cause to preserve the appearance of rationality.
Conclusion to Part II: Atheism Cannot Hold Its Own Logic
If we subject atheism to its own standards:
Its empirical claims fail,
Its probabilistic logic collapses,
Its moral arguments misfire,
Its philosophical objections rebound on itself.
It is not a robust worldview. It is a fragile projection — masquerading as strength through simplicity. Atheism isn’t the logical terminus of inquiry. It’s a shortcut away from it.
Part III: The Psychological Core of Atheism — A Compensatory Identity
1. Atheism as Identity, Not Inquiry
Most atheists don’t arrive at atheism through pure philosophical reflection or rigorous epistemology. They arrive at it emotionally, through rejection.
Rejection of authority, religious trauma, existential anxiety, or unanswered prayers — not metaphysical contradiction.
This matters. Because when a belief system is chosen not for its truth, but for its psychic utility, it becomes a defense mechanism, not a discovery.
a) The Ego-Reactive Structure of Atheism
Atheism, in many cases, functions not as a neutral absence of belief — but as an affirmative identity:
“I’m not like the sheep.”
“I’ve seen through the delusion.”
“I rely only on facts, unlike them.”
This is the birth of a counter-religion — with its own myths (science as omnipotent), priests (Dawkins, Harris), rituals (debate, ridicule), and dogmas (“faith is weakness”).
The atheist persona becomes a reaction formation — a rigid compensatory structure built in opposition to the perceived irrationality or pain of religion.
But this is not rationality. It is inverse devotion — still structured by what it denies.
2. Traumatic Roots: The Child’s Rebellion and the God-Sized Wound
a) The Hidden Trauma of Disillusionment
For many, atheism begins as a trauma response:
Abuse under religious institutions.
Manipulative parenting dressed in piety.
Prayers that were never answered in childhood.
Experiences of guilt and control framed as “divine will.”
These wounds fester, and eventually calcify into:
“If there was a God, He would have done something. He didn’t. So He isn’t.”
This is emotionally valid — but logically broken. God’s non-intervention does not logically imply nonexistence, only incomprehensibility — a vastly different metaphysical claim.
But the trauma remains unresolved. And instead of mourning or integrating it, the psyche often performs a reversal: the God that failed becomes the God that never was.
This is not freedom — it is disavowal.
3. Atheism as Inflated Rationality: Narcissism of Intelligence
There’s a particular psychological seduction to atheism: the belief that one is smarter, more evolved, more “scientific” than others.
a) The Prefrontal Illusion
The atheist often idolizes the rational mind — but not rationality in its full form. What they glorify is often:
Reductionism (breaking everything down),
Empiricism (believing only what is seen),
Debunking (mocking others’ beliefs),
Mock humility (acting skeptical, but acting certain about nonexistence).
This is not high reasoning. It is narcissism disguised as logic.
A truly rational mind accepts uncertainty, ambiguity, metaphysical complexity. Atheism, when rigid, becomes less rational than the belief it mocks, because it limits the scope of allowable thought to sensory repetition.
This is mental primitivism in a lab coat.
4. Atheism and the Ego’s War on Mortality
Atheism is often a way to regain control.
In a world governed by God:
You are accountable,
You are watched,
You are not in control.
But in a godless universe:
You own your fate,
You define your ethics,
You owe nothing to anything.
This is seductive. But it’s not truth — it’s sovereignty fantasy.
Atheism removes God not because it has disproven Him, but because the ego cannot submit without humiliation. The thought of being made, judged, or owed, feels intolerable — especially to a traumatized or grandiose self-image.
So it replaces this fear with nihilism wrapped in pride.
But here lies the irony: atheism doesn’t protect from suffering, death, or meaninglessness. It only removes the tools for confronting them.
5. The Existential Bankruptcy of the Atheist Worldview
Without God or metaphysical foundations, the atheist must confront the brutal implications of their own system:
No inherent meaning in life or death,
No grounding for ethics, only preference or survival,
No transcendence, only eventual heat death,
No ultimate justice, only power dynamics.
This is what Nietzsche warned about:
“God is dead. And we have killed Him. How shall we console ourselves, the murderers of all murderers?”
Atheists often dodge these implications. They borrow meaning from religious capital (human rights, dignity, value, reason), but deny the source.
They live on the inherited warmth of burned altars, pretending they made the fire themselves.
But in the long term, this fails. Without vertical structure — without something higher — the psyche either:
Collapses into nihilism,
Or invents new dogmas (e.g., political ideologies, utopian science).
Atheism, therefore, is not a stable final destination. It is a phase — a necessary rebellion for some — but philosophically unlivable as a whole-world view.
Conclusion to Part III: Atheism as a Psychological Reaction
Atheism is often not what it claims to be. It is:
Not pure logic, but defensive cognition,
Not truth-seeking, but meaning-avoidant,
Not independence, but trauma-adapted disavowal,
Not freedom, but masked helplessness.
The true intellectual posture — the one unafraid of not knowing — is active agnosticism.
It is the only stance that:
Does not pretend certainty in ignorance,
Does not hide from meaning,
And does not rely on the ego to fabricate sovereignty.
Part IV: Active Agnosticism — The Only Rational Starting Point
1. The Philosophical Maturity of Active Agnosticism
Where atheism prematurely answers the question of existence — by negation — active agnosticism does something far rarer, and far more intellectually honest:
It refuses to answer the ultimate question prematurely — not from confusion, but from disciplined epistemic humility.
Agnosticism acknowledges:
The limits of sense-based knowledge (empiricism),
The limits of formal abstraction (rationalism),
And the inaccessibility of total evidence about metaphysical origins.
It is not an indecisive middle — it is step zero in metaphysical inquiry.
Comparison:
Position Claim on God's Existence Epistemic Ground Psychological Structure Atheism "God does not exist." Negative certainty Ego-denial, trauma reaction Theism "God exists." Positive certainty Often faith-based, sometimes logical Active Agnosticism "I do not claim to know yet." Epistemic humility Rational, open, psychologically neutral
True intellectual exploration must begin here. Anything else is prematurely planted — often in personal bias, not universal logic.
2. Agnosticism Honors the Unknown — Atheism Fears It
Atheism often appears as courage — a rejection of "comforting fairy tales." But more often, it's a flight from the unbearable implications of uncertainty.
Uncertainty means:
You are not in control,
Your destiny is not fully self-authored,
You may be accountable to something greater,
You may never find ultimate answers.
This frightens the traumatized ego. So, instead of wrestling with it, the mind rushes into certainty — and ironically chooses the negative certainty of atheism.
But active agnosticism embraces the unknown, not with anxiety, but with method:
Accepting uncertainty as the foundation of all inquiry.
Treating "I don't know" not as weakness, but as the beginning of wisdom.
It mimics the scientific method:
First, observe. Then hypothesize. Never assume.
3. Psychological Insight: Denial of a Creator as Trauma Defense
Many atheists are not purely rational actors. Their rejection of God isn’t metaphysical — it’s emotional and projective.
Let’s reconstruct a pattern:
a) Pain → Anger → Ego Defense
Life hurt them — emotionally, existentially, unjustly.
A powerful being that could have intervened and didn’t, becomes the image of neglected justice.
But if such a being does exist — they are powerless before it.
And powerlessness is intolerable to an inflated ego wounded by the world.
So what happens?
The mind denies the possibility entirely. Better no god than a god who failed me. Better death than submission. Better self-sovereignty than unbearable dependency.
This is classic trauma psychology:
The child who was unseen becomes the adult who insists there is no one worth seeing him.
The child who couldn’t punish the abuser becomes the adult who insists there is no one above him to punish.
The one who craved meaning and was met with silence becomes the one who declares that all meaning is a lie.
Their most instinctive positions, their most moralistic claims, are the greatest clues to their unprocessed trauma.
“To know someone’s trauma, search where they stand most righteously.”
Atheism, for many, is not a philosophical conclusion — but a moral revenge dressed in logic.
Life hurt them — through loss, abandonment, injustice, betrayal.
A powerful being that could have intervened and didn’t, becomes the imagined source of neglected justice.
But if such a being does exist, they are not only powerless before it — they are betrayed by it.
And submission to such a being feels like submitting to the one who caused their suffering.
So the defense becomes more precise:
“Better death than submission to the one who hurt me.”
This is not mere rebellion — it is an ego's act of revenge:
Denial of the offender’s existence as the only remaining power move.
The refusal to recognize a superior force because it feels like validation of past injustice.
Thus, many atheists are engaged in philosophical revenge disguised as logic.
The child who was unseen becomes the adult who insists that there is no one above to see him.
The child who was helpless becomes the adult who rejects the existence of anything he cannot dominate.
The soul that was betrayed invents a world where no betrayer could possibly exist.
..etc.
Their most instinctive positions, their most righteous moral claims, reveal not clarity — but unresolved emotional trauma.
“To know someone’s trauma, search where they stand most righteously — and most inflexibly.”
This is not to say all atheists are traumatized. But many vocal, emotionally invested ones are unconsciously reacting to the unresolved inner image of a God who failed them — and their atheism becomes not reason, but revenge.
4. The Empirical Pattern: Atheists Who Return Through Compensation
We now return to empiricism — their supposed foundation.
Across countless cases, we observe a simple empirical phenomenon:
Many atheists, over time, gravitate toward theism later.
They find:
A line, statement, or philosophy that spoke to that traumatized part and told it "It's okay".
And in that vacuum, another belief emerges — not always religious in the traditional sense, but always structured around restoration of coherence.
5. Final Synthesis: The Superiority of Active Agnosticism
We now compare not just philosophically, but psychologically and empirically: Criteria Atheism Active Agnosticism Logical integrity Breaks under own assumptions Maintains consistent epistemic posture Empirical humility Overclaims based on under-data Respects the limits of observable data Psychological neutrality Often trauma-reactive or ego-defensive Allows for openness and adaptation Exploratory potential Closes metaphysical inquiry Launches metaphysical and existential search Trauma compensation Offers none Allows exploration toward healing beliefs Resilience to uncertainty Weak — needs denial or certainty Strong — lives alongside the unknown

How AI & Machine Learning Are Changing Computer Education
Tumblr media
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are not just revolutionizing industries; they are fundamentally reshaping the very way we learn and teach, particularly in the realm of computer education. From personalized learning experiences to dynamic curriculum development, the influence of AI and ML is creating a smarter, more efficient, and more responsive educational landscape.
Understanding these shifts is crucial for students, educators, and anyone involved in the delivery of computer classes, as they dictate the skills required for the future workforce and the methods by which those skills are best imparted.
AI & ML: Transforming Learning Methodologies
The impact of AI and ML on how computer education is delivered is profound and multifaceted:
Personalized Learning Paths:
AI-powered platforms can analyze a student's learning style, pace, strengths, and weaknesses. They can then tailor the curriculum and content to individual needs, offering customized assignments, recommending specific resources, or even adjusting the difficulty level in real-time. This moves away from a "one-size-fits-all" approach.
Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS):
ML algorithms are behind sophisticated ITS that act as virtual tutors. These systems can answer student questions, provide hints, explain complex concepts, and offer immediate feedback on coding exercises, often mimicking the interaction of a human instructor. This allows students to learn at their own convenience and receive instant guidance.
Automated Grading and Feedback:
For subjects like programming, AI can automate the grading of code submissions, identify common errors, and provide detailed, constructive feedback much faster than manual grading. This frees up instructors to focus on more complex teaching tasks and allows students to iterate on their work more quickly.
Predictive Analytics for Student Success:
AI can analyze student performance data to identify patterns and predict which students might be struggling or at risk of dropping out. Educators can then intervene proactively, offering targeted support and resources to help students succeed. This also helps in optimizing curriculum design based on student performance trends.
AI & ML: Reshaping Curriculum Content
Beyond just how we learn, AI and ML are also changing what we learn in computer education:
Emergence of New Specializations:
Dedicated computer courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning Engineering, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Computer Vision are now staples in almost every reputable computer training institute. These specialized programming courses equip students with the skills directly applicable to these cutting-edge fields.
Integration Across Disciplines:
AI and ML concepts are no longer confined to specialized tracks. They are being integrated into traditional computer courses like data structures, algorithms, and even cybersecurity. For instance, understanding machine learning models is becoming essential for identifying cyber threats.
Emphasis on Practical Application:
With AI's capability for automation, the focus in education shifts from rote memorization to critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on application. Curricula now heavily emphasize project-based learning, allowing students to build real-world AI/ML models.
The Role of Computer Training Institutes
Institutes offering computer classes in Ahmedabad and across India are at the forefront of adapting to these changes. They are:
Modernizing Facilities: Investing in powerful computing resources necessary for training AI models.
Updating Curricula: Continuously revising their computer courses in Ahmedabad to include the latest AI/ML advancements, tools, and best practices.
Training Faculty: Ensuring instructors are up-to-date with AI/ML technologies and pedagogical approaches.
Fostering Collaborative Environments: Creating spaces where students can work on real-world projects and learn from peers and industry mentors.
The Future is Intelligent
The integration of AI and Machine Learning into computer education marks a significant leap forward. It promises a future where learning is more accessible, personalized, and effective, preparing students not just for the jobs of today, but for the innovative roles of tomorrow. Embracing these technological shifts is essential for any computer training institute aiming to provide relevant and impactful education.

Embracing a Daring Mindset: Small Leaps to a Bigger You
By Bobby Dsouza – Musician, Youth Motivator & Business Inspirationalist
Did you know that daring is built into you?
As the best motivational speaker in Mumbai, I often speak to thousands—corporate professionals, students, and youth—with a message that’s deeply personal to me: you don’t have to be fearless to be bold, but you do have to take the first step.
I didn’t learn this in a textbook or during one of my many talks. I learned it by watching my 1-year-old son.
He’s just a year and three months old. But every day, I see him dare—dare to crawl to the edge of the bed, explore corners we adults label as “danger zones,” and reach out into unknown spaces without fear. Not once does he stop to overthink or hesitate. Why?
Because fear hasn’t been taught to him yet.
Fear Is Learned – Daring Is Natural
That’s the magic. From birth, we’re naturally daring. We’re wired to explore, learn, leap, fall, and try again. But as we grow older, fear creeps in—taught by experiences, people, and sometimes even failure. And slowly, we lose the essence of that curious, fearless child within us.
But here’s the thing—you can reclaim that daring mindset.
As a personal growth speaker, I teach people how to reconnect with their inner drive. Whether you're a professional stuck in routine, a student feeling uninspired, or a leader seeking the next big leap—you can reignite that spark of boldness.
And you don’t need a life-changing event to do it.
You need small, deliberate steps. Micro-leaps. Daily dares.
How to Reignite Your Daring Side – One Step at a Time
You don’t need a vacation or a promotion to feel alive again. Sometimes, all it takes is:
Waking up earlier and walking in silence at a park
Trying a new recipe and surprising your loved ones
Writing a blog post on LinkedIn that shares your hard-won wisdom
Dancing alone to your favorite music in your living room
Asking a colleague you admire for feedback
Volunteering to speak when no one else raises their hand
Restarting that online course you left mid-way
Creating a TED-style session in your workplace, with YOU as the first speaker
These actions may seem small, but they’re courage in motion.
As a musician motivational speaker in India, I use rhythm and real-life stories to help people understand that daring isn’t about reckless leaps—it’s about choosing to stretch beyond your comfort zone consistently.
From Boredom to Boldness
Let’s face it—routine can be numbing.
Many professionals doing the same job year after year slowly stop challenging themselves. Safety becomes a comfort zone trap. But there’s always an inner voice whispering: “There’s more to you.”
That voice is your daring mindset calling.
You don’t need to leave your job or start over to answer it. You just need to start showing up for yourself differently. Be a little more expressive, a little more curious, a little more willing to try.
As a business motivational speaker, I’ve helped teams and leaders across India transform their work cultures by shifting from stagnation to innovation—one daring step at a time.
Daring Students, Inspired Youth
This message is even more vital for young minds.
As a motivational speaker for students and youth across India, I’ve seen first-hand how daring actions can ignite potential. The education system often emphasizes caution—follow the rules, get good grades, avoid mistakes. But real growth happens when students experiment, question, and step outside the norm.
Youth need role models who dare to live boldly. And sometimes, they just need permission to be brave.
This is why, in every school or university I speak at, I encourage students to:
Start a side project
Speak at a college event
Share their ideas on social media
Apply for that opportunity they think they’re not ready for
Because when one young person dares to shine, others follow.
Daring Doesn’t Require Perfection—Just Action
You’re not meant to wait for motivation to hit. You build it by acting. That’s the core of a daring mindset. It’s not a trait you're born with or a gift for a lucky few—it’s a skill you cultivate daily.
If you’re waiting for the weekend, the holiday, or a perfect moment to enjoy life, you’re missing out on the joy that’s available to you right now.
And the beautiful truth? The more you dare, the more confident you become. The more confident you are, the more you grow. The more you grow, the more you inspire others.
Final Thoughts: Be the Change-Maker
Daring doesn’t just improve your life—it shifts your surroundings. You become a role model. Your courage becomes contagious.
Whether you’re a student, a CEO, an artist, or someone searching for meaning—you already have what it takes. The daring spirit is still inside you, waiting to be unleashed.
Let today be the day you take a small leap.
Because when you dare to live boldly, you don’t just change your story—you help rewrite the narrative for everyone watching you.
About the Author Bobby Dsouza is a passionate youth motivational speaker, musician motivational speaker in India, and the best motivational speaker in Mumbai known for his high-energy sessions that combine storytelling, music, and mindset transformation. He speaks to students, professionals, and business leaders, helping them ignite courage and personal growth through bold, daily actions.

Unlocking Project Success with Agile Project Management Training
In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, organizations must be flexible, adaptive, and efficient to stay ahead. Whether it's software development, marketing, or product design, the ability to deliver high-quality outcomes quickly is critical. That’s where Agile Project Management Training becomes essential. Agile isn't just a buzzword—it’s a mindset and a structured methodology that empowers teams to work smarter, faster, and more collaboratively.
Tumblr media
In this blog, we'll explore what Agile Project Management Training is, its key benefits, and how your organization can unlock greater efficiency and success by partnering with experts like Apstax Solutions.
What is Agile Project Management? Agile Project Management is a methodology based on iterative development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between cross-functional teams. It emphasizes flexibility, continuous feedback, and frequent delivery of small, functional components of a project rather than a one-time, final deliverable. Key Agile frameworks include: Scrum: Focuses on time-boxed iterations called sprints.
Kanban: Visualizes workflow for continuous delivery.
Lean: Aims to maximize value by minimizing waste.
XP (Extreme Programming): Promotes high-quality software through technical practices.
Agile is especially popular in software development, but its principles are now widely applied in industries such as finance, marketing, manufacturing, and healthcare.
Why is Agile Project Management Training Crucial? While the Agile methodology sounds simple, implementing it effectively requires proper understanding, tools, and mindset. That’s where Agile Project Management Training proves invaluable.
Improves Team Collaboration and Productivity Agile promotes open communication, shared ownership, and continuous improvement. Training teaches team members how to collaborate effectively, conduct Agile ceremonies (like stand-ups and retrospectives), and use tools like Jira or Trello to stay aligned.
Reduces Time-to-Market One of the biggest benefits of Agile is delivering value faster. With shorter development cycles, feedback loops, and incremental releases, products hit the market quickly. Training equips teams with techniques to eliminate bottlenecks and increase speed.
Enhances Customer Satisfaction Agile emphasizes early and continuous delivery of valuable products. With regular feedback, products can be tailored to actual user needs. Teams trained in Agile are better equipped to keep customers at the center of the development process.
Minimizes Risk Because work is broken down into smaller, testable pieces, teams can catch issues early. Agile training helps project managers and developers learn how to prioritize tasks, manage backlogs, and adapt to changes with minimal disruption.
What Does Agile Project Management Training Cover? A comprehensive Agile training program typically includes: Agile Principles & Mindset: Understanding the Agile Manifesto and core values.
Frameworks & Practices: In-depth training in Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
Role-Specific Guidance: For Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and development teams.
Tool Proficiency: Hands-on sessions with Agile tools like Jira, Asana, or ClickUp.
Case Studies: Real-world examples of Agile success stories and pitfalls.
Certifications: Preparation for exams like Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, or SAFe Agilist.
With the right training partner, your team won’t just learn the terminology—they’ll master Agile through practical application.
