Chapter 1
April 17, 2020
Going to the grocery store after a long week at work was the last thing that Lauren "Wren" Arnold wanted to do, but she didn't have a choice if she wanted more than wine for dinner. Though, after the day she'd had, wine would play a large roll in her unwinding for the evening.
The day had started relatively normal and had been that way until about lunchtime, when she'd gotten a call from the school nurse informing her that two of her students were out for the day due to head lice. Having taught Kindergarten for nearly ten years, Wren had known that the rest of the day would be lost to the rest of the class being checked for head lice. She'd read book after book while her students had been checked by the school nurse and other volunteers. In the end, two additional students were found to be victims and they'd been sent home early while the rest of the class had been sent home with letters informing parents of the outbreak.
Wren, herself, had been subjected to a check once the class had left for the day and she, thankfully, had been free of the nasty bugs. She had then spent an extra hour working with the school nurse and janitor to give her classroom a thorough cleaning.
Now it was after six in the evening and Wren was just getting to the grocery store, something that usually happened a little after four on a normal Friday. She grabbed a hand-held basket then pulled out the handwritten grocery list she had compiled before the phone call and referenced it as she made her way through the fruits and the vegetable section.
After getting the fresh produce that was on her list, she made her way into one of the center aisles and grimaced when she heard a little kid crying loudly. The sound grew louder as she made her way up and down the aisles, grabbing what she needed. As she passed the aisle that the poor child was on, she couldn't help but steal a glance in their direction and froze when she recognized the upset little girl and her dad.
Hurrying towards them, Wren pulled a smile onto her face and used her best teacher voice to say, "Oh my, what's going on here?"
Father and daughter turned to look at her and she couldn't tell who was happier to see her: Chris Evans or his two, nearly three, year old daughter. A look of relief had washed over Chris's tired face as Adelaide "Addy" Evans stopped crying.
"What's wrong, Addy?" Wren asked as she dried the little girl's tears with her thumbs.
"We missed nap time," Chris explained. "And then I wouldn't let her bring her teddy bear into the grocery story." He raked his hand through his hair. "It's been a rough day, but we don't have anything in the house for dinner so…"
"You shop, I'll push and entertain her," Wren told him. She handed him her basket and he put it into the shopping cart.
"You might as well give me your list, too," he said, motioning for her list.
"How do you know I have a list?" Wren asked.
"Because you never go anywhere without a list," Chris stated. "You love making lists and you've been doing it the entire 24 years I've known you. So hand it over."
"Fine," she replied, handing over the list. "But stick to the brand names and ask if you have any questions."
Wren followed Chris through the store as she talked with Addy. Seeing the pair of them tonight was just what she needed after her horrible day. The single dad and his little girl had become a favorite treat to her otherwise boring life. Not that she would admit that out loud to anyone, especially not to her roommate Heidi, who happened to be the guidance counselor at the elementary school Wren worked at.
After three years of relative silence, Chris had blown back into Wren's life five months ago, a few weeks before Christmas. She'd heard via his older sister that his wife, Jessa, had filed for divorce in November, a few weeks after their third wedding anniversary. Wren knew it had come as a complete shock to Chris and he had spent the first few months in Boston being angry at the world and everyone in it save for Addy.
Wren knew very little about the divorce and the reasons for it. Articles about it reported 'irreconcilable differences', but Chris had been relatively quiet about it all, other than the occasional choice word for his ex-wife. Whatever his personal feelings about Jessa were, he refused to let anyone speak badly about her in front of Addy.
Chris's reentry into Wren's life had been relatively seamless. The first few months had been kind of rocky, mostly because of his attitude, but he was slowly becoming the Chris she loved and remembered. And Addy was adorable, smart, funny and Chris’s mini me. She had taken the cross country move remarkably well for a two and a half year old and was thriving under all the love showered on her by her grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Said family members had been sad, but had understanding, when Chris had decided, a month ago, that it was time for him and Addy to get their own place. Not that he had moved very away, having purchased a modest three bedroom, two and a half bathroom house a block away. Wren knew they were still adjusting to it being just the two of them, but she had faith that Chris would figure it out, it was obvious to anyone who looked at him that he loved his little girl.
"Ok, I think that's everything," Chris said as he dropped a pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream into Wren's basket.
"That wasn't on my list," Wren told him.
"But a head lice kit is," Chris stated, bringing up the last item that was scribbled on her list. "I think you need the ice cream."
"Chris, it's not part of my budget," she replied. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes; he might be able to afford anything his heart desired, but she had a strict budget.
"I'm paying for your groceries tonight," he told her then gave her a look that dared her to argue.
"Fine, but then I want an expensive bottle of -" Wren stopped when Chris pulled a bottle of her favorite wine out of her basket, making it clear that he had already swapped out the cheaper version when she had been distracting Addy. "I was joking, but I won't say no."
As they reached the checkout counters, they found long lines. They attempted to find the shortest one, but it was only a few minutes before Addy started fussing again.
"I can take her out to the car, if you'd like," Wren offered.
Chris fished his car keys from his pocket and then handed them to Wren. He told her where he parked and then hoisted Addy out of the cart. He gave her a raspberry on her neck, making her giggle, and then set her feet on the ground.
Wren took Addy's hand and led the little girl out of the grocery store. They sang a nursery rhyme as they looked for Chris's car. Once they had found it, they sat in the backseat together, with Addy holding onto her beloved teddy bear, while they waited for Chris. After a few minutes, Addy crawled onto Wren's lap and laid her head on her shoulder and Wren couldn't help but hold her close.
By the time Chris got to the car, Addy was asleep. He put his groceries into the trunk and then helped Wren transfer Addy into her car seat. The little girl slept through the process of being buckled in and didn't even flinch when Chris closed the door.
"Thank you for your help today," Chris said to Wren. "I was about to lose my mind. She was crying and I couldn't remember a thing I needed to buy."
"Maybe you should start making actual, handwritten lists," Wren teased as she pushed his shoulder. "But I'm happy I was there to help."
Chris laughed and wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tight.
Wren felt her heart skip a beat as she breathed in the comforting scent that was his cologne mixed with a faint hint of baby powder, laundry soap and men's soap. She wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him back, loving the way she felt safe and secure in his arms.
The honk of a horn startled them and Chris let go of her, forcing her to let go of him.
"I'd walk you to your car, but," he nodded towards his sleeping daughter.
"It's ok," Wren assured him. She grabbed the shopping cart and gave him a quick wave before she pushed the cart to her car. She loaded her groceries into the backseat of her car then returned the cart.
It wasn't until she arrived home and started unloading her bags of groceries that she saw that Chris had snuck a few other things into the basket while she hadn't been paying attention: a box of Twinkies, their go to after school snack before play practices, and a carton of Milk Duds, her favorite movie theater candy.
Wren shook her head and grabbed her phone. She quickly typed him a text and sent it to him.
Thanks for the Twinkies and the Milk Duds.
He responded a second later:
Thought you needed them with all that healthy crap. Addy is awake. TTYL
Wren chuckled and set her phone aside. She put a frozen dinner into the microwave and poured herself a glass of wine while she waited for it to cook. Then she carried her dinner over to the couch and settled down.
The desire she'd had to drown herself in wine when she'd left work was now gone and she didn't need her therapist roommate to tell her what the reason was.

It supports Wi-Fi and wired streaming via Ethernet for a smooth and steady HD and 4K Ultra HD picture quality. Translation: You’ll notice little loading time or buffering. A product that poses the question: You’re not still using those annoying, sticky-sheeted lint rollers to wage war against the scourge of pet hair, are you? (Photo: Walmart)
If you’re sick of vacuuming and lint-rolling your couch and bed, this nifty little gadget can help. It picks up pet hair like a pro, minus the sticky, hard-to-peel-off sheets. But how does this tiny tempest stack up against its more portable counterparts? And, can Apple’s budget-class desktop hang with the big guns when it comes to performance?
First Impressions
Tumblr media
Like all of Apple’s products, the Mac mini M1 forgoes flashy aesthetics for a more minimalistic look. You won’t find any color options here. The mini M1 comes in a single shade of take-it-or-leave-it silver. It’s the same brushed silver that Apple’s offered on its laptops for years, yet somehow the color still feels fresh.
The rear ports are tucked into a single solid piece of matte black plastic, and a rubberized power button hides just beside the connection for the power cable. Everything rests on a slightly grippy circular plastic base. This base lifts the mini off the desktop just enough to give the computer a floating appearance.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, the corner placement of the power button seems like a case of visual design over utility. We'd prefer to see the power button on the front of the unit. We also found that when pressing the power button, the mini rotated slightly on its base. While it only took a few seconds to right the unit, rotation happened frequently enough to prove irritating.
Tumblr media
Despite this tiny bugaboo, it’s hard to deny that the Mac mini M1 is a handsome machine. While its minuscule form factor could easily be hidden behind a monitor, we feel the M1 is really meant to be left on the desktop for passersby to ogle.
Key Features
The Mac mini M1 offers several different customization options. The base model boasts 8 gigabytes (GB) of RAM and a 256GB solid-state drive (SSD), and starts at $699.
RAM on the M1 mini can be configured up to 16GB, and storage can be configured up to 2TB. The specs on our demo model included 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD, at a slightly higher price of $899.
For a full list of technical specifications, we recommend you visit Apple's Mac mini M1 technical specification documentation.
There’s a First Time for Everything
Tumblr media
Underneath the hood of the Mac mini is Apple’s first-generation M1 processor. This processor’s muscular performance differs from previous Apple Intel chips. The primary difference is its ARM (Advanced RISC Machine) architecture, which uses smaller sets of instructions at the processor level to optimize computing speeds. It’s the same chip used in the 2020 MacBook Air and in the 13-inch 2020 MacBook Pro. Apple states that this processor is the first 5-nanometer processing chip in a personal computer.
Additionally, the M1 is the first “system-on-a-chip” (SoC) that has been designed for use specifically with Macs. The SoC combines the 8-Core CPU, the 8-Core GPU, the image processor, SSD controller, 16-Core Neural Engine, unified memory architecture (RAM), and many other components onto a single chip.
In Apple’s previous Intel iterations, I/O, security, and the CPU were all housed separately. By combining these components, the M1 can operate faster and more efficiently. Apple claims image processing performance is up to 7.1 times faster than the i3. Why Apple would choose to compare the M1 to something as old as the i3, rather than the more recent i5 or i7, however, is anyone’s guess.
That being said, there is no doubt that the M1 chip is fast. Windows pop open, and videos over our gigabit connection were smooth and lag-free. After throwing significant amounts of window dragging, application opening, Spotlight searching, and image processing at the M1, it didn’t break a sweat. Even rendering a twenty-minute video in iMovie couldn’t slow the mini down—it tackled the task in less than five minutes.
Unified Memory, But is It Enough?
One of the most interesting, yet double-edged, features of the M1 chip is its new unified memory architecture. This architecture allows the SoC to access RAM with low-latency and high-bandwidth. M1 uses a single cache of RAM that the SoC can access without having to use separate RAM “pools.” This means better overall performance and less power consumption.
Our benchmark testing of RAM proved many of Apple’s claims. Additionally, multiple open applications, several open Safari tabs, and YouTube streaming in 4K did not slow down our demo mini, despite its paltry 8 GB of RAM. It wasn’t until we tried to play 14 simultaneous YouTube videos that we noticed significant beach-balling. Once we closed a few tabs, the performance of the mini returned to normal.
Apple does offer a more robust 16 GB M1 on its website, but we were unable to procure one of these models before this review. Based on our testing though, it seems like 8 GB is plenty of RAM for most normal computing tasks.
The biggest drawback we found here was the lack of user-upgradeable RAM. Limiting the M1 to only 8 or 16 GB may cause power users to understandably balk. 16 GB doesn’t seem like a lot. For previous Intel mini’s, RAM topped out at 64 GB. And for brave DIYers who didn’t mind tinkering, RAM on previous Intel machines could be upgraded by the user.
This isn’t the case with the Mac mini M1. What you select at purchase is what you’re stuck with. While we feel that the upgraded 16 GB is more than enough for most users, some power users may want to consider how the mini might improve over the next several years.

Benchmark Testing the Mac Mini M1
We performed several tests on our demo mini to determine how it ranked among similar systems. We used three software utilities to perform these tests: GeekBench 5, Cinebench R23, and Blackmagicdesign's Disk Speed Test. All three of these utilities are available on Apple's App Store.

When compared to the 1000 score of an i3, which is GeekBench's control, the Mac mini M1 scored 703 points higher overall. In this test, a higher score indicates better performance, and doubling the score indicates a processor that is twice as fast.
CinebenchR23 scores
The next test we ran was with Cinebench R23, to see how our demo mini held up against some of its competitors.
Tumblr media
We completed this test twice, and achieved similar performance results. In the Single Core category, only the 2.81 GHz i7 processor outperformed the M1 mini. The margin, however, was a scant 12 points. The M1 overtook the 1.69 GHz i7 processor by a margin of 138 points.
Blackmagicdesign Disk Speed Test
Finally, we tested read and write speeds to the 512 GB internal SSD. We let the test run for several cycles before taking this screenshot.
Tumblr media
This test's results showed stellar read and write performance across the board when using a 5 GB load.

Plenty of Power on Display
Tumblr media
The mini supports native resolution up to 4K, and supports Native DisplayPort output over USB-C. DVI, VGA, and Thunderbolt 2 support are available with the purchase of additional adapters. DVI works over HDMI with an adapter as well. The mini also supports high-dynamic range (HDR) output.
The M1 will drive a single 6K display over Thunderbolt at 60Hz, and a single 4K display at 60Hz over HDMI 2.0. This means two-monitor setups don’t need additional adapters, as long as one monitor supports USB-C, and the other supports HDMI. If you have two USB-C monitors, however, you’ll need an adapter for the second monitor to work.
The display attached to our Mac mini M1 is the 2018 4K LG 27UK850-W. It’s connected via USB-C, and allows between 1504×846 and 3840×2160 resolutions. We could use the maximum resolution for our display with our demo M1, though by doing so, text became almost unreadably small. We feel that a resolution of 3008×1692 is the Goldilocks option if you're using this display.
We also tried hooking up a BenQ Zowie 24” RL2455 1080P monitor with the LG, but the difference in display resolution was enough to be distracting. After some deliberation, we chose to stick with the single display, opting to use an iPad Pro and Sidecar for additional screen real estate.
The available display options are decent enough for most users, but if you’re looking for additional external display power you’ll have to look elsewhere. The Mac mini M1 does not support external GPUs.
Some users need the extra oomph an external GPU provides for in-game graphics processing or heavy graphics applications. But let us be clear, while you may play games on the Mac mini M1, this is not a gaming computer. It's also not meant for the type of graphic-intensive work that might need an external GPU.
The mini's internal GPU will handle 4K and 6K output without issue, but if you’re planning on using it for your next Hollywood production or Major League Gaming tournament, you’re going to be disappointed. A machine like this is more suited for a studio apartment than a movie studio and a business lobby rather than a Call of Duty lobby.

Sound Off
The one area that is severely lacking in the M1 Mac mini is sound. The factory speaker system is atrocious, and music sounds like it’s being delivered via rotary telephone. Despite adjusting the volume using the dedicated keyboard shortcuts, we found YouTube videos were always either too loud or too quiet. This condition was easily remedied by connecting a Bluetooth speaker, or a pair of AirPod Pros, but for those users who value onboard sound quality, the Mac mini M1 falls flat.
Unfortunately, poor sound quality means that you’ll need to invest in a set of desktop speakers or headphones if you don’t already have them. This added expense isn’t an issue for most, but for users stretching their budget, added expense may be a problem.
As for the machine itself, we found the Mac mini M1 to operate at a whisper. Even when under heavy processing loads the internal sound from the machine was barely audible.
Short on Ports
Tumblr media
Something that negatively sets the Mac mini M1 apart from its Intel predecessors is its lack of available ports. Previous Intel units had four USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports and two USB-A ports. Not so with the new M1. With it, Apple decided to upgrade the previous Thunderbolt 3 ports to Thunderbolt 4, but they also reduced the total number of ports by two.
This reduction means two fewer places to plug in peripherals. It also means connecting a USB-C monitor reduces USB-C ports to one. While we haven’t found the decrease to be a problem, some users will need to purchase a separate hub if they would like to connect all of their external devices at the same time. Again, this adds an expense to the total cost of the M1.
For those who haven't made the switch to a Thunderbolt display, an HDMI 2.0 port allows the mini to connect to HDMI monitors.
Related: What is a USB Hub? 3 Reasons Why You Need One
A gigabit ethernet port is included for users who appreciate the speed of hard-wired connections. For us though, the Mac mini performed well over our gigabit Wi-Fi connection without any noticeable slowdowns.
Running a speed test on the unit gave us around 560 Mbps downstream and 41 Mbps upstream via the 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 connection. We tried this test several times, and found the speeds fairly consistent. This connection speed was enough to make website loading snappy and resulted in no lag for on-the-fly 4K video playback.
Tumblr media
The final port on the Mac mini M1 is the 3.5 mm audio jack. It’s nothing special, but we appreciate the ability to connect external speakers without sacrificing a precious USB port.
Hang Up Your Boots
Previously, applications like Parallels and Bootcamp gave users the ability to dual-boot Windows alongside macOS installations. With the M1 chip, however, this ability has been removed. Bootcamp no longer works with the M1 mini. At present, Parallels is developing software to port Windows onto the ARM Architecture, but development is still in its infancy. Licensing of Windows software has also become an issue.
We used a pre-release version of Parallels to gain some Windows functionality on our demo mini, but we wouldn’t trust it with important business documentation or critical files. This lack of Windows support means that the Mac mini M1 may not be the right choice for users who depend on dual-booting as a part of their workflows.
If having a Windows machine alongside your macOS installation is important to you, you’ll want to skip the Mac mini M1 until these kinks are fully worked out.
Should I Buy the Mac Mini M1?
Overall, we feel the Mac mini M1 is a phenomenal machine for everyday users who delight in snappy performance, small form-factor, and speedy all-around computing. Some power users will find the Mac mini M1 suits their needs quite well, but for users who need extreme processing capability, we suggest making another choice.
Tumblr media
For homebodies who don't mind sacrificing portability in their computer, or for those who prefer an ultraportable device, like an iPad, as their on-the-go tool, the Mac mini M1 makes for a fantastic home setup. For digital nomads, however, we feel the mini won’t compete with the portability of a dedicated laptop.
If you’re looking for a dependable budget machine for your business office, the Mac mini M1 is too good to pass up. And, if you need Windows support, the M1 may still be a good choice, but we recommend you wait a few months until someone figures out how to get Windows working correctly on ARM architecture.
Lastly, If you’re looking for a gaming computer or a video production machine, we say skip the mini altogether. You’ll be much happier with something that is a bit more specialized.
The Final Skinny on the M1 Mini
The Mac mini M1 ticks all the boxes for a great computer. The M1 chip slides through everyday tasks so smoothly, you’ll forget you’re using one of the most powerful machines in Apple’s arsenal.
The mini lies at that rare intersection of good, fast, and (relatively) cheap. While it does have some minor annoyances, they’re not dealbreakers. There’s so much more to love about this computer than there is to loathe.
With the M1, Apple has managed to shoehorn world-class performance into an unexpectedly small package. It’s an awesome value for the right type of user. But saying the Mac mini M1 is awesome is like saying the central coast of California is “pretty.” While the sentiment may be accurate, true appreciation only comes from experiencing it yourself.

Best iPod Speakers
Tumblr media
The iPod Touch is awesome for listening to music and having an excellent Bluetooth speaker to enjoy the tunes of yours allows you to switch up the volume to each party. Regardless of whether you are searching for a speaker for the home of yours, by the swimming pool, or perhaps for a camping trip, the following are the very best Bluetooth speakers you are able to purchase to complement the iPod touch of yours. What can be more sublime than listening to the music of yours without the tangles of cables, or perhaps charging the beloved iPod of yours while listening to your fave band's song that is brand new? What about taking the music of yours with one to the beach or perhaps maybe even in the shower? Because of a docking station, you'll don't have to sweat it out joining those limitless cables. And since they're wireless, they're lightweight. These speakers are lightweight and compact, which means you are able to get them along with you wherever. Wireless speakers might be minuscule in size compared to with the colossal and wired speakers set, though they also can deliver a terrific sound quality. Docking stations speakers are designed with a myrias of handy features: the batteries are actually rechargeable so you are able to get them anywhere, some even have built in carry handles and could be folded nicely, because the travels of yours. They are safe for outdoor use as many of them are actually waterproof and built to resist some weather type, you are able to get them in the bathtub along with you.
Sony SRS-XB41 Portable Bluetooth Speaker
With regards to rocking the party, the Sony SRS XB41 Bluetooth speaker has little competition. This particular party in a tiny program is loaded with lots of options to rival other Bluetooth speakers, including is it dustproof and waterproof (meaning you are able to get it almost anyplace like the pool) and that it's flashing strobe lights (so you are able to turn any kind of room into an enjoyable scene). The exterior design makes it clear this speaker is actually intended to bring to a party also from the playful color schemes of its, with all 4 designs featuring a minimum of 3 colors. Battery life is great and also you are able to get as much as twenty four hours of good without lights on or even as much as fourteen hours with additional bass as well as lights on. Probably The coolest thing that the Sony SRS XB41 allows you to do is actually hook it to up to hundred additional speakers of the identical design which means you are able to produce an immersive club anywhere via the speakers of yours.
Bose Home Speaker 500 with Alexa Voice Control Built-In
Probably the most high end choice on the list of ours is actually the Bose Home Speaker 500, one of the very best home speakers you are able to purchase nowadays. Bose has been making high quality cd solutions after 1964 as well as the Home Speaker 500 follows in this tradition. It fills the kitchen with wall-to-wall stereo audio, in spite of it to be a single speaker. It is able to link seamlessly with iPods or iPhones by Bluetooth or maybe it is able to alternately play music straight from a lot of music as well as radio services like Spotify, Amazon Prime Music, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, Pandora, and other things. Furthermore, it's Amazon's Alexa service built in, and that means you are able to ask Alexa to play millions of songs from several streaming services. Lastly, you are able to link the unit to the iPhone of yours by downloading the Bose Music app, in which you are able to sort as well as handle all of the music in the daily life of yours.
Ultimate Ears Boom 3
To take the Boom 3 to the next pool party of yours is not a problem. It's a high water resistant rating, allowing it to be immersed in three feet of water for thirty minutes. It is likewise shielded against mud and dirt, though you are able to hand wash the speaker with warm, soapy water only in case it gets messy. In addition, in case you genuinely want the Boom three to live up to the onomatopoeic brand of its, you are able to create yet another one (or up to 150 Boom speakers) to create a stereo pair and truly increase the roof!
Aomais GO
While the AOMAIS GO might not be your normal common Bluetooth speaker, it is a total beast to take along with you to a project web site or even camping. It is 30 hour battery life is going to allow you to pour the tunes of yours through all day then and long a number of. It actually has a built in 8,800mAh battery for charging the other products of yours by USB. It's an IPX7 rating, indicating it is able to get wet no problem, and its 30W speaker device is lots loud enough for cooking by the campfire.
AeroBull HD Classic Bulldog Bluetooth Speaker
The AeroBull is an exotic looking speaker system obviously targeted at fashion conscious music lovers, produced by Jarre Technologies. It need to take an additional dollop of courage as well as an eighties synth pop electronica wizard (Jean Michel Jarre) to come up with such a concept: a shades wearing bulldog shaped 2.1 speaker system (two stereo speakers along with a sub), capable of 240 Watts of clean power. The speakers, by the way, are actually in the sunglasses, as well as the remote is actually bone shaped. Of course. By the way, do not mistake the appearance of its for a gimmick - very well, they're a gimmick, though it may sound good adequate to warrant a high placement here. Beginning with the docking station, that is positioned on the head of its, it is very good to realize that this completely supports all present model iDevices with the super connection of its. And also this means that in case the device of yours utilizes the older 30 pin protocol you may need to have a good adapter. Alternative wired sound junctions (for TV, DVD and so on) are actually simple with the integrated 3.5mm mini jack aux feedback, however the AeroBull's rap hints at wireless talents, as this's in fact one great wireless Bluetooth speaker - an altogether different subject perhaps.. Though it is really worth noting that the same as the bodily inputs of its, the AeroBull's Bluetooth spec is actually a present model, which means assistance of the high-res aptX (wireless audio codec) streaming - up to CD quality in fact. The sound information is actually mighty fine and particularly then when positioned dealing with the kitchen and with the rear of its (think sub) towards a corner. The AeroDog proves it is far much more than simply a contemporary art piece and might indeed very easily become your iPhone/iPad's best friend. Be warned: it is often difficult to find, though we still believe it is a high pick.
JBL OnBeat Venue
Best does not usually mean newest, as well as the situation with JBL's OnBeat Venue or perhaps numerous other speaker docks on this list. Nevertheless, in the present era of wireless only speakers, in case you would like to dock the 30 pin iOS device of yours, the OnBeat Venue is probably the greatest speaker dock in phrases of value. After almost 5 years since peaking as a firm sector favourite, the OnBeat Venue still manages to wow with the sound quality of its. Rated at thirty watts, it is able to get loud with a lot of headroom. Even from a lower volume it provides clarity and constant low end - which, because the size of its, is just matched by something including the Bose SoundDock III at number 5 on this list. Needless to say, you can pick up a 30 pin to super port adapter for a couple of bucks. This, as well as the reality that JBL have included not merely a 3.5mm Aux feedback but also Bluetooth connectivity, justifies investing into this old timer. There's no hand held remote control as well as, in all honesty, JBL's MusicFlow app isn't by far the most straight forward we have used, but that aside this particular speaker dock is actually a breeze to get set up and pumping. We would say JBL OnBeat Venue is actually ideal for anybody searching for an excellent sounding technique, whether they are making use of a docking unit or perhaps not.
Earthquake Sound IQ52B
If perhaps bookshelf speakers might walk, talk, and invest all the money of theirs at an imaginary tech supermarket, they will come back looking as the Earthquake Sound IQ52B. This particular setup is actually an over engineered marvel of the docking speaker idea, featuring a wide range of outputs and inputs - out of a 30 pin dock to a S Video port, as well as a subwoofer paper. What is a lot better is the point that this wealth of connections is actually a consequence of suitable spec preparation, allowing for the many products to be incorporated into an extensive audio visual fix. Earthquake Sound have created the ca as one energetic speaker - containing a 200W Class A/B power amp - powering an additional passive speaker through the included speaker cable. The energetic speaker is actually the one featuring all of the sound inputs & outputs, like the 30 pin dock positioned on top. The setup allows for a number of ways of expansion, particularly in case you think about adding an energetic subwoofer, through the sub out. You'll have the choice to merely take the powered speaker and make use of it by itself. This may be a somewhat much more lightweight alternative for dance rehearsals, etc., small parties, so long as you do not care about being summed down to monophonic sound. The included remote is great and the sound quality is exceptional. The Earthquake Sound IQ52B deserves the best spot. In an era of usually flimsy sounding, plasticky speakers, it appears proud and loud.
iHome iBTW38
The iHome brand continues to be rather prolific lately, even with the prior dismissal of theirs. The iBTW38 is just one of their a few profitable Bluetooth speakers which includes a Qi charging dock. Of course, it is more or less a glorified alarm clock, but is as able as the vast majority of portable bluetooth speakers on the industry. The Qi dock of its provides quick charging, compatible with iPhone eight or even greater, and also selected Samsung eight models. Other Qi suitable products can continue to be charged at regular speed. Apart from the functionality of its as a Qi dock, the iBTW38 is actually a standard Bluetooth speaker and all the unit of its pairing efficiency as well as features are actually standard. The iHome iBTW38 is able to serve as a speakerphone and the digital voice of its echo cancellation attribute is pretty useful. Nevertheless, there aren't any vocal command functions as well as outside unit connectivity is held to a minimum with only an extra USB port for unit charging. The buttons are as well very fundamental & self explanatory, since most playback associated menus & controls are mostly delegated to the Bluetooth paired device. iHome provide almost no info on the unit's sound playback specifications but it suffices to suggest that the iBTW38 is actually ideal for the kitchen or bedside table. It might not be obnoxious, but it provides all as promised at an inexpensive value.
JE Hi-Fly
So far as Qi wireless speakers go, the JE Hi Fly should be one of probably the simplest designs out there. Simply put the Qi compatible unit of yours on top and you are docked. The Hi Fly is properly sized for the present crop of Apple and Android Qi enabled units. The wood like veneer has a touch of marmite divisiveness about it - you will either love it or perhaps hate it. Overall, this's a wise layout, wearing an obvious display in the slightly offset corner. The extra USB port - used for powering non Qi products - as well as 3.5mm Aux input are actually positioned on the complete opposite end. What stands out about this particular unit is the fact that there is actually an incorporated TF card reader - a great use for the sound guide library of yours or even saved music. No matter the loveable characteristics as well as design, we've to include that we would like better playback at this cost. We are not saying that the noise is actually atrocious - the speaker simply lacks definition & bass at greater volumes. Although it may not be perfect for music, the JE Hi Fly is ideal for podcasts, vlogs, the like and YT content.
Cavalier Air
Qi charging and docking is actually turning into a favorite element with speaker docks. The Cavalier Air is actually an ideal example, echoing the ethos of the traditional docking speakers of yesteryear but with the inclusion of contemporary wireless functionality. Fairly bigger compared to an average alarm clock radio, the Cavalier's design reminds us of older classics, similar to the JBL On Beat at number 5 on this list. The mahogany veneer of its and deep grey speaker cloth are a common looking combination which would match any kind of contemporary living room. The Qi charging dock works with any suitable iOs or maybe Android device, as well as suits actually the largest smartphones still offered. Management functionality LEDs are actually presented on a strip at the roof of the dock, but since this's predominantly a voice command gadget, there are just a few of actual physical buttons. Many features may be called out using Alexa's speech control or perhaps via outside Bluetooth connection, it is good that there is an addition of a multi feature button. This could activate various modes and can certainly possibly be personalized making use of the Cavalier App. Targeted at informal music enjoyment, the app has Pandora, Spotify, and Amazon Music now dialled in. The Cavalier will be able to also access a near infinite number of radio & streaming platforms, as a part of a Wi Fi home network, and the combined Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity allow for pairing of up to fifteen products. Sound-wise, you will not look for loud volume or award winning lucidity, but the Cavalier is actually ideal as a casual bookshelf speaker. Its twenty watts of energy allow for a lot of characterization and also low end, considering the size of its. Mixed with the sensible features of its as well as Alexa features, this will make the Cavalier Air among the best picks of this particular season.
Sony RDP T50IPN
This particular naming scheme actually should be some kind of inner joke for Sony's R&D department, as here we've the smaller (and much cheaper) version called RDP T50IPN which might have a relatively similar cd character but without its sibling's power and punch. This small speaker's main objective is actually living a place in the kitchen of yours, ideal for when you're relaxing, cooking for friends and impressing them with a few great mellow experience music - nothing weighty, loud or intrusive. In the event that this's one thing you're searching for, healthy you have discovered it.It is actually lightweight, it has a remote (which tucks behind the device - we like that) and apart from charging as well as playing sound from the iOS device of yours with the lightning port, it is able to take outside sound by way of a a mini jack. There is no AirPlay or Bluetooth wireless choice here but while docked, the iOS device of yours might still work the wi fi magic of its and convert it into huge DAB radio stations or maybe streaming services. The quality of the sound is not much more than what you are able to anticipate from a device this particular size though nothing actually under Sony's usual high standards. Recommended!
Castle James Retro Station
Castle James are not a household name, but their Retro Tech Multi Station speaker has proven quite prominent on account of the contemporary functionality of its as well as retro stylings. The latter stay ever popular, whether or not the Retro Station pays nothing much more than a visual homage to the tube radios of the past. Having a length as well as depth almost completely matching an iPhone eight Plus, this particular Castle James speaker is really very compact. The 2 multi function controls on the front side have self explanatory symbols representing volume control, track selection, and playback, even though the middle display is merely an easy clock display. The Retro Station utilizes a rechargeable battery (charged through a USB connection), making the Qi dock a great traveling companion. The Bluetooth performs of its and pairing are actually hassle-free and straightforward as well as the addition of an FM receiver as well as an SD memory card slot fulfill the promise of its of it being a thing of a' multi station'. These extra extra features undoubtedly open up options, particularly in case you've a sizable library of podcast or maybe music MP3s. The sound quality is typical, although the product is amazingly noisy for the size of its. In case you are once a basic Qi dock, the Retro Station is certainly an interesting choice. Little but completely formed; it does not guarantee a lot but it provides.
Bose SoundDock III
Bose Corporation's presence in the hi fi business is actually as Coca-Cola's to the food market and also the SoundDock III is actually a deservingly often used docking speaker - regardless of what some audiophiles might think. This's a small package created for casual listening and this's most likely the very definition of Bose's ethos. With numerous successful' mini' models, it likely took the design team simple minutes to' retrofit' an electric Bose speaker with a lightning port (a 30 pin dock model is still on Amazon). What we mean of course is the fact that you in case ever owned or even paid attention to a Bose, you are going to know the signature sound that is present right here - much more than somewhat emphasized good frequencies, scooped mids and large but at times boomy bass. This's not really a criticism (unless you are looking for audiophile frequency response) - it truly works, and also for the SoundDock III's size, the sound is actually sound, though we would still select the Earthquake Sound IQ52B because of its somewhat more faithful representation of middle and treble frequencies. In case the company's famed digital signal as well as acoustic processing could provide the SoundDock a small edge with several of the prior picks, the absence of any wireless ability is actually a small let down for the cost - unless obviously you begin talking about extra wireless adapters. Non-lightning port (and legacy) products could be hooked up through the auxiliary 3.5mm input at the back, along with everything is actually managed by the provided RF Bose remote. A near classic. three Techniques To boost Tactical Conclusion Producing Making use of Adhere to Me
In the following paragraphs I wish to introduce you to three ways to use Abide by Me possibly in the classroom or as A part of a unit education application, to improve tactical decision building and dilemma fixing. In long term articles or blog posts I'll go a lot more in depth with Each and every of such methods Together with Checking out some handy variants.
Simply because Stick to Me is so easy to know it is actually The perfect schooling Device for all those organizations with minimal coaching time. In a device where by typical Sergeant's Time education or leadership progress teaching is done Abide by Me is the ideal Option for training tactical determination building and problem fixing. Some would say that the purpose is to teach techniques however it essentially goes a little bit deeper than that.
At West Issue we've been thinking about how a cadet solves a specific tactical issue. Whether it is evaluating terrain or templating enemy areas The concept is to receive them to articulate the "why" in their actions, not necessarily the how. We agree the how is just as essential, but Have in mind there might be numerous acceptable options (the how). But why they opt for particular classes of motion is of particular desire to us.
We need to know exactly what the cadet is thinking, are they having into consideration factors that we deem important, are they in search of more than one Alternative, are they capable to adapt if the problem requires it, DO they have to adapt, this is more than simply training them techniques we have an interest within the "why" in their actions. Of course the byproduct of all this tactical selection generating is Mastering tactics because so as to solve the trouble You need to use the appropriate practices.
Follow Me is a great Device for "acquiring within the repetitions" by letting cadets to Participate in numerous scenarios depending on the amount time We've with them. This permits them to see distinct tactical conditions and apply their "tactical imagining". For this article I will give a short overview with the 3 strategies we use at West Level, in subsequent article content I can get into far more element on how We've employed these methods in our armed forces science programs.
Typical Method
For lack of a better term I will simply call this the conventional mode for the reason that This can be how we initially begun utilizing This system. In our navy science courses we normally have a single hour with anywhere from sixteen-18 cadets. This is often how the regular mode breaks down:
* The initial 10 minutes are devoted to instructing the cadets the best way to play the sport.
* The subsequent quarter-hour are used playing a circumstance that was picked out with the teacher. During this time a number of instructors will wander the ground seeing the cadets Perform the game. This is where we do loads of coaching with unique cadets.
* We shell out between 5-10 minutes carrying out a hotseat following motion review. Hotseat simply just signifies the cadets continue to be inside their seats. The nature in the AAR is actually to deliver up factors that we discovered while they were being playing the sport. Immediately after observing in excess of 5000 cadets Engage in the sport It's not tough to figure out wherever they will make faults.
* Following the mini AAR We've got them load both a variation in the circumstance they've got just performed, or a whole new state of affairs. 15 minutes are allocated to participating in this 2nd scenario, we use precisely the same coaching model for this iteration.
* The final party is an in depth AAR which happens to be where many the real learning can take area. For this AAR We're going to select two cadet AARs to indicate about the smartboard. We then shift the cadets to your briefing place where by both of those cadets are going to be required to AAR their own individual steps. Of course the discussion can become fairly lively. This AAR course of action is a good way for them to visualize how their units maneuver relative for the enemy, terrain, along with other friendly units.
This technique requires the teacher be pretty capable at running the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjeQxqFXnrU game, and they be relatively great coaches With regards to the tactical choice producing and applying the best techniques.
Electronic Chalk Talk
This is amongst the most straightforward approaches when working with Observe Me which is compatible as an introduction to the game and for all those instructors who could possibly be technically challenged when utilizing the Standard Method. Imagine this for a John Madden Investigation of a "canned" AAR.
* Each day or two ahead of the exercising the instructor will convey to us what circumstance they would want to use in addition to the training objectives for that lesson.
* Both the instructor or possibly a member of the WARCEN SIMS-TM will Enjoy the situation developing the AAR file.
youtube
* The situation can both be played "the right way" or we can inject quite a few mistakes or questionable choices. The theory could well be to make use of the errors as chatting factors to the lesson. We'd either wait for the cadets to detect People mistakes or we may mentor them to explain What's going on, body the challenge, identify vital details and the knowledge required to make a call, then deliver a solution.
A instruction help package deal utilizing this method can be an index of the talking details and once they manifest. This is a very powerful technique to introduce cadets to tactical conclusion producing because the teacher will mentor them by the decision generating approach and they are able to see how These steps Participate in out.
AAR Examination
This is solely an extension from the Digital Chalk Chat system. It demands an AAR file along with a schooling aid offer with the many conversing points.
* In this technique in lieu of an teacher led dialogue the cadet is actually allowed to Perform the AAR as persistently as they want in the set length of time.
* At the end of that time the cadet are going to be needed to provide a a person web page prepared Examination from the AAR.
Tumblr media
* We will tailor this work out to meet numerous skill stages. Such as for significantly less skilled cadets we would provide them that has a questionnaire that concentrates on certain facets of the Procedure. For more expert cadets we simply just make it possible for them to observe the AAR then publish over it.
For all those businesses that provide out homework This could be the perfect way to present the scholar a lower source research assignment. For anyone companies that assign browse-aheads for the following lesson This could be an outstanding technique to lay the muse for another days discussion.
These three approaches must be employed in different blend's to achieve the desired Discovering results. All a few procedures map on to unique amounts of instructor experience and college student experience. Take into account Stick to Me is a flexible Software that can be personalized to fit any companies coaching or educational demands.

Blue Protocol Closed Beta Test Feedback Report, Upcoming Changes
June 18, 2020 11:39 PM EST
All the upcoming changes and players feedback following the Closed Beta Test of Blue Protocol, the new anime stylized, PC Online Action RPG by Bandai Namco.
Bandai Namco held on June 18 the fourth live stream for Blue Protocol, debriefing on the game’s Closed Beta Test from late April. The core staff of the game appeared on stream as usual, and most notably explained how no announcements or schedule reveals would be happening on the stream, or anytime soon for that matter. No new gameplay or features were revealed either.
Instead, the Blue Protocol core staff explained how the development team carefully went through feedback received from Closed Beta Test players, and are focusing on improving the game. They explained how nowadays many online games do their Closed Beta Tests right before the Open Beta Tests, and the game’s actual launch. As such, some might be expecting an OBT and release date to be announced soon, but it won’t be the case. They will take the time the game needs. As such, Blue Protocol’s schedule isn’t finalized yet, hence why no schedule was announced. It’s possible Blue Protocol will get another Closed Beta Test before the Open Beta Test as well.
Along with these explanations, the staff also revealed multiple graphs and data from the Closed Beta Test. The development team received around 50,000 entries of feedback for the closed beta. They got a lot of positive feedback, but also received many negative opinions. They read everything and will take everything into account going forward. The staff noted there was a particularly important amount of negative feedback on certain aspects of the game, so they stressed out they strive to improve the game even more.
Blue Protocol Closed Beta Test Report Stream
youtube
The players’ feedback was very diverse. Data shared included how 59.6% CBT players had the game on the highest graphics configuration. Or how 71.9% CBT players finished the story content.
You can tell there are very varied players, and each player tried out all the classes. The amount of time each of the four Classes was played is nearly even.
However, there is a majority of negative opinions when it comes to certain gameplay aspects. Such as how much time it took players to gather materials for crafting and upgrading equipment and Imagine. 30.8% of players thought the time it took was normal,  However, 40% of players thought it took a bit too much time, and 24.7% of players thought it took too much time. Basically, most players said the CBT was too grindy.
As for the overall gameplay during action battles: 11% found it very good, 24.9% found it so-so good, 25.6 % found it normal, 31.3% found it so-so hard, and 7.2% said it was very hard. The staff explained how overall, the people who voted positively mentioned in the feedback they got used to the game’s action battles quickly, while those who voted negatively said they had a lot of trouble adapting to the game’s battles. Which makes sense as not every player is particularly good at action games.
Blue Protocol: 42 Frequently Asked Questions and Upcoming Changes
Following that, the stream switched to Frequently Asked Questions. The staff answered 42 questions in total. Most of these were answered in the past and we covered that in our summaries of the previous three streams here, here, and here.
We heard again how the character creation will be improved, and the staff again stressed they will add even more costume parts, accessories, voices, etc later on.
The staff also specified they will implement underwear to choose from too, so those who enjoy that shouldn’t be worried.
The lockon system will be improved.
Battles can become too flashy and confusing when there are many players, so they will make it so you can only display specific effects.
Multiple players noted how it’s stressful that enemies get knocked back all the time when you attack them at close range. It makes combos and the attacks from long-ranged players easier to miss. The staff will adjust that.
They will improve the UI such as adding the time limit of buffs and debuffs.
Certain buttons in certain menus were also too small and hard to click on. This element of the UI will be improved as well.
Bosses and raid bosses will be improved, so the battles are more strategical.
They’ll keep working on the Skills and the Classes’ Skill Trees too.
The Imagine system will be improved too. For example, Mount Imagine will stop loosing energy when you’re staying still. They’ll also add methods to recover a Mount’s Energy besides going back to a town.
They’ll keep improving the Coliseum and Time Attack too, and try to fix exploits so there are less players cheesing through the ranking.
We’ll be able to display our equipped weapon even inside towns.
The loading times for entering towns will be reduced in the future.
The map and mini-map will be improved.
Many players also asked for a mini-map inside dungeons. The developers explained they purposefully didn’t put one because it doesn’t fit their conception of a dungeon. However, they will consider adding one now.
The staff acknowledged the Matching system in the Closed Beta Test was very unstable, so it will be improved.
They’ll improve the experience of players playing with controllers, and add better button mapping options.
The Follow and Followers system, basically the friendslist system, will be improved.
A wishlist-like system will be added so it’s easy to tell what you are hunting for and which equips do you currently aim to craft or upgrade.
The Ability system will be reworked and improved too. Crafting difficulty will change too. In the CBT Crafting was hard from the start. Now, It’ll be easier at first, and gradually get harder.
Last but not least, the Blue Protocol core staff also acknowledged bag space is pretty small, and how annoying it is to go back to town all the time because you can’t carry any more loot. They received a massive amount of negative feedback on that aspect of the game alone. So they are trying to find ways to make it less stressful for players, while analyzing the CBT data. One idea they have in mind is being able to send specific items to storage without going back to town.
They aren’t certain yet if they’ll increase the bag’s capacity, but if they do, it’ll be via unlockables in gameplay. They stressed out players won’t be able to buy bag space with real money, and they will never add this sort of pay-to-win stuff. They also stressed out they knew the bag size was probably too small, but purposefully didn’t talk about it before the Closed Beta, as if they did, players wouldn’t have sent as much feedback regarding that.
— BLUE PROTOCOL (@BLUEPROTOCOL_JP) June 18, 2020
As explained in the tweet above, a more detailed report of the Closed Beta Test will be published later on June 19 on the game’s official site. If time permits, I’ll be there to translate additional details we learn from it.
As the stream ended, the Blue Protocol staff said to keep your eyes on the game’s Twitter, that the game’s development is still going well, and that they’ll have new announcements coming when they’re ready. They acknowledged certain players are disappointed we still haven’t heard of an Open Beta Test, but they will only announce it when it’s ready.  The team wishes to make the best game possible.
Blue Protocol was only announced on PC for now. However, guessing from job listings, it’s also possible Blue Protocol will come to PS5 and Xbox Series X.  The staff also alreayd mentioned they are thinking about releasing the game outside Japan, but for now are focusing on development and the Beta Tests.

Fitness aerobics: history and types
Tumblr media
How to maintain health, give a slim figure, lose weight, if a person is far from a serious sport? The output is fitness aerobics. A variety of exercises that mimic the elements of folk dance or power gymnastics under rhythmic music will not only strengthen the heart and blood vessels, return flexibility to the spine and joints, but also help to lose weight, make the figure slender. Classes are not only good for health, but also perfectly raise the mood.
Fitness aerobics is considered a young sport. She organically connects sports and art. a variety of exercises are performed under dynamic music, not only improve health, but also give a good mood, apparently, that's why this fascinating and spectacular sport has become popular in all corners of the world. The founder of this gymnastics is Jane Fonda (American actress).
When Jane turned 40, she left the cinema, politics and devoted herself to a healthy lifestyle. It is she who has the idea of doing exercises with rhythmic music. The actress opened fitness centers, published a million – piece "book-guide", recorded video courses. Simple at first glance, the idea became a real breakthrough. He brought the author World Fame and millions of incomes. Advantages of aerobics
Classes are available, simple, exercises can be performed by people of all age and sex categories, no special training is required, even people who have never been passionate about sports can do aerobics. Unlike the big sport, there are no injuries of dangerous elements here.
Health benefits:
aerobic exercise is a great way to tone muscles; burn fat cells, promote weight loss; all muscle groups are worked out, the figure becomes slim; healing the respiratory system; develop flexibility, plasticity; glucose is broken down (exercise is especially useful for diabetics); lactic acid is produced, which is responsible for the growth of muscle mass; strengthen the heart and blood vessels; normalize metabolism; the charge of music raises the mood, gives a charge of vivacity for the whole day.
There are many types of this sport, but given the impact of exercise on the body, we can distinguish 4 groups:
Development of cardiorespiratory endurance. Formation of a beautiful proportional figure, endurance, muscle building. Improve musical and rhythmic skills, agility, flexibility. Achieve relaxation.
The first group includes:
Rope-Skipping; aerobics-Step.
Aerobics-Step was developed by Gene Miller (American coach). This is an athletic Gymnastics using different weights, like dumbbells. Exercises are performed on a platform of small height. Suitable for people of different ages and physical preparation. Exercises not only improve the figures, but also strengthen the heart, have a beneficial effect on blood vessels, spine, joints.
Richard Stendhal, Belgian coach. At first glance, this gymnastics seems difficult, it consists of different jumps and vigorous, intense movements that effectively act on important muscles. Exercises not only strengthen health, but develop endurance, agility, strength qualities, improve coordination.
The second category of fitness aerobics includes:
terarobica; super strong; aerobics-PAMP; aerobics-slide; fitball-aerobics.
Super strong and aerobics-PAMP refer to power Gymnastics. Exercises are performed with dumbbells, bodyboard, shock absorbers, mini-dumbbells.
Gliding aerobics is practiced on a special track, imitating the movements of a skater or skier.
In fitball classes, Gymnastics is performed while lying or sitting on special balls. Exercises are useful for problems with the spine, they improve posture, improve coordination of movements.
Aerobic slide
Terarobika consists of dance and strength exercises with latex tape to music. Rhythmic melody, slow motion choreography, individual strength loads make these classes very attractive.
Third category:
low impect); dance aerobics.
Low Impact is a dance-oriented Gymnastics, from exercises of increased complexity. It lacks shock loads that cause an undesirable piezoelectric effect.
Dance includes such elements of dances as hip-hop, Salsa or Latina, aerodynamics or African American, Rock and roll and others.
Fourth group:
yoga aerobics; flex course.
Yoga aerobics is a combination of breathing exercises with asanas, relaxation and stretching.
In addition to these groups, there are many others, but they are not yet very popular.
<a href=yoga-aerobics" width = "100%"> Training programs
There are currently three types of training:
individual; with a partner; group.
No more than 12 people participate in group classes. Exercises take place under the rhythmic dance music, with a smooth transition from one task to another, without pauses. Most often this sport is chosen for the purpose of reducing weight. The weight loss program will be effective only with regular exercises (at least 3 or 4 times a week) in combination with proper Nutrition. In this case, the result will appear after a few courses, and a noticeable weight loss will occur after 2 months of classes.
The most popular are individual workouts, they are preferred by 80% of people. The main goal is the individual selection of exercises. This type of course is chosen for weight correction, rehabilitation after injuries or diseases.
Artists, dancers and professional athletes train individually. Classes are built taking into account the physical condition of the course participant, his health, the purpose of training.
Since the exercises are performed at a fast pace, the clothes should be light and match the input (if the athlete participates in competitions or performances), namely:
Top and pants. You can wear shorts, leotards, elastic panties, tank top, T-shirt or tight overalls. High socks. Special shoes for aerobics or sneakers.
It is allowed and recommended to wear bracelets, fixing bandages made of elastic fabric (knee pads, etc.), belts.
For classes it is advisable to take a bottle of water and a towel, but during the exercises you need to drink a little, no more than 3-4 SIPs, because the load on the internal organs is already very large.
uniform clothing Are there any contraindications?
The principle of" do no harm " applies not only to medicine, but also to sports. When selecting a type of aerobics, you should use not the choice of large or low physical exertion, but the rule: whether the training corresponds to the capabilities of the body.
When choosing the type of classes, the coach takes into account:
basic physical data; work of the heart (heart rate); blood pressure.
Taking into account all these data, physical exertion is selected.
Main contraindications:
all diseases in the acute stage; serious diseases of the central nervous system; heart and vascular problems; hypertension; asthma; renal impairment; liver disease, thrombophlebitis; glaucoma.
Before starting training, you should consult a doctor.

How to Use Test-Time Augmentation to Improve Model Performance for Image Classification
Data augmentation is a technique often used to improve performance and reduce generalization error when training neural network models for computer vision problems.
The image data augmentation technique can also be applied when making predictions with a fit model in order to allow the model to make predictions for multiple different versions of each image in the test dataset. The predictions on the augmented images can be averaged, which can result in better predictive performance.

Test-Time Augmentation
Data augmentation is an approach typically used during the training of the model that expands the training set with modified copies of samples from the training dataset.
Data augmentation is often performed with image data, where copies of images in the training dataset are created with some image manipulation techniques performed, such as zooms, flips, shifts, and more.
The artificially expanded training dataset can result in a more skillful model, as often the performance of deep learning models continues to scale in concert with the size of the training dataset. In addition, the modified or augmented versions of the images in the training dataset assist the model in extracting and learning features in a way that is invariant to their position, lighting, and more.
Test-time augmentation, or TTA for short, is an application of data augmentation to the test dataset.
Specifically, it involves creating multiple augmented copies of each image in the test set, having the model make a prediction for each, then returning an ensemble of those predictions.
Augmentations are chosen to give the model the best opportunity for correctly classifying a given image, and the number of copies of an image for which a model must make a prediction is often small, such as less than 10 or 20.
Often, a single simple test-time augmentation is performed, such as a shift, crop, or image flip.
In their 2015 paper that achieved then state-of-the-art results on the ILSVRC dataset titled “Very Deep Convolutional Networks for Large-Scale Image Recognition,” the authors use horizontal flip test-time augmentation:
We also augment the test set by horizontal flipping of the images; the soft-max class posteriors of the original and flipped images are averaged to obtain the final scores for the image.
Similarly, in their 2015 paper on the inception architecture titled “Rethinking the Inception Architecture for Computer Vision,” the authors at Google use cropping test-time augmentation, which they refer to as multi-crop evaluation.

Test-Time Augmentation in Keras
Test-time augmentation is not provided natively in the Keras deep learning library but can be implemented easily.
The ImageDataGenerator class can be used to configure the choice of test-time augmentation. For example, the data generator below is configured for horizontal flip image data augmentation.
# configure image data augmentation datagen = ImageDataGenerator(horizontal_flip=True)
The augmentation can then be applied to each sample in the test dataset separately.
First, the dimensions of the single image can be expanded from [rows][cols][channels] to [samples][rows][cols][channels], where the number of samples is one, for the single image. This transforms the array for the image into an array of samples with one image.
# convert image into dataset samples = expand_dims(image, 0)
Next, an iterator can be created for the sample, and the batch size can be used to specify the number of augmented images to generate, such as 10.
# prepare iterator it = datagen.flow(samples, batch_size=10)
The iterator can then be passed to the predict_generator() function of the model in order to make a prediction. Specifically, a batch of 10 augmented images will be generated and the model will make a prediction for each.
# make predictions for each augmented image yhats = model.predict_generator(it, steps=10, verbose=0)
Finally, an ensemble prediction can be made. A prediction was made for each image, and each prediction contains a probability of the image belonging to each class, in the case of image multiclass classification.
An ensemble prediction can be made using soft voting where the probabilities of each class are summed across the predictions and a class prediction is made by calculating the argmax() of the summed predictions, returning the index or class number of the largest summed probability.
# sum across predictions summed = numpy.sum(yhats, axis=0) # argmax across classes return argmax(summed)
We can tie these elements together into a function that will take a configured data generator, fit model, and single image, and will return a class prediction (integer) using test-time augmentation.
# make a prediction using test-time augmentation def tta_prediction(datagen, model, image, n_examples): # convert image into dataset samples = expand_dims(image, 0) # prepare iterator it = datagen.flow(samples, batch_size=n_examples) # make predictions for each augmented image yhats = model.predict_generator(it, steps=n_examples, verbose=0) # sum across predictions summed = numpy.sum(yhats, axis=0) # argmax across classes return argmax(summed)
Now that we know how to make predictions in Keras using test-time augmentation, let’s work through an example to demonstrate the approach.
Dataset and Baseline Model
We can demonstrate test-time augmentation using a standard computer vision dataset and a convolutional neural network.
Before we can do that, we must select a dataset and a baseline model.
We will use the CIFAR-10 dataset, comprised of 60,000 32×32 pixel color photographs of objects from 10 classes, such as frogs, birds, cats, ships, etc. CIFAR-10 is a well-understood dataset and widely used for benchmarking computer vision algorithms in the field of machine learning. The problem is “solved.” Top performance on the problem is achieved by deep learning convolutional neural networks with a classification accuracy above 96% or 97% on the test dataset.
We will also use a convolutional neural network, or CNN, model that is capable of achieving good (better than random) results, but not state-of-the-art results, on the problem. This will be sufficient to demonstrate the lift in performance that test-time augmentation can provide.
The CIFAR-10 dataset can be loaded easily via the Keras API by calling the cifar10.load_data() function, that returns a tuple with the training and test datasets split into input (images) and output (class labels) components.
# load dataset (trainX, trainY), (testX, testY) = load_data()
It is good practice to normalize the pixel values from the range 0-255 down to the range 0-1 prior to modeling. This ensures that the inputs are small and close to zero, and will, in turn, mean that the weights of the model will be kept small, leading to faster and better learning.
# normalize pixel values trainX = trainX.astype('float32') / 255 testX = testX.astype('float32') / 255
The class labels are integers and must be converted to a one hot encoding prior to modeling.
This can be achieved using the to_categorical() Keras utility function.
# one hot encode target values trainY = to_categorical(trainY) testY = to_categorical(testY)
We are now ready to define a model for this multi-class classification problem.
The model has a convolutional layer with 32 filter maps with a 3×3 kernel using the rectifier linear activation, “same” padding so the output is the same size as the input and the He weight initialization. This is followed by a batch normalization layer and a max pooling layer.
This pattern is repeated with a convolutional, batch norm, and max pooling layer, although the number of filters is increased to 64. The output is then flattened before being interpreted by a dense layer and finally provided to the output layer to make a prediction.
# define model model = Sequential() model.add(Conv2D(32, (3, 3), activation='relu', padding='same', kernel_initializer='he_uniform', input_shape=(32, 32, 3))) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(MaxPooling2D((2, 2))) model.add(Conv2D(64, (3, 3), activation='relu', padding='same', kernel_initializer='he_uniform')) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(MaxPooling2D((2, 2))) model.add(Flatten()) model.add(Dense(128, activation='relu', kernel_initializer='he_uniform')) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(Dense(10, activation='softmax'))
The Adam variation of stochastic gradient descent is used to find the model weights.
The categorical cross entropy loss function is used, required for multi-class classification, and classification accuracy is monitored during training.
# compile model model.compile(optimizer='adam', loss='categorical_crossentropy', metrics=['accuracy'])
The model is fit for three training epochs and a large batch size of 128 images is used.
# fit model model.fit(trainX, trainY, epochs=3, batch_size=128)
Once fit, the model is evaluated on the test dataset.
# evaluate model _, acc = model.evaluate(testX, testY, verbose=0) print(acc)
The complete example is listed below and will easily run on the CPU in a few minutes.
# baseline cnn model for the cifar10 problem from keras.datasets.cifar10 import load_data from keras.utils import to_categorical from keras.models import Sequential from keras.layers import Conv2D from keras.layers import MaxPooling2D from keras.layers import Dense from keras.layers import Flatten from keras.layers import BatchNormalization # load dataset (trainX, trainY), (testX, testY) = load_data() # normalize pixel values trainX = trainX.astype('float32') / 255 testX = testX.astype('float32') / 255 # one hot encode target values trainY = to_categorical(trainY) testY = to_categorical(testY) # define model model = Sequential() model.add(Conv2D(32, (3, 3), activation='relu', padding='same', kernel_initializer='he_uniform', input_shape=(32, 32, 3))) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(MaxPooling2D((2, 2))) model.add(Conv2D(64, (3, 3), activation='relu', padding='same', kernel_initializer='he_uniform')) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(MaxPooling2D((2, 2))) model.add(Flatten()) model.add(Dense(128, activation='relu', kernel_initializer='he_uniform')) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(Dense(10, activation='softmax')) # compile model model.compile(optimizer='adam', loss='categorical_crossentropy', metrics=['accuracy']) # fit model history = model.fit(trainX, trainY, epochs=3, batch_size=128) # evaluate model _, acc = model.evaluate(testX, testY, verbose=0) print(acc)
Running the example shows that the model is capable of learning the problem well and quickly.
A test set accuracy of about 66% is achieved, which is okay, but not terrific. The chosen model configuration has already started to overfit and could benefit from the use of regularization and further tuning. Nevertheless, this provides a good starting point for demonstrating test-time augmentation.
Epoch 1/3 50000/50000 [==============================] - 64s 1ms/step - loss: 1.2135 - acc: 0.5766 Epoch 2/3 50000/50000 [==============================] - 63s 1ms/step - loss: 0.8498 - acc: 0.7035 Epoch 3/3 50000/50000 [==============================] - 63s 1ms/step - loss: 0.6799 - acc: 0.7632 0.6679
Neural networks are stochastic algorithms and the same model fit on the same data multiple times may find a different set of weights and, in turn, have different performance each time.
In order to even out the estimate of model performance, we can change the example to re-run the fit and evaluation of the model multiple times and report the mean and standard deviation of the distribution of scores on the test dataset.
First, we can define a function named load_dataset() that will load the CIFAR-10 dataset and prepare it for modeling.
# load and return the cifar10 dataset ready for modeling def load_dataset(): # load dataset (trainX, trainY), (testX, testY) = load_data() # normalize pixel values trainX = trainX.astype('float32') / 255 testX = testX.astype('float32') / 255 # one hot encode target values trainY = to_categorical(trainY) testY = to_categorical(testY) return trainX, trainY, testX, testY
Next, we can define a function named define_model() that will define a model for the CIFAR-10 dataset, ready to be fit and then evaluated.
# define the cnn model for the cifar10 dataset def define_model(): # define model model = Sequential() model.add(Conv2D(32, (3, 3), activation='relu', padding='same', kernel_initializer='he_uniform', input_shape=(32, 32, 3))) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(MaxPooling2D((2, 2))) model.add(Conv2D(64, (3, 3), activation='relu', padding='same', kernel_initializer='he_uniform')) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(MaxPooling2D((2, 2))) model.add(Flatten()) model.add(Dense(128, activation='relu', kernel_initializer='he_uniform')) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(Dense(10, activation='softmax')) # compile model model.compile(optimizer='adam', loss='categorical_crossentropy', metrics=['accuracy']) return model
Next, an evaluate_model() function is defined that will fit the defined model on the training dataset and then evaluate it on the test dataset, returning the estimated classification accuracy for the run.
# fit and evaluate a defined model def evaluate_model(model, trainX, trainY, testX, testY): # fit model model.fit(trainX, trainY, epochs=3, batch_size=128, verbose=0) # evaluate model _, acc = model.evaluate(testX, testY, verbose=0) return acc
Next, we can define a function with new behavior to repeatedly define, fit, and evaluate a new model and return the distribution of accuracy scores.
The repeated_evaluation() function below implements this, taking the dataset and using a default of 10 repeated evaluations.
# repeatedly evaluate model, return distribution of scores def repeated_evaluation(trainX, trainY, testX, testY, repeats=10): scores = list() for _ in range(repeats): # define model model = define_model() # fit and evaluate model accuracy = evaluate_model(model, trainX, trainY, testX, testY) # store score scores.append(accuracy) print('> %.3f' % accuracy) return scores
Finally, we can call the load_dataset() function to prepare the dataset, then repeated_evaluation() to get a distribution of accuracy scores that can be summarized by reporting the mean and standard deviation.
# load dataset trainX, trainY, testX, testY = load_dataset() # evaluate model scores = repeated_evaluation(trainX, trainY, testX, testY) # summarize result print('Accuracy: %.3f (%.3f)' % (mean(scores), std(scores)))
Tying all of this together, the complete code example of repeatedly evaluating a CNN model on the MNIST dataset is listed below.
# baseline cnn model for the cifar10 problem, repeated evaluation from numpy import mean from numpy import std from keras.datasets.cifar10 import load_data from keras.utils import to_categorical from keras.models import Sequential from keras.layers import Conv2D from keras.layers import MaxPooling2D from keras.layers import Dense from keras.layers import Flatten from keras.layers import BatchNormalization # load and return the cifar10 dataset ready for modeling def load_dataset(): # load dataset (trainX, trainY), (testX, testY) = load_data() # normalize pixel values trainX = trainX.astype('float32') / 255 testX = testX.astype('float32') / 255 # one hot encode target values trainY = to_categorical(trainY) testY = to_categorical(testY) return trainX, trainY, testX, testY # define the cnn model for the cifar10 dataset def define_model(): # define model model = Sequential() model.add(Conv2D(32, (3, 3), activation='relu', padding='same', kernel_initializer='he_uniform', input_shape=(32, 32, 3))) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(MaxPooling2D((2, 2))) model.add(Conv2D(64, (3, 3), activation='relu', padding='same', kernel_initializer='he_uniform')) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(MaxPooling2D((2, 2))) model.add(Flatten()) model.add(Dense(128, activation='relu', kernel_initializer='he_uniform')) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(Dense(10, activation='softmax')) # compile model model.compile(optimizer='adam', loss='categorical_crossentropy', metrics=['accuracy']) return model # fit and evaluate a defined model def evaluate_model(model, trainX, trainY, testX, testY): # fit model model.fit(trainX, trainY, epochs=3, batch_size=128, verbose=0) # evaluate model _, acc = model.evaluate(testX, testY, verbose=0) return acc # repeatedly evaluate model, return distribution of scores def repeated_evaluation(trainX, trainY, testX, testY, repeats=10): scores = list() for _ in range(repeats): # define model model = define_model() # fit and evaluate model accuracy = evaluate_model(model, trainX, trainY, testX, testY) # store score scores.append(accuracy) print('> %.3f' % accuracy) return scores # load dataset trainX, trainY, testX, testY = load_dataset() # evaluate model scores = repeated_evaluation(trainX, trainY, testX, testY) # summarize result print('Accuracy: %.3f (%.3f)' % (mean(scores), std(scores)))
Running the example may take a while on modern CPU hardware and is much faster on GPU hardware.
The accuracy of the model is reported for each repeated evaluation and the final mean model performance is reported.
In this case, we can see that the mean accuracy of the chosen model configuration is about 68%, which is close to the estimate from a single model run.
> 0.690 > 0.662 > 0.698 > 0.681 > 0.686 > 0.680 > 0.697 > 0.696 > 0.689 > 0.679 Accuracy: 0.686 (0.010)
Now that we have developed a baseline model for a standard dataset, let’s look at updating the example to use test-time augmentation.
Example of Test-Time Augmentation
We can now update our repeated evaluation of the CNN model on CIFAR-10 to use test-time augmentation.
The tta_prediction() function developed in the section above on how to implement test-time augmentation in Keras can be used directly.
# make a prediction using test-time augmentation def tta_prediction(datagen, model, image, n_examples): # convert image into dataset samples = expand_dims(image, 0) # prepare iterator it = datagen.flow(samples, batch_size=n_examples) # make predictions for each augmented image yhats = model.predict_generator(it, steps=n_examples, verbose=0) # sum across predictions summed = numpy.sum(yhats, axis=0) # argmax across classes return argmax(summed)
We can develop a function that will drive the test-time augmentation by defining the ImageDataGenerator configuration and call tta_prediction() for each image in the test dataset.
It is important to consider the types of image augmentations that may benefit a model fit on the CIFAR-10 dataset. Augmentations that cause minor modifications to the photographs might be useful. This might include augmentations such as zooms, shifts, and horizontal flips.
In this example, we will only use horizontal flips.
# configure image data augmentation datagen = ImageDataGenerator(horizontal_flip=True)
We will configure the image generator to create seven photos, from which the mean prediction for each example in the test set will be made.
The tta_evaluate_model() function below configures the ImageDataGenerator then enumerates the test dataset, making a class label prediction for each image in the test dataset. The accuracy is then calculated by comparing the predicted class labels to the class labels in the test dataset. This requires that we reverse the one hot encoding performed in load_dataset() by using argmax().
# evaluate a model on a dataset using test-time augmentation def tta_evaluate_model(model, testX, testY): # configure image data augmentation datagen = ImageDataGenerator(horizontal_flip=True) # define the number of augmented images to generate per test set image n_examples_per_image = 7 yhats = list() for i in range(len(testX)): # make augmented prediction yhat = tta_prediction(datagen, model, testX[i], n_examples_per_image) # store for evaluation yhats.append(yhat) # calculate accuracy testY_labels = argmax(testY, axis=1) acc = accuracy_score(testY_labels, yhats) return acc
The evaluate_model() function can then be updated to call tta_evaluate_model() in order to get model accuracy scores.
# fit and evaluate a defined model def evaluate_model(model, trainX, trainY, testX, testY): # fit model model.fit(trainX, trainY, epochs=3, batch_size=128, verbose=0) # evaluate model using tta acc = tta_evaluate_model(model, testX, testY) return acc
Tying all of this together, the complete example of the repeated evaluation of a CNN for CIFAR-10 with test-time augmentation is listed below.
# cnn model for the cifar10 problem with test-time augmentation import numpy from numpy import argmax from numpy import mean from numpy import std from numpy import expand_dims from sklearn.metrics import accuracy_score from keras.datasets.cifar10 import load_data from keras.utils import to_categorical from keras.preprocessing.image import ImageDataGenerator from keras.models import Sequential from keras.layers import Conv2D from keras.layers import MaxPooling2D from keras.layers import Dense from keras.layers import Flatten from keras.layers import BatchNormalization # load and return the cifar10 dataset ready for modeling def load_dataset(): # load dataset (trainX, trainY), (testX, testY) = load_data() # normalize pixel values trainX = trainX.astype('float32') / 255 testX = testX.astype('float32') / 255 # one hot encode target values trainY = to_categorical(trainY) testY = to_categorical(testY) return trainX, trainY, testX, testY # define the cnn model for the cifar10 dataset def define_model(): # define model model = Sequential() model.add(Conv2D(32, (3, 3), activation='relu', padding='same', kernel_initializer='he_uniform', input_shape=(32, 32, 3))) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(MaxPooling2D((2, 2))) model.add(Conv2D(64, (3, 3), activation='relu', padding='same', kernel_initializer='he_uniform')) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(MaxPooling2D((2, 2))) model.add(Flatten()) model.add(Dense(128, activation='relu', kernel_initializer='he_uniform')) model.add(BatchNormalization()) model.add(Dense(10, activation='softmax')) # compile model model.compile(optimizer='adam', loss='categorical_crossentropy', metrics=['accuracy']) return model # make a prediction using test-time augmentation def tta_prediction(datagen, model, image, n_examples): # convert image into dataset samples = expand_dims(image, 0) # prepare iterator it = datagen.flow(samples, batch_size=n_examples) # make predictions for each augmented image yhats = model.predict_generator(it, steps=n_examples, verbose=0) # sum across predictions summed = numpy.sum(yhats, axis=0) # argmax across classes return argmax(summed) # evaluate a model on a dataset using test-time augmentation def tta_evaluate_model(model, testX, testY): # configure image data augmentation datagen = ImageDataGenerator(horizontal_flip=True) # define the number of augmented images to generate per test set image n_examples_per_image = 7 yhats = list() for i in range(len(testX)): # make augmented prediction yhat = tta_prediction(datagen, model, testX[i], n_examples_per_image) # store for evaluation yhats.append(yhat) # calculate accuracy testY_labels = argmax(testY, axis=1) acc = accuracy_score(testY_labels, yhats) return acc # fit and evaluate a defined model def evaluate_model(model, trainX, trainY, testX, testY): # fit model model.fit(trainX, trainY, epochs=3, batch_size=128, verbose=0) # evaluate model using tta acc = tta_evaluate_model(model, testX, testY) return acc # repeatedly evaluate model, return distribution of scores def repeated_evaluation(trainX, trainY, testX, testY, repeats=10): scores = list() for _ in range(repeats): # define model model = define_model() # fit and evaluate model accuracy = evaluate_model(model, trainX, trainY, testX, testY) # store score scores.append(accuracy) print('> %.3f' % accuracy) return scores # load dataset trainX, trainY, testX, testY = load_dataset() # evaluate model scores = repeated_evaluation(trainX, trainY, testX, testY) # summarize result print('Accuracy: %.3f (%.3f)' % (mean(scores), std(scores)))
Running the example may take some time given the repeated evaluation and the slower manual test-time augmentation used to evaluate each model.
In this case, we can see a modest lift in performance from about 68.6% on the test set without test-time augmentation to about 69.8% accuracy on the test set with test-time augmentation.
> 0.719 > 0.716 > 0.709 > 0.694 > 0.690 > 0.694 > 0.680 > 0.676 > 0.702 > 0.704 Accuracy: 0.698 (0.013)
How to Tune Test-Time Augmentation Configuration
Choosing the augmentation configurations that give the biggest lift in model performance can be challenging.
Not only are there many augmentation methods to choose from and configuration options for each, but the time to fit and evaluate a model on a single set of configuration options can take a long time, even if fit on a fast GPU.
Instead, I recommend fitting the model once and saving it to file. For example:
# save model model.save('model.h5')
Then load the model from a separate file and evaluate different test-time augmentation schemes on a small validation dataset or small subset of the test set.
For example:
... # load model model = load_model('model.h5') # evaluate model datagen = ImageDataGenerator(...) ...
Once you find a set of augmentation options that give the biggest lift, you can then evaluate the model on the whole test set or trial a repeated evaluation experiment as above.
Test-time augmentation configuration not only includes the options for the ImageDataGenerator, but also the number of images generated from which the average prediction will be made for each example in the test set.
I used this approach to choose the test-time augmentation in the previous section, discovering that seven examples worked better than three or five, and that random zooming and random shifts appeared to decrease model accuracy.
Remember, if you also use image data augmentation for the training dataset and that augmentation uses a type of pixel scaling that involves calculating statistics on the dataset (e.g. you call datagen.fit()), then those same statistics and pixel scaling techniques must also be used during test-time augmentation.

Vbucks Fortnite Free of charge Amusing eight Videos About Practical Hints That'll Make You Cry
Players, young kinds in any case, don’t feel to notice this sort of things. They’re immediately after assault rifles (preferably the Legendary SCAR), pump shotguns, bolt-action sniper rifles (the scope is actually a boon), chug jugs, slurp juices, bandages, medkits, and protect potions. They see, and covet, skins that seem awesome but don't have any bearing on recreation Enjoy; for twenty bucks, you can don the Leviathan or maybe the Raven. Or they fixate on dance moves, the so-named victory emotes you may have your avatar complete, in the warmth of battle or after a get rid of. The Floss, the Refreshing, the Squat Kick, the Wiggle—these have spilled out into the world. You could see folks about you, or professional athletes on Television set, breaking into strange dances. The one particular often known as Go ahead and take L is major nowadays within the Bundesliga and at Moment Maid Park.
Fortnite Gold
Loads of completed players search down their noses at Fortnite, the best way, Probably, that some jazz and blues diehards, in 1964, dismissed the Beatles. The dances, the alliterative put-names, the dearth of accurate postapocalyptic menace: these can point out a lack of seriousness that to some appears to be spell-breaking. A classmate of Gizzard Lizard’s, ZenoMachine, a gamer for for a longer period than seems plausible (he commenced taking part in Group Fortress two in kindergarten and now develops his own online games), is definitely the eighth quality’s resident Fortnite Scrooge. “To start with, I’m not a admirer in the polygons,” ZenoMachine explained to me. We ended up over a park bench, right after university—a uncommon strike of daylight. “It has a hi-res texture but minimal-res polygons.” Gizzard Lizard had warned me which i wouldn’t fully grasp ZenoMachine, but I collected that he was critiquing the game’s aesthetics. He appreciated a realer glimpse. He objected to specified inconsistencies. The pickaxe, by way of example, which players use to demolish partitions and properties, results in Practically no damage to other players to be a weapon. “How can that be?” he mentioned. “I see why quite a bit of people like Fortnite. It targets gamers who aren’t skilled. But it violates the legal guidelines of regularity.” He said that The very first time he performed he won—by hiding out until eventually Everybody else experienced practically been killed off. This is recognized as tenting, and it is frowned upon by normal players. “If one thing so simple as participant preference affects the other players’ knowledge, you’ve bought a layout flaw,” ZenoMachine reported.
ZenoMachine develops his individual games utilizing a platform known as the Unreal Motor. Fortnite, mainly because it occurs, is built within the Unreal Engine, also. The game could be the generation of a company termed Epic Video games, based mostly outside the house Raleigh, North Carolina. In 1998, Epic released a primary-individual shooter referred to as Unreal, which appreciated only average good results but which, Pretty much by accident, experienced an enduring affect about the evolution of online video video games. Epic made use of Unreal’s underlying architecture, and some of its sections, for making what came for being often called the Unreal Engine, a essential platform that supports all method of online games, be they shooters, brawlers, platformers, or sandbox R.P.G.s. It’s basically a suite of tools that developers can use to style and Construct game titles together with other simulations. Rather than ranging from scratch in, say, C++, the popular graphic-coding language, impartial builders and also other companies use the Unreal Engine to help make their particular video games. (The licensing of your motor, subsequently, presents Epic the cash circulation to dedicate time and assets to the development of hit video games like Fortnite.) Each year, Epic uses existing video games, many of them all but forgotten, to soup up the Unreal Engine, so that it could handle an at any time additional advanced array of demands. Fortnite was the main Unreal Engine 4 launch. Among the other matters, Epic needed to adapt the motor that can help its servers accommodate the huge volume of information that has to be processed instantaneously when 100 gamers are competing in just one Fight Royale spherical. The concern of which steps have an effect on Other folks, and from what distance, on this large storm-sieged island—the old if-then trouble—is a great deal more complicated than it would seem.
youtube
“Consider Fortnite as a visual kind of media,” Jamin Warren, the editor of your society-and-gaming journal Eliminate Screen, told me. No matter what Fortnite’s attract like a sport to Perform, Additionally it is apparently quite possibly the most beguiling a person to watch. As video clip-recreation spectatorship fills arenas, and siphons a technology away from actual athletics, Fortnite has become by far the most viewed recreation on YouTube—by March, there were Just about a few billion views with the an incredible number of periods that players had uploaded—and the top recreation on Twitch, the streaming platform. Looking at isn’t just for spazzes anymore. “It’s produced a kind of worldwide arcade,” Warren said. “Instead of a handful of Youngsters looking about the shoulder of the new-shot more mature brother or whatsoever, down in the shopping mall, you have got many people observing, and the individual taking part in the sport can be a millionaire.”
The medium’s breakout star is called Ninja. He is a previous Expert Halo player named Tyler Blevins, who may have claimed that he will make over 50 percent 1,000,000 pounds per month by streaming his Fortnite periods, and his totally free-associative commentary, on Twitch (that's owned by Amazon). His YouTube channel has more than ten million subscribers. Previous thirty day period, he how fortnite get popular hosted a Fortnite tournament in Las Vegas, within an e-sports arena, and almost seven hundred thousand individuals tuned in to his Twitch stream. I’ve heard numerous teens confer with him as America’s biggest entertainer—which isn't as hyperbolic since it Appears. In April, Ninja ranked increased than any athlete on the globe in “social interactions,” a evaluate of social-media likes, reviews, shares, and views. Cristiano Ronaldo was No. two. In March, Ninja consented to a Fortnite session with Drake.
Blevins, who is 20-six, comes from exterior Detroit and life around Chicago (he gained’t say exactly where) along with his spouse, who handles his company affairs. He streams 10 to fourteen hrs every day, typically from about nine A.M. to 3 P.M. after which from six P.M. right until Each time. All advised, he logs about three hundred hours a month. What one sees is his game screen, together with his avatar in regardless of what skin he has picked, and, within an inset, a perpetual shot of Blevins himself. A ninja headband girds a Bieber-ish shock of hair that he dyes different colors: emerald inexperienced, platinum, yellow. He’s a lean, boyish guy who appears to make an hard work to take care of some semblance of a smile all of the time. His spiel is goofy, caffeinated, and moderately cocky. He does impressions. In March, he was mumbling some rap lyrics as he performed, and by some means the phrase “indica” arrived out given that the N-term. Amid the backlash, he apologized, sort of, and, when it came time for me to talk to him final week, his manager’s a single situation was which i not ask him about this, as he’d presently said what there was to convey, which was, in part, “I guarantee that there was no mal intent (I wasn’t even seeking to say the term—I fumbled lyrics and received tongue-tied inside the worst achievable way).” A scrupulous journalist may have named from the job interview, although the teenagers I’d been speaking with regarding the video game were being so impressed that I might speak with Ninja that I caved. At the final moment, although, Ninja bailed, professing disease. Burn off! (“I’m quite sure which was BS,” one of those teens texted me. “I think he was streaming today.”) At any price, Ninja’s sensitivity is a sign that avid gamers like him are coming into the mainstream. They've got to observe the things they say.
Onscreen, the millionaire maintains the environs on the gamer boy. The digital camera requires in an acoustic-tile ceiling, wall-to-wall carpeting, bare drywall, as well as a fourposter mattress. There’s a framed Detroit Lions poster propped against a wall, together with a mini-fridge stocked with Crimson Bull. Ninja is really a lifelong gamer, but he helps make a point to remind his lovers, lest they receive the fall-every little thing bug, that he did effectively in class, performed soccer together with other sporting activities, completed college or university when holding down a task at Noodles & Firm, and even appeared, with his spouse and children, on “Loved ones Feud.” The sport ability is legit. He wins a little something like 50 percent of your many hundreds of game titles he plays just about every week, from all comers. He’s a crack shot and it has a nose to the substantial ground. As usually as not, It appears he’s barely being attentive. He’s studying followers’ messages out loud, just like a converse-radio host, or jabbering with One more Fortnite star, such as Dr. Lupo or KingRichard, whenever they’ve teamed up for the game or two: “The recoil on this detail is stupid”; “You said you experienced a complete protect, ass”; “So keep my dick”; “That dude was seeking to consume a chug jug. What a noob.” All accompanied by occasional bursts of gunfire. “To any individual observing the stream, I hope you men are taking pleasure in the content, guy.”
Gizzard Lizard’s shoot-out in Tomato Town came about on the last night of April, which was the last night of Season 3. Anticipation was managing significant. Among the ingenious innovations of Fortnite should be to introduce seasons of about two months, as on the cable-tv series, and also to combine new plot and sport factors. (Previous week, within a crossover masterstroke, Thanos, the indestructible villain of The brand new Avengers Motion picture, dropped in on the game—that is certainly, gamers could adopt a Thanos skin—and so, for some time, the Fortnite established gleefully schooled a variety of Thanoses in a means the Avengers could not.) On April 30th, a comet that had been hovering about the island was alleged to strike following midnight. For times, meteors had been showering the sport. Teasers—the newest currently being “brace for impression”—experienced impressed a raft of speculation and conspiracy theories. In the beginning, individuals envisioned the comet to hit the crowded city location known as Tilted Towers, but some clues led Other people to forecast, properly, which the comet would wipe out Dusty Depot, which was thereafter to get called Dusty Divot.
It had been tough to do homework on a night such as this; Gizzard Lizard returned to the game. He performed on the Computer system he’d crafted at college. It didn’t Have a very graphics card. He’d by no means been a giant gamer—his parents were being pretty stringent about screens and experienced never consented to an Xbox or even a Wii—however he’d performed Minecraft for quite a while. This standard of obsession was a little something new. He noticed on his locate-your-buddies bar that a lot of schoolmates were playing, so he FaceTimed one who goes by ism64. They teamed up and strike Lucky Landing. Gizzard Lizard wore an earbud underneath a list of earphones, so that he could talk with ism64 whilst listening for that seem of approaching enemies. From the distance, it appeared that he was speaking to himself: “Permit’s just Construct. Watch out, you’re gonna be trapped less than my ramp. I’m hitting this John Wick. Oh my God, he just pumped me. Arrive revive me. Construct all-around me and come revive me. Wait around, can I've that chug jug? Thanks.”
I’d been struck, observing Gizzard Lizard’s video games for a couple of days, by how the spirit of collaboration, amid the urgency of mission and menace, seemed to deliver out something approaching gentleness. He and his pals did favors for each other, viewed one another’s backs, presented encouragement. This was a thing that I hadn’t witnessed A lot of, say, down at the rink. 1 could argue that the previous arcade, With all the ever-current danger of bullying and harassment and the problem of proclaiming dibs, uncovered A child to the world—it’s character-building!—but there was a little something to get claimed for such a refuge, even if it did include assault rifles and grenades.
Then the John Wick was upon him. “Oh God! Oh God!” Foiled once more.
A John Wick was an achieved participant who had attained a pores and skin that bears a resemblance towards the character performed by Keanu Reeves inside the “John Wick” films. (Officially, the skin is known as the Reaper, presumably to stay away from licensing charges, but gamers simply call it John Wick.) It absolutely was available to anybody who had attained all hundred tiers of the sport in Time 3—a combination of accomplishment and experience which might have expected taking part in for among seventy-5 and 100 and fifty several hours.
As the final several hours of Year three expired, players scrambled to succeed in Tier a hundred, and have their John Wick skins. Gizzard Lizard was nowhere shut. He’d started the year for a noob. Arrive another morning, Day One among Period four, he had a intend to place while in the several hours for getting to Tier one hundred. It could get major commitment. For The 1st time, he bought a thousand Fortnite V-bucks, for $nine.ninety nine, with which to obtain skins. He went With all the Carbide, a modern one which introduced to head a wetsuit. This was The 1st time he—or, much more to The purpose, his moms and dads—had at any time invested anything but quarters over a match.

This is Israel is back after a few months of hiatus!  For those who might not be familiar with this blog segment, it is a space where I share with you what I have experienced during my past month in Israel. In addition to my normal travel blogs, I want to use this space to give you a glimpse of what my life in Israel is really like.
  Week 1
Coffee shop finds and cat conferences I remember during my first few months in Haifa, I was quite disappointed in the lack of cute or cozy coffee shops. However, as the months have gone by, I’ve become more accustomed to how to find my way around the city, and as a result have been able to explore more and find those coffee shops that I’m more than willing to spend hours in. Honestly the best feeling ever!
This week I managed to go to one close to my flat before starting work in the morning. I can’t describe how much a good coffee from a cute coffee shop can help lighten my mood if I’ve been having a tough week. AND ALSO CUTE LITTLE BAKED GOODS
As a side note, came across this conference of cats on my way to the coffee shop. There’s an old lady in my neighbourhood that enjoys feeding all of the cats, so she comes by with loads of cat food every morning. You know she’s outside because you can hear all the cats meowing in excitement for their morning meal.

Making a conscious decision towards better health
Okay, so I’ve realized that sitting at a desk for 8+ hours a day is not conducive to great physical health. That insight should have probably been obvious since the beginning, but I didn’t really become conscious of it until I was 1 year into my work and really began to gain weight and feel more tired and anxious than I normally would.
I came to the conclusion that in order to begin leading a better lifestyle, I should begin doing some sort of exercise – so I got out of my comfort zone and signed up for the gym! I’ve been starting off with two fitness classes per week, which are in Hebrew, but eyyy I’ll learn eventually! Although it hasn’t been long since I’ve begun, I can already feel my energy returning and I’m all for that!
Also, super side note, I didn’t realize how much fun it is to buy athletic wear. I think this might be a problem.
Geckos in the flat! I repeat. Geckos in the flat! I FOUND A GECKO (or three) in my flat! I honestly don’t have much to say about this other than I think they’re really cute and I’m more than happy for them to be in my flat (if they just don’t come on my bed plzthx) because they eat up all the insects!
Tumblr media
I had to help this guy find his way outside, so I put him in a container and gently left him outside my door.

Week 2
My new obsession Okay, so I may have started going to the gym, but I also started baking muffins sooo I think they cancel each other out? We’ll deal with that later.
Pinterest has become my source of muffin inspiration, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I didn’t realize how much fun baking would be! And how much more fun it would be to eat my creations ahaha woooops

Israeli lunches and flower shop adventures Yes, hummus is good. But have you ever tried Labaneh with Zatar?!?!! Bless the Israelis for having some crazy delicious foods. And to have it with a side of bread and veggies? Yes please!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset
Also, can we please take a moment to get excited over the flowers that I got right after lunch? Problem was, they wilted in a week’s time because of how hot the weather is, but here’s to hoping that once the weather starts to cool down (maybe in a hundred years?), then my flowers will last longer.
Nespresso magic
I.
GOT.
A.
NESPRESSO.
MACHINE.
That is all.
… no, but actually, it has made my mornings so much more exciting. So many coffees to choose from in such little time. YES PLEASE.
* * *
Week 3
Hamster HAMSTER HaMsTeR For those of you who know me, you know that I can even tear up when I look at cute animal videos. So please imagine my utter excitement when I got to play with a hamster this week. I think I reverted back to my 6 year-old self.
Tel Aviv adventures Sometimes, I really need to get out of Haifa – and this was one of those weeks. I just needed to have a little adventure, and that’s definitely what I got with a mini half-day trip to Tel Aviv.
Of course I had to stop by Sarona Market (aka. the best place ever), and had to buy tons of goods that I couldn’t get my hands on in Haifa (like onigiri!!!).
Tumblr media
Wolf spider Imagine being scared of spiders (for some, you may not have to imagine this because, like me, it is your reality). Now, one evening, after a long day of work, you come home and begin making food for yourself in the kitchen. You then make your way to grab something out of your cupboard BUT YOU CANNOT DO THAT BECAUSE THERE IS A GIGANTIC SPIDER OF HUGE PROPORTIONS WAITING TO FEAST ON YOUR SOUL.
Honestly, look up “wolf spider” on google. Look at the image with the biggest one. That’s the one that was in my flat. The biggest. The soul-sucking one.
  * * *
Week 4
Art nights Over the months, I’ve realized that I need more balance in my life – so I’ve began doing art. I’m not good at it, but I do enjoy it, and it definitely helps me with relaxing! So as often as I can, I look up ideas on Pinterest, whip out my water colour paper, take out some water colours, pens, and markers, and begin to doodle away.
Tumblr media
My plan is to put up some of my creations in the flat, so I’ve gotten them frames, but still need to find a way to put them up (because I’m not allowed to make holes in the wall). Hopefully a store will have some kind of sticky tape that’ll help me get the job done!
Tel Aviv Museum of Art I had the most spontaneous trip to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art! I didn’t even know it existed until someone called me and said “let’s go to the museum tomorrow”. The museum itself is around an hour away from where I live, so it is quite easy to get to by car. Unfortunately, since I don’t have a car, it is near impossible for me to get there on my own, because there is no transit running on weekends in Israel. So unless I want to get there on foot (no thank you, google maps tells me it would take 19 hours and 31 minutes), there’s really no way to get there.
So grateful for someone to have taken me and let me join them on this adventure! I’ll definitely be posting a full blog post about this place, so I won’t give anything away about it right now!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
13 months down, 17 more to go!
xx
This is Israel (Ep. 9 – August 2018) This is Israel is back after a few months of hiatus!  For those who might not be familiar with this blog segment, it is a space where I share with you what I have experienced during my past month in Israel.

Canvas Bags - Do Your Portion For the Surroundings
The influences of worldwide warming mcm t shirts are now being felt in all places within the North Pole to Australia the speed of alter is alarming scientists. The problem is simply likely to obtain even worse with acquiring countries like China and India set to produce far more mcm backpack mini and even more CO2 gases. Surprisingly every one of us can do our very little part in preserving the atmosphere simply by switching a handful of of our behavior. By generating the switch from plastic and paper bags to canvas baggage we can easily all save a lot of trees from getting reduce down yearly. Plastic buying bags are only as even worse they're designed out of a byproduct of petroleum and that is utilized in a great number of of our products we use right now. The challenge with petroleum dependent merchandise is that when it is converted into products and solutions like plastic bags and containers they never break-down leaving behind a large number within our landfills and waterways. If we're serious about conserving our forests from deforestation and conserving the planet we've got for making the swap from paper luggage to canvas baggage. Canvas bags certainly are a good alternate for the common searching bag since the data relating to the consumption of purchasing luggage is staggering. Every year American's on common use about ten billion paper grocery baggage which equates to all around fourteen million trees which might be reduce down. The number of plastic baggage we use each year is even better as most shops give us a plastic bag to the smallest of purchases. The nice thing about canvas baggage is the fact they are additional long lasting compared to plastic buying bag. You can in good shape much more groceries into a canvas bag instead of a plastic bag which you'll want to double bag for heavier items. Several men and women such as myself constantly considered using paper was superior than plastic luggage but paper in some methods is even even worse than plastic. From an vitality point of view the typical canvas luggage employs fourteen moments fewer electrical power than plastic bags and 39 times much less electrical power than paper luggage these figures are based on the canvas bag building five hundred outings. 5 hundred visits would be a modest figure mainly because the average existence span of canvas baggage is all around a year and 50 percent. Plastic and paper mcm totes bags are able to be recycled but the energy expenses are really substantial. It's going to take loads of precious power to show these products and solutions into other reusable products and solutions. At the end of the working day canvas luggage are a smarter greener preference and we should always all be employing them. James has lately moved to Ny and he loves the town. He's a strong supporter of all matters regarding the safety of your natural environment. He needs New Yorker's made use of much less plastic and paper buying baggage and even more canvas luggage. He recommends the entire array of merchandise at R.A.G. like their eco friendly choice of canvas luggage which happen to be a basically way to go environmentally friendly. Tremendous Buying Recommendations: The best Golfing Club Bag For you A golf club bag along will probably not enhance your golf match by alone. On the other hand if will certainly boost your pleasure on the recreation. So getting the correct golf club bag generally is a extremely essential determination that ought to be designed carefully. You will find a wide variety of baggage and distinctive price ranges ranges and as a customer seeking to invest in it can be very easy to grow to be overwhelmed. Certainly the employees at a golfing retail store is much more enthusiastic about making a sale and probable fee then encouraging you discover the very best golfing bag. So go away quite a few people caught and with really very little facts that can help them obtain an ideal bag. This information will assist you to slim down and buy the right bag to suit your needs. This can be determined by your playing style and spending plan. The three Sorts of Luggage You'll find three most important types of golfing baggage and each a person incorporates a various objective. Read about every one careful mainly because it will let you make your mind up what to purchase. Employees Golf Club Baggage These are typically the biggest varieties of baggage and one particular with every one of the bells and whistles. They are also the heaviest golfing bag outside of the team. These are definitely the Cadillac of golf baggage. They have got pockets for anything you'll be able to think of plus another pocket just just in case. These baggage are supposed to be carried by a caddy. So ordinarily dimensions and body weight will not be a concern while you won't be struggling to carry this dimensions of bag you may have a very caddy do that for you. So in that situation somebody wanting to acquire this sort of bag need to go all out and buy just as much because they can pay for. Getting the additional bells and whistles can offer some added ease and comfort around the class. Cart Golf Club Luggage The second class of golf bags are Cart bags. They are more compact those previously mentioned but nonetheless even bigger then whatever you need to stick with it a training course. These luggage are created for placing to the bag of a golfing cart. They are really however substantial and have more then enough room for all your requires. Nevertheless, they're built a little smaller to help you easily pull the bag in and out in the golfing cart and simply stroll limited distances while using the bag as required. Carry michael kors jewelry Golfing Bags The golf luggage during this category really are a good mcm handbags sale offer scaled-down then the two previously mentioned. These are typically ordinarily produced of nylon, plastic or other cheap supplies. They're paired down and do not have as a lot of pockets or further spaces to carry every thing. Even so, these baggage are intended to be carried through the golfer him/herself. There may be enough space for that necessities just like a handful of balls and the necessary clubs but almost nothing more. These are typically an awesome decision for that golfer that likes to hold their very own bag. Your Normal Golfing Model So in creating a decision about what golf bag to get it genuinely comes down to your personal golfing style and the way you prefer to engage in. Should you are an amature golfer that plays ina wide range of tournaments and always takes advantage of a caddy to carry the bclubs then your requirements will be very distinctive then the recreational participant that wish to be self contained and possibly enjoying a more compact class. So take into consideration your own personal golfing design and style and also the typical golfing programs you enjoy. You'll be able to order a bag that fits your preferences. Consider Regarding the Minimal Items Very last but certainly not minimum a person has got to think ahead in regards to the characteristics they'd use typically. As an example if you would like to use a stand so it truly is easier to have your golf equipment out and in on the bag then by all implies ensure you discover a bag which has a stand. Within the very same take note should you generally use an umbrella or other add-ons then be certain you are trying out the bag you are interested in and consider about exactly where you could possibly put the factors you use frequently. Should you really mcm shop don't choose to have a great deal more dn choose only the fundamental gear wanted then get a little something trim and cut out the extras. It can be essential to seriously assess everything you use and whatever you never use.

OWC supercharges capacity for MacBook Air, Mac Pro, and venture Other World Computing declared a few new stockpiling items amid this year'.
Long-time Mac fringe and extra creator Other World Computing made various new item declarations all through the most recent week at CES. Ars addressed organization delegates on the show floor around a few new items, including SSDs for the MacBook Air, another undertaking class 2.5" SSD drive, and new venture stockpiling items utilizing smaller than expected SAS (Serial Attached SCSI).
We were likewise ready to sneak a look at an unannounced PCI Express-based secluded SSD for Mac Pros (and in addition Windows PCs), and a gander at refreshed Newer Technology miniStacks intended for the most recent Mac smaller than usual models.
Smaller than expected and maxi SSDs
Adding to OWC's line of substitution MacBook Air SSD modules, the organization has reported a 480GB form of its Aura Pro Express 6G SSD module for the 2011 MacBook Air. The most up to date MacBook Air models bolster SATA accelerates to 6Gbps, however the drives Apple dispatches just work at 3Gbps. OWC as of late presented 120GB and 240GB 6G SSD modules for these more up to date Air models, however we were demonstrated another 480GB form at CES.
The 480GB Aura Pro Express SSD presents to 3x the information throughput of stock Apple drives, and also 8x the limit of the stock 64GB drive. The 480GB 6G modules ought to be accessible in late January (OWC's site at present demonstrates a five-day lead time), however the speed and storage room will cost you: get ready to fork over $1,149. Then again, you can't get a MacBook Air SSD with that speed or limit at any cost from Apple or any other individual.
Gratefully, you'll now have the capacity to repurpose the littler stock SSD module you haul out of your MacBook Air utilizing OWC's Mecury Aura Envoy fenced in area. The all-aluminum walled in area is decreased and completed like a MacBook Air, and the preproduction test we dealt with was light and thin. To re-utilize a plant SSD, slide it into the Envoy, shut it down with two screws, and attach it to your MacBook Air by means of USB. The Envoy bolsters UBS 3.0, so when Apple updates to the quicker standard (likely with the dispatch of Ivy Bridge Macs) you'll get information speeds as high as 500MB/s.
The Mercury Aura Envoy is set to dispatch in late March for $50. On the off chance that that is too long to hold up, in any case, OWC is currently transporting renditions of its Mercury On-The-Go USB 3.0 nook and Mecury Elite Pro FW/USB/eSATA fenced in area that are good with MacBook Air SSD modules for $70 and $110, separately.
OWC is likewise propelling an endeavor class rendition of its Mercury SSDs named Mercury Enterprise Pro 6G. These SSDs utilize the most recent SandForce controllers, as do OWC's other strong state stockpiling. The fundamental contrasts are the utilization of Toshiba endeavor class flip synchronous 10K NAND chips, which offer 3x the unwavering quality contrasted with standard MLC NAND; Paratus Power Technology, which utilizes a little battery reinforcement that empowers lined information writes to complete on account of energy misfortune; and a seven-year guarantee, which OWC promoting chief Grant Dahlke cases is the longest in the business. Basically, OWC is stating this is as "mission basic" as 2.5" SSDs come.
The Mercury Enterprise Pro 6G line begins at $629 for 50GB and goes up to 400GB for $2,199, and the drives will send before the finish of March.
PCI model
Staying with SSDs for a moment, OWC had on the show floor a model of an unannounced PCI Express-based SSD drive. The card is worked around a Marvell-based equipment RAID controller associated with four smaller than usual PCI Express spaces. The spaces can be loaded with NAND streak modules comparable (however not indistinguishable) to those utilized as a part of the MacBook Air. The spaces can be loaded with in the vicinity of one and four modules as required, up to 2TB worth. As indicated by OWC CEO Larry O'Connor, the drive is prepared to do about 2GB/s supported exchange rates.
The anonymous SSD is good with both Macs and Windows PCs and, as indicated by O'Connor, will be the principal PCI Express SSD answer for Mac Pro clients. Valuing and accessibility have not been resolved—the card on the CES indicate floor is one of the main collected models—yet O'Connor revealed to Ars it will in all likelihood dispatch around the second 50% of the year.Moving on to more venture class stockpiling choices, OWC is propelling another Jupiter line of smaller than usual SAS stockpiling choices. The Line will comprise of 8-and 16-narrows rack nooks and in addition 4-and 8-inlet desktop tower fenced in areas. These can be stuffed with SAS or SATA drives and designed in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and JBOD courses of action. Jupiter associates by means of small scale SAS in a solitary or twofold wide link design for information throughput rates from 24-48Gbps.
Item improvement expert Chris Haeffner clarified that the Jupiter drive walled in areas can associate straightforwardly to a Mac Pro utilizing a small scale SAS PCI Express card. Notwithstanding, the drives can likewise be associated with an up and coming 9-port center point to make a capacity region arrange (SAN). Adequately any blend of Jupiter RAIDs and Macs can be associated, so you could have two RAIDs imparted to up to seven Macs, or only one Mac associated with huge measures of capacity in up to eight Jupiter boxes.
Haeffner additionally said Jupiter-based SANs can likewise be extended further utilizing little SAS changes from big business stockpiling merchant LSI. While LSI concentrates on expansive undertaking arrangements, OWC trusts Jupiter will address the necessities of SMBs that have developing rapid as well as high-limit stockpiling requests.
Keeping that in mind, OWC will soon offer a Thunderbolt to smaller than usual SAS connector, permitting iMacs, Mac minis, MacBook Pros, and even MacBook Airs to work with Jupiter stockpiling in either immediate or SAN associations.
Additionally, Jupiter offers critical cost-to-execution benefits over contending arrangements, for example, Fiber Channel. At 24Gbps throughput, a Jupiter smaller than normal SAS setup offers 3x the execution of 8Gbps Fiber Channel. In the meantime, however, it can cost up to 5x less for the framework. For instance, four workstations with PCI cards, a 9-port center point, and 10 meters each of dynamic cabling costs around $5,000. A similar setup in Fiber Channel would keep running about $25,000, as indicated by Haeffner.
Macintosh smaller than expected to the maximum
At long last, OWC will offer some valuable new stockpiling alternatives for Mac smaller than usual clients under its NewerTechnology image. The organization has broken its miniStack stockpiling add-on for Mac minis into two separate offerings. The first is a thin miniStack that is measured to coordinate the most recent unibody Mac minis. It highlights FireWire 800, USB 3.0, and eSATA ports, and a solitary 3.5" hard plate drive stockpiling choice up to 4TB. As its name infers, you can stack your Mac smaller than expected on top, associate utilizing FireWire or USB, and you have moment stockpiling expansion. The new miniStack Max, be that as it may, kicks the fundamental miniStack idea into overdrive. This form includes an optical drive—at present a DVD/CD-R SuperDrive, however Blu-beam will be an alternative soon, a front-confronting SD card peruser, and a three-port USB 3.0 center on the back. We think the miniStack Max—particularly with a Blu-beam perfect optical drive—would make a better than average fit for a Mac small scale based HTPC set up.
A couple intriguing components we noted from our discussion with Dahlke is that one of the USB ports on the back of the miniStack Max can yield an entire 10W to completely energize an iPad. Additionally, both new miniStacks incorporate USB 3.0 and eSATA ports for future-sealing—as we stated, Ivy Bridge-based Macs will probably bolster USB 3.0—and wide similarity with PCs. Despite the fact that the styling and size are intended to coordinate the Mac smaller than expected, a miniStack would be a decent supplement to SFF Windows or Linux boxes. Likewise, Dalke told Ars, we can expect Thunderbolt forms when OWC and NewerTech can get its hands on controllers in volume. Both new miniStacks ought to be accessible toward the finish of March with valuing to be resolved. Clients will have the capacity to purchase purge walled in areas and include their own SATA drive, or request one with 500GB to 4TB preinstalled.
