Today, I'm focusing my research on the Thai art style about Thai painting and Thai pattern before I started writing my story. 🔎

"Peebadhu" is a Thai artist who mixes Thai art style with movies or films that he likes into artworks. I chose "Peebadhu" as my inspiration because I like the idea of mixing Thai-style art and things that he likes, as it still shows your interest but adapted in the Thai-style art. I like the idea of it, but personally, I will not fully use Thai art style like him because it consumes a lot of time to do in each piece, so it will be more adapted to my art style.

In the classroom today. I've researched Thai patterns and to have a deeper comprehension of their meanings and the concepts that serve as the basis for their painting styles. To get a better idea of what is intended one by one, I have also drawn a little to be more understanding. ✍️

CTS-B | Week01 Creative Practice and Critical Thinking

Fact-based material elucidating statistics and figures is presented critically. Typically, it releases data with little to no reprocessing in its original format as a percentage or figure. The data may be presented as pure fact, free from embellishment or distortion, even if this information does not make the data clear.

Conversely, the information obtained through creative means offers re-edited data instead of numbers and statistics. Refined information works well for presenting the data in an understandable and visually appealing way, reaching a broad audience, and piqueing people's curiosity. Instead of just presenting data or facts, we frequently employ techniques to reprocess data and visually represent data and results, which makes them clearer and simpler to comprehend.

For example, we could recognize the significance of reconstructing data while providing imaginative explanations of the same content, such as explaining Seoul's overcrowding in comparison to other cities. Visually comparing Seoul with Los Angeles and Rome makes more sense than relying solely on statistics.

Perhaps people are wondering why innovative ways of disseminating information are so important. Re-edited data offers a simpler method of communication. We discovered that comparing Seoul and Los Angeles' population densities through visuals is more intuitive than through numerical comparisons. Properly refined data can ease the recipient's pressure to comprehend every detail. Schematization of information would be very beneficial in today's fast-paced communication environment.

I drew some portraits of The Bear’s casts to find good shapes that characterize each person.

By the way, this TV show made me motivated to try something I’m stuck with…!

I like to walk through a shopping arcade and look around its construction.

So, I sketched my favorite Japanese arcades to find the similarities.

📝Day 03📝

I watched some videos of wild animals by National Geographic and tried to sketch their shapes and lines that emphasize each specie.

📝Day 04📝

It was very difficult for me to think of shaping some elements, but I think that this was a good practice to come up with a simple idea.

Plus, I redesigned my OCs’ face in circle, triangle and square to relate to their personalities. I hope they will be very human more than the old designs…

it’s   been   five   days   since   he   left   home.   katie   made    friends   almost    immediately,   and   of   course,    he   was   happy   for   her.   she   had   trouble   back   home,   where   every   move   she   made   was   scrutinized.    here,    he   was   having   more   trouble   getting   comfortable.    familiar    feelings   were    back,    the    comfort    of   every   action   you  take   being   the   wrong  one.  it   was   a   constant   uphill   battle,   especially   when   even   taking   his    medicine   in   front   of    his   bunk-mate   made   him   irrationally   nervous.   however,    his  biggest   challenge  lies   in   front   of    him    now.    about     seven    children,    a    tangled   volleyball   net,    and    from   what   he    could   see    at   this   moment,    no    other   adults   around.

[Week 01 - Tech Thoughts]

Technopreneuship: Result-Driven Assessments

The first week of classes for technopreneurship went great. The instructors for the course conducted a live discussion for students to understand and be enlightened of where we were heading for the course period. They guided us on what we should do to get through the activities. While listening to the discussion, I was enlightened by how great this course would be. Sure enough, it piqued my interest, although it seemed pretty challenging to me. Among the things they made us do are the following:

Berkeley Innovation Index Test

Myers Briggs Type Indicator

In context, the Berkeley Innovation Index (BII) is a tool that helps people figure out how good they are at coming up with new ideas. Based on the answers to a survey about domain abilities, which are sub-traits that are thought to be necessary for innovation, the index comes up with a score. I took the test for this assessment, and the result came out pretty great. According to the evaluation, my personal innovation mindset level is currently at 89.04 out of 100 - which is already a great number, I guess. I got the highest scores on trust, resilience, diversity, belief, allocation, and comfort zone ranging from 91.67-100. With this test, I realized my strengths and weaknesses regarding the innovation mindset. It allowed me to spot the areas where I could improve myself and assess the relevance of each of the parts of the analysis and recommendations generated by the system.

Myers Briggs Type Indicator, on the other hand, is a self-help assessment test that helps people learn more about how they work and learn. It is a way to build relationships, become more positive, and achieve excellence. It drove me to a more personal level of connection with myself. The assessment is straightforward, and it made me think through my choices and how each situation affects me. For the result, I figured out I am a Protagonist - ENFJ-A. 

Basically, it means that my strengths rely more on the extraverted, intuitive, feeling, judging, and assertive side. It also allows one to explore their personality type, which I think is excellent because it enables us to understand our better capabilities and where we can match ourselves in various aspects and areas of our lives such as relationships, workplace habits, career, parenthood, friendships, and romantic relationships. This test is a great way to really take hold of ourselves and realize the potentials we have in us. It helps us determine the types of personalities we have and how we can utilize them to create great relationships with the people around us, use them to make and mark a positive change, and achieve excellence not just for ourselves but also for the betterment of everyone.

Overall, these activities are significant to assess ourselves as individuals and help us achieve a better insight into how we can utilize our strengths and weaknesses to improve and unleash our potential and achieve our goals in the best way that we can.

Early this week, we were tasked to select an adjective as a starting point to frame our project. I was immediately drawn to the word “Surreal” and decided to dig deeper into this topic. The dictionary defines the word as bizarre; fantastic; dreamlike and has elements combined in a strange way that would not normally expect. A characteristic of surrealism.

What is a Digital Product

Do you remember the days when buying a product meant actually buying a physical object? Like a book or a pair of shoes? Well today you can make money by selling digital products online, meaning products that’s you can’t physically have. 

A digital product can be anything from e-books and courses to stock photos and digital templates. What is so tempting about creating and selling a digital product is that you can basically start from scratch, possibly without a budget. You don’t need to worry about your inventory ever running low or assembly costs and your clients can get your product straight after purchase. 

This brings me to the introduction of the creative entrepreneurship module, where I’ll create my very own digital product. Right now I’m thinking about a website or app, maybe a newsletter or icon set. Something I can share online with someone that might find it useful. 

In order for my digital product to succeed, I need to keep the Shaker Philosophy in mind:

- “Don’t make something unless it is both necessary and useful; but if it is both necessary and useful, don’t hesitate to make it beautiful” 

And that’s my thought biscuit for the day! (wait, is that an actual idea for a digital product? Thought biscuits?)

Case Study: Deepwater Horizon Disaster - study reflective

In first week tutorial, we discuss about deepwater horizon disaster happen on 20 April 2010 which is the deepest deep-sea oil-well ever drilled experienced a massive catastrophe.

We discuss about the main lessons should be learned from this disaster and produce a shortlist of recommendations for actions to be taken to prevent future disaster and we state and justify our top recommendations also ordering them with proper justifications.

In order to give a proper suggestions, we first need to know what's the reason cause this disaster happen, and how this happen, at which situation, also how the staffs handle this in the first. And from the facts we see, try to find a way to make an improve.

The deepwater horizons blowout preventer (BOP) failed to seal the well during the emergency. BOP is designed to prevent flammable oil and gas from traveling up the riser to the drilling rig. Crew can manually close pipe Rams and donut shaped rubber devices known as annular preventers if those devices should fail to work the last resort is a pair of sharp metal blades which form a blind shear Ram designed to cut the drill pipe and seal the well, this can be activated manually or by automated emergency systems.

At approximately April 20th, 8:45pm, a kick occurred in the Macondo well oil and gas entered the well bore undetected, eventually passing above the blowout preventer and up the riser toward the Deepwater Horizon. 9:40pm, crew members responded by closing the upper annular preventer in the BOP however this didn't seal the well as intended. Eventually crew closed a pipe Ram this successfully closed the seal the well but this just a temporary fix.

Now, we get more familiar with why this happen and how the crew reacted to this disaster. First, we can see that they didn’t detect that gas entered the well in time, why? We think one reason is that they were busy at celebrating and didn’t pay attention, or something went wrong to the equipment. 

So It’s important that

have regular checkup, maintenance if the mechanism equipment make sure every thing running properly.

have a suitable strategy plan before hand and make sure everyone knows the plan

Week 1: Security Everywhere - IoT Devices

IoT devices are everywhere and quite involved in our homes and workplaces; Google Home, Chromecast and wifi enabled lightbulbs for example, are used myself. Sure, they are smart and useful, but how secure are they?

With these devices, they are easily set up using wifi and in an enterprise setting if they are attacked, crucial business information will be vulnerable. 

From a report by Zscaler, a network security firm, they were able to collect telemetry data with over 56 million IoT device transactions from 1051 networks over one month, where one of the most concerning finds was that 91.5% of the data were unencrypted (Constantin 2019).

Surely with the rapid growth of IoT devices, there can be changes to its security. An interesting thought is, if an attacker was able to access a device that is connected to an organisation’s network then they would easily be able to connect to many of the IoT devices on the network.

Week01 #Day02 Task 2: Researches part 01

My main interest from this project is "Kinnari” the creature in the fairytale of Thai culture from Thai Tales named "Phra Suthon Manora." Kinnari are creatures that look similar to humans but have wings and tail. However, Kinnari can remove their own wings and tail by themselves.

Phra Suthon Manora Thai Tales (พระสุธน มโนราห์):

Phra Suthon Manora(พระสุธน มโนราห์) is a story about a Kinnari named Manora (มโนราห์), the youngest daughter of the king in the peaceful city of Kinnaris, Manora, whose wings were stolen, and she got kidnapped by Hunter because he wanted to give this beautiful Kinnari to the king (another city that is led by humans or a human city).

After the time passed, they arrived in the human city. Before they meet the king, the prince of this city, named Phra Suthon (พระสุธน), gets interested, and there is a strong connection between Phra Suthon and Manora, like they are in love at first sight of each other.

The prince told his father that he wants to marry Manora. The King thinks Manora is beautiful, has good manners, and both are really in love with each other. So the king allowed them to get married. Time again passes by, and Phra Suthon has to go war for their city and has to leave Manora in the city alone. Before he leaves, he says, “Please wait for me, my love. I will come as soon as possible” between the time when the prince has gone fighting for his people.

Inside the city, misfortune events happen. One night, the king had a nightmare. The king asks the priest to predict and explain about the dream that he just had, but this priest had offered his daughter to marry Phra Suthon. But the prince chose Manora. So the priest thought of taking revenge on Manora. He lied to the king about the nightmare. He said, “The country will suffer a major disaster. There will be no rain, no water, nothing will grow, the people will starve, and the prince will die from this war. However, to prevent nightmares, you need to burn Manora with the fire.” The king hesitated but agreed.

The ritual began. Manora tricks the hunter to give back her wings and run away to her hometown. She left her ring with the yogi to tell Phra Suthon that she is still alive.

Phra Suthon came back from war with triumph and found that Manora had already run away. He punished the priest and went to find Manora. He found the Kinnari, which are Manora's sisters, so he followed them back to Kinnari town.

Finally, he found Manora, but her father wants to test Phra Suthon's love to prove that he really loves Manora. Phra Suthon has passed the test, and they live peacefully together forever.

I will create a short fiction about Kinnari that uses inspiration from Phra Suthon Manora Thai Tales. Important note that it will not be the same story as the original because this is going to be fiction, but it'll be totally different because I want to adapt Kinnari to my own personal experience because I am bisexual and add the fastany theme to it. sound fun.🐦🥀 I still need to read bit more and have a better understanding about, Thai painting style, The Artist name Peebadhu and LGBT+ in my culture.

General The concept of this project started with the idea of combining abstract shapes, their locations, and their movements to visualize data. The mood-boards showcased various visualizations as well as bits of abstract illustrative and motion pieces that can help direct my model. In addition to the data visualization, the application will be typographic based which will help to solidify the abstractness of the app and differ from other applications in the market.

Week01-5 frustrating UX examples

1. Too many download buttons.

When I was downloading an application from a non-local provider, the download page popped up. This overload of ads and buttons made me confused and assumed that my computer would get viruses.

2. Assistive touch 

The only function of this thing is to muting. Other functions are busy and it requires several steps to turn off.

3. Shein

This page has so many texts and colors that looks particularly noisy.

4. Spotify

The video and lyrics are separate. Why don't they make the lyrics float on the video？I sometimes need to glance at the video and miss the lyrics.

5. Baidu wangpan

This is a cloud storage where I store my photos. But there are more and more ads with various icons, which makes the whole page cluttered and disorganized. Luckily, this one will automatically upload photos when you open it, otherwise I wouldn't be able to find the upload button.

I'm back! I can now draw with my right hand again! It feels so good to draw with it after these last couple of months. In case you didn't know I injured the Ulnar nerve in my right arm at the end of last year. This year I've decided not to do the regular Inktober this October. I think it's too much for me at that time of year and I keep hurting myself, so I'm going to just give it a rest this year I think. Instead, I'm going to do Inktober 52! Which is only one prompt word a week for the whole year, a lot more relaxed and easier for me. It started a week late for some reason this year, but here is Week 1: "Wild". I drew a wild monster strutting out in the wild. Every new prompt word is released on Thursdays US time (which is Friday for me here in Australia) so I'll post them when I'm done during the week. I'm still taking it easy and trying not to draw too much at once as I'm afraid I'll hurt myself again.
