Last night I had a dream about a doctor who episode which in the dream I was experiencing like I was there, but was aware that I had reconstructed it from Tumblr GIFs I'd seen. But when I woke up I realised those GIFs were nonexistent and I'd invented the whole thing.

It was a Capaldi and Clara era episode. It was set in this barren landscape but filled with skyscrapers, impossibly large, each full of people. The sun didn't rise here, but the stars were quite pretty. For reasons laid out in a previous episode I hadn't seen GIFs of, one must be destroyed, possibly because it had something dangerous in it. We befriended this bomber guy who could fly up and look into the skyscrapers (expecting them to be open circular situations) to see which had people in them - but alas, the buildings had opaque lids.

The doctor was acting Weird. Making off colour jokes and starting to move unnaturally fast, full of an angry energy. The bomber seemed to know this, confronted him alone, and the doctor stabbed him. Dying, the bomber wrote out a message in blood, that that was not the doctor but an imposter who would blow up the wrong tower.

Clara was starting to work this out alone anyway, but seeing the message (not quite understanding it at first, was a bit cryptic) she got it. It culminated in the doctor playing a violin, faster and faster, his arms getting longer as he went. Can't remember exactly how that resolved itself but Clara broke free of him while he was doing that, got the right building, and discovered that it couldn't and shouldn't be destroyed because the doctor was trapped inside. Got him out, he killed the imposter, all okay.

Walking through the city after that, they noticed that the first signs of dawn were approaching. The planet wasn't Trapped in darkness, but just rotating very, very slowly. Clara turned to the Doctor and said "That's terrible, a night that lasts a thousand years," and got the response, "Yes. But their dawn will be glorious"

This is very random, but a year ago I was re-reading DB, and then I went to see a production of Oliver!… and then my mother adopted a couple of kittens, and one of them wound up being named Oliver. He and his brother were (more than likely) never in as dire straits as the Oliver in your stories before RBB rescued him, but your character was certainly an inspiration for my mom’s cat’s name.

Oliver is pleased to lend his name to your kitty. =^_^=
