The way Vox was waving and looking at Charlie all sleazy. Lol Ppl were saying he was looking at Vaggie, but if you pay close attention, he's looking at Charlie all sleazy before redirecting his gaze at Vaggie with a disgruntled eyebrow raise like "Why are you here? I'm having a moment with the princess." lol

My questions are do you think that they're hinting that this is the dynamic Vox and Charlie are going to have in S2? Also, what do you think of Alastor and Vaggie teaming up against Vox? 🤝 Jealous deer kicking Vox out for flirting with HIS princess and telling him to get his own princess? Alastor going into a rage when Vox casually mentions Valentino got to "taste" Charlie? Omg I need jealous, protective, possessive Alastor right meow!

I do hope that the announcement vid was a hint at Charlie and Vox having some kind of dynamic in season 2! I want Vox’s plotline to involve more than just Alastor. 🙏 If he’s the main villain of the season, then Charlie as the main character should have conflict with him too!

I wonder if Vaggie and Alastor’s deal for him to hep with the hotel commercial in exchange for never being asked to help with tv technology again is going to play a role here. If Vox is creeping around the hotel and Charlie, I could see Vaggie being concerned and reluctantly going to Alastor for help. He blows her off, citing their deal, but really he’s too preoccupied with his dwindling powers.

Then something happens to Charlie and that snaps Alastor out of his self-pity spiral and spurs him into action. I’d really love to see him get super protective of Charlie and basically tell Vox to back off and find his own princess to corrupt. On the surface, it’s Alastor getting mad at Vox for encroaching on his schemes with Charlie, but there’s an underlying sense of care for her too.

One fanfic had Angel referring to Charlie and Alastor as the mom and dad of the hotel and I have been constantly thinking about it since

(previous anon - hi!) aaand you certainly never disappoint (not that you legit could've, but). yep, that's the exact ship i had in mind😈. for someone who's normally so touch-averse, he himself is certainly very touchy with Charlie, isn't he👀 (yeah yeah control, but there's a bit more to it than that).

i think the main appeal of this ship is its complexity and almost unlimited potential? they're extremely powerful, charming characters with similar interests (dancing, singing, dumb, dorky puns) who act as foils but who also genuinely enjoy each other's company and have fun together -hidden agendas aside. you want some power couple goodness? done! cutesy, wholesome, endearing fluff? ta-da! dark, angsty, sexy mind games? comin right up! on that note - the fandom (esp on twitter) is so crazy talented and productive -despite the gross hate it gets- that you have so many different options when it comes to Alastor's sexuality and the type of space it would hold if he were romantically involved with Charlie. i'm on that same spectrum too, and knowing (from my experience, combined with what i've read from other ace ppl) that those who are asexual/aro can also experience sexual and romantic attraction (just way less often), made it ok for me. i can only speak for myself, ofc, but yeah. and so there are so many fics etc that respectfully explore what effect those new sorts of feelings and intimacy would have on Alastor's self-image and dynamic with Charlie. You can find super well written interpretations of him as either sex-repulsed or sex-positive (there's a reason 'Deer Virgin' and 'Charliesexual' are some of the most popular tags around here, lol) all that to say if you do ever find yourself curious or peckish, i gotchu! couldn't recommend 'penance' by kinkydents enough (something tells me it'd definitely be your speed👌). on the lighter end of the spectrum, 'under my skin' by whamgram is also exceptionally good food (and so funny!). then there's 'the riddle of magic' by rubyfoxfire - an epic in itself, and one that generally sticks to the 'romantic friendship' sort of angle. just a few options on your table😻. thank you for indulging me with this ask and take care!✌️

Charlastor gets such an unwarranted amount of hate. 😓 I think it's a pretty normal ship that hits on a lot of popular romance tropes. And they're two great characters with amazing chemistry in the show! The way some parts of the fandom have labeled Charlastor as this super problematic ship is just so ridiculous. So many of those arguments are really bad takes of the source material or just completely baseless. And it's funny how a lot of the issues that folks bring up about Charlastor are conveniently ignored when it comes to some other ships. 😒 I wish it wasn't such low-hanging fruit for the fandom to target as a "bad" ship. It's okay to hate a ship because you don't like the dynamic or you ship the characters with other characters. What isn't okay is trying to rally an entire fandom into thinking that ship is "bad" and anyone who ships it is a bad person.

I do get the occasional hate comment and just immediately delete them. 😪 These types of people are just looking to get a rise out of you and I feel like the best course of action is to ignore them. I also tend to stick to just the Charlastor communities in online spaces. There are so many great people in our little shipdom. 🥰

And don't worry, my passion for Charlastor and UMS is still going strong, even if the writing process can be a slog sometimes. 😅 Your support and kind words really mean a lot! ❤️ And I know how much effort goes into translating a fic into another language, so thank you for doing that as well!

I can see him trying to speak French to her to be charming but he ends up being a bad case of google translate 😈 Bonus Points, if Charlie is fluent in all languages cause hey, she got a royalty upbringing under her belt.

And Charlie would totally be oblivious with all his flirting. He’d take her on all the tourist sights trying to rizz her up only to end up failing miserably. It’d be so FUNNY. He totally wouldn’t give up either cause if anything he’s determined all the while Charlie is being her adorable self.

Asdfghjkl yes to all of this! 😆 But he’d refuse to take her to the Eiffel Tower. He’s got major beef with it, being that it’s a radio transmitter.

If Vox and Charlie did fuck who would top and bottom?

Anon, you have lit up the pinball machine that is my brain and this ask has been darting around it all day while I manically mash the flipper buttons.

After much deliberation, I think Vox would be a sloppy top. He thinks he's giving Charlie the time of her life, when in reality he's pounding her like a jackhammer and barely lasts two minutes before he pops off and collapses on top of her. Then he'd have the audacity to roll over and say "That was great for me babe, was it great for you?" Like I could see him being very selfish and overconfident in the bedroom.

I also think Vox would enjoy getting Charlie off, but it's less about her pleasure and more about boosting his own ego. He wants the bragging rights to say he had the princess of hell moaning, squirming, and begging for his USB stick. 😏

Alternatively, I could also see Charlie as a mommy top. She's so tender and attentive with him, it unlocks this deep need for affection and intimacy that he's always had inside of him. So he becomes just an absolute whimpering mess in her arms, desperate for her to love him.

I like to think Vox is a guy who despite being so intricately connected to the world through technology, lacks any meaningful connections in his (after)life. All his relationships are superficial. Alastor abandoned him. Velvette barely tolerates him for the sake of their business partnership. Valentino forgets about him whenever Angel Dust shows up. He thinks he can fill this void with all the tech, power, and influence he has, but it's never enough, which is why he's constantly seeking more. Then someone comes along who actually gives him what he's been craving - love, affection, connection, the feeling of not being used as a means to a end - and he latches on HARD.

Not to circle this back to Charlastor (surprise surprise lol) but this is something I love about the Staticbelle/Charlastor love triangle. The idea that Alastor and Vox fall for Charlie for the same reasons and she fills this huge emotional void they both have to be loved and wanted. But while Alastor was always in denial about having such needs, Vox had been futilely pursuing other ways to fulfill them.

Yup, I’m going the “he’s a 130+ year old virgin” route in my fic. Alastor’s inner monologues have alluded a few times to the fact that he has very little experience in that department. I consider him a “serial first dater”. He went on plenty of dates, mostly ones his mother insisted on, but none of them progressed past an obligatory kiss at the end of the night. Eventually she gave up trying to set him up with someone since he showed zero interest in it.

All this will be delved into more when he and Charlie get to that point in their relationship. 😉

Your fic is killing me ITS KILLING ME. Please just let them kiss already I’m begging you. This slow burn hurts so good but I can’t take it anymore and I don’t think they can either. I’m going to explode like alastor if they don’t kiss soon.

But seriously under my skin is everything to me. I drop everything I’m doing to read it the second I get the notification. The writing is so good I’m in awe how much it feels like a season of the show. I love the way you write alastor. He’s goofy and charming like in the show but still has a threatening aura. His slow realization of his feelings for charlie is so believable too. As a demi person myself, I really love that it was a gradual thing and he wasn’t all of a sudden lusting after her. I love how the moments of attraction slowly intensified and each chapter he got bolder until he was literally crawling into her lap. Poor guy was desperate and he didn’t know what to do about it until the next chapter.

On that topic THAT scene from last chapter was so flipping hot. I love how you described alastor’s half made fantasies. He has a mental block because of his shame but also he’s never been interested in sex so he doesn’t even know what to imagine. And then he wants her so bad that he’s finally able to imagine something. Him clawing at the armrest and pretending it’s her boob was so hot gahhhhh.

And yesss, I wanted to sprinkle in the moments of attraction while he's working through his feelings for Charlie. Staring at her boobs, appreciating her smile, feeling a prickle on his neck, little things like that before he has a full body reaction and realizes he's sexually attractive to her. He starts craving physical contact with her so badly, I don't think he realizes half the time when he's all over her.

You're exactly right regarding the spicy scene! Previous to giving into his desires, Alastor very much had a mental block about his Charlie fantasies. Part of that was self-inflicted because he felt so much shame about having these thoughts/urges in the first place. And part of that was because he just straight up didn't know what to imagine. Not that he's totally clueless about sex, but a lack of experience and interest would mean that he doesn't really have a catalog of fantasies to pull from. But after all the close encounters that he and Charlie had that night - her squirming in his lap, him pinning her to the bed, etc. - that combined with his utter desperation gave him enough in the spank bank to imagine his fantasies to completion. 😈

And don't worry! There are no plans to abandon this fic. The Charlastor parasite has permanently fixated itself to my frontal lobe. ❤️‍🔥

Love the podcast idea but i'm sad that under my skin might be ending. It's one of the best chalastor fics out there and has filled the void for me until season two.

Under My Skin is getting close-ish to the end. I have about 40 chapters planned for it, so we’re almost there! There’s one more major story arc after the one we’re currently in. But given how I’m releasing chapters every 3 weeks or so, we’re still a ways off from finishing.

I also don’t plan to start the podcaster AU until after I’ve finished UMS. I don’t have the time or the brain power to handle multiple WIPs at once. 😅

Most definitely! Charlie has already expressed interest in learning more about Alastor’s life when he was human and understanding how that shaped his afterlife. That’s going to become a bigger plot point as they grow closer.

Alastor thinks he knows everything there is to know about Charlie, given she’s such an open book. But he’ll continue to be surprised at the new tidbits he learns about her.

I really want to say that I am IN LOVE with your “Under My Skin” fanfic! The fact that you managed to have a story divergence focused on romance while simultaneously keeping all of the characters’ canonical personalities intact yet still entertaining is something truly amazing!! Out of curiosity, how many chapters do you plan on having for it? And what other major story beats will you plan on having in the future outside of the romance?

Ahh, thank you!! 🥰 I’m basically writing my fantasy version of Hazbin Hotel where Charlastor is the focus, so I’m trying really hard to keep everyone in-character and have the story play out like it was a season of the show. I’m so grateful for the support! ❤️ It keeps me motivated to keep writing.

I’m not sure of the exact length, but I’m thinking it’ll be around 40-45 chapters. Outside of the romance, we’ll see some more bureaucratic nonsense from Heaven and Vox will make a return. Something is also going on with Alastor’s powers/shadow, which a lot of folks have picked up on. That’s going to be important too. There are some other plot points I plan to address, like Charlie’s deal with Alastor, who owns Alastor’s soul, etc. All in due time! 😉
