#what cancers cause elevated liver enzymes

Fairytale, a Pointer Sisters cover, was recorded by Elvis in early 1975 and featured as an album track on Today, released in May of that year. It would remain in the live set right up to the end.
This joyous version was captured in a good quality audience recording during Elvis' dinner show in Las Vegas on August 20th, 1975. He's in such great form that it's actually quite hard to believe that following the second show that night, the engagement would be abruptly cancelled (just three nights in) and Elvis would be flown back to Memphis and admitted to hospital.
United Press international (UPI) issued a syndicated report on the sudden cancellation;
"…'He just got very tired and fatigued and we thought it would be best if he cut his show here short this time rather than run into complications', said Dr Elias Ghanem, the singer's Las Vegas physician. 'We can't find much wrong with him. One of the liver enzymes is elevated and what he needs is rest'…"
Dr Ghanem (1939-2001) enjoyed an enviable lifestyle from his business activities and from billing a number of wealthy and undoubtedly generous Las Vegas entertainers for treatment of, amongst other things, ‘Vegas Throat’ – raspy soreness caused by a combination of the dry desert air and the air-conditioning (and passive smoking) within the hotels and casinos. He was also a proponent of the sleep diet; a regimen of weight loss that appeared to involve the patient being sedated for much of the time and consuming liquid nutrition during rare moments of consciousness. Elvis himself had availed himself of this regime on at least one occasion.
The Irish Times wrote an obituary for Dr Ghanem upon his death from renal cancer in 2001.
"…He was Elvis Presley's personal physician, as well as the doctor for Elvis's posthumous son-in-law Michael Jackson. Although his patient list also included Liberace, Bill Cosby, Ann-Margret, and Virginia Kelley (the mother of former President Bill Clinton), it was Ghanem's relationship with The King which first brought him under the spotlight of unwanted notoriety. When ABC's television programme 20-20 reported that he had supplied the drugs which essentially killed Presley, Dr Ghanem threatened to sue - but he never did…"
The article also noted that Ghanem had been the subject of an FBI investigation over billing, but never charged, and that Colonel Parker had a financial interest in Ghanem's clinic situated conveniently adjacent to the Las Vegas Hilton.
"…Ghanem expanded his practice to include a chain of clinics around Las Vegas, treating literally thousands of patients. He proposed innovative umbrella health-insurance schemes long before they came into vogue, and signed contracts with the Hotel and Casino Workers' Union, by far the largest group of workers in Nevada. The arrangement was obviously a profitable one for Ghanem, but union leader John Wilhelm, recalled that during a protracted six-year strike at the Frontier Casino, Ghanem treated every worker free of charge and delivered over a hundred babies for the striking workers…"
Following the cancellation, Elvis was flown back to Memphis where he was admitted to a private suite on the top floor of Baptist Memorial Hospital. His next professional engagement was back in Las Vegas in December making up for the cancelled shows.

Life update - Cancer talk
TRIGGER WARNING FOR CANCER
Hello, my darlings!
Gosh, been a hot minute since the last post so I will give you all an update! Last time I said the doctors found out I had a low blood count, but that wasn’t the only problem they stumbled upon. Through my bloodworks they realised I also had elevated liver enzymes. They had an idea that it might be caused by the chemo, but I still had to get a CT scan just to be sure. It made me nervous because they had told me it could have been becasue of the sickness too, which instantly made me anxious if that meant the cancer had spread. Thankfully it had not! The chemo was the culprit of both the blood count and the elevated liver enzymes.
This meant that my chemo treatment was cut shorter than expected. I was supposed to get my very last chemo treatment on the 28th of July, but that was scrapped. It also meant that the operation that I was supposed to have on the 15th of August was now pushed forward to THIS Wednesday, on the 3rd of August. As for the low blood count I did end up getting a blood transfusion. I was given two bags of blood and already after about 15 minutes I felt amazing! Before the transfusion I had to sit in a wheelchair whenever I went to the hospital, because I couldn’t walk for very long before I got so winded and exhausted. After the two blood bags I was able to leave the hospital walking in my normal pace! I had colour in my cheeks again, I could feel warmth in my extremeties and I was able to actually DO things again. Before I spent over half of the day sleeping, sitting in front of the PC or laying on the couch. I couldn’t do anything else because my energy and strength were simply not there.
So, yeah... I’ll be getting my operation on Wednesday and won’t be home for a while. I don’t know what the plans are for me after the operation. It really depends on what the tests of my lymph-nodes tell them. It might me more chemo in form of pills, nothing or radiation therapy, depending on the lab results, but that’s out somewhere in the future.
If you have questions or just want to chat, just hit me up! Getting messages from you gusy have been such a treat!
Until then, remeber you are loved, you are valid, and you are appreciated!

e like others.
Fact — jaundice is not a disease but a medical condition where your body starts secreting excess amounts of bilirubin.
Myth — jaundice is a very serious medical state
Fact — this is a partial myth. Yes, jaundice left untreated can lead to various severe complications but the death rate of Jaundice is very low and every person suffers from jaundice at least once in their lifetime so it’s quite common and easy to get rid of.
Myth — exposure to sunlight can solve the jaundice
Fact — this is a big myth. Exposure to sunlight to someone suffering from jaundice can worsen the state as it can lead to sunburn and dehydration.
How do doctors diagnose jaundice?
In most cases, diagnosis of Jaundice is not needed as the pale skin texture answers everything. But doctors still go for your examinations for confirmation. these examinations include the following-
• Blood analysis
• Urine test
• Physical test
• Skin test with transcutaneous bilirubin meter
• Stool sample ( if necessarily needed )
Study the pre-health issues of the person

Shedding Light on Gallbladder Cancer: Risk Factors and Prevention
Gallbladder cancer is a relatively rare but deadly form of cancer that develops in the gallbladder—a small, pear-shaped organ located in the upper right portion of the abdomen. The gallbladder stores and concentrates bile produced by the liver and released into the small intestine to help with fat digestion. While not very common, gallbladder cancer poses serious health risks and requires urgent medical intervention for treatment. This in-depth article aims to provide comprehensive information about gallbladder cancer, including risk factors, symptoms, diagnostic tests, staging, treatment options and prevention strategies. What is Gallbladder Cancer? Gallbladder cancer, also known as cholangiocarcinoma, occurs when abnormal and uncontrolled cell growth develops in the epithelial lining of the gallbladder. These cancerous cells form tumors that can destroy healthy gallbladder tissue and spread to other organs if left undetected and untreated. Gallbladder cancer is considered an aggressive form of cancer as it often does not show obvious symptoms until reaching an advanced stage. The majority of gallbladder cancers are diagnosed at a late stage when the probability of long-term survival is quite low. Risk Factors for Gallbladder Cancer Several factors are known to increase the risk of developing gallbladder cancer. Age is a significant risk factor, with most gallbladder cancers occurring in people over 60 years of age. Women are also at a slightly higher risk than men. Other prominent risk factors include gallstones, infection of the gallbladder (cholecystitis), obesity, smoking, and family history of gallbladder cancer. People with conditions like porcelain gallbladder or gallbladder polyps are also known to face elevated risk. Chronic inflammation caused by these risk factors is believed to damage gallbladder cells over many years and increase cancer risk. Symptoms of Gallbladder Cancer Early stage gallbladder cancer often does not present any perceivable symptoms. As the cancer progresses and spreads, the following signs and symptoms may develop: - Continuous pain in the upper right or middle section of the abdomen - Jaundice or yellowing of skin and whites of eyes - Loss of appetite and unintended weight loss - Fever - Nausea or vomiting - Enlarged lymph nodes in neck region - Fatigue - Abdominal swelling or lump - Pain under ribs on right side of body Diagnostic Tests for Gallbladder Cancer When gallbladder cancer is suspected based on symptoms and medical history, doctors perform some imaging tests and laboratory workups to confirm diagnosis: - Abdominal ultrasound examines gallbladder thickness and mass formation - CT scan provides detailed images of organs and lymph nodes - MRI scan uses magnetic fields to produce detailed pictures of soft tissues - ERCP enables direct visualization and biopsy of gallbladder - Blood test to check bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase and liver enzyme levels - Biopsy involves surgically removing gallbladder tissue sample for examination under microscope Staging Gallbladder Cancer

The role of liver biopsies in diagnosing liver problems
Tumblr media
Liver biopsies are a diagnostic tool used to identify liver problems. The liver is a vital organ in the body responsible for numerous functions, including the production of bile, the metabolism of nutrients, and the detoxification of harmful substances. A liver biopsy involves taking a small sample of liver tissue and examining it under a microscope to determine if there are any abnormalities or damage.
A liver biopsy may be recommended by the best liver specialist in Surat if a patient has an elevated level of liver enzymes in their blood, indicating that their liver is not functioning correctly. It can also be useful in diagnosing liver diseases such as cirrhosis, hepatitis, and fatty liver disease. In some cases, a liver biopsy can help determine the severity of liver disease and the potential for future complications.
During a liver biopsy, the best liver doctor in Surat will insert a thin needle into the liver and remove a small sample of tissue. The procedure can be done in a doctor’s office or a hospital under local anesthesia or conscious sedation. The patient may experience some discomfort or pain during the procedure, but it is generally well-tolerated.
After the biopsy, the liver tissue sample is examined by a pathologist to identify any abnormalities or damage. The results of the biopsy can help guide treatment decisions and monitor the progression of liver disease.
In summary, liver biopsies are an important tool for diagnosing liver problems and assessing the severity of liver disease. While it is an invasive procedure, it can provide valuable information that can guide treatment decisions and help monitor the progression of liver disease.
FAQ:
What is the role of liver biopsy?
A liver biopsy is a medical procedure in which a small piece of liver tissue is removed and examined under a microscope to evaluate the liver’s health and diagnose certain liver conditions.
The role of liver biopsy is to provide valuable information to the liver surgeon about the structure, function, and health of the liver. It is often used to diagnose and monitor liver diseases such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, and fatty liver disease. The biopsy can help determine the degree of liver damage, the severity of the disease, and the stage of progression.
What is the role of liver biopsy in chronic liver disease?
Liver biopsy is a useful tool in the diagnosis and management of chronic liver disease. The liver is a complex organ, and chronic liver diseases can have different causes, manifestations, and stages of progression. Liver biopsy can provide important information about the extent and nature of liver damage, the severity of the disease, and the likelihood of progression to liver failure or liver cancer.
What is the role of liver biopsy in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease?
Liver biopsy can play an important role in the diagnosis and management of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), a common condition in which excess fat accumulates in the liver in the absence of significant alcohol consumption. NAFLD can progress to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), a more severe form of the disease characterized by inflammation and liver cell injury, which can lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer.
What is the utility of liver biopsy in the evaluation of liver disease and abnormal liver function tests?
According to Dr. Dhaval Mangukiya, one of the best liver surgeon in Surat, the liver biopsy can be a valuable tool in the evaluation of liver disease and abnormal liver function tests, particularly when non-invasive tests such as imaging or blood tests are inconclusive or conflicting.
Here are some examples of how liver biopsy can be useful in this context:
Diagnosis of liver disease: Liver biopsy can help diagnose liver diseases such as viral hepatitis, autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, Wilson’s disease, and others. In some cases, liver biopsy can also help identify rare or unusual liver diseases that may be difficult to diagnose by other means.
Staging and prognosis of liver disease: Liver biopsy can provide information on the degree of liver inflammation, fibrosis, and cirrhosis, which are important predictors of disease progression and response to treatment. This information can guide clinical decisions such as the need for treatment, the choice of treatment, and the frequency of monitoring.
Monitoring of liver disease: Liver biopsy can be used to monitor the progression of liver disease and the response to treatment over time. Repeat liver biopsies can provide valuable information on the rate of liver fibrosis or cirrhosis, which can help guide treatment decisions.
Evaluation of unexplained liver function abnormalities: Liver biopsy may be considered in cases of unexplained liver function abnormalities or suspected liver disease in which non-invasive tests are inconclusive or conflicting. Liver biopsy can provide direct visualization of the liver tissue, allowing for a more accurate assessment of liver function and pathology.
However, liver biopsy is an invasive procedure and carries a small risk of complications such as bleeding or infection. The decision to perform a liver biopsy should be made in consultation at a hospital which specialises in performing best liver surgery in Surat, taking into account the potential risks and benefits for each individual patient.

CHOLESTEROL: your paper filter is valued at a "pound associated with cure" or so. One can find two substances within coffee, kahweol together with cafestol, that boost cholesterol levels. Within the brewing process, daily news filters capture such substances. Paper filter systems, in this case, help in preventing harmful cholesterol values. Coffee drinkers exactly who drink non-filtered capuccinos such as "lattes, inches which do not work with paper filters, probably want to reconsider their personal preference and frequency from beverage for their very own health benefit.
YOUR INTESTINAL TRACT CANCER: drinking no less than two cups of flavored coffee daily can result in a 25% lessened risk of bowel cancer. Coffee consumers, as compared to non caffeine drinkers, appear to be 50% less likely to get ailing liver cancer. They also have cheaper rates of large intestine, breast and rectal cancers. There is a successful antioxidant found practically exclusively in coffees, methylpyridinium, that elevates blood enzymes generally believed to protect against your intestinal tract cancer. Methylpyridinium can be formed in the cooking process from a element found naturally around coffee beans. Dark roasting coffees contain few times more with this antioxidant than carrier roasts.
CIRRHOSIS: java drinkers have as many as 80% reduced probability to suffer from cirrhosis than non flavored coffee drinkers. People who smoke a cigarette and are heavy customers have less poorly liver damage as compared to individuals who do not. The lower risk of alcoholic beverages cirrhosis may be for this phenolics and similar substances in caffeine.
DEMENTIA: drinking coffees during middle their age may reduce the possibility of Alzheimer's health problems and the risk with dementia in the older folk. Coffee drinkers from midlife have a decreased risk for dementia or Alzheimer's later on in life as opposed to people who drank minimum coffee at midlife. Moderate coffee lovers had up to a 65% decrease risk involving contracting these illnesses as compared with lower coffee drinkers.
GALL STONES: certain compounds inside coffee may help steer clear of liquid stored inside the gallbladder ("bile") out of crystallizing or hardening. This is what causes gall stones and obstructs your bile duct, a good narrow tube leading from the gallbladder for the intestine. Gallstones tend to be painful and clients can experience feeling sick and jaundice. What does NMN powder do? Are there any side effects?
Lets learn what nmn supplement powder is and about its side effects
People all throughout the world are living longer now because of advancements in modern medicine. A continuous decline in fertility has increased the number of elderly people in addition to lower mortality and increased survival. The World Health Organization predicts that by 2050, there will be 2.1 billion older people in the world, which will be a double of the current elderly population.
However, a longer life is not a guarantee of health. Our organs gradually deteriorate and collect damage as we age, leaving us more vulnerable to illness. Because of this, many scientists are now focused on developing strategies to reduce, stop, or even reverse the effects of ageing. If effective, so-called anti-aging medications could make age-related diseases less common and lengthen and improve the quality of our lives.
Currently, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), a crucial chemical, is being studied as one of the most promising anti-aging targets. NAD+ fuels enzymes essential for repairing DNA damage and mediates the creation of the energy our cells require to operate and thrive. This essential chemical gradually deteriorates with age.
Many researchers believe that the organ deterioration that is a hallmark of ageing is caused by the age-related drop in NAD+. Therefore, by restoring NAD+, our cells, organs, and ourselves all experience improved health. If this is possible, we will be able to live longer because to the absence of age-related diseases with a high mortality rate, such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, and neurological disorders.
Nicotinamide mononucleotide has not yet been linked to any adverse consequences in people. The majority of investigations on NMN have been carried out in rodents, and these studies have shown that nmn supplement powder has beneficial benefits on metabolism, brain function, liver, skin, muscle, bone structure, heart health, reproduction, immunity, and lifespan. A lengthy mouse trial revealed no toxicity, harmful side effects, or elevated death rate during the course of the intervention's 12-month duration.
There are no safety issues with NMN after a single oral intake of 100, 250, or 500 mg of the substance in humans, according to one study. Researchers observed no changes in body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, or blood oxygen levels five hours after the lone oral delivery of NMN. Blood investigations in the lab did not reveal any notable changes, with the exception of four molecules whose levels were within normal limits. The sleep quality was also evaluated in this study, and there were no variations between the pre- and post-NMN periods.
In order to ascertain whether NMN consumption has any negative side effects, researchers need to perform more research on how the drug is administered to humans. To determine whether adverse effects are caused by doses greater than 500 mg, researchers may examine them.
Effepharm adheres completely to USP and FDA guidelines to ensure production is of the highest possible calibre. Genuine Uthever is provided by EffePharm, and Intertek, a global third party, has verified its purity.
The market's highest purity product, Uthever® from Effepharm, has less contaminants, especially endotoxins. Our customers in the United States and Europe love Uthever®.
We significantly reduced its hygroscopicity and temperature sensitivity with Effepharm's NMN, enabling it to be stored at standard room temperature. We've used contemporary pharmaceutical technology to create controlled-release and sustained-release NMN formulations in an effort to increase its bioavailability. Please get in touch with us if you'd want more details as soon as new, inventive forms are created.
How can we restore our NAD+ levels? Since NAD+ exists naturally, our cells already possess the machinery needed to produce it; they only require the required biochemical elements. Like an assembly line in a factory, our cells create molecules, with each part serving as a precursor to the next. Nicotinamide mononucleotide is the name of the biological precursor to NAD+ (NMN). NMN can be taken orally, unlike NAD+ itself, and can therefore be used as a supplement to increase NAD+ levels.

High Alkaline Phosphatase and Other Liver Enzymes | Zyla Health
The liver is shaped like a cone and is dark red-brown in colour. It weighs around 1.3 kg and is located on the upper right side of the abdomen. It is the largest internal organ in the body and yet most people overlook its impact on their health.
This vital organ plays many roles in our day to day functioning. Some of these include:
The production of a fluid called bile (stored in gall bladder) which helps to carry away waste from the liver and breaks down fats.
The production of cholesterol.
The production of proteins like albumin and fibrinogen. Albumin helps in maintaining blood volume and fibrinogen prevents blood from clotting inside the body.
So, as much as you pay attention to your hair, clothing and footwear you must also pay a little extra attention to one of the most crucial organs in your system that keeps you alive and kicking.
Let us continue reading about it a little more in detail by discussing various liver enzymes like alkaline phosphatase, SGOT etc and their functions in our body, thus understanding how certain factors affect our liver and liver enzymes.
Liver Enzymes
These are the proteins produced by the liver to examine the extent of any damage to our liver. It includes low or high ALP, SGOT, SGPT and GGT.
In a normal human body without any diseases or health issues, these enzymes are expressed at a normal level.
The most common enzymes produced by the liver are aminotransferases. In case the liver is damaged in any way these enzyme levels shoot up which is a sign of some liver damage. These include:
SGOT (Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase) or AST (Aspartate transaminase)
SGPT (Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase) or ALT (Alanine transaminase)
The other two enzymes are the:
ALP (Alkaline phosphatase)
GGT (Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase)
The disturbed enzyme levels are detected in blood tests. Although, slightly elevated levels of these enzymes might not be a cause for concern. However, it is suggested to rule out the possibility of early disease.
Make sure to have a word with your healthcare professional if the levels of these enzymes are elevated. Now, let us look at some common causes of elevated liver enzymes!
Causes of High Liver Enzymes
There are many diseases, diet patterns and medications that can be the reason for the high ALP and other liver enzymes. Some of these include:
Common disease conditions- Hepatitis A, B, C, obesity, heart failure, liver cancer, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, sepsis, etc.
Diet- Red meat, fried food, salted food, white bread, added sugar and most importantly drinking alcohol on a regular basis.
Medications- OTC drugs and certain statins.
If you’re seeking help to improve your liver health by working on the above causes, you can download the Zyla app or visit our website Zyla.in and enrol in the “Liver Lifeline Program”.
Now that you know what causes liver enzymes to rise, let us take a look at how the body reacts to elevated alkaline phosphatase and other liver enzymes and what signs do you need to watch out for!
Symptoms of High Liver Enzymes
In the case of slight elevations, there are not many noticeable symptoms. However, when the levels of these enzymes are significantly high you might experience:
Fatigue or right upper abdominal pain
Tenderness
Itching
Nausea and vomiting
Tumblr media
Besides the symptoms of high alkaline phosphatase and other liver enzymes, there are some other cases where your doctor might ask you to get your Liver Function Test (LFT) done. These include:
Family history of liver disease
Obesity or overweight
Excessive alcohol intake and drug usage
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM)
In case your liver enzymes are elevated, with or without any symptoms, your doctor might recommend further imaging in order to get a confirmed diagnosis. Let us look at some imaging methods commonly used to diagnose liver diseases.
Diagnosis for High Liver Enzymes
As mentioned above, in most cases a simple blood test is done to determine the elevation in your alkaline phosphatase and other liver enzymes. Further imaging is then required in order to evaluate the cause or proper diagnosis of the elevated liver enzymes.
Some of the additional tests include:
Physical examination
Ultrasound
CAT scan and
Liver biopsy
In many cases, ultrasound is routinely done after LFT.
Always make sure to follow the precautions before doing any tests. Some tests do require fasting and some don’t. Discuss with your doctor or the lab technician to avoid delays in this process.
Moving on, let us take a look at what we can do in order to manage liver health at home effectively.
Treatment and Diet for High Liver Enzymes
So far, we have discussed basic analysing methods and the symptoms associated with high ALP and other enzymes. Now here we will look into the management of these high levels.
If the levels are only slightly elevated, the doctor usually suggests changes in your diet. And if you consume alcohol regularly, your doctor will most definitely ask you to limit your intake and gradually stop to prevent further damage to the liver and to reduce high alkaline phosphatase.
Most of the common foods that help to treat liver disease are:
Vegetables and fruits– All veggies and fruits are filled with fibre and different antioxidants which help in preventing fat buildup and reducing inflammation in the liver.
Garlic– In case you are looking out to lose some weight and also have fatty liver disease, garlic makes this process a bit faster. Include it in your regular curries, sabzis or have 1 garlic clove on an empty stomach.
Omega 3 fatty acids– If you are a fish eater, fishes like sardines, tuna and salmon are high in these fatty acids that help in bringing down inflammation in the liver. Olive oil is another major source of omega 3 fatty acid that has proven to lower liver enzymes including alkaline phosphatase.
Sunflower seeds– These yummy tasting seeds packed with Vitamin E, helps to protect the liver from damage as Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant. They help to slow down the damage done by certain molecules to the liver.
Tofu– Another interesting food that is rich in soy protein, tofu is proven to have antioxidant properties that prevent liver damage.
We have discussed all the important food items that can help to improve liver health. All these food items are common and can be easily found in any kitchen and grocery store.
Now we will move to the foods that you need to avoid to reduce high alkaline phosphatase and other liver enzymes, which include:
Fried Foods– It does not require any explanation since we all know that fried foods are rich in unhealthy fats and can easily worsen liver health.
Sugar– Most of the packaged food items are loaded with sugar. Staying away from these can prevent a wide range of health problems.
White foods– These food items are usually high in refined flour. Flour is highly processed and less in fibre which in turn leads to an increase in your plasma glucose levels.
Fats — A big NO trans fat and limit saturated fats in case of any liver issues.
Phew! That was one considering list. But now you have an idea of your grocery list. So, the next time you go shopping, take this list to protect your liver from damage.
For a detailed eating plan to improve liver health, you can download the Zyla app or visit our website Zyla.in and enrol in the “Liver Lifeline Program”. The plan will guide you through foods to eat, to avoid, how much to eat and when to eat etc.
Let us also take a look at the common medications that are prescribed in liver disease:
1. NAFLD (NON-ALCOHOLIC
FATTY LIVER DISEASE
)
In this case, your doctor might simply suggest vitamin E supplements to reverse high alkaline phosphatase or the mild level of damage or in some cases, even pioglitazone is suggested in case you are diabetic.
2. HEPATITIS
Hepatitis is mostly treated with antiviral drugs. These drugs have shown maximum efficacy to treat hepatitis but they also come with a pack of symptoms that include weakness, nausea, sleep disturbances, etc.
Interferon therapy is another line of treatment for hepatitis and works with your immune system to fight the virus.
3. AUTOIMMUNE HEPATITIS
This is treated with steroids and immunosuppressants. Again these medicines come with a wide range of symptoms from weight gain to an increase in your blood pressure.
4. CIRRHOSIS
In the case of long term liver disease, ursodeoxycholic acid is the go-to drug. It is a natural bile acid that moves the bile to the small intestine.
In case you experience difficulty while taking it alone, your doctor might prescribe obeticholic acid which also helps in increasing bile flow.
Alcohol Abuse Treatment
Reducing the consumption of alcohol to gradually put a stop altogether is the best way to prevent your liver from further damage. Alcohol being a toxin pushes the liver to work more to remove it from the body. For more information, read our blog, “How alcohol programs our liver to die?”
Alcohol affects your body in different ways. Alcohol is primarily responsible for high ALP levels. It also causes severe dehydration in your body.
If you have become dependent on alcohol, the step to recovery must be slow but steady. Some of the options available for alcohol addiction treatment include:
Support groups
Counselling with a therapist
Rehabilitation programs
De-addiction centres
Prescription medications as suggested by your doctor
It is advisable to talk to your doctor in order to find the best way to figure out this problem. It is not mandatory to take medicines for this treatment. You can choose to get off this addiction in a healthy manner on your own.
Alcohol de-addiction takes months and sometimes years to come out of, but always make sure you have a team to help you with this. Always discuss with your healthcare professional before taking herbal supplements and other medications that might have a direct effect on the liver.
Also, your doctor might suggest you get vaccinated against hepatitis and pneumonia as well. Do make sure to get them on a timely basis.
So far, you must have created a picture in your mind about the liver as a whole and most importantly about the role of the enzymes. You are now aware of symptoms associated with elevations of liver enzymes including alkaline phosphatase.
In some cases, working on your diet will not solely help. In those cases, do not take the risk of prolonging damage to your liver. Instead, talk to your doctor and get the right help at the right time.
The side effects of liver disease are not as simple as it seems on paper. Living with it is a task but you don’t have to worry and stress about it. The right medications along with the right diet and lifestyle changes will help you to manage it in a better way.
If you are seeking help to improve your liver health in a better way, you can download the Zyla app or visit our website Zyla.in and enrol in Liver Lifeline Program today! You can also check out the other health programs which are suitable for you.

Maternal Exposure to Environmental Chemicals may play role in Pediatric Liver Disease
Tumblr media
MedicalResearch.com Interview with:
Tumblr media
Dr. Midya Vishal Midya, PhD, MStat Postdoctoral Researcher Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai  MedicalResearch.com:  What is the background for this study?    Response: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common liver disease in children in the U.S., Europe and other world regions, currently affecting 1 in every 10 children, and 1 in every 3 children with obesity in the U.S. The rate of pediatric NAFLD has more than doubled in recent decades following the epidemic rates also noted for childhood obesity. There is increasing interest in the role that environmental chemical exposures may play in NAFLD etiology, since several animal studies have shown that prenatal exposures to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) cause liver injury and damage; but, until now, the potential effects of prenatal EDC mixture exposures in pediatric NAFLD had not been studied. MedicalResearch.com:  What are the main findings? Response: In this study, we measured 45 chemicals in the blood or urine from 1,108 pregnant women from six European countries and found that maternal exposure to several environmental chemical exposures may play in NAFLD etiology, since several animal studies have shown that prenatal exposures to endocrine-disrupting chemicals commonly used in consumer and industrial products increases risk for NAFLD in the child. Environmental chemical exposures may play in NAFLD etiology, since several animal studies have shown that prenatal exposures to endocrine-disrupting chemicals are known to interfere with the hormone systems and pass through the placenta from the mother to the fetus altering fetal programming and development. Examples of chemicals we investigated include perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also known as “forever chemicals”, used in nonstick cookware and food packaging, and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) used as flame retardants in furniture and infant products. Other chemical classes we studied include pesticides, plastics, and toxic metals. When the children reached the ages of 6 to 11 years old, we measured the levels of liver enzymes and cytokeratin-18 that indicate risk for NAFLD in the children’s blood, finding elevated levels of those biomarkers in children who had been more highly exposed to environmental chemicals, and especially to persistent organochlorine pesticides, PFAS, PBDEs, and metals, during pregnancy. MedicalResearch.com: What should readers take away from your report? Response: It is important to be aware of the health risks that endocrine-disrupting chemicals pose for the mother and the developing fetus and possible ways to avoid these exposures. Some effective ways in reducing exposure to EDCs in pregnancy and early childhood include avoiding the use of products that contain them, such as plastic containers, bottles, packaging and toys, canned food and beverages, fast/processed foods, non-stick cookware, pesticides and cosmetics, and consuming fresh and organic foods whenever possible. However, EDCs are ubiquitous in consumer products and the environment, and there are many sources of exposure that are beyond the control of individuals. Therefore, policy changes are sorely needed, such as banning the use of EDCs in consumer products and requiring companies to disclose what chemicals are in a product. This would let consumers make informed choices for their health. MedicalResearch.com: What recommendations do you have for future research as a result of this work? Response: NAFLD is now diagnosed in children as young as 2 years of age, and NAFLD in childhood is associated with increased risk for severe chronic liver disease later in adulthood. We need more research and longitudinal studies to elucidate the potential effects of early life EDC exposures on pediatric NAFLD and its progression to more severe liver diseases such as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. We also need further research to understand how environmental chemical exposures may interact with our genes, diet and social factors in the development of pediatric liver disease. This information will be informative in designing more effective early life prevention and intervention strategies to reverse the current NAFLD epidemic in children and subsequently adults in the future. MedicalResearch.com: Is there anything else you would like to add?  Response: We are deeply grateful to all researchers and research staff of the HELIX consortium and all the participating families in the HELIX cohorts. This study was funded by the U.S. National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and the European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme. Citation Midya V, Colicino E, Conti DV, et al. Jaundice fever – symptoms, causes, prevention, myths, diagnosis, treatments and faqs – All you need to know about jaundice
Tumblr media
Overview
Jaundice is a medical condition where the person's skin becomes highly yellowish and the eyes whiten and discolour due to the elevation of bilirubin in their blood. Jaundice is most common among young children but it can affect people of any age.
Bilirubin occurs when there is any kind of breakdown in the red blood cells of the human body.
If anyone is seen with pale yellow skin and Eyes or if they go through dark and yellow colour urination, it is a sure sign of Jaundice.
Jaundice occurrence is a cause of many things and a poor Lifestyle causes the generation of an amount of bilirubin in the body.
Someone who is taking regular drugs without the prescription of their doctor may have a higher risk of generating jaundice or people going for substance abuse like alcohol
and smoking are more prone to getting affected by the disease. However, the disease is easily preventable if you are following a Healthy lifestyle,
having a properly balanced diet managing stress, having Limited consumption of alcohol, exercising regularly, having protected and safe sex and going for a regular medical check-up can easily reduce the risk of getting affected by any kind of disease in themselves.
What are the various Signs and symptoms to detect jaundice in my child or anyone else?
Jaundice is caused when your body starts secreting excess amounts of bilirubin in the red blood cells of your body.
The symptoms to detect jaundice include the following-
• Pale, yellowish colour of your skin and Eyes
• Dark and yellowish urine
• Change in the structure of your stool passage
• Mild or moderate level fever
• Continuous irritated and tickled skin
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea
• Appetite loss
• Unexpected weight loss
• Restlessness and dizziness
Did to see medical attention for Jaundice treatment?
Medical attention is needed if your child or anyone else faces a yellowish skin texture of your body which does not improve within 2 - 3 days or maximum within a week. Also, if you don't experience the yellow skin colour of your body but experience the other following symptoms explained above still you should go for a medical consultation at least once.
What are the various causes and diseases which are associated with Jaundice?
Jaundice is caused by the secretion of bilirubin in your body but there are many other states of the body which can result in jaundice. Some of them include the following –
• Lack of enzymes in your body
• Brain haemorrhage
• Sepsis issues
• Biliary atresia
• Abnormal function of your liver
• Suffering from other viral infection
The three stages of Jaundice in a person's body –
• Pre-hepatic stage of jaundice - pre-hepatic jaundice occurs before the secretion of bilirubin in the liver. The disease can lead to autoimmune disorders like nausea, diarrhoea and malaria.
• Hepatic stage of jaundice - the hepatic stage is said to be when the condition starts generating inside the liver which can cause hepatitis and liver disease.
• Post-hepatic stage of Jaundice - when the medical state arises after the secretion of bilirubin in the liver causing bladder issues and cancer it is post hepatic stage.
What are the risk factors associated with Jaundice?
Some of the factors that increase the risk of Jaundice in a person include the following –
• Your age - Although jaundice can affect people of any age children are more prone to jaundice.
• Your race - people of East Asia are found to get jaundice more easily than people in other parts of the world.
• Premature birth of your child
• Lesser Breastfeeding
What are the complications associated with jaundice – Jaundice can lead to various kinds of complications in one’s body like –
• Kernicterus – kernicterus is a medical condition which leads to permanent damage of the human brain. The disease leads to hearing loss vision loss on controlled body movement and unhealthy tooth enamel.
• Acute bilirubin encephalopathy - this is also the disease which is most common in children. The disease affects your brain and can lead to abnormalities like fever and inability to walk and learn new things in children.
Is jaundice preventable?
How can I prevent jaundice?
Yes, jaundice is preventable by taking very few precautionary measures in your everyday life. these include the following –
• Maintain a healthy weight
• Limit alcohol and smoking
• Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids
• Have a properly balanced diet with an adequate amount of high-fibrous foods
• Exercise regular
• Practice yoga and meditation
• Learn to manage your stress in this busy lifestyle
What are the various common myths created about jaundice?
Myth – jaundice is a normal disease like others.
Fact - jaundice is not a disease but a medical condition where your body starts secreting excess amounts of bilirubin.
Myth - jaundice is a very serious medical state
Fact - this is a partial myth. Yes, jaundice left untreated can lead to various severe complications but the death rate of Jaundice is very low and every person suffers from jaundice at least once in their lifetime so it's quite common and easy to get rid of.
Myth - exposure to sunlight can solve the jaundice
Fact – this is a big myth. Exposure to sunlight to someone suffering from jaundice can really worsen the state as it can lead to sunburn and dehydration.
How do doctors diagnose jaundice?
In most cases, diagnosis of Jaundice is not needed as the pale skin texture answers everything. But doctors still go for your examinations for confirmation. these examinations
include the following-
• Blood analysis
• Urine test
• Physical test
• Skin test with transcutaneous bilirubin meter
• Stool sample ( if necessarily needed )
• Study pre pre-health issues of the person
What treatments are available to treat jaundice?
Treatment for Jaundice may include the following doctor's prescription-
• Intravenous fluids
• Blood transfusions
• Vitamin and enzyme supplements
• Babies are provided with more breastfeeding by their mother
• Antibiotic drugs
Frequently asked questions about jaundice –
1. How common is jaundice?
Answer - jaundice is more common than you think. Every 9 out of 10 children suffers jaundice at least once in their life
2. How long does it take to get rid of Jaundice completely?
Answer - mild level jaundice can easily be treated within one week or two. however jaundice in severe may take months to get treated.
3. Is jaundice a life-threatening condition?
Answer - jaundice is not fatal and almost all cases of Jaundice are easily treated. But jaundice left and treated can lead to really hazardous complications like cancer which are the ultimate cause of death

@sallaeyoldas said: Can liver cancer be detected with a blood test? My retriever mix had to be euthanised 6 years ago due to what an autopsy found was a hemangiosarcoma. He had had his biannual physical literally 2 weeks prior to the day he died, where he seemed to be in excellent health for a dog his age (he was 12), but I didn't think to have bloodwork done. I find myself worrying about it lately as my current small breed dog will be turning 8 in a couple of weeks.
Some cancers of the liver show up on blood tests, some don’t.
Haemangiosarcoma is a malignant cancer of blood vessels. It can arise in the liver, or arise elsewhere and spread to the liver, as this type of cancer spreads anywhere and everywhere very easily. And it’s a vrey nasty cancer, with an average survival time of around 60 days from discovery. It’s very common in larger dogs and moves so fast that most dogs don’t even look sick or display weightloss until it’s too late.
There are multiple liver factors tested on most blood screens which test either how the liver is functioning or whether there is compromise to the liver tissues. Haemangiosarcomas don’t typically compromise the liver function, but they can cause elevations in the enzymes that indicate what the liver tissue is doing, like AP and ALT.
Of course, some senior dogs have high AP and ATL anyway from benign, lumpy livers which don’t affect them at all.
And sometimes Haemangiosarcoma doesn’t cause any changes on blood tests at all until it’s too late.
At best a blood test might show something is maybe up with the liver, but you’d need imaging to follow up on it. Haemangiosarcoma is sneaky and fast.
The blood test might show up other things though, so I’d never say it’s not worth doing, but it’s no guarantee to pick up on liver cancer with it.

Hello ! I have a question about going on T, I'm afab and have dealt with health issues for a large portion of my life. My doctors blame a lot of it on infectious diseases. one doctor recently said to me that amab people suffer the most with infectious diseases, and some research I did (tw death) led to a case of one person dying after going on T. I guess my main question is are there any known diseases that can be truly dangerous when mixed with transitioning and what increases risk? thanks
Pretty much the only thing that’s a “never okay” with HRT is a hormone-sensitive cancer (active or history of), for the somewhat obvious reason that the increased hormone could cause the cancer to grow or come back. there are other conditions that are “use with caution” that your doctor might be like “hey, this is kinda risky for you personally, lets watch you more closely, or have you follow up with your disease specialist more often, OR decide exactly how risky it is versus how strong your dysphoria is, maybe its pretty risky but your dysphoria is really not all that bad.” Depending on the HRT: Blood clotting diseases or history of blood clots or stroke; Heart diseases or risk factors for heart disease like high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity or smoking, high blood pressure; liver disease or elevated liver enzymes; kidney or gall bladder disease; strong family history of breast cancer or blood clots; dangerously high blood count; untreated severe sleep apnea; uterine cancer; androgen-sensitive seizures; migraines; history of violent mood swings and severe acne.  Your definition of “truly dangerous” and the medical definition of “truly dangerous” are likely to be different, keep in mind.  We would use that as “we refuse to do these things together because it’s more likely than not to cause harm.” (the first example only).
I have the feeling that you use this phrase to mean “there’s a possibility that it could make this condition significantly worse.” (the second list). For example, I have disabling migraines.  I’m also on testosterone.  It was important for me to be able to transition regardless of my disability in this respect, so we got them under control as well as we could, then we monitored them as closely as possible during the transition and during dose changes.  The same is true of most of these conditions.  Sometimes all it means (like the acne) is changing around some additional medications or lifestyle habits (washing your face differently, changing your pillowcase every night). As far as infectious diseases, there are zero conditions that are specifically “truly dangerous” more-so with T than without (that I have been made aware of).   While it’s true that people with T generally have a slightly weaker immune system, the same is true of both trans and cis men- and we don’t encourage all cis men to go on E to help them survive infectious diseases.   I’d be happy to read the study you found that attributed the death of a person with a disease to their use of T, but my instinct is that at most it was the case report of a person, who also was on T, who also died of a disease (and there is no way to ensure they would not have died without being on T, or that the T was significantly contributory in their death).   Sometimes authors just write things up to get published.
You’ll be significantly better served by ensuring you practice excellent hand hygiene (wash your hands frequently and properly (sing happy birthday or the alphabet song twice all the way through), cough and sneeze into your elbow versus into your hand, and avoid sick people (and stay away from people or use a mask if you can’t) versus avoiding HRT if you need to start it for your quality of life.

To some extent, having fat in the liver is normal but when more than 5 to 10% of the weight of your liver is fat, it is known as fatty liver disease. Although this problem is very common, due to not being detected at the right time, it can take serious form in the future. Nearly one-third of American adults are affected by fatty liver disease and are one of the principal contributors to liver failure. Having fatty liver exposes your liver to a risk of inflammation, injuries, scarring and even lead to liver failure or cirrhosis. Luckily, the fatty liver disease is a reversible disease and only needs some alterations of lifestyle for treatment. Most people are unable to take proper care of their food and health in a busy life. It has a direct impact on human health. Due to irregular routines and an unbalanced diet, many serious diseases take you under control. One of these diseases is the problem of fatty liver. Through this article of HEALTH and FITNESS, we will explain the causes, and symptoms associated with fatty liver. At the same time, we will also try to know what home remedies can be adopted to get rid of this problem.

TYPES OF FATTY LIVER
Fatty liver is of two types,
1.     Alcoholic Fatty Liver: Fatty liver of this type is induced by consuming too much alcohol.
2.     Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is mainly diagnosed people who are obese or sedentary and those who eat a processed diet with high fats and sugar or due to diabetes.
Before we know the symptoms and factors, we will talk about the causes of fatty liver.
WHAT CAUSES FATTY LIVER
Let us tell you some of the main reasons, which work to promote the problem of fatty liver. We will try to understand these reasons through a few points.
Alcohol Consumption- Consuming too much alcohol also causes fatty liver problems. If it is not controlled in time, then the possibility of liver malfunction becomes strong.
Extra Calories - Excess of dietary calories in food makes fat in the liver. This excess of fat in the liver gives rise to the problem of fatty liver. Losing 10 percent of the bodyweight is found to improve the condition of fatty liver.
Lack Of Liver Function - This is the most important reason for having fatty liver. When the liver process is affected for some reason, it is unable to carry out the process of breaking down fat. As a result, excess fat accumulation occurs in the liver. This causes fatty liver problems.
Specific Diseases - Diabetes and high-triglycerides (a type of fat found in the blood) cause increased liver-related risks. Fatty liver condition is linked to diabetes, insulin resistance, and high levels of blood fats. In these conditions, the possibility of fatty liver is highly potent. As per a study (2009), approximately 70% of people with type-2 diabetes might have fatty liver and the disease may increase more aggressively for diabetes patients.
Obesity - Fatty Liver Disease often found to occur in people who are obese or overweight. A person with central obesity that collects fat around the belly is more prone to develop non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Rapid Weight Loss - Many people get invited to the problem of fatty liver in the process of rapid weight loss. The reason is that the liver plays a major role in the digestive process. In the event of not getting the required diet, the liver process is affected. Consequently, the diet taken directly accumulates in the liver as fat.
Note - In some people, the fatty liver problems can be found even if there is no reason given above.
DIAGNOSIS OF FATTY LIVER
Diagnosing fatty liver is not easy. The reason is that no symptoms of fatty liver are seen in the initial days. Yes, it is possible that you go to the doctor for a problem and after seeing that problem, the doctor suspects that you are troubled by the problem of fatty liver. He can get some tests done to confirm this. Let us consider all the tests for the diagnosis of fatty liver in order.
Details study of Medical History.
Blood test for liver enzymes can detect fatty liver. Elevated levels of liver enzymes (ALT and AST) in the blood is the marker of fatty liver.
Diagnostic imaging test; Ultrasound of the abdomen, CT scan, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) gives the more precise information about fatty liver disease.
Examination of liver fat content and stiffness.
Various tests, including biopsy, to confirm when the suspicion is deepened.
In case of confirmation, questions related to alcohol consumption to determine whether the disease is alcoholic fatty liver or non-alcoholic fatty liver.
If you are already taking any medicine regularly then you inform it to know whether a particular medicine is causing this disease.
A physical examination will test weight and height to know whether obesity is the reason for this disease.
SYMPTOMS OF FATTY LIVER
You have already been told in the article that fatty liver problems are very common. Therefore, in the initial days, no symptoms are seen. When symptoms of fatty liver are seen, it is too late. Experts believe that non-alcoholic fatty liver disease can cause liver damage without symptoms for many years or decades. Symptoms related to this are seen only when the problem is exaggerated. They can be identified as.
Discomfort in the upper abdomen- Feeling discomfort or pain in the upper right side of the abdomen is most common and one of the initial symptoms of fatty liver.
Fatigue - One of the symptoms of fatty liver is that it makes the patient feel more tired. The reason is that due to this problem, there is a lack of energy in the patient.
Weight loss - Fatty liver affects the digestive process. Due to this, there is a lack of essential nutrients in the body. As a result, the patient's weight begins to drop rapidly as a symptom of fatty liver.
Stomach problems - Fatty liver problems act as a barrier to the digestive process. Due to this, many stomach problems can be seen in the patient.
Weakness - The person suffering from the fatty liver keeps feeling weak all the time due to lack of proper amount of nutrients.
Experiencing confusion - Symptoms of fatty liver can sometimes result in confusion in a patient suffering from this disease.
RISK FACTORS OF FATTY LIVER
There are several types of fatty liver risk factors. Correct information and due care can prevent the fatty liver from growing to a great extent. Let us look at these factors.
Obesity - Obesity can pose a major risk to fatty liver. According to experts, increasing obesity can make this problem even more serious.
Diabetes - Both fatty liver and diabetes are linked to each other. In many cases, fatty liver causes an overdose of sugar in the blood. At the same time, diabetes problems can also increase the risk of fatty liver.

PSA: Birth Control Pills
So I've debated for a while about posting this, I didn't want to seem like I was attention seeking, but I feel like more people need to know about this because it could save someone's life.
About 8 months ago I went to the doctor for a routine check up, he noticed in my bloodwork that my liver enzymes were elevated. Now this was only my second time seeing this doctor, I had been going to walk-in clinics for years and decided I needed an actual primary care physician. He opted to get an ultrasound of my liver, just to check it out and make sure everything was okay. They did the ultrasound and a few days later I got a call saying they wanted to do an MRI, to get a clearer picture. I've never had an MRI so I was already panicking and let me tell you, those things heightened my claustrophobia even more.
About 2 days after my MRI I get a call telling me I need to come in and see the doctor that next day, now I wasn't supposed to see him for 3 months, so obviously I was worried. They also tell me to immediately stop taking my birth control pills, which is weird and only freaks me out more.
Once I'm there and my anxiety is through the roof. The doctor proceeds to read the radiologist report which goes like this:
Innumerable masses on the liver, one measures at about 8.2 centimeters, one at 5 centimeters, and several others measuring at 2 centimeters or smaller.
INNUMERABLE sticks out to me, so I ask the doctor. He says there are literally so many that they couldn't count them all. So I go into shock mode and I'm calm and like, "so what does that mean?" He says he believes they might be hepatic adenomas, but he isn't sure. He says if they're over 5 centimeters they have the risk of rupturing or turning cancerous. So now I'm thinking I have this ticking time bomb inside me and no idea what to do.
I then proceed to see a GI specialist who was an idiot and said "we usually don't recommend surgery unless the tumors are over 5 centimeters." To which I said "if you read my chart, my largest one is 8." Everything changes after that.
I'm sent to an oncologist because my white blood cell count was high, then I'm sent to a Hepatologist (liver doctor). At this point I've been off the birth control for about 2 months. So he does another ultrasound, luckily the tumors have started to shrink, but slowly. He tells me these tumors happen rarely but are usually caused by a hormonal birth control pill. He then tells me I can NEVER take any hormones in my lifetime because the tumors will start to grow again. That means no hormonal implants, no birth control pills, no injection birth control, nothing. He also tells me pregnancy is out of the question because the hormones would again, make the tumors grow. He tells me to come back in 3 months and check again.
3 months later and they've stopped shrinking. The biggest ones are holding steady at 6.5 centimeters and 5.4. He tells me I need to start preparing to have surgery, so they send me for a biopsy to make sure they're not cancerous. Everything comes back negative, so then I'm set up with a surgeon. It's been about 6 months since my last MRI so he sends me for a CT the week before surgery.
The scans come back that the tumors have shrunk even more, the largest is now 4.8 and the other is about 2.3 centimeters. He says he doesn't see a need for surgery right now and to wait for 3 months and have another CT to see where we're at then.
My CT is tomorrow, I'm anxious and worried, but im holding out hope. I've never had surgery and I can't take that much time off work.
But the point of this was to say I had been on the pill for 10 years. I saw my OB/GYN regularly. NOT one time was I warned about this possibility. NOT one time did anyone ever check my liver, I have no idea how long these tumors had been growing, the entire time I've been walking around with them, growing, on the brink of rupturing at any moment.
This needs to be known, women need to know these risks. If it hadn't been caught when it was I would've continued on and the tumors would have continued to grow, threatening my life every day.
Please talk to your doctors! Now the reason they found mine were because of my liver enzymes being elevated, but they were only elevated because I also have a fatty liver (something I also found out recently). The liver doctor said the tumors wouldn't have raised my liver enzymes so they wouldn't have found them without the ultrasound.
Please share this or send it to people you know are on hormonal birth control.
