#what if it was sally? au

My mind has been plagued with this au so now I'm making it everyone else's problem as well :)

This time I started thinking more about the main cast and how this au would actually look like in a "sonic" game. Took inspiration from a few of my favorite games to have missions be separated into 2 parts, a high speed intro where you're trying to get to your destination (KIU style), and then the rest is a side scroll puzzle oriented crawl (Think metroid but with much less backtracking to keep the pace fast).

So Sally is like an alien in a literal sense, she is a star afterall so she is beyond the sky amd such. She landed on earth when she was young, like think very small and harmless, and was found by some people. Immediately gets taken into Ambrol city and revered as a god. As Sal grew older, her flames grew as well and at some point she could not control it so she accidentally burned her hometown down to the ground. Bummer.

Robbie looks like he could give the best mf hugs I’m ngl— but at the same time he seems like the type to squeeze you so hard that you can’t breathe WBSBDBDB at least Mob Robbie does (if he even gives hugs—)

Thankfully normal Robbie’s hugs aren’t nearly as back breaking as Mob Rob’s are lmAO, however the two would indeed pick up someone in a hug and proceed to do a lil spinny with em in their arms, giggling like a high school adult student in medias

DTIYS for one of my favorite Welcome home AUs, honestly I adore everything about it. I feel really bummed cause I had to rush this one to work on my personal AU, so when I'm done with that I'll probably be making a shit ton of wh AU fanarts lol

Quick fiona doodles to help flesh out her role in the au. Was trying to limit how many archie characters I want to bring back since the au is centered around the mainline canon, but I felt that fiona could be a cool anti-hero turned antagonist who would be one of Sally's main rivals.

The gist of her backstory would be that she was separated from the freedom fighters during a mission, and was assumed dead (collapsed building, fire...). Sally would decline to send anyone in to look for her since it would endanger more lives, and it looked like a very bleak situation for Fiona to survive. Fiona resents Sally for this and goes back to her bounty hunting days, this time targeting Sally and the FF for abandoning her.

She remains one of Sally's biggest regrets for not trying hard enough to find her. Fiona eventually cools her vengeance against Sally, but still doesn't have any interest in rejoining the FF.

Sally Jackson deserves everything good in the world I’d honestly risk it all for her.

Her talks with Percy in the flashbacks and how young Percy thinks she wants to get rid of him and that obviously breaks Sally’s heart because it couldn’t be further from the truth but she’s a single mother struggling to keep her son safe in a world where so many things are out to get him just because of who his family is. She couldn’t tell Percy why the things she did for them were so important but it is so difficult to keep that secret.

Also her scene with Poseidon is so heartbreaking but so good too because they had good chemistry even without looking at each other. The fact that there was thunder after Poseidon glanced at Percy after Sally asked if he’d like to meet him is so cool and the heartbreak that he clearly feels at not being able to see or be with Percy is so sad.

this is probably one of my favorite outfits that i've ever put together! and it's all for one of my top five fav character designs, like... Ever!

rambles:

i would like to note that my dear beloved Jaime (@/awkwardalphajay here on our very own hellsite<3 check em out <3) helped out a Ton by sending inspiration photos and providing insightful commentary on details and vibes!

overall i wanted Sally to have fancy vibes! while i was originally going to have her fit very much based on her canon one, i wound up veering off course and - while still keeping some elements - mostly went for Medieval Entertainer and Her House insp! continuing with the day/night theme, and leaning heavily into the fire aspect - she's a literal star fallen to earth, after all!

it was suggested that she should have dragonscale used in the making of her clothes since she's, you know, kind of made of fire! and it was genius! I imagine she has extra fire charms on this fit and also the rest of her clothes, since dragonscale is hard to come by and is a finite resource once Gathered. she gets better at Not burning everything she wears over time, thankfully!

i think that, like Frank, she'd have One (1) Dagger. for emergencies! it's likely very ornate, and she'd hate to scuff up the gleaming blade. Probably. plus, why would she need it? she's got firepower, babey!

there isn't quite as much to say about this as usual... mostly because this one was more Vibes than strategic "ok this and this and this because this and also-" i was just! makin a fun outfit!
