So I'm being reported...?
I came back from a 2 hour PET scan to find I'm being mass reported for "hating JK" and "spreading mis-info."
Let me just tell you something right now. I don't state things willy-nilly; I do my best to find credible sources. This is the best source I can find on the rules around combined streams:
Spotify can link the tracks if there are matches to audio fingerprinting, artist names, track names, and ISRC codes.. [...] Tracks that are linked will subsequently share a play count.
Source:
So as far as I can tell, Seven tracks that share an ISRC are being combined in counts on Spotify. However, if anyone gets better info from Spotify, PLEASE let me know and I will of course update and work to spread the new info!
And, look, I may not be going berserk like I did for Face, but I stream, buy, and vote for Jungkook and all the tannies--of course JK and Taehyung, too. It's what Jimin would want, and it's what I feel is right.
I'm OT7; I will never hate on any of our boys. I hope my character and my actions always speak for themselves, but if I lose my Twitter account--which I also use to vote for all 7 for awards, by the way--perhaps that's a sign from the universe that the environment there is too toxic to stay anyway.
No matter what happens, I'll still be supporting BTS to the best of my ability.
Love, Roo

Every time LDS kids come to my neighborhood I am so so nice to them. I hope they remember the blue haired lady who was kind, when people try to convince them the outside world is bad and scary. (Also they are always so young! I want to feed them cookies and give them Diana Wynne Jones books or something)
Thank you! Honestly, this sort of kindness can go a really long way, even if it doesn't seem like it at the time.
LDS children and missionaries (and the majority of the latter are barely of age) are often the people who interact the most with non-Mormons on a daily basis, and thus are kind of the "face" of the Church to non-Mormons a lot of the time. As a result, they're frequently the ones who actually experience the brunt of antagonism towards the Church, which only reinforces the distrust they've already been taught to feel towards the rest of the world.
It's not that the Church doesn't deserve this antagonism, but a lot of people seem to take this enormous pride in showing up Mormon teenagers who have spent most of their lives under intense social pressure, instruction, expectation, and close observation from both their peers and from older authorities in the Church (it largely operates on seniority, so young unmarried people in particular tend to have very little power within its hierarchies). Being "owned" for clout by non-Mormons doesn't prove anything to most of them except that their leaders and parents are right and they can't trust people outside the Church.
The fact that the Church usually does provide a tightly-knit community, a distinct and familiar culture, and a well-developed infrastructure for supporting its members' needs as long as they do [xyz] means that there can be very concrete benefits to staying in the Church, staying closeted, whatever. So if, additionally, a Mormon kid has every reason to think that nobody outside the Church is going to extend compassion or kindness towards them, that the rest of the world really is as hostile and dangerous as they've been told, the stakes for leaving are all the higher, despite the costs of staying.
So people from "outside" who disrupt this narrative of a hostile, threatening world that cannot conceivably understand their experiences or perspectives can be really important. It's important for them to know that there are communities and reliable support systems outside the Church, that leaving the Church does not have to mean being a pariah in every context, that there are concrete resources outside the Church, that compassion and decency in ordinary day-to-day life is not the province of any particular religion or sect and can be found anywhere. This kind of information can be really important evidence for people to have when they are deciding how much they're willing to risk losing.
So yeah, all of this is to say that you're doing a good thing that may well provide a lifeline for very vulnerable people, even if you don't personally see results at the time.

hey do you guys remember when nbc cancelled hannibal after three seasons even though the creator said he had a seven season plan and due to circumstances no other network could/would pick it up but the fandom continued to thrive and due to their continued support and the love the creative team still has for the project there's still talk about a season 4 revival almost ten years later?
anyway just something to think about

i was hoping to make a post like this under happier circumstances, but here goes.
as some of you know, everything with the cancellation and renewal campaign has happened right on top of the worst part of my mom's cancer treatment (plus the show was cancelled on my actual birthday 💀). i won't go into details, but it's been tough. lots of ups and downs, mostly downs, luckily ending (for now) on as much of an up as circumstances allow. the whole thing has been weirdly tied to the cancellation for me, kind of amplifying every feeling. the grief got mixed up, and there was so much of it - mourning the loss of the kind of future i thought i'd have with my mother and the time we might not get, mourning the end of a show that means so much to me and is such a big part of my life. different types of grief, sure, and of different magnitudes, but in one big ugly swirl. i sort of had a breakdown right at the start of february, and it was because of news about my mom, but it morphed into my brain telling me everything i'd ever written was shit and wanting to delete it all. stuff like that, spilling over.
anyway. i was holding off on writing this post to see if the show got picked up by someone else. but i still want to say it. because what also spilled over was the support and community from this fandom, and being in this space (despite the rough times and high emotions) helped me through it, because of all of you here. whether we talk regularly, or you left a comforting reply or simply a like on one of my posts about having a hard time (i tried to keep them few), or wrote a nice comment on a fic, or said something funny or nice or insightful in the tags of a gifset, or was active here (or on twt) in any way, talking/sharing/creating stuff about the show - THANK YOU.
you all helped me through all the ups and downs, and i am so grateful. thank you for being here, listening, distracting, helping me feel some joy despite the horrors. i love you and i love this incredible show and all it has brought and will continue to bring and inspire, and although it should go without saying, i'm not going anywhere. just do me a favor and give yourself a big ol' hug from me, and know that you made a difference for some random guy on the internet (but in reality for many more, and for this fandom as a whole, just by being here and being you) 💕

Maybe it’s because I usually get into fandoms about 3-300 years after they’re socially relevant, but I’m honestly surprised that people are afraid that this one will die with cancellation.
Like, I’m literally stuck here against my will. I think they might have embedded some sort of curse? Buttons hexed me, maybe. Probably. Needless to say, I could not leave this fandom if I tried. Any attempt I make to kill it will just have me sobbing in its bathtub making increasingly inscrutable references to doggy heaven.
Fandoms cannot die, because we put our hearts and souls into them; and as anything requiring one to sacrifice parts of your soul, they hence become immortal. It’s just how it works. I promise—even if it gets a bit quieter, it’s absolutely not going anywhere. It literally can’t. Even when you think you’re gone, it will find you in 7 years when you’re spreading marmalade on your toast and think to yourself, “ah. remember that weird show that got me into marmalade? wonder how that’s doing” and then get whiplash as a quick search yields the most hyper-specific yaoi art you’ve ever seen in your life and then BAM. You’re back, like you never left.
It’s the curse, I’m telling you.

Today I was talking in therapy and I mentioned tumblr and I was like “do you know what tumblr is?” And my therapist laughed, nodded, said yes, and in that moment I saw the war flashbacks in her eyes that only a tumblr veteran familiar with tumblr would have

Rhaenicent is a ship that has been discussed by actors, show runners, it’s visible in the script, they’re together on every art. The story revolves around them in the way you can’t separate them. They think about one another, even if they are aparat they’re connected. Lots of potential
Shuggy is ship between one character who is as neutral to the other as it gets. Its history was a gag for 90% of the story and it got small content from again only the obsessive guy. No one cares for them that much, they are not discussed even as a friends anywhere, they’re one of the least popular ship for shanks. Potential? Crocbug and mishanks has more and they’re not even that in the text
Don’t compare actual valid wlw ship to fans being delusional about brothers
Have you tried minding your own business instead of being rude on the internet to someone who's just comparing ship dynamics? 💀 I'm not even going to discuss this because your tone is madly disrespectful, but even if it wasn't, sending this to someone who clearly enjoys both ships just because you don't like one of them is straight-up mean.

Ngl it's weird finishing the Knuckles tv show and going to tumblr about it only for people (even who I consider bigger name fans) who also watched the entire show to claim that it "confirmed Knuckles Wachowski"
Like
I'm sorry
Did you somehow miss the part in the last episode where Knuckles had a whole montage of hanging with the Whipple family and Wade and saying "home" or something?

IMO the worst thing you can do with your character is make him a butt-monkey and then making him just a prick just to justify the beatings.
(yeah because Eddy in earlier seasons was already the writters' punching bag before starts his downward spiral in season 3).
off the top of my head i can't think of any examples before s3 where eddy is getting gratuitously walloped, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. yeah he always loses in the end, but people root for the underdog, etc. if things ever worked out for him there wouldn't be much of a show.
but yeah i just kind of take it for what it is i guess. i don't really care for eddy torture but come on, sometimes it's funny. and justified. i watched a few s3 episodes recently, namely brother can you spare an ed/the day the ed stood still, and jesus christ he really is a little fucking demon. his difficult personality is on display from the get-go and definitely intensifies as the show goes on. i don't know what the writers' intentions were but it makes sense to me that his unhinged behavior escalates all the way up to the end of bps when he finally gets his reality check.

Feelings.... Ughghugh...
I've watched it twice now fully through. First time you tend to miss things. Second time I watched a little closer. Now I'm sorta jumping around.
Ughguhg... Grimmons Feels under the cut~ Spoilers to High Hell and Back and tagged as such!
While we got a lot of comedic and funny moments with the boys, and some touching moments as well, and also just some sick animations, we did get this:
I'm not sure what song this is that plays at this moment - I know it's been repeated through the show a number of times (I thought for a moment it was Hate Glue but it's not, but I DO think it's been used specifically for these two... It was also the last song during the credits)
That, to me, was everything. That flat out felt like a confession. Maybe others could read it as just being like 'You're my BFF let's both gtfo.' But the way it was delivered; especially knowing Simmon's knew how much that meant for Grif.
And as Grif goes on his little rant, Simmon's response isn't 'No', or 'I can't', it's that he wants to help Caboose with this threat because he cares about Caboose, and what Sarge had wanted for them. Which in turn convinced Grif to also stay for this Last Bastion deal.
They were both aware they could die during this fight.
Then their last scenes:
Vale Deah is playing during this. I listened to it - never had before but, fuck, there's undertones in that song.
Anywho, again Grif is reaching out here, and while Simmon's is quick to say he won't go back to Earth, it felt more like their banter than an actual outright dismissal. And that 'Okay. Sure.' IS his answer to both 'Come with me' and this conversation.
Simmons still wants to make something out of himself before he can feel justified leaving.
He knows Grif's been through enough. He might, might even know about Grif's first posting, and how the man has now lived through a total of five Near-Death Experiences (Outpost, Tank, Cliff, Chorus Crash, MetaTuck)
. . . .
I give it a Year before Simmon's shows up on Grif's doorstep in Hawaii.
And that's being generous.

okay just a lil psa here, i don’t normally do this on this blog bc i’m a person who likes to keep the different facets of my personality very compartmentalized (that’s the disorder babee) and this is gonna be a long ass rant but i don’t have the palestinian flag in my pinned post for funsies.
i’m saying this bc someone i was moots w on twitter started randomly raging about “oh we’re showing those ungrateful far left palestinian foreign agitators that-“ fuck off. i’m serious. fuck all the way off. this is a genocide that has been going on for decades, that got ramped back up to extreme, horrific levels last october and palestinians refusing to endorse kamala without a more concrete plan on pushing for a ceasefire - which isn’t even the bare minimum, it’s tangoing under the fucjing bar - or protesting so that their families aren’t massacred at schools and hospitals aren’t foreign ops or agitators or picking on kamala as if people didn’t have the exact same issue with biden And Trump And obama, are not agitators or ops or whatever. and before anyone is like “do you a support a one or two state solution” i support a solution that allows the complete right of return and self determination for all palestinians across the globe and an end to the apartheid state of israel. however palestinians want that to look is what i support. i have an IDEA of what it will ultimately look like, but i support the right of palestinians to decide what happens in their ancestral home, from the river to the sea. “but what about the hostages” yeah you’re right what about the palestinian hostages big hoss???? also - indiscriminate bombing campaigns have never once actually worked to do anything but revitalize an insurgent population, and you’re dense as hell if you think what’s been happening is going to do anything but make it clearer to palestinians that their only chance of survival is through more attacks & hostage campaigns!!
you wanna call me some sort of foreign agitator when EYE am the one whose family weren’t allowed to be citizens until the 60s despite living on this continent for thousands of years, that i’m out of line for being outspoken & having a hard line on the genocide of another indigenous group?? go right ahead! hope the door bruises your ass on the way out folks! and if you agree that “genocide is bad” great you’re gonna have a bang up time following me!

how many times do we need to learn as people that irony and hyperbole can be harmful because 'jokes' aren't easily distinguished from genuine thoughts and feelings until we stop rewarding people for speaking or posting about violence
like even if you're joking/don't actually believe that/think whoever you are insulting is bad/immoral/fictional therefore deserves it - ad hominem attacks always do more harm to the people who share those characteristic then the individual you intend to cause harm to or discredit

just saw a post saying "the 'problem' is only in your heads" about people complaining about the utter saturation of exclusive shipping focus in fandom and the constant devaluation of platonic relationships that oh-so-often comes with it because "it IS platonic in canon and shipping can't change that" AS THOUGH THAT IS THE PROBLEM WE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT AND I AM GOING TO SCREAM
