Last night I received a call from an out of state number. Normally I would have ignored it, but it was at 10:30 at night so I thought it may be important. It turned out to be a man named Tom Jones who happened to be looking for a hearing aid in Dallas, Texas. I told him that I was a chiropractor in Orlando, Florida and that I didn't think I could help him. Well Tom Jones' father was a chiropractor and that he actually met Bj Palmer (the son of the man who created chiropractic) which is crazy since he died in 1961. It turns out Tom Jones is actually 92 years young. I asked him, " what's the secret to living 92 years?" He said, "keep breathing and put one foot in front of the other and you'll get there." 😂 Tom Jones also bought a 6 bedroom house so he would have room for his kids to stay with him, but he said he was alone. I asked why him why his kids didn't come visit him, did they live far away? He told me no, they lived there, in Dallas... I literally didn't know what to say to that. That actually hurt my heart when he said that. I spent over 30 minutes having a good old, heart to heart conversation with a complete stranger, whose 92 years young, lives in Dallas, Texas, and goes by the name Tom Jones. I find conversations like that extremely rare and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to calling Tom Jones back next week to check on my new friend and give him someone to talk to since his kids won't visit.
