I love everything you are doing with Orihime, if it's not too much troble, I wanted to hear more of what she does when she get kidnapped. Also did Rukia try anything when she got sentenced to death for bulshit crimes? It's been forever since I read the manga, so I don't remember what rukia was feeling exactly during this time, if she accepted the whole thing bc she has spent way too much time in the soul society that she just didn't see it how much bulshit it was or something else, or if it was just your standard damsel in distress thing
Rukia behaves in the calm, rational but firm way you'd expect out of a seated officer, especially a lieutenant that earned her position through hard work and demonstration after demonstration that she could be trusted with such a position.
...Byakuya, on the other hand, was appointed to his position by birthright as the latest scion of a long but narrow line of people who retained their power by violence as social standing. So when Byakuya experiences the psychotic crisis of "the people you respect the most want the person you love the most dead", the coinflip of his emotions lands on tails in AEIWAM.
*****
"...To Death?" She asked, staring at Renji.
"Yeah." He winced, shifting uncomfortably.
"...For a Misdemeanor Infraction that, per code 3.15.27846 sub-section 42-4, carries a MAXIMUM penalty of a month's suspension without pay while a performance review is conducted, and, pending the review, possible termination of my job, not my whole person?" She continued.
"...Um. Yeah, yeah that's the official rules per the Shingami Legal Manual." Said Renji. "It's real fuc- it's very peculiar and I'm honestly not sure what to make of it. Also, when did you learn to quote the manual like-"
"I'm a Goddamn Lieutenant, I know the law, and this stinks on ice." She glared. "I know I'm not allowed to question the orders or ask who issued them, but did you double-check that this is, in fact, what they meant to send, and didn't give you the memo for someone else or send out the wrong butterfly?"
"Um." Renji winced, pointedly studying the wall to his left. "Kuchiki-Taicho went to do that as soon as he saw the order."
Rukia blanched. "Renji. When did he leave?"
"He left for the central 46's liaison office directly from the 6th division's office when we got the order about an hour ago. I wanted to go with him, but he insisted that he could handle it and that you should get the news from me rather than a stranger."
"Abarai Renji." She spoke, voice low and dangerous. "Do you remember what happened the first day I came home from the 13th division boot camp with that shiner?'
"Yeah, Kuchiki-taicho broke into Ukitake-taicho's house with Senbonsakura at 2AM because he thought someone had hit yo-" Renji laughed then stopped. "-Oh."
"You let my brother, the absolute last person you can expect to behave in a rational and restrained manner to any perceived threats to my person, go off to visit someone who just issued an order for my extermination? UNSUPERVISED?" She growled.
Renji stood, paralyzed in wide-eyed horror. "I. uh. I gotta go prevent some treason." he sputtered, before bolting from the room.
***** "I fucked up, I fucked up, I fucked uuuuuup-" Gin hissed under his breath as he ran through the maze of buildings that made up the central government's compound. "Sure Gin! Keep feeding him spiritual power Gin! It'll fix everything Gin! No way he's going to cause a massive inter-dimensional destabilization event Gin!"
He turned the corner to the central 46's liaison office, just to the side of the sealed gate, and sprinted for the small office at the base of the tower all Hell butterflies issued from, where the Gate's security guard and the Liaison worked.
"Hey guys sorry to burst in here but it's kind of an Emergen... cy." Gin shouted and then sputtered as something warm splashed underfoot. He looked down to find that the previously-beige carpet of the Liaison's office was now a deep and unpleasantly wet crimson. Behind him, there was a faint creak as the unsealed and unguarded gate swayed lightly in the breeze.
"Oh." Gin realized, wilting. "I'm in deep shit."

Ulquiorra Cifer - SFW & NSFW Headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Note: Relationship Headcanons of Ulquiorra Cifer from Bleach. These will take place in a scenario where she fought and replaced Nnoitra as the 5th Espada long before Orihime was kidnapped. Will contain NSFW so minors please do not interact.]
SFW:
The first time you met was when you were introduced as the new 5th Espada. Ulquiorra didn't really think much of you at first besides being impressed with the fact you beat someone as battle-hungry as the now-Privaron Espada (he secretly found you attractive but he wouldn't say it out loud.) Being the polite person you were, you went up to him and tried to make conversation. In classic Ulquiorra fashion, he introduces himself as well but bluntly tells you that "Being an Espada does not allow for such futile things like companionship. I would suggest quitting while you're ahead." If only he knew how wrong those words would be.
After that incident, you decided to give yourself a challenge: befriend Ulquiorra Cifer by any means possible. The latter eventually caught on to what you were trying to do, but decided to entertain it because why not? You would continue to annoy him so might as well see where it leads to.
Over time, the Espada found himself enjoying your presence but he would rather be stuck in a room with Grimmjow before admitting that. Soon enough, a mutual companionship ensued between the two of you, one that was built on joint trust. You would look out for each other whenever there was trouble.
The longer this friendship went on, the bigger the affection grew on both ends. You and your fellow Espada had brewing feelings that threatened to spill over but neither of you were willing to confess. You were afraid of ruining the friendship you worked so hard to develop, while he didn't want to seem weak in front of the others. Or to himself.
After days of dodging and avoiding one another, you finally found the courage to confess. You asked Ulquiorra to meet you at your living quarters. He raises an eyebrow at the sudden request but agreed nonetheless. Later that night, while both of you were sitting on your bed, you took a deep breath and confessed your feelings. Once you were finished, a silence ensued, the Espada's expression remained unchanged. You sighed and got up to leave but he grabbed your hand, making you sit back down. "Where are you going? This conversation isn't finished." Words attempt to leave your mouth but he cuts you off.
"You may be an annoying pest that rattles my brain with your antics but you do so in a way that doesn't make me want to kill you." To the average person, this would sound bizarre and not-so-convincing but you knew he meant well. It may take some time to get comfortable with each other on this level, but you would be there to help him through it all.
The beginning of your relationship was pretty much the same as your friendship. Ulquiorra would still help you out and vice versa, but there was a slight difference. Whenever you spoke with other Arrancars, he would skilfully hide near a corner to keep an eye on you. If the person happened to be Grimmjow, Ulquiorra would stand behind you while staring him down. He isn't exactly fond of the Pantera.
While your stoic lover wasn't a man of words, he did show his care for you through acts of service. Whenever you got injured, he would berate you for being a reckless numb skull while escorting you to the medical bay within Las Noches. This type of love language also occurred in private. Dealing with idiots and Soul Reapers would result in rant sessions of the day's events.
When it came to physical affection, Ulquiorra surprisingly initiated it. Despite his closed off nature, he was curious about things like kissing, holding hands, etc., since he sees humans do it all the time. In the privacy of your shared bedroom, he would suddenly wrap an arm around your shoulder and hold you close.
"In the World of the Living, humans do this to show fondness to one another."
He also did the same thing with your first kiss. You could tell he was a bit inexperienced but it still took your breath away in the best way possible.
NSFW:
In my honest opinion, I feel that Ulquiorra would be a teeny bit clueless when it comes to being intimate. He would know what to do but definitely needed some guidance on when to be gentle or rough. Which is how your first night went down.
Pale hands gripped your waist, his lips moving in sync with your own. As you and Ulquiorra made out, he began to kiss down your neck, softly biting at your sweet spot. You moan and wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him closer to you. After a few seconds, he starts to tug at your clothing, getting a little rough. You gasp out of surprise, stopping him.
"Am I doing something wrong? This is how it's done, no?"
You explain to the Espada that he was doing everything right but in order for the mood to be set, he had to take it slow and gentle. You had some experience, but you wanted this to be special since it is your first real relationship. You cup his face and tell him that you'll happily guide him along the way. You were willing to be patient with him.
Some time later, Ulquiorra finds himself above you, both of your tops already discarded on the floor. The Arrancar unclips your bra and removes it, immediately latching onto your breasts, licking and sucking on your nipples. Whines of his name urges him to up his efforts, your lover kissing his way down your tummy. The teal-eyed male pauses his movements, staring up at you for permission to continue.
"May I continue with my advances?"
With a nod of your head, Ulquiorra grabs the rim of your pants and underwear, the scent of your arousal filling his senses. He couldn't help but stare at your pussy, his mouth watering at the sight of it glistening. Deciding to longer waste time, he proceeds to dig in, devouring his long awaited meal. Your boyfriend may have been a little sloppy at giving head but that didn't stop you from moaning his name and begging him to fuck you silly.
After seeing (and tasting) that you were ready to receive his cock, he detaches his mouth from your cunt, your juices coating his chin. The Arrancar steps back from the bed and removes the rest of his clothing, showcasing his lean figure. You had to admit......he was quite "packed" as some human women like to say apparently. You weren't too sure if he would even fit. He could probably reach your cervix.
And that's exactly what he did. His cock was six inches when flaccid but a good eight when erect. Not to mention he was a bit on the girthy side. You may have been his first sexual partner but he treated your pussy like he knew it all his life. He managed to hit every spot that made you scream, beg and cry.
Whenever ya'll get it on, he'll spend hours just looking at your cunt. He's just fascinated with the way it clenches around his fingers and gushes on his dick when he takes you from behind, front, sideways. Any way really.
"I-i must admit....your -fucking hell- your pussy fascinates me. No matter how many times we do this, you manage to -shit- be so tight...."
[And I'm finally finished with these! I went overboard with these headcanons but I just like Ulquiorra alot lol. These are my first set that I've done so I hope did him justice ^^']

Delyth Ophelia objects to Aizen’s idea of kidnapping Orihime, because it’s so obvious to them that this child is not a threat to the Espada (or Arrancar), and it would just come and bite them in the ass because quote: “This Kurosaki boy will come after us. He and his friends would tear down the world if it meant finding her. It will be your arrogance that gets us all killed, and paradise will never be attained. Is abducting a human girl, let alone one of Kurosaki’s friends really worth such a risk?”
Aizen just, waves away Delyth’s concerns because from his perspective the Espada have the greater advantage over the Soul Society AND Ichigo’s tag tag group of friends.
Delyth unamusedly says: “Go ahead Aizen. Do what you will, my opinion as your bodyguard will always be obsolete. But don’t come crying to me with crocodile tears when the Cavalry stampedes on our doorstep.”
They’re not exactly looking out for Orihime, rather they are more concerned with the lives of their fellow Espada and Fraccion, and fears what will happen to all of them if they lose this fight against the Soul Society. They already have built up so much respect for their fellow associates, even if this is a temporary ally ship, it means a lot to them to know that they aren’t alone.
To them abducting Orihime is a waste of time and resources, and while this opinion does soften when they see Orihime’s abilities in person, they do still believe that abducting her is going to be their undoing for all the things they’ve achieved so far. That’s what they ultimately fear, their comrades lives and losing ground on the progress of their goals.

What’s your opinion on pre-canon Renruki?
I think that they already had a romantic or almost romantic relationship back in the Academy, maybe even back in Rukongai, and the reason it wasn’t explicit is because firstly it would have spoiled the endgame couples, and secondly it’s a shonen, so it’s implied.
I think they fooled around when they were orphans in Inuzuri. They grew up together, they were always together in their “teenage” years (however adolescence works for souls😅), I think it’s not impossible that they had their first experience, if just their first kiss and make out session, with each other. When they joined the Academy, they spent less time together due to their different courses, and I think Rukia’s sad expression when Renji leaves for the mission in the real world depicts that (along with worry for him, and maybe even jealousy for his achievements compared to hers). By then I think they were quite intimate, they fooled around sometimes (with the little time they had) and knew the other’s and their own feelings, but never said anything like “I love you”, or talked seriously about the depth of their relationship. If they were “just friends”, as some antis like to claim, they wouldn’t have been so heartbroken, have so many regrets and felt so guilty during their separation. And why that separation in the first place? It’s not a matter of class difference, because Rukia did talk to people of inferior status, like her Squad mates. What’s actually forbidden to people from different classes is relationships. If Renruki was just a friendship, there would have been no problem, but their bond was beyond that. Rukia wanted Renji to tell her to stay with him, but his feelings of inferiority and belief that Rukia deserved better (maybe even better than him) prevented him to do it. Their separation doesn’t feel like an end to a friendship to me, it feels like a breakup. They avoided each other because it hurt so much, and they couldn’t bear to have any relationship other than a romantic one, which was impossible once she became a Kuchiki.
After the Soul Society arc, they got back together. They were physically too comfortable around each other to be just friends, like when he basically hugged her to encourage her to go back to Soul Society when Orihime is kidnapped (and maybe he was also comforting her), or when, during the fight with the Fullbringers, he casually placed her head resting on his thigh. By then they were secretly dating, in my opinion. In the last arc they were always together, it’s so easy imagining them as a couple.
What do you think? Is my interpretation far fetched? I’d like to hear your theories about their feelings, when they blossomed, when they confessed, if they had something going on during their Academy years…
Thank you if you decide to answer!🤍
Well, as you say, Bleach is a shounen, and also I don’t think Kubo was particularly interested in including romance in the story, so I don’t think there is a correct or incorrect interpretation. It’s left to the reader to imagine what they like. I don’t think “spoiling the endgame” has anything to do with anything.
I don’t think your interpretation is “too far-fetched,” although I don’t happen to agree with it. There’s very little to go on in canon, people can fill in the gaps in whatever way makes them happy/makes sense to them. I have exactly 0 interest in arguing with people on the internet about stuff like this. I enjoy reading fanfiction that has wildly different interpretations from my own, I generally love to hear a variety of ideas, although I generally prefer the format of a narrative over Tumblr posts (funny, since I do seem to write a lot of them).
Anyway, here are a bunch of opinions. This is way, way too long, so I'm gonna throw it under a cut.
That being said, you have some really amatonormative ideas in there that I do take issue with. Friendships absolutely can be as deep and important as romantic relationships. I categorically reject the idea that a romantic bond is stronger than a friendship one or that acts of physical affection necessarily imply a romantic relationship. I actually have no beef at all with people who want to read Rukia and Renji’s story as a very strong friendship. I do think it was still reasonable for Renji to avoid her during their separation, even if his goal wasn’t romance. He wanted to see her live a better life, and didn’t want to drag her down. Yeah, sure, if he just wanted to be a casual workplace friend, he probably could have joined Squad 13 and seen her once in a while. But, especially in the early days, it would have been a bad look for Rukia to continue socializing with people deeply below her station, and I feel in my heart that Byakuya would have forbidden her from seeing Renji if he found out she was hanging out with someone from her Inuzuri days, even if it was just casual. Yeah, there exist people who say Rukia and Renji are "just friends" for the sake of other preferred ships, but also, like, so what? Who cares? That’s a lot better than making Renji out to be a bad person or trashing his character. To be honest, I am generally happy to read a fanfic that had some other Renji or Rukia pairing if it actually contained some solid Renruki best friend content (I have found a few 369 fics that do this, and maybe also in the little bit of RenIchi content I have read, so, uh, good job, my gays. This is sometimes touched on in ByaRen fics, but usually not as much as I want, althought I also tend to hold these to a high bar, because if I have to deal with Byakuya in my fanfics, they should have to deal with the Rukia-Renji friendship 😂)
Anyway, you asked for my interpretation, so here it is . These are all just, like, my opinions, man:
Life in Inuzuri just really, really, really sucks, and Rukia and Renji both have a lot of trauma and emotional hang-ups from that time. I think they forged a deep emotional connection during this time that was probably a little too codependent to actually be healthy. They had no models of healthy families or relationships. I also think they were incredibly close to Fujimaru, Kosaburou, and Mameji, and that even if they wanted to have a romantic relationship, they wouldn’t have, at the risk of ruining the more important bonds of the larger group.
In my fanfic, in their last days in Inuzuri, I do have them fool around for a brief period. It coincides with the deterioration of the bond with their last surviving friend, leading to his death. I did this for trauma reasons, because that’s how writers are.
“Communication” is probably the most important theme in my writing, and a thing I bring up all the time is that young Rukia and Renji had a thousand ways of communicating survival-based things between each other, and 0 ways of communicating how they felt about each other.
I did a post on this recently, but their whole gang was incredibly powerless in Inuzuri. They lived on the fringes of society and stole scraps to survive. I think that their number one duty to one another was to survive. In the anime, Rukia swears that she will never leave Inuzuri, that she will always stay with her friends. I think the reason she does an about-face is not just because their friends are gone, but because she realizes that she will lose Renji next, and the only way to prevent that is for both of them to get stronger. Neither of them actually wants to become a soul reaper. They do it for each other.
I think that Renji would have remained in Inuzuri and tried to make a life as best they could, but Rukia knew this was futile, and where Rukia goes, Renji follows.
I think they purposely maintained distance at the Academy. Just as in Inuzuri, their primary duty to one another is to survive and thrive. They were rejected and mocked for their low origins, and hanging out together would have made this worse. I think it hurt Rukia that Renji made new friends, but on the other hand, they were exactly the sort of people who would help him get a leg up in the Gotei. Rukia’s Academy days were very painful because she saw Renji succeeding, just as she wanted, but leaving her behind in the process. Conversely, Renji got super focused on doing well, with the idea that he could pull Rukia up behind him, except for the part where he never actually told her that.
I feel like I’m in the minority here, but so much fanfic focuses on Rukia and/or Renji being “wrong” in the scene where he tells her to go to the Kuchiki, but I disagree! Everything they have done is in order to get to a better life! It is Renji’s duty to encourage her to leave him behind. He doesn’t want to be an anchor holding her down. Likewise, Rukia knows that if she doesn’t go, she’s just gonna be a burden on him. Their relationship has always been about each of them surviving separately over having happiness together. Up to now, they’ve always managed to find each other again, although this kinda looks like it might be it for them. Do these kids need to go to therapy? Yes! Did they do anything wrong? No!
I think about this a lot, but even if Rukia had turned down the adoption (which… I’m not actually sure she could have), even the offer would have ruined their relationship. Imagine that Renji asks her to stay, and she does. Maybe they even get together at this point. Every rough patch, every time there’s money troubles, this spectre of “Rukia could have been a Kuchiki” is going to hang over them. In fiction, there is often an idea of sacrifice being a one-time romantic gesture, but in my real life experience, this sort of thing hangs around like an unwanted ghost. I can, in fact, envision a scenario where this is exactly how Aizen manages to get his hooks in Renji, by offering Rukia an unseated spot in Squad 5, even though she “isn’t really good enough to deserve it” and “taking care of them.”
I am really fascinated with Rukia’s crush on Kaien/Miyako. Bold proclamation here, but I think there is something developmentally healthy about young people having crushes on the older people in their lives, provided that said older people treat them with respect and dignity and don’t take advantage of it in any way. Crushes are, by their nature of being unreciprocated, a safe way for young folks to imagine the sort of people and relationships they want to have in their lives. I headcanon Rukia as bisexual, and maybe also a little bit genderfluid, and she had these two extremely cool people in her life, whom she maybe wanted to be and maybe wanted to kiss and maybe to have a marriage like that some day. I… like to think that their role in her life healed some of her trauma before their death caused even more.
Fully into headcanons now, but I like to think that Renji had a parallel experience, with, of all people, Ikkaku and Yumichika. Like him, they came from the ass-end of Rukongai, but they stuck together instead of bowing to the social mores of the Seireitei. It is critical to note that they were able to do this through strength. This is literally not a thing that Renji and Rukia could have done, but at the same time, Renji sees this as the kind of relationship he wants to have with a partner. He doesn’t want to look after Rukia and protect her, he wants to fight back-to-back with her and then make out afterwards. He’s still convinced that he needs to go through the proper class channels to see Rukia again, but without their influence, I don’t think he ever would have been able to say “fuck it” and turn on his captain during the Soul Society Arc.
Meeting Ichigo and dealing with his unreasonable need to protect everyone he cares about, personally, was also a huge blow to Rukia and Renji’s “I cannot allow the other person to take any risks for my sake” hang-up. Ichigo has his own traumas, which are entirely different from Renruki’s, but the one thing he had was growing up in a loving family. (Isshin has his problems, but I feel strongly that he always made his kids feel like his love was unconditional). I’m not saying that making friends with a shounen protagonist is a good replacement for therapy, but it does have healing properties.
Entirely off-topic, but I feel like Ichigo is incredibly selfish in the way of Terry Pratchett’s witches: “All witches are selfish, the Queen had said. But Tiffany’s Third Thoughts said: Then turn selfishness into a weapon! Make all things yours! Make other lives and dreams and hopes yours! Protect them! Save them! Bring them into the sheepfold! Walk the gale for them! Keep away the wolf! My dreams! My brother! My family! My land! My world! How dare you try to take these things, because they are mine!
Where were we? Oh, yeah. I honestly think that it is unknowable when in canon Rukia and Renji confessed. I already covered this pretty thoroughly in this post. I hate the idea that they were secretly dating. Renji worked incredibly hard to get his post and I think that both his job and Byakuya’s respect are very important to him. I do not think he would put either of those things at risk like that, nor would Rukia want him to. I tend to prefer a slow-burn approached, and I honestly think they got together during the 17-mo timeskip at the earliest, and more likely post-canon entirely, although I think them confessing in the Royal Realm is the spiciest possible outcome, so that’s what most of my fanfic cleaves to.

listen. listen im salty as hell i am SO salty i will never STOP being salty. i hate ih and i hate people who ship ih. they’re not valid. they have NO leg to stand on!!!!!
‘oh ichigo and orihime sword and shield she wants to protect him’ listen. orihime is all talk. she is ALL TALK. when has she ONCE successfully defended ichigo when it mattered? apart from that time in the FB arc when they were TRAINING and hence had no CONSEQUENCES???? WHEN has orihime ever stepped in front of ichigo? ever actually shielded him properly and it wasn’t some throwaway panel??? WHEN??? WHEN????????
She wasnt relevant in SS arc because for the majority of the time she wasn’t with ichigo. She actively put ichigo in harm’s way in HM and begged his corpse to save her. She is shown always behind Ichigo in that arc, being physically protected. She put her shields up in front of him in the FB arc during the training, which was a cool little moment for her, but then failed to actually trust him when it mattered and put up her shield in front of someone else to deflect HIS attack. She doesn’t get a relevant moment fighting with or shielding him in tybw until the very end, and then the only comment from ichigo re: fighting with her is inoue’s shield didn’t work.
You know who does protect Ichigo? Rukia. She protects him from despair. She protects him from being swallowed up by his hollow when he’s moping at the beginning of the HM arc. She physically jumps in front of him twice. ‘I told you, i forbade you to come!!!’  Rukia doesn’t have to say, next time she’ll definitely protect ichigo! because it’s her fucking baseline state. there is no ‘next time’. she’s doing it all the time.
‘oh ichigo went to save rukia out of duty!!!’ this one doesn’t even DESERVE to get debunked bc if you missed ‘I REMEMBER WHY I WANTED TO SAVE YOU SO MUCH’ you’re literally less than bacteria, BUT, but, the irony here is that in HM, IT’S INOUE THAT ICHIGO WENT TO SAVE OUT OF DUTY. WHY DID HE WANT TO GO SAVE INOUE?
‘because inoue’s our friend.’ not even ‘my friend’. our friend. and unlike in SS arc there’s NOTHING at the end to debunk this. No heartfelt narration detailing why, exactly, he wanted to save inoue so much. In fact, throughout the entire arc, everyone keeps pressuring ichigo to admit the truth. Why is he in hueco mundo???
Ichigo answers this. ICHIGO ANSWERS THIS, NO SUBTEXT, NO READING BETWEEN THE LINES, STRAIGHT UP CANON DIALOGUE. ICHIGO IS HERE, IN HUECO MUNDO, AND I QUOTE, ‘TO FIGHT YOU, GRIMMJOW!!!’ ICHIGO IS HERE TO FIGHT GRIMMJOW.
(oh, and then he’ll take everybody, not just inoue, everybody, and get them all back safe home. but again, that’s duty. that’s what’s expected of him. What wasn’t expected of him? fighting grimmjow. But you know the fuck what? he wants to fight grimmjow. gee, i wonder why he wants so bad to fight grimmjow in particular, when the one who kidnapped orihime is ulquiorra. gee, didn’t he actually come face to face with ulquiorra and say ‘i have no reason to fight you’???? like, that’s canon dialogue too, right???? wow. i wonder why he was so hell-bent on fighting GRIMMJOW, who actually doesn’t have anything to do with inoue beside being generally on the same side as the people who kidnapped her.)
we’ve been so flabbergasted by the sheer absurdity of the statement ‘ichigo went to save rukia out of duty’ that we’ve missed the second implication that’s inherent in it - ‘and ichigo went to save orihime out of love’. but that’s bullshit. BULLSHIT. IT’S THE EXACT FUCKING OPPOSITE. AND I’M NOT MAKING THIS SHIT UP. THIS IS ALL JUST PULLING UP CANON FUCKING QUOTES. ICHIGO WENT TO SAVE ORIHIME OUT OF DUTY. ICHIGO WENT TO SAVE RUKIA OUT OF LOVE.
LISTEN. LISTEN. I do not CARE if you like IH. I don’t CARE if you think it’s cute. I don’t CARE that it’s canon. but you cannot SIT THERE, and tell me, with a clear conscience, that they were written to be endgame. you cannot. you cannOT. inoue has done NOTHING for ichigo, ever, not a SINGLE DAMN THING, and everything good in ichigo’s life came into it the moment rukia came into it. fuck off. fuck off.

My Top 10 Worst Dumbest Anime Relationships (My Opinion)
1. Inuyasha and Kagome Higurashi (Inuyasha)
Tumblr media
Kagome is nothing but a whiny, manipulative woman-child who really has to get everything her way and always has to be in the RIGHT especially when it comes to InuYasha who at some times would point out the obvious to her and instead of taking it in strides and realizing her mistake she would unfairly make him SIT with those stupid beads around his neck. Also, InuYasha at the time was going through some serious personal, emotional issues of his own and trying to face the ghosts of his past and dealing with his former lover Kikyo being resurrected against her will. Kagome always tried to make it about herself when it came to that scenario with them and was always able to get the others to feel sorry for her. So yeah, it's not only her attitude (and her uselessness) but her treatment towards InuYasha which is something else that I have come to notice when you go back to watch it again is that those two can't get along very well and they can't seem to go almost a single day or even a week without bickering with each other and most of the time it's over the same stupid stuff.
2. Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno (Naruto)
Tumblr media
I love Sasuke and after all he's been through I think he deserves better. I think I would have been okay if he ended up with Ino. It still would have been bad but atleast it's better? I don't know. I just don't like the fact that in the beginning Sasuke hated Sakura and payed no attention to her whatsoever. But all of a sudden in Boruto (It autocorrected to burrito  ) they get married. It just doesn't seem right. In Naruto The Last they showed him in the desert walking around and stuff while Naruto and Hinata were having the whole movie dedicated to their romance. It's no secret that Sakura has been in love with Sasuke for a long time. It was even a dream come true for Sakura when the two were put on the same team together, but from day one the romance between them has always been one-sided. Sasuke originally had little to no interest in Sakura. Even after she admitted her feelings in tears, Sasuke seemed to care very little about her.It continued this way even after Sasuke attempted to kill Sakura and yet despite that, the two eventually got married and had a child. Unfortunately for poor Sakura, Sasuke is a bit of a deadbeat who's rarely ever home to be around his wife or daughter. If their relationship has proven anything, it's that Sakura has the patience of a saint
3. Gray Fullbuster and Juvia Lockser (Fairy Tail)
Tumblr media
Juvia's attitude is also disgusting. During GMG, she fantasized about how good it would be if the Fairy Tail GMG Team had an injured member, that way she can be with Gray. Not funny. I didn't laugh and I didn't see anything funny. Then, Lucy did get injured at some point and she ran over and "acted" like she "could" help. Pathetic. She couldn't do anything and she acted as if she cared when she treated Lucy bad all the times that she has. Disgusting.....
4. Ichigo Kousaki and Orihime Inoue (Bleach)
Tumblr media
Her feelings were never the slightest bit disturbing. Instead, her love was shown to be unconditional and incredibly selfless, to the point that Ichigo is the one to pursue Orihime in the end without her ever having to confess first. There was no pressure or obligation there; she was never “trying” to get Ichigo to fall in love with her—he just did. Just like that. People just tried to twist her feelings into something negative because they didn’t want her to have feelings for Ichigo, because she wasn’t the girl they shipped him with.
5. Goku and Chichi (Dragon Ball)
Tumblr media
Maybe this one was doomed from the start, considering Goku thought marriage was a kind of food at first. Goku may be DBZ's most powerful warrior, but his skills as a husband and family man could use work. Goku's mind is focused solely on fighting and getting stronger, which leaves little time for things like spending time with his family or getting a job to support them. It's not that he doesn't care for them, it's more that he doesn't understand that they need him on a personal level. On the other side of things, Chichi's high expectations of Goku cause her to often lash out when she feels he's not doing his part. Between Goku's naïve, free spirit and Chichi's angry outbursts, it's clear they're just not compatible. It says something when even someone like Vegeta somehow makes it work with Bulma.
6. Kirino Kousaka and Kyousuke Kousaka (Oreimo)
Tumblr media
There's absolutely no reason why these two should even be together. Kyousuke and Kirino have no chemistry. In fact, most of their interactions are just arguments and verbal abuse. Yet somehow, even though there were many girls that surrounded Kyousuke that would make for a better romantic interest, he ultimately chooses to be with Kirino for seemingly little reason. Already it's a bad Tsundere romance, but addressing the elephant in the room makes this go from uncomfortable to extremely icky. They're also brother and sister.
7. Yuki and Yuno (Future Diary)
Tumblr media
Yuno is a token Yandere character, which means she can be sweet one second and then utterly psychopathic the next. She is obsessed with the anime's main character, Yuki. Yuki does not have the same feelings towards her but decides to manipulate her to his advantage since she is smarter and stronger than him in combat.  Due to Yuki's fear and needing Yuna to protect him; he endures being drugged and kidnapped by Yuna and her attempts to kill his friends. He even continues to follow through after discovering that she killed her own parents.
8. Natsu Dragneel and Lucy Heartfilia (Fairy Tail)
Tumblr media
Natsu and Lucy are supposed to be the two main protagonists. Now, I’m not saying that the two main protagonists can’t be together!  What I’m saying is after seeing it so much in different anime’s and manga... It just gets a little old, and kinda boring. Just because they’re the two main characters doesn’t mean they HAVE to be together. That really doesn’t make sense. Lucy has told Natsu many many many many many times to not invade her privacy. Not to touch her in certain places. And what does Natsu do? Exactly that. Every. Single. Time.Invasion of privacy, breaking and entering, unwanted touching. That is not romantic in the slightest. It’s more harassment if anything. Natsu does not respect Lucy. I see him respecting Lissanna, Erza, Juvia, Levy... But not Lucy.“Oh, but Gray has done it before!!1!2!” Yes, but he only did it once, Lucy told him not to, and he never did it again. Not only that, but Lucy yells and Lucy kicks him over and over again. You’d think it would’ve stopped the first time around. But no.You see... Lucy needs someone who is mature, someone who would respect her wishes, and someone she can handle being in a romantic relationship with... That someone’s not Natsu Dragneel. For Natsu, he needs someone who knows how to handle him, someone who understands him, and someone who accapts Natsu for who he is and doesn’t get at him for just being himself... That someone’s not Lucy Heartfillia.
9. Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga (Naruto)
Tumblr media
I hate NaruHina for a number of reasons. I hate the idea that when there is a threesome of main characters that the main guy can’t be with the main girl! The same nonsense happened in Harry Potter and it is just utterly annoying. Then there is this big idea that NaruHina and SasuSaku are "canon" when they are not. Canon is defined, usually as something that happened, is it not? That makes the ONLY Naruto canon couplings Minato/Kushina and Asuma/Kurenai.  Naruto and Hinata have nothing in common. Fans of the couple claim that she “loves” him. She even said so! *gasp* So did Sakura, and Sasuke proceeded to knock her ass out and leave Konoha forever. Have any of these fans ever read a shojo comic? How many love confessions are unrequited? Hell, even may shonen comics have many confessions of unrequited love; look at ANY harem-style comic like Love Hina or Gacha Gacha! Shonen or not, Naruto does not follow any type of formula where every confession of love, however rare, is returned.  Naruto is a strong person, but a submissive personality. At least I think so. Hinata is much to tame for him. She would not be able to curb him. He needs a girl like Sakura or Temari who is rough and has no qualms about smacking him back into place. At least when Sakura is with Naruto, she acts like herself instead of a blubbering fangirl.
10. Louise Francoise Le Blanc De La Valliere And Saito Hiraga – The Familiar Of Zero
Tumblr media
Louise and Saito are probably one of the most infamous examples of a Tsundere romance. After accidentally summoning Saito to her world from Japan, Louise makes the poor boy her familiar and proceeds to verbally and physically abuse him for any little thing.
Even though he's very clearly a human, Louise treats Saito more like an animal. Eventually, the two begin a relationship, even though nothing really changes in their relationship. Why they decide to stay together is a complete mystery, since their relationship feels both disingenuous and neither side does anything to earn the other's affection.

I feel a need to like. Actually do a formal look into and write up on why I feel it is important to look at the aesthetic design of Soul Society from a thematic or and character arc stand point, as opposed to a “lol does the worldbuilding make factual sense as a collective afterlife?” sense. For this project I will need to gather. Images of the comic. It’d probably help to gather images of the real world things that Soul Society’s aesthetic is based off too, and timeframes for when those things were made and worn.
Important points of interest with this...Byakuya’s story I think might be one of the clearest in this regard. Since he is related heavily to the central RUKIA IS GOING TO FUCKING DIE conflict, and his role in that is very much based around his need to adhere to strict traditionalism versus his emotional needs. Which creates a nice tight little package I feel like. This does apply to like. The arc and its cast as a whole, I feel, but Byakuya is just extremely apt due to his position in the RUKIA IS GOING TO FUCKING DIE bit of things.
Another thing of note is what I feel may be the significance of Ichigo’s outfit change when he finally figures out his zanpakuto (except not really because THINGS AND STUFF AND FURTHER PLOT NONSENSE). Since he starts out with like a very traditional outfit for a Soul Reaper, albeit a very strange sword, and he then ends up with an outfit that is still very clearly Soul Reaper influenced but is like...Stylish chic modern outfit fashion baby work it version of the outfit. Especially the shirt. A sexy, sexy blend that is very Ichigo and very cool. Which is important for like. Both Ichigo’s character development but also the general traditionalism versus the rejection thereof thematic of the Soul Society arc. Especially in how Ichigo manages affect and influence those around him.
There is an obvious need to mention the outfits that Orihime, Ishida, and Chad bring in. Because that I think is one of the most clear indicators of what the sides in the debate are. Because you have like, on the one hand, this very old school aesthetic with loving attention given to waraji and closeups on people’s feet so we can see just how on point his art of them is. And then you’ve got like. 2000′s ass Japanese fashion showing up to be like Hello Yes We Are Trendy Teens Interested In Rejecting This Fuckery.
The aesthetics of the Rukongai also need looking at. Especially in contrast with the clothing worn by those in the Seireitei. Since that divide helps emphasize the fuck out of like. The strict hierarchical structures of a more conservative Japan by like showing off this very fantastical take on like. The divide between commoners and the samurai nobles.
I am currently reading my way through the Arrancar arc right now and I do want to finish my readthrough as a whole before ANY. Sort of going back. So there is a lot of reading to do still since I am not even. Halfway done. But thinky thoughts of things to make into projects possibly...
Speaking of the Arrancar arc. That is also something I want to write about the aesthetics of and how it shows off the thematics and character dynamics. Like just the way Aizen is framed in his environments compared to the Espada is, alone, a thing worthy of A Paper. There is a lot going on that one series of pages where he’s sitting on his throne while talking about shit. The first big show of that location. Which is a really cool thing since it helps say things about like...how this arc deals with nihilism, the strict power dynamic between Aizen and the Arrancars, Aizen’s role in the story and his being the bad guy...It’s just a really cool series of pages and I go back to look at it at times because it’s very loaded and just so much that is important to the arc is conveyed entirely visually during that scene.
I also feel like Orihime’s role in the arc is often just kind of neglected by critiques of the arc that are focused on how it is structurally a mirror of Soul Society. Specifically the contrast between her and Ulquiorra I feel is very important. And how things like how Ulquiorra is even designed to look as a character and how he is framed against Orihime says...A lot? About like what her thematic weight here is and what Orihime is even actually doing in the narrative. Because she is doing more than sitting there to be a plot device that is saved. And that’s something I find interesting about the Rukia and Orihime as captives structures. Their positions as captives and how they react to that and how the world reacts to that shows off like. The big thematic cores of the arcs in question and those themes are where the differences in the arcs lay. It’s why I can look at Soul Society and Arrancar and go “These aren’t just the same story”.
In general I have feelings about how the Arrancar arc is written off as just a poor clone of the Soul Society arc. And another avenue to think on besides just like the visual aesthetics of Kubo’s comic is also like...What does it mean that he mirrored them that way? Like we can go through it and be like “A girl is kidnapped, we have to go to a new alien place, we go through fights with increasingly ridiculous general captain whatevers, we manage to get through to a raging fight man, one of the characters turns out to actually be a sexy lady...” about it and yes. That is a point. They are structurally very, very similar even if they are very different thematically. So what does that mean? How does that work with the thematics of Bleach and how those are shown off overall? Because I think “It means Kubo is a lazy artist and Bleach is bad after Soul Society” is a boring, unconvincing argument and I need to able to articulate in a variety of ways why I feel that way.
This has gotten long and rambly and off point from the original topic. But I guess I just have a lot of feelings about this goofy ass comic and like. I want to know why Bleach makes me feel the way it does. I want to be able to articulate why exactly I like Bleach. I want to pick apart this comic and find the cool shit and talk about why that shit’s cool and smart and meaningful while still being a big, dumb shonen romp.
And I just have a lot of feelings about this because like. For years I just accepted the “lol Bleach is bad after Soul Society’ narrative and didn’t fucking read the comic from where I initially fell off. Because I mean it’s 600+ chapters long and if everyone is saying it’s worse than Naruto and only One Piece was good anyway why would I read it? That is a massive time commitment and I could read like 500 distinct yuri series in that span of time. But then I went back to actually read it after hearing people who do like Bleach or at least feel it is being done a disservice by the discourse talk about it and found that like...I actually think it’s good? That it’s actually my favorite of the Big Three? That it has interesting things to say and interesting ways to say those things? I just have feelings, man.

Do you have any morals? Is there anything you absolutely would not do?
Ah, another sheep following the herd of the Soul Society, I see…
What exactly do you believe I’ve done that’s so immoral, Anonymous?
Ordering the death of Central 46, perhaps? Let me ask you this, is murder ever justified? How about Hitler? Was it all right to have sent assassins to try to kill him? He was a dully elected leader, after all. Central 46 is a group of nobles, who get their power by being born rich and privileged. Their law making practices were so haphazard, Anonymous, that NOT ONE officer of the Gotei protested (or even thought much of) the fact that Rukia’s execution date was randomly moved up (by me, as it happened, but clearly I was not acting in any way suspicious.) These people also gave a life sentence without trail to @tessaisuggestions for using Forbidden Kido. They never even cared why he did what he did… and I counted on that, frankly.
Shaving off souls to make my version of the hogyoku? I’m sure some of the people I ‘borrowed’ life force from died, however, I am not the only maker of a hogyoku. I can’t imagine that @uraharasuggestions‘s methods were much different from my own. If I am immoral, then so is he.
A few lives were lost when I unleashed the Hollows on the Academy class to test my cloaking device, but how many people does @mayurisuggestions randomly implant bombs into or otherwise experiment on? If I am immoral, so is he.
I pulled the hogyoku out of Kuchiki Rukia’s body, but I was not the one who put it there. Nor was I the one willing to sacrifice her shinigami abilities  in order to seal it permanently inside her as a human. That would be Urahara Kisuke, again.
If you find my kidnapping of Inoue Orihime to be immoral, well… I will admit that I did not expect to hold her indefinitely. I was expecting the Gotei to offer to parlay or to otherwise negotiate for her release. The original Plan™ had been to trade the woman for the oken, so that no lives needed to have been threatened, but… apparently the mind of @yamamotosuggestions remains… impenetrable to me.
Or, are you one of those who simply finds the power of Kyoka Suigetsu to be immoral? To that, I have no defense. Such is the shape of my soul. You’re right, in a way, that in order to use its power, I must violate the consent of anyone I use it on. However, it’s not as if @renjisuggestions asks nicely if Zabimaru can bite them before he releases his shikai. We are all soldiers. We do what we must to win.
Do I have morals? Is there nothing I won’t do?
Of course.
What I want is for a better world, Anonymous. There is much I would sacrifice for that. Everything I do, I do in service of that cause.
But, ask yourself this, who was my friend, my most loyal follower? A man I could not manipulate. A man who believed in justice more than anything.
Maybe you should ask yourself a different question. Why was that man on my side and not one the side of the Soul Society?

BnHA Chapter 156: Deku Potter and the Cursed Child
Previously on BnHA: Chronostasis was revealed to be holding Aizawa prisoner on some lower level of the Neverending Basement. He has sexy clock hair which he’s used to basically paralyze Aizawa for the next hour. Deku fought Overhaul for a little bit at 20% OFA and it basically did nothing. Meanwhile Mirio tried to drag Eri away to safety, but ended up collapsing due to blood loss. He told Eri to go and hide, but she wasn’t able to take the guilt of thinking she’s responsible for all this death and carnage, and she went back and told Overhaul she’d go with him if he stopped hurting everyone and fixed them all back up. Overhaul said some more bullshit things which got Deku all fired up again, and our little green hero stumbled to his feet and shouted that he’d save Eri no matter what. And then THANK FUCK, Ryuukyuu and my badass ladies Tsuyu, Ochako, and Hadou came busting in out of nowhere. I really need this girl power squad to turn the tide here because tbh, I’ve had just about enough of this.
Today on BnHA: We flash back to see how the badass lady squad battled Katsukame, the giant vitality-stealing bad guy who kept sucking energy from everyone and converting it into his own power. Just as they were finally wrapping things up, “Deku” appeared and told them that their assistance was needed in the Neverending Basement. “Deku” of course turned out to be Toga, but that doesn’t really matter since in the end she helped the heroes out. Back in the present, Deku asks Ochako to help Nighteye while he goes after Overhaul and Eri. Overhaul tries to escape through the new hole in the ceiling, and Deku leaps after him. Meanwhile we learn through more flashbacks that Eri is actually the granddaughter of the Comatose Boss, and that she was abandoned by her mother (the boss’s daughter) after her quirk manifested and she somehow vanished her father. Overhaul was assigned to look after her and eventually learned that her quirk is able to rewind time. Back in the present (again), Eri’s quirk begins to awaken, and she leaps toward Deku’s arms.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 185 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
everyone, I have an announcement. today, 1/13/19, is an auspicious day. today I am finally going to finish this arc after four long years. or maybe it’s only been a couple months. I lost track of time somewhere in the darkness. but anyways. I’m gonna do it. the binge starts... now
oooh!
Tumblr media
come to think, we never did learn her actual quirk. obviously it’s something to do with destroying other people’s quirks, because that’s what they were weaponizing her DNA for. but what exactly is it that she does?
so we’re backtracking to “a short time ago”, and Ryuukyuu and her squad have successfully taken down the villain from all the way back in chapter 138
Tumblr media
you see how they did that with no casualties? that’s cuz they’re competent. and also because they didn’t split up like fools, although for the most part that was out of the others’ control. (but them leaving Tamaki was still stupid af)
so they’re hurrying to go help the others
but something is happening??
Tumblr media
oh shit the guy wasn’t fully knocked out
he’s using his quirk to sap their energy
aaaaand he’s getting bigger and breaking free of his bonds
he’s all amped up on quirkroids just like Irinaka was. fuck
so they were stuck dealing with him for another 20 minutes! during which time two whole months passed in the labyrinth of uninteresting chapters. ugh
it looks to me like the ladies ended up having to babysit the cops
Ryuukyuu’s shouting at Hadou and OH MY GOD WE’RE FINALLY GETTING THE DETAILS OF HER QUIRKKKKK
Tumblr media Tumblr media
she should have kicked ass at the sports festival. I still don’t know why she never placed. maybe she just got disqualified for asking her opponent too many inappropriate personal questions
-- hey now what is this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m preeeeeeetty sure it’s not!
which means it’s Toga oh my god
so what is she up to?
Tumblr media
it looks for all the world like she’s actually pointing them in the right direction so they can come bail the others out before they lose to Overhaul. total betrayal of the Precepts. yes please. I fucking love it omg
also, just to remind everyone, Horikoshi is terrible at math because if this really is Toga she should have only had enough blood to turn into Deku for like three seconds. I wonder if she’ll be in a rush to get back out of there before her cover is blown
(ETA: shoutout to @temperatezone who Did The Math and calculated that Toga probably has around 35 seconds’ worth of Deku blood, so this scene is indeed plausible, if just barely! and we’ll just have to wait and see if she actually used up all the blood she has with this stunt, or if we’ll be seeing not!Deku make any future appearances.)
fuck yes the girls are wrapping this up now! with coordinated team action!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
good LORD he got big
and they’re smashing through the ground and winding up in Overhaul’s spiky rock room as we saw earlier!
could you guys also smash just one more level down and save Aizawa too, please and thanks
also Deku is there -- the real Deku -- and Ochako is like
Tumblr media
THEN WHO WAS DEKU
hee
-- oh my god fucking gross, Toga
Tumblr media
“plus chaos”?? is that their new thing?
do you guys secretly want to go to U.A. too. “we’re forming our own team. it’s called the... uh... revengers”
also is this the first time we’ve seen Compress with his missing arm? I forget if he was in the flashback chapter from before. and I’m not gonna go back and check right now because I have more important things to do, namely BINGGGGE
(ETA: kinda glad I didn’t check, because the Robot Arm came as such a pleasant surprise in chapter 160)
look at this elaborate plan they concocted
Tumblr media
was Compress being held hostage?? how much of this arc did I drift through in a boredom-induced haze omg
(ETA: okay so this was never actually clarified, but based on the information we have, it would seem that Tomura was planning on having his minions kidnap Eri when the opportunity arose, and that’s why Twice made a copy of Mr. Compress to save for a rainy day. Compress then used his quirk on himself?, and then simply sat around in one of their pockets waiting for the plan to go into effect.
but this all means that Toga and Twice were both somehow able to lie even under the influence of Nemoto’s quirk in chapter 149, though. so that’s weird. unless they somehow came up with this plan all on their own, in which case it technically wouldn’t have been Tomura’s plan, and so Nemoto’s wording of that particular question would have allowed them to say no. but that seems like a reach. then again, this all does, pretty much. so...)
and also, so we’re back to Twice making more than two copies of things, I presume? or did they do all this with only two sets of them
(ETA: @r5h helped me with this one back in 149; even though Twice can only make two copies of things, each of his clones has the same quirk, and so each of them can make two more copies, etc. etc. although this would mean Twice broke his self-imposed rule of not copying himself. but hey it was for a good cause)
anyway. so Twice is telling Compress that Eri is the core of the Precepts’ operation and that she’s just a little kid
omg. they want Compress to snatch her. like he did with Katsuki omg
listen guys. I’m somehow mostly on your side here. even when you abducted Kacchan, it led to my two favorite parts of the series, so yeah. but if you abduct any more children, particularly this one who has been through enough trauma for a lifetime, you’re going to lose some points again
although why do I feel like even Tomura would end up being way kinder to Eri than Overhaul ever was. I feel like they wouldn’t really hurt her, but they’d probably end up brainwashing and manipulating her much in the same way that AFO did to Tomura. that’s the more classy villain thing to do
(ETA: they’d give her lots of ginger ale)
wtf. apparently Compress is a copy? I’m so fucking confused. can anyone help me puzzle this out seeing as the anime won’t air this for another year. I’m tempted to go find the reddit discussion thread of this chapter and see if they got it sorted
(ETA: bah, the reddit discussion was just a bunch of speculation on what Eri’s quirk actually was and whether she was going to become Orihime 2.0. reddit needs to calm the fuck down sometimes lol)
anyway, so Compress is dropping in on everyone now and bitching about how mean Toga and Twice are to him
Deku’s shouting at Ochako to take care of Nighteye
float him out to safety, I guess? the dude’s already a goner Deku
and he’s running toward Eri
but
Tumblr media
Overhaul you BITCH, DID YOU HURT MY SWEET GIRL
DEKU HOW CAN WE MAKE IT SO THIS FUCKER NEVER AGAIN SEES THE LIGHT OF DAY
son of a bitch
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I said how can we make it so he does not see the light of day, Deku!!
are you just standing there while he escapes on this jutting rock elevator like Scar singing “Be Prepared” in The Lion King
Tumblr media
YES. DUH
oh for fuck’s sake he’s leaping after him and screaming “I won’t let you!”
right now you don’t have a very good track record for living up to those words, Deku
Overhaul’s all “give it up already”
once again, they’re not the ones dragging it out, you ass
and now, weirdly, he’s being interrupted by a giant rock wearing Mirio’s cape?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I dub thee “Lemillirock”
Tumblr media
I’m sorry, are we really supposed to believe that a giant fucking rock wearing a billowing cape just somehow got “blown up” twenty feet in the air toward you all on its own?
and what, are they just stopping to admire it now?
Eri’s reaching out to grab the cape
the narration says she wasn’t even conscious of the fact that she was doing it
and she’s remembering Mirio’s whole “a hero’s cape is for safely bundling up scared little girls all snug and secure like warm lil burritos” speech
Tumblr media
is her quirk happening?!
what’s going on omg
Overhaul seems shocked by something
Tumblr media
FLASHBACK
ahhhhh so she’s the old boss’s granddaughter. that makes much more sense
the boss’s daughter apparently cut her ties with the family after a marriage dispute, and had a kid
and then...
Tumblr media
well that’s nice
um WHAT
Tumblr media
UM. WHAT
jesus christ. apparently Eri mutated a quirk that had nothing to do with the quirks on either side of her family lineage
Tumblr media
don’t mind me just making a note of this for future theorizing. please, continue
so apparently her quirk just straight up makes things disappear. just disappears ‘em
so the boss told Overhaul to look after her, and to also investigate just what her quirk was
so he did some experiments with rats and stuff
Tumblr media
WHAT
Tumblr media
WAIT WHAT
omg
wait so is this like that thing in Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator that de-aged people, and if you took too much you’d actually be de-aged into negative years??
does this mean that with more training she could master control of it and turn it into a time travel quirk??
(ETA: future number one hero here. for sure. unstoppable. Deku this is your successor. actually you’d better watch out because you and Katsuki will have like 10 years at the top at most before she graduates and arrives fresh on the hero scene to boot y’all from that podium.
fucking imagine. she can heal anyone. stop bad guys by removing their quirks and/or turning them into cute babies. alter the landscape during fights. turn a few chickens into fucking dinosaurs. and that’s just scratching the surface.
is she overpowered? fucking yes lmao. do I care? yeah that’s gonna be a no from me dawg. besides, like her equally overpowered Lemillibrother before her, she probably won’t gain full control of her abilities until she’s all grown up, so it’s all good.)
and apparently he started doing fucked up shit to her right away because she immediately tried to escape starting on that day
Eriiii ;_;
Tumblr media
:|
I need Eri to be adopted by a loving family and pampered and showered with love and affection every day for the rest of her life and they take her to Disney World and she meets the princesses and they all tell her how brave she is for never giving up, and now she finally has her happily ever after
do you remember how these fuckers were actually trying to bribe her with toys. as if that would make everything okay. sorry you’re being held captive and never shown the slightest affection and you’re being constantly tortured and you’re so scared and tired all the time because no matter what you know you’ll never be safe and you’ve even been conditioned to think all of it is your own fault. but here’s some toys. [leaves and comes back to find them unopened] WHY DIDN’T YOU PLAY WITH THEM. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT DIDN’T MAGICALLY MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER
the narration is talking about how Mirio’s actions “shook her heart to the core”, and that she couldn’t bear to see people getting hurt trying to save her
and we’re back in real time and she’s saying “stop please, I don’t want you to die”
Tumblr media
OH MY GOD
like, so wait. WHERE DID OVERHAUL GO
HER POWERS ARE AWAKENING. so they hadn’t before?? WHAT IS HER POWER OMG
but you know what. I can just CLICK TO THE NEXT CHAPTER AND FIND OUT. because like, that was the plan anyway :D
the last two omakes are just (1) Horikoshi announcing that the guy who draws Vigilantes drew him something to congratulate him on the new volume, and (2) the picture that said guy drew. which is Toga and Twice, but it’s not really anything special, aside from the fact that there’s a little caption saying “you know, I could ship this!” which, yeah buddy. I feel ya

A Broken Samsara
Written for Yatori Week 2018.  Short angsty fic with a happier ending.  4500 words.  This is the full story in one post
Based in part on chapter 58, if Daikoku’s prediction became reality...
Tumblr media
‘The adolescent fool I once called my son, centuries have passed, and he still behaves like a small child.  When will he learn there are boundaries and one of them is he cannot cross me!’  Fujisaki leans over the railing of the school roof and watches Hiyori walking out with a couple of female friends.  He grins, ‘at least Yaboku has provided me with such an easy way to gain his attention…’
“Byyeee,” her friend’s wave as she splits from the group and heads towards home.  She really should check on Yukine with Yato having been missing for a while and the whole Nora coming around making her nervous, but if she didn’t start her school project now, there was no way she could finish it by Monday.  Hiyori sighed, wishing she knew where that idiot God could be.  Doesn’t he realize how much pain and trouble he’s causing Yukine… ‘and me?’
“My, my, such luck I have today in running into you.”
Hiyori turns around, “what do you want Fujisaki, if you’re looking for Yato I don’t know where he is.”
“I know that, which brings me to this meeting.”
She takes a step back, “I-I can’t help you.”
“I beg to differ,” he takes a step forward, “there are two in this world that my Yaboku values above all others, Yukine is one, and you my pretty little Hiyori, is the other.  Now, come quietly,” his eyes turn towards her family’s home a few houses away, “or I will harm your loved ones.”
“Please don’t,” she flinches, knowing his threats were never idle ones, “I-I’ll comply just leave them alone.”
Fujisaki grins and pulls her to his side, “such an obedient girl,” swinging their arms as if they were simply a couple walking hand in hand down the street, “we even look like a handsome couple don’t you think?”
“I think not,” rolling her eyes, “and remember I know you kissed me just to make Yato angry.”
“Right, you’re foolishly in love with my son.  But you are wrong, I wanted to kiss you before he had a chance.”  Hiyori glares at him with a deadpanned stare.  “I knew that loser wouldn’t have the guts to, tch, a thousand years old and he’s never taken a girl seriously.  That’s not what I raised him to be, but he should take advantage of the fineries this world has to offer.”  Fujisaki grips her chin, “I can see what he likes about you Hiyori, even I became curious, wondered what female had finally made my son take notice,” peering through half-lidded eyes, “it’s why I took over this man’s body, to get close to you.”
Hiyori gulps and leans away, “What do you really want with me?”
“You’ll be bait,” dropping her chin and continuing on their way.  “If Yaboku finds out that I have kidnapped you, he’ll surely come to your rescue.  Though I have no plans to give you up…” his voice trailing out.
“A-Are you going to kill him?”
“If he doesn’t come back to me…  Yes.”
“But if you get him back, why would you need to keep me too?”
“Because my sweet little Hiyori,” he grins, “not only will it keep Yaboku in line, but maybe I too have come to wish for your love…”
Nora rushes to Kofuku and Daikoku’s home knowing that is where Yukine would most likely be.  She had wanted to avoid contact with anyone besides her fellow Regalia, but it couldn’t be helped if they were to save Hiyori. Of all of them, Nora knew just how far Father would be willing to go to get what he desired, though she wasn’t sure exactly what that was at the moment.  Was his growing obsession over Hiyori or his desire to have back his God-son the culprit this time?
“Yukine!!”  She calls out as she rounds the corner and sees him on the roof with Daikoku.  “Yukine, Father has kidnapped Hiyori!”
“He did what!  That son-of-a….” he jumps down along with Daikoku, even Kofuku has come out to see what all the ruckus was about.  “How do you know that and why the hell would he take Hiyori?”
“I’ve been following him ever since Yaboku went underground in case they met up.  But as to the why, I’m not sure.  Father had been a little obsessed with her recently, but I always thought it was because she was close to Yaboku.”
Daikoku steps forward, “you’ve been with him for a long time, what do you think he’ll do with her?”
“Probably hold her hostage to force Yaboku out of hiding.”
“Damn it!” Yukine screams and runs his hand down his face, “even we don’t know where that idiot went and now look!  I swear to the Heavens, I am going to ring his neck when this is all over!”
“Calm down,” Kofuku tries to assure the young man, “getting angry is not going to solve anything.”
“If it wasn’t such a risk, I’d say giving him a few blights might make him come back…”  Three sets of eyes turn on Daikoku.  “I wasn’t serious!  If that doesn’t work Yukine could be putting himself at risk.”
Yukine takes a deep breath staring at the ground, “if it’s to find Hiyori I’ll do anything.” Looking back up with a fierce and determined glare, “even give up my life for her!”
“Let’s try not to be hasty,” Daikoku takes on the fatherly role, gently placing a hand upon the young man’s shoulder, “why don’t we fan out and search everywhere again, he’s got to be somewhere.”
“Where did Hiyori last encounter Kazuma, that would be a good starting place?”
“That’s a good idea Kofuku!” Yukine tries to remember the conversation, “I think she said it was near…”
It takes the group two hours and sheer luck that Yato had been spotted with Kazuma near the edge of a forest to find them outside of an old ramshackle of a shrine.  Yato is surprised that they had found him, waving and excited to see his friends, but while Kofuku waves back, Yukine runs up and punches him square in the face, knocking the God to the ground.
“You bastard!  That’s for running off and not saying a damn thing!” he raises a fist to strike a second time, but by then both Kazuma and Daikoku have grabbed his arms, “that fucking Father of yours has kidnapped Hiyori and we’re pretty damn sure it’s cause you went into hiding!”
Still shaking the blow off, now Yato’s attention whips back to Yukine, “He…  Why the…”
“To lure you back out you idiot!  This is all your fault!  Why don’t you ever learn to stop doing everything on your own and let us help you! Or why can’t you keep in touch so we don’t have to worry!”  Yukine is shaking he’s so furious, “don’t you realize how much Hiyori cares about you! She was in tears, TEARS, she was so upset when you left her like you did!”
“But this is all to protect, you, Hiyori…. I didn’t want to risk Father hurting you too…”
Yukine lets out a long exhale and his body slumps forward, “It’s too late for that.”
“Okay, okay,” Daikoku let go of the boy and so does Kazuma.  “Now we need to figure out where he might have taken her…”
Kazuma steps back as the others discuss what little information they had on Father’s whereabouts. He had chased her away from Yato because of similar intentions.  Hiyori was an innocent party, a human caught up in the world of Gods and spirits and it was for her own good that she kept a distance from them.  Plus, the emotions growing between the pair was not orthodox, a human and a God could never be….  Or was that him imparting his own jealousy over….  Regardless, as he stared down at Yato and Yukine, maybe, breaking up their little family wasn’t the right thing to do after all...
After Daikoku and Kofuku return home, he worried that her being out and about would blight their search. Yukine and Yato, Nora and Kazuma split into groups and start from where Fujisaki and Hiyori were last seen, fanning out in the hopes that he wouldn’t have risked travelling too far and chance being seen.  But that still left a wide swath of area to cover with many houses, businesses, or other buildings he could easily have found refuge in.
Within the hour, Yukine’s cell phone rings.  He pulls it out of his pocket and screeches, handing it to Yato, “it’s Hiyori!”
Yato yanks it out of Yukine’s hand and hits receive, “Hiyori!  Hiyori are you a…”
A male voice’s laughter rings in Yato’s ear, “sorry, but your Hiyori is a bit tied up right now.”
The young God’s face goes from pale to fuming in mere seconds, “I swear on the Heavens if you…”
“No point in threatening me Yaboku….  Oh, tell Yukine we said hi and he can stop trying to listen over your shoulder.” The pair look at each other in shock, damn it, Father can see them!  As Yukine looks around at the surrounding buildings.  “Well now that I have your attention, I’ll make this simple, if you want Hiyori released, you need to come back to me Yaboku, and bring Yukine with you. Without Nora I have little protection, so you will come in quite handy.”
“Even if I relented, I would never give you Yukine!”
“Truth is I have no plans to give up Hiyori either.  Come now Yaboku, we could be a family, the four of us.  Hiyori will be mine, you and Yukine will be my sons…”
“Fuck you,” Yato rages, “as if I’d ever let you take Hiyori from me!!”
“Son you know that a relationship between a God and human is taboo.  From the moment you tethered her to this world you have been like two star-crossed lovers, Orihime and Hikoboshi, always separated by the Heavens.”
“There is no one trying to separate us,” Yato seethes, “except you.”
“Tsk, tsk, apparently Kazuma didn’t tell you how he chased her away recently when she almost found you, even told her that you could never be together.  Son, don’t you see, I am the only one who truly cares for you.”
Yato is stunned by Kazuma’s betrayal but for now, finding Hiyori was more important.  “You don’t care about anyone, Father, and I am done doing your bidding.  Now tell me where’s Hiyori!!”
“I’m not going to tell you that son.”
“Do not call me son, I am no longer your family!  You see, what you fail to understand is that yes, I love Hiyori, but she and Yukine are my family now, they are the ones I love, and they are the ones I will do everything in my power to protect, even if that means destroying you and risking my lifeline!”
There is a brief pause on the other end, then in a softer tone laced with venom, “I feel sorry for you Yaboku, but you will lose in the end,” the line going dead.
Fujisaki closes the cell phone, clenching his fist around the device, almost flying at the wall but that would be careless, just in case Yato calls him back to grovel.  How dare his son disown him like that!  He shoves the phone back in his pocket and takes a cab back to the school where he’d hidden Hiyori.  Fine, at least he still had her as a consolation prize.
But as soon as he enters the room, he realizes that Hiyori has somehow broken the spell binding her spirit to her body.  “Damn it!” Fujisaki punches the wall.  He knew she was strong, she’d even broken through the memory spell Nora once placed on her, but he thought this one would hold.  Running his hand through his hair and taking a moment to calm himself, he moves her body so it’s lying down.  ‘She’s gotta come back,’caressing her cheek, ‘sooner or later.’
Chills run down her spine and she cradles her arms, someone was messing with her body.  Ugh, Fujisaki better not be doing anything weird! Hiyori knew her time was limited, as she rushes around the city, jumping from roof to roof, and running along powerlines.  The first place she had checked was Kofuku’s but all they knew was Yato and the others were out searching for her in the area she was last seen.  So, she tried that area with no luck, her neighborhood, the business district, even swung by the school and still no sign of them.
If only she had her cell phone, that would really help, but Fujisaki had taken it to call Yato.  She had thought about waiting but realized no, she needed to get away as quickly as she could the moment he let his guard down. Luckily the binding spell was weaker than the one Kaguha had used to keep her and Kazuma locked in a cell when Bishamon was stricken.
By the time the sun was ready to set for the day, Hiyori was losing hope and time and while she didn’t want to waste any of those precious minutes, when she sees a small shrine for a Goddess of Fortune, she stops to make a prayer.  Hiyori kneels at the altar, head bowed, reflecting on everything that has transpired in her short life so far.  Does she regret becoming entangled within this realm of gods and spirits, no, she can say with heartfelt honesty.  Meeting Yato, and Yukine gave her a sense of belonging that she had never felt even with the closest of her family or friends.
‘Please Goddess Benzaitan,’her hands clasped together, ‘everyone says that a human and a God could never be together, and I understand that my love for Yato may be forever unrequited, but it is because of my love for him that I wish him to have an eternity of serving the people like he enjoys doing, protecting those that he loves from harm, and to simply be happy.’ A few tears leak down her cheeks as her strength fades, ‘I wish happiness for Yato, great Goddess Benzaitan and for me just the chance to see him one last time…’
It was time to get back to her body, Hiyori could feel her strength subsiding at a quicker pace and, her lifeline crying for her to return to her body.  Noting that she had journeyed too far from the school, it was going to be lucky if she’d make it in time.  She had tried so hard to find her friend’s, but it was just too large with too many places to check.  It could have taken a couple of day or more to really search the whole city.
With the sun now completely gone, the night could be a very dangerous time for any spirit or a half-Ayakashi like her, and that’s when a new predicament reared its ugly head. Hiyori had managed to get so close, but just a block away from the school a fearsome Ayakashi spots her. The spider-type monster was huge, towering over 3 story buildings and in her already debilitated state, there was no way for her to fend it off.
Hiyori takes off running, zig-zagging through cars and alleyways, getting further away from the school before pulling a U-turn again.  She hides whenever she thinks it has lost her, then darts to a new hiding spot all in the effort to get close to the school again.  If only she could reach the building, she knew she could be safe.  But her legs, lungs, her body is screaming at this point, and her strength is dwindling to a level she can feel is at her breaking point.  As much as she doesn’t want the evil spirit to find her, Hiyori hunkers down for a moment and screams out in fear, pain, and hope, praying that someone could hear her pleas.
Turning another corner, she comes face to face with the Ayakashi.  “Noo!” she scrambles back but the creature takes a swipe nicking her tail. The pain is intense, this is not good, not good at all, at this point it would be impossible to make it back to the school let alone her body deep within it.  Tears flood her vision as she crumples to the ground unable to fight anymore. “I’m sorry… Yato…”
“Hiyori!!!!!”  Yato’s voice drums in her ears.  “Sekki!!!”
Her vision is fading, and she can barely see as Yukine transforms and Yato leaps up, striking the monster in one fail swoop.  But she can picture it all in her mind, smiling that one of her wishes had been granted.  The feeling of being shifted barely registers, her body grown numb.
“Oh no Hiyori!” it’s Yato’s voice again and Yukine.  “No, no, no Hiyori where is your body?  We need to get you back your body.”
“It’s…. too late… at school boiler room.” she manages to whisper.  “Just happy…  got to see you again…”
“Hiyori please don’t leave us!”
Yukine is calling Kazuma and Nora as Yato cradles Hiyori in his lap, hoping that as older Regalia’s and vessels they may know more about what can be done.  But while they both rush over, there is nothing that either of them can offer.
“I’m sorry….”
The moment Hiyori breathes out the word’s boiler room, Yato screams for Kazuma to find her body but he and Nora were already heading for it.  Kazuma had his own grudge against Father and now that he truly had caused the death of someone beloved, that itch to finally catch him intensified.  Nora warned that Father had probably run once Hiyori’s body began to fail, but it didn’t matter.
A range of emotions befalls Yato in a way that it never has before.  As a God, loss is not something that he had really dealt with, or at least not in a very long time since Sakura.  But even that was a different feeling, and this was by far worse than any fears he may have ever had of death.  All of those Ayakashi, all those that he had killed in his past, never had he processed what those emotions could stir up in the families left behind to mourn.  It was karma coming back to him a hundred times over.
“Yato?”
“I’m here Hiyori,” her face cradled against his own.
“Thank you for everything…. wish could’a had more time,” exhale, “be good…. You, Yukine, a family, take care of each other….  I’ll always be with you guys…”
With his eyes clenched tight and tears staining their cheeks, “Hiyori… please you can’t, we promised together forever and it’s not forever!”
“I love you… Yato…” the last of her breath released in those final words.  Yukine bursts into tears and Yato is inconsolable.
“No!  No!  What good is being a God if I can’t save the ones I love!  Hiyori, I love you!  I love you! Damn it!  This is not right!”
Like a puff of smoke, Hiyori’s spiritual body fades away leaving Yato hugging the airspace she once filled.  His arms curl around his frame as his body falls to the pavement in a heap.  Yukine hugs on to him, embracing the last family member he had left as they both succumb to the despair.
Pain stung Yato like a thousand needles all over his body.  This really was his fault, just like Yukine had said, if he had kept them close, Hiyori would still be alive, their family would not be broken.  “I’m sorry Yukine!  I’m sorry!  I’m sorry…” he chants over and over and over.  “All my fault!  It’s all my fault!”
“Yato stop,” Yukine sniffles, “that’s not going to bring her back…”
“I wonder if I die too will I see her again?”
Yukine slaps Yato in the face, “don’t be an idiot!  Do you think Hiyori would want that?!”
“But it’s like there’s a hole in my heart…”
The young boy sighs, “I know, I feel the same way too.  But we need to be strong now so that her death was not in vain.”
Yato hangs his head and places a hand on the back of Yukine’s, pulling him into a hug, “you really are the best,” cracking a weak smile, “I’d be lost without you too.”
Kazuma and Nora return, cradling the physical remains of their friend in his arms.  Nora kneels next to her former master, “I’m sorry Yato but Father was not there.”
“Yato…” Kazuma sits down on the curb next to them, keeping her body in his lap, “I’m truly sorry for…”
“I know you chased Hiyori away Kazuma,” Yato looks up, wiping away some bangs that had become stuck to his face.  “You may have been trying to protect her just like I was, but we were wrong.  Yukine was right, families are stronger together not apart.”  More tears leak down, “if only we hadn’t been such fools…”
“We will get him Yato, that’s a promise.  I swear to you, to Bishamon, to all those with loved ones we will get him.”
“We will kill Fujisaki…” Yato lets out a long exhale, “but it’ll never bring Hiyori back.”
Nora looks up, her eyes scanning the area, “Yato, we should leave, I sense Ayakashi being attracted here.”
“She’s right,” Kazuma stands up, still holding Hiyori’s body, “and we must figure out what to do next.”
Once Yato and Yukine stand, providing support for one another, they take one last look at the spot she had disappeared from.  “Good-bye…”
“Yato, God of Calamity.” They all stop walking and turn to the female voice.
“Benzaitan?”  Everyone looks at Kazuma whose eyes are like saucers. “The Goddess Benzaitan,” he kneels down, “this is a very rare visit.”  The other regalia’s follow suit but Yato remains standing.
He steps forward, “To what do we owe this pleasure Goddess?”
“I have come to fulfill Hiyori’s final wish,” she smiles, “and yours.”
Yato is taken aback, “Mine?”
“Do you not remember the wish that you granted to Hiyori after she refused to sever your bonds?”
“After Rabo…”
“Yes, she wanted to be with you forever and you agreed,” Benzaitan looks to her right and through a hazy white light the image of Hiyori begins to form, “that wish is binding Yato, you as a God should know this.”
“But,” Kazuma pipes up, “Yato doesn’t have the power to raise the dead.”
“No,” she smiles, “he doesn’t, but Hiyori is not returning as a living human,” looking back at the group as the light dissipates and reveals Hiyori in full form.  “Her spirit is a strong one, stronger than most humans are ever born with.  This is why she was able to use astral projection in the first place, to break spells that could bind others less powerful.”
“H-Hiyori…” Yato’s eyes stare at the girl smiling at him.  “I-Is it really Hiyori?”
Benzaitan nods, “her life-force has fully transitioned into a neko spirit.”
“So that’s why she had a cat’s tail before?” Yukine stammers.
“My, such a smart child,” Benzaitan chuckles, “Yato even though you are a stray God, you have been blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful spirits.  Now, as for Hiyori’s wish to me, I think that with your Blessed Vessel and a neko spirit by your side, it will fulfill her desire to see you happy for eternity.”
Moisture collects in Yato’s eyes, to think that one of the last things….  That she didn’t wish for her safety but for his happiness….  His knees buckle, and he drops to his knees, “Hiyori…. Did that for me?  I-I don’t deserve…”
“Go to him,” Benzaitan gestures to Hiyori who runs over without a second of hesitation and throws herself into his arms.  “Be a good God Yato,” she begins to dematerialize, “take care of those you love, and I have no doubt that one day your name will ring through the Heavens…”
Unable to hold back any longer, “Hiyori!” Yukine piles himself onto Yato and Hiyori, hugging them both.
“It’s great to have you still with us,” Kazuma adds.
“and,” Nora mirrors as much as it saddens her to admit it, “Yato would never have been the same without you.”
She sniffles, “I’m happy to still be with all of you too, in any form I’m given.”
After several more minutes, Kazuma prompts Nora and Yukine, “perhaps we should give them a moment alone. I’ll take the body to Kofuku’s where we can figure out what to do with it.”
Hiyori looks at him, she had almost forgotten she was no longer amongst the living.  “I just don’t want my family to think I committed suicide…”
“We can make it look like you were attacked on your way home from school, it would be sad, but it wouldn’t reflect poorly on your soul.”
She smiles, “thank you Kazuma.”
He nods, “we shall wait for you at Kofuku’s then,” and the trio take their leave.
Left alone, Yato and Hiyori revert to their shy selves, blushing and blurting out, “I’m sorry.”
“No,” Yato waves his hands, “this is all my fault.”
“No, it’s mine, I selfishly chose to stay in this world with you and put you in this position.”
“Hiyori,” he grabs her hand, “I selfishly chose to let you stay in this world because…. Because I…”
She reaches up and cups his cheek, “because wecouldn’t let each other go.”
“But look at what happened, Hiyori it’s my fault you’ll never grow up or grow old, you’re…”
“Dead.”
Tear spring to his eyes as he nods, “that wasn’t fair, you deserved to live.”
“You’re right Yato, none of this was ever fair, but you need to stop blaming yourself.  I always knew that to fall in love with you could become a problem since you are immortal, and I am not.”
“I tried not to think about it,” he murmurs and looks away, “figured we’d deal with it later.”
She chuckles, “well,” shrugging her shoulders, “later is now.”
“How can you be so at ease with all of this?”
“I honestly don’t know. I should be angry but all I can think is, maybe this was how it needed to be.  I’ll miss my family, but I’m not alone…. And I’ll have you.”
“Do you… really love me Hiyori?”
Her eyes soften, “yes.”
Yato cups her cheeks, smoothing his thumb over her skin, “I love you too.”
She leans her forehead against his, “we’ll be like Tenjin and Tsuya…”
He chuckles and kisses her softly, “for eternity…”
