Diabolik Lovers Lunatic Parade Special Pamphlet Short Story: The 12 Vampires and the Magic Lamp [ENG Translation]

Original title: １２人のヴァンパイアと魔人のランプ

Source: Diabolik Lovers Lunatic Parade Limited Edition Special Pamphlet

Summary: After the Parade has come to an end, Yui receives a special ‘Magic Lamp’ from Count Walter’s butler which can be used to grant a single wish. As she tries to refuse the gift, the Sakamaki, Mukami and Tsukinami brothers promptly stop her and begin to fight over who has the right to use this valuable treasure. She escapes, but the boys chase her around the city, each of them determined to have their own wish granted. ーー And so, their game of tag begins.

“Chichinashi! Where are you hidin’!?”

“Oooi~ Bitch-chan~! Be a good girl and show yourself?”

With the Parade having come to an end, Ayato-kun and Laito-kun’s voices echo through a now quiet and nearly deserted Glimmer Street. While hiding in the shadow of the buildings, a sof sigh fell from my lips. 

“...What to do? I have to hurry and go to Bernstein Castle...”

Right now, I am on the run not only from Ayato-kun and Laito-kun, but from a total of 12 different Vampires. 

All of this happened because I obtained the golden, shimmering ‘magic lamp’ I’m currently holding in my hands.

ーー It happened after I managed to regain my heart with everyone’s help.

As I was about to leave this city to return to the Human World, I was approached by a butler working for Count Walter. He handed me this ‘Magic Lamp’ as an apology for the trouble his Master had caused me. According to what I was told, it is an extremely valuable treasure which will grant any one wish.

Furthermore...The Sakamaki, Mukami and Tsukinami brothers were there to witness the whole ordeal.

“I just can’t accept something so valuable. ...I’ll give this back to you, okay?”

As I said that in hope of returning to Bernstein castle afterwards, they stopped me in disbelief. 

And then claimed that if I did not want it, they would use it instead. ...This resulted into a fight and before they knew it, I had made a run for it, taking the lamp with me.

ーー And that is how our game of tag started.

I am not quite sure what everyone would wish for, but I believe we don’t need this thing if it can fulfill one person’s wish only.

“Heeh...So that’s your reasoning. Well, I’m pretty sure it’s useless though...”

“ーー S-Shuu-san...!?”

“Not just Shuu. I’m here too. Geez, you really made us go through the trouble of lookin’ for you.”

When I raised my head, Subaru-kun was standing next to me as well. ...No, it wasn’t just the two of them. All of the Sakamaki brothers had gathered, from Ayato-kun and Laito-kun whom I believed had walked past me earlier, to Kanato-kun and even Reiji-san. 

“Hehe...You’re pretty desperate, Subaru.”

“I mean, Subaru-kun’s going to wish for Bitch-chan to fall head over heels in love with him, right~? No wonder he’s so desperate, nfu~”

“D-Don’t be makin’ up lies! My wish is a new coffin!”

“All I want...is to live surrounded by an endless amount of sweets!”

“In that case, I’m gonna wish for a huge load of takoyaーー No, actually, might not be bad to have Chichinashi turned into a Chichiari*.”

--> チチアリ or ‘Chichiari’ would be the opposite of ‘Chichinashi’, literally meaning ‘to have boobs’.

“Eh!? M-Me...!?”

“You can’t, Ayato-kun. I’ll be one turning Bitch-chan into a voluptuous, young woman after all~*”

--> He literally describes it as a ナイスバディのオネーサン or ‘Nice body no Onee-san’. Onee-san is used to refer to women who are older than you are but since Laito-kun is only 17 in human years, it would apply to a girl in her early 20s as well.

“G-Geez! Cut it out, you two...!”

“...You guys really came up with some bullshit. If it can grant any wish, I’d make it so the Old Man never bothers me again...Pwaah...”

And so, they began to slowly close in on me. The very moment they reached for the lamp, Reiji-san - who had been the only one remaining quiet so far - suddenly raised his voice.

“Would you care explain this to me? ...Because you kept touching the lamp with those sweaty palms, there are now fingerprints all over it! Come on, it is not too late yet! Put these on at once!”

While frantically shouting at me, he threw a pair of white gloves my way. Surprised by his menacing look, I put them on as asked, and Reiji-san finally nodded his head in agreement. 

“I am disappointed...Do none of you grasp the true value of this lamp?”

“Haah? Are we really not allowed to touch it with our bare hands...?”

“It looks pretty normal from the outside though~ I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a similar example in Kanato-kun’s room...?”

“Yes. ...Well, that one isn’t capable of granting wishes though.”

Reiji-san sighed deeply at Ayato-kun, Latio-kun and Kanato-kun’s consecutive comments.

“...Only two of these ‘magic lamps’ exist in this world, making them very valuable from a historic point of view. Furthermore, the lamp may disappear once it has granted one’s wish, therefore it revolts me you lot are even considering putting it to use...”

While the other guys seemed little interested in Reiji-san’s emotion-laden speech, he once again spoke up.

“Well, I doubt you will ever understand.  ーー Especially you, whom I did not expect to even join us in the first place...”

“...Shut up. Who cares?”

Shuu-san calmly brushed off Reiji-san’s taunt as if it was nothing. 

“Hehe...Seems like he doesn’t give a shit ‘bout what you say.”

“Fufu, take a look at that frustrated expression on Reiji’s face. ...This might be the most interesting thing I’ve seen in quite some time.”

“Geez, cut it out you two~ Don’t you feel bad for Reiji~?”

“Feel bad? ...Hehe. Pretty sure your words hurt even more.”

The other four brothers who had been listening in on their conversation continued to chuckle...Which eventually caused Shuu-san to burst out laughing as well.

Seems like this sight dealt a pretty hefty blow to Reiji-san’s pride, as he stood there shaking violently from sheer anger.

I better make a run for it before things take a turn for the worse...

I used the fact they had suddenly completely forgotten about me to my advantage, and left the place at once.

“...Phew. Thank god. Seems like they didn’t notice.”

I eventually found myself on Aizen Alley, one of the streets located in the very back of Glimmer street. To be honest, I wasn’t too thrilled about having to pass through there, but if I wanted to head to the castle while avoiding Ayato-kun and the others, I had no other choice. 

“Hehe...Too bad. You can’t escape us First Bloods.”

“Hand over that lamp you are holding at once.”

I gasp at the voices resounding from the darkness. Those who appeared were Shin-kun and Carla-san.

“I-I can’t do that...! I believe it is wrong to use the lamp for one’s own selfish pursuits...”

“If we give it back, it’ll just get thrown into some old, dusty storage room, right? In that case, I’m pretty sure the lamp would be happier to have someone use it as well?”

“B-But...”

“Come on, don’t hesitate. You’re keeping Nii-san waiting as well. Can’t you hurry up?”

“...T-Then, what would you wish for, Shin-kun?”

While snorting at my desperate question, he answered with a smile.

“That should be obvious. I’d make sure those filthy Vampires disappear off the face of the Demon World at onーー”

“ーー No. We want cured ham.”

“N-Nii-san...?”

“We shall change all food in this world to cured ham. That is my...No, the dearest wish of all First Bloods.”

“R-Right...”

Carla-san would blurt that out with a straight face. It is the very definition of a selfish wish but I wonder if Shin-kun is truly okay with it? ...I look over at Shin-kun while wondering that, seeing him look at Carla-san in utter defeat.

“...Well then, woman. Hand it over right now.”

“You’re actually hoping to fulfill that wish...!?”

“Yes, of course.”

All food in this world will turn into cured ham...That is just simply pushing it one step too far. It pains me to have to deceive him...But I decided to tell a certain lie.

“H-Have you already had the chance to try the cured ham galette which is said to be this city’s speciality...?”

“...Pardon?”

“It’s a limited edition galette which is available at stores only after the Parade has ended. While passing by the shops earlier, I noticed that only very few were left, so I figured I would inform you just in case...”

While there was no guaranteeing he would believe me, I wanted to make Carla-san forget about the lamp, even if just for a few minutes. With that sole purpose in mind, I continued my act.

“...Let us go, Shin. Just leave this woman be.”

“W-Wait, Nii-san! You’re just going to believe her on her word!?”

“We will know whether she was speaking the truth or not once we get to the shop. Even if she had been lying, capturing a human woman is child’s play to me. However, if she has been speaking the truth...”

“If we don’t hurry, they’ll run out of cured ham galettes, right? ...Right, I understand.”

Realizing there was no point in trying to reason with him, Shin-kun reluctantly trailed behind Carla-san as they left. 

I truly am sorry...While internally apologizing to both of them, I headed towards my desitation. 

“Haah...I can finally see it in the distance...”

Some time after I bid farewell with the Tsukinami brothers, I finally got close to Bernstein castle.

“Oh no...I can’t approach the castle like this...”

After all, four familiar figures were standing lined up by the castle’s gate. Those are the Mukami brothers...Of course, with Ruki-kun standing in the middle. As to be expected of a strategist like him. If I wanted to return the lamp to its owner, I would have to make it back here eventually. They were one step ahead of me.

“Eve...Found you...”

“...!! A-Azusa-kun!?”

When I timidly turned around at the voice suddenly calling for me from behind, Azusa-kun - who was talking to Ruki-kun and the others up until seconds ago - suddenly stood right in front of me. 

“Ahー M-neko-chan! So this is where you’ve been~!”

“Che...Ya sure took yer sweet time. You’re damn late, Sow!”

“...Calm down, you guys. If we make too much of a ruckus, we’ll attract the attention of the others.”

When I raised my voice, it caught everyone’s attention and without a chance to slip away, I was soon surrounded by the four Mukami brothers.

“I’m sorry, guys. But I won’t hand over this lamp to anyone...!”

After jumping the gun like that, Ruki-kun let out a disappointed sigh.

“...Seems like you have got the wrong idea. I simply want to look after the lamp for you.”

“Eh...? You don’t want to use it to grant your own wish?”

“Of course not. If a Vampire such as myself holds on to the lamp, it will decrease the chances of one of the other guys stealing it.”

“You say that buuuut~ ...Ruki-kun, aren’t you actually hoping to use that lamp to renovate our manor~?”

“Your own exclusive study room off-limits for anyone else, and a play room filled with nothing but chess boards...Hehe, as to be expected of Mr. Eldest son.”

“Kuh...! Don’t assume such things. All I want to do is to make the home we have received from that man the most comfortable for you all to live in...!”

While Ruki-kun chuckles sarcastically after his true intentions are exposed by his siblings, Azusa-kun reached out for me.

“Listen, Eve...The four of us talked it out and...We’ve decided to use the lamp together with Ruki as our representative...”

“Ruki-kun’s so mean, you know~! I was actually going to wish for a hundred year’s worth of Vongole Bianco.” 

“I was gonna ask for the power to manipulate the weather...But my idea got shot down at once. ...Haah...And here I thought I could make field work a lil’ easier on myself...”

“I just want to be with Eve so...I didn’t really have any particular wishes...”

“Is that so...? It’s really admirable of you all to hold back on your own desires.”

Even though the younger brothers were voicing their complaints, it didn’t seem like they were going to force their own wishes through. I’m sure it is because Ruki-kun intends to make a wish which benefits the whole family, as the deep bond of trust between the four brothers somehow made me feel warm inside.

However...That still does not mean I will give them the lamp. 

“Uhm, you see...It just doesn’t sit right with me to only have one person’s wish granteーー!?”

The second I felt as if something was closing on me, a large sound resounded from the nearby buildings before they collapsed.

“...!? This magic...”

“The Tsukinami’s...perhaps? Look, over there...!”

“Ugeh! They look hella pissed off! Did ya do somethin’!?”

“Uu...W-Well...”

I could feel my heart drop at Yuma-kun’s words. Carla-san and Shin-kun must be upset about the lie I ended up telling them back then...

“Say, what should we do!? At this rate, we’ll all be turned to dust...!”

Kou-kun’s exclamation made me panic as I rushed towards the two brothers. Either way, I just had to apologize as quickly as possible...However, I was stopped by the Sakamaki brothers before I could reach them.

“You’ve got nowhere to run now...Oi, hand me the lamp already!”

“What are you saying, Subaru? I will be using the lamp. You’re in the way!”

“Hell no! I’m gonna have my wish granted!”

“Ehー Let me have the honor for once~ We can only use it once and my wish is obviously the best.”

Shuu-san joins in a little late as well and before I know it, the Sakamaki, Mukami and Tsukinami brothers are all gathered just like when we started off.

Glares were being exchanged here and there as a hostile atmosphere fills the air. I can no longer stop them all by myself. In that case, I will have to rely on an outer source to back me up. I didn’t want to use the lamp to have a wish granted but...This is the only way to stop their fight.

While rubbing the side of the lamp, I spoke up with a loud voice.

“Release lanterns into the sky once more!”

White smoke emitted from the lamp and soon after ー Poof! The lamp disappeared with a popping sound. 

When I look up at the sky, I once again witness the same magical sight of countless lanterns floating through the sky, just like they did a few hours ago. ...At some point, their quarreling voices had gone quiet as well. 

“You...Haah. You really are a foolish woman.”

“Ya really think we’re happy with this crap? Geez. Ya really used the lamp for some useless shit...”

“...Eh...?”

Shuu-san and Yuma-kun’s remarks catch me off guard as I froze on the spot.

“...Livestock, seems like you did not grasp the true value of that lamp.”

“Exactly...To think a great hidden treasure of the Demon World has been lost over such a ridiculous wish...!”

Ruki-kun and Reiji-san voiced their complaints as well.

“B-But...! All of you were moved by the lanterns, no...?”

I frantically reached out for the others, hoping that at least one of them would agree with me. ...That was all I wished for, yet...

“I mean, sure? But to be honest, I didn’t need to see it a second time...”

“...I’d hate to have to agree with a mere Vampire...But I’ll admit that Kou is right this one time. You feel the same, don’t you, Nii-san?”

“...My cured ham...”

“Too bad, Shin-san...Seems like Carla-san can’t hear you right now...”

“Ah-aah...I was looking forward to seeing a sexy Bitch-chan as well~”

“Me too. I was already making plans for which sweet I would try first...!”

“Fuck! There goes my plan of gettin’ a coffin in which nobody can bother me...!”

All I got in return were negative responses and sighs.

“...Guess I’ve got no other choice then! Oi, Chichinashi! Let me suck your blood to make up for it!”

“W-Wait! That’s way too sudden...!”

“Shut up! That’s the only thing which can calm this anger inside of me!”

While Ayato-kun closed in, I looked around me in search of someone to save me, but all I could see were a bunch of eyes glaring at me from the darkness. At this rate, they will all take my blood. ...There is no way I would come out of that alive. Realizing I had to make a run for it...I dashed away at full-speed.

“Ah! Wait, M-neko-chan!!”

“Geez, Bitch-chan! I’m not scary though~!”

The many lanterns floating through the night sky was a sight to behold, but unfortunately, I did not have the leaway to enjoy that right now. After all, I had to flee from their approaching footsteps and voices calling out for me as soon as possible.

I didn’t want them to fight and while I never expected them to become friends, I wished they would at least try and be on neutral terms with each other. 

That wish was most definitely granted. Right now, they had put the strained relationship between the different families aside to join forces.

However, knowing their shared goal is my blood...doesn’t make me happy at all.

ーー The Demon World’s Parade safely came to an end, but my night had only just begun.

Then your teeth will start to fall off one by one eventually leaving you toothless. And guess what the only way you'll be able to eat vegetables is to blend them. And blood hahaha you will have no fangs by then. So I’m asking you one more time....are you sure you don’t wanna go to the dentist?

I would let him stay. I know the struggle of finding a place to stay so it would be cool. We would drive each other insane but that would be just a begging of a beautiful new friendship :)

Without a hesitation, Ayato would climb over chairs and tables just to get away from him.

It’s hard to decide. Laito would do it right while on the other hand, Shu would throw a couple of sentences but really sassy ones. So 50/50

Burry the evidence in the yard and tell him that prize never existed

Well, guess I was bitten until I fainted since they were fighting about whom would I belong to. That’s the only escenario that comes to my mind.

Walk, rest, walk rest and finally eat. We would have trouble turning on the fire and then I would end up being the one cooking. But they will be the ones to birng the food. Then I will prefer sleeping in the same tend as Subaru since I don’t trust the other two~

That I think would be interesting. Shin hates vampires and he ended up being one, he’ll complain the whole time about how disgusting he feels. Although he’s secretly relief thet he got to be the eldest and not the hentai and to see with both eyes. Shu on the other hand would feel powerful, but he in the end wouldn’t care and go to sleep. I’ll ask for Reiji’s help or I’ll try hitting them with a hammer like Yui did LOLOLOLOL. >:D

I’ll be surprise, but say nothing. On the other hand Kino would be the one to say exactly all what I’m thinking about him. Kino would be a pain in the neck to Reiji and I’ll just sit…waiting for them to find out the way back.

Yeee, shopping with Azusababy \(♥w♥)/ I guess I would recommend him to buy comfortable clothes, and possibly the cheaper ones... but paying attention to their quality too; this, in general. Then, I also think I would probably tell him that fair colors and blue tones suits him better... and I really like big-sized sweaters on him!

2. You walk into your room one day to find number 2 (Laito) standing on your bed, dancing to your favourite song while wearing nothing but your favourite underwear. How do you react?

"LAITO, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND, YOU’RE A PERVERT, NOT A GROSS ONE- Ah, no, wait” *thinkings pose as Laito’s like “Aw, Bitch-chan, that’s mean, I was just teasing you D:”, feigning innocence ‘cause he’s a damn old fox*

Probably panic because I’m somewhat scared of heigh places... or I would in this case, because we’re still. I’d try to keep calm, but... I’d eventually start crying and hyperventilating... I think Yuuma-kun wouldn’t really worry that much, haha.

Since Azusa-kun is his brother, I think Kou-kun would figure everything out and... either give it to me with a smirk on his face, teasing me about it, or... maybe go and tell Azusa-kun to write his name on it or whatever? Like, giving advice like a good brother?

... If everyone’s there, I think Carla-san wouldn’t be happy about it at all, and with Reiji-san and Ruki-san he would stop her... while Kou-kun, Yuuma-kun, Laito-kun and maybe Ayato-kun would encourage her and tease her (Shuu-san would comment, too, like “Heh, I knew you were a lewd woman”), I guess.

Of course, I’d help the big brothers stopping her.

I don’t know why, but I don’t think they would be that good at rapping... maybe Yuuma-kun would be a little better than Laito-kun.

Ah. You mean Kino-kun’s smartphone? Well... that’d be difficult to cover up. It’d be better and easier to buy him a new smartphone... in case it was completely broken. If it got just ruined, maybe we can substitute some parts? We’d ask someone related to this, probably. (Ruki-san begging, lol)

We just fell asleep after watching some movies. That’s all. Actually, Shuu-san slept from the very beginning, then I fell asleep towards the end of the movie and at last Subaru-kun, after turning off the TV/whatever.

Kino-kun would keep on complaining that there’s no Wi-Fi to play on his smartphone, Yuuma-kun would observe the nature and Carla-san... Would he even know what it means to camp? XD He’s a King, he can’t sleep on the ground! lololololol I guess I’d just enjoy this time with them and... panic at night because I don’t like sleeping where insects can easily reach you in your “bed”...

... Shuu-san wouldn’t really care? He’d just keep on sleeping... but it’d be difficult for him to sleep, because, if I’m not mistaken, the long exposure to displays can influence this, right? And since Kino-kun’s a lot on his smartphone...! Kino-kun would take it easy, too, at first. But eventually, we would ask Reiji-san to solve this.

Answers to Tsuki-san's questions!

#1-20

#1) I would refer Ruki! It's not because I favor him a bit but because I know more about his culinary skills. From what I remember in his Dark Fate route, he used a flambé method when making Yui an omurice (•ᴗ•)❤ #2) I would like to go with Kou :) he's very enthusiastic about these things so I feel as if we would have a lot more fun since he would be willing to go on rides (＾∇＾) #3) I would play darts against Shuu! It would definitely be challenging. One challenge would be to actually convince him to play with me. The second one would be to actually be competing against him since he knows how to play like a pro :3 #4) I would want Yuma and Shuu! Yuma is so tall that I feel he could be a pro basketball player if he wanted to :3 If Shuu would actually participate, then our team would have higher chances of victory #5) I would place my bets on Kou! Kou has more experience since he is an idol. He probably has practiced a lot. Though seeing Ayato trying to bust a move would be funny o(^▽^)o #6) I would vote for Carla! He would at least have some experience over these type of things since he is the King of the First Blood. Though, the only other first blood besides him is Shin lol ヽ(‘ ∇‘ )ノ

#7) Seeing an arm wrestle between Kanato and Azusa would be interesting! I can practically see Kanato screaming that he doesn't want to touch Azusa though. Poor little cinnamon bun just wanted to be friends ;-; #8) I choose Ruki, Shuu, Reiji, and Azusa. They're more calmer than the other brothers and they at least won't explode or destroy the classroom! More peaceeeee unless Shuu does something to annoy Reiji （ﾉ´д｀） #9) I would prefer to be Subaru's maid :3 There are cons though, meaning I have to clean up his mess like poor wall-chan's remains.

#10) I would choose Ruki and Yuma! Ruki seems to be the type who has knowledge on babysitting. Yuma would be a great babysitter because he would play with me and in general he looks like he would know how to handle spunky kids and entertain them. #11) I would choose Shuu and Subaru! Shuu would be the one to least likely make any trouble and Subaru is such a sweet and innocent little child (´･ω･`) #12) I would place my bets on Ruki! If I remembered correctly, I think he played a game of Chess against Yui. He had lost to her on purpose but that's so sweet :3 I'm not so sure about Reiji though. I think he would also be a good player so choosing is really a challenge ( ･ω･)ﾉ #13) I would ask for Carla's help! Carla has a lot of destructive powers and can probably disintegrate it ( ´△｀). Subaru was my second choice though! #14) I would like Azusa to take care of me! I feel as if Azusa would try his best, even if he doesn't know what to do (•ᴗ•). I can imagine him attempting to make me feel better by doing little actions of kindness. #15) On this one I'm not sure. Ayato can be a bit clueless, and Kino looks like he might procrastinate and play games on his phone so this one is a bit hard to answer but I would choose Ayato! #16) I think I would have to go with Shuu, Ayato, and Yuma. Ayato can help lighten the mood by engaging us into fun activities like a pillow fight (gone wrong lol). Sleeping assignments...hmmm. I guess I would rather sleep with Shuu. I don't think sleeping with Shuu will have any problems since he takes his sleeping seriously (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Though, if I let Yuma and Shuu sleep, Shuuma will sail off (＾∇＾) #17) I would prefer to steal Shin's glasses. Just thinking about what Reiji would do for punishment sent chills down my spine. Shin would have a punishment as well but it probably wouldn't be as bad as Reiji's (Ｔ▽Ｔ) #18) Ooh, this ones hard as well ( ´△｀) Shuu has a strong dislike towards worms and Laito despises creepy crawlers. If only Reiji was an option ;-; that'd funny. Ruki seems like he would be able to woo women with his aura of gentlemanliness. Diabolik Lovers Lost Eden Shin Tsukinami route summary

So my copy of Lost Eden arrived recently and I thought I’d start off with my favourite character’s route. I haven’t seen much on Shin’s route so I thought I might as well share what happens. Warning for massive spoilers below the cut. Also my Japanese is super beginner and I got fed up of looking up kanji non-stop and ended up just going for it, so unfortunately I can’t vouch for my accuracy and some bits are guess work on my part. I tried my best and will update this when I’ve gone through it and looked up more of the kanji, if you notice I’ve got anything wrong or have anything to add, please let me know politely ^^

Possible triggers for blood and illness, and general dialovers shenanigans nothing too serious here though, I don’t think. With all that out the way, let’s go!

So in this Yui has been living with the Tsukinamis for a while. She’s chosen to be with Shin and Carla’s condition has seriously deteriorated, though he’s trying to hide it.

The dark situation parts are just Shin and Yui around the Tsukinami house in the demon world. In the first one Yui falls asleep and mutters Shin’s name, he finds her and there’s some teasing involved and some kissing. In the second one, Yui finds herself with a blindfold on and she doesn’t know where she is. Shin bites her. She thinks she’s been kidnapped until she recognises Shin’s touch. He takes the blindfold off and they kiss. In the third, she’s out on the roof enjoying the feeling of the wind. Shin joins her and she tells him the wind feels nice. He then locks her out on the balcony and it starts raining. He won’t let her back in until she says something about him making her feel good (general dialovers blood sucking stuff). Eventually he opens the doors and starts sucking her blood and gets her to say it feels good (I think she might pass out at the end or something, I’m not 100% sure. The screen goes black and you hear Shin’s voice). In the fourth, Yui’s wondering in the garden, think about Carla and Shin. Shin finds her they talk about something and he makes her think he’s going to bite her. He kisses her instead.

Shit starts to hit the fan in the story parts. Carla starts having some sort of fever dream, and sees Giesbach (his father). Shin goes to wake him up but Carla’s still partly dreaming and then starts to strangle Shin. Fortunately he wakes up in time and snaps himself out of it, but Shin realises that he got some of Carla’s blood on a wound (I think, well he definitely got some on him anyhow) and promptly freaks out because Endzeit (the disease Carla’s got) is spread through blood and is absolutely fatal to first bloods. He goes to wash it off and tell himself it’ll be fine, even though you can tell he doesn’t believe it. Carla then sends Shin and Yui to the human world (I’m not 100% sure on why he does this, I’ll play through and update later when I’ve looked up some of the kanji).  So Shin and Yui go to the human world and Shin’s still acting weird and fretting over the fact he thinks he’s got Endzeit. Yui notices he’s acting weirdly, goes to check up on and he takes out his frustration on her (this is where is route preview comes from, I’ve seen some people wondering if he rapes her, just to clarify I’m fairly certain he doesn’t, he forces some kisses on her and rips her clothes a bit but that’s all). After this incident they have a bit of a heart to heart. You get occasional flashes to Carla and see his condition is deteriorating (I actually thought he died at this point but turns out he just coughed a lot and collapsed). At some point in this section you also find out that Subaru’s taken over as head of the family (I believe he’s inherited Karlheinz’s powers in this route) and it isn’t going so well >_< In the manic prologue, Shin meets Kino at Kamimoshi tower (I couldn’t tell if this was arranged or just an accident, or what really transpired, sorry >_<) from what I could tell, Kino was a troll and Shin got pissed. Yui heads over to the Sakamaki house to talk to Reiji (Ayato and Laito show up briefly to say “Hey chichinashi/bitch-chan” before disappearing for the rest of the route). Reiji tells her that Subaru isn’t in a particularly good way and I believe he asks her to stay or at least to speak to him. Yui refuses and asks Reiji about Endzeit, he tells her a bit about it. Yui thanks them and leaves before going back to Shin. She tells him what she learned about Endzeit and possible brought back a book.

The maniac situation parts were adorable.  In the first one Yui and Shin leave the Tsukinami house in the human world and go to the city. I believe Shin threatens to suck her blood in public, but he was just teasing. They end up kissing in the street. In the second one they go for a walk in the woods but it suddenly gets really foggy. Yui loses sight of Shin. He finds her and they kiss again ♡＾▽＾♡ In the third one Yui’s in the kitchen making something. Shin turns up and is being all whiny. Yui apologies to him (I guess he was getting hungry or something, I don’t know). He then bites her as a punishment. Yui says she loves Shin and he continues sucking her blood. In the last one, Yui’s in the kitchen again, this time she’s making cookies with nuts in them. She tries to reach something but is too short. Shin comes in and she talks to him, I think she knocks something in process, cause Shin yells and grabs her and then there’s the sound of stuff falling over. Shin seems kind of shook up (I think he was worried about her dying or something) but they talk for a bit before making out yet again.

But of course the fluff can’t stick around for too long and we descend into the chaos that is the maniac story parts. Shin wants to go back to Carla and so Shin and Yui head back to the demon world. On their way to see Carla they head to Eden, where they find the Mukamis and stay with them for a bit. The Mukami’s reveal Eden is in a bad way because Subaru’s mindset isn’t great. Shin still thinks he’s got Endzeit, but with the information he got from Yui, he found out that one of the symptoms was the dark blotches on the body (I believe this was covered in Carla’s route in dark fate). He goes to the bathroom to check himself out but he seems to be fine. Rather than feel relieved he just feels unsettled because with the time that passed since he came into contact with Carla’s blood, they should have appeared by now. Shin then remembers all the times he’s come into contact with people with Endzeit and realises that he probably should have caught it ages ago. He’s wondering just what this means when Yui walks in on him and then they have a hug (there’s a CG here).

Shin wants to go back to Carla but is worried about taking her with him so he asks Ruki to look after her. He then leaves without saying goodbye to Yui. Shin runs through the forest and wonders if the fact he hasn’t caught Endzeit means he might not actually be a first blood (which is a big deal considering pretty much his whole mindset is built around his pride as a first blood and given that Carla’s about to die, he’s counting on Shin to carry on the first blood lineage). On the way he gets attacked by the vibora (I think they’ve started working with Kino, I don’t know >_<) he passes out in a cave and Kino finds him and drags him off to a dungeon. Yui overhears the Mukamis talking (I think they say something about Shin dying) and Yui begs them to let her go after Shin. They refuse and lock her in a room in Eden. In the meantime, Reiji tells Subaru something about Yui (I think he got a letter from Ruki telling him that yui was in Eden). Subaru heads to Eden and busts Yui out so she can go and find Shin.  In Kino’s dungeon, Kino taunts Shin and leaves him with the vibora king (I think his name has been romanised as Zweig?). The vibora king, tells Shin something about his mother, I believe it’s that she had relations with the prince of the wolf tribe. Of course given that Shin’s already unsure he’s really a first blood, this just makes it worse and he has a complete freak out that he may not be Carla’s real brother and such. Shin then has some sort of conversation with Kino and convinces him to let him go. They then head to the Tsukinami residence in the demon world. At the same time all this is going on, Carla leaves (I think he goes looking for Shin) and encounters the vibora. Now I’m not too sure what happens here cause in the ecstasy story parts you see Carla’s staying with the vibora but I couldn’t quite work out why. I don’t think he’s a prisoner because he’s not in a dungeon but I can’t see why else he’d stay with them. If anyone could help to clear this up for me, it would be much obliged. 

So after that shit storm, we have the ecstasy prologue in which Yui meets up with Shin and Kino. Shin immediately runs to Yui and they hug. Kino, as always, is a bit of a jerk. They head over to the Tsukinami house to find Carla’s gone and Shin freaks out.

The first few situation parts here weren’t as cute as the maniac ones because Shin’s angsty due to all the stuff that’s happened so far (I don’t blame him at this point I was a mess too). In the first one Yui goes into Shin’s room, she says something to set him off and he starts yelling about Carla and the vibora (think there may have been a reference to the incident with his eye in there). He seems to calm down a bit but then decides to get kind of intimate with Yui. I’m not sure exactly what happens but there’s some licking (from the sounds of it). I did actually look up some of the kanji for this one but there were multiple meanings that made sense but imply different levels of what might happen so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  In the second one, Yui goes to Shin’s room but he’s not there. She then goes out and finds him in the garden moping about Carla again. Yui says she wants to be useful to him, so what does he do? He bites her and sucks her blood. Yui says she loves him again and Shin says she really is a soft-hearted person. Shin gives her a small kiss from the sounds of it. In the third one Yui wakes up in Shin’s room. I think Yui says she’s thirsty and Shin then takes a sip of some water that was on the nightstand and then kisses Yui so she drinks it from his mouth (*^_^*) They talk for a bit and then Shin gives her good morning kisses. In the last one, Shin invites Yui to sleep in his room. They say goodnight and Yui starts to drift off but Shin can’t sleep so Shin calls out to Yui, I believe he says that he can’t sleep cause she’s there. He then kisses her or something and it tickles. And I believe they end up cuddling.

In the story parts, Shin finds some sort of documents about his mother visiting the prince of the wolf clan while she was married (seems like it at least implies an affair) and Shin starts to think that he may actually be the son of the prince of the wolf clan. He tells Yui about this and she comforts him and they have a hug while Shin’s having this sort of mental breakdown. Oh course frickin Kino finds out about this and is like “Oh so Tsukinami Shin isn’t actually a first blood” and was generally a bit of a dick. Shin and Yui head over to vibora territory where they meet up with Carla in the vibora king’s house. Carla is practically dead at this point and tells Shin that he needs to carry on the first blood lineage. Of course Shin thinks he isn’t a first blood and goes to tell Carla, but Yui signals that now isn’t the right time (not really the sort of thing you want to tell someone on their deathbed). Carla then collapses and Yui and Shin head downstairs  (I thought he’d died again cause his sprite faded and I couldn’t understand why they were so calm). And then cause Kino’s a complete jerkface he goes into Carla’s room and is like “oh by the way Shin isn’t actually a first blood.” (┛ಠДಠ)┛彡┻━┻ Like why would you do that?!? If I understood correctly he just did it cause he thought it would be funny!!! I mean I guess that if Carla then killed Shin in a rage before promptly dropping dead with Endzeit then Kino could have Yui but if that was his plan, I didn’t pick up on it.  Carla goes down to where Shin and Yui are and this is where the endings come in.

In the Brute end Carla pulls out a knife and tells Shin to die before stabbing him. He says that Shin can make up for deceiving him by dying. Yui holds Shin as he dies and Shin apologies to Carla. Shin thanks Yui and tells her he loves her (;﹏;) Yui tells Shin she loves him. Shin apologises with his final breath and dies. I think Carla kills the Vibora here too. Yui’s holding Shin’s body and crying and then frickin Kino appears. Kino tries to persuade Carla to go to Rotigenburg (something about being able to treat Endzeit). Carla’s having none of it and kills him, he then tells Yui to go but she’s still holding Shin’s dead body. He drags her off while she’s still shouting Shin’s name. Carla then takes her to Rotigenburg (I guess it was just in case Kino was telling the truth). From what I could tell, Kino was right about the fact that Endzeit could be treated in Rotigenburg... But he what he didn’t mention is that the reason it can be treated is because Carla turns into a ghoul and it doesn’t affect him anymore. But now all the first bloods are gone. If I read the last bit right, I think Carla was planning to kill himself (I could be wrong here) and asked his father to forgive him.

In the Manservant end it starts off just like the brute end with Carla pulling out a knife. He says something about Shin having dirty blood and taking him with him. Carla pulls Shin to the floor.Shin tries to tell him to stop and that it’s a misunderstanding but Carla isn’t listening. Carla tells Shin to die. There’s the sound of stabbing, Shin screams and shouts but then it sounds like Carla’s dying?!? Shin shouts for him over and over again but Carla’s dead. I can only guess that Shin struggled and ended up killing Carla by accident. Shin goes nuts and starts laughing. He says something about killing Carla and killing the last first blood. Shin then gets up and starts killing the vibora. He’s completely lost it at this point and just shouts “Die!” over and over again along with laughing manically. Then Kino shows up and reveals he told Carla and asks if Shin is going to kill him. He goes on about how Shin isn’t a first blood and that he’s just killed them off. Shin stabs Kino but Kino starts laughing and taunts Shin some more. Shin stabs him while telling him to shut up. Kino dies and Shin’s left panting. Shin tells Yui to return to the vampires before walking away. At the end Yui turns up at the Tsukinami house I think and knocks on the door but it doesn’t open. I don’t know what happened to Shin at the end of this but this ending was a bloodbath. It wasn’t quite as traumatic as the brute ending but bloody hell was it intense.

In the Vampire end, Carla hugs Shin and tells him that he is a first blood. I think he basically says he’s leaving everything to Shin and Yui before turning into ash and dying (for real this time). Shin’s upset and Kino then comes along and tells Shin that he told Carla that Shin wasn’t a first blood. Shin then kills Kino with magic and tells him he is a first blood. Shin and Yui go to see the wolf pack and they confirm that Shin is definitely a first blood (or at least something to that effect) and clear up the whole thing completely (I’m not sure if the fact Shin never caught Endzeit is explained but oh well). Shin then goes to see Subaru in the Sakamaki house in the demon world and you see that Subaru has freed Christa (this made me so happy). I believe Shin effectively takes control of the demon world and gives an address and Subaru is the first one to start clapping, followed by Reiji (I was almost crying at this point, it was very emotional).  In the final CG, Shin and Yui are having celebratory drink together. Finally Shin mentions something about Carla watching over him.

My thoughts Well that was traumatic ;-; Seriously I thought Carla died like three times before the actual ending because he’d just cough and collapse but then he’d appear later and I was just like “What are you doing here?!?”. It didn’t help that even he wondered if it was the end at times.

Anyway, that aside, I thought this route was awesome, I really loved the bit with Shin and Carla in the vampire end and I also loved the fact that Subaru got to free Christa. Shin was surprisingly sweet in some of the situation parts I thought, I mean you have the general dialovers blood sucking but there were some really nice moments. I was in Shinhell before playing this game but this just dragged me even deeper.

As a villain though, I wasn’t really sure about Kino, I mean he’d just show up at random points and then right at the end when he went and told a dying Carla about the fact that Shin might not be a first blood I was just like ლಠ益ಠ)ლ He felt more like a massive troll than a serious threat really, I guess that might be because he was never seriously after the Tsukinamis anyway. It says a lot that he dies in all three endings. I mean he was a complete idiot in them, especially the manservant end, I was like “Shin has just stabbed you and you want to taunt him some more?!?” I don’t know what he thought would happen.

I was a bit unsure on the whole “Shin may not actually be a first blood” thing. I mean it was a really good plot point and with the whole not catching Endzeit thing along with the letter, I did wonder breifly but I was never really convinced. I mean surely Carla and Giesbach would have noticed beforehand? I don’t know, I might have missed something due to all those kanji >_< but still.

Once I’ve done all the routes I’ll put them in order of my favourites but this one has set the bar high.

The Sakamaki prologue for Dark Fate was fascinating! I get so hyped at the mere mention of other clans in the universe that it saddens me more the aren’t talked about or explored enough. Also, Yui thinking about running away but remembering where would she even go is a nice touch and confirmation that there is nothing she can do.

Overall I’m really excited for the Tsukinami and Mukami’s prologues if you happen to translate them! Keep up the good work! ✨🌸
