☔ Is there a fic concept you have that you'd like to just explain and share because you're not sure you'll ever write it? If so, what is it?
Hello!! Uhh honestly an idea that would be kind of fire (to me) would be a LeBron/AD glucose guardian AU (phrased in this manner to avoid bots) of some sort đŸ€” I don’t know how exactly it would happen but I think it would lean into appropriate levels of soap opera-ness that the NBA has been for a hot minute now 😭 like how would AD end up in that situation?? Idk. Like what does AD do that leads him to decide being a partner of a questionably older man is the way to go? Who knows. But it’s funny and that’s all that matters. In this situation Kyrie will be the random ex/situationship who claims they are over LeBron but then their actions wildly fluctuate from their words. He will probably say stuff to annoy AD bc AD does not start off the relationship thinking he will find true love, but then also say things that seem to actually be encouraging. Truly a wildcard.
In the background D-Wade is amused by the whole thing as an ex of LeBron and will have drinks with him in a friendly way (basically question his friend’s type and generally serve to be the sounding board for which LeBron’s thoughts manifest). I suppose Kevin Love can also be there idk
Not sure if I would ever write this because I would have to think about what kind of jobs the characters would have and I tend to overthink I fear 😔 would be fun to read in a “not exactly ambitious plot but my id would be satisfied” way which is honestly the way to go for a lot of fic

Episode 12
I don’t think there actually is a Zamboni Transformer đŸ€” there should  be though
Jksfgdhjkshfdjk they’re so cute this show is so good
Like. This might be my new favorite Transformers show.                 Not exactly on the same level as Rescue Bots and it’s certainly never gonna replace it, but. Idk how to describe it. They’re co-favorites probably let’s just go with that
Jawbreaker’s head is so tiny compared to his hands
Oh boy
I noticed this last episode too but why are Hashtag’s hands so
beat up I guess? Idk I haven’t slept much and can’t think of words. The rest of her paint job is chipped too and it looks kinda weird compared to her face
Hsdjfkhsdjk;hfgksdjhfjk;dhfjk
Side note can I just say how glad I am that they’re not doing any of the “frame” nonsense.
OUGH BABY

. :cocoplead:
Yeah yeah wimin tough AND pretty. just pretend I put the Knuckles pic here again
Oh honey. Oof.
👀
Are we gonna find out what he was before. Like I know it was almost certainly a Cybertronian tank but I Want To Believe in gun altmode
So no comment about them not being able to cry, I see. Interesting.
And he’s panting so he’s breathing, right. maybe the gas from last episode WOULD have had some kinda effect
Oh hun.
It’s interesting Elita’s talking about all this when she was also joking about scanning a streetsweeper earlier lmao
It’s also kinda interesting that they keep framing it as this highly emotional thing that they have to think deeply about when the Terran kids have mostly done it by accident, lol
Tumblr media
Oh hey more Tagalog! Google translate says “bagyo” means tycoon/hurricane/tornado/etc.  which is I guess what the pattern on the box is supposed to be, and “ang sarap” is delicious
Side note but I would guess maybe the Terrans know English because Robby and Mo know it, but I wonder to what extent they understand Tagalog
Side side note but Alex says he grew up in Bohol, which apparently has its own dialect of Cebuano or is considered a separate language depending on who you ask? My point is I don’t know if people from there are usually fluent in both Boholano and Tagalog but I’m kinda curious as to why the showrunners would make him from there and then only ever mention Tagalog, especially since according to Wikipedia Cebuano actually had more native speakers than Tagalog until the 80s, which actually idk when exactly Alex is supposed to have been born but I’d think probably the 60s? That’s a whole other paragraph but I’ve already gotten wayyyyy too sidetracked. Anyway maybe it’s cuz his VA (Jon Jon Briones) is NOT from Bohol? Idk if he knows any kind of Cebuano wait I’m looking him up on Wikipedia and apparently he has a guest appearance on St Trek: Picard and his daughter is a main character??? He’s also mostly known for musical theater so basically he’s super cool                    hmm can you tell I don’t have adhd meds at the moment.   back to the show
Wait I lied one more thing. Back in episode 6 Alex mentioned his lolo and Bee was like “what?” and he told Bee that he’s from Bohol and Bee’s like “oh cool! I used to race at this abandoned airport in Tagbilaran” so did Bee just like. Not learn Tagalog or did he just not know that Alex speaks it. I feel like if he was hanging around long enough to regularly race there he shoulda picked up the language          but then again Tagbilaran is the capital of Bohol so maybe he’d’ve learned Boholano but also afaik lolo is the same for both languages so –
“everybody else” Nightshade is RIGHT THERE
So y’all just aren’t gonna show us the final movie, rude.

2021 Fanfic Year in Review
Thank you to @fericita-s for the tag! 😊
Total Completed Works: 23
Word Count: AO3 says 227,570 in 2021 though per discord’s writer-bot it was over 350,000 and I’d say a large chunk of that discrepancy is not stuff that isn’t finished yet but me rewriting my nonsense first-drafts.
Fandoms I’ve Written in: Bridgerton, Nancy Drew, Sanditon, Speed (1994), Ted Lasso, The 100 (TV) & 3 Georgette Heyer Novels
Looking Back, Did You Write More Fic Than You Thought You Would This Year, Less, Or About What You’d Expected?: More. I still didn’t finish some things I had wanted to but that was just me being over-ambitious, I had way more individual fics posted last year than I have before.
What’s Your Own Favorite Story Of The Year?: Hmmm, it’s hard to pick! Maybe my Bridgerton Polin Arranged Marriage AU If I Ever Dared because I was really pleased by how that all came together in the end.
Do You Have Any Fanfic Goals For The New Year?: Yes! Firstly, I have 2 lingering Bellarke prompts from last year that I need to complete, though have written a lot for one of those already. I also have a bunch of fics in various fandoms I’ve started that I’d like to complete. My faves are a Polin comedy-angst (if that is even a genre?) regency AU (I would love to have it posted before s2 of Bridgerton airs but I can’t quite figure out the ending for this one and I’m not really a ‘let’s see what happens’ writer so idk) and 2 shorter Sanditon Charlotte/Stringer fics (one modern AU, one regency). Other goals are dependent on whether I sign up for Fandom Trumps Hate again or not, I haven’t decided.
Most Popular Story Of The Year?: If I base it on kudos alone it would be Slow Hands, my regency version of the ‘walking in on someone’ trope for Polin, which I was v surprised by given the fic only got written to begin with because I got bored during a quarantine.
Story Of Mine Most Under-Appreciated By The Universe, In My Opinion: I wanna say my Speed fic, but it’s not exactly an active fandom so no surprise there?
Most Fun Story To Write: Both the epistolary fic I wrote for Georgette Heyer’s Cotillion ‘Dispatches’ at the end of the year, and the texting modern AU fic I wrote for Polin week ‘what’s in a name?’ made me laugh a lot while writing.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story: Either my Charlotte/Stringer hurt/comfort holiday fic ‘where the lovelight gleams’ or the angsty Bellarke modern AU ‘Delicateâ€™Â đŸ€”
Biggest Disappointment: Ehh, fanfic is for fun and not for lingering on any disappointments! 😊
Biggest Surprise: That I managed to finish so many things and keep them as one shots?
Tagging: @excuseyouclarke @carrieeve @mylifeiskara And whoever wants to do it, feel free to tag me when you answer! 💕

Top 5 Instagram Algorithm Myths – Debunked
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Every social media platform sparks its share of rumors, and the Instagram algorithm is no different.
Despite the mystery and conspiracy theories, businesses have caught on to the fact that, for most consumer brands, an Instagram presence is mandatory.
Instagram boasted over 1 billion active monthly users as of June 2018 – behind Facebook but ahead of Twitter. Plus, Instagram’s largest demographics hail from the United States, Brazil, and India – some of the world’s largest markets!
Whether you’re using Instagram for growing your business or simply trying to reach an audience for fun and engagement, understanding how the algorithm works is key to reaching your goals.
It’s time to pull the mask off and debunk the top Instagram algorithm myths we’ve heard.
Busting the Top 5 Instagram Algorithm Myths
While platforms like Facebook lay their rules bare, Instagram is a little less transparent.
Of course, mystery creates a recipe for rumors to spread, so it’s time to put these Instagram myths to rest for good.
1. “Instagram is Shadowbanning My Account or Specific Posts”
Shadowbanning is the concept that a platform hides a specific user’s posts from the hashtag feeds or searches of those not following you, which obviously would have detrimental effect on your reach and follower growth!
Instagram has categorically denied shadowbanning. Instead, the platform recommends staying up to date on the Instagram algorithm for 2019 so you’re always following best practices.
We can hear you now: “Yes, that sounds exactly like something someone who’s shadowbanning accounts would say.” đŸ€”
Instagram Truth:
According to Instagram aficionado Jenn Herman, it really boils down to posting like a spammer or bot.
“If you are constantly posting content with only super popular hashtags, tagging people who are not in your posts (all the time), leaving spammy comments like ‘great pic, we should connect,’ playing follow/unfollow games, or other annoying behaviors, you’re a spammer.
And Instagram knows what you’re doing. So your posts are gonna get hidden and blocked.”
In other words, it’s possible to use a disallowed hashtag that may not appear in searches, but your other hashtags WILL. It’s absolutely not the case that using a “banned” hashtag will deactivate all your hashtags or otherwise doom your post to obscurity.
SOLUTION:
Stay on top of Instagram algorithm changes and updates (by reading our blog!) to understand what qualifies as spam. Instagram knows that people sometimes include the hottest hashtags, even if they’re irrelevant or have become overused and thus “banned” or deactivated to gain followers and engagement – not because they want to add value to the conversation, for example.

2. “Instagram Punishes Me for Using a Third-Party Post Scheduler”
It’s easy to see where this myth came from.
Social media platforms like Instagram have an algorithm and community guidelines in place to make sure content on their websites are 100% authentic.
No one likes bots. It makes sense that the Instagram algorithm would classify posts from third-party schedulers as bot traffic, flag them as spam, and repress the reach, right?
Instagram Truth:
Nope!
The truth is, Instagram has public code available called an API. We won’t dive into the details about how a public API works here, but it exists so that other – legitimate – apps can connect to Instagram and schedule posts.
Scheduling posts through a third-party app like Tailwind can actually boost your engagement and reach because they help you post content consistently.
SOLUTION:
Most accounts owners who claim Instagram represses third-party posts aren’t posting original content – they’re posting scraped content from an RSS feed. Don’t copy-paste the same content across the entire internet. Schedule fresh posts for Instagram through Tailwind.
Get started with Tailwind for Instagram.
3. “My Life Totally Isn’t Insta-Worthy”
Aw, this one is sad and we’re happy to debunk it!
Some people have an idea in their head that you shouldn’t post on Instagram if you aren’t traveling to Machu Pichu or running a marathon. In the same breath, these folks will tell you that Instagram is filled with narcissistic fake people living fake lives and posting fake photos for likes.
It’s no joke – this concept has even led Instagram to experiment with removing like counts.
Instagram Truth
The truth is, anything can be interesting – fixing pipes, baking your favorite family recipe, hanging out with your cat. (Whose cat doesn’t have an Insta account?!)
SOLUTION:
People want authentic content they can relate to.
Photos from a luxury Airbnb villa off the Italian coast are nice to look at – but it’s hard to relate to that type of photo. Honestly, you’re better off brushing up on some video and photography skills so you can highlight your very real and very interesting “mundane” life.
4. “The Instagram Algorithm is Hiding My Posts”
Somewhere along the way, a rumor took hold that a recent Instagram algorithm change was maliciously hiding posts from users’ newsfeeds and only displaying 7% of posts.
Instagram Truth:
It’s not often that Instagram speaks publicly about their algorithm, but on this occasion, they took to Twitter to break their silence on the claims that:
“We have not made any recent changes to feed ranking, and we never hide posts from people you’re following – if you keep scrolling, you will see them all. Again, your feed is personalized to you and evolves over time based on how you use Instagram.”
SOLUTION:
Instagram shows posts in feeds based on what people interact with. If your engagement is down, focus on creating content that engages your audience by asking questions and starting conversations. In turn, your posts will start showing up in more feeds, more often.
5. “Switching to a Business Account Hurt My Reach”
The business account killer myth stems from the Page Apocalypse on Facebook when the algorithm update made small business pages virtually vanish from newsfeeds in favor of posts from real-world connections.
Instagram Truth:
Luckily for us, the same logic doesn’t transfer to Instagram. Business accounts are good for squeezing engagement and growth from Instagram.
SOLUTION:
Use Instagram to your full advantage with a business account. Personal accounts aren’t hyperlink-friendly, but business accounts let you add buttons, contact information, and track analytics AND they allow for auto posting of images and videos.
Instagram Myth Busting
The Instagram algorithm in 2019 may seem mysterious and confusing, but that doesn’t mean the platform is out to get you.
Instagram does not shadowban posts or accounts.
Instagram won’t limit your reach because you use a post scheduler.
Everyone can tell their story on Instagram.
Instagram isn’t hiding your posts.
Switching to a business account can actually improve your reach – not damage it.
Start by making a few tweaks to your copy, hashtags, and posts. Figure out what’s working and what’s not.
