i have to say i find the way ppl talk abt gaylors to be strange…..i’m not one myself but as a lesbian i don’t like the way ppl act like gaylors are evil somehow for calling tswift a lesbian like in reality who cares…….truly i think it’s bc they r the only mainstream group of women speculating on the sexuality of a celebrity woman to that degree of fame. bc tswift fans who r obsessed w her heterosexual dating life r not in any way subject to scrutiny by ppl in general no one cares. and as much as there has been general debates on the ethics of speculating the sexualities of celebrity men and making fun of ppl that do there is a vastly different tone abt it. like ppl make fun of them and say they shouldn’t do it and whatnot (although i would like to point out that similarly this is mostly done by woman & all of this very much takes on a look at these silly women tone) but like there is a tone of superiority around ppl who dunk on gaylors and very much a tone of like look at these delusional women who have convinced themselves that someone sooooo obvs heterosexual is a lesbian aren’t they crazy. there is smth in particular abt talking abt a woman possibly being a lesbian that really rubs ppl the wrong way perhaps bc it is the antithesis of a woman’s role & it makes ppl uncomfortable to think a celebrity woman who has been marketed to them as being an ideal woman could potentially defy her expected role……i personally don’t think she is a lesbian but like other ppl calling lesbians delusional for thinking she is bothers me……so i am coming out to you all as a gaylor ally i stand w gaylors

Anyone thinking that Kaylors/Larries/Camrens etc make up the majority of their fanbases are kidding themselves and need to look outside online fanbases. That’s not to say these subsets of people aren’t impactful in their delusion with how they spread certain mentalities and how they affect the dynamic but these ships rely on being online and having access to all the timelines/‘evidence’/resources to continue to convince yourself it’s real. If they did make up the majority of these people’s fans then the two people involved would be a lot more equal in success because of this support….which they aren’t. Taylor, Harry etc sell millions of copies of albums and play sold out shows to tens of thousands of people. Karlie (in other ways), Louis, Lauren etc don’t do that, because their audiences and demographics are not the same as those who are bigger than them. The scope and reach goes far beyond the chronically online takes of Kays, Larries etc for those bigger artists, the same for other celebrities dealing with conspiracy theorists like Benedict Cumberbatch

Right like people who get pressed about tinhats are weird to me. Tinhattery of all flavors is amusing to me but like… besties it’s tinhattery. Benedict Cumberbatch wasn’t cast as Doctor Strange because of the gay Sherlock truthers. Taylor doesn’t get #1 after #1 because of Kays. Harry isn’t playing a sold out tour with his girlfriend cheering him on front row because of Larries. It’s just… not true.

These are very online fandoms that drive up engagement for sure, but they’re… very online fandoms that require being very online to even know about.

Larry is a pop culture joke at this point, see Euphoria. People who follow online shit actively have heard of Kaylor but it just takes like a young Google to know if it ever happened - I am of the opinion it didn’t but I wasn’t always - it’s over now. Most people haven’t heard of Camren or the Benny tinhats (everyone invested in online stuff knows about his Cumberbitches tho 💀) or J Squared or whatever. It’s just… not a big deal lol and like acting like this is a core demographic is just untrue.

Lover made a lot of people - including people who weren’t very invested - think she might come out bi. These people did not think she’d reveal a secret wife lol, just that she - like most pop stars of her generation - would be like “yay girls! I kiss them sometimes!” And then she didn’t and everyone shrugged and moved on.

Hetty truthering and shitting on Gaylors is a disease and it’s like a worse disease than Kaylorism because at least most Kaylors just long for representation from an artist they admire.

Like WHO CARES what someone says? Not Taylor, she’s at minimum not a homophobe. Not Joe, who is also not a homophobe and has BDE for days. So who are you doing this for? Again, I understand correcting people who get stuff factually wrong or beefing with people as a response to their beef with u but beyond that??? It’s fucking FUNNY because it’s NOT TRUE.

Imagine being a KStew fan and loving her relationship with Dylan and going to beef with HatersKnowNothing or the pendulum girl. You wouldn’t. Because you’d be like “lmao bunch of nutcases.”
