One of the main things I dislike about book 2 Lestat vs book 1 Lestat is it just takes away a lot of the interesting mystery about his character in the first book to have him definitively answer everything like: "oh actually I WAS hiding a bunch of secrets of the vampire universe and rules and hierarchy and history from you the entire time, and actually I WAS also filthy rich secretly the entire time due to a treasure left to me by my maker and didn't actually need you for your money at all, and also I wasn't a bit insecure about my lower class upbringing and poorer education and trying to compensate for that by being both showy and secretive about myself I was actually a noble, and also I CAN do a bunch of other vampire things that I never taught you to do or did in front of you even though we lived together in the same house as a family for like 70 years, and yes I DO hate following rules and doing what I'm told and keeping secrets but I did it because Marius said your fragile minds couldn't handle the truth if I DID tell you anything else, and also I DIDN'T want any revenge on Claudia or blame her for attempting to murder me or think I maybe should undo what I did by making her one bit, I was just being forced by the even EVILLER vampire to have her condemned to death, and also almost everything questionable or problematic or cruel that I did within the first book was either a lie told by Louis or secretly actually a kind and heroic thing I did because I cared about someone other than myself, IN FACT I SECRETLY THE ENTIRE TIME HAD A STRICT MORAL CODE I WAS FOLLOWING every time I casually killed an innocent npc in the first book, and whenever you watched on in horror at my cruelty and toying with my victims I was actually only killing scummy evildoers and Louis was just too dumb and romanticizing of humans to ever see it etc..." like FINE WHATEVER, I GUESS hahaha but I actually kind of liked you better when you were a bit meaner and a bit petty and a bit imperfect and a bit lame

#also he gets so powerful so quickly that its just like too much to me kinda #ANYWAYS i feel like this is maybe an unpopular opinion but idk #its hard to articulate exactly what i mean but it sort of undermines a lot of the stuff i like about the first book as a standalone tale #even though theres def stuff i like about the continuing lore and worldbuilding in the rest of the series as well #like i think louis is too hard on book one lestat sometimes because louis is always looking at and judging things from a human pov #and Lestat is like looking at things from a totally different one himself #and as the reader that made me feel like lestat was maybe a bit more valid and less awful than Louis was constantly making him out to be?#and i feel like even louis eventually reaches some of those kinds of conclusions himself later on #when he doesnt really find the answers that he seeks #like oh maybe he was just kind of a sad pathetic dude in his own way and i was trying to force him to have all the answers in an unfair way #or holding him to human morals and standards that no longer apply the same to us now #which only works if lestat as a character didnt actually have all the answers hahahaha #or wasnt also holding himself to those human moral standards #do ya know what i mean...#interview with the vampire spoilers #the vampire lestat spoilers #vampire chronicles spoilers #p #vmpcs

Can I be honest, this might be a controversial Kirby opinion but I think... They peaked with Magolor for Boss battles and design... Now I know that's saying a lot considering Star Dream and the blue guy from Forgotten Land exist, but honestly, Magolor's song, background and design (especially Soul design) is iconic.

The scene where it turns all white and his crown upgrades? It is my very first thought if Kirby bosses get brought up. Maybe it's nostalgia speaking but I don't really have much of an attachment to the other bosses. I think they kind of drag on a bit too long, though I do think the inside of Void Termina is also kind of iconic but only for it's stage.

Ok so like, after Magolor, Sectonia has an iconic music piece, I think it's matched or maybe a bit higher on my personal tier list for Kirby boss music. Star Dream's design overall is iconic to me, I love robot stuff. Void Termina's staging is kind of very pretty and the final scene with Elfilis with the truck is pretty cool... But I don't think any of them ever matched up with Magolor for me personally.

Like even past Star Dream I can't remember Void Termina or Elfilis's boss music. I think Kirby music has gotten a bit more... Grandiose? I could be wrong and maybe it's just my taste in music but I think they've kind of complicated a bit more of the simple melody Kirby would have for it's boss music, but I don't know, I'm not a music expert. All of this is just my opinion though

Though I think Star Dream is probably 2nd place though, I just don't think it needed 5 million phases because good lord it's so long. Also I think the difference between it and Magolor's fight is that Magolor's is a lot more personal, since you can use any abilities he throws at you or fight him just as Kirby, while you fight as Halberd against Star Dream. You have to think a lot more on what to do with Magolor's fight compared to Star Dream where you spam A. I don't know where I'm going with this, I just think Magolor's fight is peak, and I still think he has the best Soul Design next to probably Sectonia Soul.

I'm actually kind of mad after wearing a knee brace (with patella support!) for 2 days because I just went down for breakfast not wearing it and my kneecap was wobbling loosely in its socket like it's done for years and I could FEEL how wrong it was and just had the biggest "you LIVE like this??!" moment and now i GUESS I am wearing a knee brace every time I go near stairs forever because it turns out it's not ideal if parts of your body have their own plans for every joint movement.

#mad at myself for not even noticing it was weird even though I've known I have the stretchy joints for years now #honestly I need a full like. Scientific observation from behind glass hooked up to machines and doing silly little tasks for science week #please find out what is happening in here #I also got 1 ankle support and out of curiosity slept in it last night #and omg one foot resting upright made me realise how much the other was flat on the bed #when I lay on my back #the same thing that got me diagnosed in the first place #the rheumatologist who'd just told me I don't have cancer because of the bloodwork had me lie down to examine #he took one look at my flat fuck friday feet and like actually yelled in alarm and recoiled #which took some explaining #anyway he poked and prodded me but he already had said 'oh you have hypermobility and it's given you fibro'#this is why specialists also have to keep up with all the other medicines too :P #(i spent a weekend with my medic friend recently and she has Stories oh my god)#(was too busy talking to look at my feet even as I told her I'd dislocated my ankle and knee as we talked XD)#POINT IS I'm very slow to notice things about my condition #I quit chocolate for a year because I worried it was giving me migraines #and was too busy having migraines to notice the chocolate wasn't what gave me migraines

been going through the sumeru archon quest finally (met alhaitham)(my camera roll is just a hundred screenshots of his face)(I'm perfectly normal about him wym) and i think i get why people say comparing him to ratio isn't exactly correct but talking to him does feel like talking to ratio in a surprisingly uncanny way I can't even lie about that

#most of what i know about haitham atp is what i already knew before playing let's start with that #but from what i gathered the main difference with ratio is that ratio is so ambitious his goals cover innumerable galaxies #while haitham really onlt wants to be left alone to chill in peace #given that at least for ratio that's p much the core of his character I'd say it's normal to think they aren't all that similar #but the things they say......the way they interact with people.......the tone they use when talking even...........#if you ignore their life goals i feel like #at least for how much i know haitham now that is #the main difference between them is that maybe ratio is more caring than haitham #but maybe haitham is nicer than ratio #? does that make sense #haithams way of helping is nicer #but he doesn't care to help as much as ratio does #at the same time ratio is harsher with his words and actions than haitham is #but every single one of his actions is meant to care #haitham will sit and look at you and wait for you to find your own answers #which is Extremely ratio of him they both give super strong professor vibes #at more than one point he was like why are you asking when you know the answer #this is something ratio has said way more than once too #but maybe I feel like ratio asks to teach you how to think #and haitham asks because he'd prefer it if you didn't bother him #at the same time tho haitham will more easily hold your metaphorical hand when reaching a conclusion #while ratio will actively antagonize you just to make sure you're truly sure of what you're saying #it's the feeling they've been giving me #how do i say this #it's less their words and attitudes that are different since they match nearly perfectly #and more the intentions behind their words and attitudes #?#then again #I'm still investigating the hospital so this is just my initial understanding of haitham #maybe i got him completely wrong
