This ran a little gosh darn long ( ´△｀)

“Can you do me a favor and administer this to patient twenty-four, please?” you ask of your co-worker, handing her a syringe chock-full of powerful meds. It’s a color unlike any kind of medicine you’ve ever seen before, a deep silver. The container marked with explicit red letters warning that it’s for twenty-four, and twenty-four only. You’re only asking her because you have ten other patients on your plate, three of which are very, very demanding, but the medicine is time sensitive and needs to be given within the hour. It is his last dose.

She turns her nose up at the syringe. “Patient twenty-four? Hell no…” she says.

“Excuse me?”

“I’m not helping that patient anymore, there’s something wrong with him.” She crosses her arms and shakes her head emphasizing her refusal.

“Yeah. That’s why he’s here,” you say with a roll of your eyes.

“He growled at me. Like an animal.” She shrugs, dismissing the bewildered look on your face, stubborn and unmoving. “Someone else can help him.”

“I’ll be sure to report this conversation to the medical board if he ever passes from neglect.” Slamming the syringe down on the metal tray you pick it up and head on out to do the simple task yourself.

“Wait, wait, wait,” she begs, holding up both her hands in a surrender, “I’ll take all three of your button pushers, plus one… if you’ll deal with twenty-four.”

“Fine,” you say, turning around on your heel and holding your chin high. You’ll spare her the lecture sitting on the tip of your tongue. One on choosing to work in a hospital that specializes in unique, often strange patients with “no names” and highly classified files, for more than the standard legal reasons. Maybe she should find a run of the mill hospital if she’s going to wimp out when one of the patients exhibits slightly frightening behavior…

… Besides, her offer is actually an immense relief off of your back. The ‘button-pushers’ have caused you far more stress than twenty-four ever has. The fewer patients you have the sooner you can sleep, you’re running on empty right now. “…And. You’re going to take patient thirteen– he needs to be shaved.”

She looks down at her wrist, a holographic chart pops up. She taps on four different files and then says, “You got a deal. Enjoy your lighter workload.”

You nearly thanked her, already felt the weight lifted off of your shoulders; it shows in the way you leisurely walk to the patient’s room, but then remember that she’s only taking them so she can safely avoid said patient, and are glad that you didn’t give thanks.

The door to his room can only be opened via a hand and eye scan, as well as a password, given to the AI. After forking over all three components, the AI announces your presence as the door slides open.

“Good afternoon, twenty-four.”

“You again,” the man says as his custom as his form of hello.

“Yes; it is me, again.”

He watches you carefully as you approach his bedside. “No one else works here?” he asks.

You sigh as you administer the medication into one of his IVs (he has three total, all in the same arm). “…The rest of the nurses are scared of you.”

“They should be. You should be too.”

“Oh, please! Spare me the dramatic statements, alright? I’m too exhausted for that nonsense right now.”

“As you wish,” he grumbles. He growls as he lays back further into the bed as the medicine enters his system.

You’ll admit that there is something about the man that makes you uneasy… that rumble must have been something akin to the growl that had thrown off your co-worker. You could speculate, and speculate, and speculate some more about who this man is, and what he does outside of sitting in a hospital bed being treated for…. whatever it is he’s being treated for, and you’d probably never come up with the right guess.

It’d be best for you not to. Having too much knowledge is dangerous in your line of work. Just do your job, and go home with a nice paycheck.

Staring at the middle of his chest where his voice rumbles the most you find yourself wondering… perhaps a morbid thought, what the man’s insides look like, what they’re made up of. What makes his voice sound like that? What causes the flits of smoke wisping from his mouth, the corners of his eyes? You’re only given the bare necessities in terms of his medical history, what’s required to ensure his recovery.

No scans, X-rays, no blood results. You’re not even privileged with the nature of what injury he’s recovering from. From the looks of him, you’d say it has to be something internal. Everything to the naked eye seems to be fine. He’s clearly a battle-worn soldier. Skin is… a little greyer than normal, but the richness of his brown color still shines through. None of his scars look fresh…

“What hour are you on?” he asks.

“Um…” You stumble to remember the answer, close your eyes to concentrate. Both because twenty-four must have noticed the faraway stare, so you’re flustered, and because you’re dead tired. “…Hour thirty-six, soon.”

He chuckles, low, and villainous. “Tired already?”

You tilt your head to the side studying his face. His supernatural tone of voice is hard to pick apart. You can’t tell if he’s being sarcastic or if the air of judgment in his words is real.

“Yes. I am. They made super soldiers, but they didn’t make super nurses. I am only human,” you sigh and pinch the bridge fo your nose, “…unfortunately.”

“That’s far from unfortunate. Stay that way, would you? Don’t become a freak like the rest of us.”

You hmph as your smartwatch chimes multiple times, alerting you to several texts. “I’ll try,” you say as you check it. Finding messages from your cowardly co-worker.

When you flick the screen away and look back up the man is sporting a similar type of faraway look you must have had but a few moments earlier. Except his is far more concerning than yours was. Now you’re on high alert, heart picking up its pace, hummingbird thumping against your ribcage. It’s situations like this when you desperately wish you knew the patient’s name.

“Twenty-four? Twenty-four?! Are you alright?”

You should call his doctor but you don’t. You reach for his hand and lean in to cup his face (uncharacteristically unprofessional for you). As soon as your hand touches his he snatches it up so quickly and so tightly that you yelp. His skin vibrates against both of your hands, goes momentarily translucent, and for a second you thought he was going to disappear right before your eyes.

He meets your intense gaze with one that is even more so, near sapping. His eyes flit back and forth… searching for something. A shiver runs sharp down your spine, your breath shudders out from your chest. The man’s grip on your hand is boarding on painful, but the room has become so electrically charged that you hardly pay any attention to the discomfort.

“What’s happening?” you whisper.

“Don’t freak out,” he says gruffly. He leans forward until his forehead is just shy of pressing against yours. “You always panic. Do not call that–” the man groans, closes his eyes, and grits his teeth as his skin starts to vibrate again– “Do not sick that shrew of a woman on me…”

“A- always? Wh- what?” The circumference around your head tightens like a rubber band, throbbing settles on each of your temples. A frustrating fog settles around your brain as you try to figure out what he could be talking about. This has never happened before, you’ve never “freaked out” on the job.

His free hand flies up with such ferocity it seemed he was going to smack you in the face. But it comes to a gentle stop, and he cups your jaw. His thumb strokes intimately across your cheekbone. “Don’t scream,” he demands.

His grip on your hand is becoming unbearable. “Twenty–”

“Gabriel, my name is Gab–”

His words cut off as all of the sudden he bursts into a dark black plume of mist. It surrounds you, pressures your ears, and suppresses your sight. You lose your equilibrium, falling over onto the hospital bed, hyperventilating. Maybe you’re freaking out, but you manage not to scream.

The mist moves away from you to the head of the bed. You watch it waft and evanescence with awe, you’ve never seen anything quite like this in your time working here.

“Gabriel?”

The smoke forms back into a man, but not as you just knew him. Dressed not in a hospital gown, but in a long black coat, hood up, with his back to you.

“Gabe?!”

He sighs, exaggerated, and long; rolls his shoulders, cracks his neck from side to side. “That’s much better.” Gabe carefully turns to face you, slowly revealing himself to now be masked. Not just masked. Infamously masked. The world-renowned, cold-blooded terrorist known to the public as the “Reaper.”

Reaper seems so much bigger, far more of a menace now that he’s revealed himself to be, well, the Reaper. Clad in black, and not humbled by hospital blankets, and a soft blue gown.

“I’ve always liked the way you say my name,” he croons.

There’s that word again… always. “I’ve never said your name before… why do you keep saying things like that?” Your heart won’t stop racing, suddenly all of your fatigue is weighing you down like an anvil dropping into the deep ocean.

“It’s time for you to take a nap.”

You shake your head. “Can you explain?”

“You sleep; when you wake up… I’ll explain. That’s the deal. Take it or leave it.”

You’re right on the precipice of having no choice but to rest. If you stood right now you’re almost sure that you’d black out. So instead of fighting it any more, you lay back on the bed, now watching Reaper’s every move as he grabs a chair, pulls it up, and sits down.

You stare at him with glassy eyes, until they tear over, and roll down your cheeks. He leans forward, rests his elbows on his knees.

“Close. Your. Eyes.”

Once your heavy lids fall closed there’s no opening them again. Sleep settles in your muscles, weighs down your consciousness. But you still have just one more question.

“Why do you act like you know me?” Your voice cracks, protesting your question.

“Because I do, you’re always my nurse.”

“Always.” You laugh maniacally. The chair screeches as he scoots closer. A jolt of electricity shoots through your chest as a metal talon glides from the point of your chin to your ear. “…This was my first time treating you, I think… I would remember meeting the infamous Reaper.”

He laughs, you can feel the smugness radiating off his body. “You always say that,” he says, traced with longing.

“Oh… fuck you… cryptic bastard…”

Reaper watches you drift off, painful adoration tugging at his heart. Your pursed lips slack with sleep, you snore softly. As soon as he tries to leave this room Moira will wipe your memory of him. Just as she does every nurse who helps take care of the Talon agents. Keeping them aware, but not too aware. To ensure no one runs their mouth, and identities stay hidden. Especially with agents like him, falling for nurses like you, and spilling secrets due to pesky romantic feelings.

He who is of the resentful opinion that it is what’s best for you, the option that will keep you the safest. He’ll threaten the mad scientist with death if she dares take too much, dares to mess with your genetics the way she did him. He can hear her grating laughter now, her swearing she’d never dream of incurring his wrath. Even if he knows how it will go, he still threatens. His protective nature doesn’t allow him to do anything else.

Reaper stands and looms over your sleeping form. In his line of work, there will always be more injuries, more nanobot transplants. The next mission may leave him under your care for weeks, he can’t say that doesn’t sound half bad. He looks forward to meeting you again, and again, and again.

i wanna talk about something thats been on my mind and has been affecting me pretty heavily lately. im only okay with talking about this because not many irl’s follow me and i think im okay with the ones that do knowing about it, and tumblr has been my venting place for many years. and shit, this is gonna be so long that i’d be surprised if anyone actually read the whole thing, and i’ll most likely delete this. but here we go

so i guess i’ll start with the fact that i’ve always made the majority of my friends - and my closest friends - through the internet. so i follow, add and communicate with people i dont personally know because that’s how ive met almost all of my closest friends.

i met someone through facebook that is an alumnus of the organization i was/am in. this happened when i was 18, had just ended my first relationship of 5 years, and in all honesty, desperately needed someone to lean on. i believe he reached out to me first. he was 5 years older than me, and i’ve honestly always been intimidated by age differences, in the form of submission, if that makes any sense. we talked almost everyday, not about anything significant but i’ve always been someone who falls really hard, really fast, even(/especially) without reciprocation. i’m also horrendous at reading people when it comes to intimacy/affection. and even though this guy was 5 years older than me, had also previously been in a long term relationship (which is usually a clear indicator that they’re most likely not looking for another relationship any time soon) and never actually showed any sign of interest past friendship in me, i was fucking swoon.

we eventually ended up going to see a movie, and even though he clearly said when he asked me, “not like a date or anything”, i still saw it that way, because yes, that’s how i was at the age of 18. i never got to experience dates or first times other than the ones i experienced with my ex so i was horrible at them, and he could tell. i think he could tell a lot about how naive and inexperienced i was in a lot of things and took advantage of it.

shortly after that, he asked if i wanted to “hang out” one night. an important thing to note here is that he worked in a place that had him working graveyard shifts, so there’s only two times i’ve seen him that weren't at night. another important thing to note is that as obvious as it may seem to any other person, because i’d only been with my ex at this point, i didn’t know that there’s normally only one reason that someone wants to “hang out” so late. but in my defense, he told me that maybe we could “go to the beach or something.” i also didn’t have a car yet at this time so he picked me up. when i got in his car and he started driving, he asked what i wanted to do and i said i was okay with whatever he wanted to do. so he said we could hang out at his place. i don’t think i need to further explain what happened, but it wasn’t non-consensual. i didn’t know exactly how to handle what was happening but i didn’t say no.

i think this happened a few more times, one of which he was clear with why he wanted me over and i agreed. i was under the impression that we were in some sort of “relationship”, because i didn’t know at this point that sex and feelings could be mutually exclusive. but eventually he would stop talking to me days at a time until i realized he had no feelings invested in me. i eventually let it go but continued to look up to him sort of as a friend, but mostly as someone to go to when i needed guidance or advice because i was never able to disconnect from the thought of being submissive to him. a slightly insignificant part of that is that i am normally very adamant about paying for and in general taking care of myself in any situation but when he’d refuse to let me pay for anything i went along with it because of the way i saw him. he’d kinda painted himself as someone who would take care of me, in a sense. or maybe that was just part of how i perceived things. but anyways;

anytime we would actually hang out after this, things always took a turn in ways i wasn’t comfortable with. he would grab me by the neck and claim it to be “playful”, put his hands through my hair and pull it as he put his face uncomfortably close to mine, hold me down, etc. even though i was uncomfortable, i still at that point was unable to see what was wrong with that because of the way i had grown to know our “relationship”.

there were times where, when we would hang out - outside of his house - we would hold hands and at that point i’d seen it as platonic, since i’d platonically held hands with a few friends other than him. once at a school/organization event we’d walked around holding hands and i didn’t think much of it. he brought me in and held me, and at that point i was beginning to grow uncomfortable because i was/am in a relationship. i pulled away but he did this a few more times.

later on in the night he’d walked me to my car but we were quite a distance away from his, so i gave him a ride back to his car. i got out to give him a hug before leaving but he kept me there for a while. he did his usual bit of pulling my hair and grabbing my neck, and smacked my ass a few times. i told him to stop multiple times but he didn’t take me seriously. eventually i was able to leave after hugging him and him holding me for an uncomfortably long amount of time. i later told my boyfriend and he didn’t have much of a response other than “okay” and “thanks for telling me”. i don’t think he knew how to handle the situation or if it needed handling. i don’t really hold that against him.

the last time i’d hung out with him was a typical instance of “let’s hang out tonight”. i should have said no. he picked me up, and we ended up at his house, which was the first time since we’d last slept together. the familiar routine of taking shoes off in the garage, walking up the stairs in the dark, and walking into his room already made me uncomfortable. but he knew i was in a relationship. i’d talked about my partner all the time with him. i didn’t think i had to worry about being pushed into anything.

i struggled to keep the conversation going so that there wasn’t time for awkward silence. no time for him to get too close. but still, he’d grab me by the throat. still pull my hair. got on top of me. i was uncomfortable. started grinding against me. i was extremely uncomfortable. trying to make it clear that i was uncomfortable and wanted him off of me, said “are you trying to rub your dick on me?” he got off. but he got back on top of me not too long after, joking about how he was “rubbing his dick on me”. i tried to move. he eventually got off. but he started touching me. there. i moved his hand. i said it was time to go home. he did it again. i moved his hand, again. told him to stop. he grabbed my arm and did it again. then reached over and turned off the light. i told him to stop. he got on top of me. i said no. i said i didn’t want to have sex. he said he just wanted to make me cum.

it didn’t go as far as sex. but it was still painful. i was sore and swollen for maybe two days after. after a few days i was able to talk about it with my boyfriend. i felt like it was my fault. i honestly still do. i shouldn’t have went. i shouldn’t have continued to trust him after how many times i felt uncomfortable. but i did. my boyfriend didn’t blame me. he asked me if i had any intention of pressing charges, or at the very least, telling my dad. hell no, i didn’t. that would ruin his fucking life. but why do i feel that way if it’s not supposed to be my fault?

this thanksgiving i’ll be in new york, marching in the macy’s thanksgiving day parade. i’d asked him before all this happened if he’d go on the trip, and eventually talked him into it. i thought after not talking to him for 3 months, he would have dropped out, but he didn’t. i considered dropping out of the trip. at this point, i’m no longer having fun. the only reason i’m still going is because my entire family knows i’ll be there, as well as all my parent’s friends they’ve told. to make it easier on myself i switched from playing first part to second, to avoid having to be next to him since i assumed that he’d be on first. our director put him on second. he now stands next to me at rehearsals.

i was told that i should inform the staff of what happened and get him removed from the trip, but i cant bring myself to do it. it’s embarrassing. i’d also be ruining his reputation with the organization. most likely asked why i didn’t report it. or even worse, be told that nothing can be done, which i’d expect to be the most likely outcome.

i have no intention of continuing a friendship with him, but i’m civil with him when i have to be. and it’s weird. i don’t like it but i feel like of all the things i should’ve done, i didn’t and put myself in this position, leaving me with no valid reason to complain.

i just needed to vent, because i haven’t said any of this from start to finish and reflecting on it i see how i was groomed but never had the common sense to know when to walk the fuck away. i honestly did this to myself.

Had a dream that I forgot my phone password. So I went to the link "forgot password" and it took me to some weird place. Like the first few options were normal 'regain password by----'

But I didnt give me an option to reset, just regain.

I was scrolling down the options and it began to get weird, it was giving me information on ny other friends??? Like what they were doing on their phones.

And I scrolled further down and there was an option to ask a man for help. A random man. It scared me bc I thought "how would this guy know not information?" I looked around to report it, but couldnt find anything and i was panicking. I quit that menu and clicked again on "forgot password" and again, same menu.

Only this time the mans option was more directed at me from him. "Sre you sure you dont want me to help you? I know everything about you"

And I freaked out and left the menu again. But my phone suddenly went to a weird map that showed my location and the location of other people. My location was green. And there was an orange dot that was coming closer and closer.

I tried to close all tabs on my phone, but no matter what I did, this one wouldnt close. Suddenly an article popped out about the man. How he would offer help to girls and when he got to them, he would cut their hearts out. So ofc, I freaked out.

And my younger brother got home at that moment, and I kept seeing the orange dot get closer and closer, already in what seemed to be the parking lot of my building. So I grabbed my brother and told him, "we're going to the police right now" and he didnt question it at all, he just came along.

We were already out of the building when I saw my mom coming to us and she asked what was wrong, and I told her "a man is trying to cut my heart out" and my mom was slightly concerned.

But she kept saying why I would think that and I told her why. She told me I was crazy. "Youve always been so paranoid thinking that someone's out to get you. I thought you were over this"- which is true. When I was younger, i was terrified all the time bc I thought someonebwasngoingnto get me.

Point is that was KIND of the end of that dream. Bc I'm in another apartment now, trying to convince my mom that someone's going to come for me and we need to go. She refuses to listen. Suddenly a man comes home, who is my father (in my dream i recognized him as my father, girl, never seen the man before)

I tried convincing HIM. But nothing as well bc my mom tells him, "She said the same thing a few weeks back and nothing happened, her paranoia is getting the best of her again"

Suddenly there is a man at the door and my mom and dad both look weirded out bc no one has ever visited before. My father says he'll answer, but before he does, he hides me behind and extra fridge we had in the dining room, just in case.

He opens the door to a man and a woman. He barely greets them when they invite themselves in and sit in the dining room, looking around for something.

I'm scared. The lady is extra intruding, only not looking behind the fridge bc my dad keeps distracting her. I keep as quiet as possible.

Suddenly the lady speaks up, "it's so weird. I dont remember refrigerators having ears" and suddenly she pulls me out and holds 3 knifes to my neck.

My mom and dad freak out, and the man looks delighted and starts talking, "ever since my wife saw you sitting around and watching those shows, I just knew I had to have ur heart-"

Then hes interrupted bc someome just knocked his wife over. It was my older brother (who, again, I recognized as my brother in my dream, but not irl)

He got the knives and put it to the womans neck and my father got the man.

My brother said "I had no idea what I walked into, but as soon as I saw this lady holding knives to your neck, I just tackled her down"

And then we called the police, and then I woke up.

And i wanted to write it down before I forget bc it's the most vivid dream ive had in a really long time. Now I gotta study for my tests bye

Car Insurance Cost in NYC?

I have a question regarding car insurance. I'm 29 years old. I've been in 3 car accidents but was not at fault for any of them (2 of the times my car was sitting still! lol) and I've never gotten a ticket for any of those accidents. I used to have insurance through State Farm, full coverage for a 2004 Jeep Liberty that cost 50-60 a month in upstate NY. While driving to NYC one winter I got a speeding ticket, my first ticket ever! I was going I think 82(?) in a 65. This was just before I moved to NYC, and because I got the ticket in a podunk little county I was driving through I had no idea what the name was, the ticket flew out my door and I lost it. I figured they would mail me something else to tell me the payment was late but I never received anything else about it. Well I found out later it was because I moved, even though I moved about 2 months after the fact they wait quite a while to send another notice, and I never received it. Thus, my license was suspended but I never knew. I never got caught driving without it either. So I moved here in 2007 with my Jeep which I was very behind payments for, and then it got towed away for alternate side parking BS. I could have borrowed the money back then to pay to get it out but I let it go. Alright so long story short, I don't have the truck, it was auctioned. I'll be done paying for it through a collection agency settlement offer this May. If I had kept the truck, I would be paying 200+ more a month than I pay now, and I wouldn't have been done paying it til August 2011. Plus I would have had to pay to catch it up the 3 months I was behind, plus pay my boyfriends brother back who was willing to lend me the money to get it out of the car jail (lol) I had the suspension lifted last July so I could rent a car, again no issues. So I'm thinking of buying a 2,000 car (cash! I learned my lesson) in June when I'm done paying for the truck and I want to get no fault insurance. I know it will be a lot more here then what I used to pay, and in addition I now have a suspension that wasn't there before. I however felt so guilty i went and turned myself into the police and told them the truth about everything. the cop that was at the accident is who i spoke with..i filled out a witness report and the cop said that he was really glad that I came forward with the truth and that she would be in much more trouble than I and that he planned to take it easy on me since i came forward about it and because i am a mom..he said the most i will probably get is my license suspended..i am still waiting to get anything in the mail and i'm so nervous bc i don't know if i can get in worse trouble and was wondering what other people thought..honestly the whole thing has scared me from ever wanting to drive again and even though i wasn't the victim i really felt like it for days after the accident..i was very distraught..and i'm scared even being a passenger in a car now..i watch everything and get very scared fast. if you were around for the pre-end-of-mh days you might remember times i like to talk to myself extensively, pointlessly, and dumbassedly about my own thoughts, which go nowhere and solve nothing. literally ignore me, talking about bring me the spider cup, i wanna prank crimmins natcho. my proclivity towards trying to figure out mysteries is matched only by my total inability to do so.

firstly i was like ok, this doesn’t necessarily mean eno knows who this guy is, which i think is true but unlikely. he’s probably met him before and while i think it would be funny if this is all some roundabout unnecessary revenge scheme by someone who considers eno his rival, i’d think it was more likely eno was kind of in a position like wallace where maybe they just worked in the same place. (sidenote: he is so clearly evil how do people share an office with him. please fix this mess jerry)

becoz the thing is it was a bit strange eno said he couldnt take a client via a social workers request with the reasoning that he’d left that life behind him? because he is a therapist now after all. but it would make more sense if he used to maybe be associated with / work for a company like that. i dont even know anything about privatised versions of social work but maybe it could work like that. and maybe he worked with crimcrom because sure, maybe crimmins just murdered his way into head of a company or other unsavory methods, and/or maybe also he has actual experience in the field. because maybe he was working at the same place as eno?

because honestly if i was going to take a very vague guess of where the social work is involved here, its that if youre going to do terrible dangerous medical experiments on people, you take people who have connections without the wealth/time/stability to investigate or else just people who wont be missed at all. people whose debilitating struggles and unstable situations you actually have documentation of. and it does seem like everyone with someone missing was relying on kent and co. to find them, because they couldnt themselves, because their sibling/whomever had been targeted for that exact reason, that their family/friends wouldnt have the means to find them. probably this has been going on for a while and most people are just killed and those who arent are kinda just chucked out somewhere to be found by whoever

anyways, the thing with eno, the idea he was working with/for a company earlier is a bit confusing too because its confusing that kent and yumi were killed but eno wasnt? theres the chance that the attempt simply failed, but i had thought that maybe because eno wasnt the semi-public face of the effort like kent was or an official worker like yumi, maybe nobody who put the hit out knew he was even involved. but since im guessing we’re guessing crimmins was directly/indirectly involved in the Day Of Murder and he knows about eno, thats not true……but then its a bit fuzzier why eno wasnt killed if he wasnt just helping out as a friend but sort of associated with his work, like yumi was. maybe it was part of a longer con, like as might be made clearer soonish. because unfortunately i really doubt crim would show his hand like this if he wasnt secure in everything favoring his schemes currently

it also makes sense that eno had been in a position like yumi’s because im also assuming eno thinks its his own files that someone had got hold of. cuz if yumi and kent had the same papers, surely eno did too. and if he was just keeping them to himself it would be one thing but if he was using them with his work like yumi was, then maybe it happened like he said it did only with his file/company in place of yumi’s. which makes sense coz of why he is so uncomfortable and why he was so surprised about it. probably he didnt suppose it had happened until kip said it did, and he suspects it was on his end that it happened but doesnt want to say it because its unpleasant and because he doesnt want to say it to kip.

i was hoping that gayness would be the wrench in the gears aka kip wasnt supposed to learn of the link between kents files and wallaces, but maybe he actually absolutely was? it would make sense why crimmins was so keen to make sure wallace got kip to work with him. because unless it is remarkably nuanced i doubt part of his plan involves trying to get wallace to directly harm anyone, cuz obvs he wouldnt, he is just motivated to not get fired and hopefully do good work. but it seems like a safe guess that kip would see wallaces papers even though kip really should be getting paid for this, and maybe crimmins was assuming that kip had already seen kents file? because if he had worked with eno and gotten his files, he would basically know what must be in kents files. and it apparently wasnt a secret that the files had made it out of the fire with kip

but its a hell of a con because its like, it seemed like a bonus that kip realized the coincidence, because why would crimmins want kip to suspect that wallace is somehow connected with the scheme that kent was investigating / his family and yumi were killed for? but apparently he could guess that kip would meet with eno about it, because i guess he’s tracking one or both of them. speaking of, im hoping that kip hasnt just gotten jumped. im sure its a concern on the best of days that eno told him to be safe, but it seems ominous

just like it seemed ominous when kip told wallace he trusts eno more than anyone. wallace sure learned a lot in those couple of days, namely: he already knows where kip lives exactly and who with and that they are good friends (not sure how coincidental it is that they live in the exact same building, maybe its just convenient), who kip’s ex-boyfriend is and where he works and who he works with and that he and kip have Strong Feelings for each other, who kip’s therapist is and that he sees him once a week and is a old and close friend whom kip trusts above all others, and i’m sure wallace has been able to pick up that kip has a dead brother and theres a story behind it and its a touchy subject. i mean, that’s mostly completely irrelevant info to put into a report, but maybe not if it was relevant to mention that he was working with kip since after all his boss had told him to. but probably crimmins was guessing that if wallace was making headway at all, he had got hold of kip. and since apparently he has eyes on people, that helps too. fix it jerry

if wallaces only purpose though was to show kip the files he had, that also has to mean rousing kip’s suspicion…..also, if kip had known about kents files before he’d seen wallace’s, wouldnt he potentially be immediately suspicious enough of wallace to cut off ties with him? maybe that doesn’t matter idk. b/c tbh it seems like theres only so much you can do w/ wallace while preserving his “unwitting involvement in an evil scheme” status, you cant ask him to do anything non-job related. unless his reports are doubling as surveillance or something. but he wouldnt do anything he thought was harmful or over his bounds. even asking him to get kip involved was weird, but at least crim seemed to accurately count on wallace caring too much abt his job to object with stuff rather than simply doing what he had to to keep it

like, clearly something about kip is important to crim’s schemes but how could i guess what. because im guessing we dont have enough information yet, but even if you gave me the info we have now and told me to fill in the blanks however i wanted, i couldnt come up with anything. im really really dumb as hell and not creative enough to take the ventures required to come up with accurate theories. but ok, medical experiments, it could just be anti-monster, but it could also be pro-human which happens to be anti-monster aka more exploitative. cuz it doesnt seem like theyre “Kill All Monsters” as much as “its fine if monsters die but if theyre alive we’ll just dump them somewhere because we just literally assign them no value unless somehow they’re useful towards whatever’s going on here.”

coz kip has two powers: 1) he’s a beloved semipublic figure, and 2) ice and he’s cold

and he has one majorly exploitable weakness in that he’s very afraid for his surrogate family, generally more scared than the average person of being murdered horribly, and knows he has good reasons for that and also trauma

but it seems like if crim wanted to get hold of kip by threatening his loved ones, he could do that at any time? why would wallace need to be involved at all; he wouldnt. why does he need to tip kip off about his own schemes. why did he need to wait five years? why has there been this five year gap? simply development of the mystery scheme? or is it because kip has moved back to c and/or because kip is a semi-public figure again

coz reading between the lines but im supposing that kip had earnestly and strongly intended to follow in kent’s footsteps but was presumably discouraged from this when his family was murdered. but even tho he only told wallace about moving back to c because roy and molly missed it, in the intervention that gets sprung on him and other hints, it sounds like kip still considers himself dedicated to helping people like kent did, which is what his sjw blog is, but he’s majorly aware of the danger of that and unwilling to get anyone killed this time, which is a major limitation, seeing as that happened to him before and everyone is disappeared all the time w/o repercussion. except the repercussion of one tiny group of people who look into it and get murdered, except for eno

but also kip must not have been doing any Helping The Public stuff before he moved to C, because when he says he has to help wallace to justify having thrown so much away, and considering how he’d lost so much in the fire, presumably what he’s thrown away is his life with pascal. im guessing he couldnt have made roy and molly split from him even if he tried, but pascal apparently could be parted from. for like a week, but whatever. he’d been dating pascal before the fire, but if he hadnt been involved in any position of openly helping monsters before the fire and hadnt before moving back to C, that explains why he tried to convince pascal not to go with them.

anyways, uh, see ive lost track of what i was saying. that, while kip is so afraid for the safety of those too close to him, he can also be pressured into a riskier position. but thats by his friends and himself. but maybe if he’s going to be given false information he thinks is from eno, he could do other risky things too. cuz i doubt theres any real protection, as if kent and yumi and eno werent trying to be safe. im guessing kip’s just trying to keep his head down and his cards close to his chest. its frustrating because technically he was right to be immediately suspicious of wallace to the point of associating him with the death of his family and being afraid of helping wallace, but not because wallace’s personal intentions arent good. but still its going to be really awkward if kip gets an idea of what wallace is associated with. cuz its an extremely delicate process that would allow wallace to figure out what was going on and break the news to kip and have kip trust him, so delicate that i doubt it exists and anyways the odds are not in its favor. but its frustrating because i want people to not be friends and not feel betrayed by their bosses and each other and even better, to be friends working together to resolve murders and an evil scheme

anyways. what does crim need from kip. stuff he knows? i doubt he’s trying to corrupt kip’s blog, or otherwise exploit the fact that kip’s probably a trusted community figure. for starters, crim’s already been getting away completely with abduction, murder, arson, etc, for years. unless theres some new Phase of the plan that requires something new. but again, it seems like a big ol coincidence that kip and co moved to C five months before wallace was moved into their exact building with the goal of getting involved with kip, tho wallace obviously doesnt know about all that stuff yet. why does it matter that kips in C. did crim not know where he was prior? did he need kip to be involved in the public sphere so that he could catch hold of him by sending out a social worker too naive and earnest to focus on the suspicious evilness of his new boss? did he just not need kip yet???

it seems strange to consider that crim could like, blackmail or threaten either kip or eno longterm. like, is he about to make a move here. because yeah they both have reasons to be extremely protective of people, which can be leveraged. but like wallace, i dunno how far they could be pushed with doing anything obviously harmful, or doing anything for anyone so obviously evilly motivated. or how long such a chokehold could be maintained. eno being threatened with kip’s wellbeing and being pressured into manipulating kip in one way or another is one thing, and even then how could he be threatened more than once. how could he be expected not to do something to warn someone if the pressing is let up for even a moment? is the point to abduct eno maybe and make kip feel even more afraid, because that would probably admittedly be super effective, but i imagine kip would just withdraw completely from things like being involved with wallace, blogging, etc. but to try to coerce kip into doing something by threatening multiple people is trickier, and what could kip do?

the thing is that i could see kip as being targeted for the ice thing, because thats another coincidence, that he has a really strong ability that seems pretty unusual even for monsters. like, freezing freshly brewed hot tea in a few seconds is really something. and i’m supposing he survived the fire by freezing himself / ice protection, which is really really something. and maybe the fact that he’s also an sjw who’s always scared that someones going to get hurt or killed is just a way to get to him. coz maybe, even probably, kip wasnt supposed to survive the fire, but just be another casualty because crim and co do not give a shit about bothering to spare any monsters life. but the fact that he did, using ice, and that he had his brothers files, all probably wasnt a secret. i mean, the surviving and the files part definitely wasnt, but just knowing the place was on fire and he survived ok probs implies that he had the ability to protect himself somehow, and thats a really impressive ability

idk all i know is im stupid and i dont like that everyone is going to be even more miserable and endangered and mysteries are a trial for me because i want to die and dont want to have to deal with dying on a cliffhanger, i’ll be an angry ghost. ive probably forgotten a tangent or two i wanted to touch on and that makes me an angry pre-ghost. w/e
