So no clue what the phenomenon is called, but I've got that thing of "whenever you hear noises you have to repeat them" thing that some ADHD people have. It's not an always thing for me, but I do it A Lot when I'm out birding. I'm no good at it, of course, as I have a human mouth and no syrinx (a bird's voicebox), but that doesn't stop the chickadees from thinking some kid-chickadee is singing really badly in their territory, as chickadees love to throw down.

The problem is when you repeat a Barred Owl song (because ohmygod their song is amazing!) and the male of the pair thinks you sound juuuuuuuuust enough like an owl that he decides to scope your location. The amount of impulse control you gain when faced with the fact an owl would gladly smack the back of your head for singing terribly is incredible.

Like I said in this post, I was tagged twice - and therefore I want to do this tag twice. I know I asked for suggestions and I was asked to do either Regan and Felix or Caleb and Lilith Vatore. I was going to do Regan and Felix, since developing them would be more useful for their legacy than developing my nsb!Vatores, but then I thought wait a minute, if I want to do Scarlett’s BC, wouldn’t it be fun to develop her and her twinsister a little more? Marie: “The wanted twin. You were quite a surprise.”

Marie: “I know you probably want me to go really deep, but I’m going to say her style. Like, I wouldn’t be able to pull it off myself, but it’s so cute on her. I love that.”

Scarlett: “Thank you! I like how honest you can be. If you don’t like something or someone, you just say it. I think that’s an important trait.”

Marie: “Definitely. Oh, you’re also really empathetic.”

Marie: “I know! I hate that about myself as well. Someone is crying in front of me and I don’t give a shit about why they’re crying, I’ll just stand there and pray they’ll stop soon because it hurts my ears. Which actually brings me to what annoys me about you.”

Marie: “Yeah, you cry about every little thing. Happy ocassion, sad one, doesn’t matter, you’ll have waterfalls coming down your cheeks.”

Scarlett: “She was a mermaid in her past life. I’ve never understood how you can swim so fast.”

Marie: “It’s just practice.”

Marie: “You’ve always been bad at remembering to give back the borrowed things. You know, pens, pencils...and you always forget to bring back the books from the library on time.”

Scarlett: “I know. Good thing auntie Rachel works there. She’s forgiven me quite a lot.”

Marie: “We don’t.”

Marie: “But we didn’t come up with them.”

Scarlett: “Scary Scar and Mini Sharon. Don’t ask our dad why he thought it would be fun to call me Scar.”

Marie: “Mine isn’t that bad. I mean, if mum didn’t dye her hair, we would really look alike, so -”

Scarlett: “Why didn���t he call me Mini Lynn then or something? Grandma’s haircolour somehow made it through genetics to me. Scary Scar is the worst nickname of all times.”

Marie: “I’m pretty sure uncle Caleb would beg to differ.”

8. What’s one thing you can do that your sibling(s) can’t?

Scarlett: “I’ve always been good at writing.”

Marie: “That’s right, you always got good grades on your writing homework, while me...I’m not creative, okay? Not to mention spelling is hard sometimes.”

Scarlett: “But you can swim and run faster than anyone in the family.”

Marie: “That’s right. I’m unstoppable!”

9. Did you get along when you were younger?

Marie: “Sometimes we didn’t talk for days.”

Scarlett: “True.”

Marie: “But most of the time, we were okay, I guess.”

10. What is your funniest childhood memory of your sibling?

Marie: “Oh god, this is embarrassing.”

Scarlett: “It is. If we’re thinking the same thing, it is.”

Marie: “But we were so little - wait, are you thinking the concert too?”

Scarlett: “The concert. We should tell the story.”

Marie: “Yeah, totally. So, it was dad’s birthday, he had a concert that night, and his bandmates thought it would be cute if they got us on stage so we could sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to him in front of everyone.”

Scarlett: “We thought it would be nice too, even mum agreed, and so we got ready for our moment of fame. And as we walked on the stage, I realized how many people were staring at us.”

Marie: “And you started shaking and crying. I tried to calm you down, but it didn’t work, and before anyone could do anything else, I dragged you to the backstage again. I remember dad was so confused, like what the hell were we doing there?! But he wasn’t mad at all. We wished him a happy birthday later and never attempted to surprise him in the middle of his concert again.”

Scarlett: “That’s a lie. I don’t know who it was - Joe maybe? - I think he tried to convince us next year again, but mum was against it.”

Scarlett: “Definitely now.”

Marie: “When there’s a problem, we now solve it by talking, instead of putting it off for days. I think that’s the biggest difference.”

Marie: “Dad literally calls me Mini Sharon sometimes, so guess what.”

Scarlett: “You’re a good mix of both though! I feel like - I mean you can tell I’m their daughter, but it’s not as clear as with you.”

Marie: “You inherited all of dad’s talent. You can sing, you could write songs if you wanted to. I’m more like mum.”

Scarlett: “Meaning there’s not a sport you wouldn’t succeed in.”

Marie: “I wish. But yeah, sort of.”

Scarlett: “I’m single right now, so...what about you, Marie?”

Marie: “Mason and I are too young and stupid to have spawns of our own.”

Scarlett: “When I was little, I wanted a big family, but now that I’m older and I travel a lot, I think children can wait.”

Marie: “I’m trying to stay realistic. You on the other hand, you’re always like ‘oh yeah, this could be fun, let’s try it!’ and you never think about what could go wrong! How do you do that?”

Marie: “I hate going shopping with you. I’m sorry but it just takes too long. It’s not necessary!”

Scarlett: “The one of us that is currently in a relationship.”

we had such a good day yesterday, after i got fired. everyone else was annoying af to me bc they wouldn’t really listen when i talked about it- you were game. everyone else just had stuff to offer or sympathy- you said “i’m here.” even tho you’ve been dealing with hella other bullshit. you let me run thru my full gamut of feelings and we got pasta and i smoked and then we got drunk lmao. we always have so much fun together. i told you about the kyle and crystal thing and you’re like “you can have fun with it!! you can toy with them. you’re going to keep receiving attention” and i’m like me?!  and i kinda end up being like “but i mean i can’t... help it” re being hot and we both start laughing and they’re like you can’t help it!! remember that thing i posted about you not making me feel desirable? that was a lie. lmao i kept licking the rim of my drink and sucking it and you were like, enraptured. i’d keep looking up and you’re just watching me like nutttt and then i would giggle and keep it up and we’d both laugh. when we were at pasta you said something about the employee party and i said, softly, “why are you going?” and you could see instantly that it was really bothering me and were like “well, things are obviously different now. i don’t really know.” and you didn’t go. instead you stayed with me the whole night. so then we got tacos and kept laughing and (one of my fav lines from you “i mean, but my grandma is hood as fuck so it makes sense”) at one point i was like man i love calories and you go well that’s why we have... i mean pardon me, but a fat ass. that’s why we look like this. we eat and move. and i internally was like hehehehe you think i’m cute!! which i know and kept knowing but still. then i’m like let’s do something fun!! and youre like, no more alcohol. i���m like k. youre like piercings? yes. ok! ok. what are you gonna get pierced? my nose!! i had to cut it out when i worked at Dick’s and I loved it and this is the perfect day to get it repierced!! and of course, you also wanted your nose. on the same side of your nose as mine no less. so we go to get piercings and they’re just super gay and nice and i have my goodwill faux fur denim coat that everyone has been complimenting me on and the front desk gay is like “omg. i have that exact coat.” and i read him the label and he’s like yes!! i also got mine from goodwill!! does yours smell like the 70s too?? and i’m like YES ive been smelling it all weekend and i couldn’t figure out what it was!!! so we pick out our jewlery and i see the one i want but idk and i’m like nic? which one and they point to the one i liked the best so i’m like perf. and then when the guy is lining it up on my nose he turns to nic and is like what do you think? and they literally say, perfect. i went first. you looked so thrilled as i laid down and the guy stuck the needle in my nose. all laughing and blushing bc it is exciting and im so calm just like, yeah bro. cool bro. that was easy. then you lay down and i SWEAR our song which i sing all the time, “i’ve never been in love before” from guys and dolls is playing in an instrumental version. i always have this song stuck in my head!! and i’m like omg i always sing this!! and youre like after a sec you... sing this? and me and the piercer both explain its instrumental. you also looked super hot getting pierced. we;re both so calm as this needle is shoved thru our noses lol. so then we all giddy and pierced with our goddamn adorable matching piercings and you look over at me beaming and you say, “definitely the right color” re mine and it was just so wonderful. also the gayest thing ever. also it will be in your face!! for a long time!! and make you think of me i hope as mine will certainly make me think of you. then we walked to yr house and ran into everyone coming out of the employee party. obvs peggy didn’t speak to me. then i left and took the bus home but it was just wonderful, you’re wonderful. and ditched the whole employee party to hang out w me hehehehehe right after me being fired. love it. and i look HOT with this piercing. i was looking at myself in the mirror and i turn back and yr staring and i blush and am like “sorry, just vamping” and yr like no, no, i was just enjoying you vamping. it was just so fucking fun and spontaneous and now we never have to be miserable at skillet together again. and i told you i was rly relieved bc i hate being angry around you at work and being demanding of your emotional energy. and now i don’t have to!! oh and lmaoooo you were drunk and listing the things you care about and were like “...labor activism. and um. that’s it.” and i wanted to be like oh you mean this thing i am doing right now?? hello there!! its me guys… so !! here i am, doing what ive wanted to do for a long time. it’s new year, the first day of 2018, and i wanted to take the chance to say some things.

i’ve always struggled when it came to expressing myself and letting my inner self out in the open, bc i didn’t like feeling that exposed, but if there is a thing i’ve learnt with the passage of the years is that one of the most important things in the world – if not the most – is sharing love and showing people they’re appreciated and cared for. so i may strech myself a little bit too much, but please keep up with me, i have never been good at expressing myself shortly :(

2017 has been a tough year. for all of us, in different scales. some of us lost many important things, from people to motivation, or a reason. we lost jonghyun this year and no words can express how big of a loss this was. i almost lost my grandma, and only i know how much this triggered a fear in me. it doesn’t matter how much we say life is precious and worth living, sometimes we just can’t see an end to it. a path, a destination. from what i know, anyone i know could be gone tomorrow, or even today, and the heavy realization of this sank on me like never last year. that’s why i think it’s so important letting others sincerely know their impact in our lives, it doesn’t matter if you don’t impact their lives just as much. that’s not the point of it. i’m sure you impact other people in a way maybe they don’t impact you. and that’s okay. we’re humans. it doesn’t have to be mutual to be real and significant. because in the end of the day that’s what makes all of us important. the things we feel and how all of it connect us with other people. happiness, sadness, fear, love and all kinds of emotions – they should be shared. don’t be scared about it. i swear you’re important, and you matter, you just have to believe it. please, keep going, you’re such an unique, precious thing to this world, and it would be such a loss to not have you. i love you, i hope you all have a happy new year, and – most of all –, so many love in your hearts that it feels like swelling and like it doesn’t fit your body ♥

something random part 1

so i was trying to be less lazy and started deleting unwanted photos and videos in my camera roll and i stumbled upon a 100 questions tag i screenshot some time in dec 2016 and i never got round to doing it and since i’ve got some time now i’m gonna do them all here just for the fun of it and also to “train” my typing and visual skills :-)

2. do you like the feeling of cold air on your cheeks on a wintery day? - singapore doesn’t have the 4 seasons, it’s constantly summer here with the occasional monsoon/rainy days but yes i do like the feeling of just air/wind in general on my cheeks and everywhere else really

3. what random objects do you use to bookmark your books? - scrap pieces of paper, receipts

4. how do you take your coffee/tea? - i like semi-sweet black coffee for something hot/warm but i love cold drinks best

5. are you self-conscious of your smile? - currently, a little bit after i noticed how crooked one of my front tooth is and how there’s like this stain which as told by my dentist was probably caused by a medicine i wasn’t supposed to take when i was younger because it’s an irremovable stain even if i bleach my whole set of teeth white :-)

6. do you keep plants? - i don’t but the family has them, given by my uncle. my dad takes care of them every morning

8. what artistic medium do you use to express your feelings? - it’s not very artistic but sometimes when i’m angry i’ll cry :-) LOL 

9. do you like singing/humming to yourself? - sometimes i do hum without realising it and who doesn’t like singing to themselves!! i do even though i know my voice is fucking gross and i have no singing talent, it’s a good way to destress 

10. do you sleep on your back, side or stomach? - i used to sleep on my stomach but after the surgery i got used to sleeping on my side and it’s been that way ever since then

13. what’s something that made you smile today? - a voice message han sent me asking if i’m ok or if i’m unwell just because i decided to sleep early yesterday night and then i went on his twitter and saw a tweet saying i should tell him if i’m sick and not keep it from him hahaha idk why but it made me smile because it was something so small but i guess it was quite out of the norm for me to want to sleep early which was why he was worried hahaha

14. if you were to live with your best friend in an old flat in a big city, what would it look like? - a huge mess because we’re both lazy bitches loool but i guess something we have in common is, the lesser the furniture the better!

19. do you keep a journal? what do you write/draw in it? - i used to but i can never get into the habit of writing daily as you can see, the same goes for blogs too lol but i had this scrapbook i bought and wrote down lame things like a mini biodata, and then i think in sec 2 i asked the whole class to sign their names in it 

20. what’s your favorite eye color? - brown like farhan’s ;) ayyyy HAHAHAHA i’ve always like green eyes that sometimes changes into dusty gray under different lights

21. talk about your favorite bag, the one that’s been to hell and back with you and that you love to pieces. - i would say my kanken bc it really has been with me to hell and back since i always had to carry my mac around but i’ve been really digging this black backpack my mom got me the other time and have since carried it every fucking where i go

i just wanted to bring a happy thought

you were bored and stuff so you were surfin the web

you were all cozy in bed and your coffee was beside you

aNd everything was a good morning so you were like

“this is nice !!”

anyways, you were on tumblr and you accidentally clicked on an ad

“goddamnit ads smh”

but you saw bts’s picture so you clicked

you were a simple woman. you saw bts, you click

you almost tipped over your coffee bc it said bts is having a concert !!

in your country !!

wOW !!

you had to do some research and bighit confirmed it

all you have to do is scavenge for m(ahni)oney

but you were broke ( aRENT WE ALL?? )

thankfully your friends are blessings from god and bought tickets for your squad so you can all meet bts together

and annoy them together

and get kicked out by the staff..

anyways, the concert on a saturday and all of you were free

so you were like, “heck yea uhuh im meeting my babs”

you were so excite

you could explode

when you would go to school, you would have this big smile on your face and feel all giddy and happy that you would just close your eyes and cry

after doing all your homework, you went to sleep at 5 pm

bc you hoped to dream about your bias

but your mind was like “nOpe” and you saw a black void for a straight 8 hours

but you didnt care !!

you woke up at 2 am bc 8 hours of sleep and stuff

you decided not to waste time and pick out your outfit

you gotta look good when u meet ur babs y’now

you took like 3 hours picking an outfit which was a simple blue sweater and black tights

you also prepped your bag which included your sketchbook and small things you made to give bts incase you met them

you were literally so excite

you could cry right here and right now

you also stuffed a big ass makeup kit so you could mess with your friends’ faces

and make them pretty cuz ur squad has to be the most fab

you were all prepped up and ready but your makeup kit was so big you had to hand-carry it

but you didnt care !!

you skipped to the concert area where a bunch of fans were waiting for it to start and you were supposed to meet your friends there but you couldnt see them from the sea of screaming children

you say children but then they’re actually taller than you rip

suddenly your arm gets grabbed and you get dragged away by korean man wearing a mask

you hesitantly grabbed your makeup brush and you started shaking when your bias goes to sit on the chair infront of your mirror

you spaced out

he looks at you questioningly and waves his hand infront of your face

you merely shook your head and bow while apologizing

he chuckled while he watched you grab the makeup brush and dab it on the powder then onto his face

he would laugh loudly while you would do a dab while dabbing the makeup brush 

secretly you were a lit grandma who dabs 

you went ahead and took the eyeliner and started doing his eyes

you thought to yourself while smiling,

‘this happening may be a dream or a blessing from god but i am vv happy and i hope i would meet them again so- waIT OMG I ALMOST DREW ON HIS FACE WITH POWDER IM DEAD SUE ME”

you finished up while adding a thin layer of foundation and went on to doing his lips

you started blushing and you felt giddy so you stopped putting the lipgloss midway to smile brightly and clap your hands

everyone looked at you weirdly

you noticed the stares and went on to working on his lips

“you’re cute you know that?”

“erm, you sure?”

“yeah im sure”

you stopped moving and he stopped moving

he started chuckling and you started giggling

he tried to stop himself from laughing but you were losing it

you almost drew on your face with the lipgloss 

the other makeup artist was already done doing the other six members but you were just stuck with doing one

oh well

the show was starting and you were excited and you wished them luck before they each went on stage

then you remembered your friends so you became sanic and packed up your makeup kit with full speed and stuffed it in your bag

you rushed to where the other fans are and met up with your friends

they were worried sick

and you were smiling from ear to ear

anyways the show started and everyone started cheering and screaming and crying

you saw your bias on stage and you were like, “oh no i messed up his lips fans are going to kill me im scared”

you were just staring at your bias

and a million ways of being killed by other ARMYs were rushing through your head

but your bias also caught eye contact

he was just shocked but he had to pretend to be okay

he kept his cool

uhuh

they preformed for awhile and it was that part of the concert where they were saying their thank-yous and messages

you were screaming and holding your hand up for shitsandgiggles bc you wanted to act normal and stuff

but then your bias grabs your hand and pulls you upstage

you were like !!!

and you made this weird face that everyone seemed to laugh at

everyone was just quiet and shocked 

your friends are lit grandmas and helped by playing a remix of the little einsteins theme song 

suddenly ARMYs started doing the nae-nae while singing that song and laughing with each other

you were also dancing and motioning for BTS to copy their fans’ dancing

everyone was dancing 

and i mean everyone, even the staff

everyone was having a good time and your bias suddenly spoke,

“hey-”

“WE’RE GOIN ON A TRIP”
