White Day: A Labyrinth Named School (2015)
"Oranges and lemons. Say the bells of St. Clement's. You owe me five farthings. Say the bells of St. Martin's. When will you pay me? Say the bells of Old Bailey. When I grow rich. Say the bells of Shoreditch. And when will that be? Say the bells of Stepney. I do not know.Say the great bells of Bow. Here comes a candle. To light you to bed.
Tumblr media
And here comes a chopper.
To chop off your head."

👻 Just finished playing White Day: A Labyrinth Named School and WHOA, my heart is still racing! This Korean horror game is a rollercoaster of scares and suspense. 🎮🇰🇷
Tumblr media
From the eerie atmosphere to the spine-chilling encounters, this game takes you on a wild ride through a haunted school, and let me tell you, it's not for the faint of heart! The tension builds up so well, and the jump scares are next-level. 😱💀
The puzzles? Oh man, they're both mind-bending and nerve-wracking. You'll need your wits about you to navigate this labyrinth of fear. The storyline keeps you hooked, and the mystery behind the school's haunting adds a whole new layer of creepiness. 👀🚪
The game's sound design deserves a shoutout too! The creaks, whispers, and sudden noises had me constantly looking over my shoulder. And the graphics? They create an immersive and chilling experience.
If you're a horror game enthusiast, or even if you're just looking for a good scare, White Day: A Labyrinth Named School is a MUST-PLAY. Just make sure to keep the lights on! 💡🔦

Horror game White Day 2: The Flower That Tells Lies Complete Edition will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on August 15, publisher PQube and developer ROOTNSTUDIO announced.
White Day 2: The Flower That Tells Lies Complete Edition first launched episodically for PC via Steam, starting with Episode 1 on February 15, 2023, followed by Episode 2 on May 2, 2023, and ending with Episode 3 on July 20, 2023.
Here is an overview of the game, via PQube:
About
On the night of March 14, 2001, exactly one day after the incident at Yeondu High, four individuals return to the school in search of answers to the unsolved mysteries that haunt them.
Episode 1 – Disturbed by rumours of her involvement in the death of a fellow student, Jung Soo-jin is determined to set the record straight and regain the trust of her crush Jang Sung-tae. But as the pair search for clues, they learn of a far darker secret deep within the bowels of the school, and become prey in a relentless hunt.
Episode 2 – At the same time, former teacher-in-training Kang Seo-yeon arrives to investigate the ambiguous circumstances surrounding her father’s passing on the school grounds. Drawing on her knowledge of the occult, Seo-yeon attempts to reverse an ancient ritual while evading a powerful and malicious ghost that is inexorably drawn to her.
Episode 3 – Having made a promise that can’t be broken, first-year student Yoo Ji-min searches for a way to bring peace to the restless spirit of Han Na-young. Delving deeper into the tragic history of the school and the complex relationships between its students, Ji-min makes a fateful discovery that will lift the veil of obscurity once and for all.
White Day 2: The Flower That Tells Lies Complete Edition brings together the interlocking stories of all three episodes along with every released downloadable content into one definitive package.

Also, watching The Menu reminded me that I started watching The Labyrinth. . .and also how disappointing it's been. I only made it halfway through because it was so boring.
HOW!?
The game did not translate to movie well.
I should have known they weren't going to do it justice. I think it's only an hour and a half long, and Chani stars in it. I guess I had more faith in it since Chani was a legit actor, not just an idol pulled in. Regardless, it was disappointing. White Day deserved a better adaptation. . .one that doesn't have nonsensical exposition that lasts halfway through the movie.
(And I mean nonsensical in relation to the game and its lore. It was unnecessary, and not particularly interesting.)

i think I made a post saying I was going to edit alchemist's sprite. Well, here it is! (Under the cut. Warnings for eye gore/eye trauma and blood, and mention of suicide in the text):
Tumblr media
The Cookie Solving a Problem
It was right after lunch, and with the cool breeze coming in through the window, most students were nodding off during the lesson. To wake the class up, the irritated teacher called a few students to the board to solve some math problems. Alchemist was one of the students who was called up. One by one, students returned to their seats after solving their problems. Since the problems were easy, no one got them wrong...
Except Alchemist. She had read the question wrong and incorrectly solved the problem. This was unheard of considering her skill in Math. In front of the whole class, the teacher rebuked Alchemist saying that it was a stupid mistake. The teacher intended for Alchemist to remember the embarrassment and never make the same mistake again. Alchemist could not lift her head out of shame. Her face turned bright red. The cookies could not stop snickering, the fact that the teacher's pet was being scolded right in front of them was fun and satisfying.
When the teacher left at the end of the lesson, all the cookies started talking about what just happened to Alchemist. They sounded excited that they finally had something to hold over her. Alchemist was angry. She blamed the teacher who embarrassed her in front of her class, she hated her classmates who took it as an opportunity to talk behind her back even more, and she was angry at herself for getting the stupid question wrong.
Even when she went home after school, she could not get it out of her mind. She hated her eyes for reading the question wrong. "It's not my fault", she decided. She rationalized to herself that the problem was not her, but her eyes. Soon, a terrible sound was heard, and the workbook on her desk was stained with red.
The next day, Alchemist's classmates trembled with fear when it was announced that Alchemist had committed suicide by scraping her own eyes off with a knife.
After this happened, a rumor spread that whenever a Math problem is left on the chalkboard, Alchemist's ghost is summoned. It is said that the ghost would stare at the problem on the chalkboard, but her eyes would be nothing but scars.
